Eddie had been put in the yard all day. This wouldn't be unusual normally, Eddie was often the one the mowed their grass and dealt with their hedge and back trees of the house they'd moved into last spring. Steve preferred looking after his little flower patches and herb garden, it was nice being able to add fresh things to his cooking, saved money too.

No what was usual was Eddie being in the yard all day, in the middle of winter when it had snowed the night before. He'd already dealt with clearing the driveway, what on earth had his boyfriend been doing all day. Steve's curiosity finally got the better of him after Eddie didn't join him for lunch.

"Eds? What on earth have yo–" Steve's question was quickly answered by seeing his boyfriend standing in the middle of a small snow fort.

"Stevie! You weren't supposed to get suspicious until lunchtime!"

Steve laughed, I just finished lunch, Eds, is this what has been keeping you all day?"

"You had lunch without me? But I'm starving!" The older boy bemoaned, "yes I've been making a new casa Munson-Harrington." Eddie said patting the sides of his creation.

Steve still got those butterflies when Eddie joined their names, he had a ring on his finger as a promise that it would be on paper someday, although he was partial to just Munson, "There's a warm bowl of pasta waiting for you in the kitchen, baby, go grab it then show me your fortress."

Eddie smiled widely, running inside and coming back with the bowl, shovelling pasta into his mouth while he spoke, "I just remembered you said that you used to love making forts with Tommy as a kid, and well I thought I should make a better castle for my prince than stupid Hagan." Steve giggled, Eddie was probably still more pissy that Tommy was his first kiss than the fact they used to build forts.

"Chew your food, Eds, you'll choke. But thank you, it's lovely, want me to call the kids to come over for a snowball fight?"

"Marry me?"

"Already planning on it, Munson."

Now, results from the world's largest trial of a four-day working week reveal significantly reduced rates of stress and illness in the workforce—with 71% of employees self-reporting lower levels of "burnout," and 39% saying they were less stressed, compared to the start of the trial.

There was a 65% reduction in sick days, and a 57% fall in the number of staff leaving participating companies, compared to the same period the previous year. Company revenue barely changed during the trial period—even increasing marginally by 1.4% on average.

In a report of the findings presented to U.K. lawmakers, some 92% of companies that took part in the U.K. pilot program (56 out of 61) say they intend to continue with the four-day working week, with 18 companies confirming the change as permanent.

Research for the U.K. trials was conducted by a team of social scientists from the University of Cambridge, working with academics from Boston College in the U.S. and the think tank Autonomy. The trial was organized by 4 Day Week Global in conjunction with the U.K.'s 4 Day Week Campaign
