The Huntsman Spider:
Yelena x FTM reader:
A/N: This is just the rough draft/word vomit I have of it so far! It would be another series too.
Reader is an ex widow from the red room, when Yelena and Natasha go looking for ex-widows they look for one in particular but they come up blank for the longest time. It isn’t until Natasha looks through different databases, and uses DNA to track her down, they get a match...but it’s a man, same age and same birthday…
Yelena and Natasha are confused and go look for him, when they see him his face looks exactly like hers but it’s older and has a beard covering it. He gets suspicious of the two of them after he notices them spying on him, the two of the widows watch him for months hoping to see the widow they came looking for but still come up blank. Yelena starts to theorize about why he looks so much like her and the two of them agree that he must be her twin brother. The widows all have some blood relatives out in the world and he must have been the one left by Dreykov. Yelena then sends out a message to Melina and informs her of their “discovery” and to inform all widows that might be able to track down the ex widow. The funny thing is that all of them end up in the same place watching the same man. Soon he begins to get more and more suspicious of the women around him and eventually he comes in contact with Yelena by pure accident when he was getting his mail one evening.
Yelena didn’t mean to run into him, she was just going to look through his mail for anything from the widow they were looking for, maybe she sent him a letter or package, she just had to be sure. She wasn’t planning on him to come and check the mail at 7pm on a friday night, she expected him to be out partying with friends or going on a date. Turns out he forgot to check in the morning and decided to grab his mail before heading to dinner with an old friend of his. When he found Yelena at his mail box he stopped for a moment and spoke up to her. She came up with a cover saying that she had gotten his mail by accident and when he questioned if she lived there she said she had just moved in. After talking with him briefly Yelena decided to try and get close to him to figure out just who he was exactly.
He was always on watch whenever a woman was around, he believed that most were widows and he seemed to be a little paranoid. When he found Yelena going through his mail he caught onto her lie within seconds and played pretend of a dumb guy. He started to catch her around his apartment more often, he didn’t believe for a second that she had just moved in considering her knew of everyone living in the building and within the first five block radius. He began to notice how she would be at the same coffee shop as him, the same gym and even the same bar. He became increasingly hyper aware of his surroundings at all times. Natasha and a few other widows had to scold Yelena into backing off of him, she didn’t want him to go to the police or notice that he was being watched. She agreed to back off of him.
She did this for about a month until she saw him leaving his building with a woman that she had never seen before. They were both dressed up and had smiles on their faces. The way the woman held his arm and stayed close created naughts in her stomach. She followed them and watched from a far but it wasn’t until she noticed that both of them were out of her sight that she turned around and he quickly appeared pinning her back to a wall/tree. He began to question her about what she was doing and why she keeps following him, she wouldn’t answer so he asked her again in russian which caught her attention. He told her to stay away from him and walked off. About a month later Natasha told all the widows to leave and to stay incontact if new information came up. Yelena decided to leave and go to avengers compound with Natasha for a while but unbenhonst to Natasha she was looking into him more and began to surveillance him again. Yelena was talking with bruce one day and found something he said to be very insightful, Yelena looked into his medical records and saw that they had only begun after a certain year, the year that the widow left the red room. Yelena went back to his home and waited for him, now she had the upper hand and wanted to know exactly who he was and how he was connected to her…

April Foolishness - Headcanons
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
Pairing (Not all at once): Wanda Maximoff x Fem!Reader, Natasha Romanoff x Fem!Reader, Yelena Belova x Fem!Reader, Kate Bishop x Fem!Reader
MINORS DNI - 18+
Summary: How would they react to you failing miserably- masterfully pranking them at every turn?
Tags: Fluff, established relationships, swearing, attempted pranking (mentions of bugs/arachnids, fish), innuendos and tension, comfort, light power usage, no actual smut (fade to black).
A/N: Happy silly day, ya'll!! I wanted to do something fun between classes, so this is it- april fools pranks on my favorite girls. Not proofread at all. Enjoy the boops!
Images are not mine, credit to owners! ~~~
Wanda x Reader
You hadn't been dating Wanda for very long.
Well, if you don't count the years of pining, that is.
You had hidden yourself behind a corner in her hallway, arms out and ready to spook.
This had been your same trick from Halloween (which between that and the turnips did not go well-)
But this time it’d go swimmingly.
After thirty minutes later, you heard the familiar clack of her heels against the compound’s floors, and…
Nothing. Silence.
You peeked around the corner to see where the witch had gone, and-
“Boo.”
Her warm grasp hugged your middle , yet you swear you jumped out of your skin.
“What the- Fuck, Wands-“ Your terror was met with her musical laughter, patting the the sides of your stomach.
“Well if you insist, sweetheart.”
Her voice echoed
She’d let go of you, and you could see the sparkling mirth in her eyes once you turned around.
She placed a quick peck on your cheek, looping your hand with hers to play with your fingers, gaze downcast at them even as her mischievous words would enter your head without her mouth moving.
“If you want to spook a mind reader, darling..”
You gulped as her touch grew more bold, pinning you against the wall- face warming as she’d tilt her head,
“You’ll have to do better than that.”
She’d chuckle at your flustered reaction, her grin cheshire as she’d lead you back to her room, giddy with sweet excitement.
“And happy April fools to you too, Wan-“
~~~ Natasha x Reader
Natasha had always managed to prank you first before you could prank her.
One year prior, you’d ended up with an egg in your hair while your whipped-cream pie prank had gone unsung.
And that was some really good whipped cream.
This year, though- you had buttered her up. Perks of being her partner- the pranks could go even harder.
“Good morning, my dearest sunshine-“ You’d murmur, settling her in with breakfast in bed.
Your trick? Salt in her coffee instead of sugar. Genius.
Natasha propped herself up on her arms, giving you an upturned eyebrow, “Oh, and what’s the occasion?”
“Oh, nothing much..” A shit eating grin plastered her face, one that would soon be returned by the redhead.
“Birthday? Anniversary..?” She’d poke at your side as you sat down, her touch ticklish as she helped you settle the tray of food on her bedsheets.
“M-mmn, nothin’, sugar..” Oh, how you’d be eating those words soon enough.
You’d watch as she’d take a sip from her coffee, eyes wide and sparkling as she opened her mouth-
And sighed in bliss.
What the fuck was wrong with this woman.
“Delicious, baby..” Natasha purred, taking another hardy swig, and you watched as she swallowed. “You’ve outdone yourself..”
“I…uh-“ Your babbling words would be cut short as you took a drink of your own mug-
And was met with intense, uncomfortable sodium.
She cackled as you spit your mouthful back into your cup, punching her jokingly with a red face, “You- you fuckin’-“
“Switched them?”
“Not just the brew-“ Your hand would’ve found your forehead in shock, “But the mugs too- how the shit did you do that?”
“A spy will never reveal her secrets-“ She’d lean up to kiss you, but instead would shift the platter over to the side. “And you need to wash your mouth out.”
“Not before I drink my coffee..” You’d hiss, chugging her now lukewarm mug down.
That was, until you saw a plastic totally real cockroach on the bottom of the mug, shrieking before chucking it against the wall.
“Love you too, dear.”
~~~ Yelena x Reader
You didn’t think Yelena could be scared of anything.
She threw a knife at the fake spider you pranked her with last year.
And she spat in the face of the ‘piranhas’ that had infested your room’s bathroom two years ago.
And even so, you tried again this year- although with something much less terrifying.
You'd flooded Yelena's room with multicolored balloons, painstakingly blowing them up before gently setting them on her floor.
And the best part?
She was asleep in her bed the whole time.
You had almost finished the second bag of balloons when Fanny, ever the sleepy Akita, finally stirred from their rest.
The pup locked eyes with you, and you were so thankful that they didn't bark.
That didn't stop Yelena from waking, though.
The blond would rise quickly, eyes darting around as soon as her dog moved an inch. You swear she had murder in her eyes, although that might've just been from awakening so quickly.
It all left her once she found you, though.
Groggily, she'd wipe at her eyes, mumbling something before kicking her foot off the bed to stand-
Bumping into a stray balloon.
She recoiled immediately, yowling as though she'd been pained deeply- and you were at her side in a heartbeat.
"Yelena, shit- you okay?"
"Yeah.." She'd gruff, her shoulders slacking once your hands found purchase on them. She'd hide her head in your shoulder, a surprising gesture.
You wrapped your arms around her, rubbing soothing circles into her back, "No need to be frightened, honey.." She'd hold you closer, and a flicker of thought ran through your mind, "Lena..are you scared?"
"What-? No-" She'd deny, her voice especially thick this early in the morn. "You just startled me-"
"That's a form of fear, hun-" Your chuckle was met with a groan from her, before she pulled her blankets back over the two of you.
Her words were muffled, "Fine, you got me- but now you hold me until I say so."
"My big, bad, scary Lena...of course, honey."
~~~ Kate x Reader
No matter what you pranked Kate with, she was always worried about you.
It's not unfounded, after you fell down the stairs during last year's April Fools, but still.
This time, you’d actually get her.
"Kate, made you some brownies!"
You heard her clamor with a fevrency that made her sound like a one man band.
She burst out of the hallway, expression wild with hunger and apprehension-
Until she saw you holding some kiddy scissors exceptionally sharp blades of murder and death and terror and-
“Babe!” She’d screech, barreling forth to snatch the scissors from your careful hands, placing them gently on the counter, before inspecting your palm for even the slightest scratch.
She hadn’t even noticed the brown construction paper, or the cut letter you’d pressed towards her middle.
“Kate, earth to Kate-“ Your smile towards her shook her from her thoughts, “I’m okay, pretty girl..Happy April Fools!”
Between the panic and the praise, her brain had to do a soft restart after that.
After a few more seconds, her goofy grin would return again, almost coy, “Gave me a heart attack there, you know-“
“I know,” You’d motion to the tin of hello kitty bandaids you’d raided from Tony, “And I was prepared, you doofus.”
She’d smile, nodding along until her face flushed- her hand rubbing smooth circles into your hip.
“But if you, you know- wanted to do some scissoring, as they say-“ You’d sigh, shaking your head with a teasing lilt, “You’re verryy smooth, dear.”
You’d press a boop to her nose, a teasing whisper, “I’ll think about it.”
Your legs were sore, you couldn't feel your arms anymore and you were gasping for air, but it wasn’t over until one of you was down.
“Can’t we take a break?” you whined out as you tried dodging Yelena’s fist but still made contact with your body and you groaned out in pain.
“Focus, Y/n,” Steve called out, before Yelena would punch again.
You knew she was holding back, measuring her strength, she always would when training with you. And you didn’t know if you found that reassuring or mocking. You kicked her in the stomach, but it still did not affect her, it was quite the opposite really.
“That’s all you got?”
“Why? Wanna try something else?” you teasingly said while winking at her.
You got her off guard, she wasn’t expecting your cocky self to show up while training, and seized the moment to swift her off her feet and got on top of her.
“Was this what you had in mind?”
Your hands quickly found her wrists while your body pressed into her abdomen pushing her down so she wouldn’t get out of your hold.
“Okay, I think it’s enough,” Steve called out, sensing you had gone off track.
Both you and Yelena knew that she could easily get out of your hold, but still it took her two minutes to do so. You didn’t want to let her go that easily, you felt your whole body burning just by the thought of her skin against yours, still you stood up and got on moving before the two of you could have a say on what just had happened.
That was how it always went with Yelena, one moment you had the courage to openly flirt with her and a second later you would run back to your dorm second guessing the whole interaction. You wanted to do more, each and every time, but she was so nonchalant about you flirting with her that you convinced yourself that it was just that, a flirty friendship.
And most of the time you were okay with it, playing dumb about your own feelings. But then shit like that would happen, you would brush her skin, or would make her laugh, or just look at her, and the thought of a friendship would fly out of your mind. That was why you would lock up in your room, trying to calm and persuade yourself to not let your stupid feelings get in the way.
And the same stupid thing would happen to Yelena, which you didn’t know about.
“You want to talk about it?” Yelena heard her sister's voice as she watched you heading out the training room.
“I wasn’t holding back, I swear.”
“Not about your punching,” she raised her brow at her little sister.
“There’s nothing to talk about,” Yelena shrugged it off as she grabbed her bottle of water and took a big sip.
“Lena, I know you,” Natasha took advantage of the fact that her sister was chugging down water. “I know we don’t do feelings, we don’t trust people. But that was the old us, that was the red room. We have to put that shitty part of our lives behind us for good.”
“And I have,” Yelena scoffed.
“Then why haven't you done something about it?” Yelena knew her sister meant you, she didn’t have to clarify. “At least, give it a go,” Natasha sighed. “If not for you, then for her.”
“She doesn’t—.”
“You never know, Lena. Neither will she, if you don’t tell her,” and with that Natasha left her sister to her own thoughts.
“Suka,” she mumbled under her breath, because Natasha was right. She was always right about everything, it was the power that came with being a big sister—her big sister—, and she hated it when she was right.
She knew she had to do something about it, about you. But the fear of rejection, of feeling unwanted felt too much to bear. She wasn’t going to open up her heart just for someone else to crush it. But maybe, just maybe she could trust you not to crush it.
[...]
Still, it was easier said than done. It took her a full week to finally come to the conclusion that she was, actually, madly in love with you. A week full of stress and anxiety because deep down she felt like she didn’t deserve to have these feelings towards you.
And now that she knew exactly how she felt about you, it fucking terrified her. So she did what she thought was best and put some space in between the two of you. The thought of you clouded her brain and it was starting to affect her line of work, and she couldn’t have that. Being part of the avengers gave her life meaning, and she was not going to let her stupid feelings ruin that for her. Even though she wanted to be close to you, and just melt into your arms.
Of course, her coldness didn’t go unnoticed by you. You were confused, though. It wasn’t like Yelena to just shut you out. Even though you wanted more than just a friendship out of her, you wanted to consider yourself a friend of hers and it hurt that she was just avoiding you.
You didn’t know what was going on, she just felt out of your reach. You asked her sister about it, she just told you to give her space and she would be okay, before muttering something under her breath and went on with her day. You asked Kate and she just completely avoided the topic and changed the subject.
The more she didn’t talk to you, not even glance at your direction, the more you felt like you had done something wrong, maybe she had found out about your feelings and now she was avoiding you because of them. She probably felt uncomfortable about them, she probably wanted nothing to do with you. And who were you to decide otherwise?
You talked to Steve, making sure to not have more training lessons with her, only to find out she had already asked the same thing. You knew it was stupid to feel as if your heart was breaking since you wanted the same thing, but it did feel like shattering to pieces. You just nodded, a tight smile finding its way to your lips and went to your room before shedding any tears.
This whole thing was bullshit. Yes, maybe she didn’t feel the same way you did about her. But the both of you were full grown-ups, you should be professional about it and act like nothing had happened. Because in reality it didn’t, not that you were aware of it. So you decided that you were going to give her a piece of your mind.
You searched for her throughout the entire building and finally found her in the training room. Of course she was there, you should have thought of coming there earlier.
For a trained assassin she didn’t notice your presence, too caught up in her own mind, focusing on her breathing and throwing punches at the boxing bag.
You cleared your throat. “Got a minute?”
She looked over her shoulder, finally acknowledging you there, and you swore you watched as her whole body just tensed up by the sound of your voice.
“I’m kinda busy right now,” she mumbled before throwing two more punches.
“It won’t take long,” you insisted, wanting to get this over with.
“Look, I really need to—.”
You cut her off. “I don’t know who told you or how you found out, but yes, it’s true, okay?” you finally got her attention. “I just thought you would be professional enough to not let this get in the way and pretend like nothing happened. Which is what I also wish for.”
“What are you talking about?”
“You avoiding me,” you quickly mumbled, a tint of concussion in your tone. “I get it, but let’s just put this behind us and act like propper adults.”
“No, I’m aware of that part,” she scoffed, embarrassed to admit to you what she had been up to. “What I mean is, what have I found out?”
Your brows furrowed. “About my… me… and you,” you gave yourself a second to think her words through. “Hold on a second, you don’t know?”
“What don’t I know?”
“You don’t,” you finally added two plus two and realised that Yelena had no recollection whatsoever about your feelings, but still something was off. “Why have you been avoiding me then?”
You watched her as her mouth opened and closed, searching for the right words.
“What did I ever do to you for you to completely avoid me, huh?”
“You did nothing, I just…”
“You just what?” you scoffed, now anger filling your tone. “You just decided it was fun to ignore me?”
“No! God, no.”
“Then what is it?!” the two of you were pretty much screaming at each other.
“Because I like you, damn it!” she finally confessed. “Is it so hard to see?”
Your eyes winded. “You like me? You have been avoiding me because you like me?”
“I know, not my brightest moment. But it's just that you… you just…” she gestured to her brain. “You’re just stuck here, and I can’t get you out. At first I was scared to admit my own feelings to myself,” she took a deep breath. “But then Tasha said something and it made me realise that there’s nothing wrong with having feelings. But then I had to admit to myself that I really fucking like you. And I just… I just got scared because you might not feel the same way, and you might just push me away,” another deep breath. “And I decided that I would push you away first… and so I did.”
“So you like me.”
“Yes,” her brows furrowed.  “Was that all you got?”
“I mean… it’s the part that matters most,” you grinned at her.
“What do you mean?”
“I really fucking like you too,” you said cupping her cheeks. “I thought you knew and that was why you were avoiding me. But now I get it, I make you nervous,” you said teasingly.
“I wouldn’t use that word…” you rolled your eyes before shutting her off with your lips, finally giving in and kissing her.
“I’ve been wanting to do that for a while now,” you whispered over her lips as you deepened the kiss.
Her lips were soft and rough, and they had some saltiness to them due to her being all sweaty. But you didn’t mind at all, in fact you really like it.
“Remember last time we were here?” you whispered in her ear, trailing a path of kiss down her jaw and neck.
“You mean… that time we last trained?” she sounded breathlessly and it sent a shiver down your whole body.
“If I remember correctly, which I know I do…” you gently bit her skin earning a hiss out of her lips. “You were on the grown and I was on top of you, remember?”
“Yes…” she said as her fingers ran through your hair.
“Want to pick up where we left it off?”
Summary: Yelena tries to find the balance between spending christmas with her girl and tracking down Clint Barton…
Warnings: none
Pairings: yelena belova x reader
wc: 1.7k
note: I know it’s not christmas but I love this fic and couldn’t really wait an entire year :)
-⧗-
A classic Christmas movie played quietly on the tv in the living room, as the two women sat on the couch, snacking on pretzels and chips. The sun had set, so the room was lit up in a multitude of colour coming from the festive lights strung up outside.
Y/n had her feet tucked underneath her as she curled up on the couch, leaning into the arm rest. Yelena was stretched out across the seat, her toes occasionally jabbing into Y/n's thigh if she wanted to annoy her. It was a chilled out kind of evening, one they both needed.
They both reached for the m&m's, their hands bumping, making them both blush. "This is nice" Y/n hummed, before throwing a handful of candy into her mouth. Yelena nodded in agreement.
"We should make Christmas cookies tomorrow. Or gingerbread?" Y/n asked, hoping to get a reaction from her girlfriend. But Yelena just shrugged, her eyes not moving from the tv screen.
Y/n furrowed her brow in concern. "Lena?" She asked, turning her body to face the blonde.
"Hm?" Yelena hummed in response.
"You ok baby?" Yelena still didn't turn around, but Y/n knew not to push. She looked deep in thought. "What's going on inside that gorgeous head of yours?"
"It's the first Christmas" Yelena whispered.
"Babe, we've been dating for 3 years. This is our 3rd Christmas together." Y/n laughed, trying to cover up the confusion she had over her girlfriends comment.
"It's the first Christmas without her" Yelena's voice wobbled dangerously and Y/n watched her jaw tense as she tried to keep the tears at bay.
A silence hung over the room, only broken by the quiet mumbling of voices coming from the tv. Y/n could see Yelena's throat bobbing up and down as she swallowed thickly, and she tried to figure out what to say next.
But she didn't say anything. Instead, Y/n climbed off the couch and knelt in front of her girlfriend, gently placing a hand on her knee.
"Hey, Lena, look at me."
Yelena turned her head to look at her, her eyes refusing to let the tears spill over.
"I know you miss her. It's ok to. But she's not fully gone." Yelena tilted her head in confusion. "She's in here. Always." Y/n placed her hand over Lena's heart, and the blonde placed her hand on top, giving it a light squeeze. "Why don't we go visit her on Christmas, yeah? You can put that gift, yeah I know you've got one in your closet, you can put it next to her. I'm sure she'll love it."
Yelena smiled a bit at Y/n's words, before pulling the smaller girl off the floor and into her lap for a hug. The pair sat in each other's arms, wrapped in the tightest hug.
"Why don't we finish this movie and then go snuggle in bed. And then we can paint each other's nails all festive!" Y/n suggested, and Yelena nodded.
Y/n stood up off her girlfriend's lap and made her way over to the fridge, pulling out 2 glass coke bottles. She placed them on the coffee table and Yelena instantly brought hers up to her mouth, shuddering at the cold bubbles. The pair clinked their bottles together, Yelena smiling at the sight.
"You 'cheers' your bottle how Nat used to. She always held the top and clinked the bottom. Though one time she was so rough she broke the top off my vodka. I made her buy me a new one though." Yelena's eyes lit up as she told the story and Y/n smiled, proud to see her girlfriend talking about happy memories of her sister.
Loud christmas music started up on the tv, making both girls jump. They pulled their focus back to the movie for a while, before Yelena spoke up again.
"Y/n/n?” Yelena whined.
"Yessssss??" Y/n mimicked the tone her girlfriend used.
"Stop it!" She giggled. "Can you braid my hair?"
"What's the magic word?" Y/n smirked.
"Cyka" Yelena joked, seeing Y/n raise an eyebrow.
"I think you'll find it's 'please'"
"Fine! Please... cyka"
"Oh you are this close" Y/n made a tiny gap with her fingers "to sleeping on the couch tonight." She huffed.
"Ok ok. Please baby. Please can you braid my hair?"
Y/n just rolled her eyes. "You know how to braid! Do it yourself."
Yelena crawled closer to her girlfriend. "Yeah but you do it better. Plus, I want you to do it how you did Nat's."
Y/n softly smiled at how vulnerable her love was being. Yelena was very rarely like this. "Ok. Come on. You can sit here." She patted the floor between her legs, on which Yelena instantly plopped herself down on.
Y/n grabbed the hair tie from the table and began sectioning Yelena's hair into 3 parts, intricately weaving them to create a dutch braid. Yelena kept stuffing her mouth with m&ms whilst Y/n moaned at her to keep still so the braid would be straight.
Y/n braided all the way down her head until she got to the top of Yelena's neck. "I'll braid a little bit more and then tie it off, because your hair is still wavy from today's braids and I think it looks cute."
As Y/n tied off the braid, Yelena reached her hand up to feel her new hairstyle, only to have her hand slapped away.
"Don't touch it! I'm not done yet." Y/n ordered, meaning Yelena just stuck her hand back into the bowl of candy, chewing loudly. Y/n rolled her eyes and started pulling the braid out to give it some volume. She also pulled at the hair on top of Yelena's head, to add volume to the front.
"Now you can touch it." She said, sinking back into the couch cushion.
Yelena jumped up and walked over to the mirror, turning her head to check out her hair. "I love it!" She turned back to Y/n, who was watching her with adoration in her eyes. "And I love you!" She ran over and tackled Y/n into a hug, planting kisses all over her face and neck. The pair connected their lips and Y/n rolled over to straddle Yelena, swiping her tongue across the girl's lower lip. Yelena moaned and opened her mouth, but they were interrupted by Yelena's phone buzzing.
She groaned, pushing Y/n off her lap and walking over to the table where it was on charge. Y/n watched her girlfriend's expression change from happiness to stone cold.
"Who is it?" Y/n asked.
Yelena continued to stare at her phone, before muttering "I need to go."
She stormed over to the cupboard and pulled out a black bag, emptying its contents onto the floor. Y/n's eyes never once left Yelena, confused as to what was happening.
The blonde assassin stripped out of her plaid pyjama pants and oversized sweatshirt, before slipping into her black suit, zipping it up all the way. Y/n eyes went widened in realisation.
"Lena.." Her voice was dangerously low.
"Don't, Y/n" Yelena warned as she strapped her widow bite cuffs onto her wrists.
"You found him, didn't you." She asked, afraid of the answer. She knew Nat would be heartbroken if she knew what her sister was doing, but Yelena wouldn't listen. She always stormed out whenever Y/n brought it up.
"Don't wait up for me." Yelena strapped her gun to her thigh and checked her grappling hook was secure in her belt, her back now completely towards Y/n. She knew if she looked towards her girlfriend, all she'd see is disappointment, so she chose not to.
"Lena please. It's Christmas..." No response. "You know Nat wouldn-"
"Don't say her name!" Yelena growled.
Y/n didn't say anything, only swallowing as she saw how tense Yelena was. She carefully got up off the couch and walked over to Yelena, who had picked up her head cover and goggles. She wrapped her arms around the assassin's waist, leaning her chin on her shoulder.
"Stay safe. Please. I cant lose you too." She whispered, her voice dangerously close to breaking. Yelena turned around and pressed a kiss on Y/n forehead, wrapped her muscular arms around her shoulders.
"I'll be ok. I'll be back before you know it. Go to sleep baby and I'll be there when you wake up." Y/n sighed, inhaling her girlfriend's scent one more time before they both broke away from the hug.
Y/n helped her put her head cover on, adjusting the goggles so they sat right on her face. She kissed Yelena once more on the cheek, before letting her walk out the door of the apartment.
After Yelena left, Y/n walked to the window on the opposite side of the room and watched the pavement as she saw Yelena walk out of the main door and onto the street. She followed her girl's figure until she turned a corner and disappeared from view.
Y/n took a shaky breath in as worry started to take over. Her hands shook slightly as she clasped them together, taking one last look out of the window before walking back into the living room.
She sunk onto the couch and placed her head in her hands, tears flowing down her cheeks. One hand made it's way to the necklace that hung around her neck, her fingers clutching onto the silver arrow charm.
"I'm sorry Nat" She whispered, before her voice broke into sobs.
The once festive apartment now had a darkness hanging over it, one that should not be associated with Christmas.
it´s kinda long, I´m sorry
..............................................................................................................................
The scent of macaroni and cheese wafted through Yelena's apartment, a thick blanket of comfort that wrapped itself around the kitchen. Yelena stirred the simmering pot, a relaxed grin tugging at her lips. She'd always been fond of the simple pleasures, cooking being one of them. But the sudden shrill of her phone disrupted the peaceful tranquility.
"Kate," she answered, recognition coloring her tone with a touch of warmth. The speakerphone echoed throughout the room as she returned her attention back to the stove.
"Hey Yelena," Kate's voice came through, a hint of excitement behind her usual cool composure. "Just wanted to let you know that Y/N just gave birth to a beautiful baby girl."
The spoon Yelena was stirring with clinked against the pot, the news sending a wave of delight through her. "That's wonderful! Are they both okay?"
"Both are fine and resting," Kate assured. "I'll swing by in a bit to fill you in on the details."
A silent laugh escaped Yelena, and she shook her head in bemusement. "Kate, you always sound like we're in some sort of spy novel."
A shared chuckle passed between them before Yelena's curiosity piqued. "So, the million-dollar question, who's the father? You've been incredibly cryptic about that."
There was a pause on the other end, Kate's hesitance almost palpable. "I promised Y/N I wouldn't tell anyone," she finally admitted.
"But, Kate," Yelena objected, her tone a mixture of surprise and a bit of hurt. "We're practically family."
The sound of a deep breath was heard over the speaker. "It's Natasha."
The name hung heavily in the air, a phantom weight that stilled Yelena's movements completely. For a few seconds, the only sound in the room was the gentle bubbling of the mac and cheese.
"Yelena?" Kate's voice was tinged with worry, breaking the silence.
Yelena shook herself out of her stupor. "Kate, I can't... I can't just not tell Natasha. That's not fair."
"You have to," Kate pleaded, a hint of desperation creeping into her voice. "I promised Y/N."
"I don't understand," Yelena admitted, her voice trembling slightly with the strain of it all. "Why wouldn't she want Natasha to know?"
Kate sighed audibly over the phone. "Because Natasha is Natasha, and Y/N doesn't want her child to grow up with someone who... who doesn't commit, you know?"
Behind Yelena, the front door of the apartment creaked open, and in the hallway, the silhouette of Natasha Romanoff froze, the remnants of their conversation drifting towards her, tugging the ground from beneath her feet.
"Yelena, you cannot tell her," Kate's plea echoed through the speakerphone again, the urgent tension of the request clinging to each syllable.
The stress bubbled up within Yelena, boiling over into exasperation. "But Natasha... Natasha could be a great mother, Kate."
"I don't disagree, Yelena," Kate admitted, her voice softening a little. "But this is Y/N's wish. She doesn't trust that Natasha will be there in the long run, not with her lifestyle."
That hit Yelena like a punch to the gut, and she couldn't help the sigh that escaped her lips. This was not a conversation she wanted to be a part of. Yet, here she was, stuck between the woman she loved and the sister she would do anything for.
"Kate, I..." Yelena's voice faltered for a moment before she gathered herself. "Okay. Fine. But only because I love you, Kate. This...this doesn't feel right."
She knew that this promise could strain her relationship with her sister, but Yelena also knew that she had to respect Y/N's decision. After all, it was Y/N's life, Y/N's child, and Y/N's secret to keep.
Meanwhile, Natasha was still frozen in the hallway, her mind racing to process everything she had overheard. The sting of reality hit her like a cold wave, taking her breath away. Y/N, the one woman who'd managed to sneak past her walls, the woman she had shared a single, reckless night with, had just given birth to their child.
And no one told her.
A sense of betrayal gnawed at her heart as she tried to grapple with the fact that Y/N, her own sister, and even Kate didn't trust her enough to be a part of her own child's life. It was a pain far deeper than any physical wound she'd ever endured.
The realization dawned on her that Y/N didn't just keep her in the dark; she didn't trust her enough to shine a light on their shared secret. That hurt more than anything, and Natasha was left standing in the dimly lit hallway, nursing a wound that would take more than time to heal.
Silently, Natasha picked up her keys from the small table near the entrance, the metallic jingle echoing ominously in the silence. She quietly slipped out the door, making sure to leave no trace of her presence. As she descended the staircase, her heart seemed to mirror the sinking feeling within her.
Her car, parked on the side street, offered refuge from the turmoil of her thoughts. She got in and made a snap decision to go grocery shopping, a task she'd planned to do later. The distraction was needed now.
As the cityscape passed by her car window, Natasha’s mind wandered back to Y/N. The multiple rejections stung, but she could handle that. She'd been through worse, after all. What she couldn't wrap her mind around was that one unforgettable night when the lines blurred between friendship and something more. The memories were hazy, coloured with the fog of alcohol, yet the feeling was unmistakable - a connection she hadn't felt before.
But when morning came, Y/N was back to keeping her distance, the wall between them rebuilt seemingly stronger than ever. And now, this revelation... it was all too much to take in at once.
Natasha squeezed the steering wheel, the leather creaking under her grip as she navigated through the city traffic. "I'd be a good mom," she muttered to herself, her voice a hollow echo in the confines of her car. "I’d be there for my kid."
Money wasn't an issue, she was fortunate in that regard. And love? She knew without a shadow of a doubt that she could and would love her child fiercely and unconditionally.
Natasha sighed, a long, drawn-out breath that spoke volumes of her turmoil. She couldn't fathom why others doubted her ability to be a good mother. Was her reputation that tarnished in their eyes?
She wished she could make them see that she was more than her past, that she was capable of loving and caring for a child, her child. But wishes, as Natasha knew all too well, were often far from reality.
And as she pulled into the Target parking lot, the reality of her situation settled heavily on her heart. Her world had changed in ways she could never have anticipated, and now she had to figure out how to navigate through this new reality, one where she was a mother, but not quite yet.
Natasha navigated the familiar aisles of Target, her usual efficiency replaced with a somber pace. Every shelf she passed seemed to hold a memento of Y/N, memories hidden within the mundane. The rich, dark chocolate Y/N preferred, the soft, oversized sweaters she loved to curl up in during colder months, the very specific brand of tea she swore by... each item pulled at Natasha’s heartstrings.
Without a second thought, Natasha picked up each one, letting her fingers trace over the packages as she placed them in her cart. It wasn't rational, she knew. But it felt like a silent ode to the woman who unknowingly held a part of her heart, and now, a part of her life in a way she never imagined.
As she reached the baby section, Natasha found herself frozen in her tracks. Rows upon rows of tiny clothes, baby bottles, soft plush toys, and an endless variety of baby essentials stretched out before her. Her gaze landed on a small teddy bear, its brown fur soft and welcoming.
She picked it up, her fingers running over the plush fabric as she examined it. Her heart clenched at the thought of her child, her and Y/N's child, holding this teddy bear, finding comfort in its softness the way she wished she could provide.
Biting her lower lip, a habit she indulged in when deep in thought, she made her decision. The teddy bear went into the cart, nestled between the chocolate and the sweater, a poignant symbol of the new reality she was coming to terms with.
Each item in her cart was a silent promise, a commitment to Y/N and their child. A promise that despite what others thought, she would prove herself worthy of being a part of her child's life. And maybe, just maybe, she could make Y/N see it too.
Much later that evening, Yelena and Kate found themselves navigating the sterile hospital corridors to visit Y/N once more. The glow of the evening sun filtered in through the hospital windows, casting long, warm shadows. Their steps were hushed, each tread careful, wanting to respect the silence in case Y/N was still asleep.
They reached Y/N's room, the door slightly ajar. With a cautious hand, Yelena gently pushed it open. The sight that greeted them made her heart stop.
There, cradled in Natasha's arms, was the baby. Natasha's face was soft, vulnerable, her green eyes shining with unshed tears as she gazed at the newborn in her arms. A gentle smile graced her lips as she murmured soft words to the baby, her posture protective, her aura radiating warmth and affection.
The scene was so tender, so intimate, that it took Yelena's breath away. She could not resist capturing this moment. She quickly pulled out her phone, and with a silent click, the moment was immortalized.
Kate glanced at Yelena and the phone in her hand, her eyes widening with a mixture of surprise and indignation. "Yelena!" she hissed, quickly pulling her girlfriend away from the scene. The glare she sent Yelena's way spoke volumes.
Yelena just grinned sheepishly at Kate, tucking her phone away with a shrug. "What? It was a cute picture."
Kate only shook her head, a sigh escaping her lips. "You're in so much trouble," she muttered, not really angry, but worried about the consequences of Yelena's impulsive act.
The room was filled with a hushed tranquility as Natasha held her daughter, a soft lullaby whispering through the silence. Natasha's heart swelled with emotions she couldn't put into words. The tiny bundle in her arms felt so right, so perfect that it made her heart ache.
"Hello, little one," she whispered, her voice barely audible, her gaze transfixed on the sleeping face of her daughter. "I'm Natasha. I'm your mom."
The baby let out a small gurgle, as if in recognition, her tiny hands reaching out and Natasha held her breath as she felt her finger being grabbed.
A tender smile stretched across her face, as she continued, "I want you to know, I love you so much already. You're my little girl, my beautiful miracle."
Her gaze flickered to the bag resting on the chair nearby, filled with the day's purchases from Target. "I got you something today," she said, her voice catching in her throat as she gestured toward the bag. "Your first teddy bear. It's soft and cuddly, just like you."
With that, she pressed a featherlight kiss on the baby's forehead before gently laying her back down in the crib. Her fingers traced the outline of the baby's face one last time, her heart aching at the thought of leaving. But she had to, she knew. For now, at least.
Her gaze lingered on Y/N, sleeping peacefully on the hospital bed, a mix of longing and regret shadowing her eyes. She wanted so much more, wanted to be a part of this new family she unknowingly created. Yet, she respected Y/N's decision, no matter how much it hurt.
With one last look at her daughter and the woman she loved, Natasha quietly exited the room, her heart heavy yet filled with an unspoken promise.
"I will be back," she whispered to the silent corridor, a vow hanging in the quiet air. "For both of you."
As Natasha navigated the labyrinth of city streets, the glow of her phone screen lit up the car's interior. A new message. From Yelena. She pulled over to the side of the road, her heart pounding in her chest. She wasn't sure what to expect.
Unlocking her phone, she opened the message. It was a photo. The picture filled her screen, and for a moment, Natasha could hardly breathe. It was her. Her and the baby. The soft light of the hospital room painted a warm, tender tableau of a mother and her child.
A small smile played at the corners of her mouth, her eyes welling up with emotions as she stared at the photograph. It was real. It was tangible. It was her – holding her daughter.
Without hesitation, she quickly set the picture as her background. Now, every time she'd unlock her phone, she'd be greeted with the image of her and her daughter. A constant reminder of what she now had in her life, and a promise of what she was willing to fight for.
With that, she took a deep breath, the simple act seeming to fill her with newfound determination. She put her phone away, her eyes lingering on the image a moment longer before she focused back on the road.
As she continued her drive home, her mind raced with thoughts, plans, and dreams, and her heart filled with a love she had only just begun to explore. And every time doubt crept into her mind, she would just glance at her phone screen, at the picture that held her world in its frame, and she would know that she was ready to face anything for the sake of her daughter and the woman she loved.
As you sit nervously in Yelena's luxurious office, your palms are sweaty and your heart racing, you can't help but feel a surge of anxiety pulsating through your veins. Today is the night of the grandest show, and you are waiting for your boss, Yelena, who is the ringmaster of the most magnificent circus in the whole country. Even though you have to put up with Yelena's severe attitude in order to fulfill your demanding duty as her assistant, it's an honor to be a part of her world. But today, she seems to be acting much more furiously.
The tension in the room is palpable, and you can't shake off the feeling that tonight's performance is more critical than any that came before. Yelena's office has a harsh professionalism that contrasts dramatically with the vibrant circus outside. Dark-colored walls, a finely polished wooden desk, and leather chairs create a refined and serious atmosphere. The few decorations that adorn the room are carefully selected and maintained. Instead of vivid colors, the office is dominated by shades of deep charcoal gray.
On the walls, there are a few framed photos displaying new costume ideas and sketches. These costume concepts, though they carry the potential for vibrant and dazzling displays, appear as muted pencil sketches, that she made herself.
The door to the office swings open, and Yelena enters, her vibrant costume and piercing gaze commanding the attention of the room. Her red and gold attire shimmers under the soft glow of the office lights, her face adorned with black make-up, her hair is slick back, and her overall look screams that she owns this place. And much more... she owns the people here too.
"Finally," she snaps, her voice as sharp, a growl, and you flinch at the acidic tone that cuts through the room.
Your racing heart threatens to betray your composure, but you hold your ground, offering a tentative smile. "I'm sorry, Yelena. I was just making sure everything was-"
She cuts you off with a wave of her hand. "No excuses, just be useful for once. The spotlight is on me tonight, and I will not tolerate any mistakes. Make sure the costumes are in order, the animals are ready, and the performers are sharp. We can't afford to falter."
Her words sting, and you swallow your pride, nodding obediently. Despite her harsh exterior, you understand that tonight means as much to her as it does to you. The circus is her kingdom, and she is the reigning queen. You cannot help but wonder if her anger is just a shield, a way to cope with the immense pressure she carries on her shoulders.
You´re in for a long night under Yelena's watchful, unrelenting eye, but it's all part of the mesmerizing, chaotic world of the circus. As the ringmaster departs for her preparations, you steal a glance at the eager audience beyond the office window, ready to be dazzled.
As Yelena gazes out of the office window onto the bustling circus grounds, her expression remains stern. Her crimson-gloved fingers drum impatiently on the window shelf. With a cool, calculating voice, she turns to you, and says, "The show starts in twenty minutes, and I see you've managed to mess up nearly everything, as usual."
Your heart sinks, and you find yourself on the receiving end of her relentless critique. It's not uncommon for Yelena to be demanding, but today, her tone cuts deeper, her words more vicious than ever.
She continues, "The costumes were wrinkled, the animals look dispirited, and the performers have that 'couldn't-care-less' attitude. It's no wonder I had to come and check on you, because you clearly can't be trusted to get anything right."
You struggle to hold back tears as her words strike like daggers. You have poured your heart and soul into ensuring that everything runs smoothly, but Yelena's critical remarks have the ability to destroy your self-confidence.
Her piercing gaze remains fixed on you, her face says it right away, no trace of empathy at all. "You're lucky you have a boss like me to catch your countless mistakes. If it weren't for my watchful eye, this circus would have fallen apart long ago. There's no room for error, especially not tonight. Do you understand?"
As you nod in silence, the weight of her criticism threatens to crush your spirit, but you know that, in this world, in Yelena´s world, perfection is the only standard. With trembling hands you put your fallen hair behind your ears, trying to regain your composure and make sure tonight's performance lives up to Yelena's exacting standards.
Yelena fixes her gaze on you, her eyes still piercing but with a faint glimmer of something resembling compassion. "You know, I could fire you right now if I wanted to," she says, her tone less venomous but still firm.
You nod quickly, unable to meet her eyes, "Yes, I know."
A hint of a cynical smile crosses her lips. "I'm being kinder to you than you deserve, you know," she continues.
Again, you nod, your voice barely above a whisper, "Yes, I know."
Yelena sighs, her frustration evident, but there is something in her eyes, that you don´t understand, yet. "You might be a mess, but you're my mess," she admits, almost grudgingly.
Your heart flutters with a mix of relief as you nod again, saying, "Yes, I know." You understand that, for all her harshness, you occupy a unique place in Yelena's world. In this chaotic, enigmatic circus, you're her right-hand, for better or for worse.
Yelena glances at the ornate clock on her office wall, a rare hint of anxiety crossing her features. "We have just 15 minutes before the show starts," she says, her tone monotone.
You dare to seize this fleeting opportunity. "Yelena," you begin hesitantly, "Can you please-"
She raises an eyebrow, clearly irritated but willing to listen for once. "Go on," she snaps.
You take a deep breath and finally ask the question that has been lingering in your mind for far too long. "Can I have... can you touch me?" You don´t dare to look into her eyes, “you´ve said that if I´ll be good for the next few weeks, you will let me-” you quickly stop yourself before saying the word, that felt so naughty to you.
 “Cum?” She smirks, but her composure still stays still.
You simply just nod.
“I didn´t say I will let you cum, I´ve said I will think about it,” she tilts her head. “And you think you did such a phenomenal job, that you deserve to be touched by me, let alone cum?” She chuckles.
“Yes, I do.” You mumble, but it was loud enough for Yelena to hear.
For a moment, Yelena seemed taken aback, as if your answer wasn't what she was expecting. But she likes you being more confident and direct. Then, with a reluctant nod, she agrees, "You have 13 minutes. Get on your knees,” she said it like it was such a bother to her, which it was in a way.
You instantly drop to your knees.
Yelena takes a step closer to you. In that moment, you glance down and notice something – a pair of classic Doc Martens boots on her feet, an elegant choice, they also look very new, so she must have bought them for tonight's occasion.
Yelena notices your gaze fixated on her boots and a sly idea takes root in her mind. She smirks and, maintaining her stern demeanor, she speaks, "You can get off on my shoe." Your eyes instantly meet hers. Before you can say anything, she adds, “12 minutes.”
“I-” you don´t even know what you want to say to her.
“Fine, if you don´t want it, then don´t waste my time.” Yelena turns away, ready to walk out of her office.
“Wait!” She can feel that you crawl on the floor to grip her leg.
Yelena just looks down and stops in her tracks, “I´m waiting, but the people are not.” She sighs, “11 minutes.” she once again checks the clock.
As for Yelena´s request, months ago, you stopped wearing panties, first it was just around or in the office rule, but now it´s been almost four months since you´ve seen your panties.
You simply raise your skirt and get to work. Being wet around Yelena was basically your main task as her assistant, so none of you are surprised when her new shoe is already covered with your juices. You also didn´t want to waste any more time as you knew very well, she would kick you off of her and leave you there without zero pity.
So you had to do it quickly, it was a week without her touch and even more time without you being able to cum. Yelena is saying “cumming is too distracting, when you need perfection.” And of course, her little stupid toy can´t do more than one thing at the same time.
“9 minutes.” Yelena says with something that sounds like disgust in her voice.
Your hips speed up at her words and your nails digs into her calf, which she wont admit aloud, but she is enjoying this moment a lot. To have power over someone's life was on her daily basis, but it is different with you. She knew you would do anything for her, even if it meant it would hurt you.
Many times, she wanted to direct her emotions on something, especially her rage and that was a moment where you´ve volunteered and she knew right away, she's going to keep you as her little stupid punching bag, that she will occasionally award with little touch or maybe an orgasm, when you would behave.
“7 minutes.”
You know you have permission to release, but you still want to show her how good you can be. “P-please, may I cum?” you let out soft whimpers.
“Are you that stupid? Do you want me to write a blessing?” She aggressively moved her shoe up and down, and because Yelena was really strong and her thighs could kill people, it wasn’t hard to lift you up.
“S-sorry...” you whine out loud this time.
“Did I tell you to speak?” Her gaze met yours and you immediately look away, bitting your lower lip to stay quiet as possible.
You continue of rocking your hips, feeling how your clit is getting more sensitive, as her shoe is the perfect material for you to hump.
“4 minutes.” And with Yelena´s words, you come. Your juices being everywhere, on her shoe, on her pants, on your skirt, on the extremely expensive carpet, just everywhere.
Yelena looks down on the mess you´ve made and with a big sight she says, "Your incompetence is almost a talent in itself." She moves her feet, and you fall as you´re not even fully back from your strong orgasm.
“3 minutes.” She is still counting down. But to what? You´ve already came. "Is it too much to ask for a shred of intelligence from you? Apparently, it is." She moves her feet in the air, hoping you will finally get it.
Still nothing.
Her patience fading, observes the mess you have made and finally mutters, "The shoe won't clean it itself, you know. Or perhaps you were expecting a miracle?" Her tone, as always, laced with disdain and a hint of mockery, serves as a reminder that in her world, only immediate action and perfection are acceptable.
Oh.
You quickly lower yourself as you know that you do not have much time, so you open your mouth and your tongue kitten licks her shoe clean, at least you are trying to. Tasting the mixture of yourself and the leather bring you shivers right to your pussy, as you would want to cum again and again and again-
“1 minute.” Yelena put her foot in the air, for you to clean even the bottom of her shoe. Now tasting only plastic rubber, which wasn´t the most tasteful thing, but your only wish right now is to do a decent job for Yelena and her satisfaction.
“Get off.” She put her foot down and inspects your work.
Yelena inspects the work you've completed, and after a long pause, she remarks, "Well, it's not a bad job. I might be a little impressed."
Your eyes light up with excitement, and you ask, "Really?"
Yelena smirks and adds with a hint of sarcasm, "Oh, don't get too carried away. I did say 'a little,' after all. We wouldn't want you to think you've achieved mastery, now would we?"
Coming from Yelena herself, not on paper, but in person, this is a compliment.
 Yelena continues, "Next time, I expect you will do without being told what to do, a concept known as 'initiative,' in case you're unfamiliar."
She smirks, "But then again, I wouldn't want to deprive you of the joy of my guidance, would I?"
Yelena turns to leave, her Doc Martens shoes thudding against the floor with an air of firm authority. She strides toward the circus arena, ready to show the world once more, who the true master of the show is.
Ahhh so what do we think?
Also thank youuu for reading!! 💕💕
AC: Thank you for requesting this, I love this little AU!! This takes place shortly after Natalia is born, I hope you enjoy this x
Tumblr media
Since the birth of your daughter, Natalia, things have been different. A whole new chapter had started and even so, you knew that when Yelena got that call to go back to help fight the war, that was a part of your new life regardless. Yelena had originally been given a little over 12 months off from her duties to be with you and your daughter, to help and be there for the firsts but you knew the moment she told you they needed her, she was going. You didn't hold it against her, you knew what it was like to be needed at such a time.
Yelena returned just after Natalia turned 6 months. She didn't talk about the war this time, unlike every other time when she'd come home, she'd tell you things because she knew you understood. At first you thought she didn't want to talk about it because she was busy soaking up the shortly lost time with Natalia and you found her by her side at every second she got.
The emptiness of your bed woke you as you rolled over, reaching for Yelena who wasn't there. Recently, this wasn't a surprise to you. Your first thought was maybe little Nat woke up and Yelena wanted you to sleep so she got up to tend to the 6 month old but when you peeped your head into your daughters room and saw her peacefully asleep and Yelena not in sight, your worry grew. Walking down the stairs the kitchen light was on, the first thing you saw as you walked around the corner was Gizmo laying at Yelena's feet.
"Honey, it's basically 3am" you spoke softly as you came up behind her. The sight of a half empty bottle of vodka while a photograph and letter beside it instantly told you something was wrong.
"Sorry, I couldn't sleep" your wife replied with almost no emotion in her tone.
Softly, you wrapped your arms around her shoulders and kissed her cheek with love before you sat down on the stool beside her at the kitchen island. She didn't react, not even to turn slightly to face you.
"Honey, what happened?" You asked, not beating around the bush.
Yelena downed another shot of vodka, shaking her head. "You have enough on your plate with Natalia and work, you don't need this" her reply made you frown, your concern for her growing with every word. You placed your hand on top of hers, your thumb gently rubbing her knuckles. "Baby, can you please look at me?" You asked.
The moment of silence felt like it went on forever before your eyes were met with your wife's. She'd been crying, heavily. The streams down her face broke your heart, you knew it wasn't good. Yelena took a deep breath in before finally breaking the silence. "I can't get her out of my head" she admits.
"Get who out of your head honey?"
"Lee" she replied as more tears filled her eyes, "We were in gun fire, she pushed me so hard out of the way and I wasn't sure why, I thought m-maybe I missed a target but then it happened" she froze, her tears falling free as you listened, still stroking her knuckles for comfort. "I looked up and she was running, I yelled at to stop b-but s-she…it was too late…an explosion happened, her screams were so loud…I cleared out who I could before getting her to safety. She clung onto me like glue, her right leg was gone…her face…I knew I had to get her out for there" she stopped and poured herself another shot, downing it instantly.
You didn't say a word, you just sat and listened, no matter how long it took her to explain. "I got her to medical and the look they gave me, it's like they didn't even want to try…Lee begged me to stay, so I did…she died 20 minutes after I got her to medical…she saved my life and I couldn't save her" she added, breaking down completely. You couldn't help but cry with her, pulling her into your arms. Gizmo not moving an inch as you did your best to comfort your wife.
"Honey, you did everything right. You got her to safety, you got her to medical, there wasn't anything else you could've done darling" you assured her, rubbing her back as she cried in your arms.
Your eyes looked to the image next to the bottle of vodka, it as Yelena's team, it broke you even more.
After a while, Yelena pulled away. "They're bringing her body home tomorrow, I'm sorry I didn't tell you when I got home last week. Seeing you and Natalia, I just, I just wanted to be here in the now. But I can't, I can't sleep. All I see is the blood, all I fear is her screams and horror in her eyes then my mind wonders to what if that was me? W-what if I was the one coming home in a coffin tomorrow?"
"Hey, honey, you know better than I do, we can't think like that. You're still here, Natalia still has her mama and I still the woman I fell in love with. But you need time to heal from this, you're running yourself down. I know you're doing everything to avoid dealing with this" you spoke, her cupped face in your hands as you wiped her tears.
Yelena shook her head once more, "I'll be fine" she replied, "I have the funeral next week then I've gotta get the first flight out" she adds. You were aware of her plan to return so soon; it took you back a moment but you didn't mention it. Instead, you suggested trying to get some sleep, both of you knowing it's only a matter of hours before Natalia would wake up and sleep would no longer be an option.
——
The following morning, Yelena had already left before breakfast, leaving you a note saying she'd be back tonight and that she was going to visit Lee's family. You got up, gave Natalia breakfast before giving her a bath and making your way to Natasha's house. If anybody was going to be able to help you, it was Natasha.
"This is a surprise! Good morning" Wanda answered the door, her eyes lighting up at Natalia on your hip. "We're so sorry to come unannounced, is Nat in?" You smiled softly to keep the woman from any worry.
"Don't stress lovely, give me the little angel" Wanda smiled, opening her arms for Natalia, "Nat's just in the shower, come in" she added as she took Natalia from your arms. You stepped foot inside, Wanda closing the door behind you before making her way to the kitchen with your daughter on her hip. "You're getting so big!" she smiled once more.
"I wish she'd stop growing, just for a moment" you replied with a light chuckle as you watched Wanda single handedly grab three mugs. "I wish my boys were still this little" she joked.
"I thought I heard voices" Natasha entered the kitchen but one look at you and she knew exactly why you were here. She wandered over to Wanda and placed a kiss on Natalia's forehead, "Can you watch her? we need to talk" she whispered to her wife who nodded. Wanda took Natalia into the playroom that the boys used as a bombshell for their toys.
"How is she?" Natasha asked after the two of you sat down at the dining table. You shook your head, "she's not good. I'm worried, one of her friends died. She's not sleeping, barely eating, she's startled so quickly, and I know she's trying to keep it together for our sake but I've never seen like this before" you explained, fighting back your own tears of worry. Natasha comforted you, placing her hand on top of yours as she nodded at your words.
"She's been texting me at night and told me everything, I've suggested therapy, but I think she's worried about you seeing her as weak"
Your brows frowned instantly at Natasha's words, "see her as weak? Where did she get that idea from?" you asked.
"She's a soldier. She never wants anybody around her to think she can't handle the job, she's always been like that" Nat explained, "I called around and found a few therapist that I think would be good for her, I'll write them down for you" she adds.
You nodded slightly, "would it be okay if you and Wanda watched Natalia tonight?" you asked, knowing you needed some time with your wife. "Of course, you know we'll have her any time" Nat smiled softly, "do you want to help you talk to Yelena?" She asked. You shook your head but smiled kindly at your sister in law, "I'll keep you posted, but for now, I'll go home and get Natalia some things"
——
Yelena came home just before dinner, you'd ordered pizza to keep things relaxing. You were pouring yourself a drink when you felt Yelena's arms wrap around your waist from behind, pulling you closer with a kiss on your cheek. "Nat down already?" She asked. You could hear how exhausted she was before you turned in her arms to face her, the dark circles under her eyes only grew bigger every time you looked at her. She'd been crying, the puffiness in her eyes gave it away.
"No, she's at yours sisters tonight. I thought you could do with an uninterrupted sleep" you smiled softly, keeping things normal even though your worry and concern for your wife was growing by the second. "How was seeing Lee's family?" You asked, already knowing the answer.
"Hard, but it was lovely. The funeral is next week" she replied, keeping you in her arms. "I need a shower, meet you in bed?" She added before kissing you softly.
"Without dinner?" You questioned.
"Oh, I got some food on the way home, sorry baby, I should've texted"
"No, no, it's okay, more to eat later on" you replied with a soft smile before watching her wander out of the kitchen.
The house was silent, a silence the two of you hadn't heard in a while, it nice but you both agreed that it was always strange when Natalia wasn't home. "You spoke to Natasha, didn't you?" Yelena asked after you got comfortable snuggled into her, her arm wrapped around you drawing shapes with her fingertip on your arm. You nodded slowly, "are you upset?" you asked, worried.
"No, love, I thought you"
"I'm just worried baby and I think Nat is right, therapy sounds like a good idea" you looked up at her, "I'll come with you, I'll be there holding your hand every step of the way and don't dare think for a second that you're weak because you, my love" you paused for a moment, bringing your hand to her cheek, stroking her skin gently, "you're the strongest person I've ever met and it's okay to ask for help. You've seen so much, thing I can't even begin to imagine, and you somehow have this power to push that aside, but I think now you've pushed too much aside and it's spilling out" you went on.
A soft sigh left Yelena as she knew you and Natasha were right, she just didn't want you thinking anything less of her. "Did Natasha give you those numbers for some therapists?" the blonde asked, you nodded, "good, we'll call some tomorrow and see when I can get in" she replied with a soft smile. You kissed her softly, "I'm proud of you baby" you whispered softly.
----
It's been two months since Yelena started therapy and you were beyond proud of her and how far she's come since starting. It was Tommy and Billie's birthday in the coming days and Wanda asked if you'd come shopping for supplies with her while Natasha was busy at work and Yelena was more than happy to watch over Natalia.
Unlocking the door to your home you were met with the sight of Natalia in her playpen asleep with one of her blocks still in her hand. Both you and Yelena learnt rather quickly not to move the sleeping baby, ever! You wandered over to her and carefully and ever so slowly moved her to the small cushions and covered her with her blanket. As you turned, you saw Yelena passed out asleep. You smiled softly to yourself before placing a kiss on her forehead, she didn't move a muscle and you knew she was finally getting the rest she needed.
You were tired.
Tired of your job.
Tired of the big city.
Tired of not being enough.
Tired of liv-... well, everything.
You missed when you didn't feel this way, but times change. You guessed you missed the time to change, too.
So, as you logged another book into the computer for your boss Agatha, you briefly wondered what to have for dinner.
If you even felt like eating by the time you got home...
The bell ringing above the door broke you out of your thoughts. You looked up to see blonde braids surf past a bookshelf and to you.
That's when you saw her face.
Bright green eyes, small pink lips, and bushy eyebrows. Slightly chubby cheeks were a bonus to see. "Hello!" She said in a heavy accented voice as her body hit the counter. "I'm looking for a book about New York City!"
You looked at her like she was joking, but after a moment of her just staring at you, you realized she was not. "Oh." You said. "Umm, you're in the city now... but what kind of book are you looking for?" You asked.
The woman thought before it looked like she got an idea. "Any books on restaurants or parks!?" You nodded and started typing into your computer. "Let me just make sure we have any."
You knew you did.
"Okay." She said as she craned her neck to see what you were doing. "That's a lot of books." She commented when you clicked the page. You looked at her. "Yeah... you're looking for a book about the millions of restaurants in this city."
You didn't mean to sound rude, but as the words left your mouth, you knew exactly how you sounded.
The blonde took a step back with her mouth dropped. "Jeez, I hope everyone isn't as rude as you!" Her voice sounded like you actually hurt her feelings. "I'm sorry!" You started apologizing as the blonde frowned. "I didn't mean it that way!" You went to talk more, but you were cut off.
"What way did you mean it then!" She looked pitiful. You sighed and collected your thoughts. "I mean... New Yorks a big place..." She nodded. "I know that." She said. "And as opposed to looking at hundreds of books about the restaurants and parks that'll be way too crowded or too expensive, the best way to experience it all is by just going out, walking in the city. Taking the subway to the Upper West Side or even Brooklyn. That's a way to get the best kind of food."
The blonde was hanging on your every word as you spoke about the city you used to find passion in.
"Plus, I'm sure you'll have a great time." You added before your smile faded. But the blonde saw it. She took a closer step to the counter. "Okay." She said.
"Okay?" You asked.
"Show me." The blonde smiled and rested her arms on the counter before you. "Take me around the city."
"Uhh, I- what?" Did she say what you thought she said?
"I want you to take me around the city." She said without an ounce of a joke hidden in her words. Leaving you lost to find any. "I-I can't do that.." You said, causing the woman across from you to tilt her head. "I'm working, and I- I don't even know you."
The blonde made a flat smile with her lips before extending her hand. "Well, hi, I'm Yelena. Yelena Belova." She waited for you to take it until you did. Cautiously. "I'm Y/N Y/L/N." You shook her hand and took note of the black fingernail polish she was wearing.
"There, now we know each other. How much longer do you have to work?" Yelena whined as her hands dropped back onto the counter.
You peered over to the computer and looked at the upper right corner of the screen. "It still have over an hour, but-" Yelena groaned. "Fine. Give me a book, and I'll wait."
As Yelena looked at you with her pretty green eyes, you couldn't find the words to say that you couldn't do it.
Your mind was blank.
"You're really serious, huh?" You asked, making Yelena scoff. "Of course."
Another second passed between the two of you before you nodded and pointed Yelena in the direction of some sapphic novels you loved to kill her time.
As you watched her walk away, you found yourself looking down her backside to her ripped jeans and black boots.
Once she disappeared down an aisle, you were alone again with your thoughts. But this time, all you could think was, "What did I just agree to?"
_
Once Yelena sat down in a chair made for little kids, she began reading a book from the selection you pointed to earlier.
Yelena quickly found herself swept up in the details of a woman returning to her hometown for a job only to discover that her former rival was now her new boss.
It was cheesy and short, but Yelena couldn't get enough.
Except for when she did stop reading to look up and see you still working from time to time.
Yelena took notice of the things you did. How you acted. How often you pushed your hair back behind your ears. She quickly liked you and was in dire need of someone new. A friend, so to say. But she could tell you were somewhat guarded.
Troubled wasn't the correct word, but Yelena could see it.
It was quiet the last hour you worked. No other Yelena's came in. Leaving you to finish up logging the stack Agatha wanted done. And yet. Every so often, your eyes drifted back to the blonde in the green froggy chair. Her eyes were glued to the words she was reading, and you couldn't help but smile at how she bit her lip as she concentrated.
But who was she?
You pulled your gaze away and again tried to think of an excuse to get yourself out of what the rest of the night would bring, but you couldn't.
It was almost like your heart was on its last line. Giving you nothing so you'd jump headfirst into this opportunity.
It wanted you to keep going.
"Alright!" Agatha came out from her office in the back. Walking straight past Yelena. "Closing time, hon!" She said to you as she grabbed the stack of books and moved them elsewhere.
Yelena got up from her spot, pushed the froggy chair in, and started walking towards the two of you.
"So, any plans for the next two days?" Agatha always asked the same question, even if you both knew the answer. Except this time, when you went to answer, Yelena spoke for you. "Actually-"
"Oh my God!" Agatha screamed and turned around with her hand over her heart. "Where did you come from!?" Agatha exclaimed as she came down from her fright.
Yelena proceeded to look from her to you and back to the kids corner. "From over there." She pointed. "I was just reading." She held up a book you were very familiar with.
Agatha, of course, took notice of that.
"Ah, looks like you picked up one of Y/N's guilty pleasures." Yelena looked at you. "Really?!" She asked you as you still stood behind the counter. "Uhh yeah." You answered honestly.
Yelena smiled wide enough that her dimples showed, and you felt something in your stomach that you had not felt in a very, very long time.
"Well, I'd like to get it." Agatha quickly wrapped an arm around Yelena and pulled her to the counter. Yelena, not looking too happy about this, let it happen. "Oh, of course, dear!" Agatha said, taking the book from her hand and into yours. "Y/N could also probably show you a lot more that she loves."
You picked up on Agatha's secret message.
Yelena did not.
"Actually, Y/N is showing me all around the city tonight!" Yelena smiled with glee.
Meanwhile, Agatha turned her head to you with a grin. "Is she now?" She asked a clueless Yelena. "Yep," Yelena said as she went to pay for the book, but Agatha stopped her. "Oh, here, take it!" She put the book into a bag and quickly gave it to Yelena. "A friend of Y/N's is a friend of mine. Especially a special one like you." She not so slyly said as you clocked out and grabbed your bag from the floor.
"Oh, thank you!" Yelena seemed genuinely grateful for the book and watched as you came around the counter.
Yelena's eyes quickly scanned your black vans and high-waisted jeans. Traveling up, she could see the entire band t-shirt underneath the open brown jacket you just threw on.
When Yelena's eyes met yours, you both smiled.
"Okay, well, you two, be safe and have fun!" Agatha said as she practically shoved the two of you out the door. "Wear protection." She whispered into your ear before closing the door and locking it.
You rubbed your ear and did your best to forget about her joke; all the while, Yelena just looked at you as you both started walking.
"So where to first!"
"Are you sure you want to do this?" You asked, confusing Yelena. "Well, of course. Do you not? You agreed, remember?" She said, making you nod. "Yes, I know it's just..."
"It's just what?" Yelena asked as you stopped walking and faced her.
"It's just we don't know each other." Yelena rolled her eyes and started walking away, knowing you'd follow. And you did. "Y/N Y/L/N, we already went over this. We shook hands. We know each other now. Okay?" She turned her head. "Now get we just hang out and be friends."
You stopped dead in your tracks.
Hang out and be friends.
That sounded wonderful.
You smiled. Like a real smile. And started walking again. "Yeah. You're right. That sounds good."
"Of course I'm right," Yelena responded, making you laugh. She laughed too because she was surprised by your laugh.
You two continued your walk in silence. The only thing breaking it up was the plastic bag with her book hitting Yelena's leg every once in a while.
"Here."
"No, it's mine." She pulled the bag away from you.
"Yes, I know that. I was going to put it in my bag so you're not carrying it the whole time." You explained. Yelena just looked at you and extended her hand with the handle of the bag wrapped around her palm. "Sorry." She said.
"You don't need to apologize." You said in a softer tone as you took the bag. "I just... I didn't want your arms to get tired."
Yelena watched you push your hair behind your ears for what must've been the hundredth time that night.
"I'm sorry if this is rude..." You started as you and Yelena turned down a new block. "But where are you from originally?" You grabbed onto the straps of your book bag and waited for Yelena's answer. "Russia." She said.
Ah. That made sense.
"How long did you live there?"
Yelena thought about her answer. "We lived there when I was a kid, then came to America before going back. What about you?" She asked, not wanting to talk more about it.
"All over the United States. My dad moved us around a lot." You remember your childhood, and not many happy moments come to mind. "Do you like it here?" She asked, gesturing to the city as you passed by a fat rat eating a pizza.
"Sometimes." You said and quickly moved on. "What about you? Is it your first time here? I mean, I assume so, but..." You trailed off as Yelena started to talk. "I've been here a couple of times. But it's always been for meetings for work, so I never got to explore and stuff." Yelena said, and you watched the way her eyes danced across the sky and the bright lights of skyscrapers getting closer and closer. "But this time, I don't have work. My sister was planning on taking me around, but she ended up being busy."
That was new info. "Oh, you have a sister!? Older or younger?"
"Older," Yelena said. "Her name's Natasha. She lives not far from your shop."
You made a note of that. "Oh, cool! Do you think she's ever been by the shop?" You asked, wondering if you had seen someone that looked like Yelena before.
But you think you would have remembered if you had.
Yelena shakes her head. "Probably not." You looked from Yelena's side profile to the sidewalk before looking back. You loved her earrings. Slowly, your eyes moved from the earrings to her neck. You watched the way her skin disappeared under her top. "She just got a girlfriend," Yelena said, breaking you from your thoughts. "So I thought I'd explore the city by myself..." Yelena's eyes meet yours. "Until I met you."
There it was again. That long dormant feeling in your stomach being broken by a fluttering.
"It hasn't been bad so far." She then added, making you smile. "Thanks." You shook your head and looked up at the street signs, figuring out the best place to go, when Yelena ran ahead of you to the other side of the street—not paying attention to the street lights or cars that slammed on their breaks.
"I want one!" She yelled back to you, making you realize what she ran to.
A pretzel cart.
"At least it's not a hot dog cart," you thought as you quickly ran to her. Sending a flat smile to the angry cab driver, Yelena pissed off. "Here." Yelena handed you a hot pretzel before taking the cups of mustard and cheese. "It smells so good!" She said as you two said bye to the man pedaling the cart.
And without warning, Yelena bit into the pretzel still in your hand. Luckily, she wasn't anywhere near your finger. "Oh, my gofh." Her words muffled by the pretzel. "If ho goof!" You nodded to her and smiled as pieces of salt fell from her lips.
Yelena took your eyes off of her lips by pushing the pretzel up closer to your mouth.
You couldn't remember the last time you had a hot pretzel or one from a cart on the street. But one look to Yelena and her big eyes made you cave.
You loved it.
"Good, right?!" Yelena said after she swallowed but not before tearing another piece to dip into the cheese sauce. You nodded. "Bery goof!"
Yelena laughed as her body brushed up against yours, as the two of you found yourselves passing by a group of teens making music from buckets and their own mouths.
As you watched with a group of other people, Yelena stole glances to you like she had at the bookstore. She found something new every time she looked your way. Her favorite discovery was two moles on the left side of your neck.
She smiled as she thought about drawing a curved line underneath them to make a smile.
Because that's another thing Yelena discovered.
She liked seeing you smile.
She was glad she met you tonight.
Moments like these blossomed as you took Yelena into Times Square. She made you take her to an American coffee shop, aka Dunkin, before you took pictures of her in front of the giant screens and crazy stores that lined the streets.
And when you weren't looking, she made sure to take some of you.
For you.
If you wanted!
Regardless, you took her to the financial district and then to a place where the noise of the city seemed to stop, past the memorial and to the tip of New York.
"What do you mean it doesn't light up?" Yelena tilted her head before looking back to the Statue of Liberty. You laughed as Yelena shook her head. "She has a torch! It should light up!" You didn't say anything but laugh because, honestly, you agreed with her. How cool would it be if the torch was on fire?! "Still cool, though," Yelena said before turning around.
After that, Yelena and you found yourselves at a bar you've never been to after exiting the subway at a random stop.
What turned into you showing Yelena around turned into a random exploration of the city.
Something you would normally advise against, but you were having fun and smiling more in a couple of hours than you had in a long time.
To Yelena, she was having a blast and didn't want the night to end.
So, drink after drink and shot after shot, you and Yelena danced to whatever the DJ played and ate greasy New York Pizza while watching guys shoot their shot and miss horribly from the comfort of a booth.
"Oh, it's my Sestra!" Yelena picked up the phone with a bubbly glee before scooting closer to you and answering the FaceTime, not caring about the loud bar in the background.
Her face almost touching yours.
You smiled as you looked at your two faces in the top left-hand corner before focusing on the person filling the giant frame.
"Yelena, where- Oh?!!" A confused-looking redhead emerged from the darkness of the screen before turning on a light next to them.
It's clear that they were sleeping.
And Yelena called them. Not the other way around.
"Yelena, who are you with!?" Yelena's sister questioned as she looked from her sister to you. "Who are you and where are you!?! It's so loud!"
You went to open your mouth, but Yelena stopped you by pulling the phone to be in front of her. "Natasha! This is Y/N! She's sweet, so don't be such a grump!" Yelena scoffed before sipping on her red cocktail.
You scooted closer to try and listen, but it was challenging due to the throwback 2000s that was playing.
But your ears did catch: "I know she's pretty!"
You turned away and smiled at that before picking up your drink.
"Oh my gosh! Go to bed! Bye!!- yes, I love you too!" Was what you heard when you decided to start listening again.
"Sisters can be so annoying," Yelena said as she shook her head. "She seems to love you though." Your drunk mind said, making Yelena turn to you. "Well, of course. I'm the best." Her face broke out into a grin that made you smile wide. "And yes, I love her." She took another sip while not so subtlety scooting closer to you. "Apparently, she was sleeping." Yelena rolls her eyes.
"So the date went well?" You rested your head on your hand and gave Yelena your full attention.
Yelena's eyes ran up your arm. Past your small stick and poke tattoo that you talked about briefly when you walked through a park that she couldn't remember the name of. And up to your fingers, where she glanced over the gold ring you bought for yourself two years ago. Past your unpainted nails until she landed on your face.
Your eyes.
Yelena nodded. "I think she had an amazing night."
_
It wasn't an easy trip back home.
But somehow, you and Yelena made it to your place safely.
Okay. You don't know how you made it to your place safely.
Yelena knows it's because she wasn't as drunk as you and could walk straight and could sing the real version of American Pie.
Whereas, on the train ride to your stop, you tried to convince Yelena that the Weird Al Yankovic Star Wars Parody was the real version.
But Yelena didn't know what Star Wars was and knew the original song by Don McLean by heart.
After Yelena set you down on the couch, she quickly looked around your place. It wasn't far from Natasha's due to the proximity to the bookstore.
Yelena thought your space was cute, but it wasn't decorated very well. In fact, Yelena found it interesting.
Odd. Would be another word for it.
She discovered most of your belongings were in boxes labeled to different names and places.
She walked to the fridge and grabbed a cold water bottle, knowing this would help sober you up more than the cool air had helped so far.
"Here." Yelena handed you the bottle as she crouched down in front of you. You took the water without a problem and opened it. Chugging it like it would be the last time.
"Thank you." You said into the air of feet between the two of you. "You're welcome," Yelena said back before she moved to sit next to you. You watched her the whole time.
In fact, the whole night, it became harder to keep your eyes off of her.
Maybe it was the drinks.
Maybe it wasn't.
"I had a great time." You said, making Yelena turn to you. She could smell the alcohol still dancing on your tongue, but you could smell hers. So it didn't really matter. "I did, too!" Yelena smiled. "Thank you." She said, making up shake your head the tiniest bit. "No, Yelena. Thank you."
It was hard to see because of how dim the lights behind you were, but you could've swore you saw Yelena's cheeks turn pink.
Yelena wanted to lean into you. She wanted to take this leap. But she couldn't. She didn't want to jeopardize anything. So, instead, she turned away from you.
You who wouldn't have said no. You who would've kissed her back and savored her taste. You who, if Yelena was going to be your last, you wanted to make it count.
But she turned away.
She looked at the book on your coffee table and recognized it immediately.
The book from your job. The book Agatha gave her.
"Oh wow! You really do love it!" Yelena leaned forward and picked it up. "Oh, I do more than love it." You said, acting coy. Confusing Yelena. "What do you mean?" With your foot, you pointed to a book near your bedroom door. Yelena got up and stood in front of it. "Nothings going to jump out and get me right?" She asked like a scared kid making you laugh. "It's safe. I promise."
Yelena took you by your word and opened the box. Inside were more copies of the book. Brand new.
You wrote it.
Yelena looked up at you with a fresh copy in hand. "You're Emily Hornberg?!" She said as she made her way in front of you.
You nodded. "I am."
Yelena froze as she held the hardcover in her hand. "Why aren't these everywhere?! It's great!" She asked questions and wanted to ask many others, but you held up your hand and leaned up from the back of your couch. "No one bought them." You took the book from her hand.
The touch of your fingers on her skin made her burn with pleasure.
"I would," Yelena said.
You looked up at her and her puppy dog eyes. "Take them."
"The whole box?"
You nodded.
Yelena waited for the joke to end, but you just looked at her until the room's silence continued for too long. And when your eyes darted away, that's when Yelena took a look around the room one more time.
Boxes of your things. Envelopes on top. No personal pictures throw about. Your work- a story the two of you loved waiting to be given away.
It dawned on her.
Yelena's eyes found the top of your head. "No." She said as tears slowly filled her eyes. "Please..." She said when you didn't look up, instead re-reading the back of the book repeatedly.
Yelena wanted you to look at her to see if this was really your plan. She reached forward and grabbed the book from your hand with ease and threw it into your bedroom door. You jumped and looked up.
Tears were in your eyes, too.
"Y/N..." Yelena said as she crouched in front of you, her voice the opposite of her previous action. Soft. "Yelena..." Your voice cracked as tears slipped down your cheek.
This time, Yelena went with her gut as she wrapped her arms around you, holding you close and letting you sob into her shoulder.
Apologies and a bunch of mind-twisting truths spilled from you as Yelena did nothing but hold you close and whisper into your ear about how much you changed her life tonight.
_
You watched as Diane, a mom of two daughters, talked about a night recently when her oldest asked them where their daddy had gone.
You held back the tears in your throat as you couldn't help but picture if that had been you people asked questions about. If you weren't sitting in a metal chair, that did shit for your back.
When Diane was finished, the time had hit six o'clock, meaning that group was over.
As people filed out, you hung back to stack the chairs with the leader, Lizzie—a thrifty-something brunette who had green eyes that reminded you of another.
"Any plans this weekend?" She asked to break up, the only sound being the clanking of the chairs. You shrugged. "Maybe go to the beach." Lizzie nodded. "And the writing?" She asked. "Has that been going well?"
You stopped as you put up the last chair.
"If you want to save it for group, we can." She said as she placed a hand on your arm. You shook your head. "It's fine." Lizzie nodded with an understanding smile. "I just have this one idea about a character. But... I don't know." Lizzie patted your arm before she pulled her hand away. "Well, I think it sounds great. Something that you should keep exploring."
You nodded, knowing she was right. Like always. It was kind of annoying but in a fun way.
"See you Monday?" She asked as you walked to the exit. "Same time." You replied, making Lizzie send you a thumbs up.
You took one last look at her green eyes before leaving through the double door. Immediately, you were attacked by someone you had not been expecting. "Jesus, Agatha! What the fuck!" You shouted at your friend and boss. "Gotcha!" She winked and pulled you close.
"What are you doing here?" You asked as she let you go. "Saving you from taking the subway, hon." She replied as she rounded her car. "You coming?" She asked, knowing that she wouldn't take no for an answer.
You followed.
"You know..." You said as Agatha pulled out of her illegal parking spot. "You don't have to keep picking me up every Friday. I'll be fine."
"I know." She replied. "I want to." You nodded and let your defense down. "Thank you."
"Don't mention it." She said as she hit the CD button. "Besides, I want to show you a display I was working on today."
You looked over at Agatha. "Okay." You said before tilting your head. "It's not another Collen Hoover display because I swear to Go-" Agatha stopped you. "That was a prank one time!!" You rolled your eyes. "One too many." You mumble, making Agatha slap your arm.
The drive wasn't long, but it was long enough where your mind kept floating back to Yelena, how she held you night and stayed by your side for the weeks that followed. How you struggled and fought with your own mind and body. The good days and bad. The days that became worse.
She was there.
But it wasn't becoming easy for the blonde. How were you to know that Yelena had been pushing work off for a month after your first night together? How she wanted to protect you. How she stayed up shopping your book around to different publishers for hours after you fell asleep next to her.
Or even how she didn't hear your confessions of more fall from your lips because she had fallen asleep as you laid on her chest.
"How's Yelena?" As if Agatha could sense where your thoughts had gone, she asked a question to make you frown. "She was gone this morning." You replied, making Agatha immediately take her eyes off the road to look at you. "She what!"
"10 and 2!" You shouted. Once the car was not going to crash, you looked over at the older woman. "Yeah, she was gone this morning, and all of my calls and texts haven't been answered." You looked down at your phone and back to Agatha. "Did I do something wrong?" You asked.
"No." Agatha instantly replied. "You did nothing wrong. Besides. Let's not jump to any conclusions she maybe got busy with her sister or something."
The thought of texting Natasha had crossed your mind, but a part of you was scared, and you didn't want to have someone else worry about your dangerous thoughts.
"Alright. Let's pop in quickly, and then I'll walk you home." Agatha said as she parked the car and threw off her seatbelt. Excited to show you the new display. You follow suit at about less than half the excitement.
Agatha waited at the front door and let you go in first, but you stopped in the open doorway when you lifted your eyes. "Go!" Agatha pushed you in as you froze, staring at Yelena.
Agatha quickly followed in and locked the door behind herself.
Yelena stared back at you with a smile. "Come here." Yelena quietly said with an outstretched hand.
"Where were you?" You asked with your voice not as gentle. "In Jersey," Yelena replied, making you tilt your head as you took steps closer as you knew she wasn't lying.
You went to ask a million more questions, but Yelena surprised you by taking steps forward to grab your hand in hers. "I'm sorry I ignored you today. But I promise Y/N Y/L/N I'll never do that again." You looked into her green eyes and could feel the love. "I just want to surprise you."
"Surprise me?"
Yelena hated surprises, so this intrigued you more.
She nodded with a big grin before biting her bottom lip and turning around. Yelena pulled you to the spinning book display.
"That's my book..." You said. Yelena watched your eyes dance across the multiple copies. "It says my name. My real name..." You watched Yelena's hands pick up a copy and hand it to you.
With the spine facing you.
At the bottom of the spine, it had a publishing house logo.
Your mouth moved up and down as your emotions threatened to spill out. Yelena could see it, too. "Here." Her voice was light and soft as she took your hand and moved it to the back of the book.
Inside was a picture that Yelena had taken of your first night together. It's you standing at the bottom of the red stairs in Times Square, looking up. Yelena couldn't help it as you looked beautiful. But Yelena's favorite part of the picture is that you could see your two moles.
And on the inside of this copy, Yelena drew the tiniest line underneath them.
A smile.
"Yelena..." You swallowed a sob as you looked up to her. "Detka." She responded as you still had no idea what it meant. She saw the tears in your eyes and brought her hand to your cheek. "You did this for me?" You asked, forcing a laugh from Yelena.
"It's only because I love you."
That broke you.
You collapsed into her arms as Yelena kissed the sides of your face and head. "I lobe yov too!" Yelena's shoulder muffled your declaration.
But she heard you and smiled.
"I'm proud of you," Yelena whispered into your ear. "Thank you." You whispered back, only to earn a shake of the head. "You don't need to thank me for something that's honest and easy. You did all the hard work." You looked up at her. "I'll be here," Yelena said.
"I'm happy you came in here that night."
"Me too."
As your lips pressed against hers in a passionate kiss, Agatha adverted her eyes and found herself being unwanted at this moment.
Meanwhile, as you and Yelena separated from one another, you both couldn't help but think how different your lives would be if Yelena hadn't stepped into this shop...
But two years later, as you found yourselves at a party celebrating your second book about a hot blonde female spy, Yelena held a box in her pocket.
Happy that she'd never have to know any other life besides this one.
Chapter 1 Chapter 2
CHAPTER 4
Words: 2.8k
Tags/Warnings: Fluff, Angst, Chaotic Yelena Belova, Wanda is a pouty witchy, SIGNATURE WANDA HEAD-TILT
Tumblr media
"That all you got, witchy?" you teased her, "I can take a hit, you know?"
You and Wanda had been 'fighting' on a field behind the compound. Despite Wanda telling you that she wouldn't hold back, you could tell that she definitely was.
Wanda's eyes glowed a bright red as she flashed a smirk, "We're just getting started," she winked before ascending upwards. A shiver ran up your spine at her response, you barely even realised that she was currently throwing a bolt of red magic towards you.
The two of you were testing reflexes today, it was obvious that you would most likely have the better reflexes due to spider sense. But, Wanda still wanted to put that up to the test. She wanted to make sure that you would be one hundred percent ready for anything that happened to come your way out on each and every mission.
As time went on, you were getting a lot better at reacting to her moves and attacks. The pair of you were making jokes and quips here and there, Wanda soon let out a laugh which effectively distracted you. You just couldn't stop yourself from staring, completely in awe. You let out a groan as you took the full force of her magic, "Damn, Wands..." you let out a laugh but quickly keeled over in pain.
Wanda's panic started to rise, "No no no no-" she muttered as she descended down towards you, "I'm sorry, I-"
"Relax, little witch," you gave her a thumbs up as you stood, "I told you not to hold back. I'm fine, see?" you raised your arms slightly as you turned around in a circle, "Not a scratch," you physically ached all over, but you knew that your advanced healing abilities would soon kick in.
Letting out a sigh of relief, Wanda nodded, "Okay... I just... I'm trying to stop myself from hurting people. After what happened..." she trailed off.
"I understand," you assured as you placed a hand on her shoulder, "I'm not gonna blame you for 'hurting me' when I've asked you to train. We can stop if you'd like? Pick this up some other time?"
"If you don't mind," she looked away from you.
You dared to move your hand from her shoulder to her cheek to turn her gaze back towards you, "All good, witchy. We'll do this again same time next week if you're up for it by then?"
Gulping, Wanda nodded slightly. She wished that it was actually your hand against her cheek instead of the material of the suit you wore, "I'll let you know. Thank you." She also wished that she could look into your real eyes at this moment.
You couldn't stop yourself from rubbing her cheek slightly with your thumb, the suit you wore managed to give you the extra confidence to do things like this here and there. It wasn't the first time you and Wanda had been alone together in a quiet moment like this.
"Ready to go back in?" you asked, "We could-"
"Are you ever going to tell me who you are?" Wanda suddenly cut you off, sounding just a little desperate.
In response, you quickly dropped your hand and took a step back, "I..." you turned your head, trying your best to focus on anything but her, "M-Maybe? I don't-" You had actually intended to tell the Avengers who you were a couple weeks ago... The only thing holding you back was Wanda.
Wanda had quickly become one of your closest friends within the Avengers and you really didn't want to lose that. You didn't want to lose the potential chance of actually being with Wanda in the future... That was what you were working towards in the first place. Your feelings for Wanda had grown a lot more quickly than you had expected. What if she hated who you were underneath the mask? What if she realised how weak and vulnerable you were without the suit? Your fears were too great to ignore.
"You don't trust me?" Wanda's voice was quiet, but you could hear the slight anger lacing her words - her glowing red eyes locked onto the ground. A pout found its way onto her face.
"It's got nothing to do with trust, Wanda!" you tried to reassure her, "I'm just..."
She looked up at you with a sad expression, her eyes still red, "You won't ever tell me, will you?" she did that signature head-tilt... the one you knew she did when she was indeed angry.
"I never said that," you sighed, "I just need time, Wanda. Please?" You were still working on trying to become friends with Wanda as your civilian self, it was proving to be quite a challenge.
"Sure, Noir," she grumbled before turning towards the compound, "I'll catch you later, okay?" she said, your heart clenched at the sight of her frown as she walked away.
"Wanda..." you sighed, the woman didn't turn around at your words. An irritated sigh escaped you as you whispered to yourself, "Nice going, Y/N..." you scolded yourself.
Tumblr media
"I see you've finished up quickly?"
"Yeah," you smiled, "Tony didn't give me as much paperwork as usual today. I'm starting to think he likes me," your smile turned into a smirk.
Natasha had checked in on you from time to time when Clint wasn't available, it was nice to have a fresh face to talk to. Even a couple of the other Avengers had popped in to say hi here and there. You were glad the Avengers were starting to welcome you more as you had recently decided that it might be best to actually get to know everyone else and not just Wanda... Anything to get your mind off that woman.
Walking by you to grab a drink from the fridge, Natasha smiled back, "I knew Tony would go soft on you. You're our head tech girl after all."
"H-Head?" you stuttered, almost choking on your drink.
"Tony didn't tell you? Him and Steve decided to make you the manager of everything tech-related here. Which also means a higher pay," she winked at you before slamming the fridge door shut.
"Wow..." you whispered, "I will try my best not to let you guys down."
"You've done great so far, don't be too hard on yourself," she nudged your shoulder, "We've known about so many more threats because of you. So don't worry."
"Thanks," you said, a slight blush on your cheeks.
"No prob-"
"KATE BISHOP!" a very angry sounding voice could be heard from the hall.
"Great..." you heard Natasha sigh before she quickly downed her drink in one, "They're here way too early for my liking," a frown appeared on her face.
You raised an eyebrow, "If you don't mind me asking. Who?"
"Yelena. My sister. And Kate. Her... Friend? I don't really know where those two stand," she replied. She couldn't stop the smile from appearing as her sister showed her face from around the corner.
"You have a sister?" you muttered as a blonde woman walked in.
"Yelena," Natasha sighed before bringing her sister into a hug, "Why are you and Kate fighting? Again?"
Yelena simply groaned as she pulled away, "She is so infuriating! She thought it would be best if I was her test subject for some of those 'trick arrows' Barton gave her."
You couldn't help but laugh, you had seen what some of those trick arrows could do out on the field.
"And who do we have here?" the blonde approached.
"Leave her alone," Natasha warned.
Yelena rolled her eyes, "I'm simply interested!"
"Er... Y-Y/N, Miss... Romanoff?" you gulped as she eyed you up and down.
"Yelena Belova," she corrected, "And please. What is with the 'Miss'?" she gripped your hand tight before shaking it, she soon pulled you into an unexpected hug, "Pleasure to meet you."
Well... Getting to know everyone else was going surprisingly well.
Tumblr media
Her teeth clenched hard. Her eyes were glowing red.
Wanda had been sitting at a table on the far side of the break room watching everyone around her. The thought of you not revealing your identity was sending her into a spiral. Deep down she knew that it wasn't a trust issue... But there was still a nagging feeling in the back of her head saying otherwise.
She would be lying if she said she hadn't tried to read your mind every time you trained together. But it was proving to be extremely difficult, and Wanda was unsure as to why.
"KATE BISHOP!"
An angry voice made her look towards the doorway on the other side of the room, a blonde woman soon came rushing in.
Ah. Yelena. Wanda had met her once before.
She watched as you were crushed by the blonde in a hug with Natasha laughing nearby. Wanda had spoken to you countless times about tech-related stuff, things that she didn't really understand. But she was learning. She had also praised you for helping the Avengers by alerting them regarding certain threats across the city. You were becoming a good asset to the tech team, that's for sure.
"Everything okay over here, wi-?" Witchy. You cleared your throat, quickly stopping yourself from spitting out the nickname, "Miss Maximoff?"
Wanda was too busy deep in her thoughts to even notice you approach, she shook her head before looking at you, "O-Oh? Er... Yes. And for the last time. Call me-"
"Wanda," you rolled your eyes with a smirk. You decided not to comment on her eyes once they finally returned to their normal color.
She simply smiled in response, "I'm sorry if I missed anything, I was just deep in thought. Did you need anything?"
"No, nothing at all. Just checking up on you."
"You wanted to get away from Belova, didn't you?"
Groaning, you replied, "Being in the middle of those two arguing is intense."
"Mm..." Wanda hummed in agreement, "You get used to her rather quickly. The Bishop girl, too."
You were about to say your goodbyes, but you quickly remembered, "Oh, actually. There was something I wanted to tell you. I-I managed to get you on a patrol route with Noir. Tomorrow, 11pm sharp."
"A Saturday night? Well that's not going to be a walk in the park," she bit her lip, her smile seemed to widen, "Thank you, Y/N. This means a lot."
You cleared your throat before quickly turning your head away, wanting to hide your reddened cheeks upon hearing Wanda's soft voice, "Y-Yep! No problem! I-I hope the patrol goes well for the both of you."
Wanda raised an eyebrow at your sudden reaction.
She was going to question you, but you quickly excused yourself.
"Y/N!" Yelena exclaimed, her arms shot straight up in the air, "I missed you!"
"I was gone for less than five minutes, what-?"
"Nonsense! It felt like an eternity!" she pulled you into yet another hug.
You couldn't help but laugh at how Yelena acted.
Natasha laughed slightly, "You're so weird."
Yelena gasped as she pulled away from you, "How dare you..." she glared at her sister.
You were starting to wonder how these two managed to function in a house together when they were younger.
Tumblr media
Getting home after work was always easy. All you had to was tap the metallic wrist band and bam: Spider suit. Swinging back home would always be the most efficient and effective way.
You stepped into your office, closing the door behind you. This had become a daily routine for you. Make sure there was no one outside the window and...
You tapped your wrist and quickly opened the window. The coast was clear. You launched yourself out of the window and swung up onto the high roof of the compound. The sun was setting, you took a deep breath of fresh air in as you watched the bright sky slowly turn darker.
"What are you doing here?"
A voice caused you to jump, you almost fell off the roof in the process.
"I-I, what- Huh?" you questioned, trying to compose yourself in the process.
"I said... What are you doing here?" Wanda.
You cleared your throat, "I... I was just admiring the sunset."
"Hmm. It's just, you're not usually here at this time," she said, slight suspicion in her voice.
You needed to make up a lie as to why you were here. You couldn't have her figuring out that someone who worked at the compound was Noir.
That was when your brain dinged, "I wanted to come over and apologise to you!" you quickly blurted out.
"Apologise?" Wanda asked, confusion across her face.
To be honest, you did want to apologise anyways. So now was a better time than any.
"Yeah," you sighed, taking a seat on the edge of the roof. Wanda cautiously joined you. You took a deep breath before continuing on, "I wanted to say sorry for what happened earlier. I know you want to know who I am, and I'm sorry that I can't tell you. Not yet at least."
"Noir..." Wanda sighed, shaking her head, "You have nothing to apologise for."
"It's not that I don't trust you. Hell, you're probably the person I trust most here."
Wanda felt her heart leap at that confession.
"Then what's holding you back?" she wondered, hurt still laced her words.
"It's a couple things, really. First off, it makes me feel so much safer. Having no one know who are you are gives you so much freedom. I'm not ready to give that up, yet."
"Another thing?" Wanda pushed.
You scratched the back of your neck, "W-Well... I'm... Scared."
"Of what?" she asked, she was clearly worried about why.
"There's this voice in the back of my head that keeps on telling me that nobody will like who I am under the mask. I'm afraid to face the disappointment."
That was when Wanda reached over and grabbed your hands, "You know that I wouldn't judge you, right? I would accept you as I do now. Nothing would change."
You could feel your cheeks heat up at the close contact, "I... I don't know," you admitted in full honesty. You soon felt tears within your eyes, "I've finally found people who accept me. I can't lose everyone here. I can't lose you, Wanda. You're the closest person to me."
Wanda frowned at the noise of your slight sob, "I will be here when you're ready, Noir. You have my word. I can assure you I will like you, whoever you are under that mask," her hands caressed her fabric covering yours, she then quickly added, "W-We all will like you. I promise."
"What if I'm never ready?" you turned away with a whisper.
Wanda's heart clenched at the thought of you never revealing who you were. However, she let out a shaky breath and replied, "Then your identity remains a secret indefinitely. And that is your decision."
"But, you wouldn't like that," you muttered. Your brain and your heart were all muddled up with what you should do.
"It doesn't matter what I do or don't like, Noir," she paused, her eyes focusing on your covered hands, "I would like to apologise for acting cold towards you earlier. Deep down, I do respect your decision to keep your identity a secret. Your feelings are what matters in this situation, no one else's."
"Wanda..."
She squeezed your hand gently, "Whatever you decide. I'm with you every step of the way. Okay?"
Without thinking, you lurched forward and wrapped your arms tightly around her, "Thank you, Wanda."
If you hadn't been wearing a mask, you might've actually kissed her then and there. But for now, You were just thankful that Wanda was on your side. A weight had been lifted off your shoulders that night, the thought of revealing who you really are to Wanda was becoming a pleasant one at last.
Perhaps the day you revealed your identity was a lot closer than you originally thought.
Shapeshifter and the Quizz
a/n: in my mind it was a good idea
*not my GIF*
mama!Natasha Romanoff x daughter!Reader; Wanda Maximoff x Female!Reader; Pietro Maximoff x Female!Reader(best friend); Yelena Belova x Teen!Reader(aunti-niece); Avengers x Teen!Reader
Summary: it was not the type of Natasha to get involved in Sam's and Tony's childish game but she need to prove them she know you better than anyone
Type: Fluff
Wanrning: nothing
words count: 1879
----------
In the tower, the Avengers were chilling; it was one of those days when there was nothing to do except probably for Pietro, who was planning a lot of pranks for everyone. Usually you should be home at this hour, but you decided to hang out with MJ a little. Correction: She forced you to hang out with her, but you didn't mind; she's one of your best friends, so it's okay.
Tony came to the living room, where Wanda was watching TV with Peter and Natasha was reading; there was also Sam, Bucky, and Steve, but they were doing their thing. "Red, I'm building a new bookshelf for the little spider, but I don't know what's her favorite color." He asked, and before your mom could understand what he said, she heard.
"(F/C)" said by the Sokovian. She smiled, and Tony looked at her for confirmation; she just nodded.
It should be like that; she was happy to know your girlfriend knew you. But she obviously didn't think Sam would invite himself into the equation.
"Oh, Nat, I'm confused; I thought you were the one who knows her best," Sam teased her. Everybody knew what he was doing, but Tony, being Tony, couldn't let it slip. "She starts to steal your baby girl." He said this loudly, and the Russian started to feel jealous of your relationship with Wanda.
"What do you mean, guys? Of course I know what her favorite color is. Wanda was just faster." She replied; she obviously didn't want to fall into their childish game.
"Okay, so what's her favorite movie?" Sam asked not so innocently.
"(F/M)" Wanda replied instantly; there was a silence, and she looked at the redhead. "Sorry," she said lowly.
"See, Natasha, she knows Y/n better than you," the Falcon teased. Usually she wouldn't let them get her, but when Steve and Bucky laughed at Sam's antics, she started to feel jealous.
"Okay, and what do you want to do?" The Russian said, and Tony thought for a moment.
"What do you think about a quiz? We will ask you questions, and the first to reply wins a point," he said. Everybody looked excited.
"We're not obligated," Wanda said to Natasha.
"No, but why not?" The redhead replied. "But what win the winner?" she asked Tony.
He looked at the room and tried to find something worth before his eye lend on a shirt with Minnie Mouse. "A trip to Disneyland with Y/n?" he asked, and the Russian seemed skeptical.
"Why would I play to win something I can afford?" she asked.
"Because I'll pay everything," he replied, and that seemed to cheer Natasha.
"Deal!" they both said.
"Perfect, now we just need a referee who knows Y/n as much as you." Sam said. He thought for a moment before speaking again. "Friday, can you tell Pietro we need him here, and it's important." And the IA did.
For the first fifty minutes, they both replied correctly at the same time. The little animation brought the rest of the Avengers into the living room, and at each question, they always had a little comment. You finally showed up a few minutes later.
"Hey mom, I'm...here" you said when you entered the tower. Your mom didn't come to greet you, but you heard noise in the living room, so you made your way into the room, where you found your mom and your girlfriend. They seemed tense. "Wow. What's happening here?" You asked and walked to sit between them. All eyes were now on you.
"Oh, perfect little Romanoff. We are playing a game. A quiz." Sam explained.
"What's the theme?" You asked; you wanted to play too; it could be fun.
"You." Tony said, and you frowned your eyebrows. Your mom was not someone who easily got involved in Sam's stupid plans.
"Okay, I have another question." Pietro said, and everybody looked at him. "Who was Y/n's first kiss?" He asked, and now everyone looked at you, and it was impossible to hide your flushed cheeks.
"Easy, it's me." Wanda said, and you lowered your head; you were clearly not ready for that. When she noticed you, the witch gasped. "Seriously?" She asked, visibly offended, and everybody except you two laughed.
"It was Mike." Natasha said, "One of our old neighbors." She explained proudly. And you shook your head.
"To be completely honest with you, it was her big sister Nora." You said, and you didn't miss the grin on Pietro's face.
"What but you said…"   Your mom said
"Yeah, but it was before I came out, and I didn't know how you'd react," you confessed, and the redhead hugged you. This cute moment was interrupted by Tony.
"Okay, who was your best kiss between her and your first with the little witch?" He asked, and you rolled your eyes.
"Wanda, of course," you replied, and your girlfriend kissed your cheek.
"Okay, okay, lovebirds I have another question." Sam exclaimed. "Who's Y/n's favorite Avenger?" he asked, and you chuckled. Except Pietro, no one could reply.
"Me," they both said, and you and your best friend laughed. The two women looked at you, shocked.
"It's totally Auntie Yelena," you replied, and Natasha cursed herself. Of course it was her; you were literally her biggest fan.
"At least the little poser has good taste." Yelena said, and you gave her a high five.
"I'm pretty disappointed," Wanda said, and she pouted. She was too cute, but that didn't change anything.
"Okay, guys, I have a last question. The first who replies wins," you said. "And I warn you, I'll be very disappointed if you can't find the right answer." you added. Okay, now there was a lot of tension in the room because of you. You cleared your throat and felt everybody focus on you. "Who... is... my best friend?" you asked.
"Oh, come on, it's easy. Pietro," your girlfriend replied.
"No, it's MJ," your mom said.
You didn't say anything; you just stood up, went to the kitchen to grab something to eat, and made your way to your mom's room. Everyone looked at you but didn't understand why you acted like that. Pietro could see you were pissed off, and it was unbearable.
"Really?" your best friend asked, and all eyes were now on him.
"What?  It's true." Wanda defends herself.
"Technically yes, but from what we saw, it's not the answer she expects." Yelena said.
"But who is it?" Sam was obviously the only one who remembered you didn't reply.
"It's you!" Pietro said poiting Natasha before sprinting to your location.
"Hey buddy," you said, and you sat properly on the bed, and he sat beside you.
"Oh, you take better than I thought." he replied, and you chuckled.
"And how did you think I would react?" you asked, clearly amused by his exception.
"I thought you would be more sad, you know, like this time with Wanda when she didn't say 'I love you' back and you were a burden for a complete day." He said and you groaned, "Or this time when you split all your drink on the table because you imitated Peter." He added and you laughed.
"It was a very good drink, so of course I would be sad." you said.
"Or this time when you shot an explosive arrow and almost destroyed the training area, and Laura grounded you for fifteen minutes because it was dangerous." he added.
"Okay, I understand; you know me really well, but I need to remind you that it was not my fault for the arrow. If Kate didn't change it, I would never destroy it." you defend.
"I think that means Tony own me a weekend at Disney," he said, and you frowned your eyebrow.
"What?" you asked.
"He promised a weekend at Disney World to the one of them who could answer the question the best," he explained, and your eyes were wide open.
"All that for a trip to Disney World?" you asked, and he nodded. Pietro wanted to speak, but your mom and your girlfriend came.
"Hey, are you still angry?" Natasha asked.
"I wasn't angry," you replied, "just a little surprised that you couldn't both answer an easy question like that." you explained.
Your mom looked at her feet; she was a little ashamed that she couldn't get the right answer. "I didn't know," she mumbled, and before you could notice, Pietro excused himself and her sister and took her out of the redhead's room. He really knew you the best.
"How? I mean, we spent a lot of time together." you said. She didn't reply at first and just sat beside you, wrapping her arm around your shoulder.
"Yeah, but with the time we had fewer mommy-daughter moments; every time I asked you, you said you had something planned with MJ, Peter, Ned, or Pietro, and now you have Wanda."
"But did you forget all the mommy-daughter moments we couldn't have because you were on mission or just too exhausted from work?" you asked, and she felt guilty. "But I'm not really upset or anything. Yes, it's true, I spent a lot of time with MJ recently, but that's because recently you had a lot of missions, so she stayed with me to fill the void of not having you with me whenever I wanted, like when I was a kid, but it's okay." you explained.
"But I should be there. It's not okay." she said, and she started to feel angry towards herself.
"Hey, it's okay, Mom, like really. It's true sometimes; it's really sad, but I know you are somewhere, helping people, and I'm okay with that. I mean, how many teens can say that they have the famous Black Widow as mom?" you said, and she smiled.
"What did I do to deserve you?" Nat asked with tears in her eyes, and you chuckled.
"You just knocked out a bad guy." you joked, and she laughed.
"I love you, мой маленький ангел (my little angel)." She said, and hugged you.
"I love you, too, мама медведь (mama bear)" you replied. There was silence for a moment before you spoke again. "Wait, what will we do about the trip to Disney?" you asked.
"I think you can convince Pietro to let you and her sister have a good time." she suggested, but you shook your head.
"I think I have a better idea. You'll go with Wanda, and I will stay with Pietro at Barton's farm." you said, and she frowned her eyebrow. "It's obvious that you both know me very well, but I think you need to learn more about each other." And it's been a long time since I had a sleepover with Lila, so it's a win-win." you explained.
"Are you sure about that?"
"Yeah, and don't worry, Aunti Laura will do all she can to not let me or Pietro get hurt or anything." you assured her. Your mom didn't reply; she just nodded and laid down on the bed, and you imitated her.
"I'm happy to be your best friend." she whispered, trying not to break the mood.
"I know, everyone would want to." you joked. You both stayed like that until you fell asleep, visibly tired about your day.
prompt: Dreykov always had a back up plan, a fail safe, in case his empire fell. You grew up with Yelena and Natasha in the Red Room. But unlike your sisters, who became an Avenger or the greatest child assassin respectively, Dreykov had a different purpose for you. Now that he was gone, you were released from your cage - to hunt down the ones responsible for the death of the Red Room.
pairing(s): yelena belova x dark!sister!reader; kate bishop x dark!reader (not romantic); antonia dreykov x dark!reader
warning(s)/notes: mentions of murder; experimentations; Dreykov being a crap individual; mentions of AoS plot lines; crappy writing; Y/N shows emotions briefly and hates it, does not recommend
Laura laughed out loud at the face you made once trying your latte, a free one you had received once being the one hundredth customer of the week. She covered her mouth with her hand as you glared at the offensive beverage, your guard lowered for a second. Clearing your throat, you pushed the drink away from you on the table and leveled your gaze on Laura, your objective once more ringing through your mind. You took on an inquisitive expression, feigning the appearance of something stalling in your mind. You picked up the coffee Barton’s wife had bought you, not the disgusting one you wanted to throw out the window, and took a sip before asking a question.
“Barton, Barton - why does that name sound familiar?” You made sure to keep your voice lowered, as to not get the attention of the other patrons in the cafe, and to give Laura a false sense of security. The woman smiled softly, taking a drink of her own coffee before answering.
“Probably from my husband, he’s a bit popular around this city.”
You let your eyes widen, brighten at her words. You snapped before pointing at her excitedly.
“Hawkeye! I wish I could’ve seen the battle of New York, I’ve heard it was a spectacle.”
Laura smiled at the child like excitement in your voice. Truth be told, you didn’t have to feign the emotion in your tone, some part of you truly wished you could’ve seen your sis- the Avengers in action. Laura’s phone beeped and she opened her message, looking at you with an apologetic look.
“My daughter,” she explained, waving her phone in the air, “something to do with a school project. Can we exchange numbers? I would love to continue this sometime.”
Something blossomed in your chest at the warmth in her tone but you were quick to squash it. With a quirk of your lips, you wrote your number down on a napkin, handing it to Laura. The woman nodded in thanks before waving back to you and walking away. You waited a few moments before getting up, taking the offensive coffee and marching over to the barista, who looked at you with false happiness.
“Hello ma’am, how may I-” he didn’t get to finish his words, as you focused on the gravitational pulls around his throat. You watched as his face turned red, his hands grasping at his neck, clawing at the skin. Calmly, you set the latte down on the counter and watched in amusement as the barista fell to the ground. Adjusting your jacket, you spun around, a panicked look on your face.
“Someone call an ambulance!”
Soon there was a crowd of people surrounding the barista, voices rising through the air as someone tried to get a hold of 911. You meandered away, your footsteps light as you made your way down the sidewalks of New York City.
-
“Sir, I wouldn’t recommend using her just yet - our other test subjects have been destroyed by the mere pressure this element puts on their bodies-”
Dreykov raised a hand to stop the scientist, his eyes trained on you as you sat curled up in a corner. You were shaking, pain still coursing through your body days after the last experiment, where your bones were covered in an indestructible substance. But that’s not what haunted your mind, not the burning of your bones or the heaviness that laced your body. No, what haunted you was the look on Yelena’s face before she was knocked out. She looked shocked to see you, shocked to see what Dreykov was doing but not…concerned. She looked like she didn’t care, like you didn’t matter.
Natasha was always the favorite sister.
Dreykov motioned for you and with heavy movements you stood up, making your way to the man. The scientist watched you with an apology in her eyes. You didn’t know what that meant. You were led down a hallway, Dreykov’s hand on your back - guiding you. Once inside a heavily armored room, Dreykov led you to a small chamber. You eyed the vials of levitating darkness with contempt, not wanting to feel anymore pain.
“Now, my georgin, this will only last a moment, then you will taste power only the strongest of men have feasted upon,” Dreykov paused, watching as the contempt into your eyes faded away, still lingering with fear but now drowning in a thirst that was reflected in his own. He raised a hand to move your chin so you were looking at him.
“The…others who were gifted with this opportunity were weak, they crumbled under the weight of what was expected. They disappointed me. But, you won’t, will you, my rising feniks?”
You set your chin, determination flooding your veins. The weighted material coating your skeleton felt lighter, no more holding you down but fueling your strength as you made your way into the chamber. As the door shut, you held back a hiss at the pinpricks of pain on your arms and legs from the needles. You saw Dreykov watching you, then you watched as he nodded to the scientist in your peripheral vision, and you closed your eyes. Focusing your breath, you steadied your heart, desperate not to show weakness. When the vials emptied into your system, you almost bit your tongue off with the force of your teeth.
But you didn’t scream.
Oh no, you didn’t scream.
After a few moments, the pain disappeared, melting away as energy surged through you, whispers flooding your mind. It felt…empowering.
It started with a chuckle, a mere movement of your shoulders in amusement, then it grew into a roar of laughter bursting from your lips.
If this was the price of pain, you would thrive in its riches.
-
The street was crowded with bystanders, all panicking with the sight before them. Pushing through the crowd, Yelena felt her heart beating rapidly in her chest.
It was you, she knew it was.
The description that Kate and Clint had given her of the victim’s body only further proved her thoughts to be true. A young man with a crushed throat but no signs of force on his skin. His eyes popping out of the sockets with the amount of force used to destroy his airway, his face a disturbing gray while the rest of his body an unnerving natural shade.
The two archers opted to stay behind at Kate’s apartment, hoping to find a way to track you down. But Yelena knew there was only one true way to catch you, someone who was equally as close to Dreykov as you once were. Someone, who could hopefully win in a fight against you, even with all your advantages. Yelena made it to the front of the crowd, where she saw the EMTs load the body into a truck, the police keeping everyone back as their CSI desperately searched the scene for any evidence.
“They’re not going to find anything,” a voice rang out next to Yelena, accented and rough, “Even if she didn’t have her powers, it’s what we’re taught- to not leave a trace.”
Yelena turned toward the other woman, nodding her chin in greeting. Antonia, once known as Taskmaster, nodded her own in return. She set her gaze towards the ambulance, ignoring the stares from others at her burn marks.
“This is her second, da?”
Yelena nodded, sighing as she rubbed her brow with her hand, curling it into a fist in frustration.
“She’s playing with me, Antonia, leaving a note at Lana’s house, walking around the city, hiding in plain sight. It’s exhausting.”
Antonia shrugged, a humorless smirk pulling on the edges of her lips.
“I wouldn’t take it personally. You and Natasha killed my father and now that Natasha is out of the equation, you’re the only loose string left- excluding your parents.”
Yelena turned her full attention to Antonia, question in her eyes. Antonia sighed, turning her body to face Yelena.
“Y/N is Dreykov’s fail-safe, Yelena, his avenger. You killed him, you’re her target. This,” she waved a hand towards the crime scene, “is just fun and games for her, none of it matters. This ends with your blood staining her hands. It’s what she’s programmed to do.”
Yelena swallowed, sharp pains tugging at her heart. She lost one sister to sacrifice and one to the exploits of a mad man.
At least one could be easily saved.
“Well then,” Yelena faked a smile, looking Antonia dead in the eyes, “we have our work cut out for us then. I’ll call the archers and you go get your suit.”
Yelena watched as the ambulance drove away.
“It’s time to start playing her game.”
You knew this whole thing was wrong, it was a toxic never ending cycle, but still you could never help yourself when it came to her.
You and Yelena were together for three years, three years filled with love and lust and happiness; but then your relationship became hateful, bitter and full of anger, still the lust between the two of you remained the same.
Allegedly, the two of you had broken up 5 months ago. Allegedly, you resented her for the shit she put you through. Allegedly, you didn’t even want to see her face.
Nevertheless, she always found her way back to you, —back to your bed—. The moment her lips made contact with yours, you knew you had lost all sense of reason. How could you restrain yourself when her hips grazed against yours in a slowly almost painful yet divine pace that had you arching your back and curling your toes?
“Fuck,” you breathed out, as her hands thighten the frim grip on your waist.
You always promised yourself it would be the last time, that it was just your body reacting to hers, that you would be strong the next time and would turn her down. It took you a couple more slips to finally understand that you and Yelena were done, that the two of you were through. But you finally came to your senses.
“You do know this is the last time, right?” you said breathless, feeling your quick heartbeat in your eardrums.
You sword to yourself that would be the last time you let yourself give in to her. Just one more night of pleasure, just one more night of kisses and whimperings and moans, and the next day it would be over.
“Yeah, I know,” though her voice was muffled by your cunt you could still make out the sarcastic tone in her voice.
“I mean it, Yel,” you tried to sound serious, and apparently you did because she lifted up her head for her eyes to find yours.
“I know you do,” and she did know. She knew that you meant it, at that specific moment.
But she also knew your statement wouldn’t last long, that you would soon change your mind and her lips would find their way back to your neck, hips, thighs and cunt.
So she allowed you to think it was over, but it will be over once she decided so.
[...]
It’d been a year since you had last seen her, you thought that was it, that the two of you had moved on at last. But maybe you got it all wrong, maybe all the things she made you feel enhanced by being away from her, maybe you forced yourself to forget about her. But there was no point in trying it, for she had made a mark on your heart. Like a tattoo, always under skin even when it gets removed.
But tonight was supposed to be different, you were supposed to have fun, drink and dance with your girl friends. But for some odd reason you couldn't stop thinking about the blonde. You would mess around with some people, but you found yourself thinking that it wasn’t her hands roaming around your body, or her lips leaving kisses and bites all over your neck, it wasn't her scent and it most certainly wasn’t her hoarse voice reaching your ears.
As you and your friends made your way to the bar, you heard your phone ringing. Even before you took a look at the screen you were 100% sure that it was her calling you, who else could it be then?
Your heart picked up its pace as you looked at the ID caller and your suspicions were confirmed. It was at that moment that you realised that you had never blocked or deleted her contact number.
Before you could answer or decline the call, it stopped. You swallowed down the lump that hard formed on your throat, unsure of what would be next. And soon after it stopped you got a text from her, you were about to read it when you noticed that someone was calling out for you.
“I’m sorry, what was that?” you said, quickly putting away your phone, trying to focus on your friend’s words over the loud music.
“We have to use the restroom. Let’s go,” she said, reaching out for your hand, motioning for you to tag along.
“No,” you step back, away from her reach. “I, um,” you felt your phone burning your hand. “I’m going to get some air, okay?” you noticed she wanted to say something against it, so you quickly added: “I’ll be right back, I promise,” you smiled at them, before making your way out of the club before they would follow after you.
Once the cold air of the night filled your lungs you felt like you could finally breathe properly. You looked at her missed call and her text message on your phone screen, it was simple: an address. You knew what that meant, but you weren’t sure of what you should do. As if sensing your doubt, she called you again. The phone kept on ringing in your hand, as you made up your mind.
Seeing her tonight was a bad idea, right? Yes, you might not be really drunk but the alcohol was messing with your brain and you were not thinking straight. Plus, your friends were going to kill you for meeting her.
Seeing her tonight was a bad idea, right? You weren’t just going to throw away the last year and pretend like nothing had happened.
Seeing her would be a bad idea, right? But your mind had other plans as the memories of her soft lips and her rough hands and her raspy voice all came rushing to your brain, and suddenly it was all you could think of.
Seeing her tonight…? Fuck it, it’s fine, was your only thought as you picked up the call.
“Hello, detka.”
The old pet name sent a silver up your spine, still you were yet to form a coherent thought.
“I missed you,” she paused, waiting for you to say something. “Did you miss me?” she tried again. Still, you weren’t answering her, but she knew you were listening carefully to every word. “You know? I’m all alone right now. I wouldn’t mind some company.”
You could sense the undertone she was using, you were no fool to her tactics, even though you would always fall for them. That was the kind of power Yelena had over you, everytime you would do so much as think about her your brain would just shut down and you wouldn’t be able to hear your own thoughts.
“No,” you stated firmly. Shaking your head even though she could not see you.
“Oh, baby. What’s the matter? You want me to pick you up?” you could hear the jiggling of some set of keys. Your heart stopped for a second, was she really that desperate to come and pick you up? You felt your stomach burning.
“This is… This is not right, Yelena. I shouldn't have picked up the call. I should probably not—.”
“Oh, come on, moya lyubov,” again with the russian nickname that would make your knees weak. “How about this, I pick you up, we get some coffee and we just have a quick chitchat?”
You knew that it never was so simple with Yelena, but you felt your walls crashing down.
“I’m not sure, Yel…” it felt weird to pronounce that nickname after so long.
“Look up, pretty girl.”
You felt your stomach sink as you did as you were told. And there she was, in all her glory. You didn’t even question how she knew exactly where you were, Yelena just knew stuff. You knew she was your ex, but she said it was just a quick chat, can’t two people reconnect? You knew you were stronger now to her advances, you were pretty sure you only saw her as a friend. But, in all honesty, you knew you were full of shit.
Without a word, you sent a text to your friends, put your phone in your purse and got into the car, wrecking all your plans. You knew you should just stop, but you couldn't. You cursed yourself for that, she knew you too well and you hated both yourself and Yelena for that.
As soon as you took the passengers sit, Yelena sped up the car and the two of you left the building and your friends behind.
“I did miss you, Y/n,” was the first thing she said as she rested her hand on your thigh.
She knew how much you loved it when she did that.
“Mmm,” you muttered, unsure of what your answer should be.
“Didn’t you miss me?” she jokingly asked as she gently squeezed your skin.
“What do you want, Yel?”
“I thought I told you,” she quickly took a look at you before looking back at the road. “I just want to chat, that’s all.”
“It’s never that simple with you.”
“Well, maybe this time it is. Maybe this time I want things to be different,” she smiled at you, making your heart skip a beat. She still had that kind of power over you and you hated her even more for that. But not really.
You gently shook your head. It was bad, you shouldn’t have picked up the call, you shouldn't have gotten into the car. You should have thought things more clearly before letting her into your life again.
As you were mentally cursing yourself you didn’t realise that the two of you had already made it to whatever place she had driven the two of you. Realisation hit you as you now had now idea where the fuck you were, you had no other choice but to follow her. Or so you told yourself.
Yelena opened the car door for you and stretched her hand out for you to take. Which you did, you didn’t even fight it, you longed for the contact of her skin against yours. And maybe, just maybe, you thought it would be enough, just by intertwining your fingers in between hers. But, god, you were wrong.
You knew the moment you would step through her front door all sense of reason would leave your mind, and it would only remain the lust and feel of belonging you always felt around her. And you were right, the soon you stepped in, it was like you were that same person a year ago and you had no intention in fighting your feelings, not anymore. You thought maybe you deserve it, as a reward for being all this time apart from each other.
As soon as you entered it was as if you could feel Yelena everywhere. It wasn’t just the fact that she was there next to you with her hand in between yours, but you could all also smell her scent all over her place, you could see her in the furniture she had chosen, hear her in the music that was playing, and even though you had yet to taste her lips you were so overwhelmed by her entire being that it felt as if you already had.
“So, um,” she cleared her throat as she closed the door behind the two of you, getting your attention. “Would you like some coffee…?”
“Fuck it, it’s fine,” you mumbled to yourself once more before dropping your purse and shortening the distance and crashing your lips against hers.
Yelena’s hand quickly found their way to your hips, gently squeezing your flesh earning a low groan out of you. She pulled away gasping for air but the next second her lips were back on yours. You moaned into her lips as her tongue easily slipped into your mouth and found yours to mess around with.
You felt a warm feeling in your stomach as her hands roamed all over your body leaving goosebumps on their way. Then they rested on your ass, grabbing the muscle motioning for you to jump on top of her, which you did without a second thought. The feeling became a small fire in your stomach the moment your chest was pressed against hers.
“I knew you would come back,” she mumbled in between your lips, feeling her grin into the kiss.
As a response you bit her bottom lip, not really sure what you meant by that but it felt good when you heard a low moan escape from her lips.
“Don’t push your luck,” you said once you let go of it, earning a small chuckle from her.
“Yeah, you’re right, krasotka,” her thick russian was only fuel to the growing fire in your stomach.
Her lips found the crook of your neck and she left as many bites and kisses as she pleased, leading the two of you to her bedroom. Your eyes rolled to the back of your head and your fingers found their way in between her hair.
Once in her bedroom, Yelena gently laid you on her bed. As her lips made their way down to your collarbone, her hand tugged at the hem of your dress slowly and painfully bringing it up to your waist.
On command, you spread your leg open letting Yelena’s head take the place in between your thighs. She kissed and bit them, her lips ghosted over the area where you needed her the most, but all you got was her hot breath which sent a shiver up your spine and made you groan out her name.
“Stop with the teasing,” you begged her, as your legs rested on her shoulders.
“Tell me what you need,” she breathed out.
“I need you… I need your lips on me,” it almost came out as a moan.
And she did as she was told, but it wasn’t quite what you wanted. Her lips kissed and licked your core, but it wasn’t enough since the area was still being covered by your panties. You wanted more, needed more.
“Yelena, please…” you begged her once again.
“Shh…” she cooed as her fingers tugged at the hem of your underwear and slowly pushed it out of the way. “Is this where you need my lips, malishka,” her hot breath over your now uncovered cunt ripped a moan out of your mouth.
“Yes, yes, just please do something. Please, Yel, I—,” a whimper cut you off as you felt her tongue licked up your slit. “Fuck,” you could feel your heartbeat going a mile per hour.
Her tongue went up and down a few times, tasting your juices, loving who wet you were for her. She then made sure to give your clit as much attention, so she wrapped her lips around it and sucked hard. You felt your leg trembling on her shoulders as she worked her magic on you.
“Fuck, fuck, fuck,” you were a moaning mess, the fire in your stomach felt like it was taking over your entire body and you only wanted to give in, to let it consume you whole —to let Yelena consume you whole—.
You wrapped your legs around her head, bringing her even closer to you. The thought of her suffocating on your count scared you for half a second, but then as she ate you like a starving woman, the thought only added more to your arousal.
Yelena took a quick look at you: eyes closed, lips slightly trembling and parted, brows furrowed, your leg around her head, your hand flying to meet her hair. She wanted that moment to last forever, she wanted to be forever buried in between your legs if it only meant she could see you like this. But she could not stop time and live forever in that moment, so she could only moan at your sight. And that was what it took for you to finally come undone in her lips.
You cried out her name as your leg almost squeezed her head too harshly, but she could take it. A few curses followed her name as her tongue and lips helped you right out your high.
“I missed this, malishka,” she said breathlessly as you unwrapped your legs around her.
Her nose, lips and chin were glistening from your release, you felt something like a match lighting up inside you once again. Much to your dismay she used the back of her hand to clean some of it, which she noticed that it had bothered you since you slightly frown. She chuckled at just how cute and precious you were.
She crawled on top of you, placing her knee in between your legs and her lips found yours. You moaned as you tasted yourself on her lips and tongue, feeling the fire coming back to life.
“I missed you… so much,” she said in between kisses. “Tell me… you missed me too…”
Drunk on her scent, lips and words you couldn’t think properly. But still the words you blurted out were the truth: “I did… I missed you too…”
“Then we should… make up for… the time we lost…'' she said as her hand expertly tugged down the cleavage of your dress, she smiled to herself as she realised you weren’t wearing a bra.
She trailed a path of kiss from your neck, down to your collarbone to finally end with her lips sucking your right nipple.
“Yeah, we should…” you breathed out.
“Then, we are going to be here for a while,” she said, her words were muffled by your tit inside her mouth.
You giggled at her words but then it turned into a moan as she went on sucking.
You knew the whole thing would fire back eventually, but your head was empty, blank, no reasonable thoughts. Just one that it keep you going and that was the only thought you were willing to listen to: ‘Fuck it, it’s fine.’
Yelena Belova Fluff Alphabet
Part 3. This can be read as x reader or with Kate Bishop. It can be viewed as queer platonic.I headcanon her as asexual as she is in the comics Prompt
L: Little Ones (How are they with kids?) Yelena wasn’t sure about kids outside of the Black Widow program as she wasn’t really around them too often, but her heart always hurt for them. Outside of the program, she’s quite decent with kids! She’s playful when she wants to be and is hilarious.  She’s sweet and would enjoy playing with them, but she has no desire to have children. Now, a bunch of puppies and or kittens? Hell yeah.
M: Mornings (How are mornings spent with them?) She prefers nights. She hates getting up in the morning. It was one thing when you were four, but at 26? No. Not if she doesn’t have to. If she does get up that early? It’s a labor of love. Luckily she doesn’t expect Kate to be up early in the morning, either. She prefers it to be a slow morning where she wakes up anywhere between 9-10, even 11 on her laziest relaxed days. She’ll wake up snuggled with her pillow or sometimes her partner, laying in bed as long as she can. She’ll nurse a hot cup of coffee and munch on either sugary cereal or last night’s leftovers. Sometimes, she’ll make eggs and toast or polenta, but cooking in the morning is not her favorite thing. She is not the most talkative in the morning. Once the caffeine hits her bloodstream, she’s more her peppy self.
N: Night (How are nights spent with them?) Her job often requires her to work late. Sometimes, she’s wound up after her mission and will want to go out to do something fun or will find a way to decompress with a shower. She’s fine going out at night but also having a relaxing night. It also depends on your/Kate’s day. She loves eating casseroles and watching game shows or maybe enjoying wine and a cozy game. Sometimes it’s painting her nails and watching you play a game, or even just quietly cuddling. She usually goes to bed around 11.
O: Open (When would they start revealing things about themselves? Do they say everything all at once or wait a while to reveal things slowly?) It takes you a while before you realize you don't know anything about her.  You know she’s foreign from her accent. You figure out things from her habits like sriracha and mac n cheese or her favorite beer, but her past? Nothing. She prefers to keep it that way. She will eventually let you in, but it will take a lot of patience on your part for her to reveal things about her throughout your time together.
