After knowing that the head writer and executive producer of X-Men 97 got some internalized anti-blackness, black characters like Storm and Bishop getting fewer screen times perfectly wrapped in a believable excuse (one hit with power lost plot and had her main focus episode split into two and shared with others, the other got hit with lost in time plot while the baby he brought to future made more lines and appearance than him) and Sunspot's core black identity literally being stripped from his character on the series all makes sense now
Like yeah say company intervention or bla bla, but bro literally said on his own twitter acc he planned entire series by himself, that include how he chose to handle the black characters

In honor of Zach and Cody’s Italian Reservation Day I decided to rewatch the episode it’s from for the first time since I was a child.
Now, I could just be wearing nostalgia goggles, but was I the only kid who found the romance between London and Luca genuinely heartbreaking???
London finds someone who sees past her “rich bimbo” surface and actually likes her for her. Luca finds someone who sincerely believes in his musical talent, even willing to pay for Juilliard to support him. Despite Uncle Marcos’s scam, they fall for and work well with each other.
This scene where she’s waiting and waiting for him to show up for their dinner date and he doesn’t.
This moment where she breaks into tears and runs away. AND THEN LUCA APPEARS FROM THE BUSHES DRESSED IN A SUIT FOR THE DATE.
HE CARED ABOUT HER. HE WANTED TO GO ON A DATE WITH HER. AND NOW HE HAS TO WATCH HELPLESSLY AS HE BREAKS HER HEART.
Yes, I know this is silly because it’s a Disney channel show. But I remember as a child being genuinely heartbroken during this scene. At nine-years-old, this was peak romantic drama to me.
The angst. The drama. The regret. The betrayal. The forbidden romance.
Anyway I shipped these two before I even knew what shipping was as a concept. Good job, Disney, for giving me feelings I’d still have 15 years later.

Oh Elias is such a complex character. Wendy is irredeemable, but there's room to argue that what Elias has made is mistakes. I suspect there will be more to unpack with him with Jake, though.
Oh exactly, exactly, and I love how they managed it with so little screen time or exposition. It was very much a show, don't tell sort of thing, which is one of my favorite methods of storytelling. They didn't have to outright say, yeah, Elias was in a weird position and he did a bad job of it so Marc left anyway. (Which is boiling it down to the bare minimum, but you get where I'm headed there.)
We feel Elias's love for Marc, we see him continue to reach out to him even in the midst of an unspeakable tragedy. We see him literally chase him out the door, the very first time Marc runs away. He's the one that calls Marc when Wendy dies, so in a way, he's the one that starts breaking down the walls between Marc and Steven.
I want to know more about him. And to be honest, I want to know more about their childhood that we don't see, hell, that maybe Marc and Steven don't even see. What happens that brings Jake forward? What about their parents has Jake protected them from?

I’ve heard the leaked episode thing was someone making it up but I’m not too sure so hopefully you can ignore whatever image they showed u
I’d like to move on for the time being but Yeah, there’s no leaked full episode on the internet - but the important part is yet. An anon on 4chan does have it, and it’s all up to them whether they decide to leak it or not; and they’ve already leaked some of it.
I’m incredibly used to seeing leaks so it doesn’t hurt much at all to witness myself, but it’s insanely disrespectful to the crew to have this stuff leak and be spread by people. So that’s why I’ve been upset about it. Disney would be the kind of company to pursue legal action if the full episode leaked (unlike CN), so I hope this detracts enough.
