Inside, outside
Pairings: 10K x reader, Addy Carver sister x reader
Warnings: Mentions of blood, swearing, violence
Chapter: 2.12
Feeling a presence behind you, you turned back to see Vasquez walking in your direction. He sat down on the log across from you.
“Can’t sleep either, I’m guessing.”
You glanced back down at the notepad sitting on your lap. “Nah, I took over from Addy early. Besides, it’s hard to sleep on the grass when I can’t stop imagining bugs crawling all over me.”
“You're in a zombie apocalypse and you're more concerned about spiders crawling into your hair,” he said, a smirk tugging at the corner of his lip.
“Exactly.”
“What are you looking at?”
You handed him the notepad and noticed the way his eyes opened in surprise. “This is something. Some of these are horrifying, no offence.”
You shrug, “none taken. That’s why I took those pictures. So I won't forget.”
“I don’t think anyone will be forgetting the rotten monsters that rose from the dead anytime soon.”
You scoff at his words. Vasquez had the ability to make you feel incredibly dumb just by the tone of his voice alone. It wasn’t that you disliked him, you just didn’t understand him.
“I don't want to forget their faces,” you said as you reached for your notepad. “I don’t have pictures of my family from before the apocalypse and I sometimes struggle to remember them, so I’m making sure to take pictures of the fucked up family I have now.”
“I get it,” Vasquez pulled his dog tags over his neck and handed them to you. The first thing you noticed was a wedding ring. “I can’t remember what my wife's voice was like.”
“I’m sorry. I didn’t even know you were married… did she die during the apocalypse?”
“No,” he deadpanned. You regretted asking when you saw his jaw tense. “I was a DEA agent. I worked for the US Mexican task force. I’d been assigned to dismantle the Zero cartel, but something went wrong. They found out who I was. They kidnapped my wife, Angie, and our baby girl, Julia. He shot them right in front of me.”
Your stomach twisted in knots. “I’m so sorry, Vasquez. That must have been awful. I hope the son of the bitches who did it is dead.”
“Not yet, but I’ll get my revenge one day.”
Your group was currently surrounded by Z's and were running low on ammo.
“Now would be the time to pull a miracle out of your ass Murphy!” you yelled while stepping back.
You’d made it to the Mexican border easily enough, but when another car crashed into you, the sounds of the horns blaring attracted an onslaught of the infected.
As you braced yourself for the worst, somebody else began shooting at the dead. Somebody opened the window from inside the border wall and whistled for you all to follow him.
When you jumped down into a hallway, you realised it was the same men who ran the Z weed farm. Hector, or Escorpion, as he was known as, You groaned as Murphy stepped forward and told the bounty hunters he was ‘the Murphy’. He was incapable of keeping his mouth shut. You kept your gun pointed at Hector as Murphy pulled off his top to show his zombie bite scars.
Satisfied that Murphy was the real deal, Hector orders his men to back off and says a woman named La Reina is looking for your group to give them a reward.
You let out a gasp as you followed Hector outside into his people's garden. It was beautiful. All the plants were well maintained, with blossoming flowers beside them.
“Did you catch what he just said?” Your sister asks.
“No, why? Was it important?”
She rolled her eyes and smiled, “yes.” She whispered. “The person in charge is called the Queen of the Dead and has been watching us with drones.”
“Who doesn’t at this point?”
A brunette with a lot of tattoos on her face was waiting by the front door of the building you were walking up to. She whispered something to Hector and then moved back.
Hector nodded. “La Reina awaits your presence.”
La Reina greeted Murphy as if he was a celebrity and shared that she’d been sending her best men to hunt him down. She refused to say why she was hunting him down and insisted on showing everyone instead.
She shot you a wink as she walked by, “no need for weapons here.”
Reluctantly, you handed your weapons over to her men, “Try not to lose them.”
You waited for Warren, who was walking towards you with a fake smile on her face with Addy on the other side of her. “What’s the plan here?”
“Stay alive. Get out when we can with Murphy.”
“Welcome to my laboratory.”
The first thing you notice is the dead body on the table. Grimacing, you walk by it quickly. La Reina told you on the walk over that her doctor had been working on a cure so she could dispute the cure all over the world. The only thing she needed was Murphy’s blood.
So far her intentions seemed pure, she wanted to help others and not just herself.
The second door leading into the room opened and Kurian walked inside.
10K stepped in front of you protectively.
“Murphy,” Kurian says, stepping closer. His smile fades when he spots you. “You little-”
“You son of a bitch,” your sister spat.
Warren shook her head, “So this is where the zeros took you. I thought they were going to kill you.”
“I'm glad they didn't,” you say as you take a step ahead of the others. “Now I can do it myself.”
10K and Doc held you back from swinging at him. La Reina rolls her eyes, “you two know each other?”
“You hear about the nuclear strike in Colorado? He’s the one behind it.”
“Colorado?” La Reina shot Kurian a glare. “That’s where you went off with all my money?”
“I am mending my ways now. Plus, I would have come back sooner if that little bitch hadn’t shot me in the leg.”
“You shot him?”
“You're lucky I missed. I was aiming for your head!”
10K put his arm around your waist and pulled you closer to stop you from going any closer to the doctor.
“Lieutenant,” La Reina says, unimpressed as she steps in front of Warren. “I understand you and your people. If someone tried to kill me, I would not rest until I took my revenge, but nobody is going to kill my doctor, are they?”
“No.”
“Why not? I would.”
You could sense Warren’s hesitation, so you answered for her. “Because you took our guns.”
La Reina let out a loud laugh, “Yes I did. But something tells me a smart woman like you can make weapons out of anything, huh?”
“Yes.”
“So why not kill him?”
Warren cuts in, “because he might be the only one who can make a cure. We can settle our personal scores once humanity is saved.”
The air was thick with tension as Warren decided what the next move was.
La Reina had given your group two options. Either accept the bounty and go, or join the cartel and become a part of their society. Reluctantly, Warren agreed for you all to stay, as it was the safer option.
“All right,” La Reina said as she walked away. “We just have one test left.”
You let out a scream as a man placed a bag over your head and began dragging you backwards.
You felt sick to your stomach as you watched the bounty hunters above you placing bets. Hector had just explained to you that the final test was to see who the last man standing was, so your group was locked together in a small pit.
They had given you weapons to choose from. With not much of a choice left, you picked up two daggers and stood beside 10K. “Are you as scared as I am?”
You could hear the tremble in his voice as he spoke, but he lied anyway. “No, we’ve got this. We always find a way.”
Hector waves his hand for the cell door to be opened, “round one.”
A single Z appears, and Addy quickly stabs it in the head.
Hector nods, pretending to be impressed. “Okay, final round.” More than a dozen Z’s charge at the cell door, all snarling desperately to get through to the other side. “I’m going to do you a favour. To speed things up, why don’t we kill the lights? Las Luces.”
The lights went off as the door to the cell opened. The moment the Z’s poured in, the fight to survive started. You stabbed every Z that got close to you in the head. You could feel the blood and guts spattering over you but were pushed back by the urge to vomit.
When the lights came on, you were happy to see all your group unbitten. “It's a wonder you've lived this long. I could use zero’s like you.”
“Can I join your damn club now?” Warren spat.
“Just one more thing…”
You had expected La Reina to say you had more Z’s or with another person to join, but instead her final demand was to look the part.
You sat uncomfortably in a hairdressing chair while a man curled your hair. Makeup was applied to your face the minute after you came out of the shower, as well as having your clothes picked out for you.
A strapless brown leather dress was laid out on the bed, along with black heels. It wasn’t something you’d ever have chosen for yourself, nor was it practical for an apocalypse.
With no choice, you had to go along with La Reina's ridiculous make-up plan. When the hairdresser was finished, you were led into a room where your sister, Doc, and Warren were all ready to go.
“Damn Warren,” you said, noticing how low-cut her dress was at the chest. “I was more afraid to put this thing on the risk of being chased by Z's.”
When you fully entered the room, Doc wolf whistled at you while Addy’s jaw swung open. “You look good, Astra. I don’t think I’ve ever seen you this dressed up before.”
“You too, your heels are very deadly.”
“At the very least, I can use it as a weapon,” she scrunched up her face at the large spikes protruding from her shoes. “I don’t like how shiny we all are.”
Vasquez entered the room next, and straight away his eyes traced every curve on Warren’s body. It was obvious he was starting to develop feelings for her.
“I feel weird,” 10K said, stepping in last. He paused when he noticed you, causing you to blush. His eyes linger on you, “wow.”
“10K roll your tongue back into your mouth,” Warren says, with a hint of amusement in her voice. “We gotta go find out what the hell is going on.”
You let out a huff as another bag was pulled off your head. Since your group was new and not fully trusted yet, you weren’t allowed to see where anything was.
You were led to a balcony that looked over a Day of the Dead themed party. Hector demanded the guests stop what they were doing as their queen approached. La Reina walked out to the balcony directly across the room with a red lace veil covering her face. She pulled it back once she had everyone’s attention, “My people, we have suffered for a very long time. Lives we once knew have been torn apart.”
You zoned out of her speech when you noticed Murphy dressed like a price sitting by the fireplace. Oh shit. Whatever was about to happen wasn’t going to be good.
A zero approach to your group with some of the weapons you came in with. “Tonight we make them one of us!” La Reina pointed over at you.
Warren nodded graciously as the crowd below cheered. She motioned for the rest of you to go look around.
You stood beside your sister at a window looking into the back garden. You noticed some of the cartel members hitting a Z that was hanging upside down with a stick blindfolded. “A zombie pinata? That’s vile. What are they expecting to get out of it?”
She frowned, “drugs.”
You jumped, feeling a hand resting on your back. “God, Tommy, you scared me.”
“My bad,” he smiled. “Astra, you honestly look…”
“Uncomfortable?”
He chuckles. “I was going to say beautiful, but your face looks extremely red. Why would anyone wear those deliberately?”
“All the women here are wearing heels,” you say quietly. “I think the queen likes her people to be dressed a certain way.”
“Why did we all need to get dressed though?" We aren’t her people.”
“Because we are her shiny new toys. Although, I’m guessing the women need to wear these outfits all the time to fit in.”
You kissed 10K on the lips, seeing him pout slightly. He didn’t like the idea of women being dressed up as objects either.
You smile when Doc walks over with a full plate of food, “You kids have got to try—what is she doing?”
You spin round to see Warren running across the room. Your eyes move to Vasquez, who is pointing a gun at Hector. Oh god, it’s him. He’s the one. The penny finally clicked for you and you realised Hector was the one who killed Vasquez's wife and daughter.
Warren knocks the gun out of Vasquez's hand and points it at him while three men grab him and pull him back.
The room fills with cheers of applause and victory as they mistakenly think Warren did that to save the queen of the dead.
“We gotta get out of here. Like now,” Doc says in a hushed tone.
“Yeah, we'll, if I knew what the hell was going on, I might have known what to do,” Addy says sharply. “How did Warren know what he was going to do?”
“He was going to kill Hector.”
“Kid, do you know something we don't?”
“I think so,” you said, looking around at the rest of the cartel. They were staring at the four of you. “I’ll fill you in when we get out of here.”
The music in the room stopped as Kurian approached the queen. “My queen, I have it. I have made the vaccine. The zombie plague is over. I’ve done it.”
You noticed the smug look on Murphy's face. Something wasn’t right.
“What have you done? Tell me!” La Reina demanded.
Kurian held up a small bottle of light pink liquid. “I present to you your H1Z1 vaccine. This serum makes the zombie virus impotent. Now a zombie bite will be like nothing and when you die you stay dead.”
“Show me, show me how this works.”
At his queen's command, Kurian turned to address the rest of the room, “I will just need a volunteer.”
When he smiled in your direction, Addy, Doc and 10K practically shoved you behind them. Kurian smirked and went to say something, but stopped when Hector entered the room with a prisoner.
“I've got the man for you, doctor Kurian,” he says, pushing Vasquez to his knees.
You let out a horrified gasp upon seeing the cuts and bruises that covered Vasquez's face and body.
You held your breath as you watched Vasquez being held in place as Dr. Kurian prepared to inject him with the vaccine.

This is a short one shot from my Wattpad about 10K from Z Nation. Enjoy!
Warnings: None
"And speaking of babies...Present for you." Addy says as she hands 10k a box.
"Billy Boy brand condoms." He reads, confused.
She smirks, "Girl's still out there. You are not gonna die a virgin. I promise. But when it it happens, don't be stupid."
Vasquez nods towards Murphy, "Yeah, like that guy."
10k smiles embarrassed, and looks down. "Actually, I'm not a virgin."
Everyone looks at him, surprised. They all thought he was just cocky because he was an amazing shot. Doc was waiting, but no one spoke up.
"Well, who's the lucky girl?" He asked.
10k smiles as he reminisces about you. "She/he/they had h/l, h/c hair and e/c eyes. Her/his/their name, Y/N L/N. We got separated not too long before I met you guys. I assumed she/he/they was/were dead." His smile falters at the end.
"Where did you last see her/him/them?" Warren asks.
He looks up, "What? Why?"
"We're going to look for her/him/them, that's why."

It was a Tuesday afternoon at Site 230, which meant that interviews, testing, and counseling was not to be held. Marcus Woods found himself using his free time to fingerpaint, as it was something he could safely do without the others interfering like they did when they made him stab that one guy in the arm.
"Ugh, this is sooo boring! I wanna do something fuuuun!" Marcus had to mentally roll his eyes at what he was hearing. The spirit of the famous pop idol "Classy Lassy" Cassidy had manifested and was lying on her back on a nearby table. For being a former national pop idol, she was quite a diva.
"Ah shut yer trap young'n, I gots a 'errible headache." Marcus turned his head to see the lighthouse keeper Rime Turpentine complain, with a hand on his head. It seemed he was nursing a hangover, something that was weird for a ghost to have.
"Why don't you shut yours?" snapped the spirit of former hotel owner Nyx Kalliope. Nods from the manifested spirits of Victorian winemaker Morgan Baker and serial killer Morticia Aeron followed.
"Please," muttered the spirit of the shepherd Jericho. "Please be quiet".
"I quite agree" spoke up the former "Murderous Maid" Teala Vasquez. We are upsetting our generous host. Marcus knew she was addressing him. Ever since he decided to wear this locket, he was cursed to have it on and share his body with these spirits and thirteen others. The one benefit of having a locket with twenty spirits trapped inside was that they were sometimes so focused on battling for control of his body that he could lead a normalish life.
Unfortunately, when they did gain control, they made him commit horrendous murders, which landed him attention by the Serpent's Hand, as they made the original article of jewelry. Based on what the Foundation staff told him, he was a bit glad that the Foundation found him first. He wished to leave but knew the threat he would pose until the locket was emptied.
Until then, he was kept in Site 230, which wasn't anywhere as bad as he thought. The staff was friendly, and there were many other people like him, anomalous, as they were called. The walls were colorful, and the inner courtyard was full of fresh air as opposed to the grimy city he used to live in. Not to mention that Pasta Thursdays were the highlight of the week.
"Yo fleshy, you payin' attention?" Marcus snapped to attention and turned to the infamous murderer Gabriella Emily. She scoffed as she realized Marcus didn't hear the question.
"We asked what you were thinking of dearie," cooed Matilda Dodge. This wasn't anything new from her. Despite her reputation as a mass murdering cannibal, most never knew that she was a kind mother, and probably saw Marcus as a son figure.
"He's p-probably thinking about h-how miserable his life is because of us," stuttered Jules Forth, a man seemingly cursed with permanent unluckiness that landed him in the position of being a spirit.
"Oh, I doubt such a charming friend would be thinking such a horrid thing," responded the flashy photographer Kazuichi Brekker, earning a nod of agreement from the sweet and deadly confectioner Elliot Lundell.
"Or," giggled a voice, "He is thinking such a thing, maybe he wants to cut us up into iiiity bitty pieces!" If Marcus was in an anime, he would've had a sweatdrop appear on his head. Of course, the "Violent Vivisector" Zechariah Z. Zaidan would wish for something like that.
"Leave Forth alone," Irina Kata curtly spoke in a tone that meant total seriousness. Marcus knew she died a bride, so perhaps she saw a bit of her husband in Jules?
"Mister Woods," piped up famed inventor Adam Sivers, "You never answered the question. What were you thinking about?"
Marcus thought for a bit before telling them the truth. That ever since the council member modified the locket to allow them to manifest as spirits only tethered to the locket instead of having to forcibly possess him anytime they wanted to be vocal, he really enjoyed talking to them as people. Silence filled the room.
"Wow, wasn't expecting something like that, considering what we made ya do," muttered Sam Sidney, who used their time in control of Marcus' body to discover the whereabouts of Jack the Ripper.
"Despite what we've done, we're not all terrible people," muttered former police chief Ajax Lycaon, who pointed a finger towards the glass door that led to the courtyard, which had sitting in front of it the solemn father "Herb", the environmentalist honey hunter Ayusha Ranjan, and surprisingly the muscle brute pro gamer known as +1UP. The trio seemed to be people watching those that wandered in and out of the courtyard.
Marcus smiled as he decided to paint the three for his picture. Days like these were treasures to be had, especially since he knew that in a few moments it would probably boil down to a bickering match like it usually did. And considering how Cassidy began to flap her gums, it seemed like he was right. Oh how he wished for some headphones.

A/N: I hope you like this. I havent wrote for Z-nation yet. So I am very excited! Thank you for requesting, if you have any more for z-nation please let me know!
Summary:
Warnings;
Show/movie: Z-Nation
Paring: Murphy x reader
------------------
You’ve had this habit since you were a kid. Every time you were scared you would hold your breath. It was like if you held your breath then time would stop, like nothing could hurt you. You’ve only passed out once from holding your breath and that was when you were in high school having to present your paper in front of your whole class.
You were walking beside Murphy as horse of Zombies rounded a corner. You were spooked and stumbled backwards, but you quickly got up aiming your silver and white .45 pistols at the zombies foreheads. Everyone around you doing the same. You were fine, this was fine, but when you found your group cornered it scared the hell out of you.
“What do we do?” Addy asked warren taking the words from you. “Over here!” 10k said as he found a building that was just a couple meters away in the woods. “Come on.” The group ran. Warren, Addy and you were the first ones inside aiming your guns making sure there wasn’t any zombies. When it was clear the others came in.
It was a small little shack of a house in the woods. It had two bedrooms, a small living room, one tiny bathroom, and the kitchen that looked like it was out dated by 30 years.
“Will stay here until the horde passes.” Warren said as she shut and locked the door. You looked through the shack trying to find anything useful that’s when you opened the bedroom door. A couple bats flew out of the room making you jump and Squeal. Murphy laughed as he sat down beside you on the dusty couch. “What scared of a couple bats?” You shook your head as you continued going into the room.
Whoever was in the room left in a hurry. The Drawers were pulled out of the dresser. Clothes were thrown over the bed. A few pictures crooked on the wall, a few empty, dusty spots on the wall were pictures once were. You heard footsteps behind ou and you turned seeing warren.
“A family.” She said looking at the picture you had plucked from the wall. You nodded, your fingers cleaning the dust off the frame. “You have a family before this?” She asked, you nodded, but also shurgged.
“My baby brother. I took care of him. He, Umm. He died back when all this shit began. He didn’t listen to me and ran out of the house while two or three zombies were right in front of the house. He ran too fast for me to stop him and they killed him right in front of me. Mom, well she’s been out of the picture since I was 13. She decided I was old enough to take care of brother, who was just a baby then. So she ran off with some dude paying for her drugs and my dad died in the service. Back when my brother was born.” You answered tears pricking your eyes but you quickly whiped them away.
“I’m sorry.” Warren sympatheticly Said to you. You nodded as you whispered a “me too”. Warren walked out of the bed room as you sat down on the bed. Just staring at the picture in your hand. You weren’t an emotional person. You rarely showed when you were upset. Ever since you were young you had to act like nothing was wrong. As if your life was just sunshine, rainbows, and unicorns. But truthfully you just felt overwhelmed. Life was just being overwhelming.
“Can I come in?” Murphy asked as he walked up to the door frame. You looked up at him nd nodded. “What’s up, buttercup?” He asked sitting beside you and bumping your arm. “The sky.” You joked sarcastically with a smile. “I have got to learn to stop saying that. You say that every time.” You giggled as you looked down at your hands. Putting the picture frame onto the dresser then laying down on the bed.
“Do you ever feel overwhelmed?” You asked, completely forgetting who you were talking to. “Uh, hi my name is Murphy. People call me the Murphy. Nice to meet you.” He said sarcastically. You rolled your eyes as you faced him. “I hate you.” He knew you didn’t mean that. The two of you had a weird friendship. You both ran into each other when he first became the mission. You actually talk to him as if he were a person, not as “the package.” You friendship grew into more of an relationship but neither would admit it. I mean the two of you have came so close to kissing but 10k or doc always interrupts.
“Sorry, bad question.” You spoke. Putting your arm over your eyes, blocking the sunlight. You felt the bed shift and automatically assumed he was leaving. But when you felt the bed shift and an arm slip around you, you didn’t jump. You knew the only person who would wrap their arms around you would be Murphy.
“What’s got you so stressed?” He asked his arms wrapped around you as the two of you spooned. Him being the big spoon holding you. And you resting against his chest enjoying the comfort.
“I don’t know. Life.” You laughed and shrugged. “It’s just. We’re taking you to California and we don’t even know what’s going to happen to you. I mean, they could just be killing you. Or torcher you or something. I don’t know. I-I’m just over thinking is all.” You spoke looking at the white wall in front of you. Murphy sighed as he pulled you so he could look at you correctly. He stared into your Y/e/c eyes and smiled. He leaned forwards kissing your forehead.
“You don’t have to worry about me.” He tried to get her to stop worrying. He didn’t want to go to California. He too was worried about going. He wouldn’t tell anyone that but he truly was.
“You guys are gross.” 10k said as he just so happen to walk into the room. “Kid, you don’t know gross.” You told him with a laugh. He nodded as he looked at you. “I just wanted to sleep on a bed while we had one, but you two have this one occupied and warren decided I could sleep in this one since addy had called the other one. Just as Murphy was about to say something you covered his mouth with your hand. “Of course. Come in lazy get up!” You said as your tried to pull out of Murphy’s thought grip. He groaned as he released you. “And for a minute I thought we were having a moment.” 10k laughed, “yeah a gross moment.”
An hour passed and the horde passed. You sat on the couch as Murphy laid across it, his head lying on your lap as doc sat across from you on a small love seat. “Is it weird?” Doc asked looking at you and Murphy. “Is what weird?” You asked completely confused at what Doc was asking. “Being in a relationship during the zombie apocalypse.” He answered looking at the two of you. You looked at him bewildered. “We-” “we’re not in a relationship.” Murphy ended the conversation quickly. He got grumpy all of a sudden. As if someone had just bursted his bubble. “Oh, sorry. It just seems like the two of you are a couple. I could’ve bet the two of you were together like a couple.” You nodded not knowing what to say.
“I don’t think he likes me like that.” You say all of a sudden without thinking. Murphy grows stiff and then tried to relax. “How is that? I mean he is literally only nice to you.” You just then began to think about it. Yeah the two of you flirted all the tile, but you never thought it was more then a flirty friendship.
“Alright, it’s clear of puppies and kittens I think we should get going.” Warren said as she came back inside the house. “I found a truck well take that. It’ll get us pretty far. Grab your stuff and take it to the truck. We’re leaving.” You grabbed your book bag and your rifle you carried. Your book bag had what you needed in it. (First aid kit, emergency food that you don’t plan on telling anyone about until it is needed. A water bottle. Stuff to make a fire, And girl stuff aka (pads, tampons, and Midol, and other pain meds.)
You sat in the bed of the pick up truck. The inside on fit three people. So you, Murphy and 10k sat in the bed of the truck. Addy, warren and doc sat in the cab of the truck. The truck was running good and somehow had a full tank of gas with an extra tank of gas on the back of it. It was complete luck finding the truck.
Days passed when you guys finally ran out of gas. The only thing was a storm had came. You hated storms. It was like it was a little bit of rain and wind. Heck, you would welcome that with open arms. But no, it had to be nothing but wind that seemed to be going 30 miles an hour, it was pouring rain and the thunder and lightning scared you every time you would hear the loud crashing boom.
“Are you okay?” Murphy asked, you jumped as the loud boom shook the store the group had found. “Yeah, just hate storms is all.” You spoke quickly looking at Murphy then jumping Sharon as you felt the store shake. Holding your breath as you sat down with you back against the wall and you head in your hands.
The group left you alone for a few minutes, just thinking you needed to be alone for a few minutes. But that is until you had passed out. Murphy was right by your side before anyone could get to you.
You had stopped breathing which worried him to death. “She’s stopped breathing!” He stressed looking at the group. He shook you some then he decided to give you mouth to mouth. (That’s how bad you had stopped breathing he thought you were dead. Geez gotta worry the group girl. 😂)
With a gasp you woke up. Looking at Murphy as he was practically holding you in his arms. “Wha-t happen?” You asked while sitting up. “You passed out from the lack of oxygen.” You looked at doc confused until you remembered. “Oh,” addy nodded, “Yeah, you have a bad habit of holding your breath while your scared. You gotta get out of that habit.” You nodded as you looked at Murphy and then to 10k who was just staring.
“What ya staring at?” You asked the kid. “Nothing, it’s just. Nothing.” He shook his head. “What I think he’s trying to say Is the two of you are still holding onto each other like it’s y’all last day on earth.” Doc finished for 10k. “Y’all need to kiss already and get the gross part over with.” Everyone looked at Warren shocked. She usually was not really into the gushy relationship stuff.
Murphy rolled his eyes as he looked down at your blushing self. You looked at him and shurgged. “Just get it over with. I can’t deal with you two staring at each other while the other isn’t looking.” Both of you rolled your eyes as you looked at each other. Looking into his eyes you placed a quick kiss to his lips. Everyone sighed shaking their heads. “That wasn’t barely even a peck.” Addy teased looking at you and you shook your head at her. Murphy pulled you closer stopping you from asking what he was doing with a passionate kiss.
“Wow.” You whispered, looking into his eyes. Kinda in shock. “Yeah,” he agreed looking in your e/y/c eyes. “That was cute, but now we need to get some sleep if we’re gonna get walking tomorrow.” Everyone nodded grabbing blankets they had found in the store making a makeshift beds and trying to go to sleep. Warren deciding to take first shift to stay up. Taking her spot beside the only entrance to the store.
You lied down beside Murphy. His arms comfortably wrapped around you as the two of you quickly fell asleep. This is where your safe place was, Murphy. He just seemed to ground you. And that’s the way he felt with you. The two of you just grounded each other.
And that’s the way I’m ending this story. Lol 😂 hope y’all liked it! ❤️🖤
Request for Z nation are welcome.

Inside, outside
Pairing: 10k x reader, Addy Carver x sister reader
Warnings: swearing, smut
Chapter: 2.14
“We were completely different at school. Addy was always popular. I was really shy, the type of shy where you're too scared to put your hand up in class in case nobody cares what you had to say.”
“Could've bet on you being the quiet sibling,” Doc chuckled before joining your sister in trying to figure out why the car broke down.
“I like that you are quiet. Quiet people are always underestimated,” 10k smiled. “Well, everyone except you. I’ve always been able to see how badass you are.”
Your lips pressed together as you smiled. You turned to look up at him as he sat on a piece of metal behind you. 10k quickly jumped down to sit beside you and pressed a kiss to your forehead.
“You two make me sick,” Murphy says, scrunching his nose up. His facial expression changes from disgust to annoyance when he sees 10k lighting a cigarette. “Where the hell did you get those?”
10k takes a puff of his cigarette without answering him. Rolling your eyes, you pull out a carton with a few cigarettes left and toss it to Murphy.
Happy that he had gotten some, Murphy walked away to annoy someone else, but Warren stepped in front of him. “Looks like we are going by foot. Grab what you can.”
Everyone collected their stuff, making sure they had everything they needed, aside from Murphy, who sat pouting. You smirked, “Come on, princess, she means you too.”
“How far is it to this supposed rendezvous?” Murphy asks as your group continues to walk through what looks like a very large junkyard.
“A day walk. Maybe two,” your sister answers.
“Everything looks the same.”
You let out a snort, “a zombie apocalypse and a nuke will do that.”
The next few hours went by fast when the conversation turned to what everyone was doing when the apocalypse started. Warren was working at her posted military base. Murphy was in prison. Doc was working as an addiction counsellor when the Z’s attacked. 10k was fishing when he got surrounded, but his dad saved him. Addy was at an ice hockey game and met Mack while escaping. It was bittersweet hearing people talk about him. It made you miss the way things used to be.
You roll your eyes as Murphy continues to moan. “Does anyone even know where we are? It feels like we’ve been walking forever.”
“Somewhere outside sunny California.”
“Seriously, how much further? I don’t feel so good.”
“We should take a break,” Warren says before sitting down.
After a few moments of silence, Addy jumps to her feet. “It can’t be,” she says, turning to look at you with a blank expression on her face. “Where was the one place we always wanted to go as kids? The one place dad always said he’d take us but never did.”
It took you a few seconds to remember, but your eyes widened when you did. “Get out, it can’t be.”
“For real.”
“Well?” Murphy huffed, unimpressed. “Where are we?”
“Disneyland.”
“Uh huh,” Addy shook her head. “Hard to tell for sure, but I think a small world would have been right over there.”
She points to a large pile of rubble.
“Hey, do you still take pictures to document the apocalypse?” 10k asked, pointing to the ‘happiest place on earth’ sign that was still intact.
“I still have my camera, but I ran out of film a while ago. Shame that would have been a good one.”
You stared out at the large hole in the wall as the night got darker while the rest of your group finished eating their rations for that night. You sighed, “I’m gonna take a look around. Make sure we are the only ones here.”
“I’ll go with you,” 10k said before finishing the last of his food.
Warren looked unsure as her eyes moved between you. “Fine, but make sure you're back for us leaving. I don’t want to waste time in the morning sending out a search party.”
“I think I’ve found something.”
You toss the box you’d been looking through onto the ground to search for 10k. You’d searched the small building for Z’s and found none, along with no supplies.
The area you were standing in was nothing but four brick walls, dirt, dust, and rumble. You scanned the room, trying to figure out where 10k had gone. “Tommy?”
You let out a squeal and jumped when a metallic clanging noise rang out from behind you. Spinning quickly, you see that 10k has dropped ladders down from a higher ledge. Laughing your fright off, you climb up them to see what he’s found.
“I guess someone was living up here,” 10k says, taking off his shoes.
“What are you doing?”
“Getting comfy,” he smiles.
Once you are up on the ledge, he pulls the ladder back up to stop any Z’s from joining you. The previous person who’d been staying in the building had managed to find a mattress, bed covers, and pillows, which was rare.
You lean back into the bed and stare up at the darkening sky, watching a flock of birds fly by. 10k rolled onto his side to face you, “How’s Addy doing? She seemed pretty upset before.”
“It’s hard for her to talk about Mack. Hell, I miss him like crazy and I thought he was a pain in the ass most of the time… I don’t know how she does it. If she hadn’t met Mack that night, neither of us would have made it this far. I wouldn’t have made it on my own.”
“It’s easier than you think. I did it for a long time. After my pa turned, it was just me until I met all of you guys.”
“I’m glad you did.” You let out a small chuckle. “I’ve lost count how many times you’ve saved my ass.”
He brushes a strand of hair out of your face, “it’s just what we do, save each other.”
“Tommy, I uh…” you said nervously, biting your bottom lip. “I need to say what I’m about to say, not because I want you to say it back, but because I need you to know how I feel in case something happens to me. I’m in love with you.”
10k shuffles awkwardly as he remains speechless. He looked down and mumbled something you don’t quite make out.
“What?”
“I'm afraid to say it,” he says quietly, “I told my ma I loved her before going to make her some breakfast, and when I came back she'd died in her sleep. I told my pa I loved him before he went out hunting and got bit. I- I just can’t say it.”
“Then don’t,” you say softly.
You lean forward and kiss him. When you pull back, 10k has a look of guilt on his face. “I know you care, Tommy. I see it every time you risk your life for mine or someone else you care about.”
10k kisses you again, but this time it’s different. It feels more urgent. In one swift motion, 10k wraps his arms around you and rolls you so you are on top of him. You deepen the kiss and only pull away to remove your top and bra. His hands start to roam, up your arms to your shoulders, and they stop when they reach your breasts. 10k looks up at you nervously, “Is this okay?”
You nodded before finding his lips again. You move off his lap and start to undress each other. You lie side by side on the bed with only the blanket covering your bodies. 10k lets out a quiet moan when you start kissing his jawline and neck as you wrap your hands around him, moving your hands slowly.
After a couple of minutes, you feel 10k’s body tense up. “Wait,” he mumbles. “I don’t want to ruin this by…. Ya know… too soon.”
“We don't have to-”
10k smiled at you before cutting you off with a kiss. “I want to. I’ve just never done it before.”
Knowing you’ve got hours until sunrise, you and 10k spent the next few hours exploring each other’s bodies. Spending the night with 10K made you feel normal. It was what you imagined a normal relationship was like, instead of one person always needing to stay awake to watch for any signs of danger.
10k finally lines himself up with you, “ready?”
You nod, letting him know you're ready. At first, his movements are clumsy, but he soon finds a steady rhythm and his pace quickens. You let out a moan when 10k reaches his hand between your bodies, touching your small bundle of nerves. Seeing how much you like it, 10k repeats this action before you finally reach your climax.
You stifle your moans by kissing 10k roughly moaning into his mouth, causing him to reach his own climax.
10k presses his sweaty forehead against yours as he catches his breath. “You okay?”
“Better than okay,” you giggle.
10k presses a kiss to your cheek before moving. A few moments later, he lays down beside you again and wraps his arms around you, saying, “We should try and get some sleep.”
You and 10k reached the building you were in previously just as the rest of your group walked out of it. Warren smiles at you widely and says, “Good, I was just about to send out that search party.” When you tie your hair up, her gaze lingers on you for a longer period of time than usual, asking, “Did you find anything useful?”
“Just a few blankets,” you say, feeling the sides of your ears starting to heat up.
You stand confused when Doc suppresses a laugh as he walks by you, while Warren gives you a strange look. You turn to face Addy, “Did I miss something?”
She taps her finger against your bruised neck, “You are covered in hickeys.”
Mortified, you quickly let your hair down. Your eyes met 10k's, and his cheeks flushed red with embarrassment.
“You better have used those condoms I gave you,” Addy says quietly. She gives you a serious look when you don’t answer right away, “I’m serious, Astra, you can’t risk not being safe in an apocalypse.”
“Yes, we were safe,” you whisper. “Now please drop it.”
Addy smiles and wraps her arm around your shoulder, “Good.”
While the rest of your group walked ahead, you slowed your pace so that you were beside Vasquez. You’d noticed he’d seemed more vacant than usual and wanted to comfort him somehow, although with Vasquez it was tricky. The balance between being helpful and pissing him off was thin.
"So you're not going to ask what’s bothering me?"
“No,” you say, shaking your head. “I hung back because I’m sick of listening to one cry baby. I don’t need to hear another.”
Vasquez let out a rare chuckle. “I never imagined the saviour of the world would moan so much.”
You roll your eyes, “Tell me about it.”
A few moments passed before Vasquez spoke again. “You never said where you were when the apocalypse started.”
You told him the same story you’d shared with 10k previously. “What about you? Where were you?”
“With my wife and daughter… I was at their funeral. I had to show them mercy.”
You felt a lump form at the back of your throat. Although everyone had lost loved ones, Vasquez had been through a lot before the apocalypse had even started, which explained why he was so cold when you first met.
“Are we there yet?”
“You’ve been asking that for the past 3000 miles,” Warren sighs.
“Yeah, I know,” Murphy continues. “But this time I really mean it. Seriously, shouldn’t we be there by now?”
“It should be on the other side of these trees,” Addy adds.
When you step out of the forest onto a main road, you are taken aback by how fresh the sea air is.
“Damn it’s the Pacific Ocean,” Doc says, stepping forward to get a better look.
The scenery was beautiful. It was the first place you’d seen in a long time that was tainted with death. You turn your head in either direction to look for a lab or hospital type building, but all you see is a small restaurant. “This can’t be right.”
Addy looks down at her GPS, “According to this, it’s right.”
“This isn’t what I was expecting.”
“Maybe it’s just another front for an ungrounded lab,” 10k suggests.
Murphy rambles on, “or maybe it’s just another greasy diner! Another cosmic joke at my expense!”
Warren ignores him and says that the building still needs to be checked out. “I don’t want us all to go walking into some kind of trap. So me and Vasquez will go in light and check it out. The rest of you guys stay here with Murphy and get him into this.”
Warren tosses you a bag with a change of clothes in it.
Murphy's eyes move from the bag in your arms to Warren, “oh hell no.”
“Oh hell yes. I don’t want anybody to recognise you. There are probably some bounty hunters lurking around that heard one of those broadcasts. We did not get you this far to lose you to neo-nazi-numbskulls.”
Murphy huffed, “Yes, dear. Anything you say, dear.”
“Thank you,” Warren says sarcastically before looking at the rest of the group. “If we’re not out in ten minutes…”
“We’ll come bursting in after you,” Addy says.
“No, you need to protect the package. Contact Citizen Z for instructions.”
Murphy starts to get changed while the rest of you watch in silence as Warren and Vasquez make their way inside the restaurant.

Fire on Fire: Part 15 (10k)
Tumblr media
Warnings: cursing, character doing stupid things, smut blood and violence.
Pairing: 10k x mom!reader
                                              Chapter 15
I watched as his chest rose and fell. I didn’t sleep, I couldn’t, my mind racing with thoughts of betrayal. The idea of going and getting Emma myself was prominent and badgering.
Then I thought about him, how he’d feel, and the endless possibilities of death or worse. There was also the possibility of losing my group, never to see them again, see him.
I was having doubts, and we’d lost so many people trying to get Murphy this far. I didn’t want to die.
I sighed and rubbed my face, careful not to wake him as I scooted closer. 10k immediately reacted, still asleep. A small smile played on my lips, I couldn’t leave him at least I didn’t think I could.
Resting my head on his chest I closed my eyes, I was at least going to try and get some sleep. I yawned, sinking into his warmth, he melted away all my worries stilling my restless mind allowing myself to fall asleep.
-
The way I’d been awoken was interesting to say the least but I wasn’t complaining. My back arched as 10k brought my clit into his mouth, sucking viciously. I writhed aching for more friction but this caused him to wrap a well toned arm around my waist, keeping me anchored.
I whined craving more of him, but he kept with his brutal attack on my clit. His teeth gently nipped at the sensitive bundles, I was so fucking close. For a guy who didn’t really know what he was doing months ago he sure as hell knew how to make me cum.
My fingers snaked into his longer locks, gripping at them tightly as he entered two fingers. Slowly pumping as he continued to solely focus on the bundle of nerves.
He managed to curl his fingers just right hitting that sweet spot. My vision became blurry the closer I got to my orgasm. My back arched as far as it could go with him still holding me down.
“Fuck, fuck, fu-“ I came with a scream, one surely everyone could’ve heard. I laid there shaking at the overload, as he came up for air wiping myself from his mouth with a smile clearly proud of himself.
He gave me a chaste kiss, and slid off the bed. “I’m gonna grab us some food real quick” another peck and he was running out the cabin with nothing but pants on.
I sat up trying to compose myself and catch my breath. The shaking slowly came to a stop as my breathing regulated. Finally I had the courage to stand on shaky feet and head to the bathroom.
There wasn’t any running water but we’d managed to boil some water from a nearby stream and fill the tub with it. Sadly it was cold now, I sighed and stepped in sucking in a sharp breath at how cold it really was.
I sat there for a moment letting the frigid water cool my overheated skin. I scrubbed at my skin until it felt raw, savoring the feeling of getting clean.
I stepped out of the tub and dried off quickly, finally putting my clothes back on just as he came back with breakfast. Smiling I took the bowl from and began eating. We ate in silence as we packed away our things.
We walked outside after getting everything packed, meeting back up with the team. He took the lead, walking in front of me. I fell back keeping my eyes on the ground, I only looked up when I felt someone beside me.
Addy gave me a small smile, “What’re you thinking about?” I only scoff, I wish she didn’t know me so well some times.
“Emma” I answered honestly, was I really about to tell her what I was planning. I guess I had to. I sighed, “I’m going back for her”
“We’ll come with you once we drop off Murphy” she said, nodding at my idea.
I shook my head, “No, I’m going alone”
She almost stopped in her tracks, glancing up at Doc who was no doubt eavesdropping. He looked back confirming that he indeed was listening in and fell back with us.
“What about the kid?” He nodded his head at the oblivious 10k, who was talking to Warren farther ahead of us.
“Take care of him” I simply said, earning a look from the both of them.
“What about us?” Addy asked, knowing I was throwing away years of friendships for probably the stupidest thing i’ve done.
“You’ll find me again” I was sure they would, they were good like that. They both stopped in their tracks, Addy was the first to pull me in a hug, doc wrapped around the both of us. They pulled away and we started walking again to catch up.
“Are you sure?” Doc asked and I just nodded. I knew I was being selfish, but I had no clue what I had ahead of me especially not at this drop off. I was better off taking my chances on the road again then the unknown of what was about to happen.
“We’ll find you” Addy promised, Doc gave a nod in agreement. It fell silent as we kept walking. I looked up at 10k, he was the love I didn’t know I needed. I was a bitch for doing this but I’d made up my mind.
Slowly a restaurant came into view, this was it. Warren and Vazquez went in first to check it out, moments passed by until they came out giving a thumbs up.
Doc and Addy glanced back at me as they headed toward the rundown restaurant. I gave them a small smile and wave. I came up behind 10k and rubbed his arm.
He looked down at me lowering his gun. “I’ll be in soon, just gotta go to the bathroom.” I gave  him a small smile, he nodded and gave me a kiss. One I would savour forever. I watched as he headed inside, tears pooling in my eyes as I hoped he would forgive me.
I took a calming breath and turned on my heel to the direction we’d just come. “I love you Tommy” I whispered leaving everything I knew behind for a selfish reason.
If I were to rationalize it, it was because everything was about Murphy and that it would never be about anyone else. No one else was important, was it selfish to say? Probably but also was it true? Absolutely.
How many people had we lost getting this far? At this point I think it was too many to count. I didn’t want to be next, I wouldn’t be next. I was choosing me and fuck I hated myself for it. The tears fell down as my legs carried me.
-
10k laid on the floor, grasping at the stinging wound blood pooling from it. Doc applied pressure causing a grunt to fall from his lips.
It was in this moment he’d realized he completely forgot about y/n, that she wasn’t anywhere to be found.
“Where’s y/n?” he asked painfully. Doc and Addy shared a look. “I need her” he whimpered out. Doc closed his eyes tightly.
“She’s right outside okay? Just close your eyes and try to relax” Warren said gently. 10k tried to relax as he closed his eyes, trying to not focus on the pain or the tear that fell down his cheek.

I'd love to take a minute to express my utter displeasure about who is considered expendable in Z Nation. In season 2 the group nearly leaves 10k behind after the group split up in different directions to get to safety. Doc talks about looking for 10k but eventually he is talked into leaving him behind. Yet later on in the season when Vasquez is a prisoner of the Zeros Warren insists that they save him because he's important to the group, even though the entire reason Vasquez was taken was that in a room crowded with Zeros he tried to kill El Scorpion. His own stupidity and impatience got him in trouble, when what happened to 10k was just bad luck. How does a character who only just joined the group earlier in the season, and is only with them to collect a bounty, end up ranking higher than the kid who has saved their asses countless times and has been with them since the beginning.
