Pomegranate picking. This work was inspired by Katsushika Hokusai's hokusai manager. I drew it on thumbhole-sized paper using pen, acrylic gouache, and watercolor pencils.

I always wanted to create a magazine cover, and while I was thinking of a subject to draw, it occurred to me that I never made an illustration for these two! So I present you the first issue of Paradox !

Lovely together! I asked @deskaisers for their permission to do a free art request of them with Hokusai Masaki since they got into Paradox Live! Aren't they so adorable? 🥺✨️💕

Did someone say “draw self indulgent family bonding that would make repressed 16 year old Tessa super happy”?
Found family is out, forced proximity family who collectively dropped the braincell is in.
Did we buy the Hokusai Lego set? Yes.
Did I immediately consider that Deeply Traumatized Mom Dad (with art historian parents) would fucking love it? Yes.
Did I make it peaceful and heartwarming? What are you, a lawyer?

Honestly this manga is the funnies thing! It’s what got me into japanology in the first place. It’s so fun and educational and twisted at times, and the characters are loveable yet unstable af… I love it sm!

30 Days Paradox Live Challenge
DAY 4: Favourite Ship
🎶Hokushion
Ship?? ME?? It's rare, I can probably count my ships on one hand. For this specific case I don't even know if I ship them platonically or romantically, the only thing I'm sure of is that the first time they interacted I thought "WAIT! There's some chemistry between them, I like it". Let me elaborate:
We all know Shion is...particular, he is some kind of hedonist after all (he was very explicit in Catharsis, yeah), but despite his behaviour he hasn't a true connection with someone and moreover he has some trauma related to his appearence. So, just imagine how he felt when this big gentle giant spoke to him without judgment and ulterior motives. The same goes for Hokusai, Shion didn't judge him when he knew Hokusai's father was in prison. Very sweet, I don't know how else to say it. This subtle mutual understanding between them sends me crazy asandjfks
However, every time they see each other the atmosphere between them is always so calm, I think it's wholesome. I need more interaction between Hokusai and Shion, PLEASE!
