It actually reminds me of that Richard Price's writing tip, which says "The bigger the issue, the smaller you write. You don't write about the horrors of war. You write about a kid's burnt socks lying on the road..."
I think the same can be said about love, especially when you want to tell a story about grandiose feelings between demigods that has lasted millennia. You can have your characters kiss throughout the whole movie and profess their love to each other all the time but the most impact will be achieved through small intimate gestures like touching their hand, leaning toward each other, and finding their eyes when they're surrounded by other people.
Like for instance, Thena and Gilgamesh have arguably some of the strongest feelings (platonic or romantic, it doesn't matter) toward each other. They were ready to die for each other, but, most importantly, live for each other for eternity. However, for the most part, you can see them being quiet about it and quite often they communicate non verbally. They exchange meaningful looks and, generally, don't speak much. They didn't need to scream about their love or have a huge event celebrating it for us to notice their feelings (not that there's something wrong with having a wedding, just saying). Moreover, the quieter they are about it the more believable their feelings are. They've known and loved each other for centuries, it's no wonder they don't need words to understand each other anymore because they were all said at one point or another. Now it's all about enjoying each other's company and feeling comfortable.

It’s the intimacy. It’s the slow burn.

Can you imagine? Messi was so happy during the international break. We saw pictures of him smiling and having fun with his teammates almost every day.
And then they went and won Copa America by defeating their long rivals in the final. The way they celebrated was incredible. The way the whole world was happy for them. And how every teammate went up to Leo and hugged him. Afterwards, Leo was even active on social media, had a fun little vacation with his family...
And all it took to have all of that in shambles is one step on Barcelona's soil. He just came back and suddenly it's all ✨drama✨ and stress again. Some mind games, manipulations, and business deals between the club and La Liga...
Like could you maybe give him just a bit more time to enjoy his win with the NT?? Or better yet not use your greatest player's contract as some kind of leverage?
He was supposed to say his goodbye at Camp Nou, filled to the brim with fans, screaming his name. There were supposed to be his old teammates watching him play one last time, wearing no.10 shirt. There should've been a standing ovation and tons of tears.
But, no. Instead, he's leaving because of some people's huge egos and stupid financial decisions. Without a chance of saying a proper goodbye to the fans.
This is not how it should've happened.
This is not how that story should've ended.

“I think it's funny how people talk about our league. They mostly look at the results that we have every weekend, which are big numbers, and just assume that it's because everyone is so sh*t,” Graham Hansen says. “But the fact is that people are not sh*t - we are just really, really good."

Well, the day has come.
Tbh, our defense worries me a lot. No Pique and Araujo means that we are very vulnerable at the back.
And today we cannot concede.
Although my blaugrana heart is still nurturing a little thing called 'hope', my brain tells me that remontada is practically impossible.
But maybe they can win this match. Not the stage, but just one single match. That'd amazing. But if they don't, I won't even be mad or surprised. We'll carry on and fight for the remaining titles.
Finally, we have a president and a new course of action. Changes are coming. Let's hope for the best.

Reblogging this cause I know it won't be repeated. The problem is Barca is not that team anymore, and they don't have Lucho.
First, you can see a clear difference in their attitude. Koeman plainly expressed his doubts about Barca winning the second leg. While Enrique had that drive and confidence to claim that, hell no, we can score more. We are better than that. And he could transmit that confidence to the team. I'm sorry, but if your coach doesn't believe in you, it's over.
Also, Koeman isn't good at tactics. Barcelona can win matches only thanks to the class superiority and individual skills when playing against weaker teams. But big matches against strong teams aren't won by individuals, they are won by tactics and strategy.
Secondly, don't forget what type of players we've got right now. Yeah, there's promising youth, but that's the thing. They need time and practice to grow. They are not ready to carry the team right now. Plus, don't forget that MSN and Iniesta were there during that match. The team Barca has right now is a divided mess. They are not capable of that type of comeback.
Thirdly, in 2017 it was Camp Nou. And not just Camp Nou but one roaring with fans. The magic of home stadiums such as Enfield and Camp Nou doesn't work as it used to because there's no crowd chanting for the teams anymore. Still, performing such a huge comeback on a foreign soil is even harder.
So yeah, I'm pretty sure we won't see another remontada. But I will support these idiots till the end. And will hope to see their fighting spirit back.
I'm ready for a loss, but I'll be devastated if they don't even put up a decent fight.

❝Faith is the word that best defined what happened tonight. Above all, this is a victory of faith. The faith that the players showed and the faith that the supporters showed. Normally, with ten minutes to go, people would be leaving the stadium, but tonight no one did. If any of them did leave, screw them, they’ve missed out on a historic night.❞ — Luis Enrique
