Could I request something from your mitski lyric prompt thing with Lindir? 'i think my body is falling in pieces' & 'honey, look at me' (Maybe something like reader has chronic pain but hides it most of the time? idk as long as it's mostly fluff I'm happy) [gender neutral or he/him reader]

he's not oblivious ── quite the opposite actually, he notices the little things ( the dark circles beneath your eyes, the tightness of your brow, the scrunching of your shoulders, the deep, drawn-out sighs ) and it brings a frown to his lips. you hide it well, he supposes, enough that a stranger wouldn't think twice, but he's hardly a stranger. he'll say nothing for a few days; maybe he's overthinking, overreacting ( overprotective ) until he finds you too weak to get out of bed, which confirms his suspicions.

i think my body is falling to pieces, it's the first time you've ever admitted to him that you're struggling, and the moment is bittersweet ── he's glad that you're starting to open up about struggling ( trusting him ) but reality settles in soon after, and he's left with the hollow realisation of knowing that you're in pain, but not being able to do anything about it.

he'll go to elrond, confide in him as much as you're comfortable sharing, and learn all that he can to help you ( he'll spend his time hunched over books and scrolls in the library; medical texts, botanical ── anything that he thinks might help him find a way to make you feel better ). he'll learn to brew herbal teas, make you cooling pads, and bring you your favourite meals when you're bedridden, he's incredibly attentive.

on particularly hard days, where your vision blurs, stomach churns and head pounds, he'll sit by your side, holding your hand ── honey, look at me, he'll whisper as you struggle to breathe through the pain, soft hands caressing your forehead; he knows that there's nothing he can do to take the pain away, but he hopes that knowing that you're not alone will bring you a small amount of peace.

i've answered this question, in this post!

there's no particular reason for my choices, other than that they're a selection of my favourite characters: idril, fëanor, beleg, melian and maglor.

the age old question of, what is tom bombadil?

💀: you have a "get out of jail 'doomed by the narrative' free card" who do you give it to?

gwindor is perhaps the most tragic characters in the entire series: his brother was dismembered in front of him, his understandable reaction caused the battle of unnumbered tears ( and morgoth's control of the north in its aftermath ) he was captured, enslaved and tortured for fourteen years. upon his return, he was shunned for his 'weakness', and his disability, his betrothed, finduilas, fell in túrin, who would eventually cause his, and many others, death and his final act was to entrust túrin with finduilas' safety, which he then failed to do.

🌟 for the ask game?

🌟: which of the valar do you feel the most affinity for and why?

in all honesty, this is possibly my favourite question on the list, so thank you for sending this one in! the creation of art ( specifically of poetry and music ) in periods where i've lacked a sense of control has always been a comfort of mine, and so i'm going say aulë. i found small glimmers of myself within him ── his desire to teach, to craft and create, and to share his love for the world with others. i also find his relationship with power an interesting aspect of him too; of all the valar, he was perhaps the closest to eru in terms of his ability to create life, through him was learnt the skills needed to create the silmarils and the two most powerful maiar ( mairon and saruman ) were followers of his before they were corrupted, despite the fact that he himself, was incredibly compassionate.

i'm quite torn on this one actually, as i like a couple of them ( particularly fëanor ) but i'm going to go with fingon. his life, to me at least, summarises the noldor as a people ── his bravery, his strength, his tragic end. his relationship with maedhros has always struck a chord within me too, the lengths he went to rescue him and the healing it brought.
