I have so much love for the people who are reclaiming that character from its creator. Like, good. You guys have made more content with it than he ever did. You've taken the disjointed bits and never elaborated on parts and half-finished explanations and fleshed it out with more care than that one guy ever had for anything or anyone.

It sucks that something as near and dear to me as the DSMP has been tainted by horrific actions of some of its creators. That's obviously not the worst part of the whole situation, and shouldn't be the main focus. But fuck it, i'm not letting them ruin the stories and characters that in large part, only came together because of the fandom. I will make characters into ocs if I have to.

Not weird at all. hugs for you dude,,, I'm so sorry it's affecting you so much.

I can't say I'm not also incredibly disappointed in cc!Wilbur's lack of accountability or integrity in his apology, even though I never directly supported or followed any of the ccs. It's a horrible thing to witness, especially after hearing Shubble's personal statement.

And I want everyone to know that you don't ever have to feel guilty for investing so much of your time or love into a cc or their projects, after it's revealed that they've done something terrible.

It's natural to feel betrayed and angry and disappointed, but please know that you did not waste your time. None of it was pointless; especially not your love for the character they acted or wrote for, nor for the story they made together. It was something you loved, for whatever reason you had, and loving something will never be a waste of time--even if it doesn't end well.

And you do not have to feel guilty for potentially coming back around and enjoying those things again like you once did, or still loving it. So long as you keep a safe distance and don't directly (or indirectly) support them anymore.

Just know you'll eventually get through these confusing and upsetting feelings. And if it gets hard, talking about it with a friend or someone in the community always helps. You're never alone.

I wish Shelby all the best and want to say she's so brave for speaking out, and for her to be so supported by her community and co-workers is amazing to see. Her, and everyone else personally affected by William Gold's abuse, deserve the world and endless support.

Stay safe and remember that distractions and distancing are okay if this situation is affecting you mentally. Take care, everyone.
