a/n: this is pretty casual and silly tbh haha. it’s been sitting in my google drive for a while so i thought i’d finally post it :) i tried to make this as non-descriptive as possible while also getting the point across !! hope it makes u smile hehe <3

⿻ CHAN

he’d try to be really responsible about responding to this.

he’s the type of person who would thank you for telling him. he’d just be so happy you feel comfortable enough to confide in him.

i could definitely see him asking you questions about it right away, wanting to have an adult discussion about it.

as long as you’re comfortable with it though !! he doesn’t want to push.

you’d be able to tell how professional he’s trying to act, which is comforting but also a little funny.

once you point it out, he’d finally relax a bit and chuckle, his ears turning slightly red from embarrassment.

still, through talking about your sexuality and answering his questions, both of you would really benefit from the conversation and feel closer afterward.

and, if you hit it off with that person, he’d hold it over you for the rest of your life...

you’d probably end up having a deep conversation regarding sexuality and gender afterward, and it would be really therapeutic for the both of you.

you both trust each other a lot and are respectful of each other’s feelings, so acceptance would be a no brainer for hyunjin (uwu).

he’d get a little nervous, honestly.

for good reason! he’d be scared of saying or doing the wrong thing. and he can tell this is super important to you/making you feel just as nervous.

his first instinct would be to give you a big hug. no matter what, it’s his go-to reaction to big announcements, good or bad. and this is a good one !!

once you break away, he’d be a bit quiet, allowing you to explain yourself. he’d hold onto your hands though, especially once he sees them shaking a little.

he’d straight up ask: “so who else knows?”

why? so he doesn’t accidentally out you to the other guys.

or literally anyone else he sees DFKJ

overall, things would be a bit awkward at the very beginning because he wouldn’t know exactly to handle the situation, but he’ll just be really considerate of your feelings in order to move forward.

also it would end in a high five but that’s obvious

⿻ FELIX

i feel like felix would be the most casual about it, in the best way possible.

he’d make it seem like you coming out was just a subtopic in the conversation and talk calmly without sounding startled by the information at all.

but on the inside, he’d be SO EXCITED OMG

obviously, he wouldn’t be rude. however, he’d definitely try not to make a big deal out of it since he genuinely doesn’t think it’s that big of a game changer.

he knows it’s important, of course, but he’d prefer to normalize it right away than make it into a big thing.

“so… do you have any celebrity crushes i don’t know about?”

you’d spend the rest of the day/night talking about your sexuality in the most nonchalant way. you’d recount stories of realization from your past, and seungmin would listen and react just like he would any other time.

*gasp* “really?”

“i know i don’t know this person, but you’re way too good for them.”

regardless, seungmin is able to make you feel comfortable right away. he just has that effect :’)

⿻ JEONGIN

didn’t see it coming at all

for starters, it’s not that he wouldn’t know what it all means, but he’d definitely ask for a bit of clarification just to make sure he knows exactly how you identify, especially if it’s somewhere in the bi/pansexual realm.

nevertheless, he wouldn’t make a big deal about it, similarly to seungmin with a dash of hyunjin’s soft excitement.

Summary: JJ Maybank is the one who makes sure your kook lawn is immaculate. Your family may look perfect just like the lawn from someone looking from the outside in, but it turns out you and JJ have more in common than you thought.

You step out onto your front porch, a glass of lemonade in your hand. Taking a sip you watched as JJ pushed the mower across the front lawn. He was early this morning. He’d discarded his shirt and you could see the beats of sweat along his back, along with the muscles work. He was handsome, no doubt about that.

Stepping back inside before he saw you, you went and grabbed a cold-water bottle from the fridge and headed back out. “Hey!” You called out as you walked to JJ through the fresh cut grass.

He turned around and then bent down to turn off the mower, “Hey. Everything okay?”

You nod, holding a water bottle to him, “You need to stay hydrated.”

He takes it and generously gulps it down, “Thank you.” He can’t help himself; he lets his eyes wonder down your body. He’d always thought you were beautiful. This was the one house on figure 8 he didn’t mind working out in the heat for. You were always the nicest to him too. He knew you two could never be anything. He was a pogue and you were a kook.

“You’re here early this morning. I almost missed you.” You push your sunglasses over your head.

“Yeah, I got a few more yards to get done today, so I wanted to get an early start.” He wipes the back of his hand over his forehead, leaving a small piece of grass.

“You.. you got a little,” stepping closer your slowly brought your hand to his forehead and grabbed the grass.

He watched as you leaned in, your strawberry shampoo leaving off a fragrance. He could see you had freckles along your cheeks and a small scar over your eyebrow, something he’d never noticed. He’d also never been this close to you. You were close enough he could lean in-

“Y/n!” Your dad yelled.

He’d watched as you jumped at your dad calling your name, your demeanor changing. You jumped back, looking at him and faking a smile, “yes?”

“Your mother needs help on the back porch. Leave the yard boy alone.” He took a sip of whatever was in a glass. JJ wondered if it was alcohol. His dad drank early in the mornings too. Your family was perfect though, nothing like his family.

You turned back around, “Sorry, I gotta go.”

JJ nods, “Yeah, I gotta get back to work.” He stuffs the water bottle in his back pocket, “Thanks for the water.”

You slip your glasses back over your face, nodding, “of course.” You flashed him a smile and headed back to the house. He took a moment to watch you. No one else would have caught it, but he did. He saw it because he does the same thing; the small flinch when your dad put his hand on your shoulder.

JJ took a sip of the red solo cup as he surveyed the beach. It was a Friday night, you were always on the beach for these parties, kook boys following you around like a bunch of lost puppies, but he hadn’t spotted you.

“You looking for someone?” John B asked from next to him.

He takes another sip, “No.”

“He is. He’s looking for y/n.” Kie smirks, sitting on the other side of JJ.

“The girl you cut grass for?” Pope asks.

“She’s just usually here.” JJ shrugs, standing.

“Maybe she has other plans than party on the beach like we all do.” Kie says, “I mean she’s a kook. Her family probably took their private jet to the Bahamas for the weekend or something.”

“Her family is literally the definition of perfect.” Pope adds, “I deliver groceries there every Tuesday and I don’t think I’ve ever seen any dirt in their house. I mean the place is spotless. Same with the yard.”

JJ takes another look around the beach, “I don’t know if they’re perfect. No one’s perfect.” He looks at Pope, “Can I tag along Tuesday to help deliver groceries?”

“So, you can see her?” John B smirks, “Dude, you’re so whipped for her.”

JJ rolls his eyes, “No, because I need the extra cash.”

Kie hums, “Sure, JJ. Okay.” She does the whip motion with her hands.

Okay so he did need the extra cash but also because he needed a reason to see you. He wouldn’t be back at your house until Friday to work on the lawn and he wanted to see you before then. There was something not sitting right with him and he wanted to check on you. Obviously, he can’t just show up to your house, so delivering groceries to your house with Pope? Not suspicious at all.

“I got this, Pope.” JJ says, grabbing the groceries and stepping off the dock.

Pope nods, sitting down, “Good, cause I could use a break.”

JJ heads up the dock to the house, glancing around. The yard was perfect. Nothing was out of place. Maybe he just did a good job? Even after the rainstorm last night, you’d think there would be some debris from the trees, but there was nothing. He steps up on the front porch and knocks.

You slip down the stairs, wrapped in a blanket, but your dad beats you to the door. When he opens it, it’s JJ standing there with groceries. “Delivery.” JJ holds the groceries up.

Your dad nods, opening the door, “Just set it in the kitchen.”

He glances at you as he walks by. He wonders if you’d been crying. He could see your face was splotchy and red.

“I’ll take him to the kitchen.” You say to your dad, who waves you off before stepping back into another room and closing the door. You motion for JJ to follow you, “Pope okay today?”

“Huh?” He asks, following you.

“Pope. He’s usually the one who delivers the groceries. Is he okay?” You motion to the island, “you can just set them there.”

“Oh yeah.” He sets the groceries on the island, “I needed the extra cash is all. So, I tagged along.”

You nod, “Tell him I said hey.” You look through the fridge, grabbing two coconut waters, “And give him one of these. He likes them.”

“Coconut water?” JJ asks, raising an eyebrow at you.

You laugh a little nodding, “I keep it around for Pope when he delivers. He likes them.”

JJ shakes his head, “Pope likes coconut water.” He chuckles, “Alright I’ll give him one.” He starts to step away from you but turns back around, “You weren’t at the boneyard Friday night.”

“Keeping tabs on me, Maybank?” You smirk, raising an eyebrow.

JJ blushes, “I just..”

You laugh, putting a hand on his arm, “It’s okay. I um.. I had something come up.” You slip a piece of hair behind your ear.

“Oh. Okay… well I better get going.”

“See you on Friday?” You ask, following him to the door.

He opens it and turns to you, “Bright and early Friday morning.” He smiles and you return the smile, “Bye JJ.” Your voice is soft, almost like it would burst into tears.

He didn’t want to leave but he pushed himself out the door, “Bye y/n.” and stepped off the porch. Pope was right, the house was perfect and clean. Too perfect. I mean there wasn’t anything out of place. As he makes his way back to the dock, he takes one last glance at the house to see your dad standing at the window, watching him.

Fic Writer Interview Game

was tagged by @extraordinarilyextreme <3 thank you so much! was out all day and only got around to this now lol

name: emmy/thosch3i whatever u wanna call me, it’s all good lol

fandoms: currently, only dmbj but previously also zhenhun. most of my fics on my ao3 are still weilan but maybe one day i’ll kick my ass into gear and write more pingxie LOL.

two-shots: ......I only write one-shots i’m sorry LOL

most popular multi-chapter fic: ............i really do only have one-shots man im sorry. most popular fic in general is going viral, at 840 kudos. shen wei vs technology in covid-era online classes lol. glad all 840 of you were coping with this pandemic well(?????)

actual worst part of writing: getting ideas from brain onto paper. talking about fun angsty ideas in dms? awesome! actually writing them? uhhhhhhhhhhh [sweats] also lol finding time to write. i feel like i never have time these days but maybe my time management is just...terrible.

how you choose your titles: i write the entire fic and then panic throw a random line that sounds vaguely related as the title. idk what im doing, ever, dont ask me things. *lies down*

do you outline?: usually yeah. most of the time my writing goes horribly south from the actual outline anyway though. (everything’s fine folks i promise--) though sometimes for short fics i’ll just have a general idea and start typing. and then it turns into like 15k words and i despair

ideas you probably won’t get around to, but wouldn’t it be nice?: all of my old weilan fics lol. i had a huge 20k outline for a weilan x dbh crossover with android shen wei and Plot and Twists and Betrayal and Revelations and whatnot and honestly i was rly hyped to write it, i got 50k for nanowrimo two years ago but ehhhh i just dont have the brain for guardian anymore....im only capable of fixating on one fandom at a time. looking through my guardian wips i also have multiple other soulmate AUs, a literal ghost!sw + human!zyl AU with a whole other plot, urban fantasy demon!sw + human(?)zyl again with....more plot. lol i give up on life *shrugs*

callouts @ me: write faster and also read more fics in english instead of chinese because you’re forgetting how the english language works at this point, dumbass

best writing traits: i legit do not know. descriptions? fluff? pining? lol help

spicy tangential opinion: hmmm...mainly, i dont read much eng dmbj fanfic bc i dont vibe with most popular eng fandom fanon/characterization, sorry 😅 uhhhhh i also really hate it when people forget that xg & pz have their own friendship and relationship independent of wx......pz tends to bring out xg’s playful side at times, which un showed w their last couple eps and also there’s a novel extra where xg pranks pz (&wx but mostly pz bc wx sees through it p quickly) with a fake zombie turtle and it’s rly cute lol. anyway t3j’s relationship is the heart of dmbj and it can’t be intruded upon or broken up by others, esp by chongqi/rain village. uhhhh another spicy opinion: i vastly prefer huaxiu to hei///hua, sorry guys orz i blame tlt2...huaxiu are too cute ;;;;;; anyway ill stop there before the entire dmbj tumblr fandom blocks me LOL. (i also have too many Opinions(tm) about characterization.)

but anyway, so like im definitely a cranky judgy bastard at times, but in the end fanfic is fanfic so u can write whatever ooc crackship crack premise stuff you want, have fun with it. i certainly do too. as long as you’re having fun then that’s all that matters. tangentially related, dramas don’t have to be Objectively Good/Amazing or anything for you to like them. i definitely have very strong opinions on dmbj adaptations for example re: how they respect the novel and characterization of t3j especially, but they all have their own problems....(some far more serious than others). i could write an essay about that but i wont, to save your eyes LOL.

(i mean at the end of the day i unironically love time raiders and that is like an objectively terrible movie.)

tagging: im so inactive on tumblr im sorry idk anyone anymore. i think lots of dmbj writers have already been tagged but also i dont read much dmbj fanfic so im not sure who else there is OTL @laireshi ik u already got tagged but if u choose to do this i wanna see :D otherwise if you’re a fic writer and you see this please feel free to tag yourself~

Ok the whole thing w/ clogging up ao3 tags is stupid for multiple reasons, like how it fucks with screen readers for one, but the MAJOR issue is that having too many tags isn’t actually a problem w/ ao3

Like seriously guys? There is a lot to criticize. And I say this as someone who heavily relied on fandom spaces to get me through some really really hard times and still loves ao3. I can say I love what it does for fandom while also acknowledging there’s some seriously fucked up shit going on both behind the scenes and with ppl who use the site. It’s literally like saying “I love tumblr but I acknowledge there are literal nazis on here and as a Jew/human with a working brain I hate them and that they’ve been here so long”

Like. I get u think ur sticking it to the man or whatever. And idk I partially agree bc. There’s so much nasty shit and some technically illegal shit that I don’t want to even mention! But ur not even wasting the moderators time or anything ur just being obnoxious and then everyone starts discoursing on tumblr and I’m legitimately tired of it. I don’t wanna see ppl defending gross stuff and I’m tired of talking about the ppl who do defend gross stuff bc I don’t wanna remember that they exist bc I have shit to do irl and not enough space in my brain for them

So. Idk ima propose at least a temporary solution before I have to hear one more argument for or against censorship bc y’all seriously don’t understand how to have a nuanced conversation

How about instead of asking AO3 to take down gross fics (which may or may not be morally correct but will 100% reopen a very over done conversation) instead we ask for some specific plausible things

1) when you use ao3 explicit and unrated fics are automatically filtered out. They do this on ff.net. Yes it may be like 2 extra clicks for ppl who wanna read explicit stuff but ppl who don’t are going to do that anyway, and it protects the people who don’t know to do that and don’t want to read graphic tags. Most importantly it requires consent to browse explicit fics. Yeah you need to give consent to read explicit stuff, but you can look through the incredibly graphic tags/summaries without consenting to anything. It’s literally the default. Which is both upsetting to ppl who don’t wanna see that and also maybe a bit of a legal loophole they should close up

2) a “suggest tags” feature. This would be moderated by authors not ao3 staff. Basically ppl can like..... idk entire a series of tags and you can choose if you want to add them or not. The person submitting them has an option to be anonymous or not. Obviously the author doesn’t have to add every random tag and it might be annoying but it would help with making sure triggers got tagged. It would be helpful if it didn’t let you suggest tags that were already suggested/on the fic but I’m not too picky. Like I said the point of this is to make sure ppl can block stuff properly, and it honestly might also help authors with visibility bc like. Obviously you know the tags you use but you don’t know what tags other ppl look for. Again maybe it may be obnoxious with ppl having a lot of tags but people already have a lot of tags

3) a dispute rating button. Now before someone bitches at me that the ao3 moderators don’t have time to go through disputes- I know I already took that into consideration. Basically the idea is when you dispute the rating the site will ask you what rating you think it should be and anonymously log it. So if someone rated something M but you think it should be an E the site will log that and send a message to the author. The author has a choice if they actually want to listen to ppl and change the rating or not. They don’t actually have to listen to the ppl disputing the rating. Unless they get a certain amount of disputes. I was thinking maybe like 50 or so?* So if 50 ppl say “hey this really needs to have a different rating” then and only then would the moderators take a look at the fic. And the moderators would then figure out what the rating should be.

(*idk if 50 is the right #. I was thinking it should maybe work on like a percentage of your hits in the fic?)

3.5) have a sexual content marker. This is marked as 3.5 bc i feel like this idea if implemented would be misused. But yeah in theory you could just have a sexual content marker that could be clicked by the OP and then automatically filtered. Again you could use the system from #3 but again I feel like ppl would missuse it.

Anyway yeah. I wanted to give some viable solutions ppl on both sides might actually agree with. Like I get not wanting to make concessions with gross ppl, but it’s a lot faster so I’m ok with doing it for now while the rest of y’all continue to debate or w/e

Final note- please for the love of g-d learn how ratings work. Ask someone else’s opinion if you have too. I have seen so many explicit fics marked as mature or teen it’s a legitimate problem. I’ll give a quick rundown of what each rating means but pls guys

General- g- basically go by what you’d see in a Disney cartoon

Teen- pg/pg 13 - there are swears there’s violence, sex may be mentioned, you might call someone sexy or smthn idc, but no one is shown having sex or or discussing/thinking about it in detail

Mature- R - injuries/gore may be described with more detail. Uhh there could be some heavy making out and the characters might talk about sex or feeling sexually attracted to someone. But actual sex is not shown!! If you have to mention or refer to someone’s genetalia in any sexual way you should probably move it up to an E. Even if ur characters are fully clothed the entire time. Also If you’re talking about kinks outside of a quick joke or reference you should probably move it up to an E.

Explicit- NC 17- sexually explicit content. (You can put non-sexual violent stuff under here but most ppl leave it under mature)

TLDR/oversimplification(for the ratings) -

General: nothing sexual

Teen: implied sex

Mature: refrenced sex

Explicit: shown sex

General tldr:

Some criticisms of Ao3 are valid and needed, and some are just stupid and infuriating (specifically talking about the tag thing stop it’s annoying and ableist). There is constant arguments and drama surrounding those criticisms, and I decided to offer some solutions that actually have a chance at getting implemented, even if I would prefer a different option.

Merlin and Naruto

I did Merlin here, so here’s Naruto! :D

[disclaimer for everyone: I have only watched up through Season 10 of Shippuden (the arc with the Five Kage Summit), and I am trying to avoid spoilers for everything after that point, so please don’t interact with this (including tags, because tumblr shows them to me automatically) unless you are avoiding ALL spoilers. For me, this includes discussion about whether you like/dislike future seasons, comparisons of various seasons in terms of quality, etc. Thanks, everyone! <3]

My favorite parent-child relationship: I know they’re not blood-related, but Iruka and Naruto have me crying every time I see them together. Naruto straight-up says that when he’s with Iruka he feels like he knows what it’s like to have a father, and honestly, Iruka loves Naruto so much at this point that he would insta-adopt him if Naruto asked. I love how Naruto always cites Iruka as the first person who cared for him even later in the show when Iruka hasn’t had as much screentime, and when I saw Iruka cry because he’s so proud of Naruto at the end of the Pain arc, it was just...too much for my little heart to handle.

My favorite sibling relationship: You know, thinking about it, almost all of the people in Naruto are only children, as far as we know! But in terms of just that sibling vibe - Sakura and Naruto definitely give me that feel. I know he has a crush on her, but their relationship has always felt more sibling-like to me, and I especially love how deep their bond has become by the time we get to Shippuden. They are just so comfortable with each other now - the depth of the love and friendship they feel for each other is palpable.

My favorite family relationship (other): I adore Naruto’s relationship with Jiraiya. That scene where Naruto falls asleep against his back almost killed me, and Jiraiya’s later line, “Your smile is my salvation” - that was too much. It absolutely destroyed me. The way Jiraiya kind of gave up on everything after his old life went to hell - neverending wars, Orochimaru gone, his original students dead, his student’s students dead, Minato dead - he just ran away after that, and it was meeting Naruto that kind of rekindled that spark of hope in him and helped him reconnect with his community and rediscover a sense of purpose in his life. Naruto enabled him to finally come home, and I think that’s beautiful.

My favorite friendship between two people: There are so many friendships in Naruto that I love (one of the greatest things about this show for me has been how little focus is given to romantic relationships, at least so far; it’s very much a friendship-oriented show), but right now I’m in a bit of a Kakashi-Yamato hole. I was super primed to not like Yamato when he first showed up, because him being there meant that my favorite character WASN’T there, and also he ended up replacing Kakashi on the one mission where the team finally found Sasuke, but the guy won me over in the end. He is one of my favorite characters now - my heart just swells every time I see him - and I think his relationship with Kakashi is super interesting. I’ve written before about how Kakashi’s only truly intimate friendships are with people who are dead, and I do think that applies when it comes to Yamato, too, even though the two of them are obviously very companionable and close. There is still a level to that relationship where Kakashi is a bit of a mentor figure, the “superior officer,” which results in a degree of (still friendly and affectionate) distance. And as with all of his other relationships, Kakashi doesn’t really confide in Yamato about his life or open up to him in the same way that he does when he talks to his dead friends - but at the same time, there is an element to their relationship that doesn’t exist in Kakashi’s other friendships, and it’s the fact that Kakashi trusts Yamato with his kids, implicitly and without reservation. Kakashi’s entire life right now is very much enmeshed in what happens to his students, and even if he doesn’t necessarily talk about that with Yamato, Yamato is still deeply involved in that work. Yamato VOLUNTEERED for that work. And he continues to dedicate himself to it even when his first mission as Kakashi’s stand-in ends up going completely off the rails and turning into WAY more than he signed up for. He keeps doing his utmost for Kakashi’s kids without it even being his original responsibility, and that is such an unusual thing, for Kakashi, who in every other circumstance is always the one stepping in to help other people, the one who always shoulders his burdens alone. Nobody ever asks Kakashi if he needs help with these incredibly high-needs children, and neither does Yamato - but the difference is that Yamato jumps in to help regardless, and he stays no matter how complicated things get. That’s huge, and it’s only going to become more important. It’s just - it is difficult for Kakashi to have intimate friendships with people who don’t share his history, and this rules out almost everybody else in the world, because all the people who truly share his own history are dead. But the degree to which Yamato has altruistically and irreversibly entwined himself into the most important parts of Kakashi’s new history - the chapters being written right now, the ones that are going to define the rest of Kakashi’s life - means that Yamato is well on his way to breaking through that wall and becoming the first exception to a universal rule. [There is a lot to be said on Kakashi’s side of this, too, like - every time Kakashi refuses to call Yamato by his code name I lose my mind just a little bit, and I have MANY thoughts about Kakashi basically dragging folks who’ve been victimized or exploited or experimented on out of ANBU and then absorbing them into his own team, where they become a part of a family-type unit that respects them and cares about them and treats them like human beings. I mean, there’s a huge difference between the Yamato we meet in S2 vs. the Yamato we know in S10 (and the same thing goes for Sai!) - and that’s something I think about a lot.]

My favorite friendship between a group: I love all of the team dynamics, but Team Gai is a fave XD The absurd contrast between oh-so-serious Neji vs. Gai/Lee’s incredible goofiness (with Tenten’s exasperation in between) is comedy gold. I screamed with laughter in S1 when Gai was trying to get Neji to put his hand in the circle and do their “shout a slogan like a sports team” thing - I’ve never seen anything funnier on this show than jonin!Neji trying to put up with Gai’s antics.

My favorite mentorship: My favorite mentorship is always Kakashi and whichever kid happens be onscreen with him at that moment, but I’ll be honest and say that Kakashi+Sasuke was the first dynamic that got me actually invested in this show (as opposed to me just watching it because it was on and not really caring what happened to any of the characters). They are still the mentorship dynamic about which I have the most complex feelings, and that is especially true after the last season we watched. I will probably end up making a separate post about this, because I still have not written down all of my thoughts about the end of Season 10 and I am still trapped in my feelings about this very lost child and the only adult who ever tried to help him the way he deserved to be helped, and I know I have way more to say about them than I can reasonably fit in this bullet point. But - the short version is that I am super compelled by the way that every tragedy that’s befallen Kakashi is precisely what shapes him into the only adult who can help this particular kid, the way seemingly senseless events ended up putting Kakashi in a position where he’s the only adult who can intervene on this kid’s behalf many, many years later. The way Sasuke’s plight (and the potential that Kakashi has to help him) suddenly grants meaning to the worst parts of Kakashi’s life - that knocks me on my butt.

My favorite rivalry: So I probably would not have said this until the episode where Kakashi comes three seconds away from being made Hokage, but I’m gonna say Gai & Kakashi, solely to express my love and appreciation for Gai in that episode. This is the ep where Gai challenges Kakashi to a race through the entire village (as a sort of “last hurrah before we can’t do this kind of silly shit anymore” thing) and Kakashi is initially kind of reluctant to do it, because he’s stressed out about a lot of things, but he does end up agreeing to it, and then he has SO much fun, and I LOVED this so much; I can’t even tell you. This moment takes place immediately after Kakashi returns from that horrible, awful confrontation with Sasuke, and everything preceding this scene was very hard for me to see, because everybody is just asking Kakashi to do more and more and more for them without giving him even a hot minute to be like “i almost just killed my own kid. i almost just had to kill my own kid, who was trying to kill my other kid, who was trying to kill kid #1 first, so i wouldn’t have assume the burden of killing him myself.” Nobody checks on him, nobody asks, and Kakashi has to just hold onto that horror and also fret over the uncertain yet chilling secrets that Madara Uchiha disclosed and also prepare to shoulder the crushing weight of an office he never asked for - AND THEN. GAI SHOWS UP. And even though Gai doesn’t really know what happened, he still checks Kakashi over from top to bottom to make sure he’s in one piece, and then he drags him into this stupid competition, and it makes Kakashi LAUGH. They go running all out across the craterized scene of devastation that used to be their home, and they have FUN doing it, and Kakashi straight-up tells Gai, “This was just what I needed,” which - god. It would be great if Kakashi had somebody he could actually talk to, sure, but there’s also a space in our lives for people who just cheer us up, no questions asked. It’s like when you tell someone you have a problem and they ask, “Do you want to talk about it or do you want to be distracted?” Sometimes you don’t need to talk about it. Sometimes you just need people who will take you for a goofy footrace and make you feel like you’re running too fast for any of your troubles to ever touch you again, for a few minutes.

My favorite hatred/antipathy: The answer to this question used to be Kakashi and Itachi, and while I’m even MORE fascinated by their dynamic now than ever, it’s taken on a whole new dimension, given that I think Itachi is (secretly) thrilled to see someone like Kakashi so committed to taking him down and keeping Sasuke safe. So, in place of that, I’ll just say that I love how much all of the Akatsuki cannot stand each other XD Almost none of them get along, and it makes me laugh every time - I can’t believe they ever get anything done, though I guess that’s to be expected when you get that many super-criminals together in a room. I especially love how they all think Orochimaru is so stupid...cannot get over them laughing at him and his body-snatching immortality schemes.

My favorite potential relationship between characters who never talk in canon: Okay, these are both silly answers, but - I would have KILLED to see Jiraiya interacting with Minato’s team. Like, I’m certain they spent time together, but honestly, what I wouldn’t give to have witnessed some of it. All I could think about during that mini-arc where Jiraiya teaches Naruto how to sync up with Gamariki was how little!Kakashi would have taken one look at the dancing frogs and decided he would be using dog!summons for the rest of his life; meanwhile Obito would have already been in the frog’s mouth begging to be launched into the air like a cannonball. Also - my sister said the other night how it is a CRIME that we never got to see Sasuke forced to interact with Jiraiya and honestly, that is too true.

You’d just hit the 9 month mark and well baby pogue (or baby kook as all Rafe’s friends call it) could be here any day now. It was all up to her to make her famous debut. The last 5 months were smooth sailing. The apartment over the garage was fixed up for you, Rafe and the baby. The nursery was painted, furniture together, and décor hung on the walls, thanks to Sarah and Kie.

You waddled your way through the apartment; Rafe was in the living room watching tv and that’s when you saw it. You bursted into tears like it was the worst thing in the world. Rafe was quick on his feet, “What?! What’s wrong?” He hurried to you, jumping over a pile of dirty clothes to be put in the laundry, “Are you okay?”

You shook your head, putting your forehead against his chest, your belly creating a large space between the two of you.

“Baby… what’s wrong? Why are you crying?” He wraps his arms around you.

“t-the shoes.” You sniffled, pulling away from him and pointing to the shoes that were by the door. It was his shoes he’d taken off when he arrived home earlier. Instead of going in the closet like usual they were sitting neatly by the door and for some reason it was the end of the world for you.

Rafe let out a soft chuckle, “I’m sorry baby. I’ll put them up.” He slowly pulls from you and grabs the shoes from the floor and putting them on the rack in the closet, “Better?”

You sniffled, nodding and wiping your eyes, “They just weren’t where they were supposed to be.”

“Please be careful…” Kie winced as Pope and John B helped you over into the boat. You may have been 9 months pregnant and the size of a whale but that didn’t stop you from a nice relaxing day on the boat.

“I’m fine, Kie.” You huff, sitting down on your usual seat. “Thank you, boys.”

“Are you sure you should be out on the boat?” Pope asks, grabbing your bag from the dock and setting it in the boat.

“You look like you’re about to pop.” JJ adds, sitting down.

You and Kie give him a look and he holds his hands up in defense, “I’m just saying.”

“My doctor said it was fine as long as it was smooth rides.” You look at John B, who nods, “I won’t go out of the marsh. It’ll be smooth.”

“What if you go into labor?” JJ looks uneasy as he looks at your belly and then back up at you, “I’m not a doctor. None of us are.”

You roll your eyes, “JJ, I’ll be fine. We’re not going far out. Soon, I won’t be able to do this. I just needed to get out of the house.” You knew you probably should have come out considering you had pains in your stomach all morning, but they weren’t anything major. You figured they were Braxton hicks or false labor. You’d already had a scare and Rafe had rushed you to the hospital only to be told it was Braxton hicks. You didn’t want that to happen again.

You ran a hand over your stomach, “Will you guys please stop looking at me like I’m a little china doll that could break?”

You took a deep breath as another pain rolled through your lower stomach, clenching your eyes shut. This one was more intense than the others.

“You okay?” John B puts a hand on your shoulder.

You nod, “Yeah fine. Just some Braxton hicks.”

“Maybe we should head back.” John B offers.

You stand, “John B I’m fine, okay? I just need to walk a little.” You craned your neck from side to side as you took a couple steps. And that’s when you felt it. “Oh no.” You look up at the pogues, eyes wide. Your water just broke.

“Oh my god.” Kie says.

“Oh, that’s disgusting.” JJ makes vomit noises.

“Shit.” Pope adds.

“And it’s time for us to go.” John B says, getting behind the wheel. “Everyone sit down!”

“Someone has to call Rafe!” You clutch at JJ and Pope’s hand as they help you walk up toward the chateau.

“On it!” Kie says, digging through your bag for your phone.

JJ winces, “Shit, y/n.. don’t break my hand.”

You send him a look and he quickly shuts up, “You squeeze it however hard you need too. Yup, you can break my hand if you need to.” He nods.

“Get her in the van.” John B puts some blankets down in the van, moving trash out of the way.

You double over as another contraction hits, “Oh god..”

“Note that one Pope.” John B says.

“Yup I got it! They’re getting closer. Maybe 7 minutes?”

“Rafe, she’s in labor! I don’t know, we were on the boat and her water broke… yes we’re on our way.. okay we’ll meet you there.” Kie throws the phone back in the bag, “Rafe’s meeting us there.”

“Can we get going then before she pops this baby out right here?!” JJ looks frantically at the pogues.

“She’s beautiful..” Rafe whispers next to you. You were ready to push as soon as you got there. Rafe was already waiting in the hospital for you guys to arrive. It only took a few good pushes and she was here.

“She has your eyes..” You gently rub your finger over her cheek, looking up at him, “You ready to hold her?”

He nods, gently taking her from you. His eyes tear up looking down at the baby swaddled in a pink blanket, “Hi baby girl..” He slowly backs up so he can sit in the rocker next to you, slowly rocking back and forth. “I thought you were beautiful..” He looks up at you, “But she’s breathtaking, y/n. I mean she’s perfect.”

You nod, “We made a pretty cute baby, didn’t we?”

He chuckles, nodding, “We did. Who would have thought you and I having a drunken one-night stand on the beach would end in this?”

“A lot of good came from that one night stand.”

There was a soft knock on the door, “Come in..” In walked the pogues. John B had a bouquet of flowers, JJ had balloons, Kie had a gift bag and Pope had a teddy bear in his hands.

Rafe slowly stands from the rocker, “she’s beautiful, you guys.”

Kie gives an excited quiet squeal, putting the gift bag down, coming over to Rafe, “look at her.. oh she’s so cute and little.”

John B comes to your side, setting the flowers on your bed side table, “How’s mama feeling?” He kisses your head.

“I’m good.. Better now that she’s here.” You give his hand a squeeze.

“she’s going to have a hard time with boys because her uncles are going to kick the asses of all the boys that come near her..” JJ coos over Kie’s shoulder.

“Yes we are.. you’re never going to have a boyfriend.” Pope coos.

“Finally, something we all agree on..” Rafe chuckles, handing Kie the baby.

John B walks over, holding his hand out to Rafe, “Congratulations, man. She’s beautiful.”

Rafe nods, shaking John B’s hand, “Thank you. And thank you for getting her here safely. And in time.” He chuckles.

You watch as Rafe and the pogues stand around admiring her. You never thought you would be sitting here 10 months ago. However, you wouldn’t take anything back. Your friendships were stronger. You managed to catch the love of your life and now brought a beautiful and healthy new baby into the world. The pogues vs kooks was over, non-existent. This one mistake brought you great things.

“What’s her name?” Pope asks, looking up at you. The other pogues looking at you as well.

“Maddie Anne Cameron.”

You’d had plenty of mistakes over the last 10 months, but this one mistake ended up being the best thing that had ever happened to you.

Do you write fluff/angst/crack/general/smut, combo, etc? Why? i don’t really much write fluff since i don’t have any idea how to write a good fluff!! :( this has been an issue every time i write some au’s. so im always ending up writing and focusing more on angst. it’s the genre i know best. well, crack… it’s hard to make the readers laugh when you can’t even make their tooth ache from sweetness with your fluffy writings. :( smut… i don’t write smut explicitly any more. i’m more on the suggestive side rn.

Why did you decide to write for Tumblr? uhm, back in 2017, i was searching for some website where i could publish my works. ive always been a tumblr-girl since i am that wanna-be-aesthetic kinda person :D then i had found that i could write and publish on tumblr so yeah that’s pretty much why i am on this app rn

What inspires you to write? ooh, music has been a great help for sure!! whenever i don’t feel like writing something, i always listen to music and the idea would flow like a river. classic poems helps, too. :)

What genres/AUs do you enjoy writing the most? supernatural!au’s, fantasy!au, medieval!au. i feel like it’s easier to write something out of pure fantasy. i have a hard time writing modern!au’s since i lack the humor and the knowledge for modern slangs.

What do you hope your readers take away from your work? ooh, i always always always am careful with the way that i craft all my works. i try to feel what my characters feel to give them a certain validation. i put my shoes on the scenarios i have in mind even though i haven’t yet experienced everything ive written. and i do love writing strong female characters, whether it’s oc’s or female readers. that’s my main priority whenever i write. and i want them to know that girls could do just as much everything boys could. women are powerful.

What do you do when you hit a rough spot creatively? i read a lot to get back on my foot. i also try to re-read my past works so i’d be inspired to better my writing on my current draft.

What is your favorite work and why? Your most successful? my favorite work is the one i’m still writing rn, which is entitled 505. it’s a hendery fic in which he is a bandit and the female reader is a sacristan. it’s my fave since i relate myself so much to the female reader. :) my most successful one is the childhood best friends!au taeyong x female reader. it’s about to reach 600+ notes i guess? and im so grateful of all the feedbacks i got from it.

Who is your favorite person to write about? it’s jaehyun and hendery :)

Do you think there’s a difference between writing fanfiction vs. completely original prose? character wise, perhaps. since you already have a face value in fanfiction, but in an original prose, you would have to craft everything from 0.

What do you think makes a good story? a good story is something that doesn’t romanticize the bad things going on in the world. a good story is something that is emphatic to the hardships of others. a good story is something that gives comfort to those who are in the dark. a good story is something that boosts the hearts of the readers and makes them feel things!!

What is your writing process like? first, i think of a plot! (this happens oftentimes when im washing the dishes) when i have the plot, i think of the ending. when i have the ending, it’s time for me to device a fitting title. and the plot would develop from then on.

Would you ever repurpose a fic into a completely original story? i don’t think so… this is scary. since some people think of fanfics as delusional works from delusional authors. it’s kinda sad.

What tropes do you love, and what tropes can’t you stand? i love love love enemies-to-lovers trope!! one that i couldn’t stand and do my best to not read is probably… hmm… no, i love all tropes!! i just love e-t-l most!

How much would you say audience feedback/engagement means to you? it means a ton. since it could really boosts me up. heavy sigh. it’s the best thing when you write something— the feedbacks. even though it’s a simple reblog with the ‘#ATKSHSKSHSKAHAKSGAHGEGSJA’ or ‘#myfave’. i would smile like an idiot whenever i read it.

Do you think fanfic writers get unfairly judged? yes!! ugh, there’s this recent issue wherein stan twt called fanfic writers as freaks. and it broke my heart. i mean, most fanfic writers get inspirations from their idols and that shouldn’t be a bad thing. we aren’t delusionals as one might think. we are simply doing our craft.

Do you think art can be a medium for change? yes!! our country’s hero ‘jose rizal’ had somehow stirred the nationality of the people back in the old days because of his writings. i do believe that art changes things!! it has the ability to pierce the heart of the people.

Do you ever feel there are times when you’re writing for others, rather than yourself? yes. i feel this whenever im writing smut. i mean, let’s be real, your works would do better once you’ve included some steamy smut scenes in it. when i was writing my first fanfic after three years, i didn’t think that i’d ever include smut. but the fear of not getting feedbacks crept up in me, so i forced myself to write some sexy scenes. i know that’s like… weird. but i’m trying not to dwell on feedbacks any longer. and i also have decided not to write explicit smut anymore. honestly, i feel better now that i don’t force myself to do something that i think would please others rather than me.

Do you ever feel like people have misunderstood you or your writing at times? uhm, as far as i can remember, nope— still hasn’t felt that way. :)

Do your offline friends/loved ones know you write for Tumblr? yes!! my best friends irl knows about it. my sister knows. my parents are also aware of my passion in writing, and they do know that i write. but where and what, that remains obscured from them :D

What is one thing you wish you could tell your followers? that it’s okay to be vulnerable. it’s okay to make mistakes. it’s okay to fail sometimes. it’s okay to feel things. because like a good book, there is always a character development and you have the pen to write your own version of happy endings.

Do you have any advice for aspiring writers who might be too scared to put themselves out there? i’ve been there: the scared and conscious part. but one thing i would say is, you have to dare yourself!! you won’t know how your writing would have impacted so many lives and touch the hearts of people if you won’t grab your pen or your gadget and start your draft.

Are there any times when you regret joining Tumblr? nope, there aren’t. the community has been lovely to me ever since i started writing. :,)

Am I going to go looking through the books to answer this ask? No.

I used some scenes from the books in my reasoning for why D possibly has the personality disorder. The main reason it’s easier to site the show is because it’s more recently in my memory (because I want to wait and reread the books for when there’s an actual release date for WoW and not just speculation). The show also has other POV characters that don’t look at D through a Targ lense interacting with her.

D’s POV is very isolated so it’s easier for people to take her word as gospel for how things are going on when we can see some of the undertones of it all when we look things over.

D’s starch stance against slavery for instance translated into the show, but the show did focus on D making people work while not paying them save for food and some shelter (not actually money) and that some people wanted to sell themselves BACK into slavery and she was okay with it as long as she got a prophet out of it.

The rich woman whose house was turned into a brothel, who had a story very similar to D’s was denied the chance to get her home back. The boy whose father and brother were murdered and mother was raped was not given justice because the rapist and murderer was a part of D’s men. D could have sympathized with these people but that would be going against her “people” and siding with the old masters.

Letting that little girl get tortured in front of her father so he might confess to a crime he didn’t even commit because she needed justice.
