a tuppence for your bi4bi Clois thoughts 🪙... I'm luv them so much and I'd love to hear if you have any specific headcanons about them 🥺
YESSSS!!! i DO have some thoughts. i love them,
generally i think lois has her bisexuality figured out by the time she's in her mid-20s. she and cat grant have had some rage-filled makeouts on at least one occasion, but an actual relationship would never in a million years work out between them. they respect each other but do not see eye to eye nearly enough. she never bothered to come out to her father, but just knows it's one more thing about her that he'd hate.
clark, by contrast, does Not have it figured out. he has spent his entire life repressing every single thought, feeling, and ability that set him apart from the classic good all-american boy because he had to fit in. and being superman, exploring his kryptonian heritage, etc., has helped, of course, but he is still. so repressed. he has no idea that he's ever experienced attraction to guys before. he's got some internalized homophobia to work through, about himself. He Has To Be Normal. so as far as he's concerned, there was lana, and then there was lois.
to me, clark's journey toward self-acceptance is very intrinsically tied to his family. there's kara, talking about how sexuality and gender stuff on krypton wasn't like it is on earth, especially in western culture. there's kon, suffering through his own repression and depression and trying to pretend he's fine. there's chris and jon, both too young to fully grasp it all (probably), who make clark incredibly aware of every step he makes in terms of parenting them.
so one day, after kon's finally come out to the family, and kara's muddled through trying to figure out earth labels that she's comfortable with, the two of them decide they wanna go to pride, and ask lois and clark if they want to make it a family affair. lois says hell yeah, and clark says yes of course he's happy to support them! and jon says YAY, GLITTER!! CAN I GET STICKERS? and chris says if you get glitter all over my nintendo ds again i will punt you into the ocean, baby brother or not.
and there's just this innocuous moment while they're out when kon goes "here i got you these!" and hands lois and clark two simple lil heart-shaped bi flag buttons. and lois is like aw thanks squirt! and ruffles kon's hair. clark meanwhile goes oh i think there's been a misunderstanding... ... . . . .. . .. .. . or. has there?
and that night he's just sitting on the edge of the bed holding this tiny like $3 button in his hands having a whole crisis. lois hooks her chin over his shoulder and asks what's wrong? and he's like. lois i'm not. i'm. except maybe i'm not not. but i don't know, i thought i... i never thought i could think about it. clark kent is supposed to be normal. i... i'm already an alien, lois, i thought i was already set apart enough, and if i'm... if i'm this, even when i'm clark, not superman, then... then...
and lois digs her matching little $3 bi flag heart button out of her purse and bumps it against his and says, even if you are queer, you're still not alone. and then clark gives her the patented kent family big soft puppy-dog eyes. that night, he falls asleep in her arms with his head tucked snugly under her chin. it's where he feels safest.
but the next year, he lets kara get him a flag, and lets kon tie it around his shoulders like a cape. and he's here as clark kent, but it's kind of funny when he looks at his shadow. because he might not be superman right now, but the silhouette still looks the same.

FOR THE BETTER pt II
Hey curvies, glad you liked the first part of my story yay. I now bestow upon you part 2. I went a bit out of the way with this chapter, but I hope you like it. The singing part is something I did in class once on a whim, it didn't work as good as I described in the story, I still had to submit my work LOL. Enjoy my little curvies MMMMWWWahHHH!
Dark Clark Kent x (Black)!Plus Size Reader SUMMARY: Mr. Kent said friends til the end of the week right? Think again. Y/n, still getting used to having Mr. Kent as a friend, is trying to be a bit more bold. She's trying to adjust to change and even though sometimes he may seem a bit pushy, she doesn't mind, its all friendship right? He'll back off after awhile right?
You walked in class, no paper in hand and you refused to meet Clarks disappointed gaze. You weren't the only one without a paper but you were really nervous about the presentation you had up your sleeve. You just hoped it made sense. "Alright, looks like we're getting speeches today. Who wants to go first? Hmm?" He said with his hands on his hips. No one volunteered. "Am I going to have to voluntell somebody?" he gave you "the look" over his glasses. Your heart pounded in your chest, but you shakily stood as first volunteer. "Alright Miss Y/l/n, lets hear it." You could hear disappointment dripping in his voice, but you wanted to do this. You took a deep breath, and started to sing. 'Hello darkness my old friend, I've come to talk with you again, because a vision softly creeping left its seed while I was sleeping, and the vision that was planted in my brain, still remains. Within the sound!!!!!!!!! Of silence.' you ended making everyone freeze and stare. "My voice is pretty much the best thing I like about me. I-I didn't think a paper could put in words what my voice could. Th-that's my speech." You said awkwardly sitting down. You'd never sang in front of anyone like that before, you hadn't even joined the choir, so singing in front of everyone was a huge step for you. Just as you'd finished processing what you'd done, the classroom erupted in cheers and applause. You were shaking at how many people liked what you'd done. You really began to shake when you saw Clark clapping for you too. "That's my wife!" One of your classmates yelled across the room smiling at you. "Alright, alright. Miss Y/l/n," Clark started. "That's Mrs. Bankston to you." the same classmate yelled out making everyone laugh. Your face heated up a bit. "Miss Y/l/n thank you for the speech. It'll suffice this time, next time I want a paper. Okay, Bankston, you're up next." "Aw Mr. Kent for reals? Like how am I supposed to follow up an act like that? Besides we're duo. Like ebony and ivory..." He serenaded holding his hand out toward you, making you giggle. "Mr. Bankston Miss Y/l/n has fantastic gpa in comparison, so seeing as your such a duo I would've expected a lot better." Clark shaded calmly, "So unless you want it to suffer any further, I suggest you cut the crap and give your speech." Clark said a bit irritated. The rest of class was filled with boring speeches from classmates who weren't even prepared to do their work. When class was dismissed, you tried easing out of the room without being noticed. "Uh, Miss Y/l/n, my office please?" He said looking over his glasses at you. You inwardly groaned and went back to his office. "So, what excuse do you have for not doing your paper?" "I honestly couldn't come up with the words to describe how it felt to use my voice. I tried I really did, but honestly, I really just couldn't find the words to describe what I like about me when-I just couldn't find the words." "Y/n, you do not give yourself enough credit. You're a very good writer and obviously an incredible singer. You can be whatever-" "Clark, do I look like a singer to you? No I don't, that's why I write, I know my words have more impact behind the scenes." You said with strength. You didn't have to be seen to be heard. "You can be whatever you want to be and you'll have my support every step of the way. That's what friends, real friends do." "Clark we are not still friends, we said til the end of the week." you shook your head at him with a smile. He smiled and stuffed his hands in his pocket. "Sorry, I'm not going away." "Figures." You laughed a bit. "What are you doing tonight? We could have a movie night." "Will Lois be there?" You asked excited. "I can ask her if you want me to." "I guess it'd be cool, but for like 30 minutes though." "Y/n no movie lasts 30 minutes. Nice try though." he laughed. "We'll be over at 8." "'Kay bye!" You said rushing out of his office off to your next class. That night at 8 on dot a knock came to your door, you answered expecting to see the couple standing there but was a bit shocked to
just see Clark. "Hey, Lois coming by later?" You asked, the last you wanted was to cause drama. "No she's following a lead on a story for the front page. She says she's sorry and she'll catch up next time." He said walking past with bags of groceries. "Oh, well let me help you." You said motioning at the bags in his hands. "I've got it, its pretty heavy." "I swear I honestly thought you'd be bringing a pizza." you chuckled. "Where's your table?" "Table?" You asked head tilted to the side. "Where you eat, the dining table?" he asked sitting the groceries on your counter. "Haha, you have a table for guests. I never have anyone over, so I just sit in front of the tv." you said pointing at your couch. He rolled his eyes at you and huffed. "Oh come on don't look at me crazy, I warned you that I was anti." "That's no excuse." he mumbled as he opened your refrigerator. "Y/n, you don't have any food in here." He fussed. "I do, its in the freezer and the pantry." you defended. "Two chimichangas, a pint of ice cream, Nutella, animal crackers, soda, and ramen. That's not food." He fussed even harder. "Okay dude chill, I'm a working grown college student. I don't eat here much anyway I eat at work, and Nutella is sustainable to my everyday existence." You said yanking the hazelnut spread away before he threw it away. He shook his head as he put the food away. "How long has it been since you've had a hot home cooked meal?" "Last week at your mom's." you shrugged. "I'm glad I brought real food to cook." he fussed on. "Clark, we could've just ordered pizza." you said starting to feel a bit bad for not adulting enough. "We could've, but I wanted to cook for you." He turned and looked at you pleading. "Please tell me you have pots and pans." "God Clark I'm hopeless not an idiot." You joked laughing obnoxiously making him roll his eyes at you. You showed him where everything was and he started cooking. You offered to help, be wanted to cook for you. You sat up the snacks an pulled up Netflix so you could choose a movie. He made his way over to you with a glass of wine. You took a sip and dramatically fell to the ground, pretending to die by poisoned wine. He got down on the floor with you and you looked at the height difference of his head by your feet and your head at the middle of his thighs and started laughing making him laugh like you'd never heard. After you both calmed down you laid there staring at the ceiling like there were stars hovering. "You really do have an amazing voice." Clark said cutting the peaceful silence. You couldn't help but smile. "Thanks....friend." You said nudging him in his thigh with your elbow. You both stayed silent until you gasped making him almost jump out of his skin. "What?" he said worried. "Can I sing at you and Lois' wedding?" You asked catching him off guard. "Oh come on, you love her, I can see it, " You said sitting up and smiling down at him. "and you both look so beautiful together." You stood tall and put your hands on your hips in "Superman" fashion. "Since I'm your friend I give her the golden stamp of, put a ring on it!" You said holding out your thumb. "Okay, I'm picking gonna pick the movie." You said marching to the couch. "That's not fair, I'm cooking I should get to pick the movie." He standing to check on his food. "We could've ordered pizza." You rebutted. "I'm your guest." he shot back with a shit eating grin. "Shit! Fine, you get to pick the movie." "Well I'll pick it after we eat." "Aww what? The tv's right there." You pointed. He looked over his glasses at you. "I don't even have a table." you argued. "You've got an argument for everything don't you?" He said chuckling. "You've got a coffee table, we'll make it work. Do you have a candle?" He said looking around before looking at you. You were there with your hands on your hips, looking at him like-'you know damn well.' He shook his head at your for the millionth time making you giggle a bit. He set the table and poured you another glass of wine. "You know this stuff gets better the more you
drink it." You said gulping the glass down and holding it out for more. "Mm-hmm." He agreed taking a sip of his own while pouring you more. You took a bite of you food, you immediately stood and clapped. "You were right, this is way better than pizza, although pizza is still good, this is amazing. "So what genre do you like most?" He asked. "Horror, I don't know why I watch it though, I always spook myself afterwards." "Okay so no horror." "No, wait please? I won't get scared tonight I promise. I mean unless you want to watch cartoons?" "We'll watch something scary." "Yaaaaay!!!!" you cheered and went to reach for the remote to your tv. "Ah, after we finish dinner and clean up." "Deal!" You said a bit excited. Once dinner was done and you'd both cleaned, even though you told him you'd do all the cleaning, he still helped. Afterwards you both sat and watched a scary movie that had you stress eating and jumping every two seconds. After that movie ended, Clark suggested another movie to help you not feel so spooked. You'd lost count of how many glasses of wine you'd had and you were feeling tipsy and tired. "Hey friend?" You hummed. "Hm?" "I fuckin hate to admit this, but I'm drunk. I'm glad we're friends. You better be glad too." you fussed at him. "I am glad," he laughed, "I really am." He said staring at you. "Good, cause you're the only person I can tolerate. Oh, and Lois....oh and that your mom, I really like your mom....oh and that cute guy from class." you giggled making Clark roll his eyes in disgust. "Y/n please." "What? He's cute, he's an idiot, that doesn't change that he's cute." You said looking at your phone. Your eyes grew big as you saw the time. "Dude its past midnight. Don't you need get home and rest for lecture?" He stared at you for a moment and you could tell he didn't want to go home, but you both knew he had to. "Yeah I'm sure I could use some rest." He said getting up to leave. You tried to get him to take the rest of the food he'd bought with him, but he refused. "Well thanks for dinner's meals and be safe. Do you need me to walk you out?" "Absolutely not, how about I see you off to bed?" "I look five to you? Don't even answer that." You sassed. He laughed and gave you a long hug, telling you how proud of you he was for using your voice and for letting him be your friend. You squirmed out of his arms pretending it was burning you. He ruffled your fro' and you gave him a playful nudge out the door. That night as you laid in bed trying to fall asleep, you kept thinking about Clark and no matter how hard you tried to shake it you couldn't help but fawn over him and how close you both had gotten so fast. 'Girl puh-lease, he's got Lois, she's beautiful and thin. He's happy with her and there's no way he'd even bat an eye at you like that. Don't even get it twisted.' you scolded yourself internally. You couldn't allow yourself to catch feelings for him that way because you knew you'd only end up with hurt feelings. You also didn't want to break up a happy relationship. 'How'd he know I needed groceries though?' you thought to yourself, 'Maybe just a hunch.' you dismissed. Soon with your mind going in 50 different directions, you were tired enough to fall asleep. "Goodnight little bird." Clark said as he watched you finally drift off to sleep. He wondered what thoughts plagued your brain that kept you awake. He hoped you'd thought of him. After making sure every inch of you apartment was safe inside and out he felt satisfied enough to go home and get a bit of rest. 'No harm in making sure she's safe' he thought as he finally took off. 'I'll always make sure she's safe.'

Tumblr media
Love. What a load of bullshit, you hated the idea of love. The idea that people could love someone despite how shitty they were pissed you off. Sure you knew people weren't perfect but come on, some people could just do better, be better. You felt genuinely awful when you found yourself thinking certain people didn't deserve to be loved. And you had begun to think that the thought in your mind meant you too didn’t deserve to be loved.
People often told you, "Y/n, you're too kind", "Y/N you're too good for him" and that too pissed you off. How could you be too good for one person and not good enough for someone else? That was the story of your life, the people you loved, didn't love you back, and the people that loved you, well... They fell under the formerly mentioned category of "not deserving love" and you suppose that fact was the reason you were yet to find someone. You were stuck up, only you thought it but it was still true. Someone who thinks there are people who don't deserve love, is stuck up, surely? Your friends and family would tell you that they agreed that some people don’t deserve love but it didn’t make you feel better, it made you hate the human race just a little more than you already did. You were kind, you knew that, only the people closest to you knew of these thoughts that you hated to have and the rest… they knew you as a lovely girl, a positive woman who worked hard and was strong. But that was the facade you presented.
You wish you were the type of person that believed everyone deserves love, but you weren't.
So here you were, sitting in your apartment drinking a beer all by yourself, waiting until your only true friend finished filming and came and listened to your moaning. Who is that friend you ask? The one, the only; Henry Cavill. How the fuck he was your friend you'll never know. He was about 7 years older than you but that didn't stop you from being best friends with him. He was a genuinely nice guy, the most humble person you knew (even in his position), he was kind and loving and you always told everyone he was the best thing that ever came into your life. He may be a recurring guest star in the filthiest of your dreams and fantasies but you'd never let him know that. You had the biggest crush on him but covered it up with witty and sarcastic humour, sure the two of you flirted but neither of you had the guts to progress your friendship, his fans knew you as his best friend and you thought it would stay that way until he inevitably found a girlfriend.  Little did you know that Henry felt the same way about you, in fact he was very much in love with his best friend, people said that you were too young but when you were together age was never an issue, in fact it was something Henry forgot about most days, only really thinking about it when someone had to comment on it (usually an ignorant reporter or pap)
You heard your door open, the jingle of keys, a coat being thrown somewhere, the sound of footsteps leading away from you into your kitchen, you heard the fridge open, you heard a beer open, all before you saw his face.
"Make yourself at home why don't you" you said, as he came into your living room and plopped himself down next to you. You instantly found yourself smiling and breathing him in, his usual scent invading your senses, making your eyes flutter shut for a second or two.
"Always do" he said simply, wrapping an arm around you to hug you.
"Ew get off" you joked, as you hugged him back, taking a deep breath as your head found a comfortable place in his shoulder..
"How was work?" you sang, making him jokingly groan at your singing.
"Good" was all he said and it made you chuckle.
"Henry Cavill everyone" you said, talking to an imaginary audience.
"How are you?" he asked, taking a sip of his beer.
"Shitty as ever my friend" you said, clinking your bottle with him as his eyebrows lifted.
"Why are you so dressed up?" he said referring to your current attire, he took your appearance in, smirking to himself and trying his hardest (as ever) to keep his thoughts to himself. He always thought you looked amazing, the most beautiful person he had ever laid his eyes on but tonight, he thought you looked phenomenally gorgeous and unfairly hot.
Tumblr media
You were wearing black skinny jeans and a black satin shirt which had been undone when your plans got cancelled, revealing lace lingerie underneath. You didn't care that it was revealing and you were infront of Henry, it just didn't matter to you, you were comfortable with each other and to be frank, he had seen much more of you before.
"I was supposed to have a date with Damien but he cancelled. Couldn’t be bothered to get changed" you said, making him groan and tilt his head back.
"That douchebag again? " he said, which made you laugh, he sounded too posh to say douchebag.
"What's wrong with him?" you asked, making him chuckle and drink his beer.
"Well for one, he's a dick, two he treats you like shit and 3 he's a dick" he said laughing.
"Yeah well he wants me so eh" you shrugged, downing your drink, knowing that wasn’t a valid reason to keep seeing him.
"Really? He cancelled on you" he said matter of factly.
"Ouch. Hurt my feelings why don't you. We get it I'm repulsive nobody wants me" you said, making him frown at you as your hand placed itself over your heart feigning heartbreak at his words.
"That's not what I meant and you know that's not true" he said, downing his drink too.
"What's the truth then?" you asked, turning to face him, your back sliding down the sofa slightly.
"You have terrible taste in men" he said, laughing which made you hit him "ouch" he said, rubbing his arm, his forehead creasing as his eyebrows furrowed at you.
"Sorry, did I hurt you big guy?" you joked, hitting him again, making him grab your wrist to stop you.
"Seriously Y/N stop" he said, making you chuckle and pull your hand away.
"God why is dating so hard? Honestly I'm just going to give up" you said, making Henry groan in agreement.
"I mean if Superman can't find someone then I've got no hope" you said, making him chuckle, his eyes following you as you stood up.
"Another one?" you asked, making him nod, you walked to your kitchen, opening the fridge and pulling out two more glasses of beer, popping the lids off..
"I miss sex" you heard Henry say making you laugh.
"Me too" you said, coming back into the room, passing him another beer, you walked to your speaker turning them on and taking your phone out of your pocket, throwing it to Henry who caught it one handedly, this was a common occurrence for the both of you, you’d give Henry your phone and he would play whatever he wanted from your music library.
"You and Damien haven't?" he asked, glancing between your phone and you as you resumed your position next to him, your head resting against his shoulder, looking at your phone in his hands.
"No we have but it was shit, didn’t get me where I needed to go if you get what I mean" you said, laughing to yourself.
"Why keep seeing him then? He's a dickhead and he can't make you cum? What's the point?" he said, making you laugh, finally shuffling a playlist of yours.
"Oh if you're fans heard you now Cavill" you said laughing to yourself, the music filling the room.
"What's that supposed to mean?" he asked, bringing the bottom up to his perfect lips, downing a considerable amount, making you smirk and do the same.
"Just that they think you're so perfect. King Cavill they call you. Here you are, speaking all improper, having a beer with your clearly delusional and repulsive best friend and talking about cum" you said making him laugh alongside you.
"Eh, don't think they'd mind" he said, turning to face you.
“That’s true, think you could practically do anything and they’d bow down” you laughed, in your mind you understood perfectly why they acted the way they did and you truly loved every single person who loved Henry because they represented everything you were, everything they saw and thought about Henry, you thought, but considerable more because you knew him, all of him, not just the person he presented himself as.
"And stop calling yourself repulsive, you're not repulsive, far from it actually" he said.
"Calm down Cavill. Carry on being so sweet and I might think you’re in love with me" you joked, shoving his chest lightly.
"Yeah because that's not possible" he mumbled, you not hearing what he said.
"Huh?"
"Nothing"
"You look exhausted" you said, looking over his features, he had bags under his eyes and the skin around his face was drooping, you still thought he looked handsome but still, he needed to rest more.
"Thanks" he chuckled deeply, closing his eyes and leaning his head against your sofa.
"You work too hard" you scolded him, your hand moving to play with his curls the way you knew he liked. It calmed him and even though this was a fairly romantic thing people did, you did it anyway. Your friendship was weird like that, you could go from acting like best friends to acting like a couple (without the sex, much to your dismay). His eyes closed and his head tilted upwards as you did, a small smile resting on his lips, before they blinked open a few times.
Tumblr media
"I enjoy my work" he said, humming at the feel of your gentle fingers in his hair. You could tell he was getting sleepy as his features softened and he no longer joked with you, the beer now long forgotten in his hand. You took the beer from his hand, placing it on the table, stopping your movements in his hair. Moving a pillow into your lap and saying his name, making his eyes open.
"I know you do, but you need to rest more, now lie down." you said firmly, gesturing for him to place his head on the pillow, to which he followed your instructions. Your hand resumed its movement in his hair, pushing the curls out of his face, running through the strands and occasionally stopping to massage his head.
"Maybe you need an older man, one who knows to treat you right” Henry said suggestively, wow he really is tired you thought.
“Treat me right? Are you talking about in or outside the bedroom?” you laughed.
“Both” he snickered.
"Going to set me up with one of your hot friends?" you said, trying to see if he was indeed talking about himself.
"I was talking about me." he said. Ah. So he was.
"Jheez you must be so exhausted" you said, trying your best to change the subject.
"I'm being serious" he said, his eyes still shut, groaning slightly as you weren't paying attention and accidentally tugged his hair.
"I'm too fucked up for you Henry. Besides you could have anyone you wanted" you said, hoping to some higher power that the topic please be changed.
"You're not fucked up, just a little messy, a little mess never hurt anyone" he said.
"You could have anyone you wanted" you repeated.
"Don't want anyone else" he said, suddenly sitting up from your lap and turning to face you.
"That beer must have gone straight to your head Henry. You don't know what you're saying"
"Don't be like that. I'm an adult, I can handle one fucking beer" he said, his tone turning you on a little. The song switched to Sail by AWOLNATION and the bass was loud, adding to the tension between you.
"Cmon Yn don't tell me you haven't thought about this" he said gesturing between you.
"I haven't" you lied.
"That's a lie. I see the way you look at me when you think I'm not looking" he said.
"Don't get me started" you warned.
"What's that supposed to mean?
"Oh c'mon Henry! You're always so protective when I tell you about guys I'm seeing, and you can't say that's just you being my best friend!" you shouted standing up from the sofa, walking to the other side of the room, turning down the music just a little.
"Yeah well, I know you have dirty dreams about me!" he shouted back making you gasp "I heard you one night when you stayed at mine, you moaned my name in your sleep"
"Yeah well, I always see you looking down my top at my tits" you said, making him look down at your boobs.
"Henry!" you shouted, your arms crossing over your chest protectively for about a second before you dropped them, not really caring if he looked.
"What! They're nice tits" he said make, a smirk on his face that you wished wasn’t there
"Well you have a nice face" you shouted back, you had no idea why the both of you were shouting at each other.
"So do you!" he shouted back.
"Yeah. Well you have rock hard abs like a fucking god? Like seriously what the hell dude?" you asked.
"Well you're fucking beautiful" he quipped back.
"Well, you have perfectly rideable thighs and sometimes when we cuddle I feel you against my arse… and c’mon how are you so big?" you said, glancing down to his thighs, flicking to his jean clad bulge, your mouth literally falling open as you did, making him chuckle at you. He hardened in his jeans as he heard you calling him big.
"It's nice arse. You have a nice arse" he said. It seemed like this was becoming a competition of who could complement the other more, you still had no idea why you were both shouting, probably to relieve the tension that was pent up inside the both of you.
"So do you! And you have really nice eyes, with the little bit of brown in the left one” you said, making him realise how much attention you paid to him.
“Not many people realise that about my eyes” he said, his mouth agape as he paused his shouting, the both of you trying to catch your breath.
“That’s because I like you.” you said, not shouting anymore.
“I like you more.” he said, still making it a competition.
"Well maybe we should just be together then if we like each other so much" you said.
"Maybe we should!" he shouted, the both of you realising that you had been moving closer to one another with every passing comment you had made, the both of you now standing chest to chest, the both of them raising and falling against each other. His eyes flicked down to your lips, to your eyes, to your breasts, back up to your lips before finally resting back on your eyes, the usual blue shade completely taken up by his pupils.
"Oh fuck it" you said , jumping into his arms, your legs wrapping round his waist, he caught you perfectly as you kissed each other. He carried the both of you back to your sofa, his lips moving perfectly against yours, as he placed the both of you on the sofa, you resting in his lap, your centres being instantly pushed together.
“I’ve wanted to kiss you for so long.” he said, breaking the kiss to tell you.
“Shut up and kiss me then” you said, his lips smudging against yours, the both of you moaning into the other, tongues finally fighting against each other, the feeling foreign but perfectly euphoric.
Tumblr media
You shifted yourself against him, feeling him large and hard against your core. He pushed your open shirt over your shoulders, it fell to your forearms, you pulled your arms out of the sleeves, flicking the shirt in a different direction. Henry’s lips paused against yours to kiss at the exposed skin at your neck, moving down to your chest. You pushed your chest against his lips as he sucked at your bosom making you gasp and rut yourself against his bulge.
“I need you” you sighed out, his head snapping backwards to look at you, his hand coming to gently grasp your face, his thumb caressing the apple of your cheek which was now flushed and warm.
“I’ve wanted this for so long” he smiled at you, he lifted the both of you up, placing sweet kisses against your lips as he carried you to your bedroom, placing you softly against your bed, your head falling softly into your pillows. He paused above you, slipping his shirt over his head, before looking over you, his features soft as he did, a sweet smile on his face as his cheeks flushed.
“You’re beautiful” he said, making you smile up at him. You reached out for him, gesturing to him, he simply shook his head, needing a moment more to take you in.
“Please Henry. Come here” you said cutely, he finally obeyed your wish, resting over you, his core flush against yours as he rested his arm by your head, his fingers drifting over your face, before he placed tender kisses against your lips. His tongue sensually making its way back into your mouth, pleasure erupting between you as he pushed his hips against you, causing you to gasp, your lips opening against his. His grunt was resounding and stirred something deep inside you that wanted to hear the noise over and over until it was the only one you knew.
“Henry” you sighed as his fingers grasped the button of your jeans, popping them open easily, his fingers slipping down until they were pressed against your core over your underwear, a moan slipping from your lips, into his mouth as his tongue fondled yours. Your hands finally reached out, resting over his muscular shoulders, the muscles contracting against your soft touch. You moved them gently down his chest, moving your lips there too, pressing an open mouth kiss against his hairy chest as his fingers continued to move against your core. Your back arched and your eyes fluttered shut. You continued the movement of your hands southward, pausing over his abs to get a feel before landing on the button of his jeans, popping them open easily and beginning to push the material down past his thighs, over his plump bottom before he got up to remove them fully, giving you the chance to do the same to yours.
You were left in your black lacy one piece, you popped the buttons at your core, revealing your wetness to him making him groan loudly as he moved back over you. You took in his black boxers, seeing a clear and large bulge straining against the material. Your eyes flicked up to his and he took you in again, smiling to himself that this was finally happening.
“Kiss me” you said simply, his lips pressing against yours again. Your hands found the hem of his boxers, pushing them down, your hand finding his large shaft, grasping it lightly, your feather-like touch had him panting into your mouth, his eyes bursting open and his lips pulling away from yours as he snapped his head down, seeing your small hand wrapped around him. He had never seen something more simple yet the sight was nothing but erotic in his mind and he had to refrain from fucking himself into your hand. You began to move your hand up and down his shaft, spreading the precum that had formed at his tip to fully cover all of him. He rested his forehead against yours, eyes fluttering shut again as he moaned deeply.
“Baby I’m not going to last, need to be inside you” he said, speaking the truth. The pet name had your mind spinning and your stomach and core fluttering.
“Yes please” you begged sweetly making him chuckle.
“You sure you want this?” he said, grasping himself and placing himself against your core, tapping his tip against your clit making you sigh lewdly, precum spilling from his tip onto your clit at the sound.
“I’m sure” you confirmed, making him push into you gently, the both of you gasping, foreheads resting against each other, eyes looking into the others, making the whole ordeal more intimate.
His head arched upwards as he bottomed out, a loud groan falling from his lips.
Tumblr media
“You okay?” he asked, his fingers caressing your cheek, moving to your bottom lip.
“Give me a second” you said, the stretch was nothing you had experienced before and you needed a second to compose yourself. His lips found yours and moved against yours slowly, drawing a moan out as his fingers found your clit.
“You can move”
“You sure?” he said, making you nod. He pulled back slowly and you moaned loudly, feeling every ridge and vein against your walls. He pulled out until just the tip was inside you, slowly pushing back in, making the both of you moan out loudly.
“Fuck” he said, repeating the action a few times, his thrusts were deep, sensual and slow, you could feel every part of him and it had you seeing stars already.
“Henry” you moaned, you had never felt anything like this, you were no virgin but no man had ever made you feel this good before. He pushed back in, his hips hitting against yours as he sped up his thrusts slightly, his member reached untouched places inside you and found your g-spot straight away, your back arched, hands flying out to grasp his shoulders for support.
“Henry” you repeated, his eyes opening to look in yours, worry written across his face “faster” you said, making him chuckle.
“We’ve got all the time in the world for that my love. Need to feel all of you. This way” he said, his words reinforced with a particularly slow and deep thrust making you gasp out.
He felt like he was being winded but it was perfect, every thrust was deeper causing pleasure to shoot inside of him, making deep and loud grunts fall from his lips which were moving against yours.
“Y/n” he moaned, as he made a particular hard thrust of his hips, his member pushing inside you harshly making the both of you swear at the feeling.
“Oh fuck” you moaned, his fingers moving against your pearl with every thrust he made. You began pushing your own hips up, meeting him halfway, creating a new feeling of pleasure.
“Look at you, absolutely glowing. Taking me in so perfectly” he said, looking down to where you were intertwined, officially moving as one being.
“You’re so deep Henry” you said, your lips fluttering over his neck, sucking against a vein which had appeared there.
“No one’s ever been this deep before have they?” he said, his hips still delivering slow and deep thrusts inside you, elongating the pleasure you both felt.
“Only you” you said and Henry knew you couldn’t have said anything more perfect and complementary.
“Oh I love you” he said, surprising you with his words, you looked at him, the both of you smiling and moaning against each other. Tears formed in your eyes, your hands grasping his face gently, kissing his lips.
“I love you too Henry. So much” you said, making his hips move faster against you, his dick still reaching deep inside you, pushing deliciously against your g-spot, pulling high pitched moans from your chest, your back arching and your hips rising off the bed.
Henry’s hands landed on your lace clad waist, leaning backwards on the bed, carrying you with him so you were on top, causing his member to fall some from your core.
Your hand steadied him against your core as you lowered yourself against him until the hilt, the hair at the base of him tickling against you as your legs draped over his thighs. You began raising yourself up before dropping yourself down, his cock somehow reaching deeper inside you, his hand supporting your movements but grasping your waist, helping raise and lower you against him. He leant back against the bed, his mouth agape as looked over you.
“Fuck Henry. Can you feel you, here” you said, grasping his hand and pushing his hand against your stomach making him moan.
“I. Love. You. So. Fucking. Much” he said, delivering particularly hard thrusts upwards into you in between every word.
“Fuck. So close” you said, lips bruising themselves against his again.
“Never felt this way before” he said, his words making you moan again. They had you seeing nothing but white as your walls fluttered against him, a near pornographic noise falling from your lips as you reached your high.
“There’s my good girl, that's it” he said, encouraging you as you came around him.
“Cum for me Henry. I need it, need to feel it inside me” you said, making his hips stutter as he came suddenly at your words, his eyes flickering in their sockets as he came. His load shooting upwards into you, coating your walls with him. Yours and his juices slipping out of you and onto his cock.
“Oh fuck” he grunted, his chest heaving as he breathed heavily, yours doing the same as you collapsed against him as he fell back, his back hitting your bed, his hands grasping your comforter. You felt him softening inside you, your walls still pulsing around him as you rested your head against his sweaty chest.
“That was fucking amazing” he swore.
“You’re the best” you said, making him growl and flip the both of you, his length falling from your warm and wet cunt, he was coated in a mixture of the both of you making you smile.
“Why didn’t we do that sooner?” he said, now lying on top of you, his arms supporting his weight.
“Because we’re idiots” you said, both of you laughing breathlessly.
“Be my girlfriend please?” he said, pushing hair out of your eyes as you smiled up at him.
“It would be my pleasure” you said, kissing him slowly, he let out a deep exhale from his nostrils.
“You’re the best thing that has ever happened to me and I want to tell everyone that you’re my girl. Will you let me tell everyone you’re my girl?” he said making your heart burst with joy.
“You better, everyone’s got to know you’re my man” you said, laughing up at him.
“I’m your man” he said, repeating the words more to himself than to you.
“You’re my man” you confirmed, making the both of you smile, you giggling as his lips began to attack your neck again.

In the Darkness
Damian Wayne x BFF!reader
Warning: scary stuff, blood, horror
It was a dark stormy night in Gotham. That terrible temperature that hovered just above freezing until almost morning where it dipped just enough to make an awful icy morning commute. Normally you would be bracing yourself for your next morning trip to school. And forget about being warm, your apartment could barely keep up with being above freezing.
But this night you sat on plush velvet with a roaring fire in a gigantic stone fireplace at one of the Wayne’s penthouses in the city. The wall sized windows showed Gotham through streaming water. It almost looked peaceful.
Breaking you from your revery was a bowl of popcorn being plopped in your lap. You looked up to see Damian with a half grin before he sat down beside you. Titus sat down on his other side.
“We have that film you wanted to watch in theatre,” he said grabbing the remote.
“D, it’s still in theatres,” you said surprised. “How did you get it?”
“A, my father is Bruce Wayne. I could probably buy it. And B, I saved a certain theatre from being robbed and they owed me one and they lent me the film. You’re welcome,” he said, still looking at the screen. For Damian, that was practically the biggest compliment, that he thought about you.
“Thanks. Yeah, I usually just block out the fact that your dad is Bruce Wayne to be honest,” you said eating the popcorn.
“Be less honest,” he said with a gentle shoulder shove. “Let’s watch the film. I have to train tomorrow.”
It was a good movie. Scary with a bit of gore, though you weren’t prepared for Damian to tell you how blood patterns worked differently.
But with only 10 minutes left and the killer almost revealed, the power went out. You groaned and moved to grab your phone. Damian stiffened and looked around.
“Great, my phone is dead,” you said rolling your eyes. Damian quickly looked at his, dead too. At this point he was tense and Titus was on alert.
“Nothing should be out,” he said quietly.
“It’s a big storm, dude,” you said about to ask about flashlights.
“We have 2 main power supplies and 3 back ups. There should be no outage. And my phone was fully charged before the movie. There was a power pulse. This is a Wayne Enterprise owned building and we are in the penthouse. This could be an attack or coop,” he said standing. Titus stood by him and you couldn’t help but stand.
“There’s 2 ways to this floor. The main elevator and the service elevator that is in the guest bathroom,” Damian said. Knowing your location could save your life.
“You think someone is coming up here,” you said quietly. He nodded and moved over to the wall and grabbed a sword from a stand on the wall. You had thought it was decorative. Of course it was real. It was Damian’s.
“Here,” Damian said, reaching in his pocket to grab a large pocket knife. You blanched. “Worst case scenario only. You could hurt yourself before someone else because you aren’t trained. But if your cornered, this could save your life. Only open it if you really need it. Got it?”
“Yeah, D,” you said with frown. He stood a few feet in front of you and Titus was a safe distance away on alert. Your heart was pounding. You really regretted not taking Damian up on the offer to teach you some self defense. At the time the idea of bruises all over your body was the last thing you wanted.
The elevator dinged. It shouldn’t have. You needed a passcode and finger print to operate it. Not to mention, the power was supposed to be out. The door opened and a green mist wafted out and Damian stepped back to avoid it. Gotham villains loved toxins and he didn’t want to be under the power of fear toxin or pheromones or something. Titus got a dose and began barking wildly.
Damian pushed you back with his arm not holding the sword. “Try not to breath it,” he said as the mist filled the apartment. He could make out the shape of a person but couldn’t identify them. Within a minute, Damian realized that they were just some poor victim of whoever set up the toxin. They were screaming silently while their eyes darted around the room. Great, it was probably fear toxin.
Damian pushed a panic button he kept in his jacket pocket at pretty much all times. Hopefully the energy pulse didn’t affect the button. You shoved your shirt over your nose but it was futile. Damian stood in front of you looking around wildly. His eyes were dilated and his breathing was rough.
“Don’t move. It’s all fake! Don’t fall for it. It’s all fake!” He yelled and swung his sword away from you at nothing. Your vision blurred.
Damian and Titus fought some invisible monster in front of you. You turned to see the windows melting. You gasped loudly as the glass slid down like wet gelatin. The floor grew heavy. You weren’t even facing the same direction as Damian any more. You heart thumped painfully in a hard slow rhythm.
Thump. Thump. Thump.
You heard screaming laughter. Was the fucking Joker here?? You looked around to see no one.
“It’s in your head,” Damian yelled. He was still fighting an invisible foe. “It’s fake!”
The wall began to cave in. You could feel your body slide slowly towards the gaping window. You grasped at the couch but it too began to slide towards the edge of the wall. You were 50 floors up. There was no way to survive it. You shrieked and grabbed at the slick tile floor. The cold marble bit at your hands.
You could see your blood stick to the floor before defying gravity and floating to the ceiling. It pulsed with your heartbeat. You could hear the laughter in your head. It was so loud. You grasped at your skull. Your bloodied fingers left little streaks of blood all over your face.
Damian was calling you but he was the most dangerous one in the room. He was wildly swinging a sword and he and Titus were furiously fighting a battle. Was he fighting a past foe? The man in the elevator picked the wrong moment to move because Damian came closer and closer to him.
You watched as Damian killed him. His sword sliced the man’s arm first and he barred his teeth before growling at Damian. His eyes were wild and movement was more like an animal over human. Damian slashed him, this time in the abdomen. Dark red blood pooled from the wound and the man bellowed in pain. You cried and rocked. The world was collapsing.
The man was like a wounded beast and he tried to gnarl and slash his hands at Damian. Damian jabbed quickly, almost faster than you could see, and the man breathed his last breath as Damian’s sword pierced his heart. Blood pooled out almost lazily post death. The man’s eyes froze wide and terrible. You cried freely. Damian didn’t stop. He clearly was fighting another foe in his mind.
You balance turned on you and you almost threw up as you gripped the floor. “Stop! Stop!” You yelled as Damian and Titus both continued their battle with nothing.
The floor was turning again. This time, it became sticky as the ceiling melted down towards you. Little bits of melted plaster burned the floor. You rolled away as a large chunk hit the ground. The laughter sounded again and you saw a flash of white face pulled tight in a chaotic laugh.
The second elevator sounded and you scampered away and to behind the couch. Your fingers were white as they gripped the fabric to keep from falling out of the window. Monsters, beasts, men in black suits hurried towards you. Damian screamed and slashed at the air between him and the attacker.
“Don’t touch her! Don’t fucking touch her,” he bellowed. But it was too late. A monster in red grabbed you. You screamed and fought, landing a hit to their chest and a bite to their hand.
“She fucking bit me! Goddamn,” the big man groaned. He wrapped his arms around you tightly and you bucked but it was useless. He had you and you couldn’t escape. A man in black and blue shot Damian with a taser. This was how you were going to die, in a melting building with men as monsters grabbing you. How could you possibly fight them when they took Damian down? He’s the son of Batman.
A monster with a shifting face, once a man and another a beast, came towards you with a syringe. His mouth gaped and swallowed blackness. “No! No,” you moaned. Your throat was raw from screaming. He quickly jabbed you in the neck. Before you passed out, you saw the screaming laughing face of the Joker.
—————————————
12 hours later you woke up. You sat up quickly only to see Damian’s bedroom in the manor. Your head spun for a moment before stopping. His crisp white sheets and blue blanket and red ornamental rug laid on wooden floor. You were alone. You felt a small bandage on your neck and your fingers had small scabs along the nail lines on both hands. One of your fingernails was cut jagged to the quick. You grimaced as you touched the injured skin.
The walk from his bed into the hallway showed you two things: the floor was really cold and that you were wearing Damian’s clothing. A simple grey sweatpants rolled up and black Superman shirt was not enough in the chilly manor. You opened the door to an empty hallway. The floor had a thick soft rug that covered the sounds of your feet. You heard the sound of voices from the library at the end of the hall.
“I almost killed her,” you heard Damian say. His voice sounded pained and raw.
“It was the fear toxin. You didn’t do anything,” said one of his brothers. You couldn’t tell who yet but probably the oldest.
“I almost eviserated her, Grayson,” Damian said flatly. “The fear toxin made her cry in the corner and I almost cut her in 2.”
“She managed to bite me,” said another deeper voice.
“You left yourself open to be attacked,” said a third voice.
“Enough. She’s awake,” said a final voice that you definitely recognized as Damian’s father. “Come in.”
Damian sat on the edge of a wooden desk. Bruce sat in the desk chair behind the desk. Dick sat on a chair in the corner. Jason stood by Dick’s chair and Tim paced by a bookshelf. The other bat kids must have been out working.
“Hey,” Damian said searching your face and body for injury. He almost looked... vulnerable. His eyes stared at the bandage on your neck.
“Hi,” you said and your voice felt raw and painful. You rubbed your throat.
“How are you feeling?” Bruce asked. Damian quickly got you a chair. You sat down slowly. Your head still throbbed.
“Okay I guess. What happened?” You asked.
“Someone got ahold of a new street drug that uses a certain variety of fear toxin that is fast acting but short term and they atomized it and released it into the tower. They did it through a vent from the top down so you both got the largest dose. Luckily the security guard on the bottom floor only had some anxiety and a racing heartbeat and was able to recognize the situation. Damian’s tracker was activated and we got you both out as fast as we could,” Tim said.
You rubbed your temple. That didn’t sound right. What about the elevator? The man?
“Does your head hurt? We can get you something for that,” Damian said.
“I’m okay. Thanks. How long was I out?” You said trying to put things together.
“12 hours, give or take. You should probably get back in bed until tomorrow. Your mind and body need a break,” Bruce said. You nodded. Your head did hurt and you were tired but you couldn’t relax. There was just something off about everything. Maybe a side effect of the toxin. Damian offered to walk you back into your room.
“I’ll give you some medication to help with your headache. It might make you sleepy, okay?” He said pulling a syringe from a drawer in the room.
“Okay, I guess. My head does hurt,” you said climbing back in bed. Damian smiled and injected your arm.
His face. He smiled widely. Wider than he ever had before. Wide enough to have a gaping blackness. You went to scream but you were too tired. You tried to grab him to find you were tied in place. The manor’s neat clean walls faded to dirty dingy peeling mess and you could smell must and mildew. Your vision blurred.
The sound of a screaming laugh from a pulled back face was the only thing you could hear.
Let me know what you guys think 😀
It’s a part 1 of 2. The second part might be out Friday or next Friday depending on my schedule.

Bakugou x Black Model!Reader
Tumblr media
TW: Bakugou being the Reader’s Superman at the end! Protective and Caring Bakugou.
@fanlovedlt because you’ve been my biggest supporter and all my love goes out to you. I love you and thank you!!! ❤️❤️❤️🥰🥰🥰
“I feel ridiculous.”
Those were the three words out your mouth once you saw yourself in a Mirror. They told you that you would’ve been modeling for an Urban Catalog, which made you curious enough to agree. But when you arrived and saw that the entire staff was snooty, rich, white people... You knew it was all downhill from there. All these 40-50 years old white women with cornrows using words like “Hip” and shit, you wanted to sigh so hard and slap your Forehead, hoping to knock you out. The Head designer that was running this whole thing, was the age of Dolly Parton, and you can bet all your money that this Bitch had a MAGA hat in her possession somewhere. (Bitch let the Hat go! He not even President anymore!)
“Ridiculous?! Darling you look fabulous! You’re catalog is going to end racism over night! I mean, all you guys are wearing clothes like this all the time! Once they see {Full Name or Stage Name}In my new “Urban isn’t Just Black” line.. It will HUGE!” You stared at this Bitch in BLACK DISBELIEF!!! Urban isn’t just Black?! REALLY?! BITCH ARE YOU DYING OF DEMENTIA?!?This Catalog would strip you of your dignity, get you jumped in the hood, ruin your profession as one of the Biggest Models in the industry. “You gotta joking. I can’t.” You said to her. She gave you a look with a raised eyebrow, she scoffed. “What do you mean you can’t? You will! Now go to the set, and I don’t want to hear otherwise.” The lady said, about to walk away, her walking away from you flipped that switch inside you.
“Well That’s Too Damn Bad! You can’t force me to this! Who do you think you are?!” You snapped at her, she turned and smirked at you. “The one in charge of your pay. Now you better do what I say or no money, got it?” You looked at her, She had some nerve! You have more pride and dignity than this, even though she’s right about the money, you’re better than this. You’re not gonna sell out like this. “I Quit.” You said, you didn’t sound confident, but you knew you were sure as hell, not doing this Shoot. “You what?” She asked with a very displeased face. “I Quit! Doing this shoot will only please you, not me. And I’m not sorry when I say I’m not a people pleaser.” You said walking off.
“Consider yourself Done in this industry! I’ll see to it that you will never get another opportunity! And get blacklisted, no one will ever see your face in magazines and billboards ever again!”
Your heart broke. Your whole career gone just like that. Refusing to let her see that she got to you, you had rolled your eyes and said that you didn’t care. But you did care, a whole bunch. You gathered your things, and left out that building as quickly as possible. That’s when the tears really fell, the warm wind from the city blew away your tears as you try not to panic about your career. Your mind started to spin, so you wasn’t watching where you going. You bumped into a strong chest, knocking you back a bit. You looked up with tears heavily in your eyes, you sniffed and apologized.
The strong chest you bumped into you was about to aggressively tell you to ‘Watch it! But then he saw the tears in your eyes, your face was stunning, even with the tears in your eyes. Bakugou softened, before you got far, he grabbed your arm. “Hey, are you okay?” You turned around to realize that the guy that you were about to punch for grabbing your arm was none other than, Katsuki Bakugou Hero Name Dynamite. You relaxed a bit, he was a hero, you were safe. “I asked are you alright?” He repeated. He don’t know what possessed him on his day off to becoming heroic for you. But something in your beautiful golden face, and your (e/c) eyes. You seemed to glow even when you’re looking like this.
You broke down, you don’t know why, but you let it all out to him. He cradled you in his arms, shocked and upset. “Hey, hey, calm down.... What’s your name?” He asked in his most gentle voice. You sniffed and looked up at him, “{Name.}” you answered. “You’re career is not over. Take me to the agency that did this to you.” He said, you were shocked. “W-What?” You said confused. “No one should suffer because they stood up for themselves. That line you described sounds awful, and they should be punished for threatening your career like that. You’re gonna be fine, I’ll make sure of it.” He looked down at you with a reassuring smile.
You looked at him with shocked at appreciation in your eyes. “You’ll do that for me? I mean, you don’t even know me.” You said, Bakugou stiffened, you were right, you didn’t know his and same vice versa. But something about you, your foreign features to him, amazed him. He could tell you were someone worth protecting, Plus, he had a little time to spare, might as well yell at some racist woman. “Let’s go.” Bakugou simply said. You smiled, grabbed his hand, and started leading him to the studio. When you entered, you had a confident walk, you were excited, it was time to settle this and save your career.
“Hey Bitch!” You called out to the lady, she turned away from her assistant and dropped her jaw, clipboard, and coffee. She was shocked to see Bakugou standing there, you smirked. “You think you can ruin my career?! Well We! Don’t think so! Dynamite, let her have it.” You said giving him his cue. Bakugou glared at the woman, he could tell that she was a rich, selfish, entitled, racist bitch. “Did you threaten her pay and career?” He asked in a seriously low voice. “Sir- Mr. Dynamite! Please understand that she was rude to me! All I did was ask her to wear our product for this shoot!” The lady tried to explain, Bakugou shook his head. “So when she said ‘No.’ You choose to ruin her career?!” Bakugou added with a lil more volume in his voice.
“She had no right! This is my shoot, and what I say goes! And why are you fighting for her?! Don’t you’re people Hate her kind?” The lady asked. Both you Bakugou went wide eyed and inhaled deeply. You were the first to snap, “Why you prejudice, wrinkly ass Rick Sanchez looking-” Bakugou stopped you by grabbing your hand, catching you off guard. Once he collected his words, he let go and started walking up towards the woman with a disgusted look on his face. “Lady, I’m going to need you to check your privilege, and your ignorance. To answer your question, I don’t hate her kind unlike someone I’m looking at right now. {Name}’s kind is fucking great! Everything from their Hair, to their skin, body type, and Creativity. And I know a lot of other Heroes that loves the same thing, and dating them.
To be honest, I hate your kind. Running around thinking you own the fucking world as you step on people’s dreams and freedom just to get on top. Well let me bring you back to reality. The moment I say something about this incident, it’s gonna spread fast. Not only will you go to court, you’ll lose your money, business, and all that Material shit you like. If anyone’s career is ruined, it’s going to be yours.” The lady was silent, completely stuck and realizing how fucked she was. “So, do you want this incident to get out? Or do you wanna forget this ever happened and you can keep all of your money, and Not mess with {Name}’s career. Dealers choice.
“Fine! Fine! I won’t ruin {Name}’s Career.” The lady said, “Now you’re gonna give {Name} the pay she was supposed to receive today, and Give her an apology as well. And it better be genuine.” Bakugou added. The woman was nervous when she started looking at you, you stood there with your arms folded. “{Name}... I shouldn’t have tried to ruin your just because you said no. I apologize for thinking I was above you.” The lady said. You smiled, “Thank you, now my check?” You asked with your hand sticking out like the Littlest Gross Sister off Proud Family. The Lady demanded her sister to fill out the check quickly. Once the check came into your hands, you felt so good and relieved. You turned to the hero.
“Thank you so much, I know you hear this a lot, but you’re my hero.” You smiled brightly, it was so beautiful to Bakugou, he saw the twinkle in your eyes, the glow you possessed because you’re skin was so skin was so radiant. You grabbed his hand again and you both walked out the studio. Once you two were outside, Bakugou stopped and stared at you. “You okay?” You asked, Bakugou smirked. “Yeah.” He simply responded. “I seriously can’t thank you enough for what you said and did for me.” “Hey, it’s what heroes do.” He said. “I guess this is where we part ways... I’m really glad I bumped into you.” You said as you tried to pull away, but Bakugou’s grip got tighter.
“It doesn’t have to be this way... We can, Go to a restaurant and arcade? If you like?” Bakugou offered. You were shocked by the date offer, you smiled because one of the Top Pro Heroes want to go out with you, who would turn down this opportunity?! You jumped with joy and skipped up to him, “Can we go somewhere with Laser Tag?” You asked him, He smiled “Hell yeah, I bet I can kick your ass!” He declared, that caused you to give a cocky smile as you stared at him, “Oh yeah? Then game on Mr. Dynamite.” Bakugou shook his head, “I’m off duty, please call me Bakugou” He said, you raised one eyebrow. “Is that a first or last name?” You asked. “Last.”
“Okay, before this night ends, I’ll know you by first name.”

“Do we know that this will work for sure?”
“It’ll work.” Violet eyes looked into green before the gaze was averted, letting a sigh of concern leave the young man’s lips. There were many uncertainties, many questions lingering in the air. As it was expected after everything they had gone through. They’ve had one hell of a time, after all. But there was something else, too.
“Would you rather have the world as it is right now?” She then asked again after a moment, placing her hand over his and bringing his eyes back to her.
“I- Of course not,” he stuttered and took a quick look at the people- the survivors around them before locking his eyes with hers once more. “I just- We only just got each other back. I don’t want to lose you again.” His brows furrowed, he tried his best to hide the immense pain in his chest that he felt just thinking about it. But he knew she felt it regardless. She always did. A sigh escaped her lips as well.
“I know,” she mumbled and looked over at the water before them, her lips curling into a sad smile. “But- We found each other in this timeline. I’m sure we can find each other again in another.”
He looked at her in somewhat of an awe and surprise of how lightly she seemed to take the situation at hand and before he even knew it, he released an incredulous chuckle.
“How do you know that?”
“I don’t.” A simple shrug and a gentle squeeze on his hand as she could see Flash preparing to start his run from the corner of her eyes. “All I can do is hope.”
And a whoosh sound went past them. That’s how they all knew these were their last moments together like this and it brought a tear in her eyes. As fucked up as the world turned out to be, she had loved so much of it. She found friends, found family, she found love. And all of that would be gone in a blink of an eye. Even if it was for a better future, she couldn’t help but to feel sad about losing all the positives that she had gained during her stay here.
“Raven-” his voice brought her back from her thoughts and she looked at him teary-eyed, noticing the sadness in his own eyes as well- “what if we can’t find each other in the new timeline? This new- Flashpoint?” The thought of her not being able to find him pained her to the point that it felt like her heart had just gotten pierced by a dagger, but she had to remain hopeful. She had to.
“Dum spiro spero, Damian,” the girl spoke through her tears and lifted her free hand to caress his cheek. “While I breathe, I hope.”
“Dum spiro spero,” he repeated in a whisper in an almost desperate thought that speaking those words out loud would help to make it come true and slowly leaned in until their lips touched for their first and their last kiss in this timeline as the world around them slowly disappeared in a bright light…
------------
Deep breath…
Be calm…
You can do it…
Violet eyes slowly opened as she took in the scenery before her. It was definitely much different than Metropolis. Darker. More grim. Filled with so many negative emotions. Fear, hatred, greed… She hadn’t arrived too long ago and she already hated being here. But she had set her mind on doing this and, well, she was already here, so there was no backing down now. Sporting the signature look of her family, Raven roamed about along the rooftops of this godforsaken city in hopes of attracting the kind of attention she came here for. And she didn’t have to wander around for too long before she heard that very familiar deep voice behind her.
“You’re far away from home, kid.”
She wasn’t startled or afraid of the man in the slightest, so she turned around to face him as if she had expected him.
“I didn’t know how else to contact you,” the girl responded confidently.
Sure, he wasn’t the friendliest of superheroes she knew. In fact, most people, sometimes even his own friends, were afraid of him. And while, yes, he did give off this dreadful vibe, Raven was more- curious. There was a sense of familiarity with him and she felt comfortable enough around him.
“Well- Not without Superman finding out about it, anyway,” she added in once his silence told her that her response wasn’t extensive enough. Of course, there were other ways to contact Batman. But not without someone else’s help. Which is exactly what she didn’t need this time.
“Why are you here then?” Brief with his words, as always, the masked vigilante stepped out of the darker corner of the rooftop.
And that’s when she froze for a moment. Like she hadn’t thought of even getting this far. Suddenly doubting if it had been a good idea to come here after all. Was this the right thing to do? Behind Clark’s back? Not telling anyone? Not trying a different alternative and just going straight to Batman? Who was currently looking right at her, expecting an answer-
“I- I wanted to ask for your help in finding someone,” Raven stammered a bit at first, but found her confidence again towards the end of her sentence.
“There are legal ways to do that.”
“Not for someone who’s got no legal records on the entire planet,” she was quick to respond, but stopped for a brief moment before elaborating with a sigh. “Look, all I got is a fake ID and fake adoption papers. As far as the law is concerned, I didn’t exist until I was fourteen. And even for someone who was born on Earth and dropped at an orphanage as an infant, it could take years to- to find your actual family, so… Please. All I want is a chance.”
Batman looked intently at her, putting the puzzle pieces together the more she spoke. He didn’t say anything- did he ever?- only hummed in thought. Sure, he could ask her why she didn’t just go to Clark and Lois for this. They were renowned reporters, very much capable of helping her. But she had made it clear that she didn’t want Clark to know she was even in Gotham right now, meaning she probably didn’t want them to know anything at all about this. A foster child looking for their blood related family not wanting to tell their foster family about it to not hurt their feelings? He’d seen that all too many times before. Some with less happy endings than others.
“You’ve been on Earth for how many years? Why now?” His raspy voice then finally broke the silence, startling her just a little bit. Of course, she had expected a question like that to pop up. But truth to be told, she had no solid answer for it. Or, what could be considered a solid answer, anyway. There were many things she could tell him in response. That she wanted to know if she had any blood relatives on Earth at all. That her mother had been an adopted child herself and she wanted to do this for her. Or that she could never go back to Azarath because it got destroyed and she missed her mother, even though they were never truly allowed to have a proper mother-daughter relationship, so she was seeking a way to somehow connect with her through others of her bloodline. Or that there was just something constantly missing in her life and she felt like she was always searching for something- someone, not even knowing what or who that was, so she was hoping that finding family would perhaps quench this feeling. But- It was all so complicated, even for her.
“I just want to know.” That was a simpler answer.
Raven shrugged and hid her hands behind her back, thinking for a brief moment as her gaze grew distant, not focusing on anything in particular. “I’d like to think that getting to know both sides of my family would do me good.”
A part of that was true, too. All she ever really was recognized as by those who didn’t know her was the demon’s daughter. A hellspawn, born to an interdimensional beast that almost destroyed this world just like he had done with countless others, had her adoptive family and the heroes of Earth not intervened and helped her stop him. Having a nice, quiet, normal family somewhere sounded nice sometimes. But again, it wasn’t the main reason.
The Bat’s “hm” almost sounded like a growl as he contemplated the sincerity of Raven’s explanation, unsure if he should trust it or not. Well, she didn’t blame him for not trusting her. Not a lot of people did. Her eyes returned to observing the masked man before her in anticipation of his response. Luckily, however, she didn’t have to wait for too long. Glancing sideways for a second as if hearing something, he looked back to her and swiftly turned around.
“Follow me,” he said as he started making his way to the edge of the roof. “It’s not wise to parade around Gotham with that “S” on your chest.”
“It’s- not an “S”...” The girl mumbled quietly under her nose, but quickly levitated after him as the two of them got down into one of the many dark alleyways where he’d hidden the Batmobile. It was for the best not to argue with him since he seemed like having agreed to her plea, even if he didn’t outright say it.
It wasn’t a no either.

Flowers - Pt. 2
Part 1, Part 2, Part 3, Part 4, Part 5 (end)
(Damian x Reader) Soulmate AU
Rating: T
Ages: Damian and you are 16, everyone’s ages follow after.
Summary: Soulmate AU where the wounds on your soulmate turns into a flower tattoo on your skin, if it heals with no scars the tattoo goes away, if it heals with a scar then the tattoo stays. You know who your soulmate is. It’s Robin. The vigilante. The crime-fighter and protector of Gotham who runs along side the Dark Knight himself – Batman. And you’re still you. This couldn’t possibly work, could it?
Notes: I did not expect my last fic to gain as much popularity as it had, and I am so thankful. @grincheveryday said there had to be a part 2, and although I wasn’t planning on it – I relented. And now here we are, with part 2.
Anyway, thank you again so much for the lovely comments. I hope you guys enjoy it.
Disclaimer: I do not own DC. If I did, I wouldn’t make it as confusing as it is now.
Metropolis. The convention was to be held in Metropolis. The city of Superman! I was more than excited when the school informed us, and it turned out that Lex Corp. was sponsoring our transport and accommodations.
Gotham Academy instructed us to pack a week’s worth. The actual event was going to run for a total of one week. 3 days to try and impress during the showcase. After that they scheduled a meeting for students and companies who were interested in internships and mentoring, which would last another 2 days. On the last day Wayne Ent. promised a gala to finish off with a bang.
“Oh, my baby is growing up.” Mom said as she helped me pack.
“It’ll only be a week, mom. You’re not getting rid of me that easy.” I laughed.
It was a decent trip going to the big city of Metropolis. What I noticed first were the clean streets and bright colours. The sun was actually out of the clouds (something that only happened a handful of times during the year back at Gotham). There was a lot of excited chatter on the bus as soon as we entered.
“Alright children, you know the rules. Keep close and stay in sight.” Our science professor spoke up over the murmurs.
“Ah, Gotham Academy I’m presuming!” A boisterous voice caught our attention and successfully made us all quiet.
It was Mr. Lex Luthor.
“Mr. Luthor, it’s an honour. May I just say on behalf of our school we’d like to thank you for the generous hospitality.”
“The honour is mine.” He replied to our guide and professor as he shook her hand. “With such young and brilliant minds, how can I refuse?”
It felt surreal to be there. To be meeting with one of the most famous inventors and businessmen on the planet. I thought about pinching myself but if this was a dream, I didn’t want it to end.
We were ushered into the building that we were going to be staying at for the next week. It looked amazing on the inside just as it did on the outside. The receptionist smiled warmly at us when we entered. As the adults talked about where to place us, my schoolmates and I were left in a waiting area with large, soft sofas. I sighed in delight thinking this day couldn’t get any better.
The briefing was short, and we were sent to our rooms to freshen up before dinner. If I thought the lounge was awesome, the bedrooms were 5 times more. The walls were cream in colour, and the furniture’s light tan tint complimented the aesthetic. Two queen sized beds since were to stay in pairs. Bright yellow flowers on beautifully painted vases stood on each of our bedside tables.
I took the bed closest to the window, and placed my bags on the floor. My roommate didn’t mind as she unzipped her suitcase and began to make herself at home. As we shuffled around placing our belongings in their respective areas, I couldn’t help but wonder if Robin would be here. It was a million to one chance since many schools from Gotham were involved, but still, I hoped.
You don’t even who he is, or even how he looks like under that mask — my inner muse said pointedly. I sighed, knowing it was right.
That evening I opted to go to the dining hall a little earlier than expected. I didn’t have any friends around, since it was limited to one student per section. So I found myself alone sitting on a table with my name printed all fancy on a card. I sighed, pulling out my phone and going over the slides of my presentation for the invention.
“Good evening.” A presence alerted me and I fumbled as my phone slipped from my hands.
They caught it in one swoop.
I looked up and found myself face to face with a pair of clear forest green eyes.
“Apologies, I didn’t mean to startle you. My name is Damian Wayne.” His tone was clipped as he handed me my phone, like he wanted to be anywhere else but here.
I swallowed thickly, I’m sure I looked flustered, he seemed like he was in a bad mood. Quickly clearing my throat I took my phone from him and introduced myself as quickly as I could.
“Pleasure to make your acquaintance.” He said stiffly and sat down beside me.
There must’ve been a mistake on the placement of the name cards. Usually they would assign our seats in accordance to our sections. Mine should be at the last... and oh my god his name is next to mine?!  How did I not notice this???
“The - the pleasure is mine.” I said nervously and tucked my phone back in my pocket.
I may not be part of any of his (or his brothers’) fan club, but I wasn’t living under a rock. Damian Wayne. Son of Bruce Wayne; the one who organised this entire endeavour. The son of a multi-billionaire business man. The prince of Gotham! What in the world was he doing here — next to me?!
There was a painfully thick awkward silence between us, or maybe it's just me — I bit my lip and looked everywhere else in the room but the boy who was sitting beside me.
Taking deep breaths to calm myself down, I noticed a pleasant aroma in the air. I must’ve missed it after our surprising introductions, but his perfume smelled good. It wasn’t a scent I would normally smell nowadays, but I immediately recognised it.
“Arabian oud.” I said out loud. Unintentionally mind you, to which I mentally facepalmed.
I quickly covered my mouth and apologised. Great, now he’ll think you’re a creep, way to go.
“Yeah.” Damian cocked a brow at me and narrowed his eyes. “It is, not many people know.”
“My dad. He liked those kinds of scents. Came a cross it one time during a case he was working on. I guess it grew on me too.”
Talking about my dad to a complete stranger, it was nerve wrecking but at the same time the memory calmed me, and the scent dancing between us only lulled me further into memory lane.
“It sticks better than regular perfume.” He said nonchalantly.
I had to giggle at that. “Well you get what you pay for.” He scoffed, and I reminded myself that this guy was probably rolling in money every day.
There was silence again, but this time a little less awkward. I still hoped everyone would be here soon though.
My wish was granted. Not five minutes later, the room started to get filled. Everyone took their respective places and made quick chatter. Damian and I stayed quiet though. Perhaps his friends weren’t able to come either, well we had that in common.
Damian was introduced to us before the waiters served our food. Apparently he wasn’t part of the convention but because Wayne Ent. was the one sponsoring, Mr. Wayne deemed it necessary for him to make an appearance.
I sighed to myself and looked around, this really was nothing like I expected it to be.
-x-x-x-
Dinner was delicious. Everyone was happily stuffed and ready for bed. Everyone but me. I couldn’t relax after sitting next to Damian the whole night. I felt his stares multiple times but every time I try to catch him I fail.
As soon as we were done an old man wearing formal attire came to pick him up. Didn’t know where to, but I heard “father” and “penthouse”. Rich kids...
Maybe it was just me who was getting a little paranoid. Maybe it was because of all the rumours I heard of how fan clubs treat other girls who even dared to talk to him other than a polite hi or wave. I shuddered at the thought. Our professor was droning on about the rules (again) and the importance of the buddy system. I briefly wondered if I could sneak out for a small walk around the block or something to release some energy.
And that was exactly where I found myself later that evening. I managed to pass the receptionist and walk a couple of minutes around the area. Not too far, the hotel was still in view. There were people around minding their own business, which was new for me since around this time in Gotham, everyone would be at home. The crisp air felt good, and I was finally able to relax. It was too stuffy being next to him. His smell, it reminded me too much of dad. The memory made a lump form in my throat.
I looked up at the starless sky and blinked back tears. Mom said he’d be proud, I wanted to believe it was true.
“Aw little girl. Why so upset?”
I whirled around and saw a man all dressed in baggy black clothes inch closer at me. “How about you come with me and I can make you feel all better.”
I took a step back as my heart started to race. This was probably not the best idea, even though this was Superman’s City, it didn’t mean crime didn’t exist.
A heavy hand gripped tightly at my shoulder and I realised with utter dread that I was surrounded. Only one way to run and it was through the alley. Every instinct in me shouted that it would be a really bad idea, first off I didn’t know the place, and if I just ran I could very well get lost.
But the grip on my shoulder was worse than anything I could’ve imagined at the moment.
“You’re a pretty little thing aren’t ya.” Another man came in and slid his hands across my cheek before covering my mouth.
His breath smelled of alcohol and smoke. It made me gag.
“I’ve got some great ideas on what I can do with you.” He snickered and dropped his other hand lower onto my chest. I gasped in fear.
No, this isn’t happening.
They pushed me further into the alley, away from prying eyes, and into to the shadows. The man started to grope my waist and hips.
This isn’t happening!
I wanted to fight back, wanted to bite his hand and shout, but my body was frozen. I was in shock. My inner voice was yelling at me to do something, to do anything! But fear clasped me tight and hard.
Then he forced his dirt calloused hand under my shirt and touched my breast.
That snapped me out of it.
With a sense of need to survive I dug my elbow into the man who was holding me and shoved the one in front with as much force as I could muster, exactly how dad taught me. They grunted in pain, and their hold on me lifted. I bolted down the dimly lit passage as soon as I was free.
But they didn’t stop. They called after me, swearing and cursing slurs as they ran. Their footsteps echoed along the tight alley. How many of them were there? 4?
They chanted along what they were planning on doing with me once they catch me. It was horrible. My throat tightening in disgust. I couldn’t even begin to comprehend how their minds worked. The tears were beginning to fall as every turn I took only lead deeper into the maze.
I kept running, taking quick sharp turns in the hopes to loose them. I refused to go like this. But my heart plummeted as soon as I faced a dead end.
They were all laughing at my demise, taking their time to get to me so the fear really soaked in. They strolled and taunted. Taking out their ropes and knives from their coat pockets.
“This was a really stupid idea...” I whimpered to myself, wiping my wet cheeks furiously as I did.
“No shit.” I instantly recognised the voice. “We really need to stop meeting like this.”
A figure dropped in front of me, clad in familiar colours. I felt my knees go weak and a new wave of tears started to fall. I sobbed in relief.
Robin pulled out his katana and growled at the men.
“Do not touch her.” He spat at them.
“Robin? But isn’t he supposed to be with the Bat?” One of them questioned, but he was outright ignored.
Their leader, the one who groped me, laughed. A loud barking sort of laughter.
“Don’t touch her?” He mimicked. “But I already have. Must say, she’s quite soft.” He leered at me, I could feel him undressing me with his eyes and I instantly clutched my jacket tighter.
“Bastard!” Robin shouted and threw himself into battle.
They didn’t look worried though.
“You’re just a boy!” They yelled at him as they aimed to kill.
It didn’t phase him as he attacked with the same precision as he did before. Their bullets were evaded with his quick movements. I protected my head with my arms and dashed behind a corner full of crates.
“Excuse me.”
I turned to the person next to me.
He offered a smile, and I noticed his feet weren’t touching the ground. He was hovering over the air.
“Quit stalling Superboy!” Robin grunted. “Take her someplace safe!”
“You heard him.” He told me, and carried me bridal style before flying away.
I clutched on to him as the ground became further and further away.
“Wait — what about Robin?” My voice sounded weak but I didn’t want to just leave him behind.
Superboy looked at me and grinned. “He’ll be okay.”
He set me down on the roof of a building just above the fight.
“Can you wait here a moment? We’ll be right back.”
He looked a few years older, dressed in his father’s colors and symbol proudly plastered on the middle of his chest.
I managed a small nod before he zipped back down and joined the fight. With a bit more courage I peered down and watched as they bravely fought the men. Superboy withheld from using his lasers too much, I suppose since they were in such an enclosed space. Robin on the other hand looked like he was putting everything he had out there.
It ended quite fast, with the men tied up in a rope. Robin seemed to be talking to Superboy, the metahuman nodded once and pointed up where I was standing. I quickly looked away and walked back.
A grappling hook shot up before hooking itself to the side of the building. Robin swung forward and landed gracefully in front of me. He looked angry.
I tried not to look at him straight in the eye, hoping to make myself smaller.
“Did they hurt you?” He asked, his voice filled with concern but still laced with a little venom.
I bit my bottom lip to keep it from quivering, I felt so ashamed, and so used. I felt dirty.
“He touched me...” I chocked out, trying to keep the tears at bay and failing.
Robin clenched his fists.
“What were you doing outside at this hour?”
“I - I just wanted to take a walk. I didn’t - it wasn’t -“ I was shaking. All I wanted to do was go back home and hide under my covers.
He sighed and pinched the bridge of his nose. I heard him walk up to me and hold my chin, turning it towards him as he wiped the tears.
“Stop crying.” He said. “You’re safe now.”
Not being able to help it, I threw my arms around him and hugged him tight. I wasn’t an overly physical type of person but I needed something solid, something safe, to clutch on to after what just happened. I wished my mom was here, but then I also didn’t since all this would do would only worry her more. I dreaded the fact that I needed to tell her what happened. But for now I just breathed in and out, trying to calm myself. Robins arms slowly encircled me, and he patted my shoulder awkwardly.
Wait — this smell…
Arabian oud.
I tensed, and pushed back. Robin looked a little confused at the suddenly change but loosened the hug.
My heart started to race as I looked up at his face. No way, there has to be hundreds with the same perfume, right? I couldn’t, or rather didn’t want to believe it. Was it really him under this mask? I wish I could give myself an answer but I was terrified of what I would find if I looked. I was both mad yet relieved that I didn’t look too closely at his face during dinner or else it might be too easy to pick apart his features. The mask only hid so much. I must’ve been eyeing him for too long because Robin gave me a questioning look.
“I -“ I quickly put a slight distance between us and cleared my throat, hoping the heat on my cheeks would cool down, and my head to stop spinning. “Sorry, and thank you! I... probably should get back.” I finished lamely.
The time it took us to get from where we were to the hotel was filled with silence. I made sure not to make eye contact for too long and when I had to I made sure to ignore everything else. I still wasn’t sure if I wanted to piece the puzzle together... It felt risky. I thanked him again, and asked him to thank Superboy.
Sneaking back into my room was a lot more difficult that sneaking out. Thankfully my roommate and I had separate keys so going in was a breeze. She was already asleep when I got there much to my relief. I headed straight to the shower, eager to scrub off the mans filthy hold on me. I grimaced as I caught my reflection in the mirror, my skin was bright red from all the scrubbing and my eyes were puffy. I sniffed and looked away.
I didn’t sleep that night, not well anyway, but that was to be expected.

Meeting The Bat
Being with Bruce was a dream, honestly he was the best boyfriend you could ask for however there was something that was beginning to bother you. He was protective. Well not just him even his sons were protective of you, in a sense it was sweet? he wanted to know where you'd be at all times what time you'd be back and never felt truly comfortable unless you was staying at the manor. He wasn't to pleased when you and jack made the move back to your apartment after the press had all settled down used to you both being a couple, luckily superman had popped up in Gotham taking the spotlight away from you both which you was grateful for and would probably kiss the man for it if you ever met him. Bruce insisted that you should stay with him a few more days which you knew would become weeks and then months.
You'd declined stating you were going home it was too early to move in permanently plus you were still paying rent and was still under lease. You all but ripped his head off when he offered to pay your rent for you, you will not become financially Dependent on Bruce no matter how much he'd enjoy it, which was your latest discovery he loved taking care of you in every sense, he had stolen the phone from you when you was having a problem with your energy company who had been over charging you and was refusing to pay back anything... needless to say your cheque had arrived three days ago and he had taken all of your bills off of you and made sure you was on the best deal, you suspected he actually gave them to Alfred to sort out but there was no arguing with him, his excuse was that it was his job to look after you in the end it was easier to just let him get on with it. Tho this latest overprotective bullshit was a curfew Bruce had decided that if he let you go home it was on the condition that you had a curfew... A FUCKING CURFEW!! he said it was for your own good. You didn't live in the best part of Gotham but there was many worse places, it had really got to you in all honesty more so because it had caused your first real argument. He was adamant that you shouldn't leave your home after dark that anything could happen and he couldn't loose you, for you it was the principle that just because you were together didn't mean you had to obey him....
That wasn't even in wedding vows any more for christ sake. You felt a little bad afterwards when Bruce through his hands up stalking off into the manor claiming he needed a drink, Alfred had saved the day managing to explain where all the anger came from he had lost everything once before and didn't want it to happen again Bruce was frightened of loosing you, not only that but you could be a target now that people knew who you was. You forget what he has been through, he had first hand knowledge of how quickly life could change his greatest fear is loosing what he loves. Safe to say you felt like a bitch for screaming back at him but you crept up to his study finding him distraught head in his hands you'd pulled him close kissing his head promising that you wasnt going any wear and you'd agreed to his request not to leave the house after dark and if you did you would tell him exactly where you would be and check in with him aswell as let him know when youd be home.
That was the first night you could honestly say you'd made love and not just had sex, it was slow and full of feeling he had admitted that he half expected you to leave him which you'd laughed off quickly afterwards you both felt stronger you know had a true understanding of just how much you meant to each other.
Tonight was one of those nights, you was invited out to dinner a celebration for Tom and his girlfriend now fiance's engagement. Bruce had been invited but was busy... tho your not sure what with considering it was booked for 8.30pm but you just let it go, it was a small casual dinner for people at the cafe, well it had been intended to be a small and casual dinner but Bruce insisted that they should celebrate properly and had offered up one of his swanky places for the event free of charge,he was adamant that it was also an apology for not being able to make it.
Tom and Lilly never thought they'd get a chance to eat there so had agreed. so here you was in a fancy restaurant toasting the couple with some imported champagne that Bruce had ordered in for the event that tasted like some strange weak grape piss. You grimaced and bared with it for the toasts then placed it down before quickly swigging your Lambrusco red swishing it a little to get rid of the taste. The dinner was going well everyone was happily enjoying the open bar awing over Lilly's new ring that was stunning and excitedly chatting about wedding ideas.
As the night winded down everyone was ready to leave. As you gathered your things you got a bad feeling, the hairs on the back of your neck stood on end. Something just wasn't right, then before anyone could make a move Five men stormed into the main seating area covered in military grade black armor faces covered with plastic looking masks and goggles waving guns around threatening you all to get to the floor which you all did people screamed as the man kept screaming orders kicking and shoving, two of them began walking the tables taking jewelry and snatching wallets that people held out trying to apease them. You looked across at Lilly who was twisting her ring panicked.
"Lilly now!" you held out a hand she hesitated until you snapped your fingers at her, she handed it to you and you quickly stuffed it down your dress hiding it in your spanxs bodysuit she looked at you thankfully as you did realizing that you was going to try and conceal it for her.
"Psst Lilly give me that!" she looked at you wide eyed shaking her head you groaned as her whispering again
"Well well who have we got here? looks like we have a bit of luck tonight boys" you cringed as you was dragged to stand in front of him. Your heart was erratic trying to jump out of your chest you took shakey breathes trying to calm down you felt like you were going to have a heart attack with how fast it was.
"Well fuck me it is! oi! leave the rest we got all we need here" the man who had ahold of you said you assumed was the leader as he was the one who had been barking orders since he came in, one of the men who was collecting replied confused
"What do you mean? Who is this bitch?"
"You mean who's is this bitch? Its Wayne's bunny boiler. How much you think she charges for a round" he said cupping your ass pulling you towards him you  dug your heel into his foot and spat in his face then head butted him for good measure, he jumped back holding his nose sniffling you used the chance to try and run being grabbed from behind by the other male the leader growled straightening and backhanded you snapping your face to the side.
"You said she was wayne's!!! nothing to do with HIM!!"
"I wonder just how much he'd pay to have you back?" you cried out hissing as he cupped your jaw as it throbbed squeezing feeling the sting of your now split lip you moved making to strike him again, he grunted dodging then pulled back hitting you with the butt of his gun you screamed nearly collapsing vision going fuzzy at how hard you'd been hit, your captor let go only for you to be held up with a fist in your hair by the leader in front of you, you grabbed his hand clawing at it trying to get him off, they used your daze to escape dragging you from the restaurant, keeping everyone else at bay with guns aiming at them as they made it through the doors.you tired digging your heals in trying to stop them from taking you so easily but your feet dragged as more hands grabbed and tugged you trying to bundle you into the back of an all black suv.
You kicked screaming lashing out and twisting the one by your head got fed up grunting he spun around holding you in a choke hold and heaved you backwards into the car you screamed again louder then you ever had before you looked up crying out. You was silenced with one swift punch in the side of your head again knocking you out. You came to as you felt yourself being jerked around you groaned as the car you was in swerved violently to the right making you thump your head on the inside of the door, you hissed and groaned trying to blink away your confusion your head throbbed, everything was too much you couldnt make sense of where you was or what was going on, you bent to the side hanging your head off of the seat to the foot well heaving you felt like you was going to be sick. The men were shouting at one another panicked screaming filled the car as they was pointing the blame to one another.
"SHE IS WAYNE’S! FUCK SAKE JUST KEEP DRIVING, HE'S RIGHT BEHIND US GOGOGO!!" you cringed as the shouting continued hurting your head, so was the passing lights out side of the car, you closed your eyes trying to block out the noise snapping them open as you went sliding across the seat again as the car skidded around another corner, you covered your mouth trying to stop the bile from escaping as your stomach lurched again.
"Well he isn't shooting so maybe we can use her as a hostage" you hissed as your head moved to fast, trying to block out the shouting men who had forgotten you was there
"NO! if he sees her he will find a way to grab her.... this is the bat were talking about not some fucking cop!"
'bat? what are they talking about?' you thought still not thinking straight holding your head trying to stop it moving you noticed it was wet you pulled your hand back seeing blood had matted in your hair you panicked looking around seeing everyone hysterical. Then you moved slow looking out of the back window. you frowned
'what the fuck?' you winced as the car took another turn quickly gripping the back of the seat to stay still watching as the batmobile followed effortlessly. Then you heard it a loud crack in from above, everyone held their breath for a second.
"WHAT THE FUCK IS HE DOING HERE? WHO IS THIS BITCH? GO FASTER! GO! GO! GO!" one screamed rocking forward willing the car to go faster as the driver floored it pushing the car faster.
"How does she know these guys?" another cried crawling across the seats in the car looking desperately threw the windows trying to locate who you assumed was superman considering there was only one man in the sky
"WE CANT OUT RUN HIM NO FUCKING WAY! DUMP HER!!"
"NO SHES OUR PAY DAY!""BOSS? WHAT DO WE DO?"
"...we have no choice.. DUMP HER SHE WILL GO UNDER THE BAT, SUPERMAN WILL INTERVENE WE COULD MAKE A RUN FOR IT!, OI TAKE THAT ALLEY THERE CHUCK HER OUT AIM FOR THE BATMOBILE!!" you panicked as the car turned again a small alley that the batmobile would just squeeze through.
"NO BOSS SHES OUR ONLY GUARANTEE WERE NOT GONNA BE SHOT AT!" you screamed loud as one of the men grabbed you pushing you against the door fiddling for the handle.
"NO NO PLEASE DON'T!" you screamed trying to fight against him.
"fuck this shes not worth it , drop the dead weight" the panicking man quickly lent over you opening the door
"NONONO SHES THE ONLY REASON HE'S NOT SHOOTING!!" it was to late you felt the door give behind you and he pushed you out quickly  you screamed as you fell from the car as it raced down the alley you grunted striking the tarmac winded as your back took the impact hard tearing the skin then bounced ragdolling over the concrete the last thing you remember was seeing glimpses of the stars and the screech of tires as the batmobile came hurtling towards you crying out and closing your eyes a loud crash was herd before nothing...
When you came to you groaned you was being held firm against a chest hushed voices spoke the first was behind you, you coud tell as they spoke it vibrated through you.
"Did you get them?"
"Yes they are at Gotham station... they wasn't targeting her specifically it was a last minute decision" you frowned a little recgonizing the voices
"Thank you, for coming if you hadn't then I'd have" the voice trailed off you felt the person behind you shake.
"Don't... don't do that to yourself, shes here and she'll live I'm sorry I didn't get there sooner"
"Is she ok?"
"Yes hearts a little fast but it always is....Get it checked out apart from that cuts and bruises mostly nothing broken but her ribs are cracked on the back, she's lucky she tucked her arms in and rolled, at that type of speed she could have done some real damage....Any way I'm needed elsewhere let me know how she gets on, call me if you need me I mean it Bruce"
'Bruce wha Where was Bruce?' your thoughts were interrupted as they continued talking
"I will thank you again I mean it.... I owe you" there was a small gust then you winced feeling something dabb against your head you hissed  trying to move away from the stinging
"No no stay still I’m not finished yet" you felt a small stinging tug on your head wound
"They will hold now and I will check them each day" your eyes tried to flutter open when you heard a hum of acknowledgment  from the person you was sitting on, opening your eyes slowly you looked straight at someone you thought you'd never see again.
"Al-Alfred?" you tried looking round then hissed as you moved your head bringing your hands up to it.
"I’m gonna be sick-" quickly a small metal Bin was pulled up from behind you and held under your head as you heaved into it you cried out moaning as the action pulled on your back, you felt the person you were sitting on slowly ruffle your hair at the base of your skull, you moaned resting your head on the bin closing your eyes.
"Miss Cooke? Y/n are you okay? is it just your head and back thats sore? nowhere else?" you looked down noticing you was in a mans tshirt and sweat pants then looked up slowly
"I- yeah what happened where are we? Who changed me?" you said looking around squinting at the bright lights that seemed to reflect of off what seemed like miles of glass. Alfred sighed packing up
"You don't remember? what was the last thing you remember?" you man behind you held his breath
"Concrete... and headlights a car? but-no it- bat-they were screaming about Batman" you closed your eye trying to remeber what had happened
"I don't- they argued and decided to throw me under the Batmobile.... that must have been the headlights, how? wh-whats going on?! I should be dead!" you panicked a little unsure of what had happened, Alfred took the Bin from your lap setting it on the floor and crouch in front of you holding your hands
"Shh its okay now your safe, everything's going to be fine I promise" he rubbed your hand a little then nodded over you before standing up taking the bin with him.
"I will give you two a minute" he said before making his way through a glass door and up some stairs. you frowned turning slowly trying not to hurt your aching head.
"Bruce? oh god!" you quickly latched onto him, he hugged you back tight tucking your head in his chest breathing you in kissing your head as you let go sobbing into him shaking as each sob wracked your body the anxiety and stress catching up to you, he moved you to straddle his thighs rocking with you slowly trying to calm you down.
"Shh its okay sweets, I've got you ,Ive got you babe your okay shh...Your okay love, I love you" he held you tight almost crushing you to his chest you hissed as he put a little to much pressure on your wounds pressing your head into the hard plastic shirt? you pulled back looking at him then focused your eyes on his chest. your eyes widened. No it couldn't, He couldn't be.
"what? what is-Bruce?" you questioned sniffling wiping the tears away to see clearer running your fingers across your lovers chest staring at the bat spread across it, your eyes searched his for answers. He looked guilty you hand kept running over the suits chest tracing and retracing the symbol, trying to let it sink in
"Y-you? Your batman?Bruce?" he nodded slightly casting a glance to his mask that was placed on the table beside you both your hand stopped moving as you saw the mask.
"Thats-this is why you disappear from bed at night? why you were so worried about me being out at night? and the reason you couldn't come to the dinner tonight? Because your out-" you waved a hand around
"Patrolling..yes" you took a deep breath cupping his face running your thumb across his jaw, he moved nuzzling into your hand just happy that you was alive here with him, part of him was worried that you would walk away being a billionaire was one thing but this might be your limit.
"Okay then" he gaped at you
"What?"
"It's okay Your batman that's okay we can work with this, what did you expect me to do?"
"Your not going to scream at me for lying,or tell me to stop...leave me?!" you looked at hims confused unable to tell if he was angry or worried. you shook your head at him.
"No, I can understand why you wouldn't have told me and I wont ask you to stop you save people I could never ask you to stop doing that, I wont leave you. I love you Bruce and this is a part of you, will I be worried when you leave at night? sure but its nothing I cant handle. I'm not going anywhere" he smiled bright going to hug you again
"ah! Babe-no that's hard and I ache" he stopped as you motioned to the suit standing up placing you on your feet you watched him curious then slowly reached out touching his cape letting your fingers glide across it a little then quickly pulled back blushing when he chuckled at you.
"What sweets?" you shrugged mouth going dry when you really looked at him and realized that he seemed much bigger and intimidating in his suit you flushed a little he cocked an eyebrow at you tilting his head.
"Nothing" you said slowly picking up his mask from the table running your fingers across it.
"No come on I haven't seen you go like this since you saw me in a tux"
"...I think I just started my list is all" you said letting your fingers skim his abdomen again he through his head back laughing then took his mask from you he took a step forward his voice deepening
"oh you like my suit do you? well i will definatly remember that" he said leaning down kissing you deep holding the back of your neck tilting your head a little to gain better access he quickly spun pressing you against the table beside you both you wince pulling away holding onto him with one hand the other going to your head.
"Shit I forgot are you okay?" you sighed
"Yes just a little fuzzy...dizzy and it hurts" he sighed calling for Alfred who seemed to pop up out of thin air
"Yes sir"
"Can you take her upstairs and help her head she needs some painkillers I will be up shortly" the butler nodded escorting you out of the bat cave once in the house he sat you on the sofa in front of a large TV showing the news he left for the kitchen.
"where are we Alfred?" he quickly got a glass of water and painkillers coming back toward you watching you look around the room glass on three sides with a room slap bang in the middle everything centered around it.
"This is one of Bruce's houses the glass lake house, not that you can see in now its to late. He thought we should bring you here instead of the main manor in case you didn't react well to his nightly ventures shall we say? I assume by the fact that you almost found your self ravaged in the cave that there isn't any problems between the two of you?" you blushed a little taking the pills he offered you.
"No Alfred there isn't I understand why he wouldn't have told me... and I suppose the boys are well you know?"Alfred's eyes widened not prepared for that before clearing his throat he nodded, there was no point in lying to you now he couldn't insult you like that.
"I'm proud of him even more now if that's possible.... besides a little secret between us I always though batman was hot" you giggled a little he chuckled sitting beside you
"Yes well lets not let him here that, we wouldn't want his head to get any bigger than it already is"
"Yes he wouldn't get his mask to fit" you leaned back into the seat a little you frowned as grainy footage was being played
"I-is that- Alfred is that what happened? is that me?" he looked at the screen seeing the nights events.
"Yes I’m afraid so, you was lucky Bruce called Superman to help he would have never forgiven himself if he had hit you" you watched as the footage was slowed down seeing you rolling from the car as the Batmobile skidded and swerved a little as it tried to stop then faster then you could blink superman was just there in front of you stopping the Batmobile in its tracks looking at you he nodding saying something to the Batmobile then shot off again as Bruce climbed out cradling you to him placing you in the back before taking off again. You heaved a sigh looking at Bruce who had just entered catching the last few seconds on the TV as the reporter then started explaining that the criminal's had been delivered to the police station by superman and no one knew who the victim was or where she had been taken.
"So that he was the other person." both males looked at you
"Downstairs I heard two voices, I suppose it was Superman?" Bruce nodded
"He saved your life, he also said your ribs are cracked and your heart was fast other then that no serious injuries" you nodded hoping the others were okay.
"Shit! Ring! who changed me? where is it? a ring there was a ring in my spanx?!" Alfred smile pulling it out of his breast pocket
"Would this be it?" you relaxed
"Yes, Its Lilly's engagement ring they were stealing jewelry so I hid it for her" Bruce sat down beside you one arm across the back of the sofa leaning close against you.
"You stuffed it in your spanx?" he asked with a laugh you blushed
"Well I didn't have pockets?! most dresses don't have any! I mean where else was I meant to put up my ass?!" you said defending yourself shaking your head.
"Men!"
"You can text tom on my phone here" he said giving it you, you quickly typed in a message reading it out to Bruce so he knew your cover story, that batman had recognized you and took you to Wayne manor on your request and that you was okay minor scraps and bruises but would take a few days off and also that you still had the ring. Bruce nodded pulling you to lean on him just needing to touch you after being so close to loosening you it got him thinking again
"Sweets?"
"Yeah?"
"Move in with me" you leaned back from him a little placing a hand on his leg
"What?" he faced you
"I'm serious, I want you and Jack to move in with me theres nowhere safer, you know now and you haven't walked away. Your the only one for me and I don't see the point of us living apart anymore, eventually your going to move in so why wait? I love you one day I'm gonna marry you but for now move in." you gaped at him shocked at the sincerity in his voice your face softened you rubbed along his leg, It did make sense now that you knew who he was, that must have counted for something you felt your heart swell as he mentioned marriage but you wont let yourself get to excited yet but you would give this a go, you practically live there anyway.
"Fine I see your point, but I will help around the place and i want to help towards the bills" he leaned down kissing you softly
"Great you can move in this weekend Alfred do you still have the movers number?
""Yes sir i will call them tomorrow morning - well later today for you" Bruce smile thanking him
"Bruce didn't you hear me I want to help with the bills" he ignored you
"I'm sorry what? No I just heard you say you'll move in nothing after that." he winked you sighed
"I said I’m helping!"
"Alfred did you hear that? I swore I heard something but I'm not quite sure?"
"Could have been the wind sir"
"ALFRED?! not you to?" he smirked at Bruce who laughed loud
"Hey you can have one of the studies, making into your own private little reading room or art studio"
"The one on the west wing would do sir it has good light and beautiful view over the grounds and a large fireplace
""Thank you Alfred, as soon as your moved in you can decorate it however you like" you deadpanned at him
"your not going to let me help out at all are you?" he shook his head at you making you sigh Alfred on the other hand was ecstatic to have a lady in the house it had been to long since there was a feminine touch to the manor.  "Finally someone sensible in the house!" you giggled at Alfred's giddy expression before he cleared his throat
"Well- excuse me now you should relax you cant sleep after hitting your head so many times so I suggest watching some tv, I'm going to go get some sleep, If you do decide to entertain one another please bare in mind that the walls are all glass... for Y/n sake more than yours sir." you blushed as Bruce waved him off as he left. once alone you both became quiet it was Bruce who broke the silence
"I'm sorry"
"What? What are you sorry for?"
"I wasn't fast enough, I couldn't get there in time. I heard your screams, didn't know it was you but when I got to the restaurant your friends they were screaming at the police that it was you. My heart stopped thats why I called in Superman I couldn't risk you, not for a second and in the end it was me who nearly killed you."
"You didn't throw me from that car Bruce love come on it was you who saved me love, like you said you didn't want any risk so called in back up, and it was the back up you called in who stopped the car-" he gave an indignant look
"Batmobile what ever point is he wouldn't have been there if you hadn't called him its over anyway and as of the weekend I will be safe and sound in the manor waiting for you and the boys to come home every night."he gasped at you going to argue over the boys you placed a finger to his lips
"I already worked it out Alfred had the decency not to lie to me when I asked and I hope you do to, I love you don't dwell on all the could have's okay?" he smiled nodding you snuggled into him more wincing a bit then began surfing through the channels hunkering down for the remainder of the night.

Hey darling, do you think you could do a DamiJon one shot with the sentence starter "Are we on a date right now?" Where Damian is very oblivious to his and Jon's feelings and doesn't understand crushes/love much to Jon's frustration?
Sorry This took so long! It doesn’t exactly match up with the last pat of the prompt, but here you go!
It was a sunny day, as was the usual for the bright and busy city of Metropolis, and Damian swore he was the only one for miles who was not enjoying the lack of cloud cover and gloomy weather. Everyone they passed by on the streets wore blinding smiles and talked with too much enthusiasm for a Monday afternoon. People waved at strangers and stopped for street performers, and in general acted as the Utopian image of city life.
Damian almost found himself missing the dark and very real streets of Gotham. Almost.
Of course,  that didn’t mean he wasn’t enjoying the day so far.
At that particular moment, he was walking down a sidewalk with a certain Kryptonian boy who was laughing far too hard for someone who hadn’t been told a joke.
“The acting was unrealistic, the CGI was terrible and the props and costumes were the work of anmitures,” Damian persisted, still hung up on the awful movie they had gotten out of half an hour before. It had been the newest installment in the Sunrise series, and it was so bad Damian would have been at a loss for words if he were forced to watch just five more minutes.
He had only gone to see it in the first place because Jon had loved the first movie and he, Raven and Todd had all loved the books. If the books were anything like the movie had been, Damian would have to have a serious talk with his friends and brother about their taste in media.
“Stop laughing, I’m serious,” Damian huffed, but despite his annoyance he was fighting a smile of his own.
“It’s good bad,” Jon said through his laughter, wiping tears from his eyes and clutching his side.
“That wasn’t ‘good bad’ it was a disgrace to all of cinema!” Damian scoffed. “I knew you were tasteless, but I had no clue it was this atrocious.”
“You just aren’t getting it because you’re taking it too seriously,” Jon insisted. “If you stop looking at it as an actual romance and look at it from a comedic angle, it’s the best thing ever.”
“The protagonist was bland, her love interests behaviors were unrealistic, and the message of the story is disgusting,” Damian continued to list off the movie’s flaws.
“Damian, stop for one second,” Jon said, finally freed of his laughter. “Remember, we aren’t the intended audience. The intended audience is teenage girls. It wasn’t meant for a message, it was meant for escapism and wish fulfillment for its intended audience. When you keep that in mind, it’s an absolute masterpiece.”
“Tt, whatever you say farm boy,” Damian rolled his eyes. He checked his watch while Jon laughed a little more. “We still have three hours before we have to meet Drake and the Clone.”
“Perfect,” Jon bounced. “That means we have time to stop by the arcade, sweets shop and my favorite cafe!”
“If you insist,” Damian sighed.
“Don’t be like that, I’ve had this day planned for weeks!” Jon whined, tugging on his arm. “I even did extra chores this week so we would have enough money.
“You could have just asked me to bring my wallet,” Damian said.
“Nu-uh, there is no way I’m letting you pay for our first outing together,” Jon shook his head.
“This isn’t our first-” Damian was quickly cut off as Jon pulled him into the arcade, his super speed and strength slipping ever so slightly so that he had to rub his arm and catch his breath afterwards. By the time he regained his balance, Jon had rushed over to the coin machine and was feeding in a twenty he had earned from mowing the lawn and washing the dishes.
When he came back, he took Damian’s hand and dumped about half of the coins into it with a grin. He had been practically glowing ever since they had met up that morning, an effect that Damian could easily write off as being due to the shining sun and not his presence, as Drake had insisted. Even inside the arcade, shaded and away from the sun, the fifteen year old was still shining brighter than any of the neon lights around them.
Damian just shook his head but relented as Jon dragged him around the arcade, showing off his gaming skills and earning tickets. Damian was decent at most of the games, but was too unused to the mode of gaming compared to the consuls he played on with his family to truly be any good. He would never admit that out loud of course. It would go right to Jon’s head he was sure.
Damian had run out of coins and only had a fistful of tickets by the time Jon was down to his last two had had a plastic bag filled.
For his last game, Jon took Damian by the hand and pulled him towards an arm wrestling game that reached to the ceiling with a bell at the top. Damian had seen such a game in a cheesy movie Brown had shown him and the rest of the family. After asking his father more about the game, he was informed that, as many carnival games were, it was completely rigged and impossible to win.
“Those don’t actually work you know,” Damian said, leaning against the machine with an unimpressed raise to his brow. “Even for your strength it won't budge.”
“Want to bet?” Jon asked, his grin growing wider, a far cry from the shy and timid Jon Kent and much closer to the Superboy he knew from their late night escapades.
Damian snorted but gave a single nod. A simple dip of his chin, never breaking eye contact.
“All of the loser’s tickets to the winner?” Jon asked.
“Whatever you say,” Damian agreed.
Jon rolled up his sleeves and, gaze still on Damian, took hold of the fake hand and started the simulated arm wrestling contest.
Damian actually gave a jump when he felt something rush past him inside the machine and hit the bell at the top with an almost deafening ding ding ding!
While he stared wide eyed up at the bell, Jon cheered and collected the tickets spilling out from the machine into his plastic bag. When Damian turned back to him, still slightly in shock, Jon was holding out his hand expectantly with a self satisfied smirk.
“The machine must be broken,” Damian said as he handed them over.
“Whatever you say,” Jon teased. After taking the tickets, he took Damian’s hand again and went up to the prize counter to feed the tickets into a machine to get a receipt. He handed off said recit to a tired looking teenager, only a year or so older than Damian, bouncing on his heels.
“Could I have that bear?” he asked, pointing up to the ceiling. Damian followed his finger’s direction and found a large bear that was at least five feet tall hanging from the ceiling. It had a superman symbol on it’s chest in the shape of a heart, which was more than enough to make Damian roll his eyes. It was very much something the young Kent would waste his tickets on as a gag with his family.
The teenager behind the counter smiled through their clear as day lack of sleep and scanned both the recibt and the little sign that announced the bear’s price. He had to pull over a ladder and get a long hooked pole to unloop the bear from where it was hung up, and struggled with handing it to Jon over the counter.
As soon as the bear was in his arms, though, Jon immediately pushed it to Damian’s chest. He struggled at first, with the bear being as big as himself, but managed to get a good hold on it and look around it to furrow his brows in question.
“I won it for you,” Jon said like it was obvious. “If you need me to carry it it can.”
“I am perfectly fine carrying the monstrosity on my own,” Damian said. “You couldn’t have chosen a more impractical gift?”
“It's not an impractical gift,” Jon said. “It’s cute.”
“Can it not be both?” Damian asked, but relented in following Jon out of the arcade the fastest he could with the monstrous stuffed animal in his arms.
“Sweets shop or cafe next?” Jon said allowed, though it was clear he was asking himself.
“We only have time left for one of the two,” Damian said after checking his watch again.
“Cafe it is then!” Jon said. He guided Damian back down the Metropolis sidewalk, pointing out different stores and vendors along the way as he told stories about them. Damian only heard half of the stories, his sight too focused on Jon’s lit up and expressive face for any of his other senses to properly function.
Halfway through a story about a noodle store he liked to visit with his older brother, Jon noticed Damian’s staring. He ducked his head, his cheeks flaring bright red, and Damian couldn’t help but give the smallest of smiles at the reaction.
The rest of the walk to the cafe, Jon’s voice was back to its usual shy softness as he chatted on about the city he so clearly loved. Damian didn’t stop his staring, but did end up lost in his own thoughts about the past years’ events.
He could still very clearly remember the day when he was thirteen and his father had carefully sat him down in his study for a talk. During that talk, he was told of one of the most disturbing things yet to happen in his life, which was saying something considering his childhood.
Through dimension hopping events that Damian never bothered to understand, Jon had gone from ten years old to seventeen overnight. He was different now that he was so much older, and Damian found a hole grow in his chest from the loss of his closest friend.
The event was possibly the thing that finally cemented his bond with Drake, and they had both lost their kryptonian friends under circumstances completely out of their control. The only problem Damian saw with the bonding they had done was that Drake had gotten Conner back. Not only had he gotten him back, but the two had started dating not too long after his return, which brought Damian an odd sense of jealousy he had never been able to understand.
After a year of consideration between himself and his parents, Jon had gone to Zatanna for help in reversing his physical age. The magician had agreed, but had only been half successful in her daunting task. The next time Damian saw Jon, he was only a year younger than him, still with his ever present height advantage, now coupled with his mental age.
Damian was still ashamed when he remembered his initial reaction of slamming the door in Jon’s face. He had refused to speak to the Kryptonian for months on end, so unsure of how to feel about the entire situation he had found himself in. He had gotten his friends back, but he wasn’t sure if he was still really his friend.
He still wished that his family could have stopped being so damn unconditionally supportive for one moment and knocked some sense into him so he could have accepted Jon’s returned presence in his life earlier than he actually had.
It had been a year since the two had fully reunited, apologies coming from both ends despite Damian’s admit denial that Jon had anything to apologize for. He was big enough to admit he had been the one fully in the wrong even though everyone repeatedly told him his reaction was perfectly reasonable for a fourteen year old presented with such a stressful situation. Even at sixteen, he couldn’t understand Jon’s easy forgiveness of his behavior.
“Dami?” Jon pulled him from his thoughts gently, cheeks faded to a much softer pink, but the blush still clearly present.
“I’m okay,” Damian nodded, ignoring the clear pull in his chest. Jon had been so gentle with him the past year no matter how much they had both moved on, and it was enough to drive him crazy “You were saying?”
“We’re here,” Jon smiled, nodding to the cafe now in front of them.
Damian gave a small smile in return and followed Jon to the outdoor table he claimed to be his favorite. While Jon placed their orders at the front, Damian set the super bear up in one of the seats at the table. He pulled out his phone while he waited, finding texts from Grayson, Todd and Brown all asking him a variation of ‘how’s the date going?’
Damian responded to all the texts from his prying siblings with ‘it’s not a date’ and put his phone away again to look around at the others sitting outside of the cafe.
There were a few younger high school and older middle school students hanging around the tables and benches outside the cafe, enjoying the nice weather and food Jon had claimed to be some of the best in metropolis (“Besides that one time Conner brought me with him to a custody required dinner with Lex a few years ago. That was the best,” he remembered the teen chatting on the walk there). Damian realized Jon had probably learned about the cafe from friends he knew from school.
As he looked around, though, he noticed more and more that the other teens around him were all there in pairs. Sipping on milkshakes and coffees together while they ate a split pastry. Some were holding hands over or under the table, or kissing on benches or leaned against the cafe’s garden walls. Subconsciously he found himself beginning to go into panic, because this was clearly not a place a normal friend from school would take Jon.
He didn’t understand why he was panicking at the notion of the boy having a boyfriend or girlfriend, or having gone on dates before. He was mentally aged to nineteen, even if he was currently dwelling in the body of a fifteen year old.
Maybe it was because sitting among these couples brought out something in him that had nothing to do with Jon. At least, he was pretty sure it had nothing to do with Jon.
He had never felt threatened or out of place when at events that had many couples, his age, younger and older, all gathered and acting as couples. He knew the divorce, widowing and murder rates in Gotham meant that very few couples actually lasted for life. Even around his family he never found himself upset because he was too happy for their pairings. His father and Selina had made a great match despite his earlier doubts, Grayson and West were married with kids of their own, Todd and Harper as dysfunctional as they were still held Damian’s vote as the best fit couple in the family, and Drake and Jon’s cloned older brother were engaged to be wed in the spring.
But these couples were affecting him in such a way that he started to squeeze his stuffed bear’s paw under the table.
What’s wrong with Gotham? He thought, rerunning every statistic and horror story of love he knew from the city. The thought quickly morphed into What’s wrong with me?
It had been a long time since he asked that question, two years to be exact, and it was quickly waved away back to his first question. It had taken years of extensive therapy ordered by Alfred and plenty of love and care from his family, colleagues and friends to help him accept there wasn’t anything wrong with him. He was raised in harsh circumstances that his mother had gotten him out of and to his father the soonest she could. He had built walls and defences, and he knew now at a more mature age that they were all just for show and were unneeded now.
He looked around at the couples again and forced his heart not to harden in the presence. It was beautiful what youth and a good city could do to grow love, and he would be damned if he let a coping mechanism from his childhood make him view it as any less.
“Sorry I took so long,” Jon’s laugh caught his attention and he gave a soft smile up at his friend.
“Not at all.”
Jon took his seat across from him and sat down the tall pink and white milkshake between them as well as a napkin with two cookies on it. Just with a glance Damian could tell Jon had gotten him a dark chocolate variety, and couldn’t help but let his smile grow.
His attention on the cookies of course made him belatedly notice that the milkshake was singular and had two straws sticking up from the top.
“I wasn’t sure what flavor you wanted,” Jon admitted while Damian’s gaze whipped around them, knowing there must be a mistake. Instead of an explanation, Damian’s eyes locked onto a few couples who had a drink or milkshake set up the same way. One drink, two straws, with them drinking from them happily as they stared into each other’s eyes.
“It’s strawberry and cream,” Jon said, drawing his attention again. The teen across from him was nervously adjusting his glasses and pushing back his dark curls, looking anywhere but Damian. Damian noticed the faint blush dusting his cheeks and smiled, before his entire face went red at realization that he had just smiled at his friend blushing.
His brothers’ and Brown’s texts suddenly came back to mind, along with a few romcoms they had watched together and his own observations of his family and their significant others. The movie with a shared bucket of popcorn, the holding hands, the bear purchased and given after winning an arcade game, and now the obviously romantic cafe with a two straw milkshake and a blush.
“Are we on a date right now?” Damian blurted, eyebrow furrowed but eyes wide.
Jon’s head snapped up so quick Damian had barely seen it, compliments of super speed, his eyes equally as wide, “I thought we were, but your expression is telling a totally different story. You don’t have any kryptonite batarangs on you right now, right?”
“Why would I-” Damian shook his head, “We’re on a date no one had the decency to tell me?”
Well, technically Grayson, Todd and Brown had told him, but that wasn’t important. What was important was how shrill his voice was to his own ears, and the sympathetic glances a few couples were giving him.
“I asked Tim to ask you if you go on a date with me since my phone broke,” Jon was babbling now, hands flying around as he tried to explain. “I thought when he told Conner that you said yes you were saying yes to the date!”
A set up, Damian realized. Drake had fully intended for this mess to happen just to spite him. The man was lucky Damian now accepted he loved him, or he would never live to see his spring wedding.
“I need a second,” Damian said, resting his head in his hands. His face felt hot under his fingers, and he feared to imagine just how red it had become. A lifetime of training was all falling apart all because he had spent an entire date with a cute boy completely in the dark to the fact that it was a date.
Wait. Cute boy?
Did he think Jon was cute? Jon was cute, he had always known that, but did he really think he was cute in the way that Drake found the clone cute?
He had been jealous when Tim got the clone back but he lost Jon. That meant something, he had always known that, but he had never really looked into it. If he thought Jon was cute in that way, it explained the jealousy. The feeling of emptiness the half kryptonian boy’s absence had left him with. The reaction of honest to god fear when Jon came back in a way that was definitely socially unacceptable for him to be with.
Jon is cute. I like Jon. Jon likes me…
“Dami?” Jon said quietly, nervously. No, it was more than nerves now, he was afraid. He was afraid in the same way Damian had seen him in his older form. Rejection and heartbreak surly making the taste in his mouth bitter as apologies he didn't need to say weighed on his tongue.
“We’re on a date,” Damian finally said, peeking up from behind his finger. He said it as the statement it was and not the question from before.
“If you want to be,” Jon nodded, some of the fear falling away.
Damian took his hands away from his face but kept his eyes on the milkshake instead of Jon’s face. It was already starting to melt and turn sluggish in its tall cup.
“I want to be,” he said, a soft smile falling on his lips.
“Thank goodness, because I don’t know what I would tell Mom if I went home single,” Jon sighed in relief, then stopped. “That does mean you want to be my boyfriend, right?”
“I want to be your boyfriend,” Damian affirmed, smile growing wider. There was something fuzzy and warm and safe growing in his chest. It reminded him of Jon, as silly as it was considering Jon was the one who put it there.
“Thank goodness,” Jon repeated, letting his head fall on the table. “I think that was the most stressful thing I’ve ever done.”
“Jon, you’ve fought gods.”
“That was a hundred times easier than this was.”
“The milkshake is melting.”
Jon bounced up at that and quickly leaned forward to start gulping the sugary drink from his straw. Damian shook his head with a smaller smile and leaned forward as well.
His face lit up in heat once again when their noses brushed and Damian realized just how close there were, but he didn’t pull back. The milkshake was good, but it had nothing on the bashful and overwhelmingly happy look in Jon’s eyes. Damian was sure it was a look he could get drunk off of if he tried.
“We should probably get going,” Jon said with heavy remorse after they finished the milkshake.
“Probably,” Damian agreed, checking his watch. He wished he had the ability to make time stop, just for a second. He had just found out this was a date, and it was already ending. He would have to use the walk back to Drake and the clone to make up for that lost time.
As they walked down the sidewalk they finished their cookies and stared ahead at the near setting sun. When they were both finished, Damian took Jon’s hand and intertwined their fingers without looking towards him.
“Our next date you should take me to that sweets shop you’ve been talking about,” Damian said with a smile teasing his lips. He glanced from the corner of his eye just in time to catch Jon smiling a close lipped but wide smile. Domain was sure he would never get over how shy Jon could get in his civilian persona.
“I will,” Jon promised.
They reached the fountain they were meeting their brothers much too soon for Damian’s liking. Drake and clone spoted them right away, surly partially due to the oversized stuffed bear Damian was hulling along, and smiled upon spotting their intertwined fingers.
“I see the date went well,” Drake said with a devilish grin.
“No thanks to you,” Damian glared.
“He was just having a little fun,” the older Kent boy waved off Damian’s anger. “You figured it out before it ended at least.”
“Barely,” Damian rolled his eyes.
“But we still had fun,” Jon interjected. “Thank you for bringing Damian with you. It was a good first date.”
“First date as in there will be more,” the clone’s grin matched his fiance’s as he looked between them. “Jon you sly dog, did you get yourself a bat boyfriend?”
“Oh my God,” Jon mumbled, face going red in a new way for that day that was more familiar to Damian as his My Family is Embarrassing me Please Send Help face, as titled by his brother.
“He did,” Damian spoke up for him with a slightly puffed chest.
“I did,” Jon repeated with a smile down at Damian.
“Well, it’s time for me to get your little bat back to Gotham,” Tim interjected.
“Who are you calling little?” Damian raised an eyebrow. He was as tall as Drake and still growing. If it weren’t for Cain, Drake would have been the shortest of the bats.
“Can you please let me live in a fantasy where my little brother is still little for five minutes?” Drake pleaded with him.
Damian rolled his eyes again as Drake kissed his fiance goodbye.
Together they started to walk away from the Kent brothers and back to Drake’s car. Drake allowed the kick that came to his shins as they walked off and even smiled. When they got to the car, Damian had made up his mind.
“Hold this,” Damian said, passing the bear off to Drake as quickly as he could with a stuffed animal of it;s size. “If you drop Jon Jr. I won't hesitate to stick a blade in your shin.”
“Got it, no dropping,” Drake grinned at him over the bear. “Go get him.”
Damian nodded and ran back in the direction they had come from until he reached the fountain and spotted the Kent brothers walking in the other direction. He had to rush to keep up with even just their walking speed, reminding him of how much Jon had to control himself and slow down the entire day. Luckily his own speed, as human as it was, was enough to reach them before they got to the clone’s car.
Without a word, Damian grabbed Jon’s arm as he turned to face him, and pushed up onto his tiptoes to lock their lips together. Jon froze under his hand before melting into the kiss and sliding his hand into Damian’s hair and his other arm around his waist for support.
Damian pulled back with Jon chasing after his lips with his eyes closed. He smiled at the sight and pecked Jon’s lips one more time before parting fully and starting his run back in the direction of his brother’s car.
“You’ll call me, right?” he heard Jon yell behind him.
Damian turned on his heel to look back, “Get your phone fixed and I will.”
Then he kept running, a wide grin on his face.
Maybe sunny days in Metropolis weren't so bad after all.

“The power went out last night and my phone died! I am fine!” Henry wakes with a start and pulls on his boxers, darting out of the bedroom only to be completely embarrassed.
“Oh my god!” Her sister shouts at him with shocked eyes. Not only does she give him the up and down, but looks back and forth multiple times between the pair.
Y/N offers him a sheepish smile before turning toward her sister, “Ok, bye. You can go now,” She shoves her toward the door but her small sibling pushes back, “Do not…why are you so fucking strong!”
Not being aware of her terrible whispering skills, her sister says, “Superman is in his God Damn underwear in your apartment!”
“I know who he is, [sisters nickname]. Can we talk later?”
“I said you should get out there, not toss him a fucking coin, I have questions!”
“Ok, that was a good one,” they laugh but quickly get back to arguing, “but could you be more of an asshole right now? We have to talk later.”
She crosses her arms, “If you don’t text me later, I’m gonna tell mom about Nick McDonald!”
Y/N gasps, “You wouldn’t,”
Henry peeks around the corner, he has to hear this. “Oh, I would,” Her sister notices him spying and she points, “excuse me, Clark.”
“Stop it, S/N,” He can tell that Y/N is filled with embarrassment, “you need to go.” Her sister leaves the apartment with one last look at her little sister.
“Good Morning,” He strolls over to her and kisses her, “she seems like a handful.” He tugs at her robe, “This the famous robe?”
She nods, “I’m so sorry. She can kinda be an asshole. She has a key and she kinda thought you murdered me or something.” Her hands come up to his chest, “Apparently, sleeping with you was much worse.”
Henry gives a fake sniffle, “Well, I can’t say that doesn’t hurt.”
“Don’t worry about it, and she doesn’t tell our mother anything at all.”
“Who’s Nick McDonald?”
She stops in her tracks, “That is strictly confidential.”
Oh, this could be fun, “And here I thought you were a good girl.”
She pokes his foot with her own, “And I’m not a good girl anymore?” She puts on her best fake pout.
“That depends,” He is dangerously close to her face, “What’d ya do?”
Y/N knows her whole body is flushed by now and she doesn’t know if she can keep up with this kind of game, “Don’t worry about it.”
He wiggles his eyebrows, “That scandalous, huh?”
“You’re not gonna drop it?” he shakes his head, “I snuck him into my parents basement the summer after I graduated high school,” His brow pulls together and he purses his lips.
That’s definitely juicy gossip, but not blackmail gossip, “And? That can’t be all.”
A big exhale escapes her, “You’re not gonna let it go, are you?” he shakes his head, “Fine,” She confesses in a very low, quiet voice.
“Speak up, Love” He turns his ear to face, hoping he heard her correctly.
Her chest flushes, “I said he ate me out and he came in his pants.”
Henry gasps,”You absolute minx!”
“We were just horny kids!”
Henry’s mind fills with thoughts of how badly he’d want a girl like that when he was young; a playful, giggly girl who’d sneak him into her house and use him. That’s a boys dream come true, ”But you were such a good girl that he came without you even touching him,” She blushes hard and her whole body tingles, “do you think it was how good that sweet cunt of yours tasted or the excitement of getting caught?” She can’t find words, she can only lick her lips, “Good girls always taste like heaven,”
She could lose it at any moment, “I swear you’re not a real person, she chuckles under her breath, “It’s stupid.”
He gives her a small kiss on her nose, “Stupid hard.” His demeanor going from hyper sexual to super goofy only proves her point.
He notices the time on the stove, “Oh, we didn’t sleep long at all.”
She starts to give him small pecks, “I’m afraid not.”
“It’s only 8:13, and it’s Saturday,” He feels a soft sucking on his shoulder, “and it’s still all rainy.”
His eyes involuntarily close at the sensation, “Oh no, how tragic,”
His boxers are not doing very little to hide how much he wants Y/N right now, “I know. Isn’t it awful?"
He kisses her forehead and notices that her hair smells like sugar and flowers, “Did I tell you good morning?” He lifts her chin and gives her a simple kiss. He kisses her again, not giving a single care about morning breath. He pushes her against the counter, then has her jump up. “How many good mornings are too many?”
“Let’s find out.” Her legs wrap around his waist, while his hand opens her robe. He tickles her stomach and she laughs , “No!” His fingers descend further, finding her clit in no time, “You really know how to start the day, huh?”
He gives her one Henry kiss before kneeling down when the door swings open, causing them both to jump. “Hey, did I forget—Jesus!”
Henry grabs a box of cereal and awkwardly smiles as he places the box in front of himself, “Just, um, making breakfast, most important meal of the day.” Y/N slaps his stomach without even thinking, “Hmph. Sorry.”
She looks like she could start crying at any moment, but also punch her own sister in the face at the same time, “Why don’t you knock?” He can’t tell if he’s just super horny or if her shouting has further turned him on.
“I’m sorry I didn’t mean to interrupt. I’m just, I uh, thought I left my phone.” She grabs her phone off the counter, trying not to look anywhere but the floor. “Nicholas McDonald!” She practically runs out of the apartment.
Y/N looks at him and lets out a snort, “She’s probably screaming in the elevator right now.”
“She almost got quite the show.”
“Yeah?”
“Mhmm, you ok?” His voice is sensual, deep, but sickeningly sweet.
“Yeah, but she’s never going to forget about this.”
“I’m never gonna stop thinking about it.” Henry kisses her collarbone, “Won't forget this,” he kisses her chest, “certainly not these,” An extra soft kiss lands right above her belly button where she’s ticklish, “or that laugh,” he reaches his intended destination and gently licks her, “or how fucking good you taste.”
Her legs widen in pleasure, “Oh my god.” Her left hand pulls at his messy hair. His hands slip behind her bottom, pushing her further into his face, “Fuck!” She swears she can almost fell him smile against her. He’s much more hurried than he was last night, even more passionate and Y/N never thought of herself as a screamer but she swears she can feel a loud cry bubble up in her chest.
Henry very briefly breaks away just so he can listen to her but connects the second he senses her frustration. Both hands now connect to the back of his head, only egging him on further. He sucks harder and he groans with the tightening grip on his hair. She’s going to come, she’s going to come hard on this counter and it still won’t be enough. He can’t help it, something about her makes him insatiable. Her thighs snap around his head, leaving him in a cloud of pride. He rises as he wipes his mouth, “Good morning.”
Y/N almost lunges at him, backing him into a chair and hastily straddling him. “You’re fucking ridiculous.”
“Me?” Y/N’s robe is peeled from her body and thrown god knows where, “How could you say such a thing?”
Her head rolls back, inviting him to nibble and suck on her nipples. “Because...”
He stops, snaking a hand behind her neck so he can see her face, “Because why, sweetheart?” She whines and trembles at his gentle yet dominant gesture, “Answer me.”
“Because you feel too good.”
“Poor thing,” he pulls her face to his, “it must be so exhausting coming so hard.” His hand on the nape of her neck roams upward and tangles in her hair, “Maybe we should get back to bed,” their eyes are deadlocked.
“Or I can return the favor right here,” Y/N gives him a smirk, as she slides down to the floor.
Henry watches as she rubs her cheek on his thigh all while looking at him right in the eye, “You’re going to kill me.” No one should look so cute while doing something so dirty. She pulls him out of his underwear, stroking him, and not daring to look away from his face. She doesn’t break eye contact until she puts him in her mouth. Even then, she manages to look at times. She lets him go to get some air but stops her before she can continue, “Bed.”
After another round of moaning and groaning, and wobbly legs, they indeed did earn that nap. The coziness of her bed and softness of her skin sends Henry into a place he hasn’t felt since arriving for filming. This girl, this woman, who he’s barely known for 48 hours has made him feel at home. He knows it sounds strange. He knows this is very unlike him and it would seem to be unlike her as well. He’s holding her and has no intention of leaving her, so he pulls her even closer. His heart beats faster as she turns to bury her face in his chest like it was just where she belonged. What is it about her? I mean, he knows what it is but why now? Why when he’s working and leaving in a months time? He shakes the thought, squeezing her close again.
Y/N stirs in her sleep but doesn’t wake. A few moments later, she starts again and looks up at Henry with tired eyes, “I don’t think I’ve slept that hard in ages.”
“Yeah? I slept pretty good myself.” That morning voice.
“You’re so comfy.” She dramatically throws herself on top of him, welcoming his arms around her again.
He kisses the top of her head, “Do you wanna go out for lunch? I’m starving.”
“Oh, will this be that date you were talking about?”
“Yes,” He feels like he just asked a girl to dance at prom.
“Ok."
“But, I’ll need to get back to the hotel for a change.” She disapprovingly groans, “I don’t wanna go on our date with post rain shoes.”
“Post-rain shoes?”
“Yeah, you know when shoes make that fart noise.”
“Ah, the fart noise.” She plays with her necklace, half paying attention.
He blows a raspberry on her forehead before jumping out of bed, “Alright, you want to come with me or do you want me to come back?”
“And risk S/N having another fit at me?” He halts and turns on his heels.
“I forgot she was staying there.”
“She won’t cause a scene if you’re worried.” She has a secret pang of sadness and guilt in her chest. She would understand if he never wanted to see her again.
“I’m more worried about her interrogating me.”
“You should be.” Damn, straight.
“Oh? Any Ideas on what she’ll ask? I should be prepared.”
“Something along the lines of, ‘What were you doing to my sister?”
“I was about to split her in half.” Y/N face goes red.
“Henry!”
He has many smiles but he has a mischievous one that is similar to a boy who knows he’s been improper, “What would you like for me to say?”
“Definitely not that.”
“Maybe I’ll just run away from her. She can’t be that fast, she’s as tall as my leg.”
“Take it from me, that girl is fast when she’s angry. I dated someone much taller than you and she literally caught up to him in less that a minute. Don’t trust the little ones.”
“Taller than me? Good God, did he fall from a bean stalk?”
She laughs at look on his face, “No.” She can’t stop grinning at this suddenly thicker accent, “He was 6’5.”
“So, you’ve dated an Ent before. Noted.”
“I’m not attracted to trees, or any other lord of the rings creatures.”
He says under his breath, “Certainly not the hobbits.”
“I’m attracted to superheroes who hide in bars, and maybe Aragorn.”
“Is that right?”
“Mhmm.”
“I do know how to ride a horse.”
“I feel like British people are just born knowing how to ride horses.”
“Are all Americans born wielding guns?” Ouch.
“Oh, ha-ha,”
“You coming?” She pouts, “Don’t give me that look, I’ll never be able to leave.”
“If I go with you, I’ll never come back.” He stares at her, studying her face and loving how she doesn’t give two shits about how wild her morning hair is, “What?”
“I’m looking at you.”
“Well, yeah but why?” She plops her head back down to her pillow.
He wants to tell her that he find her fascinating and beautiful but he settles with his words, “I don’t know. I just like you.”
“I like you, too.”
“Will you like me next week?” Eager.
“Are you already asking me on a second date before out first date?”
“Yep,” He’s now fully dressed, in that perfect shirt. “How about this, I go back to the hotel, then we meet at Eco’s at 1?”
“It’s a date.” He kisses the top of her head and then very delicately on the lips.
“I’ll see you soon, Darling.” There’s that word again, Darling.

is it crazy to ask for a lil fic of some sort for the soulmate 'saviour' thing?
Not at all! Also, I think it’s funny how I recently said I probably wouldn’t answer any prompts anytime soon, but as soon as you sent this ask I was frantically typing this story on my phone, LOL. Hope you enjoy!
Based on this textpost
Drarry | 2.3k | Teen and up | Soulmate AU, Nicknames, Drunken Confessions, Sectumsempra Scars, Cuddles, Happy Ending | Read on AO3
The Dursleys never acknowledged it; never explained. It was just one more tally on a list of things that made him weird. That made him wrong.
Harry liked to stare down at it while he showered and imagine a thousand different reasons the word Saviour was tattooed on his chest, the ink a deep black that faded into gold around the sharp edges of the letters. He imagined himself flying like Superman did in the comics they kept on the highest shelf of the school library—imagined himself stopping comets from crashing against the planet with his bare hands, saving babies from raging fires.
In his daydreams, it never mattered if he got hurt. It only mattered that no one else did.
And then one night Hagrid stomped—quite literally—into his life, and he explained. He explained about Voldemort, about the magical world, about his parents. About the lightning bolt scar.
About the tattoo.
“It’s a soulmark,” he said. “Every witch and wizard has one. It’s meant to symbolise the nickname that your soulmate will give you when you’re together.”
“Do you have a soulmark?” Harry asked him, awed.
Hagrid laughed bitterly. “Nah. My only true loves are magical creatures anyway.” He leaned forward, as though to tell Harry a secret. “You have to be cautious who you share your soulmark with,” he said. “Could be dangerous if too many people knew. Especially with you being Harry Potter. There are… speculations, you see.”
“Oh.” Harry frowned. “What do people think it says?”
“Eh, the usual, you know. Love, honey… many people claim to know that it says whatever their daughter’s favourite word is. Very creepy, if you ask me.”
Harry nodded. “And what do you think it says?”
“Me?” Hagrid seemed uncomfortable by the question. “Well… Dumbledore wouldn’t tell me when we dropped you off at your Aunt’s, so I’ve been trying not to think about it, you know.”
“I don’t mind telling you,” Harry said.
“Really?” Hagrid’s face lit up. “Y-you don’t have to, but—”
Harry snickered, and told him.
He didn’t understand why Hagrid had to wipe away a few tears.
(more under the cut)
***
The first time he was called saviour was in his second year. Ginny, waking up beside him in the Hospital Wing and surrounded by her family, had murmured it without realising.
From the other side of her bed, Ron had given Harry an indecipherable look.
Ron’s tattoo was the word Idiot, neatly written on his ankle. Harry also knew Neville’s hip said Schnuckums, and he’d caught the word Flitterby inscribed in Ginny’s wrist when he’d rescued her from the Chamber of Secrets.
He didn’t think he would ever say such a word. Still, assuming he was Ginny’s soulmate was the obvious conclusion for any twelve-year-old, and Harry spent the next two years convincing himself he and Ginny were meant for each other.
And then Fleur Delacour called him a saviour when he emerged from the lake with her sister.
To be fair, Ron had been called an idiot by quite a number of people by then, including McGonagall, Hooch, all of his siblings and half their Gryffindor classmates, so Harry rationally knew that anyone could call another person by their soulmark nickname and not be their soulmate.
And yet, he spent a whole month sending increasingly confused letters to Sirius before he came to the conclusion that he liked playing Quidditch with Ginny more than he liked holding her hand.
***
Ron returned to the forest. Hermione, deep bags under her eyes, tears threatening to come out, called him an idiot, and then stormed over to where he was awkwardly standing, launched into his arms, and kissed him.
She’d never told them about her soulmark, but that night Harry learnt the word Love was neatly tattooed on her ankle.
On the same place as Ron’s, then.
***
Harry tore out the page of the Daily Prophet. Then he tore it into small, small pieces until his picture was no longer moving, until the headline—Saviour returns to Hogwarts—turned into a soup of letters in his hands.
As he threw the bits into the flames, he thought about his parents. He wondered, for what seemed like the thousandth time since he’d first stepped into the Gryffindor common room, if this had been the first place his mum had called his dad a Toerag. If this had been the place where he’d called her his Princess.
He’d never had the chance to ask Sirius about it. The only time they had talked about soulmates, Sirius had told him no matter how many people called him by the word on his chest, when the right person did it Harry would know. But when Harry had asked Sirius if he’d ever felt that, his expression had turned sombre as he’d shaken his head.
Now, Harry wondered if Sirius had even known what he was talking about. If it was all utter bullshit: the knowing, the butterflies and fireworks he’d imagined after hearing Sirius’ words, the very idea that there was someone out there—someone who would call him saviour, of all things—meant for him at all. If soulmates existed at all, or if it was all a bad joke meant to make him feel like he wasn’t destined to always be alone, even when he was surrounded by people.
***
Things were supposed to be better after the war ended. Harry guessed they were; all around him, the world was pulling itself back together. In a similar way to how his two best friends clung to one another and brought each other up, the castle was slowly becoming the warm, welcoming home it had always been, and so were its inhabitants.
Harry felt like he was sinking. Like he was too broken to be repaired, the wound so deep that nobody seemed to notice it was there.
Perhaps that was what drew him to Malfoy.
Malfoy, who looked broken, and tired, and as full of hurt as Harry felt. Malfoy, who took months of sitting in silence beside Harry, of half-hearted fights and sleepless nights in the Hogwarts corridors, to open up and tell Harry that nothing felt worth fighting for anymore.
Malfoy, who, a few months after the school year ended, rolled his eyes and mumbled the words bloody saviour as he accepted Harry’s scarf. He’d started sneezing uncontrollably, not dressed appropriately for the changing November weather.
It took Harry longer than it should have to notice—or perhaps to admit—that the word felt different when it fell from Draco’s lips. That the way Draco would use the word to point out the most mundane things Harry did, the way he’d catch Harry’s smile a moment later, always filled his chest with warmth.
That Draco was the first person to not make him hate the word in a very, very long time.
***
Soon the word became an inside joke between them. Soon, it began to come with soft brushes of hands, with private shared looks of mischief, of complicity. Soon, Draco would call him his saviour as Harry handed him the sugar bowl and Harry would just smile into Draco’s neck, and Draco would lean closer, allowing Harry to hide his smile for a second.
He didn’t know why he hadn’t told Draco yet. That saviour was his soulmark. That he was the first person that had made the word sound okay to his ears.
That he wanted him. That being around him was easy as breathing.
Okay, maybe he did know, even if he tried not to think about it.
He was scared. Scared that this would end—that he was mistaken, and Draco wasn’t really meant for him. After all, wouldn’t Harry have started calling Draco by some cheesy name by now if it was real? Wouldn’t they have talked about it at all?
“Has anyone ever called you by your soulmark?” Harry asked one night. They were slouched on the sofa of Harry’s shitty flat, as they often did these days, watching some crappy show and snapping back at the telly from time to time.
They never talked about their soulmarks. It made sense, Harry knew it—knowing what someone else’s mark was before you started calling them by it felt a lot like cheating.
Still, his mind wouldn’t stay quiet; wouldn’t stop telling him all of this, all he had with Draco, would disappear any moment like sand in the wind.
“Plenty,” Draco said, gaze weirdly fixed on the TV. They usually looked at each other more than the screen, each slumped on one arm of the sofa, legs tangled.
He was trying to hide a reaction, Harry knew.
“Me too.” Harry trailed his eyes to the screen too, but it didn’t catch his interest. He eyed Draco again. “Anyone feel different from the rest?”
Draco met Harry’s gaze. Then he eyed the clock. “I should get going.”
Harry slept badly that night, drowning in thoughts of Draco leaving. Of Draco being called by the word on his skin—a word Harry surely hadn’t said before and would never think to say—by plenty of people. What if Draco was destined for Harry, but someone else was destined for Draco?
***
He stumbled out of the elevator, Draco resting all of his weight on him. As he fumbled with the keys, Draco slurred into his ear. “You really are a saviour, huh?”
“And you’re really drunk,” Harry said, pushing the door open. “Sit down here a second, I’ll make up the sofa-bed.”
“Sleep with me.”
Harry spluttered—pulled back when Draco, leaning dangerously from the chair, tried to grab his jacket. “Wait here,” he said, a little breathless, and disappeared into the living room.
But when he walked back into the kitchen, heart in his throat, Draco’s words whirling in his mind, Draco wasn’t there.
Harry found him in the bedroom, sat on the bed, a deep frown scrunching his face as he tried to fumble with the buttons of his own shirt. He’d gotten halfway through, and Harry rushed toward him even though the sight had made something in him stir.
“Hey, stop that—” he started. But Draco, upon realising Harry was back, stood up and stumbled backwards, yanking the top of his shirt, as if to show Harry—
“Yeah, I know. Funny, isn’t it,” Draco said, although there was nothing funny about what Harry was seeing. “You slayed my soulmark in half and then became the sole person that makes my own name mean anything to me.” He laughed to himself.
Draco. The word, tattooed just below the sharp line of his collarbone, was split in half by an angry, deep scar that made the c almost nonexistent.
“We’re…” Harry started, not daring to finish the sentence.
Draco huffed, his sneer exaggerated by the alcohol. “Don’t be daft, Potty. Just because you say my name from time to time it doesn’t mean I would ever say whatever stupid, cheesy nonsense you have tattooed on your pretty arse—”
Harry pulled at the neck of his shirt, pushing aside the flap of his open denim jacket for Draco to see the word written under his collarbone.
“Not on my arse,” he muttered when Draco just stared at his chest.
A moment later, Draco shook his head. “But—I—didn’t—”
“You didn’t think that word could ever be my soulmark?” Harry asked. “Welcome to my world of disappointment.”
“I—” He shook his head again, stepped closer. “Only called you that because you’d… you’d started calling me by my name, and it felt so…” Draco touched Harry’s chest. He probably meant for it to be gentle, but he was unstable on his feet and ended up leaning forward, eyes closed, his weight on his palm where it pressed into Harry’s skin. “I was terrified. That you’d… that you’d notice. It couldn’t be you. I”—Draco frowned as though in pain—“couldn’t be for you. So I just—thought of the most ridiculous thing to call you, something that you would absolutely not have on your skin, under any circumstances, and I started calling you that so I wouldn’t call you anything else.”
Harry scoffed. At their luck; at the relief that was washing over him. “Good job,” he murmured, and Draco, emitting a low, pained whine, leaned into him completely, resting his chin on Harry’s shoulder.
“Does this mean I can sleep in your bed?” he asked after a long moment.
“Wouldn’t you like that.” Harry, an almost painful smile pulling at his lips, walked a grumbling Draco back to the sofa.
***
“Hey there,” Harry said. All that came from the bed was a low groan as Draco turned around. He’d gotten out of his work robes and not bothered with his pyjamas, and his eyes were barely open. “Long day at work?”
“Like you wouldn’t imagine,” Draco muttered, even though Harry knew he would hear all about it soon enough. “Hmph. Can’t wait to retire.”
Harry sat on the edge of the bed—pushed his shoes off. “My poor, poor Draco.” He laughed softly, nuzzling Draco’s neck between the sheets. Draco immediately grabbed at him and made him fall on his stomach into the blankets. “Still a few years till that happens, I’m afraid.”
“Hmphh,” Draco repeated by way of an answer. He sniffed Harry’s hair.
“Want me to make dinner?”
“Maybe.”
“Maybe?” Harry asked, amused.
“Not as much as I want you to stay in bed with me all evening,” Draco murmured.
“There’s an easy solution for that,” Harry said, taking his phone out. “Pizza or sushi?”
“Sushi.” Draco snuggled closer, then scowled. “Take off those hideous jeans.”
“Okay, okay, one second,” Harry laughed as Draco dragged him under the covers. He re-ordered their latest order and left the phone on the nightstand, then pushed his clothes down. “Gimme a foot.”
Draco squirmed in bed and draped a leg on Harry’s chest. When Harry started massaging the sole of his foot, he sighed, a smile finally revealing Harry’s favourite lines on Draco’s face, rather than the ones that formed when he frowned. “Mmm. My saviour.”
Harry smiled and kissed Draco’s knee.

gone, gone, gone (but you were never alone)
It’s dark, and Bruce can’t breathe.
He has about six clear seconds of memory - dread, a tilting floor, him falling and reaching and missing - and also, from before that, a vague recollection of what he had for lunch and a sharper one of the paperwork he filled out for HR this morning. Nothing clear enough to determine where he is right now, and why his ribcage is being crushed into his spine.
He isn’t called ‘detective’ for nothing, though. The concrete dust in his mouth and the sounds around him of weights still shifting to settle is enough of a clue to get a vague idea.
The question is, Bruce or Batman? It’s one that he answers with a twitch of his fingers, ignoring the pain from a broken forearm to touch his scalp. He finds the familiar pricked bat ears there and sighs a little with relief. Batman being injured is easier to deal with than Bruce Wayne, provided that the GCFD doesn’t need to dig him out of wherever he is.
When he gropes at it, he finds the protective casing that houses the earpiece in his cowl is broken apart, the earpiece itself fractured inside it. No wonder his head hurts - it would have taken a hell of a hit to break it. The casing might have saved him from a fatal brain injury.
He says ‘might’ because he might not yet be saved at all. The ache only barely bounded by his skull might be a precursor of something unsurvivable. Also, he might not get out here, head injury or no.
As he considers that, there’s a moan from off to his left, deep and rough. It’s ludicrous that Bruce can recognise the voice from that alone, but he knows his kids better than he knows his own face in the mirror. His heart begins to race.
“Jason,” he says. It hurts his chest to speak.
There’s a twitch of motion from Jason - absent, and then more purposeful. He groans briefly like he’s waking, the same way he did when he was thirteen and didn’t want to get up for school after a too-late night.
It cuts off dead. There’s the scratch of fabric against concrete, the sound of breathing.
Then, he screams.
In the tight space they’re in, it takes a moment for Bruce to resolve the strength of the sound into words.
“No!” Jason shouts. It sounds like he’s thrashing, pushing at his surroundings. There’s a dull roll of movement overhead in response like a threat. “Nonononono please. Please. No.”
Then, “Bruce, Bruce, B, Bruce, please no, PLEASE NO!” His voice cracks apart at the end with a gulping sob, devolving entirely.
Sometimes, Bruce feels like he’s still twenty, or twelve all over again. And then sometimes he feels like he’s lived a thousand years, every one of them more hellish than the last. Listening to his second son weep in terror puts him firmly into the second category.
“Jay,” Bruce says, except the sound barely makes it out from between his teeth. “Jason.”
He wishes he could move. Touching Jason in a moment like this is a dangerous move, but he’s gone deaf with remembered trauma and his name doesn’t penetrate. Bruce keeps saying it anyway, low and calm, waiting to break through the only way he can right now and painfully aware of how long it’s taking.
Jason, who has been beating ineffectually at his confines, suddenly seems to stiffen. His attention is a lead weight.
“Jay,” Bruce rasps, the same way he has been for minutes. “It’s okay. You’re gonna be okay.”
“...Bruce?”
“Yes. Breathe for me.”
“Okay,” Jason agrees, childlike in the wake of the frantic panic. “What happened?”
“Can you move?” Bruce asks instead of answering. “Are you hurt?”
“Uh. I don’t…” his breathing picks up audibly.
It feels awful to do it. Bruce says it anyway, voice firm. “Robin. Report.”
Jason hasn’t been Robin for years, and would lose it if Bruce called him that at any other time. Now, though, he replies immediately, “I’m okay. I think my arm’s broken. Left thigh laceration. I’m stuck.”
“Can you reach your belt? Right side.”
“Uh, yeah?”
“There’s a glowstick.”
“Oh,” Jason says, like he doesn’t carry it with him at all times. It was one of the first things Bruce noticed after the guns. There’s some rustling, and then a plasticky crackle that blooms into a soft blue glow in the palm of a stain-knuckled hand.
Jason, bubbled in the centre of the light, has lost his helmet at some point - maybe he wasn’t wearing it to start with? His eyes behind the red domino are wide enough to show white all around the irises. He’s on his back a couple of metres from Bruce, in the same foot-high void which is pressing Bruce down, and there’s a growing puddle of black-in-the-light blood underneath him.
At the same time Bruce is examining him, Jason is looking back. There’s a note of dread in his voice when he says, “Bruce.”
“I’m here,” Bruce says, deliberately misunderstanding and staunchly not looking down at himself. He forces his hand to grip at his cowl so he can pull it away from his face. “Just focus on me.”
“I need to get out,” Jason whispers back, and he doesn’t mean because of the bleeding. His face says he thinks he’s on the knife-edge of losing it entirely, that he’s not sure he can come back from that.
“I know,” Bruce soothes, that half-forgotten language he used on all his kids when they were young enough to look to him for it, or now when they’re hurt badly enough they forget they’re grown. It flows, easy. “But you’re not there. You’re here with me and we’re going to get out of here. Tell me what you can see.”
“Uh. Dirt,” Jason says. “No. That’s concrete. Right?”
“Yes,” Bruce confirms. “Any gaps above you?”
“Maybe?” Jason asks. “It’s. Dark.”
So they’re far enough under that there’s no light getting to them. There’s air, though - they’d be dead by now if there wasn’t. Bruce tries to adjust himself and ends up crabbing like a rat pinned in a trap, trying to keep the gasp in.
Even tangled up in flashbacks as he is, Jason notices that. “B?”
“I’m okay,” Bruce says, a lie that he only permits himself for Jason’s benefit. Internally he thinks, faintly, fuck, and still doesn’t look down.
There’s limited ways for them to get out of this situation, and none of those methods will be executable by then. Bruce can’t remember coming here or what happened, but he knows he wouldn’t have gone anywhere without at least Alfred in his ear. Going dark on the radio is an alarm that will have the birds swooping in from all angles.
That’s assuming that they weren’t present already and are halfway through the rubble to them: the best-case scenario. Or, the worst, that all of them are consumed by whatever they’re doing, incapable of leaving their own jobs half-done to dig around in rubble.
“I, um,” Jason says numbly. “I’m bleeding.”
Bruce looks across, finding Jason has moved the glowstick down to try and get a glance at his thigh. The blood beneath him has spread noticeably. Dangerously. Bruce’s brain starts doing blood-volume calculations.
“Um,” Jason says, “I-”
Then the glowstick hits the ground as his eyes roll back into his skull. It rolls six inches, illuminating his ghost-pale face and the slits of his sclera beneath his eyelashes.
Bruce’s lunge to him is aborted almost before it starts. He snarls in rage and pain, finally giving into the idea that even if Jason could wait for a rescue, he can’t. His spine, previously spiderwebbed by Bane -
Jason might be dying right in front of him. It’s not enough that he was too late last time, helpless to do anything but cradle his lifeless body. This time he might have to watch it happen -
When Bruce opens his mouth, it’s to say - yell, shout, scream - “Superman!”

LINK TO MY MASTERLIST
It was a rare occasion for the second year resident of Edenbrook Hospital with a fellow EMT to be seen at the long roads in the states. One day, Casey has an amazing idea to bring along her friends along with Keiki to a 3-day weekend road trip. Their final destination would be a vintage beach house to have a bonfire as their final days on the road. It sounds ridiculous since their jobs would never allow them, but by taking up most of the week cases and begging to Dr. Banerji. They were given a green light.
They ended up renting a van, for the whole trip. Bryce and Rafael were assigned as designated drivers for the whole trip. All of them had visited the wonders of the states, in the duration of the last 48 hours as they made their way to the final location. A secluded beach, where they would rent a beach house for a bonfire.
After what felt like an eternity, they finally arrived at their final location of the trip. The Gildosa Strand Beach looks majestic, with the beautiful blue waters as the sun shines across the golden sands. Casey felt herself smile at the beautiful sight as she immediately pulled Bryce into a hug, as he places a small kiss on her cheeks.
‘Finally, we are here.’ Jackie let out a scream as Elijah and Sienna immediately make their way to the beach. Rafael laughed at their antics along with Aurora as they cleared the trunk that was filled with their baggage.
‘Race ya to the shore Jackie!’ Keiki shouted before sprinting ahead as Jackie followed her from behind making the whole gang laugh.
‘Hey, the beach ain’t gonna play itself! C’mon guys!’ Elijah shouted from a distance, as the others took out the baggage. Rafael and Bryce carried most of the bags to the beach house, whilst Casey and Aurora settled on the lighter ones.
-------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
The beach house is spacious, the kitchen was filled with supplies and the living room is furnished and the view is spectacular. It was everything that they needed to get away from the real world.
‘Honestly, I want to stay here forever.’ Aurora said as her gaze falls to the beach.
‘Wow, I thought you were a mini Harper who enjoys work and not relaxing?’ Bryce assumes as he earns a glare from Aurora, making him put his hands up in a defensive manner.
‘Lay it off her Bryce, we all needed some time away. So, for now. Let us enjoy paradise.” Rafael said as he went to check out his room.
‘Okay, okay. I didn’t mean it that way Aurora. I just somehow, you looked like you never had a vacation and..” Bryce was stopped as Casey smack his arm causing him to shut up earning a soft chuckle from Aurora.
‘I get it Lahela, so the next 24 hours is going to be dedicated to me having the vacation of my dreams.’ Aurora replied before leaving to find her room as well.
Casey and Bryce stood there, as they stared at their friends and Keiki playing in the sun. Casey felt a pair of eyes are staring through her. She tilted her head and saw Bryce was staring at her.
‘What are you staring at Lahela?’
‘You.’ He replied with a smile whilst Casey felt her cheek burn from the heat.
‘This is our first vacation together, and I can’t believe it's going to end soon!’ Casey said with a sad tone in her voice.
‘I am not going to let your negativity ruined it for the both of us, we should enjoy it. With the bonfire tonight, it's going to be one of the best nights in our lives. Let’s live for tonight.” Bryce said as he pulled her into a sweet kiss.
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
After all the preparations are ready, all of them were seated in a circle around the bonfire. Casey was sat between a Lahela sandwich with Keiki and Bryce on both of her sides, followed by Aurora who is seated beside Bryce and Rafael, followed by Jackie, Elijah, and Sienna on their side.
The fire is bright as the darkness appears, all of them were silence enjoying the beauty of nature before Bryce cleared his throat.
‘Cheers to an amazing group of friends, and making amazing memories.’ Bryce said while raising his glass while glancing at the others.
‘You know when I first came to Edenbrook. I never would have thought that I would meet a bunch of amazing people who I am proud to call as my friends. You guys are really amazing. Cheers to all of you.’ Casey continues raising her glass as Keiki smiles feeling giddy inside.
‘Guys, this is supposed to be a vacation. Not, an emotional wedding toast or something.’ Elijah said as the others laugh at his comment.
‘Well, some of us maybe will end up on the aisle. We will never know.’ Sienna commented as her eyes gaze at both Bryce and Casey making them both blush.
The moon was shining above them in its finest as they all enjoyed their last night on the road together. Aurora clears her throat as well, commanding for the attention.
‘Soo, I figure I would like to prepare a toast as too. Cheers to this vacation, where we could take a breather from the hospital once every 365 days. I also wanted to say thank you for accepting me into this circle of friends, especially after everything we have been through. It feels nice, and somehow it felt like home.’ Aurora said as she met Casey’s eyes who nod in approval.
‘Aw, we are lucky to have you here Aurora.’ Sienna lets out a squeal as she pulled her into a small hug making her smile.
‘Raf, anything to add?’ Elijah asked as Rafael was lost in thought thinking about what to say.
‘I would like to propose a toast for this group also, for accepting me for who I am. Honestly, I somehow feel a bit out of my league among amazing doctors but, you guys accept me for the person who I am today and I couldn’t be more grateful. This has been an amazing time for us and well, I couldn’t have it any other way.’ Rafael cheered in happiness as the others let out a whoop from the speech.
‘Hey, buddy. You are a superman! I would kill to be like you.’ Elijah said patting his Rafael’s back.
‘The way you saved those people that is really admirable!’ Sienna squealed in delight as Rafael let out a small laugh.
'Yeah man, you are amazing!' Bryce exclaimed as they fist bump one another which is making Casey smile at the encounter.
'Okay, okay. It's my turn. I would like to cheers to another year of our residency and our life. When I first came to Edenbrook, my mind was set to the prize; being the best doctor. Without any distractions, and attachments. But, you guys prove me wrong. I need all the support I can get if I want to reach the top. I appreciate what we have here and honestly as Rafael said; I wouldn't have it any other way either. So, cheers to us.' Jackie raised her glass aswell, as Casey felt herself tearing up.
‘Jackie, that is beautiful.’ Casey commented as she wipes a tear that has fallen.
‘We love you too Jackie.’ Sienna exclaimed as she makes a heart with her hands towards her making her blush.
‘You guys are saps, but the craziest saps a girl could find.’ Jackie said as she lean in her chair.
‘Hey, sappiness is good. This is a golden moment, and sappiness is required.’ Casey said as the others laugh.
Bryce glanced at his sister who is itching to say something, he lets out a whistle capturing the others attentions as all eyes fall on him. Keiki looks at him, and lets out a small smile.
‘I think Keiki here have a few words to say aswell.’ Bryce gestured to Keiki who gave a small nod to him in appreciation. Keiki clears her throat and starts,
‘I am not an official member of this friend group, but I just want to lay out a few words here. I’m not much of a master in words, so I am winging it. No pressure, I have been here, living with Bryce for a few months now and I have never been happier. Its not a huge mansion at home, or a field full of unicorns but it is an equivalent to home. Let’s raise one for my annoying brother Bryce who is a bit full of himself but at the same time has the biggest heart a person could ever have...’ Keiki paused before continuing.
‘Elijah’s right, this sounds like a wedding toast but what the heck, its a good night to pass it on. I also, want to thank Casey for being the big sister that I never had, you really feel like family and in this moment,it feels perfect.’ Keiki concludes as the others lets out a sniff, even Jackie is crying over her tough demeanour. The whole minute was dedicated for wiping their own tears, as Sienna continued.
‘Since we are all saying all good things, I would like to join myself in the party. Last year, we were just wide eyed interns who is starting in life and honestly, we still are. But, now we are second year residents trying to stay strong despite everything. To put it short, I love each and everyone of you. After everything we have been through, I never could imagine doing it with anybody else. The adventure with Mr.s Martinez, to Casey’s hearing and everything. It brought us here together, and life couldnt get much better than this. So, here is to friendship!’ Sienna beamed at all of them as she leans her head on Elijah’s shoulder from the exhaustion and satisfaction.
Elijah rubs her back and raised his glass too.
‘I might not get sappier than all of you, but I really appreciate each and everyone of you. Sometimes, I wonder what if we worked at different hospitals and, just never had a chance to have this...’ He pursed his lips before continuing.
‘It would feel incomplete, and I owe you guys a lot for all the good times and even bad times. I have grown a lot in these years and its because of this circle of people here. Cheers to right here, right now.’ Elijah concludes his speech as the sound of the water crashes through their eardrums.
The circle around them are silence as the bonfire crackles to life, as everyone is capturing the moment around them. Casey felt herself leaning against Bryce, as he held her in his arms. Bryce placed a kiss on her forehead, followed by clearing his throat once more.
‘So, let’s save the best for last. I won’t get sappy here..’ Casey lets out a scoff as he winks at her.
‘As I was saying, I really am happy here. Med school was okay, but nothing could top this moment; good friend, great vibes. Period. But, through it all, I really am grateful to meet one of the most amazing girl a guy could ever asked for. These two years with her are the best years of my life and honestly, I couldnt wait for what our future will hold, so I decided...’ Bryce took out something from his back pocket and in dropped to one knee facing her. The others let out a chorus of gasps.
‘Casey Valentine, I may not be the guy from the magazines, but I am here as I am and it would be the greatest honor to be your husband. The world is still young for us, but I couldn’t imagine life without you in it. So, I told myself, what the heck, and lets do it. Everything from that leads to this moment, which leads to an important question. Will you marry me?’ Bryce lets out a small breathe as his eyes gaze into hers.
The atmosphere around them was thick, as time seemed to slow down for a moment. Bryce sat there with a huge amount of fear as he suddenly regrets, until... he saw the small nod from her.
‘Yes..’ she replied quietly as the tears started to fall .
‘Yes?’ Bryce stood up in excitement as Casey nods excitedly. He quickly pulled her for a kiss as he slip the ring on her finger.
Their friends let out a celebratory screamed as Bryce and Casey was engulfed in hugs by their friends. In that moment, everything is perfect. Although the tears blurred her vision, the silhouette of each of her friends. The smiles and tears as they celebrate the night were tattooed in her heart where they will be forever. As they will become friends until the very end.
THE END.
A/N #2: Hii again! I really hope you all enjoy reading it as much as I enjoy writing it!! here’s a short, relatively fluffy fic about what happens when jason todd and clint barton, a pair of career criminals and expert thieves, steal the winter soldier.
and to the anon who asked for a fluffy fic featuring hot chocolate, blankets, and warm feels shared by clint, jason, and tony....um. i’m really sorry. i’ve had a lot of cold medication. my reading comprehension is compromised.
Popular opinion would no doubt suggest that stealing the Winter Soldier is the ballsiest heist Jason and Clint have ever pulled. Jason’s not sure he’d rank it that high. After all, their Batcave stunt was pretty egregiously ill-advised, and then there was the time they stole fifty grand worth of Kryptonite with the use of a clipboard and some fake EPA inspector badges they printed out at a public library.
But keeping the Winter Soldier. Yeah. Sure. That’s pretty ballsy.
No real other options, though. At least none that either of them could live with.
Jason knows they’re doomed the moment he hears the quiet horror in Clint’s voice, the way his words catch, just a little, when he says, “Um. Jay? I think it’s a person.”
Because stealing a serial killer robot from HYDRA and then handing it off to the League of Assassins for “decommissioning” is one thing, but turning over a living, breathing human being is another. He and Clint walk all kinds of fuzzy ethical lines. God knows even Selina gets shrill about their activities sometimes. But they don’t deal in people. Not ever.
“Okay,” Jason says, nudging Clint gently out of the way. “Go steal us something fast. I’ll handle this.”
Because, between the two of them, Clint’s got the softer heart. He doesn’t get fussy about what happens in an honest fight, but he can get downright melancholy about the necessities of after-battle cleanup, and Jason’s happy to spare him from it, when he can.
So Clint goes to get them a car that’ll get them out of the country before Ra’s realizes he’s been screwed around, and Jason goes to hover over the Winter Soldier, freshly defrosted, still barely twitching his way back to consciousness.
And Jason’s not an asshole. Whatever this guy’s done, he hasn’t done it to Jason or anyone who belongs to him, so none of this is personal. It’s gonna be fast and easy, just a bullet between the eyebrows, but the Winter Soldier blinks his pretty eyes open, looks up the barrel of the gun, and stares right into Jason’s face.
“я готов отвечать,” he says.
Ready to comply, Jason thinks.
“Jesus fucking Christ,” Jason says.
And so, after that, Jason doesn’t have the heart to kill him, either.
There’s a lot of yelling in the days that follow. From all conceivable sides. Ra’s al Ghul threatens every kind of unpleasant thing, and HYDRA hounds after them like they’re supposed to be scared of a group of megalomaniacal old cult assholes too creepy to get invited to the local Free Masons, and Selina calls Jason every day for a week to shriek at him about how she didn’t save him from the streets of Gotham so he could get murdered for stealing the world’s most brutal assassin.
“Selina, c’mon,” Jason says, muttering into the phone. Winter’s asleep in the backseat, shackled up like Houdini before a trick, and they’ve had a couple exciting moments, but he’s mostly just been quiet and kinda eerily empty-eyed. He keeps asking Jason about the mission. “He’s fine. I mean, he’s a little rough around the edges, sure. But I found Clint in a dumpster.”
“Hey,” Clint says, whisper-hissing at him from the passenger seat.
“And he looked great,” Jason tacks on quickly, with a wink he hopes will smooth things over. “Amazing. That dumpster didn’t know how lucky it had it.”
“You need to be careful,” Selina says. She put down two HYDRA goons this morning. They barged in on her in her pajamas, and she’s probably more pissed about getting caught with bed hair than having to dump two bodies before noon.
Although, she never was much of a morning person.
“We’re being careful,” Clint promises, leaning over to talk into the phone. “We couldn’t leave him, Selina. You didn’t see him. It was--- it was really bad.”
Selina’s quiet for a moment. “He’s an international criminal,” she says. And then, probably after she remembers that every single person in this conversation has their own personal INTERPOL file, she adds: “He’s an assassin.”
“I think he’s nice,” Clint says, stubborn and loyal. As always.
He only thinks that because Winter keeps trying to palm him extra food. Jason has to make a big show out of giving Clint food at the same time as he unlocks Winter for meals, or Winter will only eat half his food and then stash the rest so he can sneak it to Clint later.
Jason does not consider this behavior an endorsement of HYDRA’s caretaking expertise.
“He’d better be worth all the trouble,” Selina says. But she doesn’t mean it. Selina’s a thief and a liar and sometimes a killer, but she’s just like Clint, really. Softhearted for lost causes, both of them.
Jason can’t complain. It’s that shared weakness that brought both of them to him.
“Well,” Jason says, “if he’s not, we’ll just drop him with whatever country’s offering the biggest bounty.”
“That’s my boy,” Selina says. “But remember to start a bidding war first.”
The thing about Winter is that he’s actually James Buchannan Barnes, Captain America’s best friend. He’s a Goddamn war hero, and HYDRA took him, tortured him, blended his brain, and made him kill people.
Jason grew up in Gotham, spent his formative years playing sidekick to Catwoman, so he’s seen some fucked-up situations. But it makes him sick, watching Winter work it out. Catching those sporadic flashes of Bucky Barnes, the miserable, devastated way he closes his eyes when the memories come, like it was better, somehow, when all he knew how to say was Yes, No, and Ready to comply.
And Clint was right. He is nice. He’s painfully sweet, really, in the way he frets over Clint until he figures out that Jason doesn’t actually run things, doesn’t own Clint, and sure as hell would never hurt him. And then he frets over both of them. Stoic and steely-eyed and stone-jawed, fretting like a Goddamn mother hen.
HYDRA wants him back, and Ra’s wants him dead, and Jason and Clint, as insistently and dramatically as they can, invite both of them to fuck right off.
They don’t really mean to keep him. Not forever. Just until people stop trying to murder him. Just until they can stash him in some nice town, where no one knows who he is, where he can go back to being Bucky Barnes full time and forget all about everything HYDRA made him into.
But people don’t stop. The whole world keeps coming after them. And Bucky, for his part, doesn’t want to leave them.
Six months in, Clint catches a bullet, and Bucky gets stolen, and Jason has to choose to leave Clint so he can go grab Bucky before they wipe him clean out of his own head. And Clint’s going to be fine, knows how to look after himself, didn’t get shot anywhere vital. But Jason crashes into that transport van with Clint’s blood on his hands, and it makes him crazy, a little. It makes him a nightmare.
So, afterwards, Selina brokers a meeting with Batman, and Jason goes, because Batman’s owed him a favor ever since that years-long game of tag he used to play with Nightwing resulted in him accidentally stumbling into a situation where he saved Nightwing’s life.
He doesn’t bring Clint, and he doesn’t bring Bucky, because he figures Batman’s not going to kill him, but he might throw him in prison. If he does, Selina will bust him out on principle, and she’d almost certainly do the same for Clint, but Bucky’s so new and so much trouble that she might just leave him where he’s less likely to get Jason killed.
“Look, Bats,” Jason says, when they’re finally standing uncomfortably on the same rooftop. “We don’t like each other. You’re the delusional iron fist of the bourgeoisie acting out your punishment kink on the unsuspecting poor, and I’m just a guy trying to make a living. But we gotta work together on this, okay? Or I’m gonna leak the porn I found on the Batcave computers.”
Batman takes a long breath in through his nose. He seems to visibly weigh out which issue to raise first. “You planted those files on the Batcave computers.”
And he hadn’t, actually. Clint did that. He’d spent the whole night before the job downloading Superman-themed porn, and he’d filled Jason’s laptop with so much malware that Jason eventually just burned the thing in a purifying pyre. But Jason had to admit that running those videos on every screen in the Batcave had resulted in a truly awe-inspiring, immersive experience.
“We were just trying to be supportive,” Jason says. “Anyway. Look. You owe me a favor.”
There’s a lot of back-and-forth after that, consisting mainly of Batman holding forth about how saving a life is its own reward and he doesn’t owe Jason a favor and Jason really needs to reconsider his life choices while he still has the opportunity to do so. But he seems to listen when Jason tells him what he knows about HYDRA, about how deep its infiltration of SHIELD and various world governments goes. He’s quiet when Jason talks about Bucky. And, when Jason hands over all their intel, he takes the flash drive readily enough.
“If this is more porn,” he says, holding up the flash drive, “I’m throwing all of you in Blackgate.”
“Jesus, Bats,” Jason says, not even trying to bite back a laugh. “If it had that much of an impact on you, you should do some solitary self-reflection about it. Maybe some of those documentaries we left for you could help.”
Jason leaves Gotham and drives through the morning and afternoon and early evening, doubling and then tripling back on his route, making sure he’s not being followed. When he finally makes it to the safehouse, he’s shivery cold and dead tired. Bucky goes over his bike, checking for any trackers Jason might have missed, and Clint bullies him right into the shower.
Afterwards, Jason faceplants on the couch, and Clint hauls him up a few minutes later so he can press a mug of hot chocolate into his hands. “Drink this,” he says.
“Coffee,” Jason groans.
“No,” Clint says, as he settles next to him. “You’ve gotta sleep, you asshole. You’ve been up for three days straight.”
“Whiskey,” Jason tries, a little less plaintive and a little more mutinous.
Clint sighs. “I already put bourbon in there.”
Jason hums, appeased, and leans over to press a smacking kiss to Clint’s cheek. “You’re a fucking saint,” he says.
“Oh, a fucking saint,” Clint mutters, rolling his eyes. There’s a pleased blush settling along the lines of his cheekbones. “Didn’t know they made those.”
“The patron saint of fucking,” Jason declares, sipping at his hot chocolate. “Endowed with the power of---”
“This should be good,” Bucky mumbles, from across the room.
“Oh shit,” Jason says, and nearly sloshes the hot chocolate on himself. He tries not to talk about sex too much in front of Bucky. He tries not to think about sex too much in front of Bucky. He’s helplessly in love with Clint, and has been since he hauled him out of that dumpster in Gotham, but, as Winter fades and Bucky manifests more confidently in this new century, there’s been a growing tension between the three of them that Jason, frankly, has no idea what to do with.
“No, go on,” Bucky says, like this is the conversation he wants to have. Like he’s not the slightest bit curious about the mission Jason just ran, the one that’s supposed to clear his name, open a path that allows them to work with SHIELD to burn HYDRA to the ground. “He’s the patron saint of what, again?”
“Yeah,” Clint says, blinking at him with his innocent face in place. “What were you saying?”
Jason rolls his eyes and takes a pointed drink of his hot chocolate. It’s nice, he decides. That everyone’s comfortable enough to shit-talk him these days. Real refreshing. A Goddamn triumph of the resiliency of the human spirit.
“It went alright?” Bucky says, because he’s almost always the merciful one. Maybe he enjoys the novelty of it.
When he wanders over, he snags a blanket off the nearby chair, and he curls up on the end of the couch beside Clint, tossing the blanket over the three of them. He holds his hands out toward Jason, and Jason, without even thinking, passes his hot chocolate over. Bucky’s fingers brush Jason’s, and linger.
Jason isn’t making this shit up. He knows he isn’t.
First of all, he spends half his life watching people hit on Clint. He knows the signs.
Second of all, people get hot chocolate on their lips every day, but nobody licks it off like that unless they’re trying to plant ideas in people’s heads about what else those lips and tongue could do.
“Um,” Jason says, when he realizes they’re both staring at him. “Yeah. I mean. He didn’t throw me off a roof or put me in prison, so. I think he’s gonna help.”
Clint and Bucky exchange a look and then shrug. By their standards, that’s the start of a highly promising business relationship.
“Well,” Clint says, as he sprawls out, tucked in tight against Jason’s side, with a casual ankle hooked around one of Bucky’s. “You guys wanna watch Dog Cops?”
Jason figures, between the bourbon, and the blanket, and the warm weight of Clint’s body, he’s gonna be asleep in fifteen minutes. But he’d give Clint anything he asked for. “Sure,” he says, eyes already drifting closed. “Sounds great.”
Two days later, they meet with a reserved, competent, endlessly unamused man named Phil Coulson. He doesn’t smile or laugh or seem to like them even a little bit. But he doesn’t try to kill them, either.
Four years later, they’re Strike Team Delta, and they’ve acquired Natasha Romanoff and a hell of a reputation. Coulson smiles more and yells more, and still hasn’t tried to kill them. Not once. Not even after Budapest.
HYDRA is ashes, and Bucky is theirs.
So what the hell. Maybe stealing the Winter Soldier wasn’t their ballsiest heist. But it was definitely their best.

Baker’s Dozen, Part 1
Oh my god we are at the home stretch and I am still amazed I managed to do all eight days. This is a two-parter, so the second chapter will be up tomorrow.
Day 7: First Morning @taiqrowweek
Rating: K
Words: 6,000
Summary: When a desperate escape from fans leaves Qrow seeking shelter in a nearby restaurant, he expects little of the rundown, failing business that offers him a table. One bite is all it takes to change his mind. [Actor and Chef AU]
Ao3 Link: Baker’s Dozen
~
Early Saturday afternoon found downtown L.A. bustling with traffic on the sidewalks and the road. Qrow found himself in the heart of Pershing Square, lying on the grass and enjoying the midday sun beaming down on him, wondering why he didn’t do this more often.
“Oh my god! Qrow Branwen?!”
His eyes shot open, seeing a small gaggle of women hurrying his way as every head within earshot turned to look right at him.
Oh right.
That was why.
He shot to his feet, yelling over his shoulder as he sprinted away, “Sorry! No autographs today!”
He thanked whatever gods might be out there that his last role forced him to stay in excellent shape, because he was easily able to outdistance his pursuers. Unfortunately, as he skirted around the foot traffic, their yells only seemed to be attracting more attention his way. He ever spotted one desperate teenager pulling a phone from her purse.
He was about to be all over Instagram, wasn’t he?
Knowing this called for every actor’s Superman disguise, Qrow pulled his sunglasses from his pocket, shoving them onto his face as he took the first alleyway he could find. Coming out on the other side, he slowed his pace to a fast walk, lowering his head to avoid further detection and slipped into the doorway of one of the businesses a few doors down before the other crowd could catch up.
He sighed, grateful for the dark atmosphere inside the building as he pulled out his phone. Alright, time to call his driver and get out of dodge.
“Table for one?” The question had him jerking around, seeing a young woman in a cowboy getup smiling his way from a little podium. Her golden hair was particularly eye catching, long and untamed in a way that reminded him of his twin sister’s. Her name tag, which was in the shape of a star, read ‘Yang’.
He took in the environment around her, noticing the array of booths and tables that made up the majority of the room, and realized he’d ducked right into a restaurant. “Uh, no sorry I uh-” He started to say, only to trail off as he actually considered it. Why the hell not? It wasn’t like he’d eaten, and it would take his driver about the same time to get there when having to slog through the weekend traffic. “I mean, yeah, just me. Can I get a booth as isolated as possible?”
“You got it!” Yang agreed, picking up one of the menus and leading him to a booth in the back. He couldn’t help but notice she even had spurs on her boots that clanked when she walked. The walls were decorated with a similar Texan flair, bull horns and deer antlers interspaced with paintings of farm homes and woodland creatures and metal lone stars. How quaint.
Despite the aesthetics though, it was obvious from the minute he sat down and the bench creaked loudly, that upkeep wasn’t a priority. Or, he reassessed as he took note of the lack of patrons despite it being the lunch hour, it probably just wasn’t in the budget. That probably wasn’t a promising sign on the quality for his upcoming meal.
“Ruby will be with you soon.” Yang said, setting the menu before him. The cover had the name ‘The Dragon’s Den’ proudly printed across it. Wait, that wasn’t southern. Did he somehow run all the way to Chinatown instead?
“Uh, thanks.” He flipped the menu, but with the lighting so low, he couldn’t read the finer script. He pulled off his sunglasses, setting them on the table before looking through his options. Despite the slightly confused name, everything within seemed pretty par for the course; roast beef, fried chicken, catfish, and a large array of barbequed meats that any Tramp off the street would gladly steal for his Lady.
“Howdy there, can I get you started w- Oh my god!”
Ah, shit.
He looked up, seeing yet another starstruck gaze aimed at him by a petite girl in a similar get up to the hostess but was a few years younger – was she even old enough to work here?
He held up his hand in a desperate attempt to ward off any screaming. “Kid, I swear to give you the best tip of your life if you keep quiet.”
His waitress pressed her notepad against her mouth, a muffled squeak escaping around it. After a moment, she took a breath, then lowered the notepad slightly to reveal a sly smile. “I’ll make sure Yang seats any customers far away from you if you promise me an autograph and a picture too.”
He snorted. What a devious little brat! He could appreciate that. “Deal.”
“Hehe, yes!” She gave a little hop before quickly composing herself, placing her pen to the page. “Alright stranger that I’ve never met and do not know the name of, what would you like to drink?”
“Don’t oversell it kid. And water’s fine.”
“Coming right up!” She scurried away. He watched her detour towards the front, dragging the blond woman to the back where they disappeared behind a set of swinging double doors.
He counted down from five in his head.
“EEEEEEEEEEEE!” Came two screams from the kitchen.
Right on cue.
“OUT! BOTH OF YOU, OUT!!” Was the next shout he heard, the tone definitely masculine.
Yang came back out first, her gaze lingering his way before she hurried away, giggling all the while. Ruby was next, setting a glass of water on his table along with a straw.
“Your drink, mon-sir.”
He laughed. “Did you mean monsieur?”
“Yeah, that one!” She giggled good-naturedly. Despite the fact she was an obvious fangirl, he found himself taking a liking to her.
“Heard a bit of yelling back there.” He gestured towards the doorway.
“Yeah, dad just thinks we’re being dumb. He doesn’t believe you’re out here.”
Dad? Well, that might explain why it seemed this rustic establishment was getting away with breaking child labor laws. “Eh, it’s probably better that way anyways.” Kids were cute; but adults fawning over him was always a little weird, especially if they were around his age.
“He wouldn’t know how to appreciate the moment anyways.”  Ruby clacked her heels together, spurs chiming when she did. “So were you ready to order or did you want a few minutes?”
He glanced down towards the menu. He wasn’t really used to food like this. Growing up, his dad would favor getting the rice cooker going rather than tend to the BBQ gathering dust outside. As for now, his career tended to call for strict dietery needs depending on what shape he needed to be in for each role – none of which ever called for anything steeped so heavily in grease and fat. “Any suggestions?”
“Ooo,” She tapped her chin with her pen thoughtfully. “Well dad just took out the kolaches a half hour ago, so those are extra good right now.”
The question was out of his mouth before he could think to fake it, “What’s a kolach?”
“Oh, it’s a Texas thing. Basically, it’s a pasty with filling. Today’s strawberry, which is my favorite.”
“Trying to sell me dessert before the main course?”
“Well yeah! That’s like the highlight of being an adult, right? When I move out, that’s how I’m gonna do it.” Ruby said proudly. “But if you want to be all traditional about it, then by far dad’s best dish is the country-fried steak.”
He knew what that dish was at least. Steak fried in batter and slathered in gravy. It sounded like a heart attack on a plate. He closed the menu decisively, handing it to her. “I’ll take your word for it.”
“Great!” She quickly wrote it down.
As the girl hurried over to go place his order, Qrow took the opportunity to look up the address and text it to An. ‘Pick me up in forty-five?’
‘Certainly sir.’ She replied.
He had just switched back to his browser, when Ruby came back, setting a small plate in front of him. The Kolach was about the size of a cookie, with a breading cooked to a nice golden brown and the bright red strawberry filling dusted over with powdered sugar.
“Here you go! The best dessert you’ll ever have.” She proclaimed.
It certainly looked good, but it wouldn’t have anything on his mother’s Ichigo Daifuku. “Maybe second greatest kiddo.”
Ruby looked about ready to defend her dessert’s honor when a call of ‘waiter’ had her drawing back. “Um, gotta go. Enjoy!”
Picking up the pastry, Qrow turned his attention back to his phone. He eyed the 2.9 rating the restaurant had on Yelp, his stomach turning with trepidation as he took his first bite. The outer crust had a nice crunch but the inner dough was fluffy and light, with a hint of butter. The sweetness also hit with less punch than he was expecting, the strawberry standing mostly on its own with only the sugar on top adding to it. Just the way he liked it.
He was right, it didn’t out beat the Daifuku… but it was pretty close.
As he polished it off, he pulled up the reviews, scanning through them.
‘Great food but the decor is just awful. Pretty sure the place hasn’t had an upgrade since the 70s.’
‘Nice staff but everyone looks like they should be operating out of a western drama.’
‘Terrible! The kid waiting on me didn’t even look fifteen. She was super clumsy too. Dropped a whole cup of BBQ right on my sweater. When I demanded to speak to the owner about it, the hostess gave me attitude about how he was too busy and called ME a blowhard! What a circus show! Never coming back!’
‘The food’s amazing, but the wait times are ridiculous. Forty-five minutes for a rack of ribs? Is there only one cook back there?’
And on they went. Complaints about the location, the confusing name, more on wait time and the staff. But, beyond a few issues on the food arriving too cold, there was nothing but stellar compliments for the taste. He lent back in his seat, hearing it give another dying groan. He watched Yang sit another table of five while Ruby bustled about to get their drinks. Eyed his crumb-dusted plate, realizing the treat was probably offered to him because someone hungry was more likely to notice the wait for the main course. What a sad state. Apparently great food but poor management and lack of funds to fix anything. The place probably wasn’t going to last another year.
Ruby was all smiles when she came back to him, clearing his dish. “So, did you like it?”
“It was excellent, just like you promised.” Qrow told her honestly. For a split second, he almost let that be the end of it all. To just have his meal and leave, forgetting all about the reviews that foreshadowed the Dragon Den’s closure and the innocent kid whose family would be facing thousands of dollars in debt.
Instead he found himself strangely invested. Perhaps it was just human curiosity or pure boredom, but whatever it was, something made him lean forward, cross his arms over the table and ask, “So Ruby, you said your dad’s the one cooking, but who runs the place?”
“He does.”
He arched a brow. “He’s the owner and the chef? And he makes his kids work here?”
She shifted on her feet. “Uh well, I only help out on weekends and maybe a weekday here or there when dad really needs me. Yang’s got it real bad tho. She has to rush from her classes at Cal State to here five times a week.”
As the suspicion niggled at the back of his mind, he almost asked, but figured the deliberate omission about the whereabouts of their mother was all the answer he needed.
“There’s no other waiters?” He asked instead.
“No, we’ve got a few part timers, just not enough for a full day. Dad keeps saying when business picks back up he’ll hire a few more and a new chef too but,” Ruby averted her gaze. “That was a year ago.”
“What happened?” He pressed.
She shook her head. “We kept losing staff and now I just think he’s too busy. He sometimes doesn’t even come home. He’ll just sleep at one of the tables and then be up for the next day.”
“He’s here every day? From open to close?”
“Yeah.”
He whistled low between his teeth, placing his palm under his chin. He’d had some rough shoots over the years, but at least he had the solace of taking breaks. “Wow. That’s awful. And I bet a teenager like you hates having to work when you’d rather be at home playing video games.”
“Oh, no. I don’t mind.” Ruby refuted, before amending shortly after, “Uh well, most times, at least. Jerky customers kind of ruin my day. But otherwise, it’s okay.”
He had a feeling it was anything but. “You sure ‘bout that?”
“Yeah. I mean, when we first moved here, this place was dad’s dream.” She waved vaguely in the air as if to encompass the little establishment. “He always loved making people happy by cooking for them. Even when I was a kid he’d tell me that the gift of a good meal is the smile on someone’s face when they eat it.” She faced him, resolute and steady. “I know it’s important to him, so if I can help him keep this place by working here every now and again, then that’s just what I’ll do.”
He studied her carefully, but nothing he could see seemed imply she was lying in any way. It was a value he could certainly respect, as he and his sister had grown up being told the importance of caring for and respecting their elders. But living in America taught him that not all families operated this way. It was surprising, but uplifting, to see it here. “That’s rather admirable of you.”
Before they could say more, a hiss of ‘Ruby!’ drew her up short, and then Yang was sidling over, an impressive stack of plates balanced precariously along her left arm. “Table 3 needs their check before they bounce on us.”
“Oh right.” She paused, just long enough to place the pastry dish on top of her sister’s already full load with an overly sweet smile.
Once his waitress had left, Qrow said, “Guess I’m distracting her.”
“I shouldn’t be surprised. You can distract half the nation.” Yang replied. “Must be awful, never having enough privacy.”
He shrugged it off, as if he hadn’t sprinted several blocks twenty minutes ago. “Comes with the business.”
“Well, I’d hate it. I get enough attention as it is.” She shifted some of the weight on her arm.
“Ah, what? You’re the total heartthrob in school or something?” He could see that. She had other assets that matched Raven’s – and he remembered how often that had the boys trailing after her like stray dogs desperate for affection.
“Or something.” She echoed vaguely. “I’m going to go check on your meal.”
It was only as she turned away, he noticed her right hand as it caught the faint light from above. The shine to the skin too bright to be natural and its immobility too revealing that the limb was anything but real.
Or something indeed.
God, maybe he should pitch a show because this was starting to feel like a classic TV sitcom. A single dad, running a failing restaurant and just struggling to get by to provide for his two kids, one of whom was disabled and the other was sacrificing the last of her childhood. Ruby, with her boundless optimism, would be the star of course. Yang would be the sassy, fiery-tempered co-host. Their dad would be a bumbling fool with a heart of gold. It would either top the charts or fail after the first season.
Not having much else to do as he waited, he texted the inane thought off to his agent.
Your writing leaves a lot to be desired. Stick to acting Qrow. Willow ordered.
He chuckled silently, replying: Is this why you gave your daughters such icy names? Because they were born from someone so cold?
Watch your tongue Branwen or I’ll tell Tommy Wiseau you want to co-star with him.
Ouch, I’ve got freezerburn.
I’m again questioning why I work with you.
You love me. He sent an obnoxious amount of kiss emojis along with it just to really annoy her.
She sent back swords. Ah, she was the best.
He decided to leave her alone, switching over to one of his racing game apps and immersing himself in the competition. Every now and again, he’d catch sight of the girls in the corner of his eye. Ruby taking orders and checking on customers. Yang fetching refills or cleaning up. His red Alpine racer was just passing the finish line of the second race when Ruby was coming back.
“Here you go, the best meal in the house.” She set down the dish before him. It was an excellent presentation, like it came right out of a cooking magazine. The fry-battered steak was a light, golden brown, slathered with a brownish-white, peppered gravy. A generous helping of fluffy, buttery mashed potatoes and bright yellow corn, both flecked with more pepper, completed the meal. All of it was framed by the plate with its dark blue flower trim that made the colors pop and really sold the southern charm.
“Thanks kiddo.” He said, feeling his stomach grumble.
“Enjoy!” She hesitated, adding in a small rush, “Just um, call me if you need me!”
He unrolled his utensils as she hurried away, shaking his head. She was probably hoping he’d call her every five minutes, just so she’d have more of an excuse to talk to him. Poor kid probably thought she was missing the opportunity of a lifetime. He didn’t let it bother him. After all, everyone who’s ever sat down with an interview with him knew he was a terrible conversationalist.
He cut down into the steak, finding it came apart easily and was perfectly cooked through. He dripped the bottom in the gravy, twisted it around on his fork, said a silent prayer to his arteries, and took the first bite.
Oh.
Oh.
Holy Mother of Mary.
The fried breading crunched nicely but the steak practically melted into his mouth, combining with the gravy and a series of spices he couldn’t even begin to name but knew it was doing something wonderful to his taste buds.
He hummed happily. It was good. It was beyond good. As he cut another piece and took another bite, finding it as delectable as the last, he still couldn’t believe it. There was just no way anything could be this delicious.
He was over three-quarters of the way through the steak by the time Ruby came to check on him.
“Sooo,” She glanced at his plate then to him, smirking, “You like it, don’t you?”
“Don’t look so smug.” Qrow replied halfheartedly, stuffing another forkful in his mouth and hearing her fading giggle.
He didn’t get it though; with food like this, the place should be packed. If people could wait in line to get his autograph for six hours, then why couldn’t they wait a measly half hour for an incredible meal?
“Hey kid.” He said when Ruby came back around again, this time to collect his empty plate.
“Yeah?”
“We still got to take your picture. Any chance I can give my compliments to the chef while we’re at it?”
“If Yang can be in it too, you got yourself a deal.”
He chuckled. Should have expected that. “You got it.”
“Eeeee!” She squealed, hopping in excitement. “Okay, okay, let’s go now!”
He obliged, finding it hard to move at first. Wow, he was stuffed. He managed to follow Ruby to the back, seeing her wave her sister over before he was led through the double doors.
Walking into the kitchen was like walking backstage on a set – wherein the stage was just a collection of pieces meant to play their positions and what was behind the curtain was where the magic truly happened to bring it all together. But instead of sound design and lights, it was sizzling grills and knives chopping down. And instead of half a dozen people rushing about, there was only one. He was mincing up an onion with a swift finesse only the best of chefs had while singing along with a cassette player that was peddling out country tunes.
“It’s a quarter after one, I’m all alone and I need you nooow.”
Singing badly, Qrow thought, cringing inwardly.
“Dad, no!” Ruby cried. Not even looking their way, the man just continued on, more loudly and off-key then before.
“Oh god, please smite me.” Yang groaned as she walked in, hiding her face in her hand.
Her sister raced across the room, pulling at his sleeve, hissing insistently. “Dad, we have company.”
“Meaning I have an audience that actually appreciates my performance?” His laughter was hearty as he peered over her head. The cutting stopped immediately. “U-Uhh…” Was all he managed to splutter before looking down at his daughter. “Uh?!”
“Told you he was here.” She said in a know-it-all sort of tone.
Used to this, Qrow just cleared his throat, introducing himself even if it felt a bit arbitrary. “Qrow Branwen. A pleasure to meet you.”
The man didn’t reply straight away, still taken aback by his very presence – or perhaps, from the faint lines of panic crinkling his brow, weighing over the fact he’d just served a celebrity without actually knowing it. Whatever it was, he seemed to catch his bearings, setting down his knife and crossing the kitchen. As he introduced himself in turn, he held out his hand, “Believe me, pleasure’s all mine. Name’s Taiyang Xiao Long.”
Xiao Long? Strange, he didn’t appear to have any Chinese in him, which likely meant he was married into the surname. At least now he really understood the restaurant’s title. Qrow shook his hand, surprised by the strong grip. He could feel the calluses built onto his hands from years of using cooking utensils.
“I apologize,” Taiyang said as he pulled back. “Had I taken my daughter’s word for it, I would have offered you a meal more extravagant. Or at the very least, some good wine.”
He had to keep himself from chuckling at the way Ruby stuck out her tongue at her dad’s back. “That’s alright. If I’m being honest, that was one of the finest meals I’ve had in quite some time.”
The chef’s cheeks turned a little rosy but his smile was just like his daughter’s, toothy and bright. “That’s mighty kind of you to say.” Heh, cute. He even talked like the aesthetic.
Before they could converse more, the ringing of a timer drew Taiyang’s attention. “Ah, pardon me.” He hurried to the stove, pausing only long enough to wash his hands.
“Sooooo,” Ruby stretched out the word as she slid back over, pulling out her phone. “Picture?”
“Wait, hold on!” Yang ripped off her hat, finger-combing through her golden locks. “Does my hair look okay?”
Her sister gave her a thumb’s up. “Like a rat’s nest. So yes- Ack!” She got smacked in the face with the hat.
“Girls, don’t be bothering him like that.” Their father chastised, stirring something in a large pot.
“We’re not!” Yang claimed.
He shook his head, but it was hard to tell if it was at her or at the soup he was tasting. “Really Mr. Branwen, you don’t have to.”
Ruby looked scandalized. “What?!”
“He owes us. I kept all the other customers away from him.” His eldest explained.
His head whipped around. “That’s worse! A man shouldn’t have to pay for his privacy!” As he pulled down some spices, he continued, “What you two ought to be doing is just appreciating the moment.”
“Oh, that’s a wonderful idea dad. Now if only I had something to capture it with and keep it forever. Oh wait!” Ruby waved around her phone violently. “I DO!”
Unable to hold it in anymore, Qrow started to laugh. He was right; they would make a good sitcom. “It’s been a long time since I’ve met such interesting people.” He addressed the chef, “It’s alright, really. I did promise them.”
Taiyang opened his mouth to protest further, but another timer went off – how many did he have? – so he just said, “To each his own I suppose.” Before he turned to go check something in the oven.
Taking the opportunity for what it was, he held up his arms. “Alright, bring it in ladies.”
Ruby tossed her own hat next to Yang’s, giggling as his arm came around her shoulders. Yang was a little more uncomfortable, so he let his hand rest on her shoulder, above where he assumed her arm ended, and felt her relax almost instantly.
“Okay, 3, 2, 1!” They all smiled widely as the camera shutter clicked. They pulled away and Ruby looked it over to make sure it was good, before squealing happily. “Oh gosh it’s perfect! Thank you, thank you, thank you!”
“You’re – oof! – welcome.” He huffed out when she nearly tackled him with a hug. He pat her back. “Now, I believe I promised an autograph too?”
She grinned hugely. “Right, yes!” She grabbed Yang, “Come on we got to find something for him to sign!” The two hurried to a small office, and he caught Ruby saying, “He could even sign your arm!”
“You think?” Yang’s voice faded to the background, overtaken by a loud sizzling.
As Qrow came as close as he dared, Taiyang said, “Thank you for this. You really made their year.” He was stirring the onion he had minced earlier around a nice heap of melting butter in a hot pan.
“Like I said, it’s fine.” He echoed.
“Still, it’s appreciated.” The burner was flipped off and the pan taken from the heat, but the onions continued to sauté.  “‘Fraid I can’t offer you much in compensation though, beyond giving you your meal free.”
He tilted his head. “Can you afford that?”
“Really, I insist. As they say, happiness is priceless.” Was the curt reply.
Only the rich say that. He scoffed at the obvious farce – not that Taiyang noticed as he turned away to attend to something else. Subtlety by words had never been his strong suit, and it wouldn’t be in the next five minutes either. So, he cut to the chase, “Listen bud, I’m not going to sit here and pretend I know everything, but it’s pretty obvious from the state of this place to the lack of non-relative employees, that you’re not exactly in good standing.”
“An astute observation, but I don’t believe you needed to bring up all that just to make a case to pay for your meal.” He was back to chopping – this time, potatoes. Stubborn as a mule was a term invented for this guy, wasn’t it?
“It wasn’t.” Qrow assured. “It was a case to buy your restaurant.”
The knife chopped down so hard, it went right into the wood. Taiyang turned around to stare at him. A clatter to their left caught Qrow’s attention. The girls were both standing just outside of the office, the things they’d brought for him to sign now strewn across the ground.
No one spoke.
A beeping filled the air, and still no one spoke.
“Uh. Timer?” He said, awkwardly.
Taiyang seemed to blink out of whatever daze he was in. He came forward, almost aggressively enough that Qrow tried not to shrink back, but the other man only reached over his shoulder to turn off the timer, side-eyeing him as he walked away.
“Really?” Ruby’s small but hopeful voice shook the tense air.
Yang’s was more suspicious. “You do know you’re buying a failing business, right?”
He offered the duo a smile. “Won’t be failing when I’m done with it. This place just needs a bit of sprucing up. More staff. Maybe a new location-”
Slam! Went a cooking sheet on the countertop.
“No.” Taiyang said rigidly.
Unperturbed, Qrow carried on. “Alright, no new location. Kind of a bad move but I can work with that. But the name has got to-”
“Stop.” He commanded. “Do not treat me like a fool. I may not have grown up here, but I learned rather quickly that folks around here will do a lot for 15 minutes of fame. I will not allow you to do the same to my family.”
“What, dad-!” Yang started
“Can’t you just-!” Ruby spoke over her.
“Quiet, both of you!” He bellowed, before turning his back to them, grabbing some tongs to turn the racks of ribs around a bit more aggressively then needed. “The answer is no, and that’s final. Now, I will thank you kindly to take your empty offer and walk it out the door.”
When the girls started to raise protest again, Qrow was the one to silence them this time, raising a finger to his lips, before he took a few steps closer to the chef. “Believe me when I say the offer is not empty. Your daughter over there tells me how much this place meant to you when you first got it, but now you’re letting it rot under your feet. Is that really how you want it to go out?” The other man’s jaw clenched and he refused to look at him. He took that as a good sign, reaching out to place a tentative hand on his shoulder. “Let me help you and your family.”
For his efforts, a set of tongs were shoved so close to his face, they almost touched his nose.
Behind the makeshift weapon, Taiyang’s eyes bored into his own. He spoke steady and sharp, “Mr. Branwen, I will say this once and only once. I have put everything I got, my entire heart and soul, into this restaurant. It is the only thing I have for my girls and I am NOT about to gamble it away on some publicity stunt to stroke a rich man’s ego. So, you ask me to believe you? Then come back with a lawyer and a contract full of terms we both agree on, as I will settle for nothing less. Am I understood?”
The storm brewing in those blue eyes didn’t intimidate him, because this close, he could see the dark circles etching a deep exhaustion around them. The mark of a person desperate and at the end of their rope. Despite only knowing him for a few minutes, Qrow could tell that he was a good man, as well as aggravatingly hardheaded.
“Got it.” He told him, reaching into his pocket to fetch his shades. “I’ll see you in a few days then.”
As he pulled them on and turned away, he thought perhaps he heard Tai give some biting remark about how tomorrow, perhaps he’d be offered the moon. But he didn’t let it faze him. Instead, he crossed over to where the girls still stood, frozen – but unlike their father, they did nothing to hide the tentative hope on their faces.
Qrow lent down, fetching the sharpie and two sheets of paper, using a nearby counter to pen out the autographs. He even took the time to add his signature calligraphy, making the tail of the Q look like a feather. He offered each one in turn, “Ruby, Yang. Thank you for the pleasant experience.”
Yang was slow to take hers, as if she might say something. In the end she only thanked him.
Contrastingly, Ruby’s vibrancy was back, an almost nervous energy pitching her tone as she quickly offered to walk him to the door. It didn’t take him long to figure out why, as she hid her face in her treasured autograph and groaned. “I’m sorry about my dad. He’s just so, so, embarrassing!”
“He’s not so bad.” He refuted, stuffing his hands in his pockets. Against his fingertips, he felt the buzz from his phone signaling an incoming message – no doubt An letting him know she’d arrived. “He’s playing it smart. Even I don’t do a job without a contract.”
“Still, he could have been more polite.”
Her tone allowed no argument, so he didn’t bother to tell her that for him, it was actually a refreshing change of pace. He had all sorts of people tripping over themselves to fawn at his feet and, while some celebrities ate up all that attention, Qrow had certainly never been one of them. It was nice being talked to like an equal – a privilege often reserved only to his closest coworkers and manager.
There was also just something so honestly genuine about Tai. Call it simple intuition, but he knew what it took to play all sorts of characters and he could say without a doubt that the blond wouldn’t be able to fool a preschooler if he tried. He was the kind of man who hid nothing and wore his emotions right on his sleeve.
Qrow, who shuttered his behind fake smiles and sunglasses all day, could really appreciate a quality like that.
“It was really amazing to meet you.” Ruby said as she pulled open the front door for him. “Like, as in the-best-thing-to-ever-happen-to-me amazing.”
“You’re setting the standard pretty high there, considering it won’t be the last time you see me.” Qrow said, stepping outside.
Her expression lifted, her youth seeing to shine through in her eyes. “You mean, you’re really coming back? Ever after dad was, well, a total jerkwad?”
“Well, you know what they say. You feed a crow once, and it’ll come back to roost.” He pulled down his sunglasses, enough to wink at her. “See you ‘round kiddo.”
“Y-Yeah! See you! Thank you so much, Mr. Branwen!”
He was pretty sure she waved after his car long after it left the street.
~
Three days would pass before Qrow would return to the Dragon’s Den. Like a knight readying for battle, he stood in front of the door over an hour before opening time.
When Tai finally arrived, he almost dropped his keys in the gutter at the mere sight of him.
“Why hello thar pardner.” Qrow drawled, tipping an imaginary hat. “Fancy meeting you here.”
For a moment, he just stared blankly. But finally, a snort escaped him. “You need to do more westerns if that’s the best you got, pardner.” He stepped forward, adding more softly, “You, came back.”
He nodded. “’Fraid I don’t have the moon to offer you, but I got the next best thing.”
Taking his cue, the gentlemen standing nearby fixed up his tie and strode forward. “Mr. Xiao Long? I’m Hei Xiong. I work in property management. It’s my understanding Mr. Branwen here would like to strike a deal with you.”
“Does he now?” That same bite Qrow’d heard in the kitchen was back, the blonde’s hackles already raised. Not missing a beat, Hei ruffled through a few papers in his folder, pulling out the top one to show him. Tai read it aloud. “Claim of co-ownership?”
“Yes. Mr. Branwen is interested in becoming your business partner.” The manager supplied.
“…Does he now?” He echoed as he looked towards Qrow, but the fiery attitude he’d expelled like a shield had doused some.
“We would be happy to discuss it in more detail this morning, if you’ve available?” Hei asked.
Anticipation held Qrow’s breath and anxiety jumped his heart as he waited for the other man’s response.
For the second time, he was rewarded with another of Tai’s bright and toothy grins. “I certainly am.” He stepped past them both and opened the door to the Den. “Please come in.”
