Stars have become important symbols to me ever since I got sick. I remember being in the desert, humbled by an endless sea of stars. To me, they’re guides, guardians, wayfinders, and glimpses of an ineffable mystery. It was a dream come true to learn stained glass at @johnccampbellfolkschool this past week. This is my favorite part of my final piece: a winter star in a midnight sky. Today the river fulfilled one of my lifelong dreams by introducing me to this wee salamander at the end of my river cleaning. I could feel their tiny heartbeat in my hand and felt deeply blessed. We’re moving soon (more on that later) and the hardest part is saying goodbye to my beloved forest and river. So I borrowed a page from @misswondersmith ‘s book and asked for some help looking after them (though my gifts were far less elaborate than her beautiful art). We were recently adopted by this sweet little forest cat and finally brought her inside. Meet Nimue, named after the Lady of the Lake in keeping with our Arthurian cats (Nimue, Arthur, and Camelot, Daniel’s childhood cat). She’s such a gentle, loving cat and we’re so happy to have her as part of our little family 🐈‍⬛🐾 #p>
