Learning from mistakes
Tumblr media
Today was absolutely wonderful. Although I don't have many photographs I did do a lot more than I expected.
I finished two pending notebooks in the morning. Did half of my English homework.
I took a break, used it to collect information from lecture videos.
Did some physics in the morning, I completed everything I wanted to. After that, I took a break and finished chores. Then I sat down to do politics but got distracted by some other work. I played with my little brother who woke up with an eye flu this morning. We fantasized our bedroom. Turned our blankets into an island and pretended the rest of the room was an ocean an the furniture was mountains.
I fell asleep somewhere around 5 and woke up at 8:45. Finished a couple paragraphs in my English textbook.
Worked on politics after that and completed my set quota. Now, I'm about to go sleep.
After all this work, it truly feels well-deserved.
Good night!!

Back on the treadmill
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
Honestly, I have no idea what I've actually done today.
I know that I'm getting back there. U don't have to run the marathon if you don't want to. Truth is, you can't really run the marathon if you can't face a treadmill. Start small, go slow, focus on the long run.

Last minute life hack
I learned the best way to score well with just one day prep is by learning the answer scheme.
Do practise questions and rewrite or review the answers provided.
While taking your exam, make sure you attempt everything. Even if you don't know the answer, just write down whatever comes to mind regarding the question. Before you realise it, you would have got the target required.
Honestly, I'm counting on better planning for my next exams so I'm prepared way ahead of time.
With that being said, here's what I did today:
1. Completed Biology portions
2. Completed an entire chapter on chemistry
Didn't get to do a lot but thankfully I'll be able to complete the portions tomorrow morning.

Igniting the flame again
So... I wrote my math exam yesterday and as soon as I was done, I just knew in my heart that I had made careless mistakes and that I had disappointed myself.
When I back to class, I started preparing for my next exam almost immediately.
I remember vividly crying in the examination hall and cursing myself all the way home.
Today, i realised that all of last week, I was fighting my fading wick. I was burning out, I hated doing work I normally love and as soon as I figured it out, I stopped.
I took a break, I was asleep for a couple of hours this afternoon and honestly I'm so glad I did that.
This blog was a big part of last week, it gave me a reason to study. I did this, initially for myself and now I'm glad that people outside appreciate it.
It may be just a click of a button to you, but for me, it means the world that I've found a purpose to learn. I've started enjoying the process again and I have huge hopes for my last exams.
From the bottom of my heart, I thank this place for being my getaway from the world.
Thank you.

Exam Prep
So... I'm new to this city, this school and the CBSE syllabus. I've been killing myself here trying to learn all this stuff.
I had my history, geography, economics and politics yesterday.
I have my computers exam today and I have opened the book for the first time ever, this morning. Hopefully, they won't ask anything I don't already know.
Even if they do, it's on me.
Anyways, I hope you are a lot more sensible than me and don't leave your examination preparation for the last minute.
Good day to you.

there will never be a perfect time. you will never be 100% ready. the stars will never be 100% aligned for you to study.
so stop waiting for the perfect opportunity, because every opportunity is perfect.

I am hungry. For knowledge. For literary terms. For meaning of most weird words. For academic validation. For books. For education. For my notebooks to be filled with equations. For binding the pages of rough notes. For all my pens to be eventually used. For intellect. For igniting Debates. For studying harder than most people. For falling asleep on while making notes. For the studious tag. For reading so much and knowing everything. For having an answer to every academic question. For discussing most hated topics. For learning. For being Known for my intelligence. I am hungry for carving my name as the most skilled & knowledgeable girl.

July 16th:
Decided to take it easy today. I did two and a half hours reviewing my mistakes from the second simulated exam. I wrote down the multiple choice questions I missed and worked through what I got wrong on the task based simulations and now feel like I'm understanding my mistakes better. I'll review a bit more tomorrow and then take the final review simulated exam since the actual exam is this Wednesday.
Today's accounting topic: In a review engagement of a nonissuer, assessment of control risk is not required.
Other activity: I got tired of being sleepy today and decided to sleep until I wasn't tired anymore. I slept until I physically couldn't anymore and then went to studying. It was a lot easier to focus.

Woke up early to prepare for my art exam. Its pretty new to me, never really taken an art exam before. Barely even heard of one.
I printed out references to help cover the syllabus.
We have our class assembly tomorrow, had to work extra hours for that.
Decided to take on practise qs while watching Lorelai ruin Rory.
Honestly, this episode showed me the root of Rory's downfall. She lied to Dean, thanks to her mother, and got away with it.
I understand that Lorelai was going through something, this episode really higlights Lorelai's heart break after Max.
Yet, Rory ruined her life because of small moments like this.
If you care enough, tell me what you think.
Anyways, going to get up early tomorrow and finish up final revisions.

Appropriate reading and note taking strategies📚
1. Reading for information 📋
This is for finding specific details like dates, statistics, when an artist died, etc.
• Reading strategy: Start by scanning. Search text looking for keywords and phrases, moving your eye fast, and not attempting to take in whole sentences (like when using a telephone directory)
• Note-taking strategy: You could highlight specific parts of the text and note down key information and full details of the source
2. Reading for understanding 🤔
This is to get the main idea and a general overview of the text. You may then decide to read in more depth if you need to.
• Reading strategy: Start with skimming. Read introductions and conclusions. Look at headings, subheadings, and the beginnings and endings of paragraphs. You might read the full text only once
• Note-taking strategy: You could highlight key bits of text but make sure you also annotate to clarify why you have highlighted it. Summarise the main idea in your own words. Think of the best technique for you. You could use drawings, short keyword notes, or mind maps, for example. Include full details of the source
3. Critical in-depth reading 💡
This is about developing a full understanding of the text. The question, analyze and evaluate what you are reading. You will need to do this for your assessments.
• Reading strategy: You may start by skimming and previewing the text, but then read carefully and slowly. You may need to read multiple times and raise questions as you read
• Note-taking strategy: Highlight and annotate the text. Make detailed notes but do not copy out all the detail. Your notes should contain your critical comments and questions, and a summary in your own words of what you have understood about the text

So far so good....
Came home today from a 2 day holiday.
Reached around 11. I took rest and watched lectures till around 1.
Planned the week and started with an English assignment.
Copied some notes while catching up with the Gilmores.
Did some French basics.
Then I crammed half a chapter for chemistry .
I'm about to work on my next math chapter after a fifteen minute power nap.
