I never knew love not until I learned how to forgive myself for the little things I tried but failed to do. I've always thought that love is all about giving,sacrificing, and making people happy.

But sometimes, love is courage. It is having enough bravery to do the uncomfortable. Love is gathering strength to admit your greatest sin. Love is accepting that some things are not meant to be.

I never knew love not until I learned how to forgive myself for the little things I tried but failed to do. Loving yourself first is a form of unconditional love too.

Like endless skies, deep waters, smoky mornings, and poured drinks

You tame me with your eyes, drown me with your voice, baffle me with your words, and intoxicate me with your soul. Clarity is a myth, an ever changing rhythm I can never recognize.

And amidst this confusion, you won't find me looking for a remedy.

And in clarity, it's you I will seek.

If this is love, leave in me in a chaotic mess that I will find harm in peace.

I pity the butterflies present when I saw you.

Us meeting was not a satisfying click that says perfection. It was not a romantic blur with you as the subject. There was no music, no ringing bells, nor singing angels.

Us meeting created an explosion. It was a deafening blow that put me out of balance. It blurred reality and madea crazy in between. Is it love? Hate? Is the past still relevant? Are you my most awaited future?

I pity the butterflies present when I'm with you, For nothing can save them from the feelings I have for you.

Little me thought, tomorrow, she'll wake up and have the best day. She thought that a day can go by and nothing will go wrong. She expected fun things, she planned exciting games, she prepared for scolding, and faked forced naps.

Little me thought of everything— she got everything. Well, almost everything.

She always thought of someone who will come in the next hundred moons. A person who will know every part of her, someone who will laugh at the same jokes, love the same games, and dream the same dream.

The sun rose, then set, the moon was full, then eclipsed—

but no one came.

I thought of menial days, prepared for the worst, hoped for adventures, and longed for sleep. Not daring to think of a person to make it easy— embarrassed by that naivete. But still, in my most intimate moments, I pray with all my soul that someday all will be better.

I thought of everything— I got everything. Everything.

You came, and the sun brightened the rain, showering my world with jewel, still among it your eyes were the brightest.

You arrive neither too early nor too late. Just in time, you made me complete.

Gone were the days I believed you were the one,

Gone were the days, i despised the rays of the sun,

Gone were the days, i thought i could do was run.

Hun, after 3 years, i found myself.

Hun, finally, i am free from your grasp.

It could be love,

It could be anything you want.

But, Hun, all I want

Is to be free from your grasp,

Find myself, and never look back.

You were everything to me,

A love song, the sweetest dream.

Yet, it all turned bittersweet,

When I woke up without you beside me.

I love you in ways words can’t say,

No ocean nor mountain can be in the way,

Heavenly bodies I conquered,

For you. But all it took was her smile,

For you to be gone,

And forget what was ours.

It could be love,

I disagree. Everything has started to come back since you died. Memories wreck my already tattered mind, drowning me in sorrow.  I know your gone, but every little thing I see screams your soul.

I still don’t have that full understanding  of the concept of love. But I can’t help but think about love when I see you.

I am surprised that some people still don’t understand what love means.

Love is not a single one-shoe-fits-all cycle and combination of feelings. It’s not always about the butterflies. It’s not as simple as the racing heart beat, high pitched squeals, or sweaty palms. It’s not really about the poetic words or the love songs you play every time. Not even the sensual touch, lingering kisses, or the maps we create on each other’s skin.

Love is little bit of everything. Love is when you feel at home. It is where you release the heaviest sigh after the most tiring day. Love is peace with contentment. Love is the tightest hug you give. Love is the most painful tear. Love is the heart wrenching goodbye you’ve said. 

Love is when you feel everything at once, but ran out of words to describe. 

This is love.

I love you. Have you eaten? Are you feeling alright? I’ve brought you your favorite. I saved you a seat. Let me get that for you. Let me carry that for you. You can wear mind. I’ll share mine. I waited for you. I am sorry. You are the best. I believe in you. I’ll be here every step of the way. I understand. I’m always here. That was wrong. We could solve this together. Let me give you a hug. You should apologize. You are my person.

You never said you loved me. But I knew that love lies in the details.

You made me feel loved.

Time is a confusing element.  How can you end my eternity in minute?

It took me hours of conversations to see how interesting you are. A glance was all you needed to decide that you wanted to know me.

It took me coffee, movie, and night dates to know how alike we are. A glance at my favorite shirt told you we’ll jive.

It took me months of debating with myself to finally admit that I love you. A glance told you that it was love at first sight. 

But, it took me years to forget the dreams that we had. A glance told you that we never really had a chance.
