Exactly 10 years ago today, the Solstice, was my last day in the office. I walked away from a 'successful' technology career to follow my calling, and now 99.9% of you reading this know me as a musician 🙂 My world is so different now from 10 years ago. With the pandemic, I've had to completely change the way I work again, to honor everyone's safety. It feels so good to share live music now, and the gratitude I get from you out there listening fills my heart. This is a challenging time, but we can learn and adapt. I've had to take my tour 1,000 miles from home to do shows outdoors, learn how to reach new audiences, change from doing big shows to doing little ones, etc. It's really difficult, but it's working. And the future is looking...great! It's the Solstice, folks. The sunlight begins to return now. I am super-optimistic about 2021! We can get through this challenge. Please continue to honor each other with social distancing and mask wearing! Let's care for one another and bring the positive changes needed in the world 💖!🙏 - Dixon

Make it Happen. This is a really strong statement, and is usually the flagship by dreamers believing that with their every shot, they can make their dreams come true. I also am a fan of it, in fact, it is my 2020 mantra.

On the flipside though, I realized over time that believing cannot make my dreams happen. Manifesting cannot make it happen. Hustling cannot make it happen. All those alone cannot make my dreams happen.

I realized that all these years I was just on the superficial side of feeling deserving of my dreams to happen.

I realized that, my dreams will happen only if I let things unfold.

Only if I let things happen.

Until I let myself.

Feel for the things that make my heart and soul full.

Go for the things I deeply want.

Put in the work day-in and day-out towards the life I always dreamed of.

I came to face that it's only me who's been the hindrance all along.

Only then can the universe conspire on everything I've always believed. Manifested. Hustled for.

Lastly, mantras are great for that pep talk to be given to oneself every moment for the rest of the year, but as I am in the midst of lettering this, I also realized that me alone cannot make anything come true. I need God. His Grace and His provision.

As in Isaiah 60:22, "When the time is right, I, the Lord, will make it happen."

5 years after this was first thought of, I'm finally allowing myself to share my heart through my art.

So on DeviantArt for the #ShareYourHeart challenge you had at some point to make a Valentine's day themed haiku. A bit longer than a haiku and in French (easier for me for Alexandrines) but worth it

L'amour est une sorte d'étalon sauvage,

Quelque fois il ne peut pas être capturé.

Mais d'autres fois si vous vous montrez assez sage,

Il sera longtemps voire toujours à vos côtés.

Or bien qu'il reste parfois fidèle toute une vie,

Un étalon peut se lasser ou s'échapper,

Parfois même pire profitant d'une étourderie

Pour de ses sabots cruellement vous écraser.

Les gens ont différentes sortes d'étalons,

Parfois à travers une seule même vie humaine.

Au dressage, un tel persite bien à dire non.

Un tel veut qu'une autre personne lui soit sienne.

Mais que le coeur de l'étalon ait votre mors,

Ou qu'il voie un autre cavalier en secret,

Vous ne pouvez nier ni d'en vouloir encore

Ni d'aimer un show hippique pour son attrait.

Happy Friday!!! Here is just a plain old traditional picture. I have to say, I truly miss the simplicity of taking pictures of the crystals in different lights with different textures and colors. Instagram has leaned heavily towards video.
