Chapter 5: The Death Of A Master

Before she could move - before she could even protest - Vader’s lightsaber moved - yet before it hit him, Obi-Wan faded away into the Force. Only leaving behind his cloak and lightsaber.

She didn’t think. She didn’t think about how Obi-Wan sacrificed himself for them, or the fact that Vader’s lightsaber never made contact. All she could think was that Darth Vader had killed her father.

Anger filled her. Red hot blinding anger. The kind of anger she hadn’t felt since she had seen the ruins of the Jedi Temple nearly twenty years ago. The light seemed to have gone out from the galaxy now that Obi-Wan was dead. Luke and Leia were there, that was true, but at that moment she did not feel them. And for this dark moment - the light had gone from her as well.

Grim reached out with the Force and Obi-Wan’s lightsaber came flying into her hand. She ignited the blue blade and switched it into the reverse grip. She activated her own lightsaber next, and then - not caring of the consequences - she leapt up to attack Darth Vader.

“I think we took a wrong turn,” said Luke.

Stormtroopers began to fire at them and Leia slammed the door shut. “There’s no lock!”

Luke shot the controls. “That should hold them for a while.”

“Quick we’ve got to get across. Find the controls to extend the bridge,” said Leia.

“I think I just blasted it.”

“I have an idea on how we can get across with it, but I need you to trust me,” said Grim.

“Well, what is it?” asked Leia.

“I can use the Force to throw the two of you across.”

“What about you?” Luke asked.

Chapter 3: Old And New Friends

“You know between his howling and your blasting it’s a wonder the whole station doesn’t know we’re here!” He snapped at Han, as he took off his stolen helmet.

“Bring ‘em on! I prefer a straight fight to all this sneakin’ around,” he snapped back.

“Me too, but to do so in this situation would be unwise,” said Grim calmly, at last revealing her presence, as they hadn’t seen her enter the room.

“Who are you, Lady Purple?” Han asked, eying her armor.

“A friend,” she replied. She looked at Obi-Wan and nodded at him, giving him a sad smile. “Hello there, Master.”

Obi-Wan smiled at her. “Grim, it’s been some time. What brings you here?”

“Same as you, in a way.”

That told him all he needed to know - once again she had seen this before.

Chapter 2: A New Hope

She was cut off with a warning in the Force. Then it happened.

There is something different about watching things happen in real life and watching things happen in fiction, Grim learned this lesson a long time ago. Yet, nothing could have possibly compared to what she has just witnessed now, not even watching Anakin burn alive on Mustafar.

The green rays fired from the Death Star, converging into one giant laser, aimed directly at Alderaan. In a single instant the world exploded. This was followed by a sudden emptiness in the Force that she hadn’t felt since Order 66. Except, it was different, it had all gone out in one moment. During Order 66, it had been slow, here, it had taken only a second.

She wanted to scream, but found herself unable to. She knew it was going to happen, she knew she couldn’t stop it-
