Desmond just having a pretty decent retirement in the 18th century. Somehow managing to avoid any Assassin/Templar drama besides the one time he may or may not have been on the Aquila at the time of it's beaching because of nostalgia.

Until Faulkner finds him again as they need a navigator...

And Desmond still refuses, telling Faulkner to find somebody else.

Faulkner tries three more times but he’s always sent away… after tea and biscuits because Desmond wasn’t rude.

Then his next visitor turns out to be Ratonhnhaké:ton which meant Faulkner had sent the ‘big guns’.

Desmond knows of Ratonhnhaké:ton’s stubbornness and he’s fighting a losing battle since he’s too weak against any of his ancestors anyway.

He still tries.

But, in the end, just as he had expected it, he still lost.

So Desmond and Ratonhnhaké:ton find a compromise. He will only stay as the navigator until Desmond teaches one of the crew members how to navigate.

Then Ratonhnhaké:ton started hanging around when he’s teaching his replacement and it turns into Ratonhnhaké:ton joining the lessons.

Before long, it leads to Desmond and Ratonhnhaké:ton talking after every lesson.

Desmond knew he shouldn’t get close.

Hell, he’s old enough to be Ratonhnhaké:ton’s father and he didn’t really want to be in the Aquila when it’s time for the naval battle in the Battle of the Chesapeake.

Then Haytham boarded the ship as a ‘guest’ and he started snarking at Ratonhnhaké:ton’s sailing and captain skills and Desmond loses it, punching Haytham while defending Ratonhnhaké:ton from Haytham.

And that’s the day Desmond realizes…

Yeah…

He couldn’t avoid the whole Assassin/Templar drama.

He didn’t want to.

Because…

He wanted to be there for Ratonhnhaké:ton.

New pack means I'm actually playing the game for once. Building the ultimate farm now that I have HR and CL. Repurposed some sims from old playthroughs for my farm boys, so we have Sylas and Connor from my Cottage Living save and Milan from my Werewolves save. Plus Leon is their hired ranch hand, and I already love them. Connor and Sylas are married as per usual, and they hired Milan as their horse trainer. As it so happens though they became a throuple. Living their best lives.

So the buck being bi thing just made me realize something. I think I have a superpower. I just started watching the series as it comes out this season right, well this season is when they made buck canonically bi. This has happened before for me. I started watching supernatural as it came out on the last season. They made Cas and Dean Canon in the last season. I started watching teen Wolf as it came out on the last season, They made Lydia and stiles canon in the last season. I started watching Andy Mack in the last season. They made Cyrus and TJ canon in the last season. It’s happened other times too but those are the times it happened with the BIGGEST ships.
