A king whose reign is coming to an end.
An heir who can’t hold the power of the rulers.
An ex assassin who desires freedom.
A prophecy that threatens them all.
This book is 5/5 stars. I would give it more. It deserves so much praise. It’s amazing!

I don’t know how to put into words how much I loved this book. It was amazing. It’s my new favorite book. If I could give it more starts I would. It has everything that I love in it.
It has badass women. Morally grey characters. It’s a fantasy world with sci-fi elements. It’s got political plotting and enemies to lovers and slow burn romance. The magic system in this books is also so interesting.
The characters are all amazing. There are so many sides of them that you get to see and it’s done on such an amazing way. They’re all so interesting. They have their own stories and character arcs. None them are simple either they all have different layers and parts of their characters. I love them all so much.
“If there was one thing he could claim, it was this: that even in the darkness of death, he would know her.”
The world building is fantastic. I loved that it’s kind of entwined throughout the entire story. You don’t get an overwhelming amount of information all at once.
The twist and turned and surprises are so good. It keeps you guessing the entire time.
*Thank you so much to NetGalley and Aparna Verma for this arc in return for an honest review. All of the thoughts in this review are my own!*

The Ones We're Meant to Find
Author: Joan He
Rating: 4/ 5 stars
Two sisters search for one another. One trapped in an abandoned island, the other in a city built to withstand the world falling apart.
I don’t usually read sci-fi, so it was a lot different from what I usually read, but I really enjoyed it.
I was confused a lot, but in a good way. There were lots of twists and turns. Anytime I thought I had things figured out, I was wrong. I was nowhere near close to guessing what was really happening. The writing was very well done. It held my attention and kept me on the edge of my seat the whole time. It was a fantastic story, especially if you like a mixture of sci-fi and mystery. The characters were writing fantastically. Joan He was able to showcase the complexity of the relationships and human nature in general.
Even if you don’t typically enjoy sci-fi, I would give this book a chance! This was a fantastic piece of work, and I will definitely be reading more by this author.

I haven’t read a dystopian book in a while, and I really enjoyed this one. I was immediately drawn in. It kept me guessing throughout. I wanted to figure out what was happening and had to keep reading. If you liked Divergent, I think you’ll like this book.

The Other Side of Magic
Author: Ester Manzini
Rating: 3/5 stars
Overall, I enjoyed this book. I thought it had an interesting plot and magic system. There were some parts that I didn’t like but there were also others I really enjoyed. The moment I started the book, I was intrigued. The first chapter was an amazing way to hook readers. I wanted to keep reading as soon as I started. The romance was cute and I think it is worth a read.
I didn’t really love any of the characters. Gaiane annoyed me most of the time. She was very naive and kind of spoiled. I do think she had pretty good character development through the book. Ampelio was okay but I also found him annoying a lot. I did like Leo. I think she was an interesting character. I also really liked Evandro. He is probably my favorite character. My biggest problem character wise is that they all seemed a lot younger than they actually are, especially Gaiane and Leo. When I realized they were actually older, I didn’t feel like it fit. I thought the magic system was interesting. However, I wish there had been more details about it and how it worked. I was hoping to get more details about it. I feel like a little more world building overall could have done the story good. The pacing also seemed a bit off at times. There were parts that were a little slow and then others seemed really rushed. I also would have liked for some plot points to be elaborated on further. I did enjoy the book overall. I thought it was a nice story, and I liked reading it. *Thank you to Netgalley and The Parliament House for this book in exchange for an honest review. Soft Thorns Vol. II
Author:  Bridgett Devoue
Rating: 3/5 stars
Thank you Netgalley and Andrews McMeel Publishing for this ARC in exchange for an honest review!! Soft Thorns deals with themes of love, sexual assault, abuse, heartbreak, and self love. I love poetry, so I was very excited to read this. I definitely enjoyed this collection. I thought it was a very good expression of the feelings that come from the above themes. I found something I could relate to in most of the poems. I really enjoyed it. I also really liked the artwork included in the book. I thought it added a nice touch to some of the poems.
