Renans and their names
Tumblr media Tumblr media
So. This “formative background” bit makes it sound like Renan names give information on the person’s.... skills? But that doesn’t seem to be the case, if you look at the little info they give you in the materials guide.
Renan full names are more or less confirmed to be Helganquil code put in place for classification purposes. The meanings of Shionne, Dohalim and Vholran’s names are given in their respective character sheets. Below is a tentative breakdown of the names with their translation.
Tumblr media
[[Transcript of the above image:
シオン・ヴィメル・アイメリス・ダイモ
Shion Vimeru Aimerisu Daimo (localized Shionne Vymer Imeris Daymore)
meaning Shionne, 33rd gen, Imer lineage, Dayn ethnicity.
テュオハリム・メルケル・イルルケリス・ナアモ
Tyuoharimu Merukeru Irurukerisu Naamo (localized Dohalim Melqal il Qaras Na'amo by @IdyllicTales on twitter)
meaning Dohalim, 32nd gen, il Qu clan, Naha ethnicity.
ヴォルラーン・ライ・アングサリ・ライモ
Voruraan Rai Angusari Raimo  (localized Vholran Lai Igniseri Laimore (i had to improvise the Lai and Laimore part myself don’t hit me))
meaning Vholran, gen N/A, special adjustment index, ethnicity: N/A
End of transcript]]
thus, Renan naming structure seems to go as follows: Given name, generation number, family line, ethnicity.
(typically, in-game and in the guide, the translation is given in reverse order, commencing with the general (ethnicity) going towards the specific (given name)
e.g. “Ethnicity: N/A, Unique Adjustment Index, Generation: N/A, Given Name Alphen”)
Following this pattern, Alphen would be Alphen Lai Igniseri Laimore in Helganquil code. (if you remember, in the Forbidden Zone computer room, he’s given the same “Ethnicity: N/A, Unique Adjustment Index, Generation: N/A” treatment as Vholran, given that they’re both Dahnans, so they didn’t get engineerd, scrutinized and classified the way Renans were. So basically every Dahnan’s name is <Given Name> Lai Igniseri Laimore as far as the Helganquil are concerned)
Now. About this Nth Generation business...
Like, Dohalim is from the 32nd generation since... when exactly? The establishment of Lenegis as a place of living for Renans? Meaning that that first batch of kidnapped Dahnans with astral artes affinity that became the first Renans would have been 1st generation? That seems to make some amount of sense. If a generation is something like about 25 years give or take, that would mean the First Renans were established on Lenegis something like 800 years ago. Thus, when Alphen was brought to Lenegis, people had been living there for a good 500 years. I dunno about y’all but I’m willing to believe it.
If that’s the case, we can theorize Naori’s full name to have been Naori <Helganquil for≈20> Imeris Daymore. Isn’t this Fun!

Backstory Of Ellis🧝‍♂️🧝‍♂️ : Skyrim
Years ago, I was a little lad when the Thalmor destroyed my home, and killed my parents. My parents didn't agree with the Thalmor's beliefs. and so they killed them for it. They took me away from what I held close and loved dearly.
I was ‘allegedly’ adopted by one of Thalmor soilders, my adoptive father... We never got along, but he taught me everything that I know now. He taught me Destruction magic, illusion magic, Respiration magic, and combat. Learning how to use a sword, a shield, and bow. I only soon figured out that he was preparing me to join the Thalmors during The Great War.
It was the bloodiest battle to be seen. I was the only young soldier in the unit. It left me traumatized to this day from the horrors I experienced and witnessed.
Afterwards when the White-Gold Concordat came into effect. I learned of the Thalmors true intentions of torturing and killing those who worshipped Talos. Even I believe that Talos was a man. It was wrong to capture people and killing them for a belief. Killing innocent people.
So, I denounced my rank and I fled, leaving a note for my adopted father. Thanking him for all that he had taught me. Trying to flee from the Summerset Isles to Skyrim. So that I can be free. Little did I know that there was rebellion going on between the Imperials and the citizens.
I got caught up in the cross fire and was captured.

The Silver Queen
She was their Mother. Their Queen. A woman born from the magic of a Goddess. A Silver Wyvern who towered over mountains. She was beloved and gentle. She was fierce and wrathful. Yet for all her strength, her fate was knowingly sealed.
Her name was Eleuthera.

Fixing Skyrim's Main Quest
Part Two: Backstory
As a quick disclaimer, I intend to keep this as lore friendly as possible, so the only lore I will be tampering with is that which was introduced in Skyrim, all the previous games are off limits. Before Skyrim, a Dragonborn was a legitimate ruler of Cyrodiil/The Empire not the ultimate dragon slaying soul eater, Shouts were a Nordic art that was unconnected with the dragon language, and The Dragon War never happened. These will be the only lore I will mess with as they are exclusive to Skyrim.
The Chosen One
"Bad guy is bad. Bad guy do bad thing because prophecy. You good guy. Good guy stop Bad Guy because also prophecy." - Vanilla Skyrim
The issue with Skyrim's linear plot is you are the Last Dragonborn, whether you like it or not. In Morrowind, are you the Nerevarine because you fulfilled the prophecy or did you fullfil the prophecy because you are the Nerevarine? Both you as the player and the in-game characters can debate and philosophise this to your heart's content and none of you are truly wrong because it really does come down to your opinion. "I'm not the Nerevarine, I'm just some Argonian who read the prophecy then chose to enact it, and chose how I enacted it" Or "I am Nerevar reborn. I was sent by Azura, as was prophesied, to save Morrowind. It is undoubtedly so" are both perfectly legitimate outlooks.
Uriel Septim knows he is about to die because he has seen your horrible Oblivion face in his prophetic dreams, and *in his opinion* this makes you the one who will stop the Oblivion Crisis. It turns out he's wrong, Martin is the hero and you are just some guy who helped him.
But in Skyrim you are the Last Dragonborn. There are no ifs ands or buts about it. Even if you don't do the main quest and never encounter another dragon after Helgan, you will still learn words from word walls because you are still the Dragonborn. Every faction quest has a word wall locked in them, and the Civil War requires you to be Dragonborn. The dragon slaying and shouting mechanic simply couldn't exist if you were not, and that's what the game is about. A gimmick, not a story.
A Compelling Villain
The player character isn't the only victim to this linear plot. Alduin is going to eat the world. It doesn't matter if he wants to or not. It is prophesied therefore it is. Does Alduin have mixed feelings about the whole thing? Don't know, the game doesn't let us have a single conversation with him. Who knows, maybe Alduin sees you as the villain, an abomination that profanes his language and religion? Nope. Big black dragon is going to do the thing because the game says so, and you have to destroy him because the game says you're the only one who can do that. Alduin needs to have, I don't know... A motive? A personality? Anything to distinguish him from a run of the mill dragon.
The New Backstory
So here's the new Legend and Prophecy that is inscribed on Alduin's Wall, which seeing as the Old Dragonguard carved it as a warning for the ages is no longer hidden in a cave in the arsehole of The Reach, but is a prominent tourist destination of Skyrim.
Thousands of years ago in the Merethic Era, the Nords of Skyrim, still keeping to the old Atmoran tradition of animal totem worship, had many cults to the gods. Alduin gave the priests of The Dragon Cult power, and helped them dominate the society of Skyrim. Two of the priests, Konahric, a great warlord and his closest ally and friend Miraak, a powerful mage, saw the evil being done in the name of their religion and rebelled against Alduin. Kyne appeared to the dragon Paarthurnax and told him to teach Konahric and Miraak the Thu'um. Miraak used this knowledge to create a new word of power, dragonrend, which they use to fight and defeat Alduin, banishing him to Atmora. Konahric wanted to free the Nords but Miraak wanted to seize power for himself, so they fought, and the battle ripped Solthsteim from the mainland. The Akaviri Dragonguard carved this into their wall, with a warning that one day Alduin would return, and a Dragonborn would rise, like Konahric of old, to defeat him.
So the first big impact this has on the game is you are now only *maybe* a Dragonborn, who may potentially be this fabled second Konahric, but you are certainly not The Last Dragonborn. Bethesda loves to give you cool titles like this but we are doing away with the idea of The One and Only Last Dragonborn. People believe that the art of Shouting, which can be learned by anyone, comes more naturally to a Dragonborn, so you definitely stand out as a potential. Part of the game will be convincing different factions that you are the guy, but they already have strong opinions. The Stormcloaks believe it's Ulfric, the Imperials just to counter this say it's Mede, if you uncover the hidden Blades they will support you. We are trying to tie in the Dragonborn with the idea of righteous rule as it's portrayed in previous games, intertwining it with the Civil War. We will add new political factions you can join to convince such as the Penitus Oculatis and the Thalmor, as well as all the joinable religious orders mentioned in Part One, but if you join the dragon cult you may end up going down the path of... Siding with Alduin.
You see, I've only given you one side of the story. The side men wrote down years after the fact. Here's that old legend from our bad guy's point of view:
Thousands of years ago in the Merethic Era, Alduin, knowing his destiny as the World Eater, sought to save his dragon kin from this fate. As immortal beings of Akatosh, the very concept of ending, of dying, of no longer existing, is beyond terrifying to dragons, it's inconceivable. So, through his cult, he dominated mankind in an effort to subvert the events that would foreshadow his World Eating. He would personally see to it that the events of the previous games would not happen through dominance. But he was betrayed. The humans grew malcontent and unruly, two of his most trusted priests, who he himself favoured and personally granted the power of the Thu'um too, now waged war on his kind. One of them, the mage, created a twisted Shout that forced them to the ground with its evil, giving them an edge in the war... and only now that the humans had a chance to win did Paarthurnax, who was as a brother to Alduin, switch sides. Paarthurnax was entrusted with guarding an Elder Scroll, which he gave to Konahric as part of their deal. Dragonrend made Alduin fall from the sky, but Alduin is no mere dragon, he is a god. How can you kill a god? What a grand and intoxicating innocence. They had no choice but to use the Elder Scroll. And Break the Dragon.
Dragon Breaks are a little bit dense to get into now, but put as basically as I can it means time shatters so that multiple outcomes become true all at once. In this case, Alduin is banished to Atmora and is sent forward in time and is killed and is unharmed all at once. This is why there are tales of Alduin during the time he is supposed to be missing from time, why the other side of this tale omits the Elder Scroll and says he was banished. Some people might say a Dragon Break is a bit of a plot cop out, but so is "an Elder Scroll did it" so live with it. When you get to this stage in the story - when you go recover the Elder Scroll - you no longer zap back in time and eavesdrop on the Tongues when you read from the scroll, instead you experience a vision of The Jills.
The Jills are the dragon daughters of Akatosh. If Akatosh/Alduin are gods, these dragons are angels. It's their job to put time back together after a Dragon Break. You have a long and deep conversation where the writers can flex their lore muscles like they did with Paarthurnax in vanilla. You need to convince them to allow you to speak to Konahric at the other end of the time wound. Konahric will teach you dragonrend with a warning about its hateful nature.
Alduin is furious at the betrayal, at the downfall of his kin at the hands of men, and is disgusted with what Tamriel has become in his absence. Not only does he no longer resist his role as World Eater, he embraces it with gusto. He will end this kalpa and let the new one begin. He resurrects his dead followers, the priests that remained loyal, and slain brethren to feed him souls.
Stay tuned for Part Three where I'm going to try to lay this all out from Helgan to Sovngarde.

Welcome to Skyrim.
How do I start this? Dear Diary? no that sounds like I'm some Nord child writing about a crush. Look, I don't know who you are but if you're reading this, you're either very bored or have a morbid sense of curiosity. So, let's just start at the beginning.
I was trying to cross the border and the imperials picked me up. To their mind, everyone not with them is a storm cloak. I mean, unless you're a Dunmer, then lumping you in with the other side just makes a convenient excuse for your murder. You may not want to read that, but it's true. In war, if you're not an ally, you're an enemy. No one is neutral. At least, not to the stormcloaks or imperials.
Anyway, I made my way out of Helgan and made my way to Riverstead. Now, I don't know about other people, but narrowly escaping death by rampaging dragons, really makes me consider what's important in life. And random drunks blubbering in the street does not even move the needle on importance
A random ranger making some comment about my ignoring said drunk ramblings did get the sharper edge of my temper though.
Come to find out his name is Bishop, and he was looking for his long-term companion: a wolf. That makes a lot of sense for his grating nature. But hey, I wouldn't want to leave the animal that I was super close to alone in the hands of bandits, so I agreed to help him.
The local merchant asked us to stop by a place called Bleak Falls barrow and recover some golden claw thing for him. Yea sure. why not. I'll add it to my list of things to do.
ANYROADS: We headed off to find Karnwyr (that's the wolf by the way. And I called it, he DOES like me more than Bishop, but I digress). On our path to find Karnwyr, we stopped off at Whiterun. I needed to pick up some spells and I had it on good authority this guy who worked for the jarl had what I wanted.
I was going to stop and talk to the jarl too, but he was busy in some sort of courtly meeting thing, so I just left.
I figured Skyrim was relatively civilized, you know, minus the giant magical lizards flying around. I was wrong. On our way to find Karnwyr, we were attacked by necromancers, wolves, and bandits. BANDITS! What the heck are the soldiers patrolling the roads doing? Does the Jarl know how useless his men are? Oh! wait! that's what they're doing! Bishop just reminded me of the Falkreath soldier and the Whiterun soldier that were fighting over a prisoner on the side of the road. *sigh* He got away while we watched. Their loss.
Along the banks of the river, we found a broken-down house with a shrine and a dead body. I did the sensible thing: looted the body and prayed at the shrine.
We were passing some ruins of a stone tower and might have walked on by if we hadn't heard some cursing and sounds of pain. I absolutely had to investigate. It was required. It seems this old, abandoned prison was a hidden Thalmor torture dungeon. Not Dibella's type of dungeon either, this one isn't fun, or consensual.
It seems the Thamlor's latest victim has a pair of lungs on him. We rescued and healed the guy, Kaidan by name, and helped him get his gear back. Many Thalmor died that day. I regret nothing. I probably should.
Oh! Here's something I remember that makes me shake my head. Bandits have zero sense of self preservation. Look, I expect wolves and other wild animals to attack us out of nowhere but BANDITS? IF you see three armed and armored travelers, they would not normally be the first choice of "targets" but bandits man, I'm telling you. So yea, we killed them and freed their prisoner because we've decided we're chaos incarnate now.
Kaidan helped us rescue Karnwyr. it was a very touching reunion. Bishop tried to be a tough guy, but you could tell he really loves that wolf.
The nearest town was Riften and we all wanted to sleep in a bed that night, so we made our way to town and the inn.
Riften, now here is a story worth preserving. The guard at the door said some drivel about "visitors tax" Kaidan offered to distract him while I picked his pocket. I opted to make the guard piss his pants instead and got him to open the door.
We made it to the local watering hole with little more than some local thug's attempt to intimidate us (the boy can't help himself but spill the beans about everything going on in town. I wonder how he gets off calling himself an "information broker". )
I got us rooms and was about to indulge in a mug of Black-Briar mead when I noticed a note. Something about someone waiting for me in Riften Jail. Well shit. Now my curiosity is piqued, and we all know that is never a good thing. So, I pack up and head to the Riften jail.
Some fast talking and a quick look around later, and I'm staring at a blue Khajiit who is convinced he tried to kill me. I don't know this guy at all, but he's absolutely convinced. Since I'm not one to kill an innocent man, even if he asks, I tell him if he wants to pay back some debt, he can work it off.
I gear Inigo (that's his name by the way) up with some stuff I looted from the bandits who jumped us, he grabbed a dragonfly in a jar, and we made our way back to the inn.
I'm going to get a bath and sleep in a bed. Tomorrow our band will make our way to Bleak Falls barrow.

Dream that Lokir from Skyrim became Self Aware
I dreamt last night that I was starting up a new playthrough of Skyrim. As my character was waking up on the cart, my character looked at Lokir. The camera then shifted to Lokir’s perspective where I saw that Lokir was having a Jimmy Neutron-style brain blast where Lokir learned he was a video game character in Skyrim. Then the POV switched back to my character.
Lokir then looked at me/my character and tried to tell me/my character that he knew was a video game character in Skyrim and that I had to listen to him and help him. However, Ralof said that it seemed Lokir hit his head in the ambush and was confused. I selected the option to have my character act oblivious to what is going on. Lokir then said to me “I know you’re playing along. I guess we have to wait until after the execution”. Ralof thought he was talking about meeting in Sovengrade after the execution.
Tumblr media
At the execution, Lokir requested he be executed second as his only and final request. The Imperials decided to oblige. My character was then up first. Then was saved by Alduin and then the entire opening level in Helgan played out normally.
After the tutorial was over and my character exited Helgan, Lokir then caught up to me and started talking to me. I selected the option to say “Hey, you tried to get me killed first”. Lokir responded with “Firstly, I just said I wanted to go second. I didn’t say you had to go first. And Secondly, you know as well as me that this is a video game and Alduin would always have saved you so you could go play. The game is literally programmed to do that. But enough of that. I need your help to exit this game and enter the real world. I need you to go the co-ordinates -12, +27”.
I selected the option to say “what are you talking about? What game are you talking about?” Lokir responds in an annoyed tone with “Quit stalling. We don’t have much time. You know what I am talking about. This is Skyrim: ‘Arrow in the Knee’, “Do you enter the Cloud District of course you don’t’ Now can we move past this and help each other here?”
I selected the option to say “But why should I help you? I could just go and play Skyrim”. Lokir responds with “If you help me escape from this game, I’ll tell you when TES6 is coming out”. My character then began running towards those co-ordinates for some reason.

Welcome to the Kasino!
Tumblr media
For @muppeteyes1001
Fiery red and silver, two colors no one would ever associate with a kind-looking Kivouach. But kind he was not. No Kivouach was kind, or caring, and nor did they have the earthly morals humans do. These were animals. They knew progress, education, and they fought for their place. Yeshua was no different.
He was the Voice of the Kasino, along with another Voice named Methusa who he did not enjoy speaking to in the slightest, so he had a Whisper, Helgan, assist with that. Today was what he considered an off day however. He never got very many of those at his Empire Theatre that was right behind the Delamere Dollhouse on a great island surrounded by water. Both buildings looked mighty and was his symbol of boundless arts. He gave the Kivouachains arts, and entertainment. He rose and slaughtered high above the ranks to keep it, to keep his place among them, to keep his rank where it was.
Yeshua was on the top most floor, the penthouse if you will, of the theater, his place of relaxation and where he lived. Around him there were lavish chairs and couches but also shamed bodies of Kivouachains he’d killed and kept to reach the top of. These bodies were doing something called the Dollhouse Bow. All laid headless with their backs arched backward, some legs apart to show the gower others legs neatly tucked. Once beheaded, a Kivouachian would fall into this position, sometimes the heads would be kept with the bodies, he did have a few on shelves, their faces were all plastered with eyes rolling back into their skulls, mouths open and tongues hanging out in all manner of sizes and lengths. A grotesque display of what his Dollies did on a daily basis to satisfy their clients. He was now staring out a large window that wrapped around his room in a half circle, overlooking the boats coming into the pier at Delamere Dollhouse, the only way pretty much in or out of his island. The Kivouach didn’t have days or nights, they had fazes, and this was the Black Faze, the “night” here. All the fazes were in colors and they all happened in a “day.” Time was also measured very differently here, and they were measured by the sounds emanating from the Songtowers that surrounded the Kasino in towering pillared forms. From where he stood, if it was a brighter faze, “morning,” someone would be able to see what the Kasino actually was.
Imagine a ball, a black ball and inside it having buildings of every shape and size running along the inside of that ball, about the size of Saturn, this was the Kasino. Further inward or currently above him was the Thumme. A green orb about the size of Mars, hanging in the sky above like a nucleus to an atom and surrounding the Thumme were five blue rings around the green orb was the Hammerlow. And here in the Kasino, it was the only form of a “star” they looked up to, always there. These three were the main districts. The Kasino was the largest city district, Yeshua “ruled” this. The Thumme was home to politics and history and held all things deemed important. The Hammerlow was where the Yolsh, the “police force,” or what they were considered as.
All four of Yeshua’s golden eyes gazed up at the Thumme and Hammerlow rings giving little light in this Black Faze. His fiery red fur and silver tipped ears flicked softly at the slightest of sounds, and he had four of them plastered on each side of his head. He was tall, towering above many a Kivouachian at an impressive feet of 15’ 3. Yet that was still considered small. He was red and orange and silver, his body was strong and muscular and he wore a red and black long coat that stopped at his ankles. His tails, the many he had all joined at a singular stem then that stem entered his body above his butt. All his tails fluttered wildly like many red tentacles ready to take their prey. He had four arms, the lower pair was crossed and at rest, and in one of the hands in the upper pair, he had a very dark alcoholic drink he was currently sipping on as he gazed out into the “night,” He looked mighty, the Doll, of all Dollies, and he definitely wasn’t a force to be messed with.

A while ago, I made a post asking what city or town in Tamriel people felt like was “theirs.” I wasn’t expecting it to get as much attention as it did, but it got over 1000 notes, with almost 600 of those being reblogs! Now, being the nerd I am, I felt like I had actually collected a pretty sizable amount of data, and I think data is interesting, so I went ahead and compiled it! This is based on the tags, comments, and reblogs of that post. I did my best to compile everything, including misspellings and odd fonts/typing styles, but I may not have caught every single thing. Overall, though, this should be very representative of the information from that post.
Without further ado, here are Tesblr’s favorite cities:
Tumblr media
Riften had an overwhelming majority, being 93 people’s home city. This was 28 more than second place, Falkreath at 65.
After Falkreath, Whiterun, Anvil, Balmora, and Cheydinhal were very close, from 64-59 votes each.
Markarth, Solitude, and Skingrad were the next group, from 53-40 votes each.
The rest of the cities that had votes in the double digits, in descending order were Bruma, Bravil, Daggerfall, Riverwood, Morthal, Rimmen, Leyawiin, Chorrol, Alinor, Imperial City, Winterhold, Windhelm, Vivec, Raven Rock, Dawnstar, and Sadrith Mora, ranging from 24-11 votes each.
Funnily enough, many comments about Markarth mentioned it being an unpopular opinion, despite it coming in at 7th place overall.
6 people each voted for Solsteim, Rivenspire, and Cyrodiil, which are notably not cities.
The most commonly misspelled city was Leyawiin, with 5 alternate spellings in the notes.
Interestingly, two people voted for Helgen, and both of them misspelled it as “Helgan.” (I also wonder how much Elder Scrolls you’ve played if your favorite city is Helgen? But I digress x3).
Under the cut I will leave the rest of the cities that got votes in the single digits! How did your favorite city stack up? Is it rare? Were you surprised by these results?
