There are tecknically 4, as Saris and Elyonit are men and women (respectively) who cant have biological kids, mostly for reasons out of their will (Saris for instance was a title for male servants in the royal palace who were castrated so they dont feel sexual desire to the ladies of the royal court).

The labels of tumtum and adrogenous refer to mainly intersex people, specifically people who switched in adulthood (like that lady that was assigned male at birth and was babtised as a man only to have her first period at 13. She gave several interiews over the years). Adrogenous is refering to sexsless people, a rare genetic mutatiolln where your geetals dont develop at all.

Generally speaking, all of these genders are assigned based on a matter at hand, and how to solve issues regarding communal services as well as marriages and inheretace deals. As far as i know, they dont refer to the trans people of the jewish faith and ethnicity.

That being said, I'm still on the quest to find the answer for the trans question (it sounds so bad but bare with me on this one xD), and so far i found 1 (one! ONE!!!) person who knows the ins and out of the trans experienece and is a certified orthodox rabbi AND is in Israel AND is willing to discuss this whole thing without resorting to the easy answer of "you're a heretic get Herem'd" like all the other orthodox rabbis. However sadly to me he's still conscripted as an officer in reserves so only after the war is over I'll contat him again.

Hopefully not in a long time, I needed answers for 3 years now

wait wait ok in the tags of a post you mentioned "the Jewish genders." does Judaism have different gender concepts than like the "standard" (for lack of better phrasing)?? and is it really that many like the post says? kind of love that if so

So I may not fully remember this (because I’m tired and overworked), but in the Talmud there are six genders. @anon-e-has-a-tmblr can you please help me out here (if you know what I’m talking about at least, I don’t mind being corrected)

So yeah! The six genders. Zakhar (male) and Nekeva (female) are as you know cis men and cis women to be, and then there’s Saris, Eylonit, Tumtum and Androgynous. Do I remember which is which? Not really, but that’s honestly just a me problem. But I do count on someone to help me out here.

But yeah, we… not very officially, but we got six genders! Look at us go!

What do you do to make your matzah taste good? Like I know the classic matzah pizza, matzah brie, matzah bourekas, etc, but I need some quick and easy ideas.
