you were just a normal college girl living a kinda normal life at home with her father and his new wife. you had pretty good grades but didn’t have a lot of friends so you usually spent most of the time alone. it was always a relief to come home to your room and crash down on your bed.
you had fallen asleep as soon as you came home and woke up two hours later by a gentle knock on the door and your dad telling you to come down for dinner. you rubbed your eyes and stretched out your body before you sat up and did a fast check on your phone, your dad had tried to call you several times and sent a text message telling you to put on some nice clothes and then he had a surprise waiting for you. you furrowed your eyebrows wondering what it could possibly be. well maybe you should get your ass up and put on some clothes. as always you opened your wardrobe and just stared for a couple minutes because you never had anything to wear. after a while you remembered you got a new black skirt and your paired it together with a black top and some silver accessories. you took one last look in the mirror before you headed downstairs. you were met by your dad, his wife ofc and a guy.. you felt your heart drop down to your stomach. “there you are y/n! we’ve been waiting for you sweetheart” your dad greeted you. the tall blonde guy in your hallway gave you a little smile which made your cheeks blush. “this is Mingi, my son” your stepmother said patting him on the back. “you’ve never met each other yet so we thought it was time” your dad looked at you with a big smile on his face. you gave Mingi a shy smile and went into the dining room along with the others.
your parents talked the most of the time while you and Mingi were quiet, you could feel his gaze on you and it gave you butterflies. your dad never told you his new wife had a son so this felt so strange somehow. Mingi were one and a half year older than you and you would lie to yourself if you said he wasn’t cute cause omg. “Mingi’s gonna move in with us” you almost choked on your water when you heard what your dad just blurted out. “t-that’s great” was all you could say. you felt your cheeks getting hotter and the butterflies went crazy now. you’ve only known about your so called stepbrother for an hour and had now become a blushing mess.
after dinner your parents went into the living room to watch some late night tv and Mingi went to grab some of his stuff. you had went back to your room trying to take in the new information and you seriously didn’t know what to think. you were sure things would get easier when you got used to all this but right now it felt like your whole life had changed. you could hear someone walking up the stairs and you knew exactly who. it was Mingi and he went by your room and into the room across yours to unpack. he raised one eyebrow at you before he disappeared. gosh isn’t he dreamy you thought to yourself. you decided to remove your makeup and change into your sleepwear before heading to bed, you couldn’t stop thinking about him and it bothered you like crazy.
the next day you woke up around 1pm and you’d got a message from your dad. they had went to some friends and would be back in a few hours. you put the phone down on your nightstand and went to the bathroom to wash up. when you got downstairs you heard a deep voice from the kitchen. “morning” you almost jumped a bit cause you had completely forgotten that you weren’t alone anymore. Mingi sat at the kitchen island eating a bowl of cereal, he’d just woken up too. “good morning” you said a smile forming on your face. there was some awkward silence for a bit, you sat yourself at the opposite side of kitchen island facing Mingi while you ate your breakfast. yet again you could feel him watching you and your heart skipped a beat. “sooo.. y/n huh? that’s a pretty name” his deep morning voice vibrating right through you. “well, thank you” you blushed. “doing anything today?” he asked as he gave you a little smile. dang that smile could make you melt like a popsicle. “nothing special, I guess I’ll watch some tv” you replied while putting your dishes away. Mingi couldn’t help but sneak a peek down to your ass that was covered up by a pair of very short sleeping shorts, your ass cheeks falling out of them.
you put on your favourite show and made yourself comfortable on the couch. Mingi decided to join you cause he didn’t have anything better to do and that would be a good excuse to be with you more. you were watching an adult romance series on Netflix, you loved those kinds cause it always gave you butterflies. Mingi was sitting beside you and he was on his phone almost the whole time. you felt yourself heat up when a hot scene came up on the screen. you tried to keep yourself calm but you couldn’t help but press your thighs together a little. a loud moan came from the tv and caught Mingis attention. “what the..?” was the only thing he said. he turned to you and couldn’t help but notice your state. cheeks flushed, thighs pressed together and bottom lip between your teeth. a smirk formed on his lips looking down at your thighs. “you like this show huh?” he whispered into your ear. you pressed your thighs harder turning to face him. he placed a hand on your thigh giving it a light squeeze earning a little whine from you. his hand travelled to the place you needed him the most, he began to rub small circles on your clothed clit. your eyes shut tight at the sensational feeling. your wetness were leaking through your grey sleeping shorts, Mingi licked his lips at the sight. “damn so wet already” he chuckled. you bucked your hips onto his hand to get some friction. he pulled his hand away and you whined at the loss of contact. “I think we should continue upstairs since our parents could come home anytime” he said taking your hand and dragging you upstairs.
when you got into your room and locked the door you pushed him down on your bed climbing on top of him. you smashed your lips onto his, you opened your mouth welcoming his tongue inside. his hands grabbed your ass cheeks giving them a hard squeeze making you moan into his mouth. you started to place kisses down his neck then lifting up his shirt to place more kisses onto his torso. his low groans made you clench onto nothing. Mingi watched as you went further down to the waistband of his pyjama pants, you brushed your hand over his bulge earning a moan from him. you pulled down his pants revealing his big cock leaking precum at the tip. your eyes widened seeing how big he was. he smirked at your reaction. you didn’t waste any time and got down on him starting to lick up and down his length before putting him into your mouth. the tip hit the back of your throat making you gag, he brushed your hair away from your face. “fuck, just like that” he threw his head back into the pillow. you used your hand at the base of his cock while licking the tip. Mingi fought the urge to fuck up right into your mouth at the feeling. you could feel his dick twitching in your hand so you stroked him faster and put him into your mouth. he let out a cracked moan as you felt him release down your throat. you went up to his face to kiss him letting him taste himself.
he pulled down your shorts and dragged his fingers up and down your folds collecting your juices, never breaking the kiss. he pulled out his fingers and rolled you over onto your back placing himself between your legs. his tip teasing your aching hole. “pls Mingi..” you whined. “so needy darling” he finally pushed himself inside slowly to give you time to adjust. you could literally feel your eyes roll back into your head. you arched your back letting out a long moan, you’d never felt anything like this before. as he began to thrust faster and deeper into you your moans started to sound like something from a porn movie. you put your hand over your mouth to keep quiet cause you wouldn’t want to take the risk of your dad hearing his daughter being fucked by her stepbrother.
Mingi watched as his cock went in and out of your wet pussy. he pushed down his hand on your lower abdomen feeling how deep he was in you. he hit your g spot over and over again and you could feel yourself clench around his cock and a knot building up in your lower belly. Mingi sped up his pace feeling how close he was too. “damn…fuck” he threw his head back, his big adams apple bulging out as you felt him paint your walls white. not long after your knot loosened and you milked all over his dick. he leaned down to give you a kiss, cock still inside you.
“guys we’re home! and we got takeout with us!”
shit!
“we better get down there before they suspect anything” you said smiling. Mingi pulled out grabbing a towel to get you cleaned up. “since we can’t date I guess we’ll continue to fuck instead” he said with a playful smirk on his face. you just rolled your eyes at his comment. you both put on some clothes and went downstairs.
“what have you two been up to today?” your stepmom asked. you felt yourself blushing yet again. “we’ve been talking and got to know each other a little better” you said looking at Mingi. “well that’s great! I hope you’ll get close soon” she said proudly.
oh if she only knew.

SAMMY'S GIRL (ii) | s.kerr
Tumblr media
summary: MORE headcanons on your relationship with sam, read part one here.
pairing: fem!reader x sam kerr
notes: getting out lots of little headcanons because they're just so much fun to do. sammy's girl is my favourite of all my girls (completely bias, sorry) but if you want to see what other 'wags' are in my lil universes, check out my masterlists!! each 'wag' is also going to get their own tag, so check those out for little file facts, or ask questions/send thoughts so we can add to them all!! lots of love
as previously established, you’ve grown up with sam right
you’ve known her through every little phase and every weird obsession she’s ever had
you know her deepest secrets and she knows yours
its honestly quite jarring because you both know each other better than you know yourselves
you’re not at sporty as sam, only relaly dabbling in school netball for carnivals and stuff when they needed extra girls
but sam would try and include you as much as she could in all aspects of her career
if she was having a solo gym day, or just going on a walk
guess whos coming with!?!!!
its you!!!!!!
if she wants a swim at the beach for recovery
she is making sure that you tag along
(not just to see you in your bathers, its for recovery, have some professionalism please)
sam has spent half of her life without you and having to settle for seeing you through a screen
so once you’re in london with her permanently, she is making the most of that
she needs to shower? you’re passing her body wash
she’s hungry? shes making two servings and you’re eating with her
she wants a coffee? youre heading to your favourite spot
you are always around
and sam isn’t having it if you’re not
when she does have to go away?
youre getting texts from guro, erin and millie complaining about her
‘omg she wont shut up about you’
‘if sam doesn’t stop talking im gonna clock her y/n, i won’t be held responsible for my actions’
‘she’s at a new level of pathetic, please come get your girl’
but they understand, they love you too
the entirety of the chelsea squad know you’re at every game
they have a dedicated seat for you in the family and friends section
everyone is away that it’s your seat
millie’s fiancée wards people away from it
he once had to face the consequences of sitting in your seat
he wouldn’t wish an angry emma hayes or sam kerr upon anyone
but its not all about sam
she is just your biggest cheerleader
you were able to finish your degree online and were lucky enough that your credentials in australia carried over to the uk
so you started working there
im picturing sports journalism???????? you were forced to be around sport your entire life that it kinda just became a natural thing
you were so well-informed on so many different sports it was crazy
sam loved plugging anything you were writing
you posted a new article? she’s sharing that shit on her instagram story
you won an award for a piece? she’s at the ceremony
you’re working overtime to get a project finished? she’s ordering you dinner to the office
as much as sam is a professional and very famous athlete
she’s still just sammy to you
and she’s never forgotten that
but to her, you are the best thing to ever happen to planet earth
and she makes sure that everyone knows
living with sam is lots of fun
you relish in all of the time you get to spend together
call it making up lost time
sure, she leaves her stuff everywhere
but you’re guilty of that too
you still hold each other accountable
‘sam you didn’t do the dishes’
‘okay and you didn’t hang out the laundry’
‘… fair enough’
making dinner together is just chaotic
sam can only cook breakfast, she excels at smashed avocado
so she really lets you take the reins on dinners
she succumbs to the sou-chef life
you force her to watch movies with you
she argues and says that tv shows are better
(even though you know she’s completely invested in whatever film you’ve chosen)
you have a little brother who just idolises sam
and he has since the day he was born
he was a classic accident child, a real surprise for your parents
but watching him grow up was just the best
hes the biggest women’s soccer fan you know
he’s up-to-date on all of the woso drama
definitely can tell you the entire timeline and drama of the mcfoord relationship
so when he’s old enough
sam flies him over to the uk all the time
he just loves sam so much
he wears her jersey to every game, saying he doesn’t want anyone elses
(maybe maccas, but that’s a different story)
and sam is estatic to have him there
definitely walks out with him as her mascot on multiple occasions
sam isn’t super touchy feely in front of others
but when shes drunk, she can’t help it
she just wants to hold you and she doesn’t care who’s around to see it
sam really loves watching men at bars or in clubs try to hit on you
just to go and ruin their fun
it’s her favourite pastime really
sam’s extra sappy and clingy when tired
after a big night or a tiring game, she wants to curl up next to you and have you hold her until she falls asleep
sometimes it’s a foreign feeling for you
sam is almost always the big spoon
so you really drink in the feeling whenever she feels vulnerable enough to let you hold her for a change
sam is also extra attentive when you’re not feeling well
she’s so doting and always checking in on you
if shes around, you’re being waited on hand and foot
‘are you okay? do you have a temp?’
‘let me get you some water’
‘i don’t like the sound of that cough, y/n’
if she’s away for a game, your phone does not stop ringing
she’s always texting when she has a spare minute
and if she has more than ten minutes to spare, she’s calling you to see how you are
sam just adores you
the fans adore you even more
the amount of tiktok edits of you and sam are crazy
the one of you in the stands after her goal against england in the world cup went viral
the way you jumped out of your seat and almost threw yourself over the barrier was on the news the next day
the clip continuing as sam ran over to your section, as you both shouted in celebration to each other
or the clips in the matildas doco series of the two of you
the lesbians went feral for that shit
everyone wants what you have
everyone wants you
you are that bitch
sam knows it too
and she’s not afraid to let people know just who you are
because you’re hers
forever and always

So a couple more half asleep random thoughts on my latest DP AU where Danny accidentally calls CW dad and then no one believes he’s not actually his dad (Link here)
Mainly Fright Knight. He hears Phantom called CW father and he starts thinking about kid running into fights with the odds stacked against him, ridiculously stubborn and noble, completely protective over the land he’s claimed to protect and winning through determination and force of will and suddenly is remembering what Pariah was like when he was younger and before the madness took hold and is 1000% sure Danny is Pariah and CW’s biological kid no one will convince him otherwise and after his mini breakdown that he literally tried to kill his prince he decides it is his duty to protect Phantom at all costs. He shows up and swears fealty to him and Danny is just like ‘wtf wtf wtf’ and tries explaining that he called Clockwork dad on accident and oh god he’s embarrassed enough about calling his sort of mentor dad but
Danny: Look Clockwork is not my dad and Pariah definitely isn’t
Fright Knight: Yes they are
Danny:...I-what no no they are not
Fright Knight: They most definitely are my prince
Danny:...
It’s a lost cause trying to explain they’re not Clockwork has shown the ancients the actual timeline they still don’t believe him.
Fright knight is not only super protective of Danny, Dash literally doesn't know what him but he ended up though a wall last time he tried to mess with Danny (Danny is torn between fuck you almost killed him and fuck that was amazing) but also very concerned about the future ghost kings education he finds out Danny is struggling and goes apeshit in the ghost zone like ‘ALL OF YOU WILL STAY ON THIS SIDE OF THE PORTAL OUR FUTURE KING NEEDS TO DO CALCULUS’ he also is deeply concerned his prince does not know about ghost zone lore so Danny ends up getting ghost history lessons....Jazz gatecrashes them, she is taking all the notes (She’s also heard about Pariah and CW relationship and is very invested)
Also he starts teaching Danny more fighting and Danny wants to argue and should be trying to convince everyone he’s not the ghost zone prince...but he’s sword lessons and it’s super cool.
He’s kinda just getting used to that when the ancients show up with presents to see their Nephew. Danny feels super awkward and is just very glad Jack and Maddie are still in the basement having an existential crisis and looking over all their life's work to busy to come upstairs and see all of the most powerful ancient ghosts of the infinite realms having tea around the table.... at least he gets to hear embarrassing stories about Pariah and Clockwork.
Clockwork shows up as well Danny is awkward as hell around him at first because haven’t really interacted since he pulled the ultimate accidentally calling your teacher dad move.
CW: I wouldn’t bother trying to keep explaining it to them Daniel just accept fate
Danny:...uh why is it for the best timeline
CW:No. They’re just to stubborn to accept anything else.
CW: In all timelines all trying to explain does is lead to a headache
He also not so subtly says that well he also sees Danny as a son and that he wouldn’t mind having that bond... it’s the weirdest most roundabout way to adopt someone.
Pariah shows up and instead of the dramatic reunion he and CW slide just into how they were before Pariah went crazy aka the most mushy romantic couple of all time, like able to kill you with a thought but to busy getting lost in each others eyes to think about it.
The observants are actually super happy Pariah is back because they totally shipped it they spent centuries observing these twos ridiculous pinning and romance and then Pariah went crazy and sunk their ship and so they are super happy to have their ship back they are sitting back watching eating popcorn watching this surprise child plot twist gasping and with their own cork board of conspiracies like ‘OMG THAT’S WHY CLOCKWORK SAVED HIM YES DOTS CONNECTED’
Bonus: Vlad bursts in to do evil plan he’s been plotting and... there is the fight Knight all the ancients, Clockwork and Pariah all just sitting there...he just very slowly walks backwards out of the house...Fright Knight still tracks him down and kicks his ass.
Bonus bouns: Dani. The zones find about Dani and lose their minds more nobody even questions how they could have 2 kids of different ages at all, they’re all like you control time weird shit happens but for sure that’s your kid.
Vlad: I made them that’s a clone of Daniel
Ghost Zone: ha right nah that’s Pariah and Clockworks kid
Vlad*Eye twitching*
Dani finds herself scooped up by Fight knight calling her the princess of the ghost zone and that her fathers have been looking for her and she’s confused but also like...ok and just rolls with it.

Gojo Christmas HCs
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
Pairing: Gojo x gn!reader
Warnings: Cursing
Word Count: 557
A/N: Heyy~~ I such a joke honestly, posting my Christmas fic on new years, but in my defence, I haven't had access to my laptop since I wrote Liar pt.4, anyways, Enjooooy
(Requests open)
Tumblr media
You wake up to being snuggled tightly within his arms while it snows outside.
Refuses to get up anytime before 10am so u probably just end up falling back asleep.
Wakes you up to go downstairs and make breakfast “together” bc let’s be honest this man can’t even boil a rock.
Taking a bath/shower together is a MUST
Deeefinately forces you two to wear matching pjs or like those sets where the guy wears the pants and no shirt and the girl wears like, the huge shirt without pants or sum
You would walk into the living room and just find it like, STUFFED with presents and he’ll just sit there with the smuggest grin on his face while u just stand there looking stupid.
If it’s your first Christmas together I can imagine he would be scared out of his mind about whether you would like the presents, whether you are proud or happy with him, whether they were even good enough for you. E.t.c (he would never let it show though)
If it isn’t your first Christmas together though he would probably still be nervous but probably more confident in his gifts. (he just wants to make you happyy*sobs*)
I can see him getting you sentimental stuff like an instrument you had as a kid or your favourite book but also just random expensive shit like a diamond bracelet. Or something batshit crazy like a lambo or sum.
I feel like you would get him something extremely sentimental and something he really wants, and you give the sentimental one second to catch him off guard.
Like imagine giving him the most expensive box of mochi you spent an entire month's worth of your salary and he gets all excited then you shyly slide him a scrap book full of pictures with you two throughout the whole year or since you got together.
And you do that sappy thing where you leave half of it empty for memory’s you’ll make in the future. Ewwwwwwwwwwwww
I feel like he would just look down at it too stunned to speak with big bug eyes and when he looks back up at you he starts tearing up
He would hug you and like, genuinely just breakdown into sobs, and he won’t stop for like another good two minutes.
Like, that is genuinely the best, sweetest most heartfelt gift he has ever received.
From then on I can fully see him always carrying a polaroid with him everywhere he goes just take pictures of you two together, (but mostly just you really) And when he gets home he pulls out the scrapbook and gets to work.
I can just imagine like, walking into your room and seeing him in his pjs on the bed doing that thing where you lie on your stomach and kick your legs back and forth and he’s like, sticking a picture or drawing hearts around a picture of you with his tongue sticking out. Akduhcrtfrw38r7fyu efgujd (oops, I forgot this is a Christmas HC)
I can’t imagine him really wanting to go out so you would probably stay at home baking cookies, snuggling watching movies and doing all that lovey dovey shit couples do.
The best Christmas he has ever had in his entire life, and one he definitely won’t be forgetting…ever

hihi maybe a fic where reader is just an absolute menace and badass like her mother neytiri!! everyone in the clan is prob trying to become mates with her but she doesnt like it at all
summary: [y/n] sully was independent, strong, scary, clearly the daughter of neytiri. but, her impeccable game constantly reminds everyone who her father was.
a/n: two in one day ?? what ?? crazy. anyway, hopefully you enjoy. she’s kinda a cutie in this, like okay yes go boss. also i cannot stop making random original characters that are not at all canon to atwow, but you know what, it is what it is. feedback, reblogs, and reqs are always appreciated !!
tags: @pinkhotdogsfr @wxnderingthoughts @ellielovesrobinarellano ( check out my tag guide !! )
warnings: [y/n] being a boss, sully siblings are so cute and supportive, some annoying boy attitude, guys being kinda creepy and obsessive, [y/n]’s undeniable and accidental rizz, non-consensual touch ( like a touch on the arm, but still aggravating )
2.5k words
independence
Tumblr media
GIF by world-of-pandora
if there was one thing about [y/n] sully, it was that she was her mother’s daughter. any na’vi that knew the two of them could tell you this. from her skills on the battlefield to her independence, it was clear to all that neytiri had raised her eldest daughter in a way that she had no need to depend on anyone other than herself, as every young female should.
as a result, [y/n] sully stood among some of the strongest warriors in her age group. there was a good amount of na’vi—a solid six—her age that provided hope for the future. when it came their time to protect the clan, jake and neytiri lived in a little bit more peace knowing that the omaticaya would be safe in their hands
it was one of those days, with the core six, in which [y/n] spent her afternoon scouting. they’d split into two groups a few minutes prior, deciding to cover ground much quicker while separated.
“hey, [y/n]!” ole’ey called from behind, her friend’s voice becoming apparent directly in [y/n]’s ear thanks to the intercom necklaces they wore ( although, they were only allowed to wear them while on patrol. )
“hm?” [y/n] hummed, her peripheral vision picking up an image of ole’ey, a smirk resting on her face.
“has kllalu asked you out yet?”
on the other side of her, [y/n] heard her other friend, meyio, guffaw, losing his mind over the situation. “kllalu?” he screamed, not even bothering to go through comms because of how loud he was.
immediately, [y/n] dropped her face into her hands. “are you kidding?”
“so, i’m going to take that as a no.”
the sully daughter collapsed on her ikran, laying stomach down as she leaned the top-half of her weight against the creature’s neck. “i hate my life.”
“oh, please!” meyio teased. “you just have an impeccable amount of game. it’s natural!”
“it comes from your father’s side,” ole’ey added, not missing a beat, sending meyio once again as he screamed in laughter.
[y/n] cringed, hitting her forehead against her ikran. “that is disgusting. do not ever say that again. like, ever.”
“it’s just the plain truth!”
the three of them, [y/n], meyio, and ole’ey, were, if anything, an iconic trio. ever since [y/n] started training with other children around the clan, the three immediately drifted towards each other. after five long years later, neytiri and jake were practically their second pair of parents.
as a result of their friendship, all three of them improved their skills together, spending their time sparring with each other. they still often reminded each other of the day that meyio said something offensive—probably having to do with the other two being girls—and as a result, ole’ey and [y/n] absolutely annihilated him the next day at training. it even got the point in which the two young girls were reprimanded by jake ( although, neytiri was absolutely losing it when he came home and told his mate the story. )
but, no matter how often the two girls practiced their fighting skills by beating up meyio, they were all the best of friends. so, that meant immense teasing.
“i do not care what the plain truth is—you do not say that about somebody’s father to his daughter.” [y/n] was exasperated. not only did she have to deal with yet another male trying to convince her that they were ‘made for each other,’ but now she couldn’t get the thought of her father’s charm out of her head.
“okay, moving on from the epitome of hot dads,” meyio interrupted, causing a cry of anguish to leave [y/n]’s throat as she slammed her head against her ikran again, “what do you think kllalu is gonna say?”
as [y/n] attempted to ignore her friends, the fake deep voice of ole’ey kept her more than engaged in the moment. “‘oh, [y/n]. you’re like, as pretty as the stars or whatever. but, you know what’d be prettier? our future kids.’”
“ew!” she groaned, her hands going to her temples as to keep herself from jumping off of her ikran and strangling her friends.
“oh, that’s good,” meyio complimented, to which ole’ey sent a mock bow. “how about… ‘[y/n], i visited the spirit tree last night. i think, now i could be wrong, but… i think i saw us. together.’”
“now that’s just foul.” [y/n] argued. “using eywa’s visions as a way to bag me? he wouldn’t.”
meyio raised his hands defensively. “if you say so… but, i wouldn’t put it past him.”
“you two are unbelievable. this is like, my worst nightmare, and you’re making a joke out of it! some friends you are,” she grumbled.
“i’m sorry, [y/n],” ole’ey trailed, the smile in her voice apparent. “it’s not that we’re laughing about you having a problem.”
“yeah!” meyio added. “we’re laughing about this being the eight-hundreth time having the same exact problem.”
[y/n] groaned. “i know.” she shook her head, gazing at the forest below them. “why do they all keep trying. i have rejected every single one of them—why do they think that they’re different?”
meyio whistled at that. “what can i say, men love a good chase.”
she rolled her eyes. “i am not a chase, i am… i don’t even know! but i am definitely not a chase.”
“yes, you are not a chase because you don’t let them chase. i have never seen you give any one of them a chance!” ole’ey laughed. she wasn’t scrutinizing, and [y/n] knew that, she was just stating the truth. and still, it was a hard truth to swallow.
[y/n] had never been an easy friend. she grew up as the daughter of the toruk makto, and that meant that not only did her parents expect a lot from her, but so did everyone else in the clan. those were the words that motivated her to become such an amazing warrior—that, and the fact that she always wished to be like her mother.
she never really questioned it ever since her young mind decided who she was going to be. no, because she set a goal, and she would do whatever it took to accomplish that goal. and now, she’d finally reached it. who is she to become now?
she’d never learned to make friends—to even be friendly—she only wound up with meyio and ole’ey because she was lucky. she was, in all honesty, terrified of finding even a potential mate, because that meant she had to acknowledge that she was moving on into the future without even the slightest plan. all she wanted to do, for once in her life, was to enjoy living as a teenage na’vi.
later that afternoon, [y/n], meyio, and ole’ey sat in the clearing, alongside all four of the other sully siblings. after their morning of patrol, the trio was considerably tired, but that did not stop meyio and [y/n] from tackling each other.
all around the pair circled the rest of the kids, egging on the fight. it was, of course, a simple spar, and was something that they considered very normal in their routine.
“meyio, i swear to eywa if you lose, i am going to murder you!” lo’ak yelled from the sidelines, a threat that was motivated after he and ole’ey made bets on who would win.
“just keep doing what you’re doing, bud,” ole’ey added with a smirk, causing kiri to burst into laughter.
tuk was sat atop neteyam’s shoulders, allowing for a better view of their scrap. “meyio is kind of bad,” she mumbled, a comment that had her oldest brother wheezing for breath.
[y/n] was, by far, dominating. as she always did. at that point, after knowing her for five years, meyio had only a thirty-two percent win rate, so he was never shocked when the fight ended with him crying, “mercy!”
this fight, however, went a little different.
because as [y/n] triumphantly sat on his back, her hands pushing his face down into the mud as she teased, “you did this to yourself!” all of her confidence flew down the drain the moment she saw a familiar male in the distance.
immediately, the girl stopped, and with the lack of pressure against his neck, meyio flipped her over. [y/n] sputtered for breath, her lungs heaving after the wind was knocked out of her.
“hah!” meyio triumphed, only stopping when he noticed the look on her face. “[y/n]?”
“oh, come one!” lo’ak groaned. “meyio, finish the fight so i don’t lose any more money on you than i already have!”
when meyio ignored lo’ak’s comment, everyone grew curious. each other them took a step forward, peeking at the expression on [y/n]’s face.
based on her wide eyes that stared in the distance, kiri decided to follow her gaze. when she caught sight of kllalu, she bust into laughter. “are you scared of little-old kllalu? the one who we used to call ‘stick?’”
ole’ey sputtered a laugh. “why’d you call him ‘stick’”
“he stabbed himself with a stick and wouldn’t stop crying.”
the girl gasped. “oh my eywa, i remember that!”
meanwhile, meyio mumbled, “that is the dumbest nickname.”
ignoring the teasing comments, neteyam took tuk off of his shoulders, placing her on the ground before he walked closer to his sister. “what’d kllalu do?”
“nothing!” she cried. “that’s the problem!”
lo’ak looked unimpressed at her answer. “now, what is that supposed to mean? we are not mind readers, despite norm’s book of theories.”
“uh correction,” kiri pointed out. “norm’s theory is that the plants were mind readers.”
“guys!” tuk whined. “[y/n]’s upset.”
“right!” meyio called, a smirk pulling onto his face. “she’s upset because kllalu is planning to ask her out.”
both sully boys groaned at that information. “another one?” lo’ak asked, exasperated.
[y/n] lifted herself off of the ground, attempting to brush off as much dirt as she could. “i’m as unhappy about it as you are! this is like, the millionth rejection i’ve ever had to do!”
“will they ever catch on?” neteyam groaned, holding his head in his hands.
“that’s what i’m wondering!” [y/n] cried, staring up at the sky with an unamused look on her face.
“i’m telling you,” meyio yelled. “they love the chase.”
all at once, every single sully sibling responded with, “there is no chase!”
silence followed soon after, leaving meyio blinking absentmindedly at them. “okay,” he said, smacking his lips. “noted!”
“au,” [y/n] cried, shaking her head. “he is nearly here.”
“okay,” tuk yelled. “everyone be quiet and stare at him so we scare him away.” her idea had everyone but [y/n] shouting words of agreement.
immediately, [y/n] shook her head. “no—no!” she sighed. “look, i need to do this myself. just… act normal. i don’t know! i’m just gonna say what finally needs to be said.”
“and what is that?” kiri asked, eyebrows raised.
but, before she could answer, kllalu stepped into a radius that was far too close to answer without him hearing. so, as the remind them of their job, [y/n] sent one last look at the group of kids. quiet.
“[y/n]!” the boy greeted, a smirk placed on his lips. immediately, all six of the kids behind [y/n] were set off with annoyance.
she nodded her head. “kllalu.” [y/n]’s tone was dry, already setting the mood for an awkward conversation.
“how are you?” he attempted, stopping in front of her.
“i am doing great.”
he nodded slowly. “nice!” this was an extremely painful experience for everyone that was watching.
when she left the conversation hanging, kllalu cleared his throat. “so,” he continued slowly. “i was wondering if i could speak with you?”
she cocked her head ever-so-slightly. “you are speaking now, no?”
“uh,” he swallowed. “i was thinking, like… alone?”
immediately she shook her head. “i’d rather not leave my siblings.” she blinked. “and ole’ey and meyio.” behind her, the six of them waved cheerfully, leaving kllalu dumbstruck. “whatever you must say, you are fully capable of saying in front of them.”
“right!” he nodded. “yeah, no, i totally get it.” kllalu looked at the ground, stretching his arm to scratch the back of his neck. silence returned.
“you were going to say something, kllalu?”
he nodded. “uh, yeah.” her patience was thinning by the second. “i was just, uh, thinking. because, um, last night i visited the spirit tree—”
“no, kllalu.” ( behind [y/n], meyio was silently pointing and laughing at ole’ey since he guessed correctly. )
he blinked. “no? you don’t even know what i was going to say.”
she stared at him with a look. really? “i am not dumb.”
“but, why? i mean, i know you’ve rejected every single guy who has attempted, but why? why all of them?” he shook his head in disbelief. “how do you know i am not the right one?” as soon as kllalu’s hand grabbed her bicep, the entire group of six behind them burst.
“what do you think you’re doing?” neteyam growled, pushing himself off of the ground.
lo’ak was quick behind him. “she said no, dumbass.”
“do you need help understanding?” kiri took a step towards them.
with a huff, [y/n] held a hand up to her siblings and friends. once they’d frozen in place, she then grabbed his wrist tightly, ripping it off of her. “are you daft?”
“wha—no!”
“i will repeat it to you in words that your small brain can understand, and if you could do me a wonderful favor and tell every male that wants to ask me out, i would greatly appreciate it.” she stepped towards him, teeth bared. “i am in no need of a male’s help, nor his love. i am not a challenge, i am not a game to see whether or not you will be the one to convince me, i am not something to chase. you and all the other dumb males will stop asking me, because it is becoming offensive.” she bit her bottom lip, a mocking smile appearing on her lips. “i have made it this far independently. i will not let that go by having a male choose me as his mate. when the time comes, i will choose. do you understand?”
he nodded.
she raised her eyebrows. “do you understand?”
“yes.”
“good.” she stepped back, feeling the safety of her friends and family. “now, please go away. you have ruined a perfectly fine afternoon.”
as they watched him stumble away, [y/n] felt not only her own pride swell in her heart, but the pride of her friends and siblings. sure, they knew [y/n] sully was strong, scary, all the good stuff, but it was always refreshing to watch it come out.
it always reminded them of why the adults of the clan were not at all worried for the omaticayans future. there was nothing to worry about when warriors like [y/n] existed.

i'm not wanting anything (but your loving, your body, and a little bit of your brain)
Tumblr media
pairing: shuri x fem!reader
summary: being an avenger doesn't leave you much time for college life (let alone a girlfriend), you and gwen stacy accidentally show up to a halloween party in a couple's costume, and shuri is determined to prove who you really belong to.
warnings: allusions to PTSD and death, mentions of alcohol and partying and smut - fingering (both shuri and reader receiving), oral (shuri receiving), thigh riding....
song inspo: "thats what i want" by lil nas x
a/n: hello!! this is my first time posting a fic on tumblr and im so nervous but very excited because shuri has been on my mind for the longest time. reader is an avenger in her senior year of college and best friends/roommates with peter parker. this is set before black panther: wakanda forever, and after endgame but some things are different (the blip was only a year, steve and tony both died in the final battle with thanos). anyways, please enjoy!!
Tumblr media
before the blip, you had the whole work/life/superhero thing (mostly) down to a science. now, everyone was still processing the absolute mindfuck of half the universe being snapped away by a mad titan, only to be returned by a group of heroes one year later.
in the midst of it all, the girl you'd travelled across time and space for somehow ended up low on your priority list, but you found comfort in the fact that it was mutual. you were busy in new york, with college (senior year was kicking your ass) and avengers work (trying to keep the city safe with half the team gone and the others scattered across the universe was exhausting) and your internship at oscorp (basically unpaid labor, but you needed the credit to graduate). shuri spent most of her time catching up on what she missed, working on scientific and technological developments in wakanda whenever she wasn't travelling with her brother around the world for united nations or wakandan outreach reasons. there was only so much calling or texting that can be done before your relationship started to feel like an afterthought.
tonight was supposed to change all that.
harry osborn was throwing a 'halloween in january' party. shuri was in new york with t'challa, but she'd promise to keep this night free, and you promised the same. you were looking forward to being surrounded by a crowd of drunk 20-somethings, taking shots, dancing to music that was way too loud, feeling shuri next to you.
normally, you didn't dress up for the holiday - wearing a supersuit all the time kinda takes the novelty away from wearing a costume - but if halloween could be in january, you decided tonight would be the exception. you'd decided on a red lace bralette with a matching vinyl skirt, fishnet stockings, and a headband with devil horns. you didn't normally show this much skin. it was supposed to be a surprise for shuri, and the hope was that the outfit would drive her crazy. you had finished decorating your face with glitter and were about to swipe on some red liquid lipstick when the text signal rang from your phone.
shuri ♡
i won't be able to come to the party tonight - brother wants me to join him at an ambassador's dinner. i'm sorry. love you.
you knew that there had been one too many times when you had done the same to her - needing to attend to your avengers duties instead of spend time together, cancelling at the last minute on plans you were both looking forward to. you would see each other next time one of you happened to be in the same place, which started to feel less and less likely. that was just the way things were. you were fine with it. totally fine.
after you send shuri a quick no worries! i understand, you finish applying your makeup, taking one last look in the mirror, ready to party even if you didn't have your girlfriend by your side.
Tumblr media
harry osborn was shirtless, wearing only a red and gold tie, jeans, and round glasses. you were pretty sure peter choked on spit when harry walked up to you, chest sparkling with a mixture of sweat and glitter under the disco lights.
"magic harry potter, right?" you guessed, glimpsing the lazily drawn lightning bolt on his forehead.
harry grinned and did a little spin to show off his costume. "hogwarts student by day, stripper by night," he said, voice strong over the pounding music. he gestured to your outfit, eyes lingering at the top of your bralette. "you look amazing. and you...." he looked peter up and down. "damn."
peter was wearing an earlier model of his spiderman suit. you'd told him it might not be the best costume to wear when he was still very much clinging to the whole secret identity thing. he didn't particularly care, though: apparently, he overheard a certain heir to the oscorp dynasty gush about how hot spiderman must be under the suit, and how much hotter it would be to be tied up by his webs. needless to say, by the way harry looks equally entranced by peter as peter is by him, your guess is that his eavesdropping paid off.
"come on parker, let's dance." harry didn't wait for an answer, only pushed through the crowd of people. he turned around and locked eyes with peter, a flirtatious grin on his face. you spotted a bar in the corner, and bartenders dressed up as various halloween creatures who walked around with trays of bright neon shot glasses. when a skeleton offered you some, you grabbed a few before they moved on to a trio dressed up as the powerpuff girls.
"i don't have to go if -"
"go," you interrupted, handing peter one of the drinks in your hand. "one of us should get laid tonight."
even though the flashing multicolored lights made it difficult to know for sure, you guessed that peter was blushing. you clinked glasses, downed the shots. peter kissed your cheek.
"love you!" he said before disappearing into the crowd to find his wizard with shining abs.
you smiled, and made your way to the bar. next to the bar was a table of halloween themed snacks - candy, sugar cookies in the shape of ghosts, orange cupcakes and more - so you popped a few pieces of candy corn into your mouth before ordering a drink. you took another jello shot while you waited, this one sweeter than the last and neon green. looking around the room, you were impress by how decorated it was: orange string lights, pumpkins, ghosts and bats floating from the ceiling. you wouldn't have guessed that harry osborn would be into this kind of thing, assuming that he was a trust fund kid used to parties at yacht clubs, but as "monster mash" played through the speakers, you had to admit you were pleasantly surprised.
you scanned the room to see if there was anyone you recognized. you spotted a mermaid making out with a pink power ranger; a group of fairies doing body shots; someone wearing a zombie captain america costume (steve rogers version) and another in a zombie iron man suit, both of which felt more than a little insensitive. it hadn't even been a year since they were gone, and you didn't need the reminder. you glared at the zombies from across the room, and the captain america actually noticed you, offering some sort of awkward salute, like you were a war hero. somehow, that made everything worse and the room suddenly felt suffocating and you just needed some air -
that was how you found yourself on the balcony, overlooking the manhattan skyline. there were heaters outside, thank the gods, so it wasn't too cold. you could still hear the chaos of the party from behind the glass doors, but other than that you were alone - or so you thought.
"you look hot."
you turn around to see gwen stacy in all her glory, wearing an almost perfect replica of claire danes' angel costume from romeo + juliet. the two of you were co-workers more than friends, both working at oscorp along with peter and harry, but it was comforting to see a familiar face.
"and you look amazing," you complimented.
"here, you looked like you might need this." she handed you a sugar cookie decorated with orange frosting and black sprinkles, which you gratefully accepted.
you split it in half, handing one back to gwen before devouring your own. you washed it down with the neon orange drink you'd ordered earlier, before offering a sip to gwen.
"god, is that --"
"vodka and orange crush," you explained. "apparently harry osborn likes to color coordinate his parties like he does his lab notes. at least this makes sense."
gwen laughed, angelic and carefree. "you wanna go back inside? i've always wanted to dance with the devil, and i was hoping this would be my lucky night."
you'd been around long enough to know that gwen was flirting with you and even if you were totally, completely committed and in love with a certain wakandan, you were feeling a little tipsy (probably more from sugar than alcohol, it was hard to tell), and it felt nice to be complimented, to be noticed, to be touched. so, you let gwen lead you to the dance floor, your bodies close together. you let her flirt with you, and maybe flirted a bit with her back. you let people compliment your accidental couples' costume. you weren't sure how long passed, after a while you heard your name being called over the sound of "somebody's watching me" by rockwell. ironic, you knew.
instantly, you recognized the familiar accent and lilt of her voice. you turned around to see shuri, wearing a black satin suit lined with dark burgundy, the shirt underneath long gone, revealing only a black lace bra and a gold body chain and gods she looked so fucking hot right now, it felt like your entire body was on vibrate.
"shuri!" you exclaimed, voice an octave higher than usual, a little thrown off by her sudden appearance. "um, this is gwen."
"hey! it's nice to meet you. i like your vampire costume --"
"i'm not a vampire," shuri interrupted gwen before dragging you to the bar. she leaned against the counter and ordered a whiskey, draining it in one sip before practically slamming the glass back down. "what in bast's name was that?"
"we were dancing," you explained.
"it looked like the two of you were about to rip each other's clothes off," shuri snapped. "i didn't realize that was how you danced in america."
you bristled. shuri was the one who ditched you tonight, and now she was mad at you? "it's a party. we were just having fun. you're overreacting!"
"i showed up to surprise you, but maybe you'd rather go to bed with that angel over there."
"that's bullshit."
"no, what's bullshit is me walking in on my girlfriend grinding on someone else while wearing this outfit." her eyes grazed your body dangerously, and from the clench in her jaw you could tell she had to restrain herself. "so don't pretend you need me here. it seems like there are other girls you'd like to fuck instead."
shuri ordered another drink, but before it arrived, you dragged her to the nearest bathroom. one of the zombie avengers from before - iron man - was about to enter, but you beat them to it, effectively closing and locking to door behind you. you ignored the subsequent banging on the door. harry's apartment was huge; you were sure there was at least one more bathroom, and you couldn't bring yourself to care about whether that asshole got a uti or not.
while shuri remained standing, pacing back and forth on the marble floor, you leaned against the counter, watching her.
"what the fuck was that?" you asked, arms crossed over your chest. "you walk in here accusing me of what - wanting to cheat on you? do you know how ridiculous that sounds?"
"you have to admit, it couldn't have looked good from where i was standing. you grinding on some blonde girl, wearing a couple's costume. don't think i didn't notice that, too."
your cheeks felt warm, knowing that shuri might have a point. "in my defense, the costumes were a coincidence and the grinding.... maybe that was less of a coincidence," you admit. you walk over to shuri, placing your hands on her cheeks to get her to finally look you in the eye. she gently pushed you away, looking down instead, but stayed in front of you. "look, i get that it probably looked like --"
"like you wanted to have gwen's babies."
you took shuri's humor as a good sign, continuing with a soft smile on your face. "please know that i'm 110% committed to you. i would never want to do anything to make you think otherwise. but...i'm not going to apologize for dancing, and having fun, because shit's been....fuck, shuri, it's been hard."
"you don't think it's been hard for me, too?" she scoffed, finally meeting your gaze. "i was gone for an entire year, and the world just moved on, and - and maybe it doesn't need me anymore. maybe you don't -- " she let the words get caught in your throat, and she broke away from your gaze once more.
oh.
what you thought was a burst of jealousy was actually...something else.
"hey." you take her chin between your thumb and your index finger, turning her head to look at you. "hey. i don't care how many dates either of us miss, how many oceans or time zones separate us, you are my person and i'm yours, okay? i will always need you." you moved to drape your arms around her neck, and she instinctively grabbed your hips, hands dangerously close to your ass. your bare torsos touched, the cool metal of her body chain brushing against you and sending shivers throughout your body.
you could tell that her eyes were slightly glazed over, and wondered if she was about to cry. your heart ached as you placed a gentle kiss on her forehead, as if to let her know: i'm here, and i'm not going anywhere anytime soon.
she didn't say anything, but instead closed the gap between your lips. it was such a rush kissing her, after all this time. her lips tasted like whiskey, mixed with sugar from the candy you'd been eating. when you pulled apart you felt dizzy.
"shuri." you whimpered. she lowered her head to the side of your jaw, placing a kiss just below your ear before whispering:
"tell me what you need from me."
"so much," you answered. "i need you on top of me, under me, inside me."
shuri's lips ghosted yours, the hint of a smirk.
"come on, sithandwa," she taunted, letting her xhosa slip out. "you can do better than that. be specific."
"fuck," you groaned. you found yourself being pushed back against the counter, the marble cold against your bare skin. shuri didn't stop kissing you everywhere, her hands exploring your body. "i - i don't know. something, anything, everything. any time i try to get off i need to think of you, but it's never as good as the real thing. and now that you're here now...." your words trailed off into a sigh. right now, you couldn't make a reasonable argument, let alone a logical sentence, even if you tried. you just wanted to relish in the moment - to enjoy her.
you throw your head back when you feel her thumbs brush underneath the vinyl of your skirt, the slight pressure reminding you that she was here, with you, for you.
"fine, i'll decide," she said sternly. she gestured for you to sit on the counter, and you did just that. shuri adjusted her body between your thighs, spreading them wider. she shuddered seeing the red lace thong you wore, the lack of fabric covering you, and met your gaze once again, eyes darker than before. "you don't get to come if you don't stay quiet. so be quiet for me, yeah?"
you bit your lip and nodded. anything, everything. she smirked, pushed the fabric of your panties aside, and sunk two of her fingers into you, knowing you were ready for her. even after weeks, months, apart, shuri could always read your body, know what you needed, how you needed it. the answer was simple, really; like you said, it was always her, her, her.
she kissed you, harsh and messy, tongue and teeth, swallowing your moans as her fingers brought you closer and closer to your release. shuri pulled your bottom lip with her teeth before moving to suck on your collarbone, your jaw, your neck. she bit down on your skin, right at your pulse point.
"i thought - i thought you weren't a vampire," you attempted a joke, but that was a mistake. you'd let a low groan tumble from your lips. another when she let her tongue soothe over the sting from her bite.
"i don't appreciate the attitude," shuri replied, her voice steady, but the corners of her mouth, slightly upturned, threatening to turn into a smile, gave her away. she was loving this. "and, i told you to be quiet."
she removed her fingers from your cunt and promptly shoved them past your red lips. you groaned again when she kissed you roughly, the taste of you dancing across your tongues.
"we'll try one more time to see if you can follow instructions. make me come, and maybe you can finish after."
she swapped your positions and unbuttoned her pants, pulling them off along with her briefs, as you got on your knees before her.
there was a joke here about the devil worshiping an angel, but you were too focused on her. her smell, gods, her taste - it was too overwhelming, and all you wanted was more. you'd spent your whole life on your knees for shuri if you could: worshiping her body, worshiping her.
you draped one of her legs over your shoulder, giving your tongue better access. shuri tugged on your hair slightly and you moaned, sending vibrations up her body.
"bast, that's it," she groaned. you added a finger, while your tongue worked her clit. "fuck. i missed you."
you brought her to the edge, stayed with her as she came. she probably expected you to get back on your feet right away, but you stayed, adding another finger and sucking her clit. she moaned your name.
you pulled away slightly. "one more, pretty girl," you promised. "can you do that for me?" she nodded furiously, and you went back to work.
when she came once more, you kissed her ankle before releasing her leg. shuri pulled you up to your feet, sucked the taste of her off your tongue.
"i missed you, too." you pull away, breathless, heart racing. "do i get to come now?"
shuri hummed. her thumb wiped the smudged lipstick below your lip. she studied you, admired you, like you were a fucking work of art that belonged in the met, like you hadn't just fucked her through two consecutive orgasms in the bathroom at a rich kid's upper east side apartment while michael jackson's "thriller" played outside the door.
"take off your thong." you did as instructed. she pulled you towards her, and lodged a leg in between yours. your cunt brushed against the skin of her thigh, back and forth as shuri guided your hips. "i can't believe you got all dressed up like this. absolutely sinful. and these...."
her hands moved to your thighs, nails digging into the flesh and dragging across your fishnets, effectively ripping them.
"shuri!" you protested, though it sounds like a moan.
"i'll buy you more. now, are you gonna come for me?"
the sound of her voice, the feeling of her skin against your heat, the smell of the two of you intertwining, it was too much. your orgasm crashed into you, and you were grateful that shuri held you through it. you kissed her once more before removing yourself from her grasp, smoothing down your skirt and looking around for your underwear.
"where are my...."
you looked over as shuri tucked your red thong into the inner pocket of her jacket.
"i'm guessing you'll buy me replacements for those, too."
she flashed you a shit eating grin before putting on her own underwear. she then pulled up her pants, not wiping your release from her thigh. the thought of her walking around, leg sticky with you, made your pussy clench.
the sound of someone banging on the door brought you out of your post-orgasm haze.
"holy fuck! hurry up!" they shouted.
"given your costume, i would say that was an unholy fuck," shuri joked, adjusting your headband for you. you nudged her playfully, rolling your eyes.
"how about we stay for a few songs, steal some cupcakes and drinks, and then head back to my place for round two?" shuri nodded.
"perfect."
before you opened the door, you shot her one last devilish grin. "oh. and this time, i'm in charge."
Tumblr media
the next morning, shuri woke up to an empty bed and the smell of burnt cinnamon.
you were sitting on the small window bench in the corner of your room, a tangle of purple yarn on your lap and crochet needle in your hand. even though there was frost on the window, you only wore a pair of boxers printed with the word 'sunday' and cartoon suns, and an empire state university sweatshirt.
"sithandwa? the bed would be warmer with you in it."
you turned to look at her, snuggled under your brightly colored duvet, eyes half open.
"this should help."
you walked over and wrapped a purple scarf around her neck, sitting cross-legged in front of her. shuri sat up, but kept the duvet wrapped around her. there was still glitter decorating your face from last night, and shuri reached out to brush some away.
"you made this for me?" you nodded.
"rhodey taught me how. said it would help with...." you trailed off, not wanting to go into the details of your insomnia. "anyways, t'challa mentioned at our last team meeting that you're going to vienna after this. we went there once to take down a hydra base and gods, it was freezing."
shuri kissed you, pulling you into her blanket cocoon so that you were inside as well, straddling her waist. you broke apart, and she put her hands under your shirt. you shuddered at the sudden contact, her skin cold. her thumbs rubbed circles under your breasts.
"it gets pretty cold in new york, too, doesn't it?"
"yeah, but i can just make another one," you explained, letting your finger trace the details of her face, her sharp jawline. shuri took your hands in hers.
"no, i mean....i can still wear the scarf you made me when i stay in new york."
you brightened like one of those cartoon suns. shuri staying in new york for more than a day, more than a night, hasn't happened in so long. you yearned to wake up next to her regularly, kiss over coffee and bagels, take the subway together, show her the tourist sights you yourself haven't been to since you were a kid - the statue of liberty, coney island, the works.
you stopped your daydreaming there, not wanting to get too ahead of yourself. life is busy. plans change. people leave, for a little bit or forever. it happens.
"like for another day?" you asked, clearing your throat to subdue the excitement in your stomach.
shuri shook her head. you knew it would be too good to be true.
"like for me to move to new york. to live with you."
wait, what.
"shuri. wakanda's your home just as much as new york is mine. i know this long distance thing has been tough on us, but i would never ask you to leave your home, your family."
shuri said your name softly and gently brought her palms to your cheeks.
"you're not asking. i'm offering. the dinner i had to attend last night was to convince the UN to greenlight our wakandan outreach centre in new york," she explained. "if it goes through, my brother suggested that i be the one to lead it. on site."
"and that's what you want?"
"what i want to be wherever you are. i want to be part of your routine. i want to meet your friends, skip work and spend hours in bed together. i want to be here for you - for parties and movie nights and graduation."
at that word, you put your hand up. "i'm going to stop you right there before you send me into an existential crisis."
shuri grinned. "but yes to the rest of it?"
"yes. yes, of course." you pushed her onto the bed so that you were both lying down, facing each other, your legs tangled together. "so...when is this happening?"
"probably in a month, maybe a month and a half. there are still hands to shake, contracts to sign."
"bureaucracy," you sighed. shuri giggled, and your heart fluttered at the thought that you would get to hear that sound on a regular basis in person, not just through cellphone frequencies.
"i am, however, staying for a few more days while my brother takes care of things in vienna. so you're not getting rid of me just yet."
"now that is great news." you kissed her once, then twice.
suddenly, there was a knock on your door.
shuri readjusted your position so that the length of the duvet covered both of your bodies. "come in pete!" you said once she was done.
the door opened and peter parker's face came into view, along with a plate of those ready to bake cinnamon rolls that must have been fresh out of the oven.
"there's extra if you want," he offered.
"that'd be great, thanks." you gratefully accepted the plate, swiping some icing from the edge and licking it off your finger. "what's the special occasion?"
peter cleared his throat. "no special occasion."
you glanced the hickey on his collarbone. "oh, so harry stayed over last night and you wanted to make a good impression on him. breakfast in bed, domestic husband, sort of thing."
"that's not --"
"that's exactly it!" a voice from the kitchen interrupted.
"good morning, harry!" you replied, smiling tauntingly at peter.
"harry, i don't think we've met!" shuri added. "peter has told me so much about you...."
peter groaned and flipped you both off before shutting the door.
"thanks for the cinnamon rolls!" you shouted.
there was a pause before the door opened slightly. a curt, "you're welcome," was offered before it was closed once again.
you got up to put on a record as shuri devoured a cinnamon roll.
"you know, i'm really happy you're staying for a bit because i actually need your help with some things." you ripped off a piece covered in frosting and stuffed it in your mouth.
shuri raised her eyebrow, waiting for you to explain.
"my electric toothbrush has been weird - i can't figure out, for the life of me, what is wrong with it - and i've asked peter to fix it one too many times at this point," you continued, ticking off checkboxes in your head. "i wanted to talk to you about some potential upgrades for my suit that i would love your opinion on. oh, and i'm pretty sure i also broke my vibrator." you grinned sheepishly. "i didn't even bother to ask peter about that one because we don't need to be that close."
shuri stiffled a laugh, muffled by a mouthful of cinnamon and cream cheese frosting. she swallowed. "how do you even break a vibrator?"
"i don't know!" you exclaimed. "that's where you come in."
"baby." shuri wrapped her arms around your torso. "if i'm staying around for a while, you won't need a vibrator."

Storytime
So...it's time to introduce you to the wicked ways of my weirdness, to show you what it's like to be me, starting from the beginning...
Right now I'm in my first semester at Charles university, Prague. I've been living in the Czech republic for a few months now, I chose to move there right after finishing high school in my home country. I spent years preparing for my life abroad, studying the Czech language, taking care of all the formalities that are necessary to move to a new country, most of it by myself, getting to know the country that I consider my home and I wish to live in for the rest of my life.
Why all this? What made me take such an unexpected choice, leaving behind everything I knew, saying goodbye to my friends and family and to the life I could have had in my home country?
As you could probably guess from my username and the content on my blog, the answer is simple:
Jan Palach
Yes. That Jan Palach. The student who on 16th January 1969 set himself on fire in protest of the apathy and resignation of the Czechoslovak people following the soviet occupation of Czechoslovakia. A guy who's been dead for over half a century.
I first heard about him during a time when I was struggling a lot with my mental health. His story gave me strength and hope, what he did reminded me that there are things worth fighting for, things worth living for. I know this sounds kinda paradoxical given that he died because of what he did but that's the point - he was willing to sacrifice his life because he wanted others to live in a better world. He didn't kill himself because he hated life, on the contrary he loved it.
I found something that gave me joy, something I liked doing - reading and watching everything I could find about him. I spent a lot of time researching him and loved every new detail I found out. I started researching him out of admiration for his act and became more and more intrigued by his personality, his interests, the things he believed in...I look up to him a lot. It's incredible how much this helped me getting better mentally and eventually healing from the worst of my mental issues. I started looking forward to the future again, especially after visiting the Czech Republic for the first time.
I came to Prague to pay my respects to Jan Palach, to visit the places where he lived, to say thank you...and fell in love with the city and Czech culture overall more than I expected. I met amazing people and had some of the best experiences of my life, and soon after I realised that moving to Czechia was the right thing to do. That I would regret it for the rest of my life if I didn't go through with it, that if I stayed in my home country I would never be as happy as I am now.
Two years later I finally packed my things and went on my way...as soon as I left the airport on my arrival I felt that I'd made the right choice and everything that happened since then only confirmed that feeling. Even the bad things. It's not always easy but it feels right, in a way that's hard to convey by words. I sometimes think about how crazy this all is but I'm so glad it happened. I'm thankful for everything I have now, my friends, my hobbies, my new home. I love it every day more. And I don't care how weird it is that all this started because of a guy who died more than half a century ago. Was it only a coincidence that I watched the news that day when they talked about him? Is there more to it? Who knows? Is it relevant? I don't think so.
I hope he'd be happy to know that he saved me and how much he means to me. If I could, I'd thank him for everything.
I started this blog to share my feelings and my journey as an expat in Czechia. You'll find memes, stories of a foreigner's life in Prague and of course a lot of history-related things. I'm happy to answer all your questions and tell you more. I hope to make new friends and find people with whom I can talk about my interests. I'm glad to be here and I love you all, I'm proud of y'all for being here too <3
this post took me waaayyyy too long to write and maybe I'll edit it again sometime in the future, if you read all of this I'm genuinely impressed, please tell me your thoughts in the comments or send an ask if you want to :)

Kinda crazy that not even mike treated eleven like patty treated Henry, how do some people still think hentty is peak soulmatism?
Yeah folks, you heard it here first [checks notes] ignoring someone's fears and using them as a means to your own goals is true love. Pure soulmatism.
I don't want to give Patty undue shit, there's weird circumstances surrounding her in general, and even if there weren't, she's just as much of a teenager as the rest of them. I'm sure she cares for Henry, or at least some version of her did, but there are multiple times where she walks all over him/ignores his comfort and safety in a way that screams "means to an end", similarly to Mike with El in ST1.
It's not even just about the powers, though the powers are a driving factor in their relationship overall.
I cannot emphasize enough how much that rehearsal made my skin crawl, especially given that it's preceded by the good-dream church vision. You cannot tell me that Henry being cornered like that while clearly and openly in distress didn't set off some warning bells in Patty's head that hey, maybe we shouldn't go forward with this, maybe I should respect that this guy clearly doesn't want to be here/kiss me.
Call me unsympathetic, but as much as we can explain Patty's behavior with "it would have been embarrassing if even Henry 'freak' Creel didn't want to kiss her", it's no excuse for that kiss. Where's the Patty who stood up for Henry against Walter? You're telling me that that Patty is the type to force Henry into a kiss, especially after he impressed her with the vision at church? That's the guy she's going to force into kissing her? Hm. Just another one of those things that makes me raise an eyebrow at TFS/Patty as a whole.
And that ^^ whole mess just makes the attic arc that much worse. At least when Mike used El like a tool, danger was a driving force. Will's life was in danger, the demogorgon was running around, Barb was missing, there were so many time-sensitive things going on that using El was considered an acceptable move.
What's Patty's excuse? She wanted to find out more about her mother. Important, absolutely, but not time sensitive. As far as we know, there was no danger looming if she didn't use Henry's powers that night. She could have respected his wishes and done it another night. No. No, she just pushed him on.
In my opinion, until we get some other explanations that reframe Patty's behavior, what she did in TFS speaks to a lack of care towards Henry and a tendency to prioritize herself and her own goals over his autonomy...which funnily enough sparks up right after she finds out he has powers. Funny how that timing works out. Not a great look. This lack of care is exemplified by her willingness to drop Henry as soon as the situation surrounding his powers get weird, going so far as to take Brenner's side against him in the finale despite having seen the lab herself.
She was never morally perfect, nor was she ever staunchly on Henry's side, and I think it's a disservice to her character's depth to imply that she's ride-or-die for him with nothing but altruistic motivations and ~SoULmAtiSm~. She contains multitudes. She did crappy things. Cool motive, still murder.
And on a tangential note: Imagine for a second that Patty was Mike and Henry was Eleven circa ST4. Genuinely. Imagine Mike approaching a terrified El who'd spent half the scene hiding from him and the Party. Imagine him grabbing her and kissing her like that, despite her protests. Imagine Mike pressuring El to use her powers despite El asking him not to use them. Imagine him flipping sides at the very end when it's revealed that she's imperfect. Imagine him giving her over to Brenner despite everything he knows about the Man.
You'd all tear him to bits. Somehow it's different when it's Patty! Funny how that works. Nothing to examine there.

DA BOIS
I SAW THE MOVIE
I WAS INTRODUCED TO THE UTTER NONSENSE THAT IS MM /aff
I HAVE THOUGHTS
NOT, LIKE, ANALYSIS WHICH MAY COME LATER
JUST THOUGHTS
AND SPOILERS
So I’m studying the boys and at first I was just “They really are leaning into this whole teen thing, huh” but then I thought back to every memory I have of my brothers and how they interacted and was just like- OH
OH WAIT
THIS IS ACCURATE
🤣 The bacon and egg scene- literally my brothers in a nutshell. The constant quotes and references- a little on the nose, but accurate.
BUT I SPENT
THE ENTIRE MOVIE
Waiting to see which turtle would spike my patented they need some hurt/comfort and at first I was leaning towards Leo- BUT THEN WHEN THAT BUS/TRUCK (I forget exactly what it was) FLEW STRAIGHT AT DONNIE AND MIKEY’S WATCHING IN HORROR AND DONNIE IS STUMBLING AND HURT AND OBLIVIOUS AND LOOKS ONLY HALF PRESENT-
Hands down. That got me.
I has a favorite and he’s so innocent and bright-eyed and deserves injury and kidnapping. I will make this happen.
The boys as a family were so fluffy and vibrant and relatable.
The boys as individuals…?
Leo has personality and concerns and attachments and a crush and flaws and strengths and he just felt like an person.
The rest seemed kinda… Plain. Raph had the anger thing going for him, but I have a hard time distinguishing Mikey’s and Donnie’s personalities. Mikey was friendly and liked improve, but that was never really touched on at all. In battle or otherwise- Donnie was the one who was thinking fast and taking the lead when talking to the Superfly. And Donnie was the one who Leo described as the best with people.
I’m not exactly sure what Mikey had going for him…
Donnie isn’t much of a techie, other than his headphones and phone, which is only used casually. He can drive and read comics, but that’s not really an abnormal teen thing. Like, any of his brothers couldn’t have driven using game skills? Or come up with a comic/movie solution to defeat Superfly?
That’s more nitpicks than anything tho. I might have missed things as well- it’s only my first watch. You shouldn’t make any firm decisions or judgements based on a first meeting. Hopefully, I’ll spot differences between them later on or they’ll flush out the characters more in the series.
They pushed a LOT into this movie. Everything was happening all at once. Like, they didn’t skip a BEAT when shifting from evil mutants trying to kill the boys to TCRI is locking them up.
And what the heck did Leo expect April to do?? SHE WAS ON A HIGHWAY BRIDGE?? DID HE EXPECT HER TO JUMP DOWN- SHE’S COMMENTED ON HOW CRAZY THEIR ROOFTOP TRAVEL IS! What makes him think she can do that??? 🤣🤣
At the very least she had to bike around and off the bridge to do anything, and he would have been unconscious by then. Boi just like “she abandoned us 🥺” when she could have been trying to help them while they were being loaded before going to get Splinter.
All hypothetical, of course. Would make for a good OneShot tho.
I like how the April betrayal was just a “I guess I was wrong” type of disappointment and not some dramatic heartbreak, because that feels more realistic to me. Relieved the crush wasn’t played off for laughs and all the brothers seemed disappointed.
April was such a good teen. They never played her off as anything but a normal person who didn’t have quite the right amount of self-preservation. Probably where the journalism comes in.
She was also a good representation that you don’t need green skin to not fit in. Life is hard, man, and I hope the series explores that even tho people don’t scream when they see them, that doesn’t mean life will be any less difficult. School is still prey grounds and people are still predators .
OMGEE SUPERFLY THO
DUDE WAS SCARY. BUT THE WHOLE TIME. I WAS WATCHING.
I COULDN’T NOT LIKE HIM FOR BEING EVIL
Dude got his daddy KILLED after daddy talked about raising him and his siblings and being a loving family by a bunch of weapon-using scary humans that also tried to kill them WHILE HE WAS A BABY
TCRI CREATED A FORMATIVE MEMORY THAT WAS STRAIGHT TRAUMA! OF COURSE HE HATES HUMANS-
That poor fly 🥺😔
The parallel between Splinter and Superfly was interesting. Felt a tiny bit forced at the end there, but I can respect it. Can’t dictate a fam’s every choice. That’s not fair. Gotta let your fam be free to grow and make their own mistakes and create their own morals~
I have a couple other thoughts, but I want to formulate them a bit more. See if I can make stuff off of them.
One last thing before I go…
MY SOCIAL ANXIETY HEADCANON STILL STANDS
NOT ONCE IN THE WHOLE MOVIE WERE THEY SEPERATED UNTIL THE SCHOOL
And even then it’s in a controlled environment. They all know where the other is. It seems safe.
But what happens when that illusion is gone…?

Ok I see ppl on Tumblr talking Abt how much they liked the final episodes but honestly I was severely underwhelmed by the fionna and cake ending. If you don't want to see me just list out everything I like and dislike and why according to my arbitrary personal preferences scroll now.
The second half of the fight with scabby was meh and repetitive. At least the gumlee was cute. Fionna is still the bestest even if her final fight kinda sucked. I love her dearly and I hope she is living her best life.
The lack of Ooo Marceline in the end was literally so disappointing too I wish we could've seen her again at SOME point.
And just in general the ending felt really rushed, I feel like if they had some more episodes to work with it would've been a lot smoother.
Simons pov was just so severely underwhelming, it just felt like filler to me.
I literally didn't care if it was going to be happy or sad ending for Simon as long as it made me feel things like the last couple of episodes did but it just felt totally flat. It didn't really feel like an ending at all. I wouldn't even mind the breakup angle they took under normal circumstances if it wasn't for the fact he like. Literally spent 12 years basically being in a constant mental breakdown, and a thousand years before that subconsciously searching for her, and her literally driving herself to insanity and becoming golb to keep him safe, but wow suddenly everything's chill cuz he played a video game. Ok. Simon just realized that whoops he didn't always take Betty's feelings into account and they parted ways.
And I will repeat: I DO NOT MIND THE BREAK UP ANGLE. IT MAKES SENSE OBJECTIVELY. HOWEVER. IT FEELS LIKE THERE WAS LIKE. TWO MINUTES OF THOUGHT PUT INTO IT. DEFINITELY NOT SUPER HEARTSTRINGS PULLING TO ME. DO NOT GET IN MY COMMENTS BEING WELL ACTKULLY THIS IS JUST ME COMPLAINING ABOUT CARTOONS.
I liked the golbetty in the bus and the golbetty statue. I could bs something about them going their separate ways on a journey the other can't go on and insert trigun quote here about how the ticket to the future is always blank but I just really like golbetty. She's great shes monsterous she's perfect.
Just in general Simon and Betty felt off to me during the final episodes, I can't really put my finger on it but they just felt weird. I'm sure Betty's been doing a lot of thinking in the void and all but it still fell to the left of them I think. The whole time I was watching I was just like. Hm.
Edit: got it. Betty has always been wanting to keep Simon thinking about her. Always. With AI Betty head she flat out said "I knew it would drive you crazy but at least you'd always be thinking about me" and it's like a core thing she does stuff for the Dramatics. While you can argue she's been doing a lot of thinking in the void and matured because of it she's also been a goddess of CHAOS. If anything she's gonna go more loony rather than more mature.
Not to sound like a doomed crazy yuri enthusiast but there are literally no normal or healthy actions you can take after literally becoming a god for someone.
Maybe I'm just too committed to the bit but I'm a solid believer that if you start a weird fucked up path you gotta end on a weird fucked up note. Although the severe disappointment of nothing happening is probably the most fucked up thing they could do to me.
Ik it's supposed to be some sometimes life doesn't give you a tidy ending stuff but also this is fiction I get enough fuck yous like this from reality and ignored job applications I want my fuck yous from fiction to be not sadly vague. Or at least better written.
At least Simon's in therapy. About time.
And the little emoticons he's using in his phone. :)
Tumblr media
Do feel free to put your own opinions in on whether you liked or disliked the ending just play nice 🤙

Do you know what's so fucking crazy about fanfiction? Is that a good fanfic will change your entire perspective on a character. A good fanfic will have you in tears, laughing uncontrollably, and fucking questioning your existence. That's what happened to me with Spider. I didn't hate Spider, but by the end of the movie, did I wish that he died instead of Neteyam because I understand from a fundamental level exactly how Spider was feeling at that moment. But a fanfic called; "If you playin' me that means my home ain't my home" by Naavispider made me realize exactly how long Spider spent with Quartich and the other recoms and how likely they may have formed some kind of bond together. In summary; I love Spider and he is my baby. He is my actual son and I would die for him.
Omg omg, a similar thing happened to me, before me and my friends went to see it I’d already seen a bunch of Spider hate on tiktok, a lot of people said that “ he’s a traitor!!” And “ it should have been him”( I accident saw a spoiler about Neteyams death and I was like ‘😦’). So I sat down at the cinema half expecting to hate him as well.
BUT! When he first came on I kinda already liked him, as the movie went on I only found myself more interested in Spider than the other characters to the point I was like “OKAY YAH I KNOW YOU LIKE HER OKAY!! NOW WHERE SPIDER?!?” Before spider saved Quaritch some of my other friends texted me to ask how the movie was and I just went on about how he didn’t betray anyone and how everyone lied to me. But then he saved him and I was like ‘wtf’ at first I was mad about it, then the more I thought about it the more I realised that Spider must have been there for WEEKS and he was tortured just to keep his friends safe- then I read the comics and saw how he was treated and I realised how miss understood he was in both the fandom and in his life as well. This poor baby has been through sm and I'm sorry but if any and I mean ANY of the Sullys get angry at him for saving his dad I will leave the theatre I’m not joking.
That’s what I love about fanfiction they can help you understand a character sm better than you Already do and fanfiction can open up a completely new possibility to a movie or show you like and it can help you view a character completely differently than how you originally saw them. I’m so happy you like him better now bro 🥹
This boy deserves happiness, and I will fight James Cameron for that happiness.

pray tell what are your birdmen thoughts on the finale
oh man.... i just finished it today so my thoughts are very jumbled
i loved the first like 2/3 of the manga a lot! the original bird club cast charmed me SO much when the manga first started coming out. and what i really enjoyed about the story was that the sci-fi element served more as a vehicle for the casts' psychological drama and coming-of-age stories than sci-fi for its own sake. yellow tanabe spent of lot of time developing the bird club kids with so much care that when the scale of the story started expanding, i lost my initial interest... which is why i stopped reading years ago.
and catching up... yeah, i still stand by my thoughts LOL like the scope just got too huge too quickly... it seemed CRAZY to me that tsubame and sagisawa stayed behind the last 10 chapters or so like WHAT. they straight up went from main cast to minor characters... and yellow tanabe is a good character writer, so i was somewhat invested in the other groups like the american seraphim and the adams/eves, but anytime the OG bird club wasn't on screen i was just like :/ where are my kids
those are my main complaints! i enjoyed the slower smaller more psychological and interpersonal storytelling of the first half compared to the more philosophical and global scale of the second half. like please tell me more about kamoda's ex-basketball club. legitimately i want to know more about that rather than the fate of the world sjfsd;jfgkdf
but that's not to say i completely hated the second half! like omg..... it got so gay..... like wtf.... sorry eishi about your life. and how in love you are with the world's most inscrutable and cryptic 15 year old. i guess the tradeoff for yaoi is good writing. well. that's fine. no but i did enjoy the focus on the two of them even if came at the expense of the completely sidelining of the other 3 bird club members :'( sorry y'all don't have a homoerotic quasi-religious counterpart to share a dreamscape with
similarly, this is how i felt about kekkaishi's run too. the last time i read it was like 7 years ago, so i don't remember it that great, but i think i enjoyed the beginning/middle of it the most and was dissatisfied with its ending as well
also i echo this post by simkjrs, an artist i like, which actually prompted my reread!
but in the end we have this picture so its okay. at least my favorite character didn't die mid-series this time, thank you for that yellow tanabe
Tumblr media
EDIT: realized you asked specifically about the finale and i didn't.... really say anything about the last chapter LOL. my main gripe is that it felt very rushed -- we have so much build up to the seven meeting and what kind of decision they're going to make and then it all just kind of - ends? like they just kinda came to an offscreen consensus or something...?
in general it felt like this big climax that everything was building up to, all these different factions and sides, just all got swept aside and tidied up. the part where robin and her crew get greeted by this loving crowd especially threw me for a loop like WHAT... how does this happen??? just feels like we skipped several steps LOL.
but it's a sweet little ending, with seraphs and humans co-existing and determining their own fate... and the one thing i REALLY like is eishi being some government representative like that cracks me tf up it's so funny. you spend ages 15-16 on an international adventure fighting the worlds most morally bankrupt accelerationists and then ages 16 onwards as a teenage bureaucrat. amazing.
plus: apparently takayama gives up on becoming a timeline-hopping?? space-faring?? angelic being?? to stay guy who rescues cats and (APPARENTLY?) HAS A JOB? wow. what being in love does to a god.

J. Drysdale - Island Of Love
Tumblr media
✄————————————
Jamie Drysdale x Fem!Oc
Word Count: 4.3k
Warning(s): Heartbreak. Trevor’s a teensy bit mean.. but not like really mean.. just kinda like.. blunt.
It was supposed to be a reader insert, but then I decided to do this in Jamie’s point of view, so I did this one a little different.
It was not my plan to spend 4 straight hours on this.. it’s 4:00 am right now.. but I had a blast with it anyway..
—————————————
“Oh dude! We’re gonna have so much fun! I’ve got us booked on so many things. Snorkeling, and deep sea fishing… oh! Oh! And they even have these cool bars that look super neat in the evenings.”
Trevor was the best friend I could ever ask for… in that moment… he felt like the most insufferable.
He promised to get me out of the house after the season was over. With the recovery from my surgery going fairly well, and the overwhelming need to do anything, Trevor suggested a trip to Hawaii.
I would blame it on the fact that I’d gone stir crazy.. that’s why I agreed to go on this trip. To fly over the ocean. To go spend two weeks on an island surrounded by ocean.. to go swimming in the ocean. I was too pale on a day to day basis for Trevor to even notice how sick I felt on the flight there. The first step out of the airport was the most surprising. The world was entirely different. It almost made me feel bad for stepping on such beautiful grass with off white shoes that used to be the color of perfection.
“Aloha, visitor!” A beautiful voice caught my ear, with an accent I simply couldn’t place other than calling it Hawaiian. My eyes scanned the crowds before landing on a woman who looked half my size.
She waltzed over with grace, her dark curly hair bounced with each step she took. Mesmerizing.
The woman pulled the pink lei from her neck. This was a tradition I was aware of. One I had read up on before Trevor and I left California. I dipped my head in both a respectful manner, and to help her reach. She slipped the lei over my head, her hands sliding along the length of it as I lifted my head back up to meet her gaze.
I had never seen anybody so beautiful. Dark eyes, even darker hair. She had a beautiful tan, and the white of her cropped top looked much better than my shoes.
“Mālama ‘āina.” Her words made no sense to me, and I smiled nervously in response.
“I don’t understand you…” this made her smile falter. My gaze drifted toward Trevor, who was trying to strike up conversation with the woman who had greeted him.
“Take care of the land.” My eyes snapped back in her direction. Her accent was so beautiful. I swallowed and nodded.
“I am Eleu.” Oh god. Of all people. Why was my heart beating fast for a girl I’d never seen before?
“Jimmy- Jim! Jame.. Jamie.” Mhm. Yeah. Fourth time’s a charm. Her nose scrunched at me.
“Welcome, Jamie.”
Trevor found me not long after he finished speaking to his own greeter. He wrapped an arm around my shoulders and began to drag me off out of the welcoming area they’d been in.
“I booked us this cool little hut looking thing.” I did my best to push the interaction to the back of my mind. She was a random woman, embarrassing myself in front of her should have meant nothing. I embarrassed myself in front of people every day.
“Where’s it at?” I engaged in the once one sided conversation.
“Like.. the other side of the island.”
——————
Trevor and I spent a lot of our first day traveling and settling into the small shoreside hut. It was made for tourism, I could tell, but I was more interested in the wilderness of the island. The things deeper inland. Things that weren’t the ocean. Instead, Trevor had dragged me out to the beach the second the sun rose on day two, insisting I needed a little time outside.
I didn’t know if there was a specific amount of sunscreen one could use before it became harmful to your skin. But I’d rather go out using sunscreen than having the worst sunburn of my entire life.
We were seated in beach chairs on the sand, Trevor laid out with a drink in his hand -which he bought after walking down the beach to find a bar-. I was leaned back in my own chair, hands clasped together over my stomach with a hat on in hopes of shielding my face from the sun.
“Doesn’t get much better than this, does it Jame?” Trevor’s voice broke me from my trance.
I shrugged.
“It’s pretty cool.” I should have been more excited, I knew that, but I couldn’t shake the nagging anxieties in the back of my head.
The ocean was so vast and unknown.. what if it just rose up and swallowed us whole?
“Seriously?” My head turned to look at Trevor when he spoke again. He shifted and sat up, turning his body sideways to face me.
“You gotta go on a walk or something. This might be the best vacation you ever get, and you’re spending it like a baby.”
He meant nothing by the harshness of his words, but they stung anyway.
“Go touch some grass. Or better yet,” Trevor stopped, then pointed a stiff arm at the water. “Go for a swim.”
All of a sudden, the walk idea hadn’t sounded so bad.
“I’ll just- you’re probably right. I just need to loosen up.” I reached for my t-shirt, taking it from where it had been draped over the back of my chair. “I’ll be back later.”
I never minded walks down the beach in Anaheim. I preferred to keep my distance from the water, but the walking aspect was relaxing.
I found through my stroll, that where we stayed must have been a generally private area. There weren’t many people around aside from a few families and kids.
Eventually though, nobody was around at all. I had stopped to stare down the length of the beach. Nothing. Then I heard screams and giggles erupt from the area around me. I turned my back to the ocean, facing up the sand where it slowly turned to grass. A building resided there, with a small pavilion beside it. Kids were running rampant. I felt a strong sense of discomfort. I was not supposed to be there.
“Hey!” Was it creepy to recognize her voice? I looked toward the pavilion to see the same woman from the day before, dressed in a breezy blouse and a pair of shorts. Beautiful.
“Hey!” A bright smile painted my lips as I raised a hand to wave. Some of the kids around her stopped to look, but most were too busy running about.
“You are not supposed to be here.” She made her way to the edge of the grass, I took a cautious step back. My smile fell, as did my hand.
“I’m sorry, ma’am.. I didn’t know.” I could have called her by her name, but honestly.. I didn’t remember it.
“Did you not see the sign?” I slowly looked over my shoulder. Not a sign in sight. So I squinted. She got impatient quickly.
“It says Kapu.” I looked back up at her.
“I don’t understand your language.” I reminded her. She huffed.
“Keep out.”
“Tourists.” My gaze fell to the ground after she turned to walk away. Her behavior was a stark contrast to the kind greeting I received from before. I knew some places had a disliking for tourism, but I couldn’t understand why she would greet people so kindly if she resented them. Or why she would even offer to do it.
At that point, I had come to the conclusion to end my walk. I never spoke a word about the encounter to Trevor when I got back. He looked bewildered that I was still as tense as before. Maybe even more tense.
——————
On Wednesday night, Trevor had clued me in on our next set of plans. I didn’t pick up on it until he mentioned dancing. In the movies they always depicted traditional Hawaiian luau’s as dancing.
When we got there, I realized it was nothing like that. And Eleu was there. Again. Trevor and I had found ourselves enjoying various traditional courses while the entertainment went on.
“I wish we had stuff like this in Anaheim.” I only nodded in agreement as I adjusted the hat on my head. I would have loved to see things like this back in California, but this is a culture that is not exactly ‘California’ esque.
Despite all there was to see, my eyes always drifted to Eleu. The fabric skirt she wore, each flap of green shaped to look like a palm frond, flowed in the gentle breeze. She was kind again. Kind to those around her, and kind to the people she served. I did not understand. I wanted to.. but I didn’t.
I came to find out later, that she wore the skirt to perform with a group of women who looked around her age. Around our age. She was a dancer. An elegant one at that. There was a story to be told in the music, but I could not interpret the movements. I still knew nothing about the culture. But I decided perhaps I could change that.
It turns out. It is incredibly hard to find somebody on an island. I did not know her name, and I did not know anything about her. The idea of simply going to where I found her before crossed my mind, but I tried the respectful route first. I didn’t want to trespass if I didn’t have to. I knew how upset it made her the first time.
When I came up empty, I put on a brave face, and made the trek back down the beach. I fidgeted most of the way there, uncertain of what I’d say or do. How I’d speak to her. When I got there, I was surprised to see Eleu out in the pavilion, surrounded by a large group of kids. I couldn’t hear her voice, but her movements looked animated enough to be telling a story. There were other adults around, but I was still hesitant to get too close. I had no doubt she was protective of those kids.
I must have waited around fifteen minutes, watching like a creep, until Eleu had seemingly dismissed the group of children. They’d gone to find the adults, and were eventually ushered away from the building.
“Now or never.” My hockey mentality just might get me killed on this one.
I stepped off the sand and into the grass. I approached with caution while Eleu had grabbed a broom. Her back was turned. I should have stopped and waited before she was looking to step onto the wooden platform of the pavilion. But mistakes were made too late.
She whipped around so quickly it had me raising my hands in surrender.
“You’re doing it on purpose now.” Eleu’s words were sharp. Her gaze traced my figure before she glared into my eyes.
“I came to talk to you?”
“You trespassed.” Not one of my finest ideas.
“Please?”
Eleu placed a hand on her hip, cocking it to the side. She was in no mood to handle this situation.
“There’s a lot of culture here. I was just curious if maybe.. you seem to know your stuff. I thought, I could ask for a little background?” She didn’t look convinced.
“You? With your hats,” she turned the broom in her hand, holding it near the bristles while she tipped the handle up toward my head. “And your loud friend?”
“No, he’s not in on this.. just me and my hats..” a nervous chuckle fell from my lips. I did not understand the need to insult what I wore on my head.
“The island would not accept you.. she doesn’t take well to your type.”
“Think so?” It was impulsive. Something I would have said to Trevor in the midst of a challenging statement. Eleu’s gaze softened, but her brow furrowed in confusion.
“I know so.” It was like she wasn’t sure how to respond, before backing up previous statements.
“Show me how she would accept me.” It wasn’t a demand.. I’d call it more of a suggestion.
“I don’t like tourists.” She shook her head.
“You called me a visitor.” I had her in checkmate once again.
Eleu stared me down, slowly leaning the broom against the closest wall. She spoke through gritted teeth;
“I am free in the evenings.”
——————
“No dinner plans? You’re telling me I just have to figure it out for myself?” Trevor groaned from the opposite end of the tiny hut. I shrugged.
“You’ll be fine! I just wanted to call my mom for a little while.” I knew the excuse would only work once or twice, but I decided I’d cross the bridge of others when I got there.
“This sucks.” Though he’d been ‘bummed’, Trevor was still busy trying to pick a pair of shoes to go out. “Not even gonna let me say hi to momma Drysdale?”
I shook my head and laughed softly at Trevor’s nickname for my mother.
“You’ll call if you need something though.. yeah?” I nodded.
“Promise me, Jimmy.”
“I promise.”
The moment Trevor was out, I was slipping on a hat and headed back down the beach. Though the walk was tedious, I did enjoy knowing I was getting some exercise in. I hadn’t been the most active during my injured period.
I found Eleu waiting for me sitting in the grass, not ever far from that building. I had a hunch it was a school building.
“Jamie.” I liked the way my name sounded from her lips. I also liked the way she looked under the glow of the sun.
“Hey.” I was just as nervous as the day we met. I wondered if I’d ever get comfortable around her.
“Come sit.” I did as told, finding a seat in the grass next to her.
“I do not like you.” I could only nod. We’ve established that already. “My tūtū insisted I do this.” My brow furrowed at the name. Another word I did not understand.
“Your…” I wanted to attempt the word, but I knew I would not say it well enough.
“Grandma.”
I quiet ‘oh’ fell from my lips in understanding.
“She suggested we start with Hula. It tells a story. We dance to worship the creator of our universe.” Eleu slowly turned to face me, and I found myself doing the same out of respect for the woman. My eyes fixated on her, but my mind was lost in the words she spoke. She told me about the ideals of her people presented through dance. She told me of the Gods they worship and the stories told. Both tragic and happy. Then she was up, and leading me down to the ocean.
I tensed. Her gentle hold on my hand almost slipped as I tried to pull away. She was quick to grip tighter. Eleu looked back at me, once calm eyes now expecting me to give up.
“I don’t like the ocean.” Her brow furrowed. She didn’t know what to say again. Caught off guard and in confusion.
“You can’t have land without the ocean.”
It was my turn to look confused.
“Water balances.” She turned it into a teaching moment. She grabbed the hat off my head and tossed it somewhere behind us. Eleu and I spent most of the sunset side by side on the wet sand. She taught me something she said she often taught the kids in her class. Simple, easy to follow and remember. But my heart fluttered all the same when she looked to me every so often to nod in approval. There was no music, but Eleu did hum occasionally. Her voice was calm. Relaxing. I still hated the ocean, but i understood her words a bit more as we danced.
“You never told me what story this one tells.” It wasn’t perfect. My dancing was far from it, but I thought I kept up with her fairly well.
“The tragedy of a girl who thinks the God’s sent her a man to love.”
——————
The next time I saw Eleu, she explained the depth behind the story. It was one of her own she said she often told the kids to teach them of the dangers of impulsiveness. We sat in the grass outside of the school building. Occasionally, Eleu would speak a Hawaiian word and pause. At first I hadn’t understood what she wanted, but we fell into a routine after the first few times. She was teaching me words even if I wouldn’t remember right away. When the sun began to set, she had finished off her tale. It was a tragedy.. she told me that.. but I still got a little choked up at the end.
I hadn’t worn a hat this time. Eleu disliked them anyways, and I figured a bit of sun wouldn’t hurt my face. Until I was squinting as we both looked out at the sunset. The golden glow was beautiful, but I could barely catch it. Until the breeze whipped through the tall palms and a frond blocked the blinding light.
“I think she is starting to like you.” Eleu grabbed my hand and pressed my palm into the grass, her own on top of mine.
——————
The third time we met, Eleu had promised something fun. Trevor was under the influence that I’d eaten something bad, and sickness was my excuse for staying behind. I had chosen to wear joggers instead of the usual shorts simply because it was supposed to be a cold evening. Eleu kept me out longer than I expected to be the last time.
When I caught her figure down the sand, I began to wish I hadn’t lied to Trevor.
“Surfboards?” I called. She was expecting me to go out there with her. In the ocean.
Eleu nodded. She met me halfway down the sand.
“Just one, and a paddle.” She held the paddle out to me. I nodded and took it from her hand. “Nothing too difficult.”
“I didn’t wear swim trunks.” I pursed my lips, shook my head, and feigned disappointment. She saw right through me.
“You wore boxers?” My cheeks flushed at the question. She was serious, but I’d lived with Trevor too long for my head not to drop into the gutter.
“Y- yeah..”
“Leave your pants here.” I hesitated at her words. “I won’t look. Ho’oma’ema’e. Respect.”
I barely knew this woman. It could have been a made up word. A made up moral. She could have been messing with me since the moment I approached her. But I trusted her all the same, slipping my pants off and tossing my shirt into the sand as well.
Eleu remained true to her word.
I followed her into the ocean, a quiet hiss escaping my lips at the chill of the water. And maybe the fear of the unknown. The only thing that helped was how clear the water was.
Once we were out far enough, Eleu told me to get on the surfboard. She did her best to balance out the weight by leaning most of her own on one end while I climbed onto the other. I sat with my legs dangling off either side. I wanted to pull them up, but Eleu explained it would be harder to balance that way. She also said facing my fears wouldn’t hurt.
Eleu stood on the other end of the surfboard, and it was only then that I realized we were doing nothing more than paddle boarding. It was relaxing. The ocean, I decided, was maybe okay.
Eleu didn’t do much paddling after a while, allowing the ocean to simply move us as it pleased. She still stood though. She seemed to prefer that over sitting. I didn’t mind. My back was turned to her anyway. But my sense of relaxation had been interrupted when I felt a splash of water hit my back.
“Excuse you!” I tried to turn to get a good look at Eleu, but nothing seemed to work. So instead, I scooped a hand into the water to fling it backwards at her. Eleu laughed.
I realized it was the first time I ever heard her laugh.
“Just making sure you were still awake, Jamie.” She teased, gently tapping my back with the end of the paddle. It’s then, that her laughter quieted, and my eyes searched the ocean frantically in concern. I waited for her to speak again. Had I done something wrong?
“What is this from?” The weight on the surfboard shifted, and I felt a finger graze the scar on my shoulder. I pursed my lips, shrugging. It’s not really a conversation I wanted to have. Not on my vacation.
“Freak accident.” It was all I offered, but Eleu picked up on my discomfort. She pressed a kiss to the scar, then moved back to where she’d been previously.
By the time we got back to the beach, I was rushing to make it ‘home’ in time to beat Trevor. I had by mere seconds.
——————
“My tūtū gave me these,” Eleu presented a basket full of what I could only assume were leaves. It was my second to last day on the island. We’d both been anticipating the day where I did leave, but neither of us wanted to treat it like it was real.
“She said they would be good symbols of luck when you leave.” I sigh softly at her words.
Eleu wanted to relax and do something calm that night. She suggested teaching me how to make leis, and I had gone along with her plan like all the others.
We sat on a folded out blanket in the grass. Outside the school building. I helped Eleu place everything out. I told her that I felt bad she went and picked so many flowers all on her own, but she said it gave her time to reflect.
We sat side by side, like the other nights before, though this time, her knee was practically up against my own. We were as close as we could get while she showed me the process of pulling stems off flowers, threading them on the string, adding other elements. Then she pulled out one of those leaves.
“A lei is a symbol of greeting, and connection. It’s also a symbol of friendship and celebration, and parting.” My eyes flickered between Eleu and the string she worked on threading with flowers.
“It symbolizes aloha.”
“I thought aloha meant hello?”
“I never told you it meant goodbye too.” Eleu presented the leaf with pursed lips and sad eyes. My heart hurt. I’d never see her again.
“This is a maile leaf. In our culture.. it represents respect, and blessing. Devotion, and friendship.” She smiled at me. “And love.”
Eleu was not one to elaborate very much. I learned that quickly. And from this, I learned two things. That her grandmother approved of whatever we had going on. And that Eleu had fallen for me as hard as I had fallen for her.
“I’ll miss you.” We could have stayed in touch, but long distance simply wasn’t going to work and we knew it.
“I’ll miss you too, Jamie.” Eleu gently placed the leaf back into the basket. I eyed it for a while before she urged me to join her, speaking playfully through her sadness, telling me that her lesson on making leis would have been for nothing if I just sat there.
She worked faster than I did. I struggled, but she offered great distraction with the sound of my name.
“Jamie.” I looked up slowly, brow raised in interest. Eleu had a white flower with brown spots in her hand. She broke a piece of the stem off and leaned forward. I watched her eyes as she tucked some of my dark hair behind my ear, then placed the stem of the flower there as well. My face felt like it was on fire.
I stared her down with wide eyes, a frown tugging at the corners of my lips. Eleu looked so unbelievably beautiful within the golden hour of sunset.
“The island has accepted you.”
“Wish it could have done that a little sooner.. before I had to go.” I admitted bashfully, my eyes falling to the ground.
Eleu shook her head. She rested her hand on my cheek and tilted my head up so I’d look at her.
“Im glad she took her time.”
The whispered words were the last off either of our lips before they connected. Kissing Eleu was as heartbreaking as it was euphoric. I loved every second of it.. and she must have felt the same, because it escalated within its own time. I didn’t mind. With girls back home, I might have been more hesitant to go for a one night stand. With Eleu? It didn’t feel so shallow. So ‘one night-ish’. We respected each other. We respected one another’s feelings and bodies. Everything was so gentle. So perfect. So secret. So intimate.
We laid together for what felt like hours after. Until my reality came in the form of a phone call from Trevor. He was worried, but I assured him I’d only been out to grab a quick drink before our last day together on the island. After he hung up, I bid the beautiful island girl goodbye.
“You promise you’ll come see me off on Sunday?” I had to ask. I wanted to make sure we would see each other one last time.
“I love you.”
It wasn’t the answer I had been seeking, but the response to my question came that Sunday. When Eleu was nowhere to be found, and Trevor was rushing me into the airport. Eager to get home while all I wanted to do was go awol and find the girl of my dreams.
The girl who didn’t even show up to see me off.
“Aloha…”

If you can't read the notes, I'll write them here:
terrible eyesight
shoulder length hair (naturally black)
modern hanfu (w/ pockets!)
roots growing in
1 mole below right eye
flower hairclip (gifted by jo)
Chan Lee's appearance in the original show pissed me off; the writers went crazy with the stereotypes (Trope Bingo), I half expected them to make a dog eating joke in the show. Also the way her name is so similar to Chun-Li? Her name is so unnatural and I think I'm gonna go crazy if I talk about it any more.
Anyway here is her character info: Chansheng Li, she/her, 20, pan, 5'2'', chinese.
Since her Bakugan is based off of the Asura in Buddhism, I think it'd be cool if she was Buddhist. I have yet to do research on the Buddhism religion so I won't say anything about that right now.
I know I mentioned martial arts as a negative for Chan, but I really really want Shun and Chan to fight, so I'm gonna have her know martial arts, but I'll have to do the research to make it a well fleshed out character trait, rather than a nebulous "she knows kung fu" kinda trait. Imma have her know Southern Praying Mantis style, which you might also know as Toph Bei Fong's bending style in Avatar: the Last Airbender. I also don't know anything about martial arts, but mark my words, Shun and Chan will fight!
I haven't given much thought on her job but someone who becomes one of the top international players probably don't have a life, so I'm making her a trust fund baby who spends her free time playing Bakugan and gardening.
SO! I've decided to do some more research and rework her character. Chan wears a qi pao in the original show, which is mostly to accentuate her curves. Sexism in Bakugan strikes again. I prefer hanfus anyway, so because I want to maintain the modern and traditional vibe, she's getting a plain button up with a hanfu dress. I wanted to give her a flower motif, and I had initially decided on a peony, but since her surname, 李, means plum, I might change into a plum blossom.
I stole the outfit wholesale from this amazing photo:
Tumblr media
Speaking of her name, buckle up because I spent way too long nitpicking different characters for her name.
Chan's name is Chansheng Li. Written as 李婵胜, pronounced lǐ chán shèng (In Chinese, the surname is said first).
李 is a very common surname. I think Li is a more common romanization of the character in mainland China, while Lee used in places that don't really abide by pinyin rules (in Canto speaking places you can also write her name as 李嬋勝). So if you write Chansheng Lee it is also correct!
婵 (chán) is what's known as a "meaningless bound form", which means it doesn't mean a specific word by itself, only when it's paired with other characters. The sign on the left, 女, means girl, so this character is very feminine, and anyone reading this name would know that she's a girl. General vibes mean "graceful" or "lovely".
胜 (shèng) means victory. It's quite a masculine name, but paired with 婵 it provides a nice balance, I think. Due to this, just by hearing her name, you would have no idea that Chan is a woman.
婵胜 (chán shèng) sounds like 常胜 (cháng shèng), which loosely translates to "often suceeds". Chinese parents like naming kids like good luck charms, so I think this is a realistic thing to name Chan.
A fun side note, I had originally considered 嫦 (cháng), which is the same first character as the Chinese moon goddess Chang'e (嫦娥). Funnily enough, 胜 (shèng)'s left character, 月, means moon! Additionally, 嫦's right character, 常, also means "often", which is what I used in the previous point!
With a name as long as Chansheng, some people might shorten it and call her Chan, but I remember the original show only referring her with her full name, and also Chan sounds kinda weird on its own. As such, I will refer to her as Chan, but realistically the characters would call her her full given name.
I'd also like to add a disclaimer that, even though I did my best with research, I'm not very connected to Chinese culture, so please let me know if any of these things are inaccurate (I would love to see sources as well lmao)! Also note that China is a very diverse place, so do not take my characterization of Chan as a representation of the whole country!!

Nannying a CEO
A/N: My favorite sea animal is the green sea turtle. what's yous?
Tag gang: @pantherheart @somethingcleaverandwhitty @mal-urameshi @xblackreader
Chapter: 3/4
Summary: It's not date... well kinda? Shuri likes Riri.
Shuri changed her clothes way too many times to count. Would she like this outfit?  Now I’m being crazy? Riri seemed to like streetwear maybe I should wear other outfits first? Shuri thought as she looked over her now messing room. Clothes spewed all over her bedroom floor. Shuri sighed she knew she overthinking. It wasn’t really a “date” date. It was more like an outing with Riri and Toussaint.
As if the mere thought of the small boy, Toussaint knocked on his auntie’s door. Shuri pulled the door to let the boy in. Toussaint wore the biggest smile on his face, he was excited to go to the zoo with the two people he loved the most.
Are you ready? Toussaint signed to his aunt. Shuri did a once over at her outfit, it was causal enough, the woman nodded as she held her hand into Toussaint’s hand.
It was a beautiful day to go to the zoo, Riri thought as she waited around the ticketing spot as she waited for Shuri and Toussaint. The sun was shining, the birds were singing, and the animals were all out and about. Perfect for your first date, her brain stated, Riri shook her head as if that would stop the thought about viewing this as a first date.  Riri’s eyes caught a  couple walking hand-in-hand, the woman giggled as she cradled herself closer to the man looking up at him like he placed the stars and the moon in the sky. Riri couldn’t help but be jealous and disgusted at the same time. Before Riri had a chance to spiral with her thoughts she saw Shuri and Toussaint.
“Hey,” Riri greeted as she waved to them. Shuri gave a small smile of her own while Toussiant jumped up and down pulling his aunt while grabbing Riri’s hand.
“Well somebody’s excited,” Riri laughed as she was being dragged by the half-pint. As they walked in Toussiant was signing miles per minute. Show off his intelligence about the different animals they saw. When the trio went to the aquarium, Shuri was surprised that Riri knew so much about marine life.
“How do you remember these facts?” Shuri asked. Toussiant’s eyes continued to stare a the leatherback sea turtle.
Shuri could stare at Riri’s eyes all day if it wasn’t creepy. Riri scrunched up her face like she ate a bitter lemon, “Promise not to laugh?”
“Cross my heart.”
Riri laughed at Shuri’s statement, “When I was a kid I thought for sure I would become a mermaid. As a mermaid, you have to know all sea creatures to be their friends.”
“Of course,” Shuri said as she followed step with Riri. Her eyes followed her nephew as he raced around the aquarium looking at different sea animals.
“Where’s Toussaint?” Riri asked she wasn’t paying close attention, far too busy basking in Shuri’s scent of vanilla and cashmere scent.
“He went to the fake submarine to see more of the starfish,” Shuri said pointing at the cartoon submarine. Letting people know it was made for children and not adults, so that means I have to wait here with Shuri until Toussaint is done? Riri’s thoughts were stressed. The short woman closed her eyes for a moment that’s not a big deal.
The pair stared at the jellyfishes in silence as they waited for Toussaint to be done exploring the submarine.
Say something you idiot Shuri’s mind screamed out. They spent hours at the zoo, and yet Shuri couldn’t figure out what to say to Riri without coming out awkwardly.
“Jellyfish are a type of ‘cnidarian’, which is named after the Greek word for "sea nettle,” Shuri stated. She remembers it when she took a marine biology class during her time in college.
Riri cracked another smile, “Don’t tell me you’re a mermaid too?”
Shuri laughs at Riri’s response, “No not at all, I just wanted to show my respect to you, my queen.”
“Queen?” Riri asked not getting the joke.
Shuri placed her hands into Riri’s, “Yes queen of the merpeople.”
“Oh you have jokes now,” Riri said, but not tell her hand go from Shuri’s. The pair didn’t realize how close they were. It was like everything else didn’t exist in this moment that the pair shared. By the time Toussaint came out of the submarine, Shuri and Riri didn't let go each other’s hand.  It was like that little moment was enough for the pair to click with each other. It was like they felt like they had known each other for years. Was this how T’Challa and Nakia felt like? Shuri thought she remebered the pair being so deeply in love with each other. You could never see one without the other. Shuri realized that she liked this feeling. It was warm and safe.  Two things she hadn’t felt for a very long time.
It was the perfect date.
