Ah yes the "fan" fake allegations train continues

Do yall remember the smajor grooming allegations?

It tired looking them up on twitter and they no longer exist.

I remember getting blocked by them because I was "asking and assuming to many questions" like how the some messages were choppy and edited.

And then there was the Tommyinnit on that lasted 2 days.

It's almost like every few month we get another allegations from a popular YouTuber about this, that and the third, but fake fans on a mission to ruin there careers before success taking back what they said or just deleting there account.

Crazy.

I don't know what some of you kids think "clout chase" looks like, but I got news for you: you're on Tumblr right now.

People who clout chase don't come here to do it, because there's no clout chasing to be done on here. You literally can't clout chase on Tumblr. Nobody knows who you are, nobody knows how many followers you have, and nobody cares. How many people even know what you look like, and how much do they care.

If we were clout chasing, we wouldn't be shitposting on Tumblr all day long.

The need for everyone to make a statement about whatever current event is exhausting.

I just don't care what x celeb, politician, or institution has to say in a public statement about much of anything TBH. Why? Because it really doesn't mean anything unless said entity actually has stakes in the current event and is genuine and articulate. And even then I think most are just oversharing anyways. Why open yourself up to the scrutiny? Not only that what are most of these statements actually accomplishing besides virtue signaling and clout chasing?

If you are supposed to be an ally or advocate I need to see you actually doing something in your daily life to back it up, not a fucking tweet. If you are deeply mourning the loss of someone did you do anything to send condolences privately to those impacted or did you just post an Instagram pic?

I guess I'm just really tired of people doing this shit and people demanding statements of solidarity or sympathy from people that may not give a shit, are indifferent, or superficially invested, just so they can be picked apart and assigned "good" or "bad" based on a sound byte that may or may not actually represent them as a person. People can say anything, but what they gonna do?

I will never forget the post George Floyd empty outrage and statements that didn't amount to much. What are all those allies doing now? I also hate the cop out of "raising awareness". What has this "raised awareness" inspired in your average person? Has the situation improved? Mostly all I see is a hot talking point popularized until the next IT topic. If I see one more apartment window with a BLM flag in a gentrified neighborhood and the resident doesn't even take the time to talk to black people or acknowledge them... I don't even know but I am cringing.

Maybe I'm cynical. I could care less if my friends, family, job, place of worship, grocery store, hair salon, city government, celeb, whoever the fuck makes a statement. And this is why I personally don't make statements about a lot of things unless you can look to my life and see those beliefs mirrored in the day to day.

I always like Jill Thompson's illustrations most of the regular artists on the comics, even her Muppet-Babiesified "Li'l Endless" was pretty clever.

5SOS “Older” promo observations

September 7, 2022 - Today the new 5SOS song “Older” drops, Ashton reposts only the promo videos with Luke and doesn’t include any tags. This morning he also posts a Peter Gabriel song “Sledgehammer” (which albeit an iconic song with great musicality) which is about sex and the lyrics are loaded with phallic symbols. The title of the song and various other references throughout it are a euphemism to the male genitalia.

Luke’s posts regarding “Older”. Posts clips of acoustic Luke only performing the song. Only reposts the videos (which don’t include her voice anywhere) and doesn’t tag her anywhere.

Compared to Michael, who has pushed the stunts numerous times and has brought up the stunts even when not asked about during interviews, includes S in his tags. Luke, Ash, or Cal don’t tag her in anything. The videos are of Luke singing acoustically by himself, which is so pretty on its own merit, and full on I wish that was the version we got on the album. S’s voice just wasn’t necessary, imo. The boys Like Sierra’s ig post but none of them put it to their own ig stories. There’s so much shade in this song drop!

Crystal (Michael’s supposed wife) is the reason Sierra was brought into the picture. Crystal’s profession is PR. She is the one who setup Luke with Sierra, Ashton with Kaykay (also applies with Marg, no longer narratively together yet she still stays friends with Ash’s work friends, this is weird because typically when you breakup with someone they don’t stay in your friend connections, which supports those whole “relationships” were a PR/bearding stunts contracts. They seem to stay connected with the other women because it’s all business, albeit toxic business.).

Then Sierra on HER OWN IG ACCT makes a post trying to convince us that this is her choosing to “stay behind the scenes” and letting the fans use a story about how Michael told them to finish a song that she and Luke had started on a voice note of Luke’s (which Luke had shared as a joke *hint hint* meaning he didn’t feel much of an emotional connection attachment to it) Luke shared it as a joke and now she’s narratively putting it across as a very meaningful Lierra love song. HONEY. Stop trying to make fetch happen 😂

She’s saying she stopped pursuing an artist career (doesn’t discount the amount she has used Luke’s career as solo and with 5sos for a paycheck and PR for herself), yet since she was put together with Luke, she has written and/or appeared on EVERY RECORD LUKE IS ON INCLUDING HIS SOLO. The engagement was announced at the same time his solo record was announced (even though supposedly it had happened months before. Why wait? Oh yes…. The PR for herself! Use the attention for his projects to gain attention to yourself.)

S making this type of statement for this song sounds so disingenuous. She’s insisting she wants to stay Behind The Scenes yet she’s one of the songwriters and her airy vocals are mixed so high in the track that hers pretty much overshadow Luke’s. The title of the song is “Older (featuring Sierra Deaton)”. If you want to stay bts, this doesn’t look like how you would do it. This is such irony. And again, her narrative of the song uses the PR relationship for attention.

Not trying to pile on AB, but this whole VT with her friends sort of proved that she does leverage her friends to do the “work” so she doesn’t look like a clout chaser. Joana (who stayed out of all this) suddenly posting baiting pics (tagging only JA and his BF) without AB, followed by JA posting only him/Joana. It felt like they wanted to keep ppl guessing (AB wasn’t with them…Maybe she was with her bf). Then they’re all clocked at the airport - so JA posts all 4 skiing. Weird behavior. Lol.

Travis Scott The Musician Who Took The Art out of Music.

Music can be like a mirror, it can reflect what an artist is feeling through the words they choose to sing, it can be a catalyst for social change which is a reflection on our flawed society. This transmission of ideas and feelings from the artist to the audience is a critical part of music’s influence and allure. A relationship is formed with some fans having a deep emotional connection to the artist and others that causally enjoy the music. Both of these factors help create a community of people that personify what the artist is about.

Unfortunately, these meaningful connections between the artist and audience are starting to depart from the music scene. I believe this is due to the over monetization of music which creates a loss of meaning in the music itself. Many artists don’t write their own music or even partake in the production of it. This reminds me of the now deceased Queen of England, she was a figure head without any power; much like the modern day musicians, who have no musical talent and are propped up by labels. The melodies and instrumentals are heavily researched to specifically appeal to the human brain. The lyrics are just as heavily produced as the melodies. Even when the artist goes to perform, they usually lip synch, which I actually don’t mind because their vocals are god awful. Travis Scott is the living embodiment of these qualities.

If you listen to Travis Scott, would you be able to tell me what his message was or what he was trying to convey. Probably not, because you probably couldn’t even understand the words coming out of his mouth. The lack of clarity of his vocals does a  good job of hiding his meaningless lyrics, that he probably didn’t even write. I looked up some of his lyrics of his most popular songs and there just as generic and unoriginal as you would think. I understand that not every word is meant to be fully pronounced in music, this can be due to the cadence of the song demanding a unique pronunciation of certain words. I also understand that musicians can’t create music solely by themselves and usually require a team around them. These nuances aren’t lost on me, but Travis Scott isn’t a nuanced musician, he’s more like a clout chasing air head.

So, why is Travis Scott so popular and idolized? Well, Like I said he is a clout chaser which reflects what society deems as important. In recent years people have stopped caring why someone got famous and for what reason; instead, they just applaud the fact they got famous. This is because the new currency is social currency which is a huge part of a clout chasing. Social currency is basically becoming well known by positive or negative means, which in turn gives that person some type of influence in society. This influence in essence can be exchanged for monetary gain or status.

Naturally the next question is why people go to his concert and what type of “music scene” does he have. I’m sure he has fans that love his music and the way it makes them feel. To be completely honest, I listen to his music occasionally and enjoy it, but I don’t attribute that to his artistic vision. I attribute it more to the army of scientists and music producers that make his music sound good. I think the allure of going to a Travis Scott concert is going to a Travis Scott concert and being seen. I feel like most of his fans don’t actually care about him or his music that much, instead they just want to post on social media that they went there. I mean it’s a pretty good relationship because he clearly doesn’t care about them either, which was evident on his Astroworld festival tour in 2021. He refused to stop his concert when the crowd was getting out of hand, killing nine people as a result. He later gave a lackluster apology on a short Instagram post, which wasn’t received well. This resulted in enough social pressure for him to have a one-on-one conversation with Charlamagne tha God for damage control reasons.

Thankfully, Travis Scott doesn’t represent all musicians, but instead shows a musical trend of the monetization of music which makes music lose its meaning. The “music scene” around him also exemplifies this attitude with his clout chasing fan base. But this isn’t true for other modern-day artists such as Juice World, Mac Miller, Kendrick Lamar, SZA, and Oliva Rodrigo who have fanbases that love them and connect to them in meaningful ways.
