Bottom ID: A pixelated powerpoint slide titled "The Female Penis: What to call it?" A series of bullet points list: clit, hen, princess wand, shenis, girldick/girlcock, girlpeen, outie vagina, danger noodle, chick stick, strapless, biological strapon, gock, and venis. A note at the bottom indicates that this slide is part of a presentation titled "Trans Girlthings & You". The previous images of the post show the process of making this image. End ID.
I dreamed I had gone on the dark web to find a classified CIA game that they'd made to train agents or something. It'd been in the news because some people had gotten arrested for having a copy of it.
So I finally get it (though my mom was worried I'd get in trouble) and it turns out it's a dating simulator for the DS.

yknow i never noticed the sheer rareness of images having ids or alt text on this website until i started adding alt text to my art (and trying to remember to add it to any images i post in general, especially text screenshots) and that makes me kinda sad

Concept: A gender reveal party but AFTER the kid is born.
Like when the kid is 6 or 12 or 18 or 24. When the kid has decided what their gender is or isn’t.

Prison guards: Iroh? Escape? Ha! That weak, senile old man couldn’t escape if we rolled a red carpet to the door!

I think we need to get more comfortable with the idea that sometimes shitty, racist, homophobic, bigoted people are still incredibly talented.
I feel like every time I see a post addressing someone’s shitty behavior the post also takes the time to mention that they’re not even good at [x] anyway. And that’s just not always true? Equating being good at a skill as being morally good is just not necessary. Someone can be a fantastic writer, can have a beautiful singing voice, can create breathtaking artwork, and still be a horrible person.
I know part of this is probably just the instinct to dislike everything about a person when you dislike them, but I also think this mindset leads to people defending creatives way past where they should, because if bad people create bad art, then if this person creates art that I like and resonates with me, then they can’t be a bad person!
And you know. That’s just not true. Those two things are simply completely unconnected and I think it’d be healthier if we all started disconnecting them in our heads.

i don’t know how to tell people that deriving pleasure - sexual pleasure included! - from art* is good actually, and that creating specific kind of art “just” because you find it hot or whatever is just as good a reason as any, and you don’t actually need some “deep and meaningful” reason to create art about things. pleasure - sexual pleasure included - is not the devil, it is not Bad and shameful, and it’s not any less valid of a reason to create something than because you want to, idk, explore the depths of the human consciousness or something
* art here includes writing

having worked at multiple jobs where I run social media accounts for orgs, the one thing I feel like too many people refuse to understand is that no one will care about an account if you don't have anything to say.
like even beyond organizations, even individuals will sometimes have this idea that they want a big following but also want no one to speak ill of them online. there is no way to have both-- if everything you post is blandly palatable to everyone and expresses nothing new or challenging, why would anyone follow? you're not offering anything interesting. you need to have actual values and positions and say opinions that not everybody agrees with in order to find people who actually care about the things you care about.
I did social media for one nonprofit who did not want me to post anything "controversially political" and wouldn't let me post anti-zionist stuff, anti-imperialist stuff more broadly, etc. and no one followed because we were not saying anything! by the time every instance of my initial messaging was approved by the board it was just bland noise and asking for money, like who the fuck would want to follow that account? it felt humiliating to post. in contrast a different nonprofit let me post some anti-imperialist & anti-zionist stuff & boost activists and you know what? we started building connections with other orgs involved in that work. We also got hatemail and unfollows by some shitty people, cause that's how it goes.
you're never going to find your people if you don't say anything that will offend or anger anyone. you need to have clarity on your values and positions and be willing to hold to them. there's no clever way around this, you have to have something genuine to offer.
