My most recent finished commission! A half-cover style with turquoise bookcloth along the spine and Stonehenge white cardstock 90lb for the covers.

The meaning of mistletoe by Endrina, first volume of The secret language of plants. @llendrinall I have read this charming story several times. The voice of the narration, with its fairy tale reminiscence, is something I really like. Endrina is a great author, it is worth reading their novel length fics.

Typeset by Lindsey P. For those inexperienced in fandom, this story can be read for free at AO3.

What I like:

It's quite a simple binding, but something in it remind me of the old editions of my childhood. Reading it give me a special kind of joy, it's both, the comfort of this story and the childhood-like feeling this tome brings me while holding it

What I could do better:

I had problems with the guillotining of the edges, but went ahead [I had already lost a lot of material with a failed first printing]. I couldn't say what happened, but - for me - that mistake gives a Je ne sais quoi to the edition that I love. I don't know why, but when I was a child, back in the 70's, I had many books with the same feeling. The paper was a bit thicker than usual, and the edges weren't perfectly cut. I didn't realize, until I sat down to read this edition, that this binding conjures up memories of my childhood.

Special thanks: During the process, I had a severe case of printer hiccups (Or binder's brain hiccups, to be more precise) but @getfuckedblr hold my hand and helped me.

[If I learned to bind, you can do it too. It's not that difficult... ok a little at first, but it is doable. Don't buy fic binds, ok? It spoils fandom's fun]

Фикбук решил выкакать новый проект. FicFan? А как же Slashbook?

А в жопу слешбук=) Несите бабосики на новый сайт для англоязычных пользователей. Где как и на фикбуке 100% будет невозможно продвигать свои работы без покупки улучшенного аккаунта и "горячих работ".

Лучше бы Костик выкинул вот это в поиске:

Чтоб люди могли переходить на любые страницы, а не только поочередно. Но зачем же так делать, если тогда станет ненужно продавать "горячие работы"?=)

Ну да ладно. Интересно, Костику кто-то расскажет, что уже существует AO3 и что там страницы в поиске листаются вот так (и читатели могут найти любые старые работы, а не только недавно обновленные или те, за которые авторы отслюнявили за рекламу):

Достаточно трудно быть писателем фанфиков в маленьких фандомах (точнее непопулярной части такого огромного фандома, как Гарри Поттер). Поэтому я надеюсь, вы позволите прорекламировать здесь мою работу по фандому Hogwarts Legacy в виде небольшого красачного предисловия ;)

Добро пожаловать в мир волшебства!

Власть чистокровных здесь много лет некому было оспорить. В строгой иерархии древних чистокровных домов Великобритании и в Министерстве Магии возможно выжить только, если влиться в систему. Это определённо требует ума и изворотливости. А также происхождения. Ты мало, что значишь без аккуратно выведенного титула на пергаменте в банке Гринготтс.

Но что если ты попросту не был рожден, где нужно, но по какой-то причине магические способности зародились внутри?

Увы, но тогда ты будешь вынужден смириться со своим плачевным положением. Ведь ты, мой дорогой маглорожденный волшебник, в меньшестве. Тебе не свергнуть эту систему в одиночку. Поверь, многие пытались. Но где они сейчас?

Я вижу, ты совсем расстроен. Прости, что пришлось принести плохие вести. Но отчаиваться нельзя никак. Зато можно ждать.

Совсем скоро в начале 19 века родится невиданное доселе количество других волшебников как ты. Маглорожденных. Вы объединитесь и отомстите за годы пренебрежения.

Соблюдайте осторожность и не забывайте о проницательности. Не все чистокровные настроены против вас. Будут и те, которые помогут достигнуть вашей цели.

Вот, например, Оминис Гонт. Прямой потомок Салазара Слизерина.

Но не ставьте на нем крест так быстро. Он пока совсем мальчик, но уже сомневается в правильности происходящего. Хотя, разумеется, еще не осознаёт всего масштаба. Это ли не чудо, если вспомнить в какой семье он вырос? С чем мальчик сталкивается каждый де��ь?

Понаблюдайте за Оминисом. За тем как он перейдет порог Хогвартса в первый раз. Как найдет первых друзей. Как он наконец встретится с другим миром, о котором слышал лишь плохое. Как начнет углублятся в науку, которая откроет ему глаза окончательно. Любопытство и осторый ум могут привести мальчика к совсем другой жизни. Они дадут ему оружие, которое решит судьбу твоих братьев и сестер маглорожденных. Но поставит под удар его, и все что ему дорого.

В твоих силах повлиять на Оминиса и заполучить то, что ты больше всего желаешь. Свободу. Поэтому дайте ему шанс, и вы обретёте ценного союзника.

Начните же сейчас. Пусть Магия дарует вам легкий путь.
