I don’t have anything tentacle like that but it does sound interesting so-

You always loved the beach so when you were able to book an Air BNB with a private beach, you were ecstatic. Finally you could relax on the sandy ground without anyone bothering you or worrying about having to move.

Idk if this counts (the hell am I talking about? I came up with this question smh 😞), but I weirdly like his backstory? I just really like the whole thing about him being insecure, and then overcoming that by becoming who he wanted to be and working on himself. That's a little more broad than I intended for this question, but that kind of thing that really fleshed him out to be more than just a side character is really what drew me toward him. Also my "inside" joke is that I love me an insecure man whose biggest secret is that he's insecure. I hadn't even realized that until long after I'd recruited him as my new main F/O to follow up Leo Valdez, who, spoiler alert, is the same way.

Yes, I utilize whump to sleep. Daydreaming helps keep me distracted from the nightly thought spiral, while whumpy daydreams help calm me in a way. I usually daydream so hard my body forgets it's awake, and I fall into a "peaceful" sleep.

I tend to prefer Caretaker as a friend or associate of whumpees. I'm often times bored by most romantic relationships in writing. Romance alone is incredibly difficult to write, and rarely falls convincing to me. Caretaker as a partner is a trope that I have no problem with, but personally reading it adds nothing to me. It mainly clicks when they start as friends, but become lovers in the recovery process. But I sure do love whumpee and caretaker as best buddies.
