Gucci Fall 2016 RTW
Backstage is by far the best way to see how good Michele is. Each stand for every model looks like a mini-store in itself, with giant suede wedges and ’70s lamé disco sandals standing on shoe boxes, so you can see the serpents tooled inside the heels, the diamante-framed ’80s sunglasses, the earrings, the net-veiled hats, the velour wide-brimmed fedoras, the turbans, the ankle-length socks with the grabby graphic of the Gucci luggage-stripe around the top.

‘Monster Children’ Celebrates Its 50th Issue
Since launching back in 2003, Campbell Milligan and Chris Searl’s Australia-based Monster Children has developed a global cult following thanks to its blend of surf and skate culture and focus on art, design, music and photography — not to mention a lauded list of contributors that includes everyone from Spike Jonze, Mike D, and Jason Lee to Hedi Slimane, Anton Corbijn and more. Now, after dropping a celebratory tome back in 2013 and introducing “Longform” with Mark Gonzales last year, MC is launching its 50th issue.

Quote
Million of items of the outward order are present to my sense which never properly enter into my experience. Why? Because they have no interest for me. My experience is what I agree to attend to. Only those items which I notice shape my mind without selective interest, experience is an utter chaos.

Chic Leather Djellabas by Paul Rowland
Legendary casting agent Paul Rowland is credited with making the careers of the industry’s top models (Kate Moss, being one), founding two modeling agencies (Women in 1988 and Supreme in 2000), and with broadening the industry’s overall view of beauty. He also headed up Ford Model’s women’s department from 2010-2012, but unlike most agents, Rowland is a true visual artist in several senses of the word; He’s a painter and a photographer with a rare eye for spotting unconventional beauty and transforming it into the look of the moment, so scouting models became a byproduct of his talent. The last time that he spoke to the New York Times, Rowland’s famous last words were, “Honestly, all I want to do is open an art gallery in Morocco.”
