Dear diary,

In the land of dreams beyond the nexus point, I acquired the bike you showed me, after which I found what I can only assume to be an entrance to a subway station.

After encountering a red figure resembling a jellyfish and getting lost in a block-filled maze, I pinched myself and awoke to try a different door,

(and though I have forgotten the order) I have found an umbrella as well as a way of turning into a "frog".

As I treaded through the forest, (ignoring the second red-jellyfish-like-figure,) I found a long road with various "pillars", whom at first I assumed had eyes and lips, but on further inspection the "lips" where just distorted eyes, they seemed motionless, with the only action one did was gaze at me as I left.

I then encountered roadkill that turned me into a "streetlight."

Encountering a red thing that emerged from a hole in the ground, I found a large triclops in a cave, and an entrance to a pale-white land, with a figure resembling the top (nose-up) of a distorted human head, its ear being a doorway to yet more distorted pale figures,

at what I assume to be the end of this section, was a creature which vibrated something half resembling a wing and a jaw, amusingly though while in the "streetlight"-form, if I set my self to "red-light" the creatures vibration stopped.

I then discovered that if I try to wake up while in "streetlight"-form, that I am unable to as I have no arms to pinch myself with.

I then awoke and wrote of my adventures for the first time.

Now that the quality of Duolingo has fallen (even more) due to AI and people are more willing to make the jump here are just some alternative apps and what languages they have:

"I just want an identical experience to DL"

Busuu (Languages: Spanish, Japanese, French, English, German, Dutch, Italian, Portuguese, Chinese, Polish, Turkish, Russian, Arabic, Korean)

"I want a good audio-based app"

Language Transfer (Languages: French, Swahili, Italian, Greek, German, Turkish, Arabic, Spanish, English for Spanish Speakers)

"I want a good audio-based app and money's no object"

Pimsleur (Literally so many languages)

Glossika (Also a lot of languages, but minority languages are free)

*anecdote: I borrowed my brother's Japanese Pimsleur CD as a kid and I still remember how to say the weather is nice over a decade later. You can find the CDs at libraries and "other" places I'm sure.

Mango (Languages: So many and the endangered/Indigenous courses are free even if you don't have a library that has a partnership with Mango)
