I don't know why I like media about grief so much. I like watching and reading and immersing myself in themes I have no experience of in real life. I write about grief, all of my works so far have been about grief, in some way or the other. When I was 14 I wrote about losing someone to the waters of time and not knowing what to do about it. When I was 15 I wrote about losing the figures you looked up to as a kid. When I was 16 I wrote about grieving for someone you never would become and when I was 17 I wrote about feeling immense grief for something that hasn't happened yet. And I often sit here wondering “does this ever go away? this obsession with grief? this longing to feel it knowing it destroys you anyway?”

I'll never know, not anytime soon anyway. The best I can hope for is writing about it.

I am exhausted down to my very soul today. I can feel it like an open wound. I am so so tired. And it hits harder now that I've been feeling a little better emotionally. Last night I realized I haven't thought about taking myself out in a few days at least. It's been a relief.

So maybe that's it. Maybe knowing I'm feeling a little better, and a little quieter inside, has shown me how very much I need to heal myself. Down to my soul. I AM wounded. I'm hurt and raw and so tired but I'm holding on a little tighter.

I need to make good on my spiritual plans. Center myself. Ground myself. Heal this wounded spirit.
