Q: how long will it take for you to complete a request?

In answer to the posts you've made about the inspired status of the New Testament, the Great Commission, and how those interact with Christian antisemitism, here are some things I've found that have been very helpful for me.

A whole lot of it is context.

Much of the New Testament, especially the writings that are most reliably attributed to Paul, took place in a context where the question "Are we a sect of Judaism or are we our own thing?" was an important and relevant discussion. There's a lot of content in the Epistles particularly that boils down to "Jews do X and we do Y" that tends to feed antisemitism because it reads like X is bad and Y is superior. But I think it's possible, and probably much preferable, to read it as a history of the emergence of the Church and understand it as "If we were a sect of Judaism we would do X, but we don't, therefore we're not Jews."

Also in terms of context, relative size and social power matter a lot. Think about an older sister and younger brother. When the sister is, say, 5 and the brother is 1, the sister is the bigger and stronger of the two of them and it's more important to make sure she doesn't accidentally hurt her brother. Then they grow up and now the sister, still older, is like 5'2 and her brother is 6'4. Now who's more likely to hurt whom? The brother needs to be more careful. The New Testament was written when we were a baby and our elder sibling had the ability to hurt us. Now we are older and much, much bigger and we have more ability to hurt our sibling. So being like "you smacked me when I was a helpless baby and it hurt, so I'm gonna smack you now" is profoundly shitty and also carries the ability to inflict devastating harm.

Thinking about the Great Commission, I think that it was given in a time and place where most people hadn't ever heard of Jesus or what he was teaching. So 'spread the word' was more vital. And it's really notable that it also included an explicit instruction to move on if people weren't interested -- that tends to get either omitted altogether or interpreted in a really ominous way, and I don't think that's necessary. Offer up the story to people, let them decide if they're interested, and if they're not, just keep moving, don't stick around and fight about it. And in today's Western world, most people have heard the story. Because of Christianity's cultural dominance, even people who don't care have it forced on them, and I think it violates the 'if they're not interested, move on' spirit of the Great Commission to aggressively try and make people listen more to something that's already bombarding them.

This is already getting super long and I don't want to bombard you, but this is something I've been thinking a lot about lately and I'm really relieved to find someone else having the same internal discussion! So if you wanna chat more, I'm really open to it. I hope some of these thoughts have been helpful for you!

Yes, mainly because I want people to know I appreciate them taking a second out of their day to support me and tell me what they enjoyed, are looking forward to, ect about the story they read or are reading. I sometimes have to use a translator, and I love that. I love knowing people from all over are still reading my stuff.

♡ What’s the fic you’ve written with the angstiest ending?

I deleted it but it was called The Dove Effect. It was set in Victorian London where the reader fell ill to Tuberculosis / Consumption Disease. Her partner had to watch as she suffered in a hospital, leaving him with little he could do to save her. Risking it, he kissed her and still kept her close only to get sick in return and die before her. She suffered of heartbreak, finally dying sometime after, not of the disease, but of her broken heart; thus the story's name, as doves usually die without their soulmate.

Any and all of them, depending on how you wanna look at it. XD;

I used to, mainly because of how my character, Oreana, works. Sadly, a majority of those aren't for viewing pleasure, as they are very cringy. Too cringy for me to let them be seen.

There was a very old crossover I wrote years ago in my late teens that I tore down. I forgot what it was called, but a lot of the anime and video game protagonists I had come to love were brought to life by scientific means in the current day. A catastrophic event occurred, causing all of them and a few humans who lived through it, to be located underground in an endless maze of rooms and the like. I think Kenshin and Vash were the 'leaders' of the many.

♡ Have you ever received hate on a fic?

HAH...yes...yes, I have. The recent ones were from a previous stalker, but there was one in particular that was interesting to me. It was someone who left a crummy comment on Contract, so I reported it as spam as the admins suggest you do with anon hate. A few weeks later, they reviewed Tome chapter 1 and apologized. I did appreciate it, as it's very rare anons will do that.

There was a time way back in my FF.net days where I had someone constantly harassing me through my YYH fanfics to where I had to tell people to not respond to them. I even had to shut off anons to where the person made an account just to DM me 2—yes—2 different DMs to tell me in lengthy detail how much I suck and why. I knew what it was, didn't read it and let it sit there for about a month before bothering. When I did, the tl;dr of it was to say they and their friend wanted to be my friend but hated how I acted at times and how disturbing my content was on another site. Lol They made an account, my dears, just for that... lol. And not another peep was had afterwards.

♡ Do you write smut? If so, what kind?

I think that's all I'm known for, requested, commissioned to do, so yes. X”D

What kind? Errr...I mean, I prefer there to be plot with my crazy fuckin', but I don't mind pure on kinky goodness without reason. Just rare I write that unless requested.

♡ Have you ever had a fic stolen?

Yup. The Worthless Humans. It was stolen word for word and posted on Fanfiction.net sometime after they BANNED NSFW fics...so...yeah. I think you can easily read through my AdultFanfiction.net (at the time—it's now .org) reviews and one of my reviewers is like 'hey, just curious if you posted this on FF.net...? because it's on there...' Here it is. Found it:

I had to confront the person who was claiming their friend wrote the story and told them to post it. Enough complaints were filed anyways, and it was torn down because it violated the major TOS of no NSFW stories.

What's funny is...about a year later (I think) that Yoko person apologized for the misunderstanding. She explained that a person who was her friend at the time claimed to be the writer and gave her the go ahead to post it on FF.net. The sad part is... I think I know the person Yoko was mentioning, as that person tried to be my friend too and would send me stolen artwork from YYH artists I followed claiming to be the artist and that it was a gift to me. lol

♡ Have you ever had a fic translated?

No, but I've had many people asking if they can! (1) (2) to show a few.

For future reference: I really don't mind if people do translate my works. I just ask to be known as the author, linked back to and notified. Not just for the obvious, but so I can link the translated work in case other people read mainly in that language.

Hey all, name’s Deanna—but I go by Gold (feel free to call me either, Rose also works). I’ve been on Tumblr for a bit but haven’t had the courage to post anything of my own, so I’ve been getting lurking around. I wanna say I’ve been here for a year or so, but I’m bad with time.

After seeing people’s fanfics about Ghost from CoD: MW2 2022, as well as various Oscar Isaac characters (Moon Knight, Miguel O’Hara, etc.), it really made me wanna contribute to this dumpster fire of a platform (I use this adjective affectionately). Who knows—maybe someone might like my weird imaginings?

About me

To start simple, I go by she/her—if you even care. Some interests of mine are video games, reading, writing, and drawing, but writing and drawing are the bigger passions in my life. I’d say I’m part of the furry fandom but I don’t do the fursuiting stuff tbh, I just exist for the art and meet new people. But speaking of art, I’m looking to start a following and doing commissions, and maybe streaming drawing and playing games—but we’ll see if that actually takes off.

I joined Tumblr after a friend said that it was like Wattpad but was more accepting of weird. I think. And I’ve never wanted to go back. I really feel at home here. There’s also some sound writing advice here that I’m happy to see, and an ocean of people who might be like me.

About my WIP/writing

I fucking love fantasy so much, more so on the medieval side (knights, dragons), but I love everything fantasy. Sci-fi is a close second because of Star Wars and space is just so fucking cool.

So, about my current WIP. It’s a modern fantasy set in New York—except there’s an extra district for a populace who can use magic, dubbed the Magus. Unfortunately the relationship between the Magus and the Mundanes (regular people) has been tense for many decades, but has considerably cooled in recent times. Main character is my OC Blaine who’s the (known) firstborn of the prestigious Howler family, one of many gifted with magic. He’s a free radical who just wants to live life and have fun, but his father wants him to become CEO of his company when he passes. Along the line, Blaine for whatever reason loses the ability to use magic and fails to save his girlfriend—causing her to become crippled. And after causing shame to his family, basically being ostracized from high society, living amongst Mundanes, and dealing with trauma and depression, he ends up becoming a vigilante.

I know it’s a lot for a brief synopsis, but I didn’t wanna go on and on. I probably missed a lot of stuff I wanted to include but this post is long enough. Feel free to DM me or comment below if you have any questions, or just wanna talk!

Okay, I’ll put the link right here because I finished and stuff but am gonna keep this up for a day or two idk, I need sleep - probably mot gonna get it but you know what, content doesn’t create itself and yehhhhhh I wanna draw some gay boys so yeah. 

As always the sneak peaks are an unedited section of the fic, meaning that it will not be the same when I post it, but like a kinda outline, kinda finished - basically a quarter baked version of the real thing. Peter hated his luck sometimes

It’s not like he activily wentout to find torouble, okay? It just always seemed to find him and that was really annoying.

He was walking home from his shift when he heard voices in the alley. That wasn’t super strange, and usually he would mind his own business, but he couldn’t help but overhear ‘Plasma induced energy canon’ and he - as the rightful science nerd he was - decided to peak in. That’s all. It was his superhearing’s fault if you really thought about it.

SO when he did, he saw two men with a truck full of not common weapons. They looked like a hodgepodge of circutry and glowy objects that were definitely not natural. The third man, presumably the buyer, was asking for a demonstration and then the man with the gun who was the seller shot it at a wall, emitting a pruple energy blast with a loud shreik and a bright light that temporarily blinded, but when the light dimmed and smoke cleared there was a perfect whole in the dumpster next to them.

Peter blinked, zoning out on what they were saying next, and he had to turn and run because that sense in the back of his head was going haywire with run-getout-go! And he sped walked away from the alley and turned the corner.

What the fuck was that? Okay, nothing it was nothing. It was none of his bissniesss. But those guys didn’t look like scientists, and that weapon was definatly powerful. He should call the police but-

“He’s just human” 

Peter closed his eyes at MJ’s words from earlier.

“He doesn’t have superpowers. He can’t fight those things.” 

Cops can’t fight them… they aren’t equipped for that type of tech. So Avengers? How would he even get into contact with them?

“He invites those guys and the police can’t handle it.”

But he didn’t bring this on. He didn’t even know what this was. BUt maybe...maybe he had? In an advert way, invited something that only he could handle but could he even handle this?

“At least I do my research.”

He heard the slithery voice of scorpian in his head and hissed. Okay, he’d figure this out, come up with a solution but that was it. He wasn’t a hero, this isn’t gonna be a thing but… he wasn’t gonna let MJ down either. He wasn’t gonna put her dad in danger when he could handle it. He had special forces training, he was more equipped anyway - well not gearwise but training wise, he could handle some dangerous hybrid weapons that looked like they were from space.

It was his responsibility afterall. That’s what he had said to MJ and that was what Ned had hoped. He wasn’t doing it for himself this time. He was doing it so MJ’s dad wouldn’t have to.

Oh geez.

Okay, I wanna share a story from about a year and a half ago, cause I'm genuinely curious about what you guys think on the matter. It's been bugging me a bit lately since I recently adopted a new character after a long time and have been spoiling the heck outta them, and I know this blog is pretty opinionated on these sorts oof subjects.

So for a bit of a background to this, I never sell any design I buy. No matter what, when I buy a design/adopt from someone, I do so with full intention to keep them forever. I never pick up designs that I don't GENUINELY love for that exact reason, so I never feel tempted to completely lose interest in them. They may not serve the same purpose forever, but I never actually get rid of any adopts I own. I often incorporate them into my au Warriors universe in some way, but I'm lazy and never actually write any of that stuff down. I just remember it for whenever I'm intelligent enough to actually get to writing all that.

So about a year and a half ago, I was approached by someone who was interested in a character of mine on my TH. This was a SplishSplash design that I had bought way back in 2018 from one of their many TH purges, and I had the character for some time. I've only personally made one doodle of them, though I have quite a bit of lore that I will someday put down properly. They found the character from looking through Splishsplash's TH designs, and I guess fell in love with the character. Seeing my lack of massive investment and art on the character, they requested to buy them from me thinking I didn't care about them that much I guess.

I politely declined since as stated before, I never sell designs I've gotten from others. On top of that, I really do like this character, I'm just too lazy to draw like 98% of my characters or write down their lore and backstory in great detail. Anyways, this person got super pissy, talking about how I clearly don't care for or value the character if I'm not actively drawing, writing about/for, roleplaying with, or commissioning art for them, and that I should be more than willing to sell them of to someone who will love and appreciate them. After all, if I wasn't using them, why would it matter if I had them or not.

Needless to say, I was pretty baffled and just ignored their ranting in my dms and moved on with my life, but it really got me thinking. Do you actually have to actively invest in a character for them to be appropriately valued? I mean, what's the difference between buying a design just to appreciate them privately, vs actively using them publicly? Is there ever an instance where a character can be more loved over another solely based on how much effort you put into appreciating them? Idk, just curious about what y'all think.
