im back & im now on my laptop bc its easier to type lol but yeah i am a wealth of random knowledge like that.

What else have you been up to like in life but also any tv shows, music, movies, fashion item, etc you're also into rn???

i love random knowledge (makes you really good at Jeopardy which i always feel is a plus)

not much happening in life at the moment but! i am going to a friends house on Saturday for their annual Over the Garden Wall marathon. and then afterward i'm hopefully going to see Renee Rapp in concert - i still need to buy a ticket but i'm holding off for prices to drop. and then on Sunday, I'm going to see one of my goth bands Motionless in White in concert.

so a busy weekend for me and i hope i feel less like shit in two days!

(and I recently re-bought Netfllix for my own annual Mike Flanagan shows marathon so I'll be hopefully binging all the movies I want to watch that they offer)

The Empress (2022) | Netflix

Philip Froissant and Devrim Lingnau have been cast as the leads in Netflix’ The Empress which is set to premiere in Spring of 2022.

The series will deal with the first months at Viennese court of famous beauty Elisabeth in Bavaria, better known as Sisi, after her marriage to her first cousin Emperor Franz Joseph of Austria.

Both actors are newcomers. Before her casting, Devrim Lingnau has mostly worked as a guest star on German television. Her only non-German role was the titular role in the period drama Carmilla (2019). Philip Froissant so far has only one acting credit on imdb for the upcoming German Netfllix movie Schwarze Insel (2021).

The Empress will have six episodes á 45 minutes in its first season. Showrunner Katharina Eyssen has said that the story could be continued in more seasons if the series is a success. Katrin Gebbe and Florian Cossen are set to direct the first season. Filming is to take place in Spring of 2021.

You can already add The Empress to your list on Netflix and activate the reminder function for release.

In the spirit of more people getting into AtLA thanks to Netfllix and more people coming out of the woodwork to join the rest of us in roasting the god-awful live-action film, I’d like to offer up

A look at the movie from three different perspectives on Avatar: 

A super-fan of the series, someone who watched the series and enjoyed it well enough... and someone who, despite working in the animation industry and being all for appreciating good animation, still hasn’t made time to watch it.

But, don’t be alarmed... They all come to the same exact -- CORRECT -- solution of this film being horseshit.

Hi guys!

Today is my day off from work which has been nuts the last month to say the least but tomorrow some normality might be coming back which I’m so excited to even just think about. I woke up today in such a festive mood so I decided to throw on my comfy lounge wear, make my mums famous hot chocolate and enjoy some movies which resulted in me browsing netfllix for 30 mins before putting on The Holidate again (FYI brill christmas movie).

I try to do days like these as much as i can because honestly this year has been a odd ball to say the least and I think taking that time out to just pause and check on yourself so damn important! I even committed to a makeup free day today which is a rarity for me, sounds silly but even on days off I like to wear makeup because I enjoy the overal process and find it really relaxes me. But I woke up today and threw on some makeup cream and was happy to keep it at that which I think is my own way of letting myself know I need a full chill low maintaince day.

So as you can see in the pic above the red hair is going strong! I think dying my hair was the best thing I could of done for myself this year as stupid as it sounds its made me feel the most me I’ve felt in a long old time. The last time I had red hair I was dating an ex and he said he liked my red hair and when we broke up I did the dramatic thing of getting rid of the red because all i could think was he liked my hair and I hated him. I basically dying my hair hella dark brown which not gonna lie I loved at the time but quickly I was like crap I want my red back so after a few months I started lightining my hair so I could go red again one day. And Finally my hair was in a good enough condition this year to bring back the red I loved. Once I had my red back I felt so stupid getting rid of it in the first place but I was so mad I just wanted to get rid of any trace of him which I’m sure a lot of you can relate but I dyed my hair originally red for me not him so why did i care what some douche bag thought. Moral of that story do what makes you happy and don’t dye your hair just because you broke up with someone.

Well damn who knew a life lesson was going to come out of a lazy day blog post but here we are! Do what makes you happy and makes you feel like the best version of you!

While I know I’m beating a dead horse by saying this, since this movie came out a year ago, but I just thought of this after watching Calluna Reviews video about the Death Note adaptions. If I wrote the Netfllix’s Death Note movie, I would make Mia the main character. (But have it where she’s not based on Misa.)

I’d have it where the story is set 10 years after Light’s death, and Miya’s a moody, rebellious Japanese American teenager, who is angry at the injustices in the world. She, in secret, admires what Light did in Japan and longs to carry on his legacy to pure the world of wrongdoers, but doesn’t tell anyone out of fear of her strict detective father would do if he found out.

One day, Light, who is now a Shemigami, is bored. With Ryuk’s advice, he decides to drop the note book in America. Another more passive male character, who I’ll dub Jeff, finds the Death Note on the ground.

Jeff is infatuated with Miya and acts like one of those creepy “nice guys” around her. Jeff, after her teammates left after cheer practice, starts rambling to her about a tablet he found that can kill people and that they can use it to help people. Miya thinks that he’s off his rocker and a creep. After all, how could a guy this dumb could’ve found a Death Note. She plays along, seeing it as her chance to get him in trouble and to seek justice for those he troubled before.

She goes to his place, with a pocket knife in her purse if he wanted to try anything. They watch a live stream where a man is holding a nursery hostage, and a reporter announces his name on TV. Jeff scribbles down the name of the guy on the screen. The guy gets hit by a car on live tv. Miya is dumbfounded by this. How is that even possible? Did the Death Note change forms? He really is the next Kira.

Jeff allows her to touch the tablet and sees Light. Miya, wanting to use the Death Note, hatches a plan to use his feelings for her as a way to get him to do whatever she wants. Miya becomes his “partner”, pushing him to do whatever she wants. She fights off a cyber hacker/detective under the name White Hat and face off in a game of cat and mouse throughout the story. Miya, seeing Jeff as a liability for her plans, writes down his name in the Death Note and kills him. White Hat discovers that she’s Kira and she confesses, angry that the law still won’t bring those who do harm to justice. Light writes down her name and she dies. White Hat lives. The end.

so idk if u've seen the netflix bodyguard series with richard madden. i have not and tbh i don't really have any interest to because i mourn for the lost opportunity which would have been so much better imo of a mini series remake of the whitney houston bodyguard movie but with richard madden playing kevin costners part. like how truly Romantic™ would that have been idk maybe you don't care about this at all but i needed to tell someone because i am freshly offended whenever i open netfllix

I watched a few eps, but tbh I felt like it took a serious left turn with one plot twist that I disliked--and for that matter, there’s a lot of critique about how it hands Islam.  So I feel like I should step back and see where that goes?

But to your point, YES DEFINITELY.  When I saw the previews I initially thought it was gonna be that?  But no.  Like.  Richard is a very good actor, and I honestly feel like we deserve some Bodyguard remake starring a young beautiful singer and some hot guy, and the singer needs to be already famous, and for that matter I agree that a miniseries would be PERFECT, what a way to remake that movie.  A movie that I unabashedly love.  I super care, anon.

MQOS is closing the AFI and then the US premiere will be in December,and UK in January,right? Can you explain what that means exactly? Small group of people go to the AFI?When could you watch the movie outside the cinemas? Like OF came on Netflix and other sites days ago? Sorry if it sounds dumb but I'm not from UK or US and it's confusing.

Hi! Yeah, some people and critics will see the film for the first time at AFI Fest in November, then it will be in cinemas. I think with Operation Finale, because it was a smaller film, they decided to forego a theatrical release and put it on Netfllix in every country except US and UK (although in the UK it’s in theatres and on Netflix) so that’s a specific situation. With MQOS, if they decide to put it on Netflix, I think it won’t be until it’s available on digital/dvd. But MQOS will likely have lots of international release dates in early 2019, so depending on where you live, there’s still a good chance you could see it in theatres.
