Obanai has yet to ever feel this conflicted before.

Time and time again obanai feels as love is something that should be pushed aside, his occupation already cuts his life short and in his eyes he is tainted already. Undeserving of it.

Adding onto the wound, obanai is not very.. fond of women. After the physical abuse of the all female clan he was born in. He already had started his hatred long ago.

So why does he stare at you with such a longing look in his eyes?

You were only his tsuguko, just somebody training under him to become his next successor. He tried not to get close, well he tried it was really you who was putting in the effort to get to know him. Your determination was always one of your admirable qualities.

Each and every day he really did try to push you away from him, but every time you persisted in trying to get to know the serpent pillar. At one point he gave up on trying to stop your advances as it would only bring more trouble for him compared to you. Once he finally did let you hang around him was when he started noticing more things about you.

You were a positive person to say the least in some ways you reminded him of mitsuri. Always had a determined look during training and always celebrated after getting down with a much harder training session. You had a attractive personality in his mind.

Not to say the additional plus that somehow kaburamaru has taken a liking to you to. If the chance ever comes where kaburamaru isn't with iguro, he'll find the white snake somewhere with you. It's hard to get kaburamaru to like anybody at all, so if his snake actually seems to enjoy your presence then maybe he should try and give you a chance.

But there is no way Obanai liked you. It was just a phase he was going through, something that he would get over and move on. He's probably just impressed by your skills, it must be it. You were a skillful swordsmith after all, he could tell you had so much potential for the future.

The more he attempted to push you away, the more he wanted to actually seek you out. He started getting used to you saying good morning to him and your constant “nagging” presence. He’d always shake off the feeling trying to get ahold of himself, but he would always begin thinking about this another time again.

Oh no, but the serpent pillar was not in love. It just physically impossible. Mathematically impossible as well. He was simply admiring you. Everybody does that obviously. He only wants to understand what your fighting style is.

Obanai could not be in love, this used to be a fact every slayer knows. Now it’s has turned into just words of encouragement for Obanai until he realizes he’s head over heels for you..

Kimetsu Academy AU, where there's a squeaking coming from the fan ceiling in the chemistry lab and everyone be like "???" "What's that noise?? Is it going to fall??" So Obanai shutting the fan cause it's noisy and disturbing the class.

Then something comes plumping from the fan -- squeaking -- everyone screams and panicking as realisation sinks in at seeing that it's a mice.

Kaburamaru lungs, catches the mice in his mouth and everyone screams louder.

Que Uzui sprinting into the class, shouting and yanking his buff mice from the snake's mouth but unintentionally pulling too hard and flung both Kaburamaru and buff mice from the second floor.

Chachamaru playing with Gyomei outside and sees a snake and a mice in the air -- pounds forward and catches both with his mouth before dashing away into the hallway, catching students and staff off guard.

Gyomei startles, Uzui and Obanai screaming from the second floor.

Chaos. Chaos everywhere.

(it ends with Tamayo bringing back Kaburamaru and buff mice since Chachamaru brought them to her office)

First off, just because you aren't Mitsuri doesn't mean he won't be a simp for you like he is with her.

Bro will literally do anything and everything for you. You're slightly hungry? Can and will fix you a bento in record speed. You're cold? His haori is yours. Oh, your feet are getting uncomfortable from walking so long? He'll carry you.

Seeing Kaburamaru curled up on your shoulders is enough to make his heart flutter.

Y'know that scene where Iguro is on top of Tanjiro and won't get off? You tell him to get off of him and he'll do it immediately. Or if you don't say anything but confront him about it later he'll apologize profusely to you. Not to Tanjiro, though.

Will glare at anyone who so dares look your way when you two are in public. He doesn't care if they're your close friends, he'll get jealous.

Please, please say his eyes are pretty. His heterochromia is another thing that makes him insecure. So seeing you admire it makes him happy.

Tracing his scars on his cheeks when you two are laying together in bad makes him feel happy, too. He'll give you one of his smiles that's only reserved for you.

Training together is rough but he always makes sure you're okay afterwards. Literally scans you up and down like you're a gem and he's the jeweler.

Always hugs you close when you get back from separate missions. He's also a nervous mess when you're gone on them, too.

Overall, he's just an insecure person that needs to be comforted.

A Comforting Notice

Fem!reader x Obanai Iguro

Note: made a lil' something for him bcs pookie deserves more appreciation

Silence fulfilled the air as you laid comfortably on the couch, placing yourself between your boyfriend’s legs while your head rested on his chest. The only source of sounds were from both of your phones, along with a few hisses that came from his white pet snake, Kaburamaru. After some time scrolling through social media, you got bored and decided to word out one of your intrusive thoughts to your partner.

“Hey… do you like me?” you softly spoke as you looked up at him.

“What?” his brows furrowed slightly when he looked down at your head that laid on his chest.

“Do you like me?” you repeated with an innocent look across your face.

Obanai, who's been in a relationship with you for three years, knew that this was another one of your shenanigans that you pulled when in boredom. Being the patient lover he is, he's gotten used to having to put up with them and just went along with everything.

“If I didn't like you, I would've dumped you by now, wouldn't I?” he looked back up at his phone on one hand whilst the other circled your waist.

“True, but why me? There are so many more beautiful girls you know and could've dated. So why me?”

“You're beautiful enough for me,” he replied reluctantly while keeping focus on his phone.

“What about personality? People say I talk a lot. You don't look like the type of person who likes that kind of trait.”

As if curious as well, Kaburamaru who had been resting around the heterochromic-eyed man, turned his head towards him to await his response.

“Do I, now?”

You nodded in response.

“What if I said that the reason I liked you in the first place was that you talked so much?”

“It was?”

Your question made him let out a sigh before propping you up so he could bury his face in your shoulder. As Kaburamaru slithered around both of your necks.

“I don't just like everything about you… I love it,” he whispered softly as his breath sent a light shiver through your neck.

“Don't stop talking. Your voice makes it easier to sleep.”

You let out a chuckle at his request, but began talking nonetheless. He closed his eyes while still resting his head on the crook of your neck, humming softly then and there to indicate that he was listening. But soon, you could feel his breathing slowing down. His grip on your waist was still firm, though his little hums were no longer to be heard.
