This school mentality is so unhealthy, the way it fucked up those poor kids make me so angry. They are MIDDLE SCHOOLERS, club activities should be fun, not some anxiety inducing nightmare.

The true villain of KnB is the faceless director of Teiko and the system of the school.

The worst part is that they used to have teamwork, they used to be very close friends, their bond was very strong and deep. But this school destroyed them.

And here we have the first instance of unreliable narrator :

"The other five were fine with that" Wrong. Murasakibara was fine with that. Midorima and Kise just accepted it and they ended up believing it in some degrees but they always preferred when the team was a team. Aomine had enough on his plate to care one way or another. Akashi was absolutely NOT okay with this, he tried to stop it and his failure was the final push that caused him to switch with his other personality.

I do enjoy the anime version where the akashis are just bitching at each other, but whenever I think of his backstory I think of the manga version

I don't really like when people refer to it as that cause 1. It's not accurate to the actual disorder and 2. I genuinely don't think the creators intended for him to have DID, i might be wrong (please tell me if im wrong) but the fact that DID is never named in reference to akashi just makes me think they never intended that to be the disorder he has

My conclusion is in the weird world of knb where teenagers have basketball superpowers, this is just a in universe disorder that he has and we should keep it very vague when referring to it

Ive heard people say unidentified personality disorder and I started using that too, maybe even a unidentified dissociative disorder (don't take me seriously I know nothing about this I just Google 💀)

Idk it's just a pet peeve when I see DID and akashi together, cause if it is DID its kinda offensive and very unnaccurate, which is why I don't think it's meant to be DID

1. in first place of course it is ICHISAMA FOR LIFE

using this image yet again because well it's right there in my pinned and very convenient

i am a sucker for the dumb of ass kind of heart one falling for the bad boy with a heart of gold one, ESPECIALLY when they have the friends to enemies to lovers arc that ichisama does (ok the to lovers part is obviously hc only but hoo boy it is a strong hc)

what can i say about them really besides that i am writing a fic a day for them every day this year. i think that. says it all lol

2. gotta be koyanagi/kabakura wotakoi AND kashima/hori gsnk

while i'm not saying they are identical ships they definitely fall into the same bucket for me, and boy oh boy do i love that bucket

kashima and hori make me belligerently delighted, and koyanagi and kabakura make me a special sort of feral that i don't even know how to start in on

i really like narumi and hirotaka from wotakoi too, but there's something about koyanagi and kabakura that gets to me way more. the geek4geek dynamic is just impeccable with all four of them but the

3. saaaaaaya and yuusuke from neon sign amber (aka aokise knb)

obligatory shoutout to the boys of my FAVORITE BL OF ALL TIME ok so like as far as bl goes neon sign amber is really not the most unique thing, i would say. but that's what makes it so perfect to me

i feel like a lot of outstanding bl are great in ways that are 'atypical' for bl, like how saezuru is bl, sure, but also comes with a genuinely gripping gritty yakuza plot. and many others that are highly praised tend to be praised by people going "oh this is good because it's not like TYPICAL bl" which i have feelings about but let's not get into that here

neon sign amber is my favorite because it is very much a typical bl, it has a lot of the typical tropes (guy who's been historically straight but is "gay for you" for example)

i don't necessarily love any of those tropes, but i adore what neon sign amber does with them. it is practically a cookie cutter bl, but its characters (despite existing for only one volume of a manga) live in my heart forever. it takes that "gay for you" trope and doesn't gloss over the problems that could arise in a relationship like that, instead actually addressing them in a way i found satisfying

saya especially is one of my guys of all time, and given that they're kind of obviously aokise i'm lumping them in here too. mwah

4. idolish7 YUKIMOMO MY BELOVEDS (e banri)

thought about this one a lot because i feel like i normally like them in a... normal way, so do they really make the top five? but honestly i think they do

i love their stage gay married act and i love to think that's very much rooted in a foundation of they are actually fucking in love with each other. but just that would've made them a cute but not too memorable ship to me

THEIR BACKSTORY THOUGH. MY GOD. first of all baby momo looks literally just like tdd ichiro which is a. a lot. for me. lmao but anyway setting that aside

momo discovering revale at such a pivotal time in his life, being saved by them, becoming their fans, and then being the one to replace banri after THAT happened??? and then five years later feeling like he's running out of time with yuki and ad;slkfja;lkdsfj

i'm becoming incoherent just thinking about it. anyway i guess this is kind of an ot3 for me though i like it in very much a "we are a couple and we are, as a couple, dating banri" sort of thing (not because they wouldn't ever see banri as an equal partner but because imo banri has better things to do than get too involved in that lol)

5. this last one... is so tough... i think i'm giving it to VARIOUS RELATIONSHIPS IN TOKYO GHOUL

ok this is absolutely cheating and ultimately i think what i would have to say is kaneki and hide because like. eat my face to survive is peak romance to me, sorry. as if it's my fault

HOWEVER there are just so many relationships in tokyo ghoul that i'm absolutely obsessed with. amon/akira and nishio/kimi especially!! amon and akira are so so so delightful to me, in a way similar to roy and riza fma, and nishio and kimi are just. i mean. again. eat me to survive. peak romance

(and i swear i'm not a nishio stan because of voice actor bias, i have not watched tokyo ghoul yet because i have been repeatedly and sternly warned away from it... nishio is one of my manga favorites even without the asnm factor, but good fucking lord does the asnm factor tempt me to watch)

the writing in tokyo ghoul is genuinely just so good to me. the main plot is fantastic but what really makes it is the relationships between characters, both romantic and not

(also a fan of the one-sided tsukiyama/kaneki thing going on but strictly as a one-sided thing lol, tsukiyama get wrecked (said with affection))

so i think that is. more or less where my top five would be. though it's like. it's hard. and probably always changing. those are the first beloved ones to come to my though so they will go in this post and i will smack myself in the forehead and be like "I CAN'T BELIEVE I FORGOT ______" as soon as i go to sleep probably

Thanks for actually making me post on tumblr for once! These characters are in no particular order since I am incredibly indecisive and like a lot of characters.

1. )  Riko Aida (KnB)

I love sports anime, but most of them have a conspicuous lack of female characters. Riko is the coach of our heroes’ team, and I admire her ability to keep cool even in the most insane of basketball matches. (I personally would’ve gone crazy dealing with Kuroko and Kagami alone, let alone face the entire Generation of Miracles.)

2.) Anonymous/Somebody (Our Dreams At Dusk/Shimanami Tasogare)

For those who haven’t read Our Dreams At Dusk, it’s a great slice of life, coming of age manga that’s only 4 volumes long about a gay teenage boy learning to just exist as himself after stumbling across a discussion lounge with other queer folk run by a mysterious woman known only as Somebody/Anonymous (she’s Somebody in the official translations and Anonymous in the scans). Somebody’s a rare example of an aro-ace character in manga and an extremely perceptive person who helps many of the characters live their best lives by asking the important questions.

3.) Jolyne Kujo (JJBA Pt 6, Stone Ocean)

Jolyne is a freakin’ badass who doesn’t take no for an answer and is all around awesome. Enough said. 

Plus, she and Hermes are the best ship of Stone Ocean. Best battle lesbian power couple right there.

4.) The Black-Haired Girl (The Night Is Short, Walk on Girl)

My profile picture! I am an unabashed Masaaki Yuasa fangirl and am always looking for other people to convert since his works need more love (my personal favorite of his works is Ping Pong, but, again, there aren’t many female characters). I really like the nameless protagonist of The Night Is Short, Walk on Girl because she doesn’t take anything too seriously and just has a lot of fun taking even the most craziest things in stride. She doesn’t blink an eye when random gods show up in Ponto-cho, Kyoto, and she slows down other people’s perception of time during the long night because she has this way of bringing people into the present.

The movie’s surreal and fun, and if you’re interested, I’d recommend watching its spiritual predecessor, The Tatami Galaxy first. 

5.) Haruhi Fujioka (Ouran)

I liked the manga a lot better than the anime, but Haruhi is headstrong and speaks her mind. She takes no shit from the rest of the Host Club and is super freaking cool.

6.) Sansa Stark (ASOIAF/Game of Thrones)

I strongly disliked Sansa at the beginning of A Game of Thrones because she was so naive, but by the end of A Feast for Crows I was totally converted. She’s become a schemer in her own right, and I can’t wait to see where GRRM takes her in the last two books of ASOIAF.

7.) Hermione Granger (HP)

Like every nerdy kid, I wanted to be just like Hermione when reading the Harry Potter books for the first time. Yeah, she has her flaws, but she’s cool and really damn smart. Plus, Emma Watson plays her in the movies :)

8.) Morgiana (Magi)

Morgiana is another badass with a tragic backstory, having been a slave. She’s the sanest one between her, Aladdin, and Alibaba and has awesome fight scenes. I love Magi’s worldbuilding and think it needs way more love. It’s way overdue for another anime season.  

9.) Eleanor Young (Crazy Rich Asians)

Okay, Eleanor is 100% the villain of Crazy Rich Asians. Still, I admire her tenacity a lot and the way she doesn’t let anything stop at her goals. Michelle Yeoh did an incredible job playing her in the movie version, and I can’t wait to see the movie for China Rich Girlfriend.

10.) Sayaka Kanamori (Keep Your Hands Off Eizouken!)

‘That Tall Girl’ in the Eizouken. She’s no-nonsense, practical, to the point, and very funny. Keep Your Hands Off Eizouken! is another Masaaki Yuasa anime, and you can feel how much he and the folks at Science Saru had making this show from the very first few minutes of Episode 1. 

Honorable Mention: 

Mutsu (Gintama)

The mysterious, badass #2 of the Kaientai and a former space pirate. I like how she took her agency in her own hands and ended up joining Sakamoto. It’s too bad you can only include 1 character per fandom, because there are so many good characters in Gintama—Kagura, Kyuubei Yagyuu, Tsukuyo, and I know I’m only scratching the tip of the iceberg. Gintama will always have a special place in my heart because at its core, it’s a story about how to live a good life.

Day 20~Best insert songs

Ok, guys ... I forced myself to put on this list (which is absolutely not a ranking, I want to clarify ... I inserted the songs according to the order in which they came to mind) only 5 tracks. ..but it was really hard to choose ... And thank goodness I didn't give the limit of 3 ... Seriously, I could have inserted many others, but obviously I had to give myself a demeanor, otherwise the post would have been kilometric 😂😂😂

So, here’s to you:

1. Butterfly ~ MIYAVI (ID: Invaded, Episode 12)

The first time I heard this insert song in episode 12 something went off ... besides the foot. The pace is so addicting!😍😍😍 I listen to it I don't even know how many times a day! And then ... Miyavi is Miyavi!😍 This song also made a good dose of my friends (on which I’m operating a very fine action of plagiarism) and my sister (who has absolutely nothing to do with anime, and who wanted to learn it with the guitar ... I am proud of her) fall in love with it.

2. Fuyu No Hanashi ~ The Seasons (Given)

I can't describe what I felt when I listened to Mafuyu singing this song for the first time ... I just know that I started crying. A little because of the circumstances, a little because of the clip on his memories, a little because his voice is beautiful and melodious, this song made me feel a dip in the heart and Mafuyu's feelings hit me straight like a cannon. Not to mention the lyrics, really moving.

3. Isabella’s Lullaby (Yakusoku No Neverland)

There are several versions in the anime, of this theme, and all wonderful ... but perhaps the version I prefer is the one I have inserted in the link. This song is truly beautiful, it gives me a sense of sadness, nostalgia but also good memories of past life. Again, of course, the first time it was made "official" in the anime, there was no lack of tears.😭😭😭 As the voice and melody grow, a climax of emotions is reached. Listened to at full volume with headphones in the ears, this melody can truly become a very effective method of self-harm and eye dehydration.

4. Seirin Koukou Baske Bu (Kuroko No Basket)

Among the many OST, all wonderful, present in Knb, I chose this because it also contains part of another theme that I like really much ... And then because it gives an absurd adrenaline rush!⚡⚡

5. Sinbad no Bouken OST 1

Ok, technically I haven’t figured out yet if this can be considered an ending or an insert ... BUT I DON’T CARE, because it’s absolutely FANTASTIC. NOTHING ELSE TO SAY.

The way Kise's golden retriever side comes out the most when he's around the people who are the "meanest" to him is very interesting (Kuroko, Aomine, Kasamatsu).

My own interpretation is that he's used to people liking him and being nice to him just because he's pretty. He became a model at a very young age and already had fans before he reached 14. Most of his relationships are very superficial and it is probably difficult for him to form close bonds, he can never be sure if people really like him and his personality or if they are just interested in his looks. Which also explains why he puts up a front when he meets new people.

With people like the Generation of Miracles and Kasamatsu (along with Kaijo, but with Kasamatsu it's clear from the start) who don't care at all about his appearance and who have never shown him any special treatment, he can form and develop a real relationship.

But he still want to be loved so he turn extra sweeter to people who are harsher to him like Kasamatsu, Kuroko or Aomine. Although this is only if he knows that there is no malice behind their words or actions, which is why he never got along or tried to get along with Haizaki, even though he was mean to him too.

Have you ever wanted a manga because of its amazing covers or spines? If so, which ones?

I’m not sure I’ve ever started a manga solely based on it’s covers/spines, but I have definitely bought random volumes of manga I like just because I love the covers haha... ^^” I absolutely LOVE the Noragami volume covers (they’re probably my favourite manga covers ever) and I also love the Tsubasa: Reservoir Chronicle ones! <3 I bought a random volume of Tsubasa before just because I loved the cover actually... (Volume 9 in case anyone's curious...! ^^”)

I have certainly started series just because I liked the art style though... actually, Magi is probably my main one in that regard, I absolutely love the character designs! <3

As for spines, I love the One Piece ones (I love the covers too), they’re sooo colourful, I’d love to have a couple of volumes for my bookshelf!

Your top favourite on-going 'new’ anime/manga at the moment?

Most of my favourite on-going anime/manga aren’t new (One Piece, Hunter x Hunter, Akatsuki no Yona, etc.), and we’re between seasons making this question a little difficult to answer but... I guess out of the new ones airing Boku no Hero Academia is probably my favourite! <3 

A manga/anime you’ve read/watched even though it is not your favourite genre, and why?

Hahaha, okay so... I’m not really a huge fan of Mecha in theory (as in, I don’t really care for giant robots battling it out and what not... at all), BUT some shows I consider some of my favourites just so happen to be Mecha... >.< So I feel like I’m kind of a hypocrite haha... 

Some of my faves in the genre include: Code Geass (one of my all time fave anime tbh), Full Metal Panic! (which is a fantastic show that I don’t talk about nearly enough lol), and Tengen Toppa Gurren Lagann (made by some folks at Gainax who later went on to form Studio Trigger - hence the art style being similar to Kill la Kill, etc.) Aldnoah.zero is also very good, although I’ve only seen season 1!

For all of them the reason I started them was that they seemed super popular, and the reason I liked them was because of the fantastic characters and/or compelling plots... so the mechs didn’t bother me in the slightest in the end! ^^”

Which anime/manga world would you like to live in and who do you want to be in it?

I was only saying this to my brother the other day actually, and I’d honestly love to live in One Piece, it would be such a blast! (He disagreed, said it would be too dangerous hahaha) I’m kinda afraid of boats though so that wouldn’t be ideal haha... but I reckon I could put that aside if I was travelling around with the Straw Hats or something, just sailing the seas... not having to worry about anything trivial that I’d ordinarily be anxious about... Also, there’s so much like... culture in the One Piece world, so many cool islands like Dressrosa (ehhh... for... the most part... and also I guess you could argue I could just go to Spain lol), Sabaody Archipelago, Fishman Island, etc... I just think travelling around and visiting all the places would be SUPER fun and interesting! <3 

I don’t think I’d want to be anyone in it though, I was trying to think of someone without a tragic backstory and I don’t think there is anyone hahaha... but if I ignore that detail hmm... maybe either Tashigi (cause as much as I dislike the marines in general, I love Smoker and G5 are kind of a bunch of dorks deep down lol), or Koala (because I think the Revolutionary Army are cool and I love Sabo lol <3)! Also, neither of them are devil fruit users, which is good because I’m not sure I’d like to be one, I like being able to swim haha... (although admittedly it would be cool, especially something like Law’s power!)

If I could just be myself in the world though, I’d love to join the Straw Hats or maybe the Heart Pirates (and that’s totally not because I love Zoro and Law... definitely not... :P). Also, on a more realistic note, with either of those crews I could potentially help out Chopper or Law with the medical side of things... I suppose! 

Which anime has a special place in your heart? What is it and why?

I’ve gotta go with my childhood anime here, so it’s gotta be Pokemon and probably Yu-gi-oh as well! <3 I still remember rushing home from school to catch the new episodes haha :’) They were just such a huge part of my childhood, I’ll never forget them and I’ll always have fond memories of them! <3 Also, Naruto and Inuyasha since they were the first anime I watched knowingly and so they have a huge nostalgia factor! <3

Some more recent (-ish lol) honorable mentions that have had a huge impact on me include: FMA, Code Geass, Ao no Exorcist, One Piece, Hunter x Hunter, KnB, Yuri on Ice, OHSHC, Noragami, Rurouni Kenshin and Free! To name a few... ^^”

I mean okay I already bought an unofficial DVD set off eBay (mostly because my internet sucks legit I tried to watch Haikyuu the other day and 20 minutes in and I hadn’t even made it past the OP). Official DVDs would be nice tho. Expensive af considering there’s 3 seasons with 70+ episodes, NG Shuu, bonus episodes like Tip Off, etc etc. All that’s going to cost a loooooot of money. Like SnK season 1 DVDs were $96 I think for 1 volume (which is half the season) when they first came out. And that was just season 1, without any sort of bonuses. KnB has 3 seasons and all those extras like I said.
