So not only did Marvel bring in an Earth-616 Spider-Boy this year, they have a new Spider-Girl — Gwen Warren, the cloned daughter of Cyclops and the Spider-Queen (along with some Stacy DNA and name, courtesy of Miles Warren), a ten-year-old character brought back for the new ‘X-Men’ run; who literally turns into both a giant spider and regular-sized ‘spider-girl’. Have you considered drawing Bailey and her?

I want them to have a sibling dynamic so bad, lab made spiders.

Hey, did you know apparently there’s a new Spider-Girl as one of the current X-Men — a cloned daughter of Scott Summers (Cyclops), Gwen Stacy, and Adriana Soria (Spider-Queen) — made by the Jackal — named Gwen Warren, a mutant who can turn into a literal giant girl spider, and has been a recurring character since 2013? Like ten years? This has been a character that’s been around? Did you know this?

I have posted about it a few times, yes. Prior to her inclusion in the X-Men Green digital comic in January of this year, Gwen Warren was not a recurring character, though.

She'd had exactly one appearance, in a Spider-Man book back in 2013, during the original Superior Spider-Man arc.

During that issue, it was actually implied that her DNA was that of Gwen Stacy, Cyclops, and the Common Garden Spider.

After that one issue, she was basically forgotten until this year, which gave her a prominent role in that story arc.

Someone really needs to introduce her to Peter.

Eye-Boy tracks down Nature Girl so that he could try to talk her out of rampage-killings on humans. However, Nature Girl is still on her irrational warpath on humanity that she's too angry to listen to him. When Eye-Boy tries to calm her down, Nature Girl snaps and rips out his arm without any warning. Nature Girl's irrational violent (and seemingly abusive) behavior caused Gwen Warren to become more afraid of her toxic friend.

Welp, there goes Eye-Boy and Nature Girl Ship...This is already a final nail to the coffin for Nature Girl's character.

My pitch for giving Gwen Warren a new name would be ‘Dylan Soria’. Dylan because it can be another shortening of ‘Gwendolyn’, and Soria after the Spider-Queen’s real name, Adriana Soria.

Maybe we’ll get Gwen Warren? Daughter of Gwen and Cyclops? She can turn into a giant spider and shoot lasers out of her eyes as the spectacular Spider-Girl? I checked — the character debuted in a ‘Spider-Man’ comic, so as long as Sony doesn’t explicitly mention her father, they can include the character.

Gwen Warren is a clone and not the daughter of Gwen Stacy. She was created by DNA from Gwen Stacy, Adriana Soria, and Cyclops. I don't think she will appear in the Spideverse, although anything can happen. It would be interesting though.

Grieving as a Ghost (Oliverse)

Just a pretty emotional Oliverse piece I did of Gwen Warren/Arachne breaking down in front of the graves of her sister and father Gwen and George Stacy.

[To clarify, in this universe (Earth-5203), Gwen Warren was one of the clones created by Miles Warren who was saved when Oliver Osnick/Steel Spider prevented the events of the Clone Saga alongside Peter Parker/Spider-Man.

Because of her genetic makeup, she retained the memories of her predecessor, Gwen Stacy, which caused her to have multiple issues with her identity, including struggling with the fact that both her memories weren’t entirely her own and that her sister and father are both dead.

So now, as she struggles with her powers and personality, she takes the time to mourn the family that fell before her, and a life she never really lived.]

Thought I would throw this out here as a change of pace from my usual lighthearted pieces. Besides, I didn’t want to skimp on some of the more important things from the lore.

Wait. A Google’s telling me she from the Superior Spider-Man era. And ‘The Superior Spider-Man’ is being brought back this year. Is that what this is? She’s being brought back in time for that, to continue along with Jackal’s plans for Otto?

Nah, that plotline was wrapped up back in 2013. If the Spider-Man Office wanted to use her, they'd just use her, not get the X-Office to make her a supporting character in a story arc for half a year
