Me: Izuku should be shorter than Katsuki, but just a little bit, and he should be at least as muscular, if not slightly more muscular, than Katsuki. Wow, I’m being very picky about fanart.
. . . wait, what I want is just canon. 🤦‍♂️

Don't Let Me Go

For the number of people in the grand hall, it was surprisingly quiet. Little pockets of murmuring, the quiet clink of glasses against tables, ice against glass; it was quiet, but comfortably so. They all were just waiting, and were content to do so for now.
At least, until Present Mic's voice rang out over the sound system, disrupting the peace they'd all managed to make. From his corner with Eri, Aizawa just scowled at his husband, even as their daughter threw some of the last few petals she had left into the air, snickering as they stuck to his hair. She'd never been bothered by how loud her Papa could be, instead taking an almost comfort in how easy it was to find him. At least one of them was fine with it.
"Ladies, gentlemen, and all the lovely people in between! We're sorry we kept you all waiting, there was an..." He paused, clearing his throat as he tried to find the best way to phrase what was to come next. "A wardrobe malfunction that had to be addressed before we could proceed. But now, if you could please clear the dance floor, I'm happy to present, for the first dance of the rest of their lives, our lovely grooms!"
The soft song that began was almost drowned out by the cheering as Katsuki and Izuku, hand in hand, walked out in the floor. Though, really, anything short of a villain attack wouldn't have registered to them, their hands unable to leave the other as they shifted, Izuku resting his hand on Katsuki's should, Katsuki's on his waist, close together as the began to sway with the song. Not a real dance, no; neither of them had had the time to try and learn, but right then and there it didn't matter. Their slow sway as the music played around them was more than enough.
It also gave everyone time to figure out exactly what Mic had meant, eyes rolling as they took in Katsuki's lost shirt buttons, the wrinkles in Izuku's pants, the well kissed skin that showed over his collar, the light scratches that ran down Katsuki's forearms. 'Wardrobe malfunction' indeed, and if they got any worse Mitsuki herself was more than willing to try and beat some decency back into them. Not that she actually thought it would work: if shaming and, when that had failed, trying to beat some self awareness into her son hadn't worked when it came to Izuku, nothing ever would.
The smile on Katsuki's face, though, as he stared down at his husband was worth it all. All of the make out sessions and things she'd bleached from her brain she'd walked in on, all of the arguments and self-doubt and tears, every single low where she was going to finally convince Inko to help strangle them themselves. All of it was worth it right here, right now, to see them that happy.
To them, it was worth more.
"You look like a nerd," Katsuki said quietly, leaning down to press a kiss against Izuku's wild mane. His curls had been better for the actual ceremony, still soft and poofy and looking like the top of a tree, but at least a tree under control. Pinned back from his face, styled and forced into place with more bottles of hairspray than he wanted to try and count, Mina working and crunching and styling his hair until it was some level of professional mess.
That had lasted all of three minutes after they'd been left alone to change for the reception, because Katsuki would happily lose a hand before he stopped carding it through Izuku's hair when they kissed. The cute little flower pins lost somewhere, all of the work melted off as Katsuki played and twisted and pulled. To get better angles to kiss him, to pull him close, to just sink a part of him into something of his husbands when their time was limited and people were waiting.
They hadn't succeeded, had had Kirishima and Iida yelling at their door for them when the five minute outfit change had stretched out to twenty, but neither of them cared.
"I always look like a nerd, Kacchan," Izuku replied with a smile, his head leaving where it had temporarily rested on Katsuki's chest to smile up at him. At his husband.
"I know. I love it. My own personal nerd." Katsuki leaned down, pressing his lips gently against Izuku's, soft and sweet with the reminder that they were being watched. There was time later for more.
They had the rest of their lives.
"Now that we're here," Katsuki said softly as he pulled away, lightly rubbing their noses together in a bunny kiss, "I'm not planning on letting you go. You're stuck with me."
"Good." Izuku laid his head back down, eyes half closed as they swayed together to the song, staring at the matching bands that mow adorned their hands. "I'm not going anywhere, Kacchan. So don't let go. I won't either."
In their own world, neither of them noticed as the song ended, another began, their guests trickling onto the dance floor around them. For them, it didn't matter, though soon enough the dance would end and they would have to go on, greeting their guests, cutting the cake, dinner and speeches and watching as everyone around them celebrated.
But for now, they just held onto each other, and didn't let go.

It’d taken them a long ass time, but finally, they were at a theme park.
Theme parks had never been Katsuki’s favorite. They were loud, crowded, with shitty food and nowhere near enough shade to keep him from getting coated in sweat. He’d always left tired and grumpy, a sticky stinking mess, probably sunburnt because no matter how much they slathered themselves in sunscreen, he and his mom always came away from days like that red. They’d been fun for a while, when he was younger, but now he could literally fly, faster and higher than any of those roller coasters could take him, so he just didn’t see a point. Hadn’t gone since he was just out of highschool, his parents insisting they take him on one last vacation before hero work kept him too busy to do shit.
That day had been fine; he and the hag hadn’t argued much, it’d been overcast enough that he didn’t feel like a waterlogged tree by lunch. Alright, but not something he’d been interested in experiencing again.
But Izuku loved this kind of shit, saw it as the height of romance to go to a theme park together and stew in their own sweat, and well? He loved the nerd, even with all of his quirks (OfA related and otherwise), so he’d agreed. It’d taken a while to schedule, to find days off where they also weren’t on call, figure out the best time so it wouldn’t be so crowded they couldn’t move, actually buy the damn tickets, but to Katsuki’s horror, it’d been done.
Before them was one of the largest theme parks in Japan, and he’d signed up to go with Izuku.
Thank fuck they’d done their research; the park was close to empty, only locals wandering around, enjoying the lack of tourists that normally packed the place during its events and summer. The weather was perfect for this kind of torment too, just on the right side of about to rain, the sun hidden away behind the blessed cloud cover. Not too hot, meaning he wasn’t about to cause property damage, perfect for having to exist outside when all he wanted to do was enjoy his one day off and sleep.
Izuku standing next to him, bouncing with that same child-like excitement Katsuki had long since fallen in love with made it a bit worth it. Just a bit.
And as the day passed, as Izuku’s smile grew wider with every piece of fried food he insisted they eat, with every roller coaster that almost left Katsuki asleep it was so boring, with every peppy step that just made Katsuki want to smack his ass just to see how he’d react, Katsuki had to admit that it was, in its own way, fun. He enjoyed being around Izuki, no matter what they were doing, though he’d never admit it.
The butterflies in his stomach shifted slightly as Izuku smiled at him, eyes still as wide and as bright as they always were. The same eyes and happy smile that had nothing to do with the butterflies filling his stomach, the ride they’d been on had just started without his permission, that’s all. Taken slightly by surprise.
Yes, no butterflies here.
(And if little whispering wings pressed him to do something, anything, to make his feelings know, well, Katsuki would sooner set his stomach on fire than listen to them. Because he’d be damned if there was any connection to the butterflies and Izuku. There was none. At all.
Even if he did want to kiss him, still. None.)

Working night patrols fucking sucked.
After nearly two weeks of them, Katsuki had thought he would have adjusted. Night patrols were normal for heroes, all of them taking their turns without the sun, and he'd been lucky to at least grab the summer spots. Even after dark the city shimmered with heat, the buildings and streets radiating off everything they'd stored for the day, keeping his palms sweaty and his gauntlets filled, maintaining his capabilities. That, at least, had been lucky.
But he'd always been a day person, even having to drag Deku out of bed during the break mornings so they could play as kids, and that hadn't changed over the years. He rose with the sun, went to sleep shortly after it left, and only stayed awake most nights past 9 if Deku was involved in keeping him awake. Weeks couldn't replace decades of habit, leaving him exhausted and ready for his turn to be up.
The only comfort he took was the diner he went to every morning for breakfast (dinner? He couldn't keep shit straight anymore), their coffee burning hot and the chef willing (or uncaring enough of the time, same as Katsuki) to cook whatever he wanted from any of their timed menus. Part of him hated it; food too greasy, the place stinking of smoke and something that made his stomach churn, the people nice enough but still extras he'd happily trade for a few hours in bed.
The other part, the majority of himself, loved it. It was a five minute walk from their apartment, which meant every break he took to get food that would sit too heavy in his stomach let him see this.
Let him see an exhausted Izuku slumped over the booth they'd chosen as their own, snoring quietly as he waited for Katsuki to join him. The nerd had made it clear that he'd at least get up in time to have a meal with Katsuki, even if it mean throwing off his own sleep, dragging himself out of their home more often than not in the same pajamas he was just going to crash back on the couch in when he got home. If it wasn't for this, Izuku sleeping with his cheek pressed against a most likely cold cup of coffee, the neon lights from the window casting fun shapes over his drooling face, they'd never see each other, the only overlap those few precious moments between one leave and the other coming.
Katsuki had tried to tell him he didn't need to, they could not see each other for a few weeks, but he'd be lying if he tried to say he hadn't been pleased by Izuku's insistence. Because fuck did he hate night patrol, but at least this made it bearable.

Apocalypse

Genre: Angst
AN: This was written for the CASBkDk event, so each fic is based off a song by the band Cigarettes After Sex!
Words: 803
There was something peaceful about the end of the world.
Quirk Singularity. It was something they'd all heard of, some future event to fear when quirks became too powerful to control, combinations and mutations leading to stronger and stronger generations. Stronger generations that the former had no way of control, besides removing the quirks altogether; knowledge lost with Chisaki's death, not that Aizawa would have let anyone near Eri. None of them would have, had they try to come for her, dozens of heroes strong enough to stand against an army to protect her.
Not that it mattered, in the end. Their services were never needed, the commission never coming for her, because by the time she had even been an option it had been too late.
None of them knew exactly who started it. Some claimed a villain, fed up and willing to destroy the world, to die if it meant letting everything burn. Some believed it was just an accident, a child unable to control their newfound powers, abilities too great for their little body. He wasn't sure which was worse, but either way the result was the same.
"A thermonuclear chain reaction in the atmosphere," Mei had said, weeks of research and results littering the table in front of the commission, her shaking voice broadcasted and translated between the countries. "A slow one, but there. In a year, give or take, the world will die."
They'd tried, they really had. Support heroes had done everything they could to find a way to stop it, pros helping out where they could, useless in a fight without a figure. Just a slow, methodical chemical reaction none of them could grasp, could control, could even find the source of besides some random point in the Everglades of fucking Florida.
It was for naught, and now with the countdown so close to the end, the air thin even at sea level, Izuku felt at peace.
This was the end. They'd tried, so hard, but there was no escaping this ending that had been forced upon them, no turning back the clock and stopping what had begun a little over a year ago. There was only acceptance, and the arms wrapped tight around his waist as they laid in bed, waiting.
"I love you," Katsuki said again, said for who knows how many times; Izuku had long since lost count of the number of times those words had fallen from his lips, said between kisses and touches and bouts of sex, over and over and over again, trying to burn them into his skin like the air burned their lungs. "I love you, Izuku."
"I love you too, Kacchan," Izuku whispered back, their lips brushing as he raised his face from where it had been buried against Katsuki's neck. They'd already said their goodbyes to everyone else, turned down Momo's invitation to wait all together for the end so they could have their own departure. Part of Izuku was glad his mother had already passed, gone before the end of the world had begun, leaving him just clinging to Katsuki as their time slowly ticked by.
There was no one else he wanted to be with at that moment, no one else he could imagine in Katsuki's place. They'd faced so many things together, had been in each other's lives since nearly the day they were born; in their refusal to say goodbye to each other, it only made sense they clung tighter in those precious few moments they had left. Even the vestiges had gone quiet, giving them their peace after telling him he'd done his best, that it was ok for him to come join them now.
Izuku had sobbed when All Might had told him he was proud of him, of both of them, and it was okay.
Katsuki fell asleep first, finally slipping under that oppressing exhaustion that had been tugging at them, that stole the last of their words as they just laid there, staring at each other, occasionally brushing their lips together in the best imitation of a kiss their tired bodies could muster. He'd tried, Izuku knew. Tried to stay awake, tried to keep his eyes open, tried to draw in deeper breaths from too thin air to not leave Izuku alone. Still he slipped, one last kiss to Izuku's forehead before he fell still, eyes fluttering closed as his breathing evened and shallowed.
Slowed.
Stopped.
Forcing himself up, One for All pulsing through him to give him the strength to raise himself on shaking arms, Izuku kissed him, one last time. Laid his head back on Katsuki's chest like he had so many times, and closed his eyes.
There was peace at the end of the world, wrapped in each other's arms as his shallowed.
Slowed.
Stilled.

He hated when those eyes looked at him.
They were too big, too bright, too full of something that made his insides twist and churn and rebel despite his best attempts to keep calm. Too full of expectations he could never live up to, if he listened to that tiny voice that reminded him of his downfalls, his failures, every time he'd put tears in those eyes and had to face that look of disappointment. When he'd thought those eyes were looking down on him, he'd thought them taunting, and couldn't help but fold under their gaze.
But, perhaps, what was worse was the lack of those eyes. Watching them stare at other people, the same looks that had been only his for so long now shared between others no more or less worthy, but still stealing something he hated that he wanted. Because even if those eyes made him squirm, made him want to blow some shit up and make them turn away, so long as they were on him? So long as he remained their focus?
There was little that made him feel more powerful than his quirk; he literally held fire and death in the palms of his hands, stronger than the two-toned bastard who refused to accept and live with the danger. But even the surge that came with using his powers had nothing on the rush that came from those eyes staring at him, watching him like he was beyond human, when it was those stupid ass eyes that held the stars he swam in.
"Keep your eyes on me, Deku."
Because even though he hated how it felt, when they were watching him and him alone, at least he was his.

It was cute, seeing Katsuki get flustered. The tips of his ears and cheeks turned red, flush spreading down the back of his neck to disappear under the collar of his uniform, hands angrily sparking as he tried to get his feelings back under control. A side of him very few had seen before, but one that Izuku, now that he was allowed, took every opportunity to see.
“Good morning, Kacchan,” Izuku said happily, bouncing up onto the tips of his toes to kiss his boyfriend on the cheek. “You look beautiful today.”
“Oh go fuck yourself, Deku.”
Laughing, Izuku dodged the spatula hurled towards him, just managing to duck in time for the near boiling sauce to hit the wall instead of his face. Izuku knew that, were he not cooking for twenty people, Katsuki would already be in his face, most likely trying to sweep his legs out from under him as he tried to conceal his blush. Instead he was stuck at the stove, his glare half a pout as he tried to keep everything from burning. It was a little bit mean, pouncing on him like this, but Izuku couldn’t care.
He was just telling the truth.
Wrapping his arms around Katsuki’s waist, ignoring the light donkey kick to his calf as Katsuki put up the slightest bit of protest, he rested his head between his shoulder blades, breathing in the warmth and comfort that came from being so close to the boy he loved. They both relaxed against each other, enjoying the busy but quiet moment between them.
“You too,” Katsuki said quietly, softly, the affection in his voice clear. His head was half turned so he could look at Izuku over his shoulder, his smile gentle. A moment later, though, he cleared his throat, blush deepening, not even hidden by his tank top. “You don’t look like a half-chewed piece of broccoli, at least.”
Izuku knew exactly what he meant. He’d always known, in his own way, and instead just leaned back up to kiss the back of his neck.
“Love you too, Kacchan.”

Kiss It Off Me

Sato’s heart had been in the right place. Really, it had been. When the teachers had told him that he was too dehydrated and needed to find a way to increase his fluid intake while maintaining his sugar levels, his idea to buy a mini slurpee machine had been a stroke of genius. His generosity of putting it in the main kitchen and letting everyone in the class use it had gained the big guy a lot of extra points and a shit ton of goodwill during their summer training sessions.
But fuck, if Katsuki had to watch Izuku drink one more slurpee he was going to explode the machine and the fucker himself.
It wasn’t even just the fact that he was drinking so many of them, his lips and tongue taking on a tinted shade from the drink, that had Katsuki’s hands twitching at every thought of whether or not Izuku would taste like the treat. No, he had also taken to using the outside of the cold cup to cool down, pressing it against his cheeks, his forehead, the swell of his neck as his head fell to the side, drops of water rolling down his skin in a pattern Katsuki wanted to follow with his tongue. Wanted to but couldn’t, because they were in public, their classmates watching, and more importantly he had yet to tell Izuku about his feelings, so off the cuff licking was off the table.
Well, it wasn’t, everyone knew they did weirder shit in the name of their “friendship,” but still. He could just walk over and lick Izuku, and he knew everyone would just roll their eyes and go along with it, Izuku himself included. But that wasn’t what he wanted.
He wanted the nerd blushing and stuttering, too embarrassed to think because he knew what Katsuki’s actions ment. Not a fond eyeroll and a pat on whatever limb was closest as Izuku went back to joking with his nerds.
He was half convinced Izuku knew what he was doing too, as impossible as that seemed. Occasionally his eyes would flicker over to him, his genuine smile turning sly, teasing, beckening. Head tilted a little bit further to the side, their eyes meeting for a long moment before one of them finally caved and looked away, unable to hold. Izuku would turn back to his friends; Katsuki would continue to watch those droplets of water roll down his skin, quietly cursing himself, Izuku, and that fucking slurpee machine.
*~*
“So,” Hitoshi said slowly, careful to not look over Izuku’s shoulder at the obviously pinning idiot behind him, “when are you going to stop torturing Bakugou?”
Izuku just shrugged, pulled the condensation coated cup away from his skin, and took a sip to hide his smirk.

Cry

Izuku had always been a crybaby. Katsuki had just always known this as a fact - the sky was blue, the grass was green, and Izuku easily cried.
It wasn’t just one or two things that set him off either; everything was fair game for the war on the nerd’s tear ducts. Puppies yawning in the middle of a blanket nest? Soft sniffles as he wiped at his cheeks, just too overwhelmed by how cute they were. An article online about some new policy he found unfair? Angry tears as he explained, in detail, exactly how this was impacting their hero work, slowing down villain rehabilitation, and was just doing the world an injustice as a whole. Some random characters in a movie separated for a few minutes? Gods forbid they actually break up, because the moment sad violins started playing he would be bawling, clinging to Katsuki like his own world was ending.
Katsuki found it cute. Even when the two of them had been on the outs, every time Izuku’s giant ass eyes had welled up, blinking furiously as he tried unsuccessfully to keep the tears from falling, that had been the only thought to cross his mind. Cute. Before it had pissed him off; now he just cuddled Izuku closer, kissing his cheeks in part attempt to soothe, part to taste the salt on his skin and ignore the way it made his dick twitch.
Because Izuku also cried when he so blissed out he could barely speak, any words he did manage to get out random babbling that just spurred Katsuki on. It didn’t seem to matter what was going on - whether Izuku was bent over the table, leaking puddles onto the wooden top and their tiled floors; whether he was on top, chanting how good Katsuki felt around him, tears dripping from his cheeks to Katsuki’s chest below; their hands tight around each other’s dicks as they stroked each other to completion, his face buried in and wetting Katsuki’s neck as he whined and begged for them to go faster. Especially when he had Katsuki’s dick in his mouth, even just the tip had his eyes watering as he licked and sucked and toyed with him, eyes wide and glassy and too beautiful to ignore.
Izuku just always cried, and fuck if that hadn’t crossed some of his wires. He knew there was a name for it, Izuku had mentioned it once, but he’d already forgotten, instead just focusing on how to make it stop most of the time, putting the thoughts on how pretty Izuku was when he cried off to the side to deal with later.
But he was. Beautiful, especially when he cried for him.

It was the growling that set the agency on edge, deep and promising harm to any who came near. Even from the third floor, where he was instructing some of the new interns on the proper way to address a partly collapsed building, Izuku could hear it. Could feel it in the way his skin rose into goosebumps, the way he could smell his own scent spike in fear, no matter how he tried to suppress it. Thankfully none of the children seemed to smell it, too caught up in their own cowering against their chairs, eyes wide as they stared at the door, as if expecting some villain at any moment to attack.
A guaranteed loss if they did, with half the agency available to fight if it came to that, but still Izuku could understand their fears. It wasn’t often someone heard an enigma growl, not like this. Even their previous exposure to Katsuki’s barking and snarling, with no real rage behind it but still enough to cow most people, did nothing for this.
This, this scared even Izuku.
A fear he quickly pushed away, a quick look telling them to stay put as he left the room, reigning in his scent. It wouldn’t do to scare the others, wouldn’t do for him to show anything other than a smile. He could handle whatever his boyfriend threw at him, knew how to calm him down from whatever temper tantrum the number two hero was throwing, could get him home and keep him from blowing up the agency they’d worked so hard to build at such a young age. He’d done it before, had been doing it for years even before they started dating, even if this felt different, had helped Katsuki down from hard days when “every idiot under the sun wanted to cross him,” and this couldn’t be that different.
He wasn’t the number one hero for nothing.
Except the growling grew worse as he drew closer, if that was possible, sending the others around him backing up towards the upper levels, trying everything they could to get away from the source of the sound. He could hear familiar voices talking; Kirishima loud and concerned, voice tight the way it got whenever he remained hardened too long, Denki exhausted and on the verge of overload, Ochako with the waver that came with using her quirk for too long, something he hadn’t heard in a long while. Forcing back the concern he knew would seep into his scent, forcing on a professional look, Izuku walked into the lobby of their agency, prepared to help take care of whatever trouble his Katsuki had gotten into.
None of them were ready as Katsuki’s growling turned into snarls, his already heavy struggling against the chokehold Kirishima had him in turning frantic, the two of them rolling in the air where Ochako had them floating. Whenever he had a free shot Denki sent a bolt towards the enigma, forcing him to release whatever bit of skin he had managed to get into his mouth or his claws into. Even with his quirk Kirishima was bleeding heavily, cracks and tears throughout his limbs, one on his neck just barely missing something important, a fight he’d obviously been in for a while. One Izuku wasn’t sure he could win as he watched Kirishima’s grasp slip, the beta catching Katsuki just in time as he tried to lunge at where Izuku was now standing.
“Feral quirk,” Ochako explained, her voice tight as she tried to control both her stomach and her quirk. “Makes them attack everyone, try and kill their mates. You should get out of here, Deku. We can handle this until the paramedics get here to sedate him.”
A lie, if Izuku had ever heard one, though not born out of malicious intent. Danger Sense and his own experience made it clear they had a few minutes at most before Katsuki got the upperhand, overwhelming their friends and either turning on them entirely or taking off after him. Even if they could get some of the others back in from patrol, those used enough to the toxic pheromones seeping from Katsuki’s pores to stand against him, there was no saying how long it would take for them to get there. Iida and Sero would be the quickest, he and Todoroki would have the best chance, but he’d never seen Katsuki like this before. Had no clue what this would do to his strength, already enhanced by his enigma status, no idea what the lack of self-preservation in pursuit of his goals would mean.
What he did know was these kinds of quirks never lasted long, could be burned out of the victim’s system given enough time and something to focus that energy on. What he did know was it had been raining for the last few days and all that morning. What he did know was there was a small little voice in the back of his head, either some form of instinct or one of the ghosts in the vestige, he couldn’t tell, whispering to him to lead Katsuki towards the forest. No collateral damage, no civilians or heroes to interfere or come to harm, somewhere he could run circles around Katsuki until the quirk ran its course, freeing him.
Making up his mind, Izuku reached under his hero outfit and grabbed his undershirt, easily tearing the fabric where it would smell like him the most, hours of wear and sweat soaked into the cloth. Hanging it off the end of a tendril of Black Whip, Izuku powered up OfA throughout his limbs, focusing on his legs as he slowly waved the scrap in front of Katsuki.
“When I say so,” he said slowly, watching as Katsuki’s struggling stopped, eyes blown and focused on the fabric, on him, jumping between the two as Black Whip’s movement constantly caught his attention. Izuku was sure he would follow him, would leave the building at least mostly standing, and without any casualties too. Not a perfect plan, but the best he could come up with. “Let him go, and get out of the way. I’m going to take Kacchan on a little run.”
“You sure that’s smart, bro,” Denki asked, even as he moved to a corner of the room. He immediately slumped back against the wall, clearly exhausted, just making Izuku’s resolve firmer.
Instead of answering, Black Whip pressed the fabric directly over Katsuki’s nose, Izuku letting out a low, sweet croon as it did, firmly ignoring the rush of blood to his face and the blushes that covered the others. It was a lewd sound, he knew, but it was his best chance of making sure his plan worked. Slowly walking towards the door, pleased that the enigma’s eyes never left him, the automatic door opener slid open behind him, leaving the exit free. Another moment, another purr, and Izuku turned, lightning flashing through his limbs as he gave himself a fair headstart.
“Now!”
He didn’t need to be there to know what Katsuki did next; the sounds of explosions and metal twisting gave him a good enough idea, though luckily there were no pained sounds accompanying them. He took to the skies, far above the buildings and people below him, Float and Fa Jin keeping him ahead of the explosions behind, Danger Sense and Black Whip letting him adjust as necessary to guide Katsuki where he wanted him. He wasn’t sure why it was this particular forest he was drawn to, the one the two of them had spent so much of their time together in when they were younger, when any of the forested parks closer to home would have worked just as well. But he followed that draw, pushed himself that much further for that extra bit of distance, glad that it would help burn through Katsuki’s impressive stamina that much quicker.
The sooner he was exhausted, too tired for the quirk to have sway and hold over him, the quicker this could be done with.
He released Smoke Screen the moment he landed; he knew it wouldn’t do much, that it would only take Katsuki a few seconds to sort through the smoke and nature to smell him, but it would increase the amount of distance between them, give him more of an edge, let him refamiliarize himself with the woods he used to know so well. Let himself sink into the instincts that led him in fights, the training that had drilled him to avoid punches and kicks letting him avoid the tree branches and undergrowth that threatened to trip him up, leading the distant snarls deeper in.
He wasn’t sure how long they ran, how long he led Katsuki in circles, how many close calls he let him almost get to keep the enigma’s attention on him and away from the faint sounds of civilization he could just barely hear. It must have been hours, the sun sinking in the distance - an alarm when they had been young, a reminder to run back home to dinner, but now just another advantage Izuku had, his clear mind letting him move swift enough even in the dark to avoid the snapping teeth and flashing claws that tried to take him, tried to snag his limbs or stomach or once lunging at his throat in the moments he’d allowed Katsuki to get close. Izuku wasn’t sure when or why the shift happened but it was almost fun, ignoring the danger that was still present, something in him thrilling at the run, the chase, similar to the way he felt whenever they fought.
Finally, though, he could hear the exhaustion in Katsuki’s panting, see the way he was slowing, his movements sloppy, a snicker forcing itself from Izuku when he heard his love run into a tree. Without the ancient power to drive him, Izuku knew he’d be the same, but this was a thrill, something he almost didn’t want to stop. He still forced himself to slow, taking cover in the dense foliage of a tree as he waited.
Waited and was rewarded with a confused whine, Katsuki’s voice shaking as he called out. “Deku? What the fuck happened?”
Still being careful, keeping a careful eye on the enigma in case this was some sort of trick as his mind was coming back to him, Izuku used Black Whip to lower a supply pack towards where Katsuki sat, his voice firm but soothing as he spoke. “You were hit with a feral quirk. I had to run it out of you before you hurt someone. How do you feel, Kacchan?”
It took a long while for him to respond, Katsuki instead tearing apart the energy bars and water bottles inside the supply kit, his limbs slowly losing their tremor as he recovered, the quick-acting formula taking effect. It was almost comforting to sit in the silence, the snarls and growls from before now gone, replaced by their breathing falling into sync. Comforting and peaceful, though for some reason it still felt like there was some kind of tension in the air, something Izuku couldn’t figure out as he waited for his boyfriend to reply.
What he got, to his surprise, was a chuckle, Katsuki’s gaze flitting through the trees above him. Even exhausted there was a smirk on his face, something trying to draw Izuku in, the desire to kiss him only making the tension worse.
“Horny fucking nerd, I didn’t think you of all people would mistake someone going feral for a mating run.”
“Kacchan,” Izuku squawked, embarrassed now that he could smell himself, the tension coming from him. From the thrum of energy in his limbs that had nothing to do with his quirk, but instead from the little voice in the back of his head that he now knew was his own, some instinctual part that was purring at how strong his mate was, how resilient, reminding him how others would have fallen long before then. How no one else was a match for him like Kacchan was, how they’d been dating for long enough, how Izuku had been thinking about asking for the next step in their relationship for a while. How good it would feel for them to wear matching marks, how strong their pups would be, how much he wanted that claim.
So caught up in his thoughts, his embarrassment letting these thoughts spill from his lips in a quiet mutter as he tried and failed to find something to refute Katuski with, he didn’t notice when his enigma moved, climbing the tree and wrapping his arms around Izuku before he could break the train of thought and respond. It was a loose hold, though, nothing that could set off the alarms in Izuku’s head, Danger Sense quiet and calm as he relaxed back into Katsuki’s hold. He shivered at the feeling of lips trailing over the back of his neck, his head falling to the side so Katsuki could kiss at his scent gland, both of them shifting on the thick branch so Katsuki’s back was against the tree, Izuku settled comfortably between his legs, arms wrapped around his waist.
“I technically caught you,” Katsuki said, smirking against Izuku’s skin as a shiver ran down his spine. “Wanna remind me what that means?”
“You’ve proven yourself good enough for a claim,” Izuku whispered, heart pounding as Katsuki continued to kiss up and down his neck, one hand reaching back to play with the zipper of his jumpsuit. He keened at the slight nip to his scent gland - not enough to break the skin, but enough to graze it, to immediately have his dick hard and ass slick as Katsuki undid his zipper, sliding the suit from his shoulder, lips following the fabric. It was embarrassing how quickly he was responding, the tension from the not-run bleeding into his veins, under his skin, making him well aware of each place Katsuki touched him, kissed him, ran his fingertips over too many layers of cloth that separated them.
They were technically in public, anyone could find them at any moment, and what a scandal that would be - the number one and two heroes fucking in a public park, even if they were deep in it, well hidden from any casual visitors - but it seemed like neither of them could care. It only took a moment to climb-fall from the tree, and then Izuku’s bare back was pressed against the trunk, Katsuki’s arms surrounding him, one hand palming his dick through his suit, giving him something to grind against as the other wrapped around to finish pulling down the zipper, to push down his underwear just enough to free his ass.
“Up,” Katsuki panted, and Izuku’s thighs were tight around Katsuki’s waist, giving him the room he needed to palm at Izuku’s ass, to slip one, two fingers inside, to immediately press up and against the spot that made him jolt, his head tilting back, Izuku unable to stifle the moan that left his lips even if he wanted to. Noises Katsuki took notice of, driving his fingers up again and again as Izuku dripped down his hand, the tree and his free hand supporting the omega’s weight as he squirmed desperately in his hold.
“More, Kacchan,” Izuku begged, demanded, whined as Katsuki pulled his fingers away, shifting his hand down to free his own cock from his pants. Izuku clutched harder at his shoulders as he felt the tip drag over his hole, teasing him, knowing he was unable to move like he wanted to, pinned as he was between Katsuki and the tree. All he could do was hold on for the ride as Katsuki shifted his legs over his arms, holding him up entirely on his own, before thrusting forward, both of them moaning as he pushed forward into Izuku, filling his ass exactly like Izuku wanted.
“Fuck, love you, ‘Zuku,” Katsuki muttered, hunched over so he could press his face against Izuku’s neck, taking a moment to not pop his knot the second he bottomed out. Only a moment, though, before he began to thrust, a slow, deep roll of his hips that hit each nerve on the way in, that just left Izuku clinging and gasping into Katsuki’s shoulder as he was bounced on his cock, the sharp graze of bark against his back only making it better. Forcing him to focus on the here and now, not letting his brain float into and get lost in the feeling of being fucked like it often did, hearing every word whispered into his ear as Katsuki slowly picked up speed.
“The best fuckin’ mate, so strong and pretty, gonna look so fuckin’ beautiful when I put a brat in ya.”
And Izuku keened at the thought, grabbing a handful of Katsuki’s hair to yank him into a kiss, ass clenching around his dick as he sucked on Katsuki’s tongue, begging for more when they parted, for faster, harder, everything he knew Katsuki could give him. His own dick was still trapped in his suit, the movement of Katsuki fucking up into him barely enough to tease it through the fabric, but between that and Katsuki fucking him and the sweet pain in his back, the feeling of Katsuki’s mouth on his neck, sucking on his scent gland, a pressure that promised puncture with one particularly well angled thrust had him falling over that edge, coming hard in his pants as Katsuki’s knot popped into his ass, locking on the right side of his rim, his enigma coming a few moments later with a grind of his hips that had Izuku crying out because it was too much, too much that he just had to stay there and take, unable to move. Too exhausted and purring at the feeling of being so well bred, something Katsuki always did so well, the remaining thrum of the run finally dissipating now that the feeling was sated.
Only...
It took a long moment before Izuku lifted his head from where it had fallen against Katsuki’s shoulder, blinking quickly to keep back the tears he could feel gathering at the edge of his eyes. He couldn’t stop the trembling in his voice, or his lip, as he looked up at Katsuki. “You didn’t bite me.”
Katsuki carefully kissed him, slow and gentle and loving, one hand coming up to cup Izuku’s face, wiping away the moisture beginning to gather at the end of his lashes. Slowly lowering them both to the ground, settling them back against the trunk of the tree, Katsuki nuzzled into Izuku’s neck, peppering the bruised skin with kisses and kitten licks, his scent soothing as he cared for his mate. “When I claim you after our mating run,” Katsuki finally said, “I want to remember the entire thing. That ok, ‘Zuku?”
And of course it was, something Izuku let Katsuki know by pulling him back into a long, soft kiss before settling into his arms. “When,” he asked hopefully, looking up through his lashes at his enigma, the only mate he wanted in this life.
“When,” Katsuki agreed, his arms warm around Izuku’s shoulders and lower back, careful of the scrapes the tree had left. “Doesn’t matter what some shitty extra does to me, all I could think about was you. It’s very much a when, nerd.”
They would be stuck there for a bit, would have to figure out how to tend to his scraped back and make the mess of his pants somehow presentable so they could get back to the agency and file the official reports. No doubt some kind of medical attention would be required for them both, something Izuku wasn’t looking forward to; at least Katsuki’s wounds had the excuse of him being feral. Izuku’s had one clear source, and he could already imagine the look on their support hero Stitch Witch as she healed them. They would also have to talk about having an actual mating run, if they actually wanted to follow such an old tradition that was falling out of favor with people of their generation, or if they wanted to find something else for their claimings.
But for now, stuck together as they were, arms wrapped around each other, Izuku instead focused on leaning up to kiss his boyfriend, his enigma, his Kacchan, deciding to worry about the rest of it later.
