He has a scar on his forehead from falling down a fucking waterfall

His legal name is Andrew, but he goes by Drew and gets upset if anyone calls him Andrew. He keeps this a secret if possible.

Professional establishments will call him "Mr.Hayden", and he'll tell them "Just call me Drew". He far prefers them defaulting to "Mr.Hayden" than "Andrew Hayden".

They called him Andrew Hayden once when Solidad was around, and that's the only reason she knows his real name. He is rather embarrassed by it.

His parents divorced when he was young. He lived with his rich businessman father (who didn't care for Pokemon).

They had an outdoor garden he spent a lot of time in. This is where he met his Roselia, which at the time was a Budew.

10 year olds are legally allowed to leave the house and go wherever, so the second he got the opportunity he left with Roselia, dyed his hair green, and changed his name to Drew.

If it isn't clear, he doesn't like his father or the lifestyle very much. He hasn't spoken to him since he left to do coordinating.

I mostly like to follow the canon of The Girl With the Red Bandana (with the tweaks I mentioned). Some examples of headcanons inspired by it are

He doesn't care about gender at all. He doesn't mind people seeing him as masculine, but he definitely doesn't connect with it at all.

Goes by they/them with his friends but he doesn't care about the public using he/him so he doesn't correct them. Big fans have their theories though, and word has gotten out a little.

i have read almost every contestshipping fanfiction it’s pretty worrisome. i don’t know how they all ended up with Hayden and Maple as nicknames like did i miss something…

and literally, he called himself drew instead of andrew because he’s obviously afraid to sound like a mf old snoozer lol
