I've seen this video going around, and figured I would write a little bit on them.

Marine Evacuation Systems (MES) are pretty cool.

When you are that high up (20-50 meters, sometimes 87m (285ft)) in the air the "chute" method is highly effective compared to the more common "ramp" that you might see on cruise ships (similar to on airplanes), which may also use a mini-chute depending on height.

They are practically the only evacuation method that can evacuate over 700 people in less than thirty minutes, and can handle itself in extreme high winds and even rockier waves.

You only need one person to activate, and from the moment you drop the chute and begin inflation it will only take 60-90 seconds. You can evacuate over 200 people in less than ten minutes.

The rafts will begin inflating and can hold up to, and some exceeding, 700 people. I've included some additional photos of what those rafts look like:

DICIEMBRE

Es Diciembre, un año más se ha ido, cosas y propósitos sin cumplir, metas no alcanzadas, un año perdido? O un año ganado, me gusta decir que solo es un año vivido, una vez más le ganamos a la muerte y añadimos un año de vivencias y memorias a nuestra vida, eso en sí mismo es un logro, o al menos así me gusta pensar.

La emoción se siente en el aire, la gente se oculta del frío bajo capas de ropa, las luces parpadean en las calles, las canciones de cada año resuenan en todos lados, los niños sonríen y anhelantes esperan los días para que lleguen las festividades y con ello los regalos.

La gente sale de sus casas y acude a centros comerciales y todo tipo de lugares buscando el regalo perfecto para sus seres queridos, buscan los ingredientes para el festín de las fiestas, corren de un lado a otro como si el tiempo se fuera de sus manos, como el año que pronto terminará.

Un año más de experiencias vividas y conocimientos adquiridos, esperando recordar momentos felices y dejar atrás los tristes.

Diciembre llega como desenlace de un año que va a su fin y el preámbulo del nuevo que viene, esperando haber mejorado en comparación al otro año y mejorar el año que viene, siempre tratando de ser mejor persona.

Espero que está año que termina haya sido bueno para ustedes y si no fue así espero que quede como el recuerdo de lo fuertes que somos al haber pasado esas adversidades y de lo que hemos mejorado tras lo vivido.

Cómo sea espero sea un buen mes y tengan felicidad en el y sino espero tengan la fuerza de sobrepasar sin mayores complicaciones los momentos difíciles de este mes, cuidense.

This has probably been pointed out before but…

Kinn didn’t technically save Porsche in this scene

Like, he saw Mes raise his gun and sprung into action to try to save Porsche—

But he doesn’t actually get there in time. The bullet grazes Porsche’s arm just after Kinn put his hand on his waist and before he started pulling him away.

What Kinn does manage to do, though, is duck his head down to be right on level with the path of the bullet:

So yeah - Kinn’s still being super heroic here, doing his best to protect Porsche even though he’s the one paying to be protected - but the actual reason either of them survived this scene was pure luck 😂
