Pinelands sunset. I always end up accidentally slipping into the same color palette for these kinds of pictures lol

You can blame me, but you do it to yourself and you know
When you leave here, will you see where you could go on your own?

I feel like I need a specific art project to make myself pursue art regularly, but at the same time, I devote so much time to pursuing a writing career, I don't know if I have space left to make art into an actual responsibility the way I did when I was doing my webcomic :/

The final stretch of 2023 was outrageously busy for me, like, out of town very nearly every weekend from September through December while working full time in between, so I am not at all surprised that I made zero art in November and December ._.

Not making a formal resolution to devote more time to art in 2024, but I'm definitely hoping it will just sort of happen, lol

Surprise surprise, I started this in October and only just got back to finishing it now in January. Dell active pen on 2-in-1 laptop + Adobe Fresco

Many firsts with this simple piece. I've had a 2-in-1 laptop for a few years now and finally just bought a pen with pressure sensitivity so I can use the laptop as a tablet and make art with it by drawing directly on the screen. When using the pen, I wanted to use a different art program than my usual, something simpler and also just something new, so I could build new habits and not be bogged down by clinging to what I'm used to. Easier to use a new program than find new ways of using a familiar program. I've shopped around and landed on Adobe Fresco. Super intuitive and perfect for what I want to use it for. This setup is no replacement for my usual Wacom + GIMP combo, but it's going to be great for more casual digital art. Yay!
