I don't think I've posted Oreo.
This is my Aunt's Buck Oreo.
He's a black otter dalmation mini rex. dad to Juno's babies.
My aunt grew up with rabbits but stopped. Most of my life she has only had one (until cousins grew bored).
But seeing my keeping of rabbits rekindled her and my grandads desire to breed rabbits. What started as buying a couple of yellow Dutch (bought day after I got my Amber) last year, has now turned into a Dutch trio in blacks and a blue, 2 old English cross does in Tri and blue spotted and a pair of black Tans. Then of course we have Oreo.
My grandad parents and Aunt have had a big love for old English and Dutch since childhood. They were given a pair of cross breed old English for free early this year.
But now came the problem of finding a buck, whereas the English spot was popular years back, it is very hard to get now.
I found them a breeder in what we thought was Leicester. Had the song and dance of booking. I had the epiphany that I could get a Tri mini rex on the way there (usually we went 20 miles, Luton was the farthest at 40 mins). But it turned out it was Lancashire not Leicester. For a Brit, a hour journey becoming 3 and a half was too much.
My aunt still agreed for me to get Bramble. But then wondered if the lady had a spotted buck for sale. She had Oreo.
Oreo is the stud buck for my Aunt's Cream (blue spot English spot cross) and my Juno (black mini rex doe). I benefitted a lot when I realised the orange at his nape meant he was otter based. I hope Juno will give an otter doe, since otter is dominant to black.
I named Oreo myself. Needing names, I named my Aunt's English cross Cookie and Cream (I also named her Dutch does Sugar and Spice). So why not give the black and white buck a cookie name too?
