Bebas

Baru sepuluh menit yang lalu aku menyelesaikan drama My Liberation Notes, tapi aku seperti menemukan berton-ton semangat untuk jalan kembali. Sudah sekitar delapan minggu awal satu pekanku diawali dengan drama ini. Segala perasaan manusia diselipkan dan dikemas dengan cantik oleh pembuat drama ini, sungkem dulu.

Bisa dibilang, drama ini juga yang jadi pemicu aku untuk menulis di sini. Di episode 16 ini, klub pembebasan kembali berjalan yang artinya upaya orang untuk bebas berjalan sepanjang hidup. Lalu, pada saat klub pembebasan berkumpul mereka merasa belum merdeka--rasanya kata merdeka lebih pas dibanding bebas, menurutku--namun karakter Taehun berhasil menemukan akar masalahnya. Yaps, akar masalah itu hampir sebagian dari solusi yang dicari sehingga di akhir cerita mereka akhirnya menemukan alasan kenapa mereka tidak bahagia. Ini bisa menyiratkan ending bahagia mereka karena yaa kalau dilanjutkan lagi perjuangan mereka menuju kebebasan itu bakal menghabiskan satu season.

Gijeong yang menemukan siapa dirinya dan mengakui permasalahan hubungannya sama Taehun (karena kan Gijeong bucin banget). Changhee yang langkah kakinya kembali membawa ke tempat yang ‘tepat’, yaitu kelas mengurus pemakaman, hal yang sepertinya dekat dengan Changhee. Mijeong yang bisa melepas rasa bencinya ke orang karena dia punya yang lain yang lebih berharga (Boram, teman kantor barunya, teman klub pembebasannya, keluarganya, dan tentu Pak Gu).

Kemudian ada Pak Gu yang pas bareng Samsik (yang nama aslinya Kim Woobin) tidak minum alkohol di mobil dan sialnya kena masalah karena si Hyeonjin sialan. Tapi dari sana akhirnya dia memutuskan untuk berhenti dari dunianya. Walau akhir ceritanya agak gantung, tapi Pak Gu mencoba melepaskan dirinya dari alkohol setelah melihat koin recehan yang hampir jatuh ke pembuangan namun berhasil selamat. Keren! Dari hal kecil kita bisa bahagia atau semangat.

Jadi, hari ini juga aku memutuskan untuk melepaskan segala ketakutan, kecemasan, dan kebencianku terhadap masa depan. Setelah hampir dua bulan berdiam diri, mungkin selangkah demi langkah akan aku coba untuk melakukan yang terbaik. Mari kita hidup untuk hari ini. Mari kita memerdekakan diri dan bahagia karena sepertinya ini alasan kita hidup.

Detroit has historically been seen as the last station on the Underground Railroad yet many of its residents including merchants, priests and illustrious citizens such as Brush and Macomb were slaveowners.   Digging Detroit meets Prof. Tiya Miles of the University of Michigan whose team of graduate and undergraduate students uncovered a history of the colonial city that few remember or care to admit.
