#panoramini#panoramini_scatole_con_vista#holiday#umbria#Todi#Narni#Narnia#Lazio#civita#illustration #art #architecture #medioevo #medioeval #beautifulday #drawing #blackandwhite #fairytale#italy #landscape #city #interiordesign #dream #fantasy #fantasyarchitecture (presso Centro Geografico D' Italia) https://www.instagram.com/p/CDyFd2ZDdga/?igshid=18rvf5s91bbph

Buongiorno! Buon ascolto!😀😀

i just came across your blog from your amazing art taste. how did you come to get into such classical striking styles? from your love of donna tartt i assume it carried through to other art forms. what are some of your favourite artists or themes (could be visual, musical, literary etc)?
first of all, thank you from the bottom of my heart because this ask really made my day, you’re a sweetheart.
actually, i think if i have to track down a literary origin point for my art taste (even if it’s not entirely true it all originated in that specific way, it’s truer to state i was born with it, i would roam around the louvre or versailles at six and already feel so in awe and in my element, or i would arrive in rome at nine and feel home), but the real turning point of my artistic taste was the art for art’s sake movement, walter pater and oscar wilde. only ten years later i discovered donna tartt, and i had already graduated from my classics high school and in general studied the classics for ten years - yes, donna tartt added a great deal of beauty in my life, but i was already completely part of that world, so to speak.
it’s so difficult to list all the artists, and styles, and in general all the beauty that daily inspires my life, the right answer would be, “everything that strikes me within and that i find beautiful”, and that can be literally anything, but i can try, for art’s sake :)

MILANO. THE OSII'S LODGE, Luigi Brenna
THE OSII'S LODGE was built in Piazza dei Mercanti (Merchants' square) in the second decade of the 1300s. A big solid arch of the medioeval covered square frames the unusual facade painted with light colors passing from pale pink to gray. If you look at it not thinking about a building could be just a decorated pattern . An unusual composition for Milano which doesn't use very much marble and pointed arches. A curiosity: at the center of the square the well has been placed on the "stone of the failed" where "the fraudulent people were punished with public shame beating their butt as a symbol of their renunciation of all personal possession" (Lopez, Severgnini, 1990). From the balcony of the palace were pronounced edicts and judgments.

THANK YOU @mlscottsdale . . My husband @oscars.husband told me about this news, and I am still processing this honor. . The long walks with no car, in a city almost desolate and burnt by the sun when I first got here made me think twice about this metropolitan city. Remember that I came from many years of living in medioeval cities filled with European traditions . . This city was labeled as a “utopia” in all my architecture books, and i thought to myself; -“I am here!”, I was part of the pages, and I thought it was amazing! . I was close to Taliesin and Cosanti and even Arcosanti, wow! You all cannot imagine how many many postcards (email just started at that time) to my friends and family, it was a year of a lifetime! . Because I was distracted trying to absorb it all during the 1 year I budgeted, and because I found a part time job (with potential), and because it took me longer than I expected, and beacuse I wanted to prove myself that I could do it, I decided to stay and this place home. . It was a not an easy decision, but one o am happy I did. It was not because I had a tradition here, or family members, or a network, or I knew locals and had friends. It was because there were opportunities to be participant, create more, make a difference and be present. I never imagined that one day my talents, and my driven passion (that passion that many talk about and the that moves me), were the fuel to take me here. . I am honored beyond words, and I understand that this is a reinforcement of a commitment to continue working with my Valley of the Sun desert dwellers. . CARLOS CABEZA _ Exposition .Sacré.Galeria Oscar Ascanio 1990.
“et sans savoir pourquoi” Verlaine”
ALFREDO BOULTON. Y el tuyo será siempre el mejor, como debe ser y que así siempre sea.ALFREDO BOULTON , who was for many years a member of The International Council of The Museum of Modern Art..

A 30 days challenge for improving your art!
Ok so I’ve been looking for exercises to improve my art since I’ve been been very unsure about my art style lately and I wanted to iprove, so I decided to write my own challenge!!
Face and expressions:
Day 1: Study of the face structure
Day 2: Study of the face as seen from the front, profile and 3/4
Day 3: Draw some expressions using a photo reference (if you want to add fun use emojis!)
Day 4: Draw some expressions with particular gestures using a photo reference (there are really good in my opinion: x x x x x)
Arms, legs and torso:
Day 5: Study of the structure
Day 6: Study of the body parts as seen from the front, profile and 3/4
Day 7: Draw the body parts in movement (ex: for legs running, for arms punching etc etc)
Hands and feet:
Day 8: Study of the structure
Day 9: Study of the body parts as seen from the front, profile and 3/4
Day 10: Draw a lot of hands and feet using a photo reference (kibbitzer@deviantArt draws perfect hands/feet references but also poses and much more!!)
Day 11: Draw hands holding objects using a photo reference
extra day!!: try to draw shoes, socks or gloves!!
Poses:
Day 12: Study of the structure static and in movement
Day 13: Study of the body as seen from the front, profile and 3/4
Day 14: Draw poses in movement using a photo reference
Day 15: Draw a lot of different poses both static and in movement
Clothes:
Day 16: Study of clothes’ folds
Day 17: Draw a characters wearing what you are wearing or just draw your ootd!
Day 18: Draw a character in traditional clothes or in ancient clothes (medioeval of from Ancient Rome)
Day 19: Draw a character dessed up in 19(insert your favourite decade here)0′s fashion
Day 20: Draw a character in a super detailed outfit (like japanese idol or a wedding dress)
Colors:
Day 21: Exercise on opposite and complementary colors
Day 22: Try to shade a drawing with different colors and not with the darker tone
Day 23: Try to color a drawing with a color palette (you can find great palettes on @color-palettes or just create your own)
Day 24: Use a texture on your drawings, not as background (if you are a traditional fan try to use washitape or print a texture!!)
Light:
Day 25: Draw a character with different light sources
Day 26: Draw a background with different light sources
Day 27: Try to work with reflected light (like a glass window or a gem)
Backgrounds:
Day 28: Draw a background using a photo reference
Day 29: Draw the same background using different points of view
Day 30: Draw a background using a perspective grid (not central, don’t be lazy!!)
Other things you can try for adding more fun:
Try a new tool/media for lineart, a new one for colouring and a new one for shading
Try to use gradients in a drawing
Try to draw something as seen with fisheye or wide angle
Create a new character using this
Draw a gijinka of the random pokemon this pokedex generator gives you
Draw a gijinka of one object in the room you are right now
Mix some of these challenges to have more fun!
Some tips: Don’t be afraid to use references, this doesn’t make you less good. Art imitates what the human sees!
I haven’t tried all of these challenges so I’m not telling you that your art will improve a lot, but it will definitely improve if you draw a lot!
If you all have some tips, references or more challenges don’t be afraid to add them! And if you want to share your entries feel free to post them here tagging them with #artimprovementchallenge or #30dayforartimprovement !!
