Hey gang! River Babble here! [Insert obligatory “Im not dead” reassurance.] Some quick updates for yall who are still hanging around (thanks you’re awesome!):

Yes, I do plan to continue IANAA someday (AND DO ALL THE PATREON CAMEOS IM SO SORRY FOR THE WAIT YOU GUYS) No, I still don’t have that day nailed down, although I have slowly started finding excuses to draw Sales and the gang again, which is a step in the right direction!

My cat Shuri is COMPLETELY healed AND all her fur grew back on the shave site!

I have an editing job and a HOUSE now! Which I am currently not staying in because freakin MOLD likely caused by a leak in the basement gave me a rash and I had to flee until I can get the issue fixed. (I am fine! My parents lent me a guest room and I have medicine! And I work from a laptop, so that’s easy to accomodate.)

On those notes, because I’m in the mood to draw MLP and because it’s a nice way to recoup a little of the bills related to the annoying mold issue, I am currently open for commissions! Just character sketches or inked lineart right now, as I don’t have the bandwidth to color on my laptop or do backgrounds. I offered on my Discord first, but I wanted to share it here, too, in case anyone else wanted a shot at a slot. :) PM me if interested!

Pricing: $10 for sketches, $20 for inked, $5-$10 extra for props or fancy outfits, depending on complexity. A second character in the same scene gets a $5 discount, so long as they are interacting.

Inspired by my Wasteland Timeline where Salespitch’s dad Sales Patter broke his horn, @reversal-mushroom wanted to see what Sales Patter would look like in Tempest’s role and Storm King armor. I must say this was fun to draw and I rather think he pulls it off. :D

That’s really awesome! (Againagainagain, this was NOT an urgent need, just an unexpected hit to my finances. I didn’t want anyone sending money out of the fear that I was in danger, I am doing fine!)

Shuri is doing MUCH better, by the way! You’d hardly know she was still recovering from broken ribs if not for the shaved patches that still need to grow back (and a knobby spot where one of the ribs healed oddly, but it doesn’t seem to bother her). She’s an absolute sweetheart and I’m glad I could afford to get her fixed up, but thank you again for your help in recovering the expense!

Ooo is there lore for Miss Proxy? Because she looks really cool

Hey all! Happy New Year and thanks for your continued patience on my massive hiatus. I'll keep ya'll updated when I am up for continuing the storyline!

To answer this Ask, Proxy Server was the mascot for the 2020 Online Trotcon event! I'm not sure if she has detailed lore beyond that but if she does, the Trotcon staff would know it better. She and the bytechillas were very fun to draw a comic for. =D

Speaking of comics, I shall now show you all the particular panel that has been the bane of my existence for literal months and is one of the major roadblocks to my continuing the next comic of IANAA:

On the one hand, I'm really pleased with it, it's looking lovely. On the other hand, I dON'T WANNA RELINE ALL OF THAT

(Also I will need to add some background characters. I just... I just needed a break XD Expect a continued lack of really detailed backgrounds after I get through this challenge, I am glad I can do decent backgrounds if I try but they take me SO LONG)

A fun jokey post today after yesterday’s distress! Chewie here gets special exemption on the grape juice because she is a vampiric chinchilla for a day!

L’il IANAA Mod Update

Hey gang! I wanted to give people an update on what’s going on with me and why updates are so slow.

Basically, this last month has been BUSY. I'm 5 weeks into my new job, which is going well, but adjusting to the new schedule is tough and I'm often really tired afterwards. On top of that, we've been getting our 4H club ready for the county fair every weekend, a fair that is going on all this week. Then, this coming weekend, we're all going straight to a family reunion and then family vacation. Sadly I'm just not going to be able to finish the next update in time for this month, and it's probably going to continue to be slow going for the foreseeable future. 

That said, I want to assure people that I DO plan on continuing it; I want to, at minimum, finish the Poison Joke arc. Also I am hoping to find time to stream again before vacation and at least finish up my art fight pieces.

Thank you all for your patience. I feel guilty not updating more often for you guys, but I'm trying not to beat myself up because real life is real life and I want this to be something I do for fun, not an obligation I dread because I’m not meeting some nebulous schedule. And I really appreciate that people are still enjoying the comic.

Why is Salespitch a god?

Sorry, I'm not sure if this was an Ask like you want the characters to answer, or if you're asking for more information about the story. If it's the first, please submit it again since I just ruined your ask with this reply XD;

If it's the first, the joke of the comic is that he LOOKS like an alicorn but actually isn't one (pegasus/unicorn genetic glitch), he's just a normal salespony who has to deal with constant misunderstandings by people who haven't heard of his extremely rare condition. There are ponies in Equestria who consider the immortal alicorns to be gods/goddesses, and this little group of cultists believes Sales is an alicorn and thus also a god. They wear blue ties like his favorite tie and those dumb hats and some of them are pretty harmless but there's the occasional crazy like we see here. Sales is not a fan of them and does his best to dissuade everyone from thinking he is a deity/royal or trying to impersonate a deity/royal. He just wants to sell you quality products, dangit.

Well it’s a BIT late, but here at last is the piece I did for @annualponyprom, featuring my not-an-alicorn boy Salespitch and @ask-lotustiarra! Sales is not pleased to have his and his date’s nice evening spoiled by this nonsense. XD; Fortunately, Lotus is very understanding and willing to help him hide while Prom Security takes care of the uninvited guest.

(For those not in the know, Sales has a genetic condition that makes him LOOK like an alicorn, but he isn’t actually one. This does not stop certain alicorn worshippers from making assumptions, however. Or disrupting Sales’s attempts to have just ONE normal night out in public.)

I really like how this piece turned out! I think leaving the ponies unshaded was a good call, makes them pop more against the backdrop. I am also strangely happy with how the spilled drink looks. XD; I hope I got Lotus’s dress colored right! And Sales is looking quite dapper despite hiding behind a tree =D

Lotus Tiarra and her dress design belong to the mod of @askemerisemerald and @ask-lotustiarra. Sales and the three background ponies belong to me. Happy Prom, e’rbody!

Hello all! My apologies that there isn’t a new update this month; last month was full of many things that had me not in the right mood for drawing updates (although I’m proud of myself for at least sketching out the hardest panel - it’s in TOWN OH DANG SO MANY LINES). But I thought ya’ll might enjoy this new image I drew for the Webtoon page! I’m really pleased with how it came out. ^^

Other exciting news: I am finally employed again! And as a copy-editor! I am really excited about this, you guys; I just finished my Editing Certificate through the University of Chicago because this is the kind of work I really want to do. And so far (this is my first week) everyone I’m working with seems really nice and friendly and competent! It’s nice to have a consistent schedule again, too, and I HOPE (can’t guarantee, but hope) that this will lead to me feeling stable enough to enjoy drawing more consistently again!

I will also have at least one more art post coming up soon as I and the mod of @askemerisemerald have partnered up to send Salespitch and Lotus Tiarra to Pony Prom. That’s coming up this weekend, oh dang!!! I’ve done two streams working on my part so far and will probably do another Thursday or Friday, I’ll be sure to pop a stream link on here. But if you can’t make it, I hope everyone has a GREAT 4th of July weekend! (Or just a great weekend if you aren’t in the States!)
