Hey!, I just finished rewatching moon knight and now scrolling through the moon knight tags when I came across a post about how Mr knight is actually Marc Spector and Steven Grant is a playboy billionaire in the comics and I was shook. Then I came across your post of you ranting about the differences from the show to the comics, which blew my mind!, and now I’m so intrigued and curious about the true lore of moon knight, every time I try to search about it on google I just get references from the shows (so frustrating) I can’t afford to buy the comics, so if you can/want could you please tell me all the important and interesting facts/lore that’s in the moon knight comics?

in all seriousness, this made my day. I'm so glad you enjoy my content, and I will happily explain to you the MK lore!

I completely get you on the not wanting to but the comics thing. Comics are expensive. Honey, imma be real with you, readcomiconline.li is where it's at. It's where I read all of the comics I didn't have.

So before I go on a tangent and explain things, and this goes for anyone wanting to start reading the comics, heres a little list of all the comics I've read so far in what I understand to be chronological order.

It's a little bit cheesy and a VERY long run, but Marc Spector: Moon Knight from 1989-94 is maaayybbeee where you want to start off, but maybe not. I didn't start off with this run, but even as bad as the old comics are, they're a bit important.

But, I HIGHLY suggest you start out with the Lemire and Smallwood run from 2016. It was the first run I completed, and it's an amazing run and VERY important to read. Many people say it's the best run. It's certainly a run, I'll tell you that. ( Also I didn't read that one online, I received it last year as a Christmas gift. Also readcomic doesn't have all of the issues, so be warned on that. )

Next I read From The Dead. And I moved on to Vengeance of The Moon Knight from 2009. And after I'd suggest reading Age of Khonshu, Devils Reign and then The Midnight Mission. You can read all of these for free on readcomiconline.li ( don't type in comics plural because it will direct you to the wrong site ) be warned though because there are a lot of ads and you will get jumpscared by anime boobies.

Now moving onto what you asked me for. The important stuff, right.

I'm new to this whole comic reading stuff as well, and for anyone else reading this who knows more than I do, please add additional information I missed down in the reply section. It would mean a lot. So now I'm going to give a you a quick run down on Marc's origin story. ( And for a quick disclaimer, I will come off as not taking myself seriously in some parts of this post because I don't take myself seriously lol. )

Marc Spector was born on March 9th, 1987 in Chicago Illinois into a Jewish family. His father was Elias Spector and his mother was Wendy Spector ( his younger brother being Randall Spector )Elias was a rabbi who manged to escape Nazi prosecution during the days of Hitler and all that jazz. Because Elias was a rabbi, Randall would get picked on at school a lot, and Marc would be there to stand up for him. Even at a young age Marc was exposed to a lot of violence. That could come from growing up yk... Kinda poor and having to stand up for your lil bro.

Marc's violent nature was really born when a close family friend of his, Yitz Perlmen was discovered to be a secret serial killer who targeted Jews. From what I understand, Perlmen tried to Kill Marc ( mind you Marc was like 11 or 12 ) but Marc had escaped but his traumatic experiences led him to form D.I.D

As seen in the Lemire run, the first time Marc had encountered Khonshu was when he was 12 and was getting diagnosed for his D.I.D Marc wasn't told to his face from the doctor about his disorder and was told to step outside the office. Marc tried to evesdrop on the conversation, and from outside of the doctor's office, he meets Khonshu. Khonshu tells him, " That man in there is not your true father. I am. " Mind you, Marc is 12!!! 12!!!! Khonshu began manipulating Marc since he was twelve because he was, obviously really fucking young, and traumatized. Khonshus tactics were to strip Marc away from his religion and culture and make him submit to him.

So anyways, Marc was sent to Putnam Psychiatric Hospital and would stay there until he was 18 when his father funeral came along and he was let go for a week to go visit his family. This is where we learn Marc's relationship with his father was complex. Marc tells his mother, Wendy, that his father must have been happy to send him away because he was embarrassed by him. Wendy and Marc have an argument, which ends in Marc saying he's going to the bathroom, when he actually leaves to his childhood bedroom and escapes out the window when he hears Khonshus voice.

Marc later enlisted into the U.S marines Corps and served as a private for a couple years. But on Marc's second tour to Iraq, superiors started to report his odd behavior and they found out that Marc had lied about his disorder, leaving him to be discharged. Marc joined the CIA and served with his brother Randall. Randall was jealous of Marcs talents and killed Marc's girlfriend, Lisa, because she was going to expose a gun scheme. Marc then like... Threw bombs at Randall and shit and then assumed he was dead...but he wasn't.

Marc left the CIA after that and started doing illegal boxing, where he met his soon to be best friend, Jean-Paul Duchamp ( usually refered to as Frenchie ) and they became mercenaries together and started killing a bunch of people, in Marc's case, for mooonnneeyyy!!! Get that bag, girlie. And then Marc got put on trial for war crimes!! His crime being yk...assistanting the president of this south African country called Bosqueverde as one does.

And then he started to do missions under this group call the Karnak Cowboys and fell in love with one of his groupmates, Layla El-faouly, as seen in later issues of The Midnight Mission. Then she fucking died when an escape went wrong.

So anyways Marc meets this funny lil guy named Raoul Bushman ( he is not funny lil guy, he's killed hundred of people, probably) So Marc works for him with Frenchie and they, together, set to north Sudan to raid a dig site. ( This should start to sound familiar, as it was briefly touched on in the show when Arthur's guys captured Steven and put cuffs on him and slammed him in the back of their car ) Looks like raid shadow legends went down again, and things started to get not so epic when Raoul killed the lead Archeologist of the dig site, Peter Alraune in front of his daughter Marlene. This pissed the ever loving shit out of Marc because even though Marc likes violence, he doesn't enjoy violence against innocent people, and so he punches the fucker but uh oh! The Raoul Bushman Strikes Back, and he fucking KILLS MARC IN RETURN AND EVERYONE ELSE EXPECT FOR FRENCHIE AND MARLENE AND THIS ONE MF WHO TOLD HIM HE WOULD TELL HIM WHERE THE DIG SITE WAS. ( really Raoul left Marc mortally wounded, but he was on the brick of death, basically)

Marc was able to regain conscious and drag himself halfway to Khonshus tomb ( which is what Raoul was looking for ) Marlene and a bunch of other citizens find Marc and they carry him to Khonshus tomb. Marc hears Khonshus voice for yet another time, and Marc is revived and becomes the Moon Knight we all know and love. Then he basically killed Raoul's guys and then fell in love with Marlene.

So that's his origin story. Now onto the stuff I know as fact but it won't be explained in chronological order because I haven't read a ton of comics to explain it in chronological order.

He used Steven as a a way to handle money and build wealth so they could have recourses like vehicles, weapons and a ton of other random bullshit ( go!! ) that they don't need. Jake was used as a new York taxi driver so that he had his eye in the streets and knew when shit was goin down. They're both kind of horny. Jake literally spends some of his free time in a strip clubs drinking rum. ( As seen in the midnight mission and implied on in the Lemire run. )

His relationship with Marlene was long, but didn't last because, if I'm recalling correctly, Marc had a mental breakdown and decided to basically stop working for Khonshu so he could be with Marlene. But soon after he started hearing Khonshus voice again and Marlene couldn't take anymore of it, so she left him.

And then there's that bullshit with The Midnight Man. All I know is that he passed away from cancer and had a son named Jeff Wilde. Jeff aspired to Marc and wanted to be his sidekick, kind of like Robin and Batman in the Lego Batman movie with a little less adoption, but Marc kept on refusing as a way to protect Jeff. The Jeff had this whole thing where he turned evil or some shit idk and I guess Marc killed him? I'm not sure. Please, moon knight gang, let me know what happened in the reply section because I'm ignorant.

Marc had his independence from Khonshu after banishing Khonshu to Asgardian Prison ( seen in Age of Khonshu and discussed in The Midnight Mission) and decided " fuck you, I don't need need you anymore. Imma do my own thing and you can't do nothing about it " and then he became Mr. Knight. Mr. Knight is kind of a detective and he consults with policemen ( as seen in From The Dead ) Moon Knight is the one who does all the fighting.

From where Marc's development is at right now, Marc was running a thing called the Midnight Mission, which was a place where citizens would go to to report strange things happening in the city.

Additional, fun information:

Marc has a daughter named Diatrice. He only knows about it because Jake had a secret relationship with Marlene on the side after Marc and Marlene broke up.

He sleeps all day in the tomb of Khonshu and fights crime at night. He's like a bat!!

His ringtone ( as seen in the midnight mission) is The Killing Moon by Echo and The Bunnymen. ( Y'all should listen to it, if you haven't. it's really good. ).

He drives a red convertible car ( as seen in the Brain Micheal Bendis run, don't read it it's REALLY bad and insufficient. ) and also a motorcycle ( as see in Vengeance of The Moon Knight)

He was originally supposed to fight mainly just werewolf's and um... Writers at Marvel had different ideas.

His favorite drink is an ice cold vodka ( as seen in the Midnight Mission)

He had a mansion and then his money went bye bye and now he lives in a haunted house ( as seen, once again, in the Midnight Mission)

Frenchie is also gay! Hes married to a man named Rob! ( And this is only from what I've heard, by he apparently had a secret crush on Marc at some point.)

Kalim and Jamil are kinda like Aladdin and Jasmine...

So. Did you know. That the og Aladdin from 1992, has 2 sequels? I didn't know either until resently. So I had the BRIGHT IDEA to watch them all. SO. I rewatched Aladdin 1992, then it's sequels, Return of Jafar, and King of Thieves. While in this ''marathon'' I noticed something, that our favorite Scarabia duo resemble some of the characters and no I'm not talking about Jafar and the Sultan. I'll admit they're some resemblences obvi but I'll get into later. So here I am talking about how Jamil and Kalim remind me of Jasmine and Aladdin because I'm having a JamiKali brainrot and this is how I'm getting over it.

Also Spoiler Warning for all 3 movies (Plus book 4)! Go watch them if you want but spoiler alert Return of Jafar and King of Thieves both look AWFUL compared to the original I'm not kidding the budget went down SUFFIENTLY. Quick google search told me this:

Aladdin: 28 million USD

Return of Jafar: 5 million USD

King of Thieves: 3.5 million USD

Anyways with that small vent outta the way let's get into it.

-Jamil and Jasmine:

Look at me comparing the servent with the princess, the irony imma right? Anyway. So it is true that Jamil and Jafar have more similarities then Jamil and Jasmine but I don't really like resonating Jamil with Jafar cause Jafar (warning mention of gross shit) KISSED AND SEXUALISED A MINOR BY MAKING HER WEAR THIS?!?!

SHES 15 IN THIS MOVIE BTW WTF JAFAR

And now whenver I think of Jafar I think of this. Disgusting. I'm not putting Jamil at his level NOPE. Moving on from that shit.

So back to Jasmine and Jamil the main similarity inbetween the 2 I see is they both have a similar goal.

They both wish to be free.

Jasmine's main conflict in this movie is her not wanting to be a part of the steriotypical princess life. Her father wants her to marry a prince and sends suitors her way all the time, despite her rejecting all of them. She says herself that she doesn't want to marry some self-absorbed prince who only cares about money and sees her as an object of marriage. She wants to marry for love. Not only that she also just wants to be able to leave the palace for once as she never has, she wants to make real friends, as she never had one. This is what leads up to the desicion of running away. She escaped the palace and was planning on not returning, but then, she meets Aladdin who is captured by some guards because of Jafar's orders and to save him, reveals herself as the princess, forcing her to go back to the palace.

Jamil is in a similar boat. The main reason for his overblot in Book 4 is that he is fed up with having to dim himself down just for Kalim's sake. Always being second best cause he needs to let Kalim shine. He also wants to be able to make his own desicions. He wants to not have to listen to his parents who presured him into this in the first place. He doesn't want to have to do everything Kalim wants/says. He wants to travel around and see a Whole New World (hehehhehehehe). While their goals are somewhat different, they both collided into the same general concept. Wanting to be free.

And then there's a ''A Whole New World''. A song about basically just following your heart, leaving your confinments, and experiencing a ''whole new world'', aka a life of freedom and being able to decide/make choices for yourself. For Jamil, leaving his status as servant and traveling all over the world, and for Jasmine, marrying someone for love and not being seen as an object. (There is also ''Speechless'' from the live action but we aren't talking about that one so-)

-Kalim and Aladdin:

So for these's two there is less but something none the less. For Kalim and the Sultan, the main similarities I see are them both being oblivious go happy people and terrible judges of character despite saying otherwise!/hj (But fr they both share the same line of ,''I'm an incredible judge of character!'', at some point in their stories)

Now moving on to Aladdin the man himself. The main thing I could find in relation with these 2 were their generally kind hearts.

In the end of Aladdin (1992), Aladdin has the right for one final wish and Genie encouranges him to use it on making him a prince again so he can marry Jasmine. Stating that he will ''Never find another girl like her'', and Genie is ready to be sealed away again back in lamp. But Aladdin decides to wish for Genie's freedom instead (also since he promised him at the beginning of the movie when he first found him). Genie is overjoyed and hugs all of them. This also makes the Sultan reliese how good of a person Aladdin is despite lying for half this movie and gets rid of the rule that a princess must marry a prince (And makes me wonder why he didn't do this before but whatever).

There is also the beginning of Return of Jafar where Aladdin finds some thieves trying to steal some treasure from a temple. Aladdin defeats them and takes the gold himself. But instead of keeping it he gives it to all the poor people in Agrabah who need it more then him.

Now go ahead and tell me Kalim isn't as kindhearted as Aladdin if not MORE. Go ahead I'll wait.

Kalim helps everyone around him. No matter who they may be or their status. A good example of this is in his sport vignette.

Kalim sees Ortho all by himself. When he asks what's wrong, Ortho says Idia promised to play with him but got busy cause his game got an event update and he is in hardcore gamer mode. Kalim agrees to play with Ortho instead despite starving from coming out of PE.

And that made me smile like an idiot so here :)

oh cod i have so many thoughts.... like so many thoughts oh my goodness my brain is overflowing with thoughts. So uh this will be under the cut so i can ramble as much as i like.

Like yeah Marina was a well known octarian soldier like i think even 8 knew of her but she didn't know of 8. So like it makes sense that Dedf!sh would know Marina, but why does Marina know Dedf1sh?? Like yeah music is an important part of both inkling and octoling society so like maybe she was also important? Or do they just know each other as friends???

ALSO INFINITE REPLAYABILITY AND THE PALETTE THING HAVING AN INFINITY LOGO ON IT PLUS IF YOU TURN THE NUMBER 8 SIDEWAYS YOU GET INFINITY AND THE NUMBER 8 WAS THE THEME OF OCTO EXPANSION AND NOW INFINITY MIGHT BE THE THEME OF SIDE ORDEr

i'm pretty sure it had already been confirmed in a dev interview or smth but this is 100% a alternate reality for if chaos had lost and order had won. i'm not sure how i feel about that??? but y'know what its happening so i can't do much about it. plus it does mean they can kinda do whatever they what without affecting canon too much which should lead to something interesting

ok wait back to the pearl bot real quick. the japanese website for side order (after google translated so take this w a grain of salt) says that "it appears to be Hime(pearls jp name) herself inside, but for some reason she appears to be in the form of a drone" SO LIKE??? WHAT???? WHY IS SHE IN THERE. I ASSUMED SHE WAS JUST TRANSMITTING THRU IT WHILE SHE WAS SOMEWHERE ELSE. which like to be fair i was wondering why she was not there in person. but its not like she was there in person for most of octo expansion either so like????

Also if this is taking place in 8s mind (seems unliekly after this) then maybe the drone is her way of communicating to 8 thru all this??? like maybe its smth marina made???

Speaking of Marina. It seems like these two are looking for her. Which would explain the glitched out art of her in the first trailer

ALSO SPEAKING OF THE FIRST TRAILER. 8s hair was brown there but now its seems like its a washed out color. Like it can still change colors(especially near the tip) but its a rlly pale/pastel ink color usually.

OK RANDOM IDEA TIME. a lot of stuff looks digital. (the drone, the animation of 8 spawning into a level, the matrix code looking stuff etc) so like maybe this is a simulation of some kind that marina made to view into an alternate reality? like in that one interview:

She talks about finding a world of order at the end of the world. So maybe she made a device to peer into that world of order? And then her, pearl, and 8 made their way into it.

That might also explain dedfishs use of the phrase "innocent bystander who got SUCKED INTO all of this" so maybe she was nearby at the time of the device activating. But why would she have been there? and if she was there why would marina not have introduced her to pearl and 8??? maybe the device wasnt meant to be activated at that point yet. maybe it wasnt ready

so wheres marina??? she may have gotten separated from the other 2 and so now they are looking for her??? idk i am literally just rambling here. i have no clue whats going on and so many ideas.

but anyway, this all started because i was wondering how you would get to the dlc area. cuz its not like this is happening somewhere else in the world like in octo expansion. THIS IS AN ALTERNATE REALITY.

ALSO OFF TOPIC(do i even have a topic) BUT 8S TIPS OF FINGERS AND HAIR SEEM TO BE AFFECTED BY THE PAINT CHIP THINGS AND LIKE WILL WE GET THAT AS CUSTOMIZATION OPTIONS AFTER

ALSO THE WHOLE IN "INKLING OR OCTOLING FORM THING??" CAN YOU ACTUALLY PLAY AS AN INKLING??? THAT WOULD BE WEIRD. 8 IS A OCTOLING. THIS IS CANON. WHY COULD U BE AN INKLING. IS THIS JUST WEIRD WORDING???? OR CAN YOU PLAY AS ANOTHER AGENT/CHARACTER AS WELL????

don't mind the title, this is most definitely not yaoi and just a silly title

however, imma talk about past lives here so if you lost an oshi recently and is not ready, or is not comfortable with this topic, or is not interested, you definitely shouldn't read this!

this is my blog, imma do what i want to do in this space.

Early 2021 is when i started to kind of explore vtubers mainly because of a certain shrine maiden of a certain vtuber company shooting digital pedestrians telling them to go home (it was the pandemic) in the crime-ridden streets of Los Santos.

Curiousity lead me to discover many great, talented, funny and creative Stars and have stuck around since then. But not gonna lie, I lurked around and found more male vtubers.

One of which is Takahata, an indie vtuber who invites other vtubers to be interviewed or to make skits with. I follow Takahata on Twitter and on YouTube. I don't interact, I mainly lurk.

One of those vtubers I discovered through Takahata's channel is Randon. In a world where people are superficial, here we have an orc. I mean, most of the vtuber models are humans with animal features or with well endowed bodies or, let's just say it, loli and shota physique; so an orc is an interesting choice.

So I checked him out, and his content is also very interesting. He tell funny stories, make skits and talk about variety topics. The only thing is, I don't have Twitch so I never watched any of their streams. But yea, I follow him on Twitter and on Youtube. And then he left.

When the new Stars appeared, one account that kept popping up is from a human content creator who teaches at Ligma University.

Professor Lando's acedemic expertise are weeb history and furry culture.

Honestly, his content is very entertaining. He got me to subscribe real quick lol

Professor did make a brief break to work at a cafeteria, then continued to teach about 6 months later (if my memory serves me right)

A few days ago, there were a couple shooting Stars and though it was sad, I wasn't worried as much since I knew where one would land. But the other, not so much. And then...

The other Star landed and became... a spear?

Honestly, I'm excited to see the orc back. Though his first stream is gonna be on Twitch and I'm contemplating if I should make an account. I don't like making numerous account that I won't use as much.

Before I go, I wanna put the definition of Doxxing.

Im bord and listening too fearless (tv) for the first time! Let's go!

Also before we start I'd like to stay that ik like 5 songs from (or less) and technically I grew up to fearless cuz I'd rewatch the music video for you belong with me over & over again lol.

Fearless: I think I've listened to some of this song before from tiktok, and that's about it. Nice guitar! I'm bopping. OH FEARLESS! ok this is a great song. Drive Slow? *atw flashbacks*. 8/10 good. Awww first kiss, ITS THE TIKTOK SOUND BITE!!!!!

15: I'm Turning 15 this year so let's see how much I relate. Tf is freshmen year? 9th grade? Ik the chorus from tiktok. Good tho. So far relate at 10. Or more 💅🏳️‍🌈 lol. No he isn't Taylor you have to wait....until your 30 to meet the one. :D. I don't get people who play or like sports. Exsptionaly ppl who date ppl who play sports, all the sporty ppl ik are dickheads and bigots! I like this song. I'm playing this all the time on my birthday. 8/10. Relaterbility 3/10. Love story: AHHHHHH I LOVE THIS SONG! now imma confess a sin......I only learnt this song exsited cuz of gacha and listening to it on a cd all the time at school. Also I didn't know it was a Taylor song. I thought it was random song from a gacha life video! Anyways 10/10 love it!!!

Hey Stephen: who's Stephen? What's this song about? Imma google real quick. Ah OK. It's abt her having a Crush on a guy and never admitting it. Maybe I just can't relate (cuz aro and I got the rizz) but I don't like it. Maybe I just like love songs like love story ect, but,.....nahhh Maybe if I listen to it more I'll like it (like folklore & evermore) but for now it's a 3-5/10. Not for me.

White hourse: she preformed this at the eras tour and somehow I was able to skip a bunch of videos abt it so I have 0 clue what this is abt. Why is the guitar so sad. Oh is this a squal to Hey stephen. Why am I laughing. Ik it's supposed to be sad but to go from pinning to heartbreak with no fucking in between and just innit, it's funny! I can't take it srsly. I like the chorus but still funny. 10/10 funnies love it.

You belong with me: this was the first ever Taylor swift song I listened too. As a kid I would just watch music videos on my ipad (yes im an ipad kid) that was downloaded and I would rewatch this one the most and I love it. Just for nostalgia and that it holds up now a days it gets a 10/10. Imma jam to this now.

The best day: so far I love this album. It's so good!!! Also as soon as I finish this I have 2 albums left, debut & red. Awwww. Idk what to talk about it's a good song tho. This album & all her contry songs are just fairy tales but taylors version. Just saying it is. Idk what that implies or means but that's my observations. 7.5/10 good! Just looked at the spotify banner in the background for the song. Why is it small Taylor? What is this song abt? I feel bad.

Untouchable: guitar.... nice. What's this song about? This is sad, I love it :( :). It's giving Taylor talking abt her sad things. Awwww it's abt the human experience abt wanting things that's out of our league. 8/10.

Come in with the rain: Taylor is a hopeless romantic & so am I!!!! I love, love...but I also don't get it sometimes. This album is hopeless romantic for teens! 8/10.

Superstar: so her? Lol. I wonder how her relationships with fellow like classmates where when she started getting big? Probably awkward and bad. 6/10 I've heard this same type of song like 10 times now. It gets boring quickly.

The otherside of the door: I've honestly got nothing the rest is just ratings unless I achally have something to say. 6/10.

Today was a fairytale: ik this song, again from tiktok. Very good song. 9/10. Nice lyrics.

I like how she structures her newer music and this just being long af & have 50 love songs & the rest abt break up songs just....I hate it! I wanna song that let's me see who Taylor is! Not who she dated & broke up with! Plus I got tired of the same fucking songs over & over again! If I listened to them by themselves with like a song like yoyok then maybe I'd like it more.
