I Need a Vacation Pt. 4: Daylight Rings

David's POV:
We followed Y/N's so-called "best friend" into town, to a hotel on the edge of town. I could tell Marko was uneasy around the stranger, chewing on his thumb the whole way there. Something he only did if he was anxious, or horny, and I was sure he wasn't the latter. Dwayne looked impassive, as usual, and Paul wouldn't shut the hell up the whole way there. We ducked into the hotel room and quickly drew the curtains. I didn't like being in a confined location with a stranger like this. But Y/N said she trusted him.
"What are we doing here?" Dwayne was the first to speak up.
"My friend, I can convince her to make you all daylight rings, so you can walk in the sun. She just needs to gather the supplies first."
"But, we dont have time- Y/N is hurting."
"And she'll be fine, she's gone through this plenty of times, it gets easier."
I could tell he was lying, he didn't even believe himself. He pulled out his phone, presumably texting this friend of his, I locked eyes with Paul, begging him to stop pacing. Marko heard my thoughts, and pulled him into a bear hug, sitting him on his lap.
"He does anything, we kill him and get out of here," Dwyane spoke through our bond.
"I wonder what it feels like," Marko asked.
"To be in the sun?" Dwayne responded.
"No, to be bit, would we hurt as much as she does? Would it be quick?"
Quite a profound thought from Marko, but I was curious too. Turning wasn't all that bad, from what I remember. But her's, it gave me goosebumps. Something about watching her write in pain made my head spin, and not in a good way.
"Yo, ask them to stop doing whatever they're doing, it's creepy." A male voice said.
A blonde and a shorter brunette walked in, I hadn't heard them enter due to the loudness of Paul and Marko's thoughts.
"Dude." The brunette chastised.
They were human, that much was obvious, I could hear the brunette's heart skip a beat when he looked at me. Not scared, just uncertain. The blonde carried himself like someone who could die any minute.
"Bonnie's contemplating."
"She'll come through, this is Y/N we're talking about."
"She almost let Caroline burn, and then literally set her on fire." The blonde stated, casually.
"Your friend set your other friend on fire, gnarly," Paul said.
I could tell his interest was peaked by these humans, they were bad-looking per se, just not my type. Paul didn't really have standards, which is why we try to steer him toward better prey.
"She'll come through, Matt. You know she hates seeing Y/N in pain just as much as the rest of us, if this will make her happy, Bonnie will do it."
He seemed annoyed, I was starting to like this Stefan.
"She found a place that sells the stones, three just loose but as long as they keep them on their body somewhere, it should still work."
"Should?" I asked.
"You can get the jewellery configured later. Despite the term "daylight ring" it doesn't have to be an actual ring. Just something you keep on at all times."
"You seem to know your stuff." "Yeah, well my girlfriend is a witch, I kinda have to. And she's coming to save your asses, so be grateful."
He had some fire to him, interesting.
"Is she hot?" Marko asked.
I see they were trying to distract themselves from the situation at hand. The boy scoffed.
"Where the hell did you find them again?" The blonde asked.
"Y/N has an attachment to them, she never gets attached to anyone... I'm not going to question it. I'd be a shitty best friend if I judge her for her dating choices when she never judged me for mine."
Another ding from his phone.
"Alright, she'll be here soon."
Another.
"And Elena wants you to text her Stefan." He sighed out the last part.
Dwayne watched the whole interaction in silence, carefully watching every move they made in case we needed a quick escape. he was good at strategising and thinking on his feet.
"What could she possibly want right now?" Stefan mumbled, excusing himself and stepping outside.
Which left us alone with the humans.
"Why do they let you live?" Paul asked, in a sleepy bored tone.
"Excuse me?" The blonde asked.
"Your vampires, we don't normally fraternise with humans, not long term at least. I'm surprised they haven't eaten you yet." Paul finished.
I bit back my smile at his antics, always antagonising someone. making a game out of their fear.
"Beacsue we're friends, asshat. Friends don't kill each other. Though we have tried. Vampires are harder to kill than you think. Besides, Stefan's not that bad, it's his brother that's a dick."
"You got a girlfriend?" Marko asked, shifting Paul on his lap.
"No..."
"Of course he doesnt, look at him." Paul jeered.
"What's that supposed to mean."
"Nobody likes a square, and you, my tasty little morsel, and the squariest."
I watched the hair on the back of his neck stand up at that. Suddenly the door opened and a small black girl stepped inside, followed by Stefan. She had a look of determination on her face. As if to show off her power, she used it to shut the door behind her.
"We're going to get one thing very clear here, I male you these rings, you can't go around killing innocent people? Got that?"
"Paul went to wine in protest, but Marko beat him to it."
"We're vampires cutie, it's what we do."
"Sunlight or I kill you all right now. Your choice."
Dwayne growled at this, but I sped to him, holding him back.
"Think rationally" I reminded.
He was normally so level-headed.
"Define innocent." I quizzed.
"Don't- I don't like playing games. I could burn you alive without even raising a finger, do you really want to test me right now."
Yeah, I kinda did. Pretty or not, she was a right bitch. Star would hate her.
"Y/N would hate you," Dwayne spoke up.
"She's known you for like what, five days, doubtful."
"And I've known you for all of three minutes, but I can tell you're just an insecure baby witch, who thinks she has something to prove. The minute you stop pretending to be so tough, you're afraid one of them is going to drain you dry and leave you in a ditch somewhere. So you play it up, but really, you take no joy in hurting people, even vampires. That's why you didn't kill your one friend."
"How does he know about Caroline?" she asked.
Seems like Dwyae was spot on, like always. It was like having a free therapist around.
"Fine, innocents." I agreed.
There were plenty of douchbags to kill anyway.
"Right Paul, Marko..." I said in a threatening tone.
Marko sighed, and Paul nodded his head. I would do anything to make sure my coven was safe. If we could go in the sun, that would change everything. We could get away from Max, go where he can't reach us. I'd have to ensure he never got his hands on the witch.
"And your friend?" The witch asked.
"Dwayne will agree, you just caught him in a mood."
"Good, then let's get started." She pulled me forward by my shirt collar suddenly. "But know, if I find out you lied to me, I will make your death slow and painful, and make the rest of them watch."
I smirked.
"I would expect nothing less." I could see now why Y/N was friends with her, she was fun and intense just like her. We sat and watched as she worked, it didn't seem like a demanding spell, Not that I knew anything bout magic, but it seems like something she'd done many times before. The look on Paul's face when the stones started floating was priceless as if he couldn't fly himself. It honestly wasn't that impressive.
"Done." She said.
"That's it?" Marko asked.
"Yes."
She shoved a stone into his chest. She left the rest on the table for each of us to pick from. Jeremy, I think his name was, brought his girlfriend in for a kiss, ending the interaction with a kiss on her forehead. They were sort of cute together, I had to admit. The blonde eyes Marko suspiciously, and I rolled my eyes at him.
"How do we know they work?" Dwayne asked.
"Why don't you wait around until daylight to find out? Or are you eager to go out there and get mauled to death by my friend? Would ruin all my hard work." She sassed.
"Thank you." I cut in.
"Bonnie."
"Bonnie."
"Bon we should go, see if we can track Y/N and Ty."
They exited the hotel room.
"Matt, why don't you go find Damon and Elena, I'll stay here with them."
This was going to be a long night...
Y/N POV:
I was more than grateful when the sun came up. Most people would be mortified to wake up naked in their brother's arms, but I was just happy he was here with me. I suppose that was the real curse of the lycan. Tyler looked down at me.
"How are you feeling?"
"Like all the bones in my body were forcefully broken and put back together." I joked.
He rolled his eyes.
"Care is on her way with some clothes." He took off his jacket. "This is all I can offer right now."
I grateful to put it on, scrunching myself into a small ball so it would cover as much skin as possible. I winced when I moved. Normally it didn't hurt this much.
"What happened?"
"Well, it appears my vampire gene outweighed my werewolf gene. You tried to kill me last night, multiple times. After the fifth time, you bit me, I had to stop you somehow."
"What?!?!"
"It's fine, it healed." He laughed.
"That isn't funny Ty. Why would I-" I huffed.
I looked over the injuries on my body, they weren't that bad. They would heal in a few days, thanks to my regenerative abilities. I looked up when I heard the scrunching of leaves. Caroline stood there with a worried look on her face. I cut her off before I could speak.
"I'm fine Care Bear"
She gave me a small smile, handing me the outfit she picked. My brother was quick to turn around.
"I'm gonna head back into town. You good?"
"Yes, go Ty."
Caroline's outfit was a bit too cleavagey for my current mood, so I put my brother's hoodie back over it. I zipped it halfway, allowing it to fall over my shoulders.
Tumblr media
"OH come on Y/N, that outfit was perfect!"
I rolled my eyes.
"And this is comfy." I gave her a quick spin. "Very comfy, which is what I need right now. I feel like roadkill."
She chuckled, pulling me into a hug and leading me back to civilization.
"You look like it too."
I playfully hit her shoulder. We walked back into town and there was only one thought on my mind… the boys. I wouldn’t be able to see them until nightfall. I wonder if they were ok, would they forgive me for not telling them what I was? I never meant to hurt them, or anyone for that matter. And god did I feel awful right now. My insides were worse than my outsides. Caroline seemed to notice my discomfort and grabbed my hand, giving it a light squeeze.
“Come on, we’ve got a surprise for you.”
I raised my brow at this. Surprises from Care were never good. I followed after her, a little worried about what would be waiting for me. But I was pleasantly surprised when we got to our destination. Maybe my eyes were fooling me, maybe I'd finally lost it. But there they were, standing right in front of me.
Marko was wrestling Paul in the sand, and Dwayne was chatting with Elena and Damon. And David sat beside Stefan, smoking a cigarette, I watched as Stefan accepted it. Now I know I was dreaming.
"Since when do you smoke?" I asked.
Both of the boys, my boys, looked up at me. It was weird seeing them in the same place. The guy I'd been crushing on since sophomore year, and the guy I was sure I fell in love with five days ago. David grinned up at me, his pretty teeth sparkling in the sunlight. I mean he looked good in the dark, but damn was he pretty in the light? Stefan cleared his throat after I had been staring.
"Since you stressed me the fuck out last night, Mouse."
"And he swears... David's rubbing off on you!"
He rolled his eyes. David took out another cig and lit it, noticing the one in Stefan's hand going stale. He passed it to me before taking a drag.
"Such a gentleman." I jeered.
"Just shut up and take it."
I took a long drag before passing it back.
"That what you were going to tell me last night before I wolfed out on you?"
Stefan coughed up a plum of smoke, and I almost felt bad... almost. David grinned like the Cheshire cat.
"Careful there Kitten, I think you might kill your boyfriend here."
"He's not my boyfriend." I squished in between the two of them. "If anything, he's my girlfriend."
I ruffled Stefan's perfect hair, and he swatted at my hands playfully.
"You ok?"
I gave him a thinly veiled smile.
"Physically? Yeah..."
"I'll convince Klaus to turn you, I promise."
"Dont do that thing you do Stefan, this isn't your problem to fix. I'm a big girl, I think I can convince Mr Brittish Psycho Manic to turn me, myself.
"British Psycho?" David asked.
I shot up from my seat, attempting my best impression of my least favoutite vampire.
"I am Klaus, the Immortal Hybrid, bow before me!"
This seemed to have got the attention of the others, because Damon let out a curt laugh, and Marko and Paul stood there confused.
"He's more of an Immortal Douchbag, who tried to date my bestie." "He never tried to date me." Stefan joked.
"You sure, 'cause that thing you described in the 20's" Stefan slapped a hand over my mouth and I giggled incessantly. I bit his hand, the venom only worked in werewolf form.
"JK, I was talking about Care Bear you dork."
Carolien swept me up into her arms, spinning me around.
"Aww, he could never steal me from you." She said, peppering kisses all over my face.
I tried to wiggle out of her arms but her grip on me was tight.
"A little help?" I looked over to Paul and Marko.
"No can do Babe," Marko said.
"Yeah, sorry but this is really hot," Paul said.
"Fat load of good you two are, this is why Dwayne's my favourite."
His head perked up at that, and he sent me the most angelic smile I'd ever seen. I could have sworn my heart stopped. Carolien finally put me down.
"So, how are the daylight rings treating you?" I asked. "Thank you, by the way." I aimed my thanks at Bonnie.
"There just stones right now," David said.
I raised a brow.
"They don't have much Lapis jewellery available in this town." Bonnie shrugged.
I grinned widely at that. They all looked at me confused.
"Tonight, give me your stones, I can fix them up for you. It's the least I can do before we have to go back home. You've been so kind to me, have to give you something to remember me by."
It would suck that I would have to leave soon. But I was sure we'd keep in touch somehow. Each of the boys had a distinct style, and I'd have to perfect their jewellery.

Salem is able to summon the Gods. Instead of destroying everything, the brothers sincerely apologize for the harm they’ve caused and promise to correct their mistakes.
“Hand over the crown and I will make sure your friends are safe,” Salem said as she lowered her hand and dragged Yang, Blake, Jaune, Nora, and Weiss down farther with the grimm hands that held them. “After all, that is why you came, wasnt it?”
Ren sighed and put a hand on Ruby’s shoulder to calm her. “Its the right choice.”
“You cant give it to her!” Weiss yelled out. “You know what she’ll do with it! We can handle this, all you have to do is- aaaaaagh!” A scream cut Weiss off as she felt the clawed hands dig into her skin as they pulled her down, slicing through her aura like it wasnt there.
“Weiss… is right, you can end it now!” Yang struggled against the hands that held her down, her hair burned as her semblance activated. “Dont give into her demands!”
Ruby sighed and held the crown out to Salem, her arm shook as it held the fate of Remnant. “I… I’m sorry, but I cant lose you guys too. Take it.”
Salem walked to Ruby and released the grimm hands that held the others once she had the crown in her hand. A smile crossed her lips as she put it to her belt along with the other relics. “I knew I could trust you.”
Yang’s eyes went red as she launched herself at Salem with her gauntlets pushing her forward through the air. Weiss quickly used a glyph to hold Salem still while Blake used the ribbon from Gambol Shroud to help keep Salem at bay. Yang slammed her fist into Salem with the full force of her semblance, her aura shattered on impact with the witch.
Salem rolled her eyes when she felt the hit and put a hand to the lamp. She spoke a single word as the world around her started to slow down. “Jinn.” Blue smoke started to pour out from all four relics as the spirits revealed themselves. Each one looked at Salem, concerned about the relics and why she was the one who had them.
“There… are no more questions this era,” Jinn stated as she took a quick glance around the room. She felt a sense of defeat as she looked between Ruby, who couldnt seem to look anyone in the eye, and to the rest of her team. “Unless… that’s not why I’m here.”
Salem’s smirk dropped as she looked at each of the spirits. “I have brought all the relics here together, which means its time for the gods to return to Remnant to judge it.”
Jinn sighed and gave a small nod. She and the other spirits of the relics took a deep breath and dissipated into smoke one by one. The smoke swirled around Salem and the relics started to hum as the spirits called for the one who created them. As the hum grew louder, the relics fell from Salem’s waist and began to glow until a pillar of light shot up into the air from them.
The clouds around the castle started to darken and a pillar of light blasted down to where the relics stood. Two figures came into view as the light disappeared, one made of darkness and the other like physical light. The one one of darkness spoke first as he looked down upon Salem.
“And why did you call us?”
“I called for you to judge Remnant!” Salem waved her hand to bring a seer grimm over to her. “To see that humanity is still divided and will never work together!”
The figure made of light sighed and shook his head. “We… I no longer need to judge humanity.”
“You told Ozma that you would judge Remnant when you came! That you would see if humanity can work together-”
“And I was wrong to put that on Ozma, just as I was for expecting you to not have your own judgment clouded by grief.” The figure of light placed a hand on Salem’s head and started to glow. “I revoke the curse I placed upon you.”
“You cant do this!” Salem lashed out at the figure with her magic, only to watch it stop in its tracks as the God of Darkness held his hand up. “You were supposed to destroy Remnant! ‘You shall live for as long as Remnant turns!’ You were supposed to wipe the world clean-”
“And my brother has realized that we were a bit… rash when we punished you,” The God of Darkness interrupted. “You were just a child when we judged you and placed this burden on you. For that, we will never be able to set it right. But for now, we will relieve you of your curse, of your burden, so you may finish the life you have lived.”
Salem growled in frustration as the God of Light pulled away and dropped to her knees. The black veins on her skin faded away as her skin gained a bit of color once again. Her eyes became the blue they were back from when she was cursed. “It wasnt supposed to end like this! I was supposed to rest!”
“And now you can.” The God of Light started to fade away, his words echoed in the air as he spoke. “I am truly sorry I hurt you child, but now is the time for you to rest.”
The God of Darkness put his hand down and started to fade away without a word, the magic he stopped continued it’s path into the wall behind him.
Yang finally spoke once the gods were gone and the relics lay lifeless. “So, that’s it? Is it finally over?”
“I guess so,” Blake replied. “Though, I expected it to be… different. But seeing that Salem is somewhat back to how she was, I guess that’s still a win for us. And we can help her-”
“No… this isnt… how its supposed to end!” Salem slowly stood up and glared at the relics. Black flames burst from her eyes as she channeled her magic through her body. “I will not let it end like this!”
The castle started to fall apart around Salem as she channeled her magic, lightning, fire, and ice started to spout from her hands as she focused. Ruby took a step back as she watched Salem, too afraid to speak any more.
“We need to get out of here!” Ren yelled as he pointed to the doorway that was beginning to crack. “Oscar and Maria will meet us outside the castle and then we can-”
“No time, the castle’s coming down!” Jaune quickly rushed to Ruby and Ren, his shield held above his head as the castle started to fall apart. “Weiss! Shield us with your glyphs, I’ll boost your aura! Yang! Grab anything you can use to help support-”
“Way ahead of you,” Yang said as she grabbed a piece of wood and used it to keep a few rocks from falling on her. “You think this is going to work?”
“Only one way to find out,” Jaune muttered under his breath. He put a hand on Weiss’s shoulder as she created a glyph above everyone and made room for Yang to put the piece of wood between them and Salem. He closed his eyes and took a breath as the castle collapsed around them.
As the dust settled, stone, glass, and wood dropped away from the glyph as it moved and broke. Ruby finally spoke as she looked around the ruins of the castle, her voice shook with each word. “So… its over, right? No more Salem?”
Yang nodded and supported a passed out Weiss. “Yeah, its over.” “So, what’s next?” Blake moved a bit of debris away and looked over to her teammates. “Even with Salem gone, the grimm will still be around.”
Ruby nodded and held the brooch she used to clasp her cloak together. “We start by making tomorrow better. Even if its not a fairytale ending, its why we’re here, why we’re huntresses.” She smiled and looked up at the broken moon. “To help those where we can.”

sorting the owl house characters into hogwarts houses, because im cringe
luz - ravenclaw
she’s creative and clever and is always searching to learn new things and loves learning just for the sake of learning. shes incredibly witty and quick thinking and open-minded. she’s constantly finding clever, creative, and original ways to solve her problems. she hardly blinked when given the opportunity to learn magic, and only continued to show an intense amount of intelligence and appreciation for academics. shes very resourceful as a human learning magic, finding a entirely new form of magic when it was apparent that she couldnt do it the traditional way. she’s very aspiring, wanting to be a witch and an author since she was very young. she’s very logical about a lot of things, like how it doesnt make sense to not allow witches to study multiple tracks or that people were imprisoned just for being themselves. she’s highly encouraging of individuality which is a lesser known trait of ravenclaw but very important. she can be a perfectionist at times and tended to avoid social interaction so she could persue her creativity. she’s outspoken, an overthinker, and very competitive. i think a lot of people might say she’s a hufflepuff, as she’s loyal and kind and hardworking, but luz values learning and creativity above any of those other things— this is evident, when she makes the decision to stay in the boiling isles to learn magic rather than go home to her mom, thus putting knowledge and creativity over her own family.
eda - gryffindor
she’s not afraid to stand up for herself and others and will never back down from a challenge. she would rather die as herself than live unauthentically. she’s very passionate and empathetic. she’s rebellious against rules that dont make sense to her and cares intensely for her friends and family. she has a strong internal moral code that she sticks to intensely, never straying from it. in the very first episode, she breaks into the conformatorium just to get a paper crown thats important to king. she let raine break up with her because she didnt want to burden them with her curse. she forfeited the match with lily because she knew her sister wanted to be in the emperor’s coven more than she ever did. she’s sacrifices herself for luz & king over and over again because she cares so deeply for her.
king - slytherin
he’s self-centered, smart, arrogant, and highly ambitious. he would do anything to achieve his goals— which was at first reclaiming his throne as the king of demons, and then turned into finding out where he came from. he tried to use luz as a means to reach his goals when he became an author, nearly sacrificing their friendship. he became incredibly loyal to luz after that in the same way he’s loyal to eda, the one who raised him.
(other characters under the cut)
lily - slytherin
it was between this and ravenclaw, because she’s incredibly intelligent and does seem to enjoy learning and has a great mind, she’s also incredibly ambitious and prideful. the deciding factor was that she cursed eda just to reach her own goals. she’s still loyal to eda even when working for belos, which says a lot to how she’s loyal to only a select few people. to her, the ends justify the means (making amity cheat to appear like the better teacher, cursing eda to win the duel, kidnapping luz to get belos to cure eda, losing her magic to help eda)
amity - gryffindor
this one was hard, i swapped between slytherin and gryffindor a lot for her. she’s ambitious and intelligent, but also not afraid to do whats right even if means breaking the rules. she’s self-sacrificing and empathetic and prideful. she ended her friendship with boscha to help luz and willow win. she didnt like luz at first because luz kept cheating and messing up her life, which means she has a strong moral code against cheating and bullies. she’s rebellious in small ways at first but once she started realizing how terrible her parents and belos really were, she pulled away extremely quickly.
willow - slytherin
not surprising, if you take into her account of self-preservation and bending of the rules to suit her ambitions. in the first episode she agrees to cheating just to get ahead in school because she wants to make her parents proud, and in the end she switches to the plants track so to her the ends justify the means. she pulled out of the grudgby game when luz pushed her & gus too far, a perfect example of that self preservation. she has a sense of loyalty that extends to very specific people but she always makes sure those people are taken care of. her parents, luz, gus, and eventually king, eda, and amity, too. she wouldn’t die for them, but she would kill for them.
gus - hufflepuff
sure, he has the ravenclaw curiousity and thirst for knowledge, but he’s very kind, hard working, has a strong inner sense of justice and fairness, and is tolerant of others. he helps mattholomule even if he’d been a jerk before because it was unfair if he didnt. he helps luz break into belos’s castle to find a cure for eda, lets luz borrow his library card to see amity, and hated it when mattholomule tried to lie about the human objects. he knows what it feels like to be left behind and underestimated, so he makes an effort to be kind to others who seem to be in the same boat. he’s very young but already so accomplished which is a testament to how hard he works.
hunter - hufflepuff
this one was HARD. it was either slytherin or this, and a deciding factor for this is the fact that he is self-sacrificing. he sacrifices a lot for other people, even if it doesnt seem like it. in the palisman episode, he sacrifices the palismen getting away despite knowing he would be punished for returning empty-handed. in eclipse lake, he leaves to find the titans blood for belos when he simply could have stayed in the castle and been safe. he’s viciously hard-working, dedicated, and loyal to his family. he lets people’s actions speak for them. he doesn’t immediately judge luz for using wild magic and actually seems interested in it before remembering to be loyal to belos. he’s patient, too, as seen by his interactions with luz. he gets frustrated, sure, but he still works with her. he’s modest about his rank and title, preferring to not flaunt it more than needed. but he does take pride in it. he’s kind in his own way, specifically to belos and lil rascal, but you can see it in his interactions with amity & luz, too. with amity, he empathizes with her and gives her advice that he thinks is true, and offers to dig a grave for her too when its apparent that neither of them are getting any titans blood. with luz, he gives up the palismen and protects her from kikimora. that boy is a hufflepuff for sure.
raine - gryffindor
oh buddy theyre the biggest gryffindor ever. they extremely, extremely brave. they have terrible stage fright and anxiety but they still became head bard, and they still ran an underground resistance group, and they still gave everything up just to help eda. they have a strong sense of whats right and whats wrong and incredible amount of passion, empathy, and integrity. they have a great sense of pride— “How did someone with stage fright end up as Head Witch?” “I’m just that good.”— and are very selfless. they stopped eda from sacrificing herself because they knew her kids needed her more, they sacrificed themselves in eda’s place and gave up everything they had just so eda wouldnt have to.
camila - hufflepuff
she’s extraordinarily kind, even when she’s terrified. she’s accepting and open-minded and hardworking, making sure to show luz that she loves her creativity but still wants to make sure luz can do well in school and can make friends. sometimes you can do something you think is kind but isnt really. she’s also a single mother doing her best to give her daughter a good life, which is a credit to how hard she works and how dedicated she is to her daughter. she even took the day off of work to drive luz to camp because she knew luz was anxious and wanted to reassure her. she’s patient with luz, and even when faced with the scariest moment of her life, she’s still thinking of how luz feels rather than her own fears and anger. she’s very much a hufflepuff in the way that she’s quiet and unassuming but fiercely protective of her family.
vee - slytherin
she’s opportunistic and has a sense of self-preservation. she’d rather save her own skin than do that right thing. she’s cunning, having pretended to be camila’s daughter just to have a place for herself. this isnt a bad thing at all, though. she’s also loyal to camila, who she sees as her family, and even got into a fight with luz over how she treated camila. she still listened to luz and let luz help her so that vee could remain living as luz. she doesnt feel guilty about valuing herself ahead of luz.
belos - ravenclaw
honestly? not a hard decision. he’s smart, sure, but he’s not people-smart. he didnt think lilith would betray him after he admitted to lying about healing eda. he doesnt understand loyalty, not even to those close to him. he’s rational and logical rather than emotional. if the theory that he is philip wittebane is to be believed, then its obvious he has an appreciation for learning and knowledge. belos distinctly reminds me of lockhart, or even quirrell, who were also in ravenclaw. he’s got an arrogance to him that blinds him, believing himself to be the smartest and strongest witch on the isles and thus underestimating others, which will only lead him to ruin.

"Why are you wearing a bra?"
That was probably one of the weirdest questions Cordelia had ever asked you.
You turned around in confusion to look into the worried face of your girlfriend, who had climbed into bed and was now leaning over you,
"Why not?" You replied indifferently, even though you knew inwardly why she was confused.
"I uh- you never wear underwear under your pajamas," Cordelia explained as she brushed her own strand of hair from your face. You shrugged your shoulders.
"Lots of women do that," you said curtly, watching Cordelia narrow her eyes.
"Isn't that unhealthy or something like that?"
"Well I don't know," you muttered and looked away from her to stare at your bedside lamp.
"Google it, if you care."
You heard Cordelia sigh before reaching for your chin to force your gaze back to her.
"The only thing I care about is why you wear a bra now, you don't usually do that."
You rolled your eyes in annoyance.
"I can wear whatever I want. It's not a big deal. You- Delia, I'm really tired, okay? And I really don't feel like talking to you about what's under my pajamas."
Cordelia didn't answer and just looked at you for a few seconds. You hated it when she did that. Simply because you could never read that look and you never knew what was going on in her head.
Of course you had a reason you left your bra on, but you never would have wanted to tell Cordelia about it, simply because it was a very sensitive topic ... Self-love was weird. You always found, that you were someone, who had a lot of love to give, but strangely enough, it was never enough for yourself.
Usually you were in tune with your body, you accepted it and sometimes you even found yourself beautiful. But then there were days when all it took was a judgmental look, that suddenly made you feel ugly. You just wanted to be invisible and as small as possible on those days, but unfortunately, that was impossible because everything about you was so big. Your legs, your breasts, your stomach ... just big. Too big for your taste.
Those days you wanted nobody to see you. You couldn't even look at yourself without wanting to cry. Beauty was just a stupid illusion, like normally looking at yourself through a filter and then there were those days when that filter was suddenly gone and you saw reality. It was gross and definitely not a topic you liked to talk about.
And today was one of those days. And you'd just wanted to keep your stupid bra on, because it made you feel safe and you hoped to  hide your body under it. Although the whole thing was ridiculous, Cordelia was your girlfriend and had seen you naked so many times and besides, she was the last person who would judge you, you knew that. Unfortunately, the problem these days wasn't just, that you looked ugly.. Another problem was that Cordelia, the perfect Cordelia, could see you. And those days you just couldn't understand why she was wasting her time on you of all people.
"Of course you can wear whatever you want, I didn't mean to make you feel insecure," she said suddenly and pulled you out of your thoughts about your own ugliness. Your girlfriend leaned over to turn off your bedside lamp before leaning down and pressing her lips against your temple for a moment.
"Good night honey," she muttered.
You felt her lay down behind you before wrapping her arms around your waist. Bad idea.
Immediately you froze in her grip and inadvertently pulled in your stomach. For a few minutes the two of you lay there in silence, not realizing that you had been holding your breath, when Cordelia finally pulled back and switched the light back on.
"Okay, what's wrong?" She asked without sounding reproachful. You turned your head to her and saw, that she had leaned her back against the headboard.
God she was so beautiful it was almost a curse. The blonde angel curls that curled on her white nightgown. Her pure skin and then the brown eyes that glinted down on you with concern.
"Nothing is wrong," you mumbled as you sat up too, leaning against the headboard of the bed like her.
"I can see that something is", Delia replied and you tried to ignore her penetrating gaze by staring down into your lap.
"I am fine."
"You lie."
"I dont lie."
"Y / N, you are lying," Cordelia muttered, shaking her head.
"I thought we'd always be honest with each other."
You felt a little stitch in your chest when you heard her words, because she was right. Usually you always talked to her about the things that bothered you, just as she talked to you.
"I'm okay," you said, looking at her again to smile carefully.
"It's just .. you know, sometimes you have those days when all the disgusting comments, that people have ever made about you and that you have almost repressed crash into your brain and pull you down at the same time, don't you?" you asked and looked at her expectantly.
"I uh- actually not," Cordelia admitted honestly. You looked away from her again and shook your head. Of course she didn't know that. Cordelia looked so perfect and the things people said about you only applied to you, not to her.
"Is it again about that you are not a witch or what-?" Cordelia asked further.
"Jesus, no".
You nervously stared down at your fingers in your lap.
Actually, you would have told Cordelia about it, had you not only been so sensitive about this topic. It wasn't easy to admit how weak you actually felt in your body.
"Cordelia you are the supreme, you know everything anyway," you said desperately.
"That's really cute, honey, but I don't know everything and that's why I want you to talk to me, okay?"
Cordelia grabbed your hand and you just wanted to push it away. As if you with your strange body were worth for her touch.
You raised your eyes again to meet hers, which were filled with love.
Cordelia was your girlfriend and you loved her so much, that it was actually unfair that you were lying to her right now.
"It's my body," you said quietly. Unfortunately a little too quiet, because she couldn't hear you.
"What?", Delia asked confused as she ran her thumbs over the back of your hand. You swallowed and tried to blink away the tears that filled your eyes.
"My body, Cordelia," you said a little louder now.
"What's wrong with that?"
"Oh god".
You wanted to scream out loud, it was frustrating. It was obvious to you and you wondered if she was really that stupid or if she was just pretending to be.
"I just- I hate it, that's it," you finally hissed, lowering your gaze to your hand, which was still in hers. Cordelia's thumb, which had still rubbed the back of your hand lightly, stopped for a moment and you heard Cordelia let out a soft "Oh".
"Why don't you tell me that?" She asked in a low voice and you could hear the sadness in it.
"I don't know, it's complicated", you pinched the bridge of your nose with your free hand.
"It's not always like this, just some days."
"..and today is one of those days ?", added Cordelia and you nodded slowly.
"Oh honey" Cordelia sighed as she leaned forward to pull you into her arms, but you almost automatically jumped off the bed.
"Cordelia I- uhm .." you stuttered and crossed your arms over your chest.
"The problem isn't actually, that I hate myself on those days. You know, I'm always good enough for myself, but .."
You interrupted yourself and looked at Cordelia thoughtfully for a few seconds. It was actually ridiculous. You knew, that Cordelia chose you, even though she could have anyone. That meant that she still had to feel something for you. But for you it was just not understandable, simply because all you felt for yourself was hate. At least on days like this.
"But?" Repeated Cordelia, getting up from the bed to walk over to you, but still with enough distance.
"But you," you mumbled quietly without looking at her.
"You are so- i dont know, beautiful. And I'm so .. so ugly, I guess? You can see that it is kind of weird, right?"
You looked back at your girlfriend, which was a bad idea. Cordelia looked at you so sadly, that you immediately regretted telling her that. Actually, it was a stupid decision. It was much easier to live, when people thought you were happy in your body and now you had openly shown Delia how weak and vulnerable you actually were and that because of something you couldn't change. It was your body, the weird thing that you always had to carry around with you, even though you would like to lock it in your closet.
"You are beautiful, Y / N," Delia suddenly said firmly. But it felt like a lie. If your perception made you feel like you were ugly, then she could only lie.
"Cordelia, thats-" you started in a thick voice, but she interrupted you to repeat her words.
"You're beautiful."
The pain these words caused in you was indescribable.
On the one hand, that was what you wanted to hear. You were an woman, who needed a lot of confirmation. Yet on the other hand, you knew it was a lie. As if Cordelia had sinned when those words left her tongue.
"You .. you don't have to say this to make me feel better," you muttered and Cordelia shook her head.
"I'm not saying this to make you feel better. I'm saying this, because it's the truth. Y / N, you're beautiful and you have no idea how sad it makes me to see, that you can't understand this."
"I don't know," you sighed. "It's actually stupid."
"Oh yeah it's stupid, when you say you are ugly when you are actually so beautiful. You have to believe me, Y / N. I would never lie to you. And besides, if I found you unattractive, we wouldn't be here now."
Cordelia crossed her arms over her chest and looked at you again.
"Maybe you're just doing this out of pity," you said and immediately realized how stupid it all sounded.
"Pity?" Cordelia repeated with raised eyebrows and you just nodded.
The blonde took a step towards you and before you could react, she held your face between her hands.
"You are beautiful, Y / N," she repeated her words for the third time.
"You are so many things, but definitely not ugly. And even if you can't see that, you have to trust me, that I would never lie to you and I think, that you are perfect the way you are, do you understand?"
Your face was only a few inches from hers and you could look straight into her brown eyes. And while you couldn't really believe Cordelia's words, she was right: she definitely wasn't going to lie to you.
"Whenever you have one of those days,, I want you to come to me right away. I want us to work together, to make you feel good in your body and that you don't have to feel like you have to hide from me and therefore keep your bra on at night. You are so beautiful Y / N and you deserve to know, that's why I want you to talk to me about it, no matter how uncomfortable it is for you. I love you so much and I want you to be able to love yourself too. "
Cordelia was still staring at you and you noticed, that she hadn't blinked a single time while she was speaking. As if she knew what magic there was in her beautiful eyes.
"Okay," you finally mumbled and immediately her gaze relaxed.
"Thank you darling".
"You don't have to say thank you," Cordelia said, smiling gently.
"That you are beautiful is a fact and not a decision or an opinion."
"Thank you anyway, your words mean a lot to me."
You leaned over carefully to kiss her gently. Your hands fell on her hips while she still held your face in her hands.
"You are so so beautiful, honey," Cordelia whispered against your lips and repeated her words again as she ran her thumbs over your cheeks.
"Do you feel safe enough to finally take off your bra now?"
You pulled back and looked at her uncertainly for a moment.
"Only if you want and if you are fine with it," Delia added and you nodded slowly.
Cordelia smiled gently.
"Great". she muttered.
"May I-?"
She pointed to the corner of your nightgown and again you nodded slowly before you felt Delia carefully grabbing the hem of your nightgown to pull it over your head.
You could hear Delia throwing the nightgown on the floor next to you. Her cool fingers wandered behind your back to unhook your bra, which also slid to the floor.
"I love every inch of your skin, so please don't hide from me," Cordelia whispered as she put her hands on your hips and started rubbing your skin with her thumb.
"My beautiful girl."

“Injunnie!” you yelled at the confused boy standing a few meters away from you. He turned his head towards you and when his eyes met yours, they grew smaller as his smile grew bigger. He jogged over to you, placing a small kiss to your cheek before looking out over the lake.
“Why’d you tell me to meet you here?” he asked.
“So that I can give you an early Christmas present,” you said, pulling up a box from your bag with a sweet, pink ribbon tie on top of it.
Your boyfriend frowned, though his smile didn’t quite leave his lips. “Thank you, but why so early?”
“You’ll see,” you hummed, a grin spreading on your lips. He pulled the lid of the box off, placing it beside you two in the grass, and pulled out the gift - a pair of ice skates. But of course, Renjun had no idea what they were, being a pure-blood wizard and having grown up around nothing but wizards and witches. He looked up at you, seeming very confused. “They’re skates. For the ice.”
He looked back and forth between you and the frozen Great Lake a few times before speaking. “This ice?” You nodded. “Are we even allowed to go out on it?”
“Not sure, but how often does anyone walk around here anyway?” You shrugged.
“What am I even supposed to do with them?”
You laughed. “What do they look like?”
“Like a pair of very fluffy shoes? With knives on them?”
“Exactly! In wizard language, I guess you could say they are... Broomsticks that you can use to move quickly on the ice? And you can make pirouettes, and jumps, and-” You cut yourself off when you saw how at a loss of words the boy in front of you seemed. “Just put them on and I’ll show you!”
You both sat down by the lake and you pulled out a pair of skates for yourself, pulling them on and tying the laces before helping the confused Renjun put on his too. Once you were both set, you had to practically carry him over to the ice because, according to himself, he had lost all of his balance the moment he put on these “muggle-shoes from hell”.
Learning how to skate on a lake was different from the way you, and most muggles, learned to skate - in a rink where you could hold onto the rims on the side if you had a hard time standing by yourself. So Renjun had to learn the hard way. Or, well, it was tougher for you, as he leaned pretty much all of his weight on you as he tried to move forward.
“Hey, bend your legs!” you yelled between laughs as the sight of his first time on the ice was like watching Bambi. “Okay, okay. Let go of me and I promise it will get better.”
“Are you crazy?!” he yelled and tears were now leaving your eyes from laughing too much. “If I let go I will fall!”
“No, you won’t! Try it once, just remember to bend your knees!” You skated backward away from him, taking slow strokes to show him how to get forward. And it wasn’t pretty, but with some slow, trembling strokes he actually skated. “See? You’re doing well!”
You spent the next 15 minutes teaching him how to skate and get more comfortable on the ice. As you skated up and down the lake several times, he actually had wonderful growth and he soon looked like any other muggle.
“Some people go skating just for fun, and some people compete,” you told him when you took a small break, sitting down in the middle of the lake, completely forgetting about what would happen if anyone caught you.
“Compete? How?” he asked, his eyebrows furrowed.
“Either in sports that are kind of like quidditch, or in performances where you try to skate more prettily than your opponents.”
If he hadn’t looked confused yet, he sure was now. “Skate more prettily?”
You chuckled. “By doing jumps and spins and choreographies.” He nodded slowly, his eyebrows still close together. “Okay, let me show you.”
You stood up quickly and skated a few meters away from him. “Wait, you actually know how to do that?”
Without answering him, you picked up some speed and before you could even consider it, you landed a double axel. You managed to catch the look of amazement on Renjun’s face right as you made a double toe loop, landing it before skipping over to him again.
His eyes were wide and his mouth was hanging open, and you had to laugh. “I-I didn’t know- How did you do that?!”
“I used to be an ice princess,” you laughed. “I stopped right before I started attending Hogwarts, but it seems like my body still remembers how to do some of it.”
He stood up, coming close enough to you that he could cup your face in his hands. “Well,” He looked straight into your eyes. “you sure did look like a princess. A really pretty one.”
He pushed his lips onto yours to give them a short, sweet peck. And another. And another. Then, his pecks turned into more full kisses, his mouth moving against yours as if they were never meant to do anything else. One of your hands flew up to the back of his neck to push him (if possibly) closer, making a groan escape from the back of his neck.
The kisses were quick and made your knees weak, and your head spun because of the feeling aswell as the lack of oxygen. You pulled away from him for a few seconds to take a few short breaths, but his lips were back onto yours soon. You giggled at his eagerness and you felt him smile against you. You parted your lips once again to gasp for air, but again he hurried back to you.
“I- need- to- breathe!” you said between kisses, to which he pulled away. But only to shake his head.
“No, you don’t,” he hummed before kissing you again, making you roll your eyes at him but kiss him back. Because who were you to disoblige?

Love Isn’t Always On Time Part Thirty Eight
Previous Part | Next Part | Masterlist Notes: Not Beta-Read.  I hope everyone’s doing well :) Warnings: Canon-typical violence; some cursing Summary: I turned my head, looking through the glass to a feed of Bucky in a holding cell, strapped into a seat. He looked calm, settled, almost. Resigned.
Tumblr media
“Am I allowed to use a phone or what?” I asked Natasha as she led us down the hall toward a conference room. Natasha cast me a look over her shoulder, brow raised. “Why wouldn’t you be?” She asked. “You mean apart from the fact that we’re technically war criminals now?” I pointed out. “You can use a phone,” Natasha said, nodding me into a small phone room, “We’ll be down the hall.” Sam and Steve cast me curious looks and I mouthed ‘Wanda’. I hadn’t checked in with her in the last day and I wanted to keep her in the loop. --
“But do you think he did it?” Wanda pressed. I pursed my lips. I didn’t like talking about this now, I was sure the call was being monitored, but I wasn’t sure when we’d be able to. “No,” I said honestly, “But I also don’t know what happened when Steve went in to talk to him, we haven’t had a chance to talk about that. Things have been... Volatile. How are you doing over there?” I asked. Wanda hummed disinterestedly; I heard her shifting on the other end of the phone and imagined her wandering around the complex without much to do but train or watch tv or talk to Vision. Though, she did really like talking to Vision. “Fine, I guess. I’ve been keeping up with everything going on on the news. I wish I’d gone with you guys, I saw the chase.” “It’s safer for you to be at the complex for the time being,” I said, sitting on the edge of the desk in the phone room, resting one of my feet on the chair. “I know, I know,” Wanda grumbled. I smiled. “If you were here, you would’ve been nothing but the help you always are,” I tacked on. Wanda didn’t answer for a few moments, and when she did, she said, “I should get going. I can smell something weird coming from the kitchen.” “Weird how? Are you baking?” “No, I think it’s Viz.” “’Viz’?” I repeated, unable to keep the amusement from seeping into my voice. “Shut up,” Wanda muttered, “Be careful, and keep me updated.” “Will do. Bye,” I tacked on before hanging up. I sighed, looking down at the receiver before I set it back in the cradle. There was a pulsing headache pressing up behind my temples, the kind that made your head feel like it was going to explode if you blinked too hard. As badly as I wanted to flick the lights off and stay in the room to ride it out, I knew that that wasn’t an option. -- “Where’s Steve?” I asked Sam, sitting down beside him. Sam jerked his thumb over his shoulder to where Steve and Tony were talking in a conference room. It looked amiable enough... For now, at least. “That’s gonna be a good time,” I mumbled, sliding down in my seat. I turned my head, looking through the glass to a feed of Bucky in a holding cell, strapped into a seat. He looked calm, settled, almost. Resigned. I hated it, I almost wanted to see him with the spark in his eyes he had when he was on the run before. I shook my head, resting my head in my hands and resting my elbows on the table. “You alright?” Sam asked lightly. “Headache,” I mumbled. I jumped at the sound of Steve barging into the conference room, the glass door slamming into the table. “Wanda alright?” He asked. There was a fire behind his eyes that I hadn’t seen before. “I-- She’s fine. What’s wrong?” I asked. “Tony’s got her confined to the goddamn compound and she doesn’t even know it. She doesn’t know she can’t leave,” Steve grumbled, resting his hands on his hips as he paced. “What?” Sam asked. “He’s got Vision babysitting her,” Steve tacked on, stopping by the tv in the conference room. It was broadcasting the news, still, muted. Sharon came in a few moments later, passing Sam a slip of paper. “Receipt for your gear,” She said. Sam scanned it, frown deepening to a scowl. “’Bird costume’? Come on.” “I didn’t write it,” Sharon excused. She glanced around before she reached out, tapping the phone and changing the television feed to Bucky’s interrogation. I glanced back at her, giving her a grateful smile before turning by eyes to the screen. “I'm not here to judge you. I just want to ask you a few questions... Do you know where you are, James?... I can't help you if you don't talk to me, James,” The doctor’s voice crackled through the screen. “My name is Bucky,” Bucky’s retort was firm, flat. He wasn’t saying any more than he absolutely had to. Steve sighed, turning to the file that Sharon had given us earlier and flipping it open, looking over the picture of Bucky that had been released to the public. “... Why would the Task Force release this photo to begin with?” He asked, setting the file back down. “Get the word out, involve as many eyes as we can?” Sharon offered. “Right. It's a good way to flush a guy out of hiding. Set off a bomb, get your picture taken. Get seven billion people looking for the Winter Soldier.” “You're saying someone framed him to find him.” “Steve, we looked for the guy for two years and found nothing,” Sam argued. "We didn't bomb the UN. That turns a lot of heads,” Steve pointed out. “...Yeah, but that doesn't guarantee that whoever framed him would get him. It guarantees that we would,” Sharon concluded. I frowned, turning my attention back to the screen, a chill running through me as the doctor went on, “Tell me, Bucky. You've seen a great deal, haven't you?“ “Where’s Bucky being held?” I asked, looking back at Sharon. “I don’t wanna talk about it.” “Within the facility,” She reassured me. “You fear that… if you open your mouth, the horrors might never stop. Don't worry... We only have to talk about one.“ “Right, but how long would it take for us to get down there?” "Three minutes, maybe four--” As she said so, the power cut. “Sub-level 5, east wing,” Sharon tacked on before any of us could ask. We were up and out of the room without another word.
--
The headache was worse; the flashing red lights weren’t helping matters. I was having trouble focusing, but I kept my pace with Sam and Steve. When we reached sub-level 5 it was deathly quiet. Not a single walkie-talkie crackling, not the clack of a keyboard, nothing. There were people scattered, laying on the ground. I crouched beside one, checking their pulse; Steve checked another. He caught my eye and we both nodded. They were alive. “Help... Help me.” We caught the sound of the doctor’s voice nearby. Steve straightened, making his way into the room with long, steady strides and gripping the man by the collar. I glanced up and saw them move out of my sight line. “Keep an eye on them,” I nodded Sam into the room before I straightened up, looking around for any further sign of Bucky. No sooner had Sam left me than I heard the impact metal on concrete, the hydraulic hum of Bucky’s arm as he made to take another swing at Sam. “Shit,” I hissed, darting into the room as Sam was thrown and narrowly avoiding the kick aimed at me. I darted out of the way of the a punch thrown from his metal arm, then blocked on from his human one. “Bucky, stop--” I pleaded, trying to catch his eyes, but unlike that day on the river bank, there was no recognition there. He didn’t respond, he didn’t stop. For all of my training with Steve and Natasha, I wasn’t quick enough against Bucky. I managed to feint out of the way of a jab, only to be caught by an uppercut and be sent sprawling, head smacking against the wall on my way down. My vision went fuzzy, then dark. Good Tidings We Bring || Morgan & Nell
TIMING: The day after the solstice
PARTIES: @nelllraiser & @mor-beck-more-problems
SUMMARY: Are we out of the woods yet?
CONTAINS: soft witches, mention of sibling death
Morgan poured her energy into walking steady and holding her package without crinkling the paper or dropping it. She hadn’t been to this house in so long, all she remembered was that first time, coming to dinner and being so petrified that she would be accepted by the Vurals. That they would believe she had something to offer, that she was more than the awful things destined to follow her. Rejection, she was old friends with. The way it cut her was almost soothing. So she never would have dreamed walking up to the house unannounced, asking to be let back in. But Yule was the time of light in the dark, and the miracle of the world turning back to light. There was never going to be a ‘good’ time to try, so it might as well be now.
Morgan knocked, swallowing what little was left of her pride. When the door opened, the speech she prepared dissolved into one clumsy outburst, “I want us to be good again, can we please be friends?” She stuck out the present with both hands. “These are for you. A-and a few extra for your sisters, but mostly you. I mean, you’ll be able to tell, uhh…” It was all very undignified, but after everything Morgan had done, she didn’t figure dignity was something she was going to come by soon anyway.
Hard choices such as the attempted exorcism in lieu of torturing Constance were something of a familiarity to Nell at the time she’d made the decision to go against Morgan’s wishes. By then she’d learned well enough that sometimes the greater good came at the cost of your personal good, but that didn’t mean it had been easy to knowingly destroy the bond of her and the witch turned zombie. She’d been the villain in someone’s story before— willing to take on the burden of severed ties and judgmental words if it meant that there’d be less pain for others in the end. It never got easier, especially when the severance in question was someone like Morgan. So as she opened the door to a familiar face that had been long absent from the daily rotation of her life, she did her best to squish down the flare of hope that bubbled up, quickly replaced with worrisome apprehension. Thankfully that too was fleeting, and her initial faith was restored, eyes cautiously bright with the renewal of her initial reaction “You want to be...friends?” she asked tentatively, as if she wasn’t entirely sure what to make of Morgan’s jumbled words, feeling as if there was another shoe about to drop. Without thinking she reached out to accept the box that Morgan had brought, staring at it a touch too long. Was she meant to open it now? Or wait? Her momentary silence was less than intentional. Apparently where Morgan was struck with an inability to stop her words, Nell didn’t know where to begin her own. “I don’t understand- aren’t you upset?”
Morgan had replayed this conversation a lot in her head, most of them involving Nell interrogating her, or saying I told you so or asking for proof about her being really, really sorry and really understanding all the ways she might have been mistaken. She hadn’t thought that Nell’s question was about how she felt. Morgan looked at her, stunned and grasping at air now that she no longer had the present to cling to. “U-uh, well...I was. And, okay, I don’t think it was fair to lie to me. Doing what you think is right is one thing, but pretending to help is something different, but that’s just...not important right now. Or it’s not more important than you. And…” Morgan shrugged haplessly. “What I wanted didn’t even work out anyway. It was bad. I got all this stuff and I hated almost every part of it and yes, in retrospect, only having informed support from my evil friends should have been a tip off, but I just couldn’t. And Constance poltered anyway and people died because of that, which is also because of me and so, no, I don’t know exactly how I’m going to trust you like I did before knowing you can just casually do that, but I don’t want be so stuck in my pain that I destroy everything that’s important to me. So if you can...I don’t know,” Morgan shrugged. “If you feel like it’s not destroyed yet, I’d like to be the kind of friend that does more than just send you sad birthday presents. I’d like to try. And I’d…” For some reason this was the most difficult part of all. Morgan tried. I’d like to be a witch again. A witch without magic. A mundane witch, who burns too much incense and works her will with glorified mind tricks and normal people stuff. The kind I used to smirk at and feel sorry for. In the end, she couldn’t. “The rest doesn’t matter right now,” she said. Holding herself up with all the strength she had, she looked at Nell with hope. “But what do you say, Nell?”
Quick on the heels of Nell’s hopeful question was the memory of the sourness the conversation between herself and Morgan that had followed the failed exorcism held, the bitterness of it still lingering in her mouth despite the sweetness that was trying to cut through the ugly sensation. Following behind that was the anger that had filled her when the news of the Common had broken— the knowledge that Constance had killed again and that this time it had been seven lives taken, and that Blanche had been caught in the crossfire as well. How could Morgan have let it come to that? You don’t know me at all, do you, Nell? It had been written to the younger witch after their initial fallout, and for a moment Nell wondered whether the words were truer than she’d thought at the time. How could she be surprised about the deaths and injury that had come to pass and still claim to know the woman that stood before her? Stars, Nell, you are the closest thing I have to family right now besides Deirdre. Family didn’t always know every inch of one another, and that was a lesson she’d learned well when Bea had died, a lesson all her sisters had learned. And then Nell had learned it again when she’d been kicked from the coven, her family ripped out from beneath her feet. But Morgan had been there. Morgan Beck, the woman who was saved from the choice of whether or not she’d follow the coven’s decree by the grace of literal death and her subsequent separation from the witches. She was family that Nell couldn’t afford to lose after having the rest of it already taken. Morgan Beck who Nell was certain wouldn’t have followed the demands of the coven and their banishment of the Vural daughters even if she hadn’t been the victim of a family curse. The same curse that had brought them to this exact moment in time that had Nell fiddling with the paper of Morgan’s gift that was still held between Nell’s uncertain hands.
“I don’t think it’s destroyed,” Nell answered in a tone that was surprisingly quiet in lieu of the jumble of emotions that were avalanching through her chest. She swallowed hard a single time, trying to make sense of the words floating in her head, all of them demanding to be spoken at once, but struggling to pluck them from the churning sea of what she wanted to say, what she should have said, and what she was going to say now. “I just- I’m not a fixer, Morgan. Not when it comes to people,” she finally managed to settle on, voice trembling with the effort to try and contain the dull tones of her sadness, the heat of her former anger, and frustration of being unable to find the medium between them. “I’m really fucking shitty at it. I never know what to say, or how to talk about things without getting upset again.” Even now she could feel the beginnings of her temper being dampened by the knowledge that whatever she was feeling about the situation, Morgan was most likely experiencing it ten-fold— the love she still held for the zombie making the witch unwilling and unwilling to dole out any more pain onto her. “I...I want to try, though.”
“...You...you dont?” Morgan repeated Nell’s words slowly in case she’d misheard. The young witch was so uncharacteristically quiet, she couldn’t be sure. She stayed clenched, feeling her impending disappointment hanging over her like a pendulum in a horror show. She’d done shitty things, and the earth didn’t judge or get angry, but people did and had every right to. Nell especially. But then she spoke again.
“You can be upset with me,” Morgan said softly. “I uh...I did a lot to be upset about. And you don’t have to... I don’t know if there’s such a thing as a ‘fixer’, you know? It’s not a box you get sorted into or not. You just learn and you try and maybe it happens faster for some people than others and--” She reached out her hand, fingers contracting and flexing as she tried to gauge whether she could, should, touch her. “We can just take it a little bit at a time and uh…” She sniffled and smiled bravely. “Can I hug you? Real question. N-no is super understandable. But--” It would be great if she could. It would feel like forgiveness even if she wasn’t yet. “Can I? Is that weird?”
“No...no, I don’t,” Nell affirmed, thinking of all the times she’d lost friends and counted them long gone, not at all accustomed to getting a second chance, but willing to take it and hold it tight nonetheless. “And you can be upset with me,” she quickly echoed, knowing things wouldn’t instantly be right. The witch’s shoulders relaxed, sagging in the slightest as Morgan did what she always did— somehow always having the perfect and right words for the situation and Nell’s self-consciousness. “Well then...I guess we can try, right?” She watched as Morgan’s hand opened and closed like a door in front of her, offering Nell a way in should she want to take it. Uncertainly she reached for the offered touch, using it as a way to pull Morgan into the hug she’d asked for. Her arms were softer around the zombie’s shoulders as she embraced her, still tired and sore from her less than comforting ventures at Neveah’s demon mansion the night before but holding on despite it. “I don’t think it’s weird,” she mumbled. Perhaps it was a little stiffer than their hugs had been in the past, but if this was the form the peace offering was taking, Nell wouldn’t be the one to shove it away. “Did you wanna come in? I actually have a present for you, too.”
Morgan clung to Nell as tight as she dared. They fit so easily against each other, head to head and hand to hand. The movement wasn’t fluid or effortless, but Morgan could almost feel the energy that still existed between them, flowing in and around, back and forth until it could reach some kind of equilibrium. Nell still wanted her in her family. She might be the only Vural to think so, but she was the only one that mattered.
“Come in?” She repeated, lifting her head from Nell’s shoulder. “Are you sure? I mean, that it would be okay--?” She tried to peer into the house, waiting for Bea or Luce or some spectre of guilt to pop out and declare that she wasn’t allowed to come inside at all, ever, and furthermore, she had no business asking forgiveness from Nell or anyone else. But no one came out to spoil the moment, and Morgan didn’t have enough fear or sense to turn away from Nell’s offer. “But I do. Want to. You didn’t have to get me anything though.” She pulled away, sniffling as she smiled. “But thank you, Nell. Really, really. Thank you.”
Nell bit down her lip as Morgan squeezed, trying to swallow the pang of pain that surfaced as Morgan’s arms unintentionally found the bruises and cuts she hadn’t healed from her and Adam’s continued infiltration of Ma’al’s demon cult. Those in visible places were always safely healed away, but the ones beneath her clothes and long sleeves were kept in secret. After all, Nell had to save every ounce of strength she had for what happened within the mansion’s hellish walls. But she also needed to keep unwanted questions at bay, unwilling to have her friends tangled in the mess she’d thrown herself into. Brushing away the darker thoughts of her current affairs, she pulled back to focus on Morgan, letting the brightness of the zombie’s face and their renewed friendship brush those shadows away. “Of course I’m sure,” she insisted, confidence re-entering her voice. “If I wasn’t, I wouldn’t have offered. And I know I didn’t have to, but I wanted to.” Nell gave Morgan’s hand a last squeeze before moving to tug the other woman over the threshold of the home, leading her to the living room where she’d kept the gifts she was planning on giving. “It’s this one,” she began as she handed Morgan a carefully wrapped package, her nerves returned for this moment as she hoped she’d gotten this right.
Morgan took a moment to look at the gift. If it wasn’t so wildly inappropriate, she would get out her phone and take a picture of it, so she could always remember the care that her friend had shown her, the love she didn’t deserve made visible in a carefully tied ribbon and a full package. She wanted to remember that care like this still existed. That even after doing some of the worst things she’d ever attempted, someone like Nell still wanted to give to her. But she would have to settle for her memory and hope that a hundred years or more down the line, she would be able to see Nell and this gift just like this. “Should we open them at the same time?” She asked, taking the package from Nell. “That’s how we did it at home when I was a kid. I’ll be careful with the ribbon. at least. It’s all so pretty…” She smiled sheepishly, moved and almost embarrassed by how much this meant to her. She nodded to Nell to indicate go and tore into the wrappings.
The first thing she saw were the Yule smudge sticks, so potent that she caught a whiff of cinnamon and pine. It was like the Yules from her childhood all over again, when they hung freshly cut firs and holly from every door and entryway. When the tapers ran down the sides in gothic, runny clumps, and the candlelights flickered and their shadows leapt along the wall like pixies in flight. It was everything. Underneath: vials of bath salts, colored in cleansing tones and filled with herbs that symbolized renewal, a fresh start to wash away the hurt that still stuck to her. And beneath that-- “Oh, Nell,” Morgan gasped. “How did you know? About any of this? I haven’t told anybody…” Her eyes filled up again. “After everything happened I went to Strawford Cemetery and tried to do a chord removal. I know it’s all like, jedi mind tricks, but I swear I felt lighter and I felt...something. Not a live energy something, but a connection to something. And I know you’ve been trying to tell me this all along, but I actually feel it now…” She clutched the package to her chest, gripping with all her might. “I want to be as much of a witch as I can be. I want to belong here, and put out things that...help, even a little. And that’s vague and dopey and I haven’t figured out anything more specific yet, but I just want you to know why this means so much. Thank you.”
Nell unwrapped her own gift with much less delicacy than Morgan opened her’s, the still present nervous energy making her a little overeager as she tore into the pretty packaging. She almost forgot to look at her own gift as she heard Morgan’s reaction to the present she’d been gifted, but her attention was easily re-captured by the crafting tools inside the box, instantly recognizing them for what they were. The hoops, twine, and other assorted supplies tugged at some place between her heart and gut, nostalgia gripping her as she counted a set of three. One for her and each of her sisters. “For wreaths and Yule!” Morgan had to have known this would be the girls first season without their family and coven, and given them something to do together in response, no doubt truly understanding the gravity of the girls’ situation and the way it seemed to stifle the usual traditions of the holiday. The cocoa supplies and taki bags beneath it all were obviously meant solely for the youngest witch, and Nell touched the gifts with a thoughtful hand, still in slight disbelief that Morgan was even here in the first place. “Thank you, Morgan. I- well, I love all this.” But what she loved most of all was that Morgan had wanted to give her a gift in the first place.
“I didn’t necessarily know,” Nell continued, still unable to shake the last of the nerves that had settled around her and Morgan. That would be normal though, right? They’d said they wouldn’t turn back into place at the drop of a hat. “I know it’s not anything remotely the same as you, but after the stuff that I went through well- I could only begin to imagine what you might have felt, and even though I didn’t lose my magic, I know that I would have still wanted my family after it. And everything I grew up with and stuff. Even if I...hated it at first.” That’s why Nell had grouped the witchy books under the bath salts and Yule sticks wanting to return them to Morgan long after the witch had lied and said she’d handed them over to Nisa and the coven. “It’s not vague and dopey,” Nell instantly rebutted. “We- we need it too, you know. Need another witch here.” Their mother’s coven was long gone out of their lives, but perhaps they could make a little one of their own. Looking down at her present, Nell waited a moment before making another offer. “You know- you could always make them with us. I could call Bea and Luce and see if they can come right now.”
“Yeah! I figured, something all of you can do together might, you know…Nothing’s going to make things like they were before, but they can still be good. And maybe this new turn of the wheel will be better too.” Morgan said, gushing with relief now that her gesture had been accepted. “But I didn’t want you to have to share your whole gift, that’s lame, right? So hopefully you can use them to enjoy the rest of your day, or any other traditions you get to do, or just, you know, cozy time to yourself. You do still get time like that, right? Anyway, I’m glad you like it…” She trailed off, uncertain how to proceed.
At Nell’s insistence that she consider herself another witch around, that she should stay with them for the day, Morgan’s eyes watered again. “O-oh, I don’t… I meant these for you and your sisters, and you should have your special time together, and I don't want to be the reason anyone…” Doesn’t come. Leaves you alone during yuletide. Morgan shrank back, out of the doorway, her bright smile only a little weighted by sadness. “But I do, want to be around. Maybe after the regular new year? I’m just gonna be traveling, for my birthday, as it turns out. But still-- I’d like to. Just, you know, not at the risk of making things weirder or harder after everything I’ve done…” Her resolve gave way for a second and she dove back to Nell for another swift press of a hug before ducking out the doorway again. Maybe for Imbolc we’ll have a big cleaning party together, huh?”
Nell nodded with a half-sad smile, unable to pretend as if the loss of her coven didn’t sting at the mere mention or thought of it. Still— Morgan’s comforting words were more than welcome, and brought back a trickle of warmth to drive out some of the cold and drafty winds of the hole left where her family had been. “Thank you, Morgan. I know you’re right.” Unfortunately, the knowledge that new and good things would come didn’t always help to lessen the wounds of the past. That would take time if such wounds could ever be truly healed. “And yeah- of course I’ve always got time for hot chocolate.” The brief answer was an easy enough way to brush away the real answer of her having been far too busy with the twisted rituals and gatherings of the cult amongst the other day to day problems of White Crest that claimed her attention.
Morgan’s reluctance to join in the festivities wasn’t all that surprising, and Nell didn’t feel the need to push it at a moment like this. It was probably for the best if they wanted room to breath and return to normal or create whatever their new ‘normal’ would look like. “Oh shit, well- I hope you have a good trip. You’ll have to tell me about it when you get back, obviously.” There was a flare of jealousy in Nell as she offered Morgan the well wishes, remembering her own travels around the world before she’d returned to White Crest. She doubted she’d ever experience something like that again, not when there were so many things and people tying her to White Crest now. “We’ll figure it out, though. With all of us. And then we can do that big cleaning party with some midnight margaritas, and maybe even make some Brigid crosses.” As she headed with Morgan back towards the front door of the home, Nell held the zombie’s present to her chest, the anger that had gripped her earlier finding a temporary solace that let her enjoy the bond that had been restored on this day. No doubt it’d return when they had to speak of things less pleasant than travel and parties and gifts. But for now, she could simply enjoy the hopefulness buzzing within as she leaned against the doorframe, giving her farewell. Finally, she would relax in the knowledge that it wouldn’t be their final one. “I’ll see you later, Morgan.”

It's about time I introduced you to the cast of The Crackin'-Up Studios. Don't worry. You'll be seeing them again, especially in the mini-comics!
**In order from top to bottom, left to right**
Billie Bob Willie-Nillie Black Sheep: The overall face of The Crackin'-Up Studios itself. She is the ring leader to the whole circus. The pilot to all the flight attendance. The manager to a corporate office. You get the whole idea. She's one poppin' fire-cracker (A.K.A. has a short temper) that's all for the business, but doesn't mind getting silly from time to time. On screen, she is the definition of unpredictable and crazy, fun and silly. She's a gun happy country gal that started off small and came out big with her talents for making people laugh. She worked hard to get her way to the top. And all of it has obviously paid off. If someone was to use words to describe her, it would be fun, loving, friendly, brave, courageous, generous, the list could go on and on. This gun-loving  little lady, no matter where she goes, always somehow seems to change people's lives. And for the better.
Poochie Pooh Poodle: Billie's partner-in-crime. Her bestest friend since her younger years. Her ride or die buddy. Poochie is the main co-star to the series, and a serious eye-candy to men. While Billie is featured as the funny, wacky, unpredictable, quirky character on-screen of the trio, Poochie is often featured as the sex-appeal. The sex symbol. The hot mama. She also models as a little side job whenever necessary. She's the sweetest sweetie-pie you will ever meet in your life. However, proceed with caution. When provoked, she's one sassy gal and won't hesitate to give you a mouthful (and probably a gun wound) if you mess with her, or her friends.
Wolfie Blackfang Wolf: What's the three musketeers without a male in the picture? Wolfie may not have known these two women as long as they've known each other, but their his closest family he's ever had since he left the orphanage. He is also the main co-star to the series, accompanied by being the musical genius of the three. Since a young boy, Wolfie has practiced music as not only his hobby, but his life. His alluring ability was able to trap the young black sheep and poodle in a trance on a fateful night in a club where he worked to try and make a living, thus landing him a job and a ticket to materialization through the ladies. From there, he has always acted as the stud of the three, protecting them whenever they needed an extra hand and also charming women with his attractive voice along the way.
Candy Bat: This "monster", this "usually nocturnal creature of the night", this "mysterious shadow" is nothing but a sweet treat in the eyes of many who travel far and wide to Nightwalk Bay to get a taste of his sweet treats at the local candy shop. At least, that's what Billie, Poochie, and Wolfie will tell ya. Famous for his line of business, Candy Bat is a harmless, humble candy man..err..bat that seeks nothing but to fill the mouths of the fortunate with a sweet after-taste. His delicious pastries, frozen desserts, and fizzy drinks aren't the only thing that appeals to the eyes of many. He's also a support character at The Crackin'-Up Studios during the day and a friendly (but hissy, due to his uncontrollable excited hisses whenever he meets someone new and/or is excited) candy shop-keeper at night.
Scratches: Whoa, watch out for that web! There's a BIG spider up there! And his name is none other than Scratches, yet another support cast character for The Crackin'-Up Studios. When in the presence of my six-armed friend, be cautious. Scratches loves the ladies and will go through extreme lengths to entangle you in his web, if he deems you a worthy enough mate. Don't worry fellas, he doesn't swing that way. Though..spider's gotta eat, right? What? Spiders only eat insects? Not this playful, flirtatious one. Note that this spider is dead, and has been ressurrected after a deal made by Ozzan (scroll down to reference Ozzan's bio). Therefore, Scratches likes human flesh too. Dont worry too much though. He's too busy chasing both Poochie and Billie around the studios, trying to declare his love for them. Though...something about a huge demon spider just..turns those two ladies off.
Honey Hyena: As the name implies, this hyena is sweet as honey! Raised on a bee farm, this little lady never expected to end up being a supporting cast character to The Crackin'-Up Studios. That was, until a little Black Sheep mozied on over and decided to offer her the position and the materialization process just like everyone else. She figured the nice lady would need the money boost besides "Milkin' bees all day long" - Billie. Honey loves bees. In fact, on her days off from woking at the studios, that's all she does! Is work, work, work at her long-descended family bee farm, making honey and selling it for some dough (money) as a side job. She is also the motherly figure to all the cartoon ladies on set and often tries to share her knowledge with them in hopes she can help guide them on the right path. I mean, not everyone is perfect, right?
Bon Isabell Bunny: Daughter of a long deceased magician (who was, ironically a white bunny), she has seeked to find more support by becoming a supporting cast character to the TV series. However, though, she wasn't looking to be a supporting character when offered the job by Billie Bob. Bon has a bit of a...strong hatred for Billie Bob. Bon saw how much love and respect the black sheep got, even from her "enemies". So, what does this tempered (its just as bad as Billie's, trust me), quick-to-anger, grumpy gal do? Well, it's like they say, "Kill the sheep, take her wool!". That is...if she could catch her first. Forever caught in this game of cat-and-mouse on screen and off screen, Bon decided to settle into this position for now. Hopefully one day, her magic tricks and traps can pay off and actually earn her a spot in the lead position.
Bon Iseah Bunny: Twin brother to the other Bon Bunny, this bunny seems the complete opposite of his sister. This magic bunny doesn't mind being a supporting cast character, and instead enjoys making others smile with her magic tricks and qurkiness. After all, its what his deceased magician father would have wanted. He admires Billie and everything that she does not only for everyone else, but herself. He just hopes with time, his sister can see that. For now, this calm bunny will just have to play as yin to his sister's yang (A.K.A., trying his best to calm her in her most stressed and ferocious moments).
Molly Cow: Before her rise to fame as another member of The Crackin'-Up Studios crew, Molly Cow, the half-pig half-cow offspring, could not keep a job to save her life! She was lazy, less focused, often slacking or ducking off, and/or giving up before she even set foot in the door! The funny thing is, she wouldn't care, and just go back to living with her parents. Seeing as though Molly's confident and care-free attitude was a necessity to bring on some laughs, all Billie had to do was offer a hand to the voluptuous, intriguing young woman and for some odd reason, this cartoon has managed to keep the job ever since. Side note, if you ask her what her "other" job would be whenever she brings it up, it would be shopping. She is ALL about the fashion!
Malachi (formerly known as "Michael Jamesking"): Yes, Malachi is actually an angel. AND, he is also a featuring asset to the team whenever needed. With the help of one of Veronica's potions (scroll down to reference Veronica's bio), he has the ability to shrink down to size on command. He also is a good line of defense if life-threatening danger ever be-falls the company, for even if he is a judgement angel, he is considered very powerful against a mortal (unless demon weapons are used against him). He is pure, friendly, and kind, however, you must not associate yourself with the presence of evil upon first meetings. He IS a jugement angel after all and will be quick to judge you and shame you for your choice of sin and avoid you like the plague while also be-littleing you. Ironically, the only exception to this treatment is Ozzan (his best friend in all universes) and Bendy (in the head-canon canon universe). Also note, Malachi was never always Malachi. Malachi was once Michael, a regular, normal, working business man who unfortunately got hit by a car on his morning rush to work.
Ozzan: Oh boy. This one's a bad one. If you thought Scratches (scroll up to reference Scratche's bio) was bad, wait until you get a load of this one! This foul-mouthed, ill-mannered, obnoxious, flirtatious pervert is somehow a necessity to The Crackin'-Up Studios. His crude sense of humor and anctics tend to get a good laugh out of adults more than oblivious children. He will flirt with anything, sleep with anything, hell even risk catching some sort of SEXUAL DISEASE for anything that has legs. This man lives, breathes, and embraces everything that is bad at every cost, every time. Its possibly why he was so close to Lucifer (the Devil) back when he was in Hell. Though, take caution. If you piss him off (which isn't really hard to do), he WILL tear you to bits and peices with his bare fists. Also, beware of tentacles and trendils ladies. He has them everywhere and can use them not only in battle, but also for...other things. So beware and..make sure your doors are locked.
Veronica Bat: Born "Daddy's Little Monster", Veronica is the daughter of Candy Bat and Valentine Naxxremis (formerly Bat)(She will be referenced in the next ref). For most of her life, she has lived with her mother and embraced her witch-hood, which usually ends up with the little gloom and doom bookworm getting bullied for being a "half-breed". However, her luck gets turned around when she meets Billie Bob (like a lot of these people's do) who helps instill in her to be happy to be herself and to screw what everyone else says..and to also get back at them at all costs. She looks up to Billie and Poochie as her "Aunties", though, has trouble getting along with her father. She was raised to believe she had left her and her mother and never really loved them. Which, is obviously not true, but, she has a hard time believing that. Once welcomed to the cast, Veronica is a huge hit with the goth little teen girls who aspire to be like her: beautiful and mysterious. Let's just hope she gets he powers under control first, for she struggles with that a great deal on screen for comical effect and off screen.
Patricia Greene Pig: (A/N: She probably has had the MOST change out of all of them, so beware) Patricia is Delloris's (scroll down for Delloris's bio) bestest friend since childhood. Snobby, rude, sassy, class. All of these combined makes her perfect for scenes where she's the girl that thinks she's too good for the male trying to win her heart. Likes are, their only trying to "woo" it for her money. Oh, did I mention she's very wealthy? Her and Delloris aren't friends for nothing. You have to have some sort of status when it comes to getting in goods with the mayor's one and only daughter. Also note that Patricia is an EXTREME germo-phobe and will pelt you down with germ-x if you've so much as TOUCHED an un-sanitized door knob.
Hank Kat: Hank Kat has been an aspired musician since he was a little boy. He has really known the struggles of what it's like to be broke from both of his poor parents. So, as a way to raise some money, he went out on the streets and played his father's old rusty trumphet for some pocket change. Crowds were so awed at his talent, before long, Hank was hitting the clubs to try and win over some cash to take care of his parents once he became of age. Similar to Wolfie, Poochie had just so happened to stumble upon him. Though they didn't exactly see eye-to-eye due to species war, they were able to put their differences aside the night they had spent together, dancing the night away. As they danced, Poochie would listen to this party-goer's story and become sympathetic for the poor fellow. Thus, she figured his wallet could be fed a little more and thus offered for him to be a support character on the team. With his toe-tappin', feed stompin', hand wavin; jams that he can play on trombone, trumphet, pretty much just about any instrument he could blow into, he would become not only a major asset to the supporting cast, but also the music, both at his day job at the studios and his night job in the clubs.
Puncho: This "unstoppable brick wall" can take a punch and also pack it. After all, they don't call him "Puncho" for nothing! Though he's not much of fan favorite unless it comes to his famous boxing episodes, Puncho is a well-served supporting cast in the crew. He's often seen alongside his partner, Scraps Skunk (scroll down for Scrap's bio), no matter what the situation. He has a temper just like Billie, girl Bon, and Ozzan, however, instead of unleashing it by yelling at coworkers and throwing large objects (Billie), chasing someone down the hall with a chainsaw (Girl Bon), or spewing a bunch of curse words that's enough to make a sailor blush (Ozzan), he lets out his steam in the ring. He is the undefeated champion (if you don't count his and Billie's first brawl in one of her posters) within the boxing ring and anyone who dare wants to challenge him in taking his belt, well. Better be prepared for the pain. Bring a lot of ice.
Scraps Skunk: A timid, shy soul who is pure and good at working the ring as a referee. He plays fair though, he always will support his bestest friend, Puncho no matter what. His often scared, frightened, shaky attitude is welcomed on screen whenever needed. He was often bullied through his childhood and unlike those who have toughed up from it, he only seemed to soften. Hell, even Billie has chewed him out for his overly push-over nature. Though, she gives up. For nothing can change this poor man's soft heart and kind ways.
Wallis Moose: What else to say about this guy besides him obviously being a horrible detective? After his first appearance as one in one of Billie's episodes, Wallis fell in love with the idea of being one and even off screen, tries to solve "mysteries" wherever he is needed. However, he always slips up short and makes himself to be a fool. How did he even earn a spot on the team? Well, to put it simple, Wallis is a stone cold, hard drunk. He drinks and drinks and drinks, and when he's hiccuping and stumbling all over the place, Billie couldn't help but find it amusing the first time they met. After all, the first night they met, they both danced drunkinly through the streets of Nightwalk Bay, where they somehow met. As kooky as it sounds, it actually happened. Believe me.
Chico Georgina Chick: This once poor broken flapper was able to leave her broken past of having to prostitute herself on the streets and go some nights starving behind. Coincidentally, Chico was given another opportunity at a better life by Hank Kat (scroll up for Hank's bio), who happened to run into her at one of the clubs and show her a much better life than what she was living by offering her a position at the studios and materialization through the machine. Now a re-born, classy lady, this former flapper...heh...well, let's be honest. Girl loves to party and dance like there's none tomorrow, is ready to bring all the club's joy and bump to the table on screen. Hank is often seen by her side, playing away on his trumphet while she dances on top of a table. Nothing too promiscuous or provocitive. Want to keep the adult's attention but not as much. She's known as the party girl out of the group and also knows a thing or two about fashion. Also, keep her as FAR away from Molly (scroll up for Molly's bio) as possible..they fight a lot.
Delloris Acorn: Delloris is the beloved daughter of the mayor of Toon City, within the alternate world where cartoons "live". Her mother died giving childbirth and though she never knew her mother. She was always expected to act lady-like and proper, is why she carries herself that way. Though, the day Billie met Delloris and her father and was allowed to spend the day with her, Billie turned her upside down and all around. To the point Delloris came home, dress cut into a tank-top, short short overalls, knee-high socks, messy hair, and busted shoes. Billie's excuse was they were pig wrestling (no pun intended Patricia). Her father was awfully upset and almost demanded Billie to be arrested, however, Billie's sly deal to offer Delloris a spot at the studios was the only thing that saved her from some jail time. Now, while away from her rich and perfect life as the mayor's "little princess", she's allowed to get down and dirty. Especially on screen where down and dirty are necessary for some laughs.
Mad Mouse (also known as "Maddison K Mouse"): Why is this mouse so quiet and mysterious? Why does he never speak or even take off his goggles? Wait, is this mouse even a "he" at all? Well, yes and no. To put a long story short, back in these days and times of the early 1900s, women weren't taken seriously. Even toon women. Born a genius, the only way to get people to notice her freakishly large brain talent is to disguise herself as a man and as to go as "Mad Mouse" instead of "Maddison Mouse". However, her little secret couldn't be kept that long, for an incident in her labs caused her to lose part of her disguise and have to come clean to Billie, Poochie, and Wolfie. It was through them who helped her realize that, no matter who you are, your voice deserved to be heard no matter what. From that point on, this support cast member decided to cease wearing the disguse and be her actual self. Though, I wouldn't mess with this quiet little genius. She's a little...mad (crazy), as the legends and cartoons portray her as.

Harry Hook x Reader Imagine “Trust Me” Pt. 1
Harry hook imagine
Authors note: Again I take requests on any fandoms I’m always free just ask away! This wasn’t requested but I thought about it haha :)
Also the part where you start with “I’m the girl who loves my island” is basically a passage from the reprise song that Moana sings in the movie Moana and I thought it’d be nice to include lol
Also i split this into two parts (maybe even three) because tumblr says its too long ;-;
Summary: You are the daughter of Moana and after the events of its going down you are left behind on the isle to fend for yourself. You run into Harry Hook who will end up being your best chance on getting out and along the way you will learn more about each other and grow closer in relationship.
MAJOR WARNING: BIG MENTION OF RAPE, I DONT REALLY MENTION IT ITS MORE OF ME IMPLYING IT BUT ITS STILL THERE SO
Tumblr media Tumblr media
~~~~~~~~~~~
You woke up from your dream in a daze panting slightly. Taking in all your surroundings you realized, yes you were still in the same place and yes, that place was the isle of the lost.
Normally the isle of the lost was not a place where a princess should be, let alone the daughter of Moana herself yet you were here. You had begged the VKs to take you on their rescue trip to save your closet friend Ben who had been kidnapped on the isle. Sadly a mist the battle between pirates and royalty the group fled in a hurry and had forgotten that you were on the other side of the plank once Mal had kicked it off.
As soon as they realized their mistake they tried all they could to get you back, you assuring them you’d be fine and that they just needed to go. The last thing you saw Mal word to you was “we’ll come back for you” before they disappeared into the pipe and you fled from the pirate scene hoping to stay out of view from any villains.
That had been nearly three months ago when it occurred and they still hadn’t come… you still hadn’t left. Yet it all consisted of the same. Everyday you’d hide out in Mal’s old apartment and leave when you needed food and such making sure no villains or crew members of Uma found out there was a princess on the isle.
You had learned to steal, it wasn’t a favorite of yours but sadly you learned you’d need to do it if you were to survive anymore on this gosh forsaken dump of land. You hated it here, not for reasons many would think. You were homesick, tired, and alone. You’d give anything to be back in Auradon smiling with Ben and your friends yet, you were not.
You sighed preparing yourself to head out for the day. You put on your beige shorts, red top, white sneakers, and your signature Hawaiian flower (given to you by your mother) in your hair. Lastly you tied the look all off with a big, old, dirty cloak so no one would recognize you and you left.
~~~~~~~~~~~
You had been “shopping” around for what felt like hours before you began to grow tired. Your feet were starting to ache and you only wished to go home when something shiny had caught your attention from the corner of your eye. You quickly turned to see the object more clearly and couldn’t help but feel your curiosity grow. You definitely felt your mother’s childlike wonder grow in you more and more as you inched closer now in a more secluded area of the alleyways.
You had decided that you’d just take the item and be on your way. Yes stealing was wrong and always would be but you only ever stole food and you didn’t see why you couldn’t steal for your own pleasure for once. And so you did, you inched closer and closer till you finally grabbed the item, yanking it from its position, and running.
You ran as fast as you could feeling the wind in your hair and your cloak hood fall. You could hear footsteps approaching faster and louder and quickened your haste. When it suddenly seemed like you had won and the steps had died down you reached a dead end in a dark ally way and ran into the wall, falling to the ground with a thud and mentally cursing yourself for being so clumsy.
You were just about to get up and sprint when you suddenly felt a grip on your wrist and chills go down your spine. You were pulled to your feet and pushed in the hold of whoever had caught you. Your back was pressed against the strangers front, whoever it was clearly being taller than you and being able to keep a strong, tight grip.
You wriggled and squirmed but just could not break free of the hold they had you in. You suddenly felt a warm breath down your neck and the words, almost a haughty whisper by your ear,
“Didn’t your mother ever teach you that stealing from a pirate was a mistake?”
Your face flushed at the voice, feeling uncomfortable and hot at the same time. With one strong big push you were able to break free from your attacker, hitting the wall once more, dropping the stolen item, and falling on your butt. As you looked up, one hand shielding your eyes from the sun you saw it, those beautiful blue eyes, the shadow of the figure putting the shiny, stolen item onto his hand. you knew instantly who he was! You had recognized him from the battle to save your friend and what you had just happened to steel was his pirate hook… ouch.
“Harry Hook” you spat out.
“Well well well, you do know me. That’s a shame lass I don’t recall who you are?” He said holding one hand out to you to help you back up with a cheeky grin. As you stood up and were able to give the pirate a better look at your physique, many things seemed to finally come back to Harry.
“I know you doll, you were at the battle! To save king beastie! Oi you must be some kind of princess now aren’t ye? Let me guess lass, go on gimme a princess name” he said with a menacing grin.
You rolled your eyes at the pirate annoyed with his behavior and the fact that you had finally been caught.
“I’m not a princess, I’m the daughter of the village Chieftess. There’s a difference and frankly I’d rather if you didn’t know who I was thank you very much” you answered calmly seeing it as an opportunity to start walking away when he grabbed your arm once more and moved closer.
“Tsk tsk tsk” he began, “you’ve made two mistakes in one day lass. Never steal from a pirate and never walk away from Harry Hook. Now judging by your snarky attitude and rebellious behavior ima say your Y/N, the daughter of Moana ye?”
“H-how… how did you know that?”
“I know all royalty love, I’m a pirate, makes for good loot stealing plans.” You just simply nodded and gave him a straight face hoping he wouldnt ask why you were here.
“Now, what’s a good little lady like you doing all washed up on our shore hm? Are you lost? Stuck? Oh- oh ho ho!!!” He began chuckling and smiling all along. “Did the mean wittle villain kids leave their least favorite friend behind to rot on an island with no one but herse-“
“ENOUGH!” You yelled cutting him off by surprise but not long enough for him to smirk realizing he had gotten to you. “I chose to stay, no one left me, you can stop bothering me now.”
“Oh come on love, no one chooses to stay on this dreadful place, not even I wish to stay here, only madmen and witches. If you did so desperately wish to stay what was the reason? Did ya miss me?” He asked with a cheeky wink at the end.
You rolled your eyes and thought of a quick, untruthful, reply.
“I just wanted to know what it felt like… to fend for myself, to steal, to not be good for once. It’s not to much to ask for!” You began realizing your answer may not have been the best and quickly changing the topic. “Anyway what you did you say about even you wanting to leave?”
“Ah its true lassie, not even the most handsome devil on this island wishes to stay…” he took a seat on a barrel nearby, you taking up room next to him on some crates, listening to him begin to speak. “I wish to go to a place, I don’t expect you to know. Tis a place I come from. My sisters are there and my father, the one I am sure to make proud. I miss them… they were lucky to make it to the unreachable land were as me, I was too slow and got put here. I dream about the beautiful island everyday, a place I’d rather be with my mates and my family just chillin happily. Ah yes, what a glorious place it is… Neverland.”
You choked once hearing the last word… “Neverland”. No not Neverland. You wished to never think of that place again. You wished you’d never have to go back. You couldn’t. You wouldn’t.
“Only thing not too glorious about Neverland is Pan” he mumbled clearly annoyed with the thought.
“N-never. Never mention that name to me. I never want to hear of that man again, got it?” You snapped.
Hook smirked, “Finally someone who hates him as much as my family does! Welcome to the club lass! Whaddya hate em for?”
You didn’t respond. Rather than listen to Hook babble more about his “dream island” you began to think long and hard. You were tired of waiting for rescuers who were sure to never come. You needed off the island now, and you now had a better chance because you had something you didn’t have before. You had a useful persons motive.
Cutting the pirate of you stood up right in front of his sitting figure, gaining his attention and, looking dead into his serious eyes.
“Hook,” You began, “I have an idea and just hear me out. We both really want off this island for different motives but our goal is the same. To just get off the island. If you show me a way to get off the island I promise I’ll take you to Auradon and get you a way back to Neverland.” The last words leaving your mouth left a sour taste… you couldn’t go back to never land you couldn’t…
Hook was not the least to say intrigued at the idea you were proposing and didn’t know what to think. He really wanted out of this gosh darn smelly town but he didn’t know if he could trust you, yet something told him he could.
“How do I know I can trust ye?” He asked raising an eyebrow.
You paused for a second before responding with a smirk.
“You’ll just have to trust me and find out. Deal?” You said sticking your hand out towards him to shake.
He smiled for once, not a smirk but a genuine soft smile and took your hand sending tingles all over your body.
“Deal”
~~~~~~~~~~~
You arrived at what seemed to be like one of the far corners of the isle. A cliff that lead to a straight drop into the murky green water and the bright yellow barrier ahead. Straight across you could see a small rift in the barrier, a part that never seemed to have closed when they locked everyone up here. The hole was too small for even a human infant to fit through but barely big enough to fit a small rabbit.
“That’s our ticket,” Harry whispered behind you sending shivers down once again, man he really loved doing that.
“I’ve known about this hole for ages but never been able to get through it, no one has. It’s just there… taunting us and all we can do is stare at it.” He stated looking at the small tear coldly. You studied more of the surrounding and found out something amazing. The ocean water in the isle never listened to your call despite being friends with the ocean, it was like this water was hypnotized or poisoned. But the water just outside the hole was still blue and filled with life… what if…
“I can get us through,” you said to Harry. “Just umm…” you trailed off looking around. You grabbed him by the arm and sat him on a wooden fence not that far from the cliff. He seemed amused watching you walk back to the edge with excitement. As you reached the side you could feel his wandering eyes on you and just picture his evil smirk.
“YOU KNOW IT DOESNT HELP WHEN I CAN FEEL YOU STARING AT ME!!!” You yelled back at him not even turning around to know.
“Well excuuuuseee meee princess!” He said sarcastically with another huge smirk knowing he had gotten to you again and turning to face the other side of the fence.
You began to feel more calm and at peace. You took a deep breath and tried what had always worked before, you began to sing.
“I’m the girl who loves my island I’m the girl who loves the sea It calls me”
Harry rolled his eyes seeing as it was clearly no time for karaoke. He began to open his mouth to speak for you to knock off the foolishness but stopped as he felt the passion in your beautiful voice grow stronger.
“I am the grandaughter of the village chief We are descended from voyagers Who found their way across the world They call me”
You began to look out onto the horizon and sure enough the ocean seemed to be moving but as you had remembered! Your friend was listening to your pleas!
“I’ve delivered us to where we are I have journeyed farther I am everything I’ve learned and more Still it calls me”
You began to feel a smile creep on more and more on to your face as you watched the ocean rise higher and higher to greet you. Harry not being able to stand not knowing what was going on turned around to witness a giant mass of water squeezing through the rift in the barrier and reaching up to your forehead as if to give you a kiss. To say he was baffled was an understatement.
“And the call isn’t out there at all, it’s inside me It’s like the tide; always falling and rising”
You witnessed your great grandmother, a beautiful spirit Manta Ray leap into the air and splash into the water. You were filled with so much passion and determination tears began to brim your eyes.
“I will carry you here in my heart you’ll remind me That come what may I know the way I am Y/N!!!!”
With the last words you sang, you began to walk backwards a reasonable amount preparing to do the unthinkable. It took Harry less than a second to realize what you were about to do. Oh no, a fall from this height was certain death, there was no way.
Harry reached out to grab your arm but barely missed as you had already sprinted off the cliff and into the waters down below making a huge splash into the mass of crystal clear waves that were still floating.
You began to laugh happily, content to be with an old friend again. After what felt like ages to Harry and seconds to you the ocean hoisted you back up onto the cliff just enough for you to reach your hand out to Harry.
“Let’s go home.” You smiled at him extending your hand for him to grab. He reached out to grab your hand when a booming voice scared the three of you.
“HARRY!!!!” It screeched really loudly. You saw her surprised eyes and remembered instantly. How could you not… Uma.
The ocean immediately became frightened and set you down safely back onto the cliff with Harry, scattering it’s way back through the hole and far, far, away. However it wasn’t fast enough for Uma to notice you could have just found a way out for her.
“Well well well,” she began. “What do we have here? Little y/n! Daughter of the stupid ocean girl… blah blah blah. Grab her.” You suddenly were grabbed on both sides and couldn’t move. You tried struggling but nothing seemed to be able to break you free.
Uma began to circle you as she spoke. “Little poor y/n. Far away from her precious royal friends and even farther from her precious island! How cute! I’ve been rotting on this island for longer than you’ve been alive sweet pea and I was starting to lose all hope off getting off after that whole Mal and Ben fiasco. But now… now it seems fate has brought me something. You. And I’m not failing this time.”
Fear struck your heart listening to her speak “what are you going to do?” You asked. “Kill me?”
“Oh dear” she laughed maniacally. “Of course not… I wouldn’t dream of hurting you! Besides I still need you alive if I am to leave this wretched place, let’s just hope you’re really worth something.” She finished having gotten closer to your face and grabbing your mother’s flower from your hair.
No. You could feel the panic attack setting in. You needed the flower. It couldn’t leave you! It would protect you!
“UMA!” You begged and shouted. “PLEASE DONT TAKE IT FROM ME NO!!! PLEASE!!!! IT WAS MY MOTHERS YOU DONT KNOW WHAT IT MEANS TO ME!! GIVE IT BACK PLEASE PLEASE!!!” You screeched, sounding like you were calling for bloody murder. The sobs became harder and the panic began to set in all the while pleas and begs leaving your mouth.
“You’re so cute when you beg!” She laughed evilly. “Harry, lock her up.”
You turned to look at Harry, your bloodshot eyes and sobs escaping your mouth directed right at him. Harry didn’t know why but he could feel his heart break and it broke even more when he heard the next words leave your mouth.
“t-traitor! TRAITOR!!!!!” You screamed. “I TRUSTED YOU! GIVE IT BACK PLEASE I CANT BE WITHOUT IT PLEASE!!! I HATE YOU TRAITOR!!!!” You cried all the way to your cell, Harry having to cover his ears with his hands and his heart with a mask.
30 Days of WITCHversary - 14-18
This week was hectic so Im dumping the last few days all at once.
Ahhh the shit-talking ones, I adore WITCH, but boy do I have some salt.
14- Something that irked you
I have to say the biggest thing is the fact that there simply wasn’t enough dragons, especially past the 2nd arc. Their power origin is dragons(until the late-series retcon nonsense), the motif is ‘you are something more than human now’, and then???? nothing? They forsook the ‘you are not fairies, you are not witches, you are something more ancient, strange, and lovely’ stuff and went sparkle fairy. Oof ouch the retcons.
Dragons all over the four dragons issue, dragons on the restaurant, Nerissa’s panel here? dragon.
Tumblr media
This isnt something that the comic is guilty of only either, the show is guilty of it too, and they had no excuse, the comic was already out pretty far, and they wanted a show that appealed to boys, so why didn’t they go all in???
There were dragons on Taranee’s laptop when they talked about quintessence, there were dragons in the origins episode, there was dragons in the Phobos fight, in the one where Nerissa tries to take Earths Heart the first time, and there was the mention in the last episode, but did we see anymore dragons? Especially as their Zenith forms which I’ve complained about before was the PERFECT opportunity to tie in the motif? No.
There should have been way more dragon flavor.
Some dragon-shaped auras, the zenith deus ex transformation should have been dragons, Id have even taken totally western dragons, just,,, pls. More dragons emblazoned on coats and people referring to them as dragons. Maybe have part of Phobo’s goal be becoming a dragon. IDK just toss more in there!
And why did they strip the dragons out in the later arcs? My answer is Marketing. Things needed to be pink and sparkly or they are seen as encroaching on different demographis, and not sellable, as CEOs love the minmaxing. Dragons aren’t considered cute, for some reason, and so they had to go. That cash cow was primed to be power-milked until it died. And well. It did.
Im not saying that the shift in priorities from juicy dragon-flavored undertone creeping horror of being uninformed newly minted child soldiers against their will to sparkily faerie idols who do magic sometimes and smooch a lot of boys totally killed it but... Well...
You know.
You can tell im salty about this, and have been salty about this for over a decade, can’t you.
15- Something that needs a quick fix
In the beginning issues, some of the wording implies the only worlds are Meridian, which is just basically hell, Kandrakar, which is basically heaven, and Earth, and no other worlds. Which is all well and dandy, except.... 2 arcs later that stops being the case.
Change that, because it goes off the rails from that view so fast its not even funny. The simplistic, ‘Meridian evil lizards, Kandrakar good glowing green immortal gods or whatever’ can stay, I guess, because its part of the deconstruction of the ‘evil’ world and ‘good’ world, with Earth as the purgatory thing that media does but just. Right from the start say ‘multiverse’ ‘many worlds’ ‘many dimensions’ one or any of those. It would be just the tiniest, but most wonderful continuity fix.
Just a couple word changes, no panels need to be changed at all.
Something that needs an overhaul
The retcons and plotholes in general. Ive spat quite a bit of salt about the retcons and plotholes already but. WITCH has an undeniable plothole and retcon problem. I love WITCH more than anything, but oh man. It has that one glaring, unfixable flaw.
There are regular adaption plotholes in the cartoon (Biggest one- Why did Yan Lin not give them lessons on how to fight, negotiate, what powers they have and can grow to have, the species that live on Earth and Meridian, a primer into the history of Kandrakar and the other worlds when she was ALIVE to give them?? They didn’t have them and didn’t know anything in the comic, because she DIED and Kandrakar wasn’t gonna go shit for WITCH! They were ALONE!) but oh no, im talking about the comic more than anything.
Everything contradicts itself just. So Much.
It would be fine if it were an american-style comic where each run is its own canon, but its trying to be serial and im dying squirtle.
Decide whether their wings are stylized feathers or butterfly wings or what (in ONE chapter book they changed the canon 3 times!!).
Decide whether dragons are their powers or not, how their powers even work, what time of year and how old they are judging from the canonical minimum of days that have passed, how serious their job of defending the universe is. Pick a set of truths and stick with them!!!! Twists are ok and you can change the focus and tone over time but you cant just. Kick out established truths and replace them with shit that makes previous nonsense invalid. The overhaul needs to chose their truths BEFORE they start and then stick with it the whole way through!
And their truths they say and then never talk about why they came about need to be de-plotholed. Kandrakar has a noninterference policy? Why? What the fuck does that mean and how come they can send the guardians then? Kandrakar commands the dragons, yeah? Ok, why do they leave them alone all first arc. Matt was part of Kandrakar? Yeah, why didnt he train them into the dirt and not tell them anything whatsoever? Why did he base his relationship with Will on a den of lies that totally shit on his character before that arc????
What it needs to get this overhaul is just a total reboot that takes all these truths and plots, and makes them one cohesive thing.
Only problem. I dont want this fandom getting The V0ltr0n Treatment. I couldnt bear it, to have it get really popular and be filled with people who think its ok to threaten VAs and suicide bait and viciously bully people for daring to have redemption arcs in their fics. I don’t want this place to become a place of fear, I dont want to have the cozy atmosphere be transformed into a hectic high-traffic disk horse zone, even if it gets us an official Perfect WITCH Cartoon.
So no matter how much I want WITCH to have this flawless unfucking of the plotholes... I think I’ll be content with it the way it is.
17 - Something that needs to be revisited
CHYKN
P… ple ase,,, give me flashback arc.
Previous guardians can give us padding arcs until the writers figure out how to plot the main stuff, previous guardians can give us worldbuilding, previous guardians can give us backstory for characters we have met, and can give us villains that feel connected to the current plot.
How neat would it be if we had an issue following Kadma and halinor setting up their magic Illuminati?
How neat would it be if we had Luba and Yan Lin working together while Yan Lin was still active?
How neat would it be if we got a more in-depth Nerissa origins story, complete with what she plans to do after she stamps all over Kandrakar for the inhumane 40+ years of solitary confinement?
How wonderful, storywise, it would be to have villains and allies who knew past guardians, howevermany cycles back, to see and hear of guardians before, and how they failed, but this time, WITCH wont?
Day 18 - Something that needs more love from the fandom
Hi Yes Have You Heard The Good News Of The Four Dragons And Xin Jing?
Dragons,,,,, good. Please let us make more dragon content.
I am a biased dragon who wants more dragon things, yes. I am aware.
But oh, I cant be one of like 3 people writing dragon AUs. I mean, considering the fandom size, thats like a whole 3% but You Know.
‘What fan content do you want to see more of?’ Dragons. Always dragons no matter the fandom or appropriateness of giant flying lizards.
Everything is improved with dragons.
i have, um. seen you post a LOT of Wicked content. and i am STILL in the dark as to what it is; what is it? all i know is that its a musical and apparently extremely gay, which is good 😆
Im so sorry, turns out I am too tired to find a way to answer this in any concise or coherent way, so here's some unedited ramblings that you can hopefully find some meaning in!
Wicked is a musical based on a book, and it is a prequel to The Wizard of Oz. The main character is called Elphaba, who eventually becomes the Wicked Witch of the West (who's the villain in Wizard of Oz. You probably know that cause it's like a famous movie but I didnt want to assume djkdhsgdh).
Super Quick Plot Synopsis: Elphaba goes to uni, and people dont like her because she's got green skin and is also a nerd I guess. She learns some magic and is good at it and The Wizard (the titular Wizard of Oz who is like in charge of the country for some reason) offers her a job. And thats all she's ever wanted, but then she finds out The Wizard is sketchy af on things like 'morals' and 'locking innocent people up' and stuff. So she turns against him, but he demonises her in the press and now everyone thinks she's a wicked witch. And eventually this leads to the events of The Wizard of Oz where a girl Dorothy like accidentally assassinates her (except in the musical she only pretends to die and lives happily ever after or something.)
I think Wicked popularised the idea of retelling classic tales from the villain's point of view? I can only think of the film Maleficent and the parody play Twisted as examples of that, but Im sure there's more.
Anyway, I left lots of stuff out of that synopsis, mostly characters Elphaba interacts with. And the character she has the closest relationship with is Glinda, who is the 'Good' witch in The Wizard of Oz. And like. It's not explicitly gay, in fact they spend a lot of the plot in a love triangle with some guy. But trust me, it's real easy to headcanon them as gay and in love. I swear they go through so many fanfic tropes together. Glinda and Elphaba are in the same year at uni, they hate each other immediately because the former is a popular prep and the latter is a loner nerd, but they gotta suck it up because they're roommates (*vine voice* oh my god they were roommates). Eventually, after some shenanigans, they become best friends. And then it gets all tragic and awkward because when Elphaba says "f#€k the government", Glinda gets a public government job as The Good Witch and needs to denounce Elphaba. And they have a fight or confrontation or something, but at the end of the musical they admit once again that they actually dont hate each other, and all but admit their undying love for each other.
OKAY ANYWAY, the kinda odd thing about Wicked (for me) is that I dont super care about the plot (I mean,, I can't even remember it that well. And the book apparently isn't real good so I don't care about it either) but despite that, Wicked still has a special place in my heart, probably just because I've listened to its songs so many goddamn times. (When I was in middle school I pretty much Only listened to musical soundtracks. I think I was kinda weird. But yknow, who wasn't.)
And Glinda/Elphaba means a lot to me too, again probably because Ive listened to their duets so many times. Plus there's so much (probably accidental) queer coding. It's super easy to headcanon Elphaba as trans too. (Her first solo song is her daydreaming about her perfect life working alongside the wizard and no one judging her by the body she was born with. It literally includes the lyrics
"and one day he'll say to me 'Elphaba, / Girl who is so superior, / shouldn't a girl who's so good inside / have a matching exterior?'"
Like, what a trans mood.)
So Basically, Wicked and its songs, and Glinda/Elphaba, are all like comfort food for me at this point.
The New Hero on The Block (pt.2/?)
Peter Parker x reader (Mentor! Strange x student! Reader)
Tumblr media
Summary:after looking through the book And learning more you head to The source for more information
Warning: death of a side character.
pt.1 / pt. 2
~~~~~
"Helllooo!?" you pownded on the front door of the building from where the book came.
You spent two weeks reading the book front to back twice and even more time attempting to do what it said. All you got was a few sparks sometimes a quick glance into the kitchen. And you had to know more about it.
You where a curious person and always had to learn more. Books where the only thing you had growing up. You got a lot of them from your dad he would stay up and read to you and take you to book stores. Before he got to busy.
You held the book close to your chest as you continued to knock on the door. "Is anyone home!? I came to talk about a book I stole a few weeks ago!!"
Before your knucles could meet the wood of the door again it swung open and you punched the man who stood in the door way.
"Yes!?" He snapped looking extreamily irritated. He was tall, neat hair with a single white stripe on each side of his head and a neatly trimed beard.
"I...i uh wanted to ask you about this book!" you unzipped your coat and pulled the book free showing it to him.
"How did you get this!? He looked at you in awe and grabbed the book walking inside disregarding your exsistance.
"I..." you cleared your throat stepping inside after him and shut the door. "I stole...stole it a few weeks back. Along with this ring!...witch to be honest I thought was a pair of brass knuckles but after reading the book-"
He turned to you half way up the stairs.
"You stole this book and a sling ring! And on top of that you read it!? How did you even manage to get in here!?"
You pointed to the window on the top floor you came through that night. "The window..." He looked at the book while offering an open hand. "The ring please."
"Actually...I was hopeing you could could teach me what's in that book! I mean I've almost got that sling ring thing down or whatever-"
"Why because you think it's some cool trick you want to impress all your friends with some magic!?" you scoffed and followed him up the stairs. "Well what do you use it for!?"
"I use it to protect people like you! From threats you can't see!"
"So what your like a superhero!?" judging by his strange blue kimono like outfit it was either that or he couldn't afford anything else. "Something of the sort."
You looked inside one of the glass containers. One you swore had something in it a week ago. "Cool!" He looked at you over his shoulder as he placed the book on the shelf. "So maybe you could teach me how to be a superhero too!"
"How old are you!?"
"Old enough!"
"Listen I'm not going to teach some child everything I know because they think being a 'super hero' is cool! Know give me the ring and leave!" You squinted your eyes and him and pursed your lip.you never believed in superheros if they exsisted why not hadle the people after your mom? Why not save her? If they exsisted and really where the good guys where where they when someone was really in danger. You slid the ring on your finger in your pocket and smirked. "Listen I may be young and may not have all the facts or a proper motive-"
"Your a criminal! Now the ring! Please!"
You smirked pulling your hand from your pocket and thought long and hard about being at home while making a side circle with your hand. "What do you think your doing!?"
You grinned when a large hole appered showing the street outside your apartments. "Leaving like you asked! And your right I'm not a hero stupid of me to think that!"
"Wait no-" you jumped through the portal and landed on the ground rolling. The portal shut behind you. "Son of a-" you hissed as you pushed yourself up realizing you landed on your writst.
"(y/n)!?" you looked up and sat your dad making his way to you. "Dad?" he was a meidium hight man with a very thin body and round glasses that framed his face making him look like a cartoon character. "What are you doing here you are never home this earily."
"Yes well..." his scentence trailed off into an awful cough. "My boss was consented for my health." you smiled and walked with him inside. "Why dont we have a good family dinner? Catch me up on what's happening!"
"Ok! We can order out or-" he stopped in the hall looking at your apartment door and stepped in front of you blocking your veiw. "Why dont you run to the market...here pick out a dinner we can cook together!" He handed you money and sent you back down the hall. "Uh ok.." she hurried down to the market in search of dinner.
~
You sat in front of the store before going in pulling some goze from your bag. You wrapped up your wrist and hand and headed inside.
You took no less than ten moments to pick out a few good things to make before heading back. Being stopped by a fire truck heading in the same direction. You looked up following the truck to see fire of course rising from your building.
"Dad!" you raced after the truck pushing past the the crowed of people. "Dad!?" you looked around holding he had gotten out in time but saw no sight of him. "God damn it!" you grabbing your mask and ran to the front door of the building. "Hey! Hey miss!" you shoved the fireman out of the way and dove into the building.
"Dad!?" the building was at the same time brightly light by the orange flames but deeply dark do to the thick smoke that took over the air. You coughed as you pulled your mask on a long with your hood pulling the stings so it was tightly on and ran up the stairs. "Dad! Where are you!?"
"Help! Help me!" you perked up and turned to a door that no longer sat properly on it's hinges and slid across it. "Hello?"
"Over here!" you turned to a girl few years younger than you and her little brother huddled under a dinning table barrely standing. You ran over to them and flipped it off the top of them.
"C'mon!" you grabbed the little boy and the girls hand. And ran over to the window.
"Ok wait right here hold your brother! And cover yourselves!" she took him and ducked away from you. You kicked the window shattering it and pulled your grappling hook from your bag. And sat it in the window.
And dumped out the rest of the contents of your bag. "Here!" one of the rooms finally collapsed from beside you and the two scrame. "Hey get it's ok!" her brother was small enough to fit in your bag considering it was a large bag. You put him in it making sure he was succure. Another part collapesed and you jumped. "Here take your brother and climbe down the rope!"
"What!?"
"Go!" she slowly but surely grabbed hold of the rope and climbed out the window looking at you worried. "I promise you I'll stay right here and hold it in place."
She nodded and slowly let herself fall down the rope. "Look!" someone from the crowd yelled and pointed up at the three of you. She wiggled down it slowly slipping slightly here and there. You realized the fiermen had pulled out something for them to land on and the amount of rope was wearing thin. "Jump!"
"No!" you groaned and looked back down at her. "You need to drop your brother then jump!" she furrowed her brows. "Now!" something crashed from within the building. You watched as she shrugged your bag off her shoulders sending her brother down screaming.he landed with a soft poof. The rope was slowly wearing down.
"Jump now!" she shook her head. You pulled your sleeve over your hand and grabbed a shard of glass and slashed the rope. "I'm sorry!"
"No!" she too landed safely down below and you ran out of that apartment and into the hall dashing straight to your apartment kicking the door open with easie. "Dad!? Daddy are you in here!?"
She looked around stepping on something. You stooped down to pick it up and placed it in your coat pocket. There was sudden movement from within the house. "Dad?" the person ran fast across your vision you grabbed a part of a chair and flung it at him stunting him momentarily. "Who-" the roof collapes on the right side of your apartment you jumped back. "Who are you!?"you took note of there clean suite and has mask, they said nothing and ran at you with a knife. "Shi-" He tackeled you knocking you good and mask off. As if it knew the smoke emidently filled your lungs causing you to wheeze as you attempted to push the man off. the window shattered and the man was was sent flying into the flames across the room.
"Are you ok?" you looked up to see none other than New York's very own spiderman. "Uh yea its just my dad I can't-" the door way collapesed. "You shouldn't be in here we need to go!"
"Not with out my-" he grabbed you and ran to the window throwing you out and jumping out after you before catching you in his web And pulling you up into his arms. You looked over his shoulder and watched the top of the building burst and collapse completely. The two of you landed on the ground near an ambulance and you continued to state into the buildings flames as a paramedic lead you away from spider-man. "Take care of her doc.." you sat staring blankly. You didnt save him...you didn't find him at all. Instead you wasted time helping some kids you didn't know.
"Excuse me miss?" you looked up slowly and found the girl and little boy standing in front of you. The girl smiled and said nothing but wrapped you up in a tight hug. "Thank you!" it took you a moment to realize what was happening and slowly hugged her back sighing lightly into her hair. "Any time kid..."
"How are you holding up?" you looked up at spiderman as the siblings left. He sat next to you in the back of the ambulance. "Hey what you did was...was increadible...even if you couldn't save-"
You tuned him out realising something. Those kids where alive because you choice to save them instead of looking for your father first. "Hey yea...I get it you cant save everyone..." you looked up at the kids as there mother enguolfed them in a hug sobbing.
"Even of you really want to...things don't work out that way."

IT IS THE LADY FROM PERSUASION. shes got dark hair and dark eyes and shes like glaring at everyone like shes onna kill him in their sleep. lol enjoy helen while she's alive. eatin bread and cheese in bed like she's not gonna get crumbs. omg telling these kids how to stand properly what why this lady hate her she's gonna cane her for not washing her hands. bish doesn't even flinch go helen. 'cleanliness is next to godliness' alright crazy. this school is a lot more chill than most of the others - they're laughing and doing what they want as well as learning and playing games. making jane out to be a pro artist. oh no ol mate saw her with her hair out. no dont cut it. 'vanity?' shes out here with naturally long, red and curly hair and he's out here calling her vain? because he recognises it as lovely she must be vain about it? what a fkn dickhole get off your high horse sexist moron pig anus head. what. he's saying her naturally  iwgh what i don't even understand his shit - it isn't offending him thats the issue its her naturally occuring sin and vanity (because her hair exists?) that is the issue??  what. lol go Jane. NO. oh fuck go Jane go. this guyyyy. don't do it Jane. chin held high she only does it when Helen nods at her to. DAAAAAAAAMN. took of her own bonnet. if Helen's hair goes so does Janes. they stood together looked at each other and flipped their heads over for him to go snip snip, bish looked shock and actually stepped back in horror. What a bae. Helen's fkn dying send help. fuck this lady should not be working with children considering how much she hates children. o shit where's helen. her beds all rolled up. can hear her hacking away in the distance. yikes that sounds bad. jane be creepin. oh fuck she's a terrible actress even as a kid. who honestly thinks its a good idea to hire her. she lying in her dying friend's bed and she's breathing all over her. isn't anna paquin australian? no? ah new zealand fairo. oh fuck Helen's daed. she's trying to squeeze out tears ahah oh no. she can't manage it. anna go back to new zealand you suck at acting who hired you ever. Riparoonies helen. that was actually the greatest jane and helen moment i've seen tbh. oh damn cool transition as she walked from helen's grave - she went from kid to adult. whats this part down the midde all of them got. Miss Temple fam, persuasion lady, fantastic lady, crying as Jane leaves like her mumma. this jane is long-flat-faced with a long protruding jaw, and very tall and skinny. thornfield looks like its already burned down ahaha. straight up castle here. she's got her drawing stuff as well as her bag. nice friendly ol mate meets her and opens the gates - big ass square this is some game of thrones shit yearh this place is like medieval more than victorian. the middle parted hair and the curled twists behind her head they're pretty much exactly the same in most Janes. all chillin and chatting about this together rather than completely separate. adele actually legit sounds french rather than just pretending? noice. dreary, cold, dark halls. her room is bright and airy with a four-poster bed and bay windows and lots of very nice furniture. river runs beside it; enormous tapestries; main gallery with lots of furniture and paintings and sculpures all covered in sheets with windows open to let in light; the doors are very large and heavy. Janes got a very long neck she looks legit like a fkn swan lmao. ooh a rochester backstory. well-travelled, intelliegent, can't tell if he's talking in jest or in earnest, or if he is pleased or irritated, not a happy man. they're just walking about in his rooms. the sun shines bright but cannot reach them through the thick mist. they're very soft-spoken. god her head is so far forward she's like the alien - long ass neck stretching forward and then her chin and jaw stretching wayyyy forward. wack wack anatomy.  it's very dark and dreary. she's off for a walk leaving adele to do like 5 sums. oh she's been here five minutes and they're already meeting. the music is like ... not appropriately intense? he just sorta looked at her, the horse tripped over and then he was on the floor and she's like whoops uh you alright bro. he's outright lying and pretending that he's not rochester his hair is grotty he's got like no hair on top they've just tries to scraggle it. this is so stunted and awkward. i hope it gets better. he's very gentle and she's pretty nonexistent to far. my god very gentle man. what. is he even rochester? that's a german shepherd. noice. playin chess by himself by the fire lol. this movie would be made infinitely better by an actual soundtrack. they're all chilling together again it's interesting - adele and fairfax and rochester and jane. wait she's been here 4 months. it literally didn't show anything about her chilling here. she talked back and now he's grumpy lol. what a terrible start compared to like... every other first convo. isn't she supposed to be not great at piano and yet she's teaching adele -- wait now we're at another convo between the duo. this convo is the other half of --- wait now we're talking sketches? jesus she hmm what are they talking about she's being forward and fuck her chin twists forward as she speaks she kinda looks like the wicked witch of the west. he's judging her drawings like he can do better. this is a mess? the best part about this so far is adele.  there's no sense of time. adele is gorgeous honestly. she's pale and gaunt with bags beneath her eyes. wait here's the next part of the conversation. blunt and brusque replies from her. god they're so obviously acting its painful. they have no chemistry because the CONVERSATION IS ALL OVER THE PLACE. they've done it on pruspose to try stretch things out a bit but like plz EY why he scrunch up the drawing wtf. 'and remember the shadows are as important as the light'. dudes. these are private conversations? it would be alright to try it more naturally but they're just not the kind of things you casually say. it's impersonal and there's no intimacy. sit there and watch a kid dance to the sound of a music box. he's so grumpy looking. now snapping at the kid. he's annoying. like a violent dude he feels more like a nice guy quick to snap - definitely kinda unhinged. and now drunk. hmm i don't like it. she told him not to be mean to adele and he rages about her mother, 'you've made adele feel unwanted and unloved' damn this Jane goes for the throat. she's too good for him I can see it now m8. he's a psycho run. red flag red flag. don't like it. lol he wake up like huh.... oh look beds on fire... huh... well suppose i should sort it out... huh... fuck they're barely acting huh. do they even want to be here. how much are these guys getting paid. he's literally a drunk. and has she had a drink in her life? she just went for it? omg so impersonal - isn't he supposed to be already half in love with her by this point? camera angle just flicks forward and back as the conversation goes on and when theres action it just pans back to the widest shot ever lol just show the entire scene why give any emphasis or focus to anything who needs reaction shots and feelings of being in it rather than observing it. fkn ey. he's literally just an angry blitering brooding drunk yikes. he's staring at her tits? these conversations man... he definitely just said jade instead of jane. m8 don't tell me he didn't. there's more intimacy between all the servants and jane and feeling more like an actual squad living together than there is any feeling between rochester and jane. adeles got a frog lol cute. 'you're a fool,' jane tells her reflection. this music is so shit it's bringing everything down. rochester, who's been an unfeeling ass the whole time, holds her hand once and now she's got a big crush on him. she's very spirited - to the point where she could too easily be cruel. like it's not just a repressed forcefulness it's like a hidden rage. can see her going mad and chopping someone up with icy rage and poised pleasure. wonder if i'm in a mood and interpreting this wrong? but honestly. dancing rochester now? instead of singing. adele is glaring at Mrs Ingram who just insulted jane lolol go kid she's definitely the best part. the background people actually make this place feel alive and natural, completely unlike their FUCKING AWFUL conversations. jesus what. god could you have two people less interested in each other? i think this fairfax knows about bertha. there's a 'tapestry bedroom'? lol what does that mean. they're dancing, playing cards, piano, the lot. oh the walls are literally covered in tapestries, that's creepy af. theres so much blood my dude would be dead yo. will hurt like doesn't know how to act. wwait theyve skipped my 'fav scene'?? theyre shaking hands again, wtf is this. wait what shes just met stjohn n he;s the one telling her all about the reeds? petunias dying 'love me then or hate me as you will - you have my full and free forgiveness' - i cant forgive any version that misses that out: its so powerful as part of her character. stalking her while he smokes in the dark what a creeper. 'how cuold you be so stupid!' lol fight him Jane i dont even know how we got to kissing likr the movie is almost 2 hours and yet it feels SO rushed. literally took away all the secret courting and his sneaky declarations. shes a modern woman trapped in an old age.  she is so skinny. and with entirely stiff expressions. ew he makes me so uncomfortable. theyre not even trying lol. acting ey acting have u heard of it. just left jane at the altar like bye bitch.shes just in a giant empty ugly room. bertha is a very young and frightened girl but also very sick in the typical long white dress and long dark hair. god this guy is a whingebum. bertha understands everything he's saying. oh yikes lol she just whipped a log from the fire and went after Jane and Jane just put her veil back down with like a sigh turned and yeeted slowly away long ass veil over a white bonnet, silk cape thing in a dark hallway walking all miserable. she's outies lol he's just let her walk out? i love u and i love u. bye. bertha's taken another log from the fire and lit the wedding dress on fire along with the house ahaha. wait he let her leave the house then ran after her on horseback but had to stop after bertha lit the place on fire it started burning and we're actually seeing it happen? interesting. the house is burning, pepople are running, bertha's on the battlements and rochester is going up there to --oh fuck grace poole got yeeted over by bertha oh she's flying ahahaha jumped down to where she threw grace poole. rochesters in the fire. jane's off and racing. it's all happened at once. she went to stjohns, didn't even get dumped in teh marshes but down she goes after chilling in a coach for 3 days. shes been there a month. her jaw is so long and forward its creepy. again one fo the few telling her that she's wealthy from inheritance from her uncle. more backstory. she was deeply loved by her parents, now she's wealthy, lifes looking up but she's all upset after than asshole lol move on and be happy. she's hearing his voice on the wind like please chill. damn 6months. what. um. he's very awkwardly trying to propose? but its like the last half of the conversation with the first bit just cut out. so weird. she looks normal face-on. oh she decides after the proposal to go back - none of that chasing after voices nonsense. whoops that shit burned downnn. doggoooo is still alive. what a good boy. fuck me there's like no anticipation, no intensity, no build-up, no chemistry, it's so dry and cold and heartless. christ acting. act. acting. act. please. act. what is happening. act. she has the neck of a swan ol mate. fucking gross. their words are stilted, and not romantic in the slightest and especially not in their delivery. theyre walking with no kids but the dog but they're talking about the kids. oh my god. that was pretty fkn awful. like seriously not good.
