Those were words I spoke to myself last night before the name of the car crash victim from Trenton, Michigan was announced.

Epouvantail, otherwise known as Jessie Winterholler, or 2P France, was hit by a car last night and died on the Three-Mile Road late Friday night.

She was my friend.

She was a well-known member of the Hetalia fandom.

And I just don’t want to believe this is true.

Dziady

I know that tomorrow’s Halloween, but this is too mainstream so I won’t describe it, ha! So hipster. Anyway, the Slavic people (particularly Poles, Ukranians and Belarusians) also celebrate (well, maybe it’s not that popular to celebrate, but it’s still a tradition) their own festival of the dead during the night of October 31st to November 1st. Wikipedia says that: “Dziady was an ancient Slavic feast to commemorate the dead. Literally, the word is translated as “Grandfathers”. It was held twice every year (in the spring and autumn). During the feast the ancient Slavs organized libations and ritual meals. In local mythologies such feasts were organized both for the living and for the souls of the forefathers who joined the dziady after dark.” That’s true and I have nothing to add.

((I cant believe how bad the damage is. All these trees are down and Ive been without power for 3 days. This hurricane was definitely underestimated. ))

(( Thankfully, all the trees in my neighbourhood are relatively old, so aside from a handful of fallen branches, no trees fell around here.

I can say for sure that this is the first time living in Manhattan has been inconvenient. At least Bloomberg had the foresight to basically shut down the city and declare evacuation zones, otherwise things woulda been a lot worse.

I do hope you get your power back soon, though! ))

(( Aaaaand we're still the only ones in the entire neighbourhood with power. We have a friend camping out in our living room to charge her phone right now.

I'm pretty sure this is the most underestimated hurricane we've ever had. 22 people are dead and 2 million + people are without power. This is really poop.

At least we don't have school. ;n; ))
