It was here, your first celebration of Durin’s Day! Like, ever. In reclaimed Erebor, where you were now living, with the dwarves.
It was a year ago, when Thorin killed Azog, but it seemed to be much longer time ago. Ever since then, you were rebuilding Erebor and Dale and it was all almost done, so Thorin and Bard decided to celebrate this day.
Many older dwarves said the town looked similarly to the state before Smaug, but you were sure it was even better than before.
And not just because of your two partners in crime, Fili and Kili, who could make everything instantly better, though many would say you three were acting like a children.
A/N: I feel
like I can’t write angst or just any other genre than fluff, because it comes
out as a fluff anyways. I prepared angst, came out as fluff. Also, I try to
write for ther characters, but then I think of Kili again and it’s just
like…no. Alright then. Let’s roll with it.
It was another day at the quest. You, thirteen dwarves, and a
wizard. No, this isn’t a beginning of a joke, that was your everyday reality
now and for following few months.
You were traveling from your home village to Rivendell. Gandalf
found you and picked you up, because you lost your way. He talked with you for
a while then, and when he found out where you were going, he offered you to
join a thirteen dwarves and a hobbit on a journey to reclaim Erebor. And that’s
how you ended up with the Company.
It was a nice, sunny day. It wasn’t too long after the journey
started, and you were having a stop for the night a bit earlier.
You grinned madly at the sight of butterflies and flowers in
bright colours. You stood in this meadow, looking curiously at the sight
around, and remembered, how often you thought about how it’s going to look like
in Rivendell, because of all of those stories that were told in your village.
You considered this meadow as beautiful. So, how does the kingdom of elves
looks like then, if ‚words cannot
describe the beauty and delication of all those elves‘?
Fili and Kili were sitting behind you, partly because they were
keeping an eye on you, and because it was a nice time, to finally rest. Most of
the dwarves were futher away. Maybe they found a small river and decided to
take a bath.
Kili looked up at you, afternoon sun making his eyes closer to
colour of a dark caramel, rather than a chocolate. You didn’t noticed that,
though. You were concentrated on the land around.
Fili nudged his brother, and Kili’s eyes averted from you to his
Warnings: mentions of a fight, stalker things, bad writing because I was rushing
A/N: I don’t know what I was thinking… but here is a silly Kíli fic. I reposted this a couple of times because it didn’t show up in the tags at first. I apologize to my followers for the “Stalker”-spamming (although it fits the theme, doesn’t it :))
“You did not!” you gasped, looking up from your book and staring at your other half. Kíli just stood there, silently pleading with his eyes for you to let this go but you weren’t going to. Not this time. He couldn’t say he didn’t expect this reaction.
“Kíli, you already had a council meeting today and every day for the last three weeks! Can’t you sit this one out? You promised!” you complained. You had every reason to complain; he and his brother, uncle and some members of the company had been trying to renew trade agreements and other important things with nearby kingdoms for the last couple of weeks. They weren’t going according to plan and he spent more time in the royal halls than he did with you. You understood how important this was for him, and that he had to be there as the Prince of Erebor but weren’t you important too?
To make it up to you, Kíli promised you’d have a quiet evening tonight, just the two of you. But you guessed those plans were cancelled now… “I know, amrâlimê. Trust me, I know and I’m truly sorry… But you know how uncle gets when these things don’t go as planned. Dain isn’t cooperating at all, they’re both so stubborn! Fíli is trying really hard to compromise but you know he can’t do anything without me there,” he smiled trying to lighten the mood.
„Don’t worry! I will, amrâlimê!“ A smirk stretched across his lips and started running towards you. You squealed, then giggled, and runned over the corner.
The stone halls made your steps sound really loud when they were empty, but now, with guards and maids, walking there all the time, the sound melted intothe others. However, your running and madly laughing figure was hardly un-spotted.
You looked constantly over your shoulder, soft giggle escaping your lips. Kili was quick, but at this time, the guards were changing, so he had to slow down a bit, sometimes, to not to crush with them. You knew how and where to turn and where to step, so you were fast on your feet and didn’t needed to slow down.
It gave you some time before he will eventually catch you.
Type: Imagine Pairing: Kili x reader
Summary: post BOTFA, everyone lives!AU, in which Y/N, a girl from Rohan seeking shelter in Erebor, befriends the Princes, and the mischievous Kili needs better ways of confessing his feelings. Warnings: ‘fuck’, ‘shit’ Word Count: 2735
All italicised, non-English words are in Khuzdul, one of the main Dwarvish languages.
Y/N was no stranger to being alone, nor was she unused to being unusual. Being on the run from a dangerous league of hunter assassins that were sweeping through her hometown of Rohan, spending months trying to reach Erebor, the Mountain of Gold, then arriving only to be turned away, had taught her not to care too much about loneliness.
Sure, she’d been allowed in eventually, after she’d insisted to the stingy King Thorin Oakenshield that she had ‘absolutely no fucking interest in your goddamn gold’, but the reminder that she wasn’t wanted in Erebor still stung dully day after day, even as she attempted to bury the emotion beneath layers of stone.
Although, she was no longer completely shunned while in Erebor. The first few weeks had been difficult, especially as she was at least eight inches taller than everyone else, even as a relatively short human - Y/N was surrounded by Dwarves, and it was a transformative experience (she enjoyed being tall for a change).
But as time went on, the Dwarves became far more accepting - mostly because when Bard visited with his children, Sigrid and Tilda (who was the reason they were there, to say hello to the ‘lucky Dwarves from the toilet’, namely Dwalin, her favourite) and saw her, he spouted a whole speech on the helpfulness of humans in the Battle of the Five Armies, especially how a number of them had charged Azog’s numbers, saving the line of Durin. That made Thorin begrudgingly become kinder to her.
Y/N spent most of her days outside the cold fortress, reading old books on Dwarven culture and their previous interrelations with other relations on the ramparts or the grasses below the Mountain. It was on one of such days that she ran into someone who would change her life.
Well, Y/N didn’t run into him.
He really ran into her.
Y/N had been sitting on the ramparts, her legs swinging over the side and continually tucking her h/c hair behind her ears as the wind blew it into her face. A large book with a f/c leather cover that had stood out to her in the towering shelves of the Library was sitting in her lap, gold-leaf lettering across the front of it boldly proclaiming ‘A History of the Honourable Line of Durin’. She’d been told by Balin (a frequenter of the Library) that it was updated often with the latest triumphs of the youngest of the Line of Durin: Thorin, Fili and Kili, the Royals Under the Mountain.
Y/N wouldn’t lie, she was mostly reading it to make fun Thorin, but then again, history was interesting.
She looked up from a particularly hilarious passage about Thorin’s ‘incredible bravery and innumerable acts of service to the Throne of Erebor’ at the harsh cry of a raven. It circled around her, cawing enthusiastically with something less akin to malevolence and more to happiness in its black eyes, before flying off.
Y/N had been smiling but she frowned when she realised that the raven was not flying towards Erebor, as most did, but away from it.
Then it had to be flying away from something … Y/N connected the dots just as the door to the battlements whipped open and something slammed into her back just as she was turning around, knocking her off the ramparts.
She screamed loudly, looking at the ground beneath her and envisioning the fifty different ways she would splatter all over it.
A hand encased in a brown glove but for the fingers suddenly swung into her view, catching ahold of hers in a startlingly tight grip.
Y/N looked up, seeing a Dwarvish face that was at once familiar and entirely seperate from her small existence in Erebor, and she couldn’t put a name to him.
His brown hair reached just past his shoulders, and was not braided. Paired with his beardless, kinda attractive face (stubble did not count in Y/N’s eyes), Y/N reached the conclusion that he was still young, definitely under 100.
He was holding onto her with one of his hands and his other was held by a blonde Dwarf with much more facial hair than the former and a messy blonde mane like a lion who stood behind the battlements where she had been sitting prior to being knocked off by (presumably) one of the two.
Y/N was very impressed that the Dwarf was holding her up with one hand, as she was at least more than half a foot taller than him, but she had no energy to be focused on that emotion beyond the hot fear coursing through her veins.
“Oi! Pull!” the brown-haired Dwarf yelled, and the blonde did so, clenching his teeth and heaving, until all three of them were safe on the ramparts.
“I am so sorry for my brother’s clumsiness, Miss Y/N!” the bearded, seemingly older Dwarf apologised.
“Itkit! (Shut up!)” the younger brother hissed, giving the blonde a scathing glare. “But I do apologise, Lady Y/N.” He emphasised the title he gave her, though it was definitely not one she actually possessed.
“I’m sorry,” Y/N replied to the two enthusiastic Dwarves with confusion etched all over her face. Here they were, having knocked her off the side of a fucking Castle, calling her ‘Lady’ and apparently knowing her name when she could not match a name to either of their faces. “How do you know my name? Do I know you?”
“Oh, that’s right,” the brunette said thoughtfully, turning to his brother. “Uncle Thorin said she was new.”
“He also said she was a-”
“Oh Mahal, shut up! How many languages do I have to say that in?”
Uncle Thorin? Oh shit ….
“Anyway. Prince Fili-”
“-and Prince Kili-”
“At your service!” they both chimed, bowing low in unison and springing back up with wide grins that made them seem a lot younger than they probably were.
“Fuck…” Y/N muttered under her breath, curtseying as low as she could. “My Princes, I apologise-”
Her embarrassed apology was cut short with a squeak flying from her mouth as she was yet again jerked up by Kili, who brushed off her f/c dress that was dirty from falling off the ramparts.
“Lady Y/N, you needn’t apologise; it is technically my fault for knocking you off the walls of Erebor!”
“Then you needn’t call me Lady Y/N,” the girl retorted, almost instantly regretting the familiarity with a royal figure, but also proud when Kili gave a loud laugh and wide smile. “I’m just Y/N.”
“Alright then, Just Y/N,” Kili teased, wiggling his eyebrows and taking her hand, kissing it gently. “On behalf of the Prince of Erebor-”
“-Princes, you little shit,” Fili interrupted, casually spinning a knife on his fingers.
“… Princes of Erebor,” Kili rolled his eyes. “Welcome, new friend.”
“You two are unbelievable,” Y/N complained, though a wide smile was affixed on her face.
“We know,” Fili and Kili replied, both still covered in flour from when they’d begun to throw it like snowballs in the middle of baking with her.
“Well, at least we salvaged-” Y/N cut herself off as she took the cake out of the oven. “Mahal. What is that?”
The cake was less a cake, and more a complete mess. Half of it looked gooey and porous, and the other half burnt. Y/N just turned to the brothers, raising an eyebrow.
They eyed each other too, shuffling their feet.
Y/N sighed. “This is why we don’t have food fights in the kitchen, guys.”
Fili and Kili had the decency to look a little sheepish as Y/N turned to dump the mess in the bin. As she did so, she glanced out the window and flinched.
“Shit! I’m meant to meet Bard soon - it’s a meeting of great importance. And I’m not ready, there is flour everywhere, my hair is a mess-”
“Well, we can handle at least one of those things,” Kili told Y/N, lightly pushing her into a chair, his hands clean of flour now. “I know a really good hairstyle for special occasions - our mother used to wear it.”
He began to run his fingers through her hair, gently untangling the knots with a brush Fili gave him (honestly, how much did that Dwarf have in his coat?) and braiding it. Y/N closed her eyes, enjoying the feeling of his hands in her hair and its soothingness. Suddenly, she opened her eyes, flushing red.
Was she falling for the Prince of Erebor?
No, surely not. After all, he was a dwarf, and she a human: a human the King of Erebor didn’t exactly have a partiality towards. It would never work out.
That doesn’t mean feelings just stop, dumbass. Y/N’s brain reasoned. She rolled her eyes at herself.
“Alright, it’s done! And Fili and I will clean up the kitchen,” Kili announced, pulling her up and lightly dusting off her f/c dress, careful to avoid any areas it was improper to touch, a small hint of pink on his cheeks as he did so. Y/N pulled some of her hair around her shoulders - Kili had done several braids amongst her loose hair, most of them tied with black bands but one with a beautiful bead in it that she didn’t get a proper look at.
(A/N - imagine this hairstyle, but only one bead, and that bead has lots of jewels all in different colours)
“We’ll clean up what?” Fili protested. Kili smirked, pushing her out the door.
“We’ll see you later, Y/N!”
Y/N ran as fast as she could, considering her annoyingly impractical skirt, and she finally skidded to a stop in the snow outside the great doors, taking in who was there.
Bard bowed his head in greeting, his eldest daughter, Sigrid by his side. (Y/N had thought she had heard faint giggles from inside, meaning Tilda was hanging out with Dwalin again), Thorin stood impatiently, leaning on his sword, and next to him, keeping a petty distance was …
“My lord Thranduil,” Y/N bowed, having also read all about the infamously glamorous Elvenking of Mirkwood. “I apologise for my tardiness.”
“You are on time, Y/N,” Bard said, giving Thorin a side-eye. The damages of the Battle of the Five Armies went far beyond death.
Thorin chose to sit on a ledge that a) placed him higher than all of those present and b) allowed him to rest. Recovering from being impaled by the Pale Orc was a lengthy process, and one still far from finishing.
“What is the importance of this meeting?” Y/N asked, eager to go back to her chambers and think on the startling discoveries she’d made on what her heart told her about Kili Durin.
“The purpose, Y/N, is for this …”
After the meeting, Y/N went to leave, but Thorin called her name, stopping her.
“Yes, my King?”
He reached for one of the braids Kili had put in her hair, smiling kinder than she had ever seen him do so.
“Kili’s bead. So you have not tamed the Lion, but you have chosen the Fox. Loyal, yet cheeky and sweet.”
Y/N opened her mouth, confused, but Thorin kept speaking.
“I congratulate you on your courtship, Y/N. I wish you much love and happiness.”
“My King, I’m sorry, but I am not courting-”
He swept off in a majestic swirl of furs, leaving Y/N with a finger raised and her eyebrows wrinkled in confusion.
“Courting?” she wondered aloud. “What in Middle-Earth …”
Suddenly, she recalled Thorin’s observation of ‘Kili’s bead’, and she pulled her hair in front of her face, scanning it for the singular, beautiful silver bead, with its nine differently-coloured gemstones, and some vague thought buried in the back of her brain called to her.
“That Dwarf …” Y/N cursed colourfully, tossing her hair over her shoulder, picking up her skirts and running as fast as she could to the most familiar area of Erebor.
The Library. Shelves upon shelves, thousands stretching out further than Y/N could see from the entrance. She raced for the section on Dwarvish customs, pulling a dusty red tome titled ‘Dwarves and Their Secrets - The Rites and Customs of Their Culture’ and flipping through it, coughing as swirls of dust swam into the air.
Finding the page she was after, she slammed the open book onto a nearby table, running her finger down the page as her h/c hair fell in her face.
“That little fuck,” Y/N hissed, closing the book with a slam and sliding down one of the shelves until she sat on the floor, her arms curled around her knees, her face hidden from the world and vice verse by her h/l hair.
“So you found out,” a meek voice said, prompting Y/N to lift her head as Kili sat next to her.
“You bet your non-existent beard I did,” Y/N grumbled.
“I’m sorry,” Kili mumbled, burying his face in his hands, which were large, the same size as yours. “I didn’t know how to tell you that I liked you. I chose the coward’s way out.”
“I can understand that,” Y/N admitted. “Although telling everyone that why were courting via my hairstyle was not the smartest way of going about it.”
“Well, technically, your hairstyle doesn’t say you are dating. (A/N: this part here is completely made up) These braids in this style, paired with the loose hair actually means unrequited love. And seeing as I did your hair, and I have a matching braid-” he briefly pushed his hair behind his ear, pulling on a small braid, that was, indeed matching, even with a simpler version of the bead, with only two gems. “-it basically tells everyone that I have a crush on you. Uncle Thorin just misunderstood because he only looked at the bead, which he knows I own.”
“What do the gems mean?” Y/N asked, knowing she was avoiding the topic of Kili’s love for her and her possible love for him, but too afraid to cross that bridge.
Kili smiled nervously, already flushing from what he anticipated Y/N’s reaction to be, and he pulled the bead from her hair, pointing to each gem as he explained their meaning.
“The white one with the blue sheen - moonstone. It means patience, like how I am willing to wait for you. This pink one is morganite. It symbolises divine love and prosperity. These two are the ones that I have in my matching bead.” And Y/N saw that this was indeed true.
“The red ruby, which symbolises passion.” Kili’s cheeks looked as red as the jewel as he hurriedly moved on. “An emerald, green, which is fertility. Not only in children, but fertility in the soil that grows the flowers of success. Old wive’s tale. The purple one’s an opal - which is for emotional purity. It’s meant to guard against jealousy and anger. The garnet and the citrine - orange and the yellow - both stand for protection, though the citrine also provides prosperity and success.”
Y/N was completely entranced by his knowledge of the gems, even as he came to the last few.
“This pastel blue one is for fidelity, although I don’t think you need that, you have loads of it.” Y/N and Kili laughed together, and Kili fixed the bead back in her hair.
“Wait! You didn’t explain the last one!” Y/N protested, eager to hear more.
Kili stopped, smiling. “Oh. That’s a sapphire, which means trust, like how I’m trusting you with my heart. But I put it in there because it’s the exact colour of your eyes.”
Y/N was so touched by this last one, that he trusted her with his heart, even after she heard that it had been broken by the death of the Mirkwood elleth, Tauriel, that she threw her arms around him, squeezing him tight. On the floor, they were a similar height, and he hugged her back lightly.
“You know, Kili of the Line of Durin,” Y/N said teasingly as her arms lingered around his neck, though she pulled back so she could look him in the eye. “I think I need to thank you for the bead and the braids, because you made me realise something.”
“What?” Kili breathed.
“I realised I’m kinda in love with you.”
And hidden in the endless shelves of the library, Y/N kissed him, right there and then.

Autumn have always started early and didn’t lasted too long, especially in the Blue Mountains. So, especially two certain dwarflings, took every opportunity to get outside and play in piles of colorful leaves.
Fili stirred from a deep slumber into morning dawn. It was still a slightly dark, but he could recognize the outlines of furniture and of his younger brother in their shared room. His golden hair were messy, but that was not one of his main worries in the moment. He quietly got up and tip-toed to his brother’s bed.
Kili was still asleep, brows furrowed, as if he was dreaming of doing Thorin’s glare, but truth to be told, he always looked like angry and grumpy puppy when he was doing that. Or trying to do it. Fili was always teasing him with it, and Kili did his pouting face. But he never stayed mad for too long, because Fili was his big brother and best friend.
Fili sat to the edge of Kili’s bed and shook his shoulder. He whispered to his ear by low voice.
„Wake up, Kee.“ Kili murmed something in his sleep and turned to his other side. A shade of little frown went over Fili’s face. But he didn’t gave up that easily.
Author’s note: Here comes my entrance for the event! I hope you enjoy this!
„You did what?!” Kíli’s voice turned out high-pitched when he heard your recent
confession, the utter disbelief clearly visible in his eyes.
At first you thought that he might get angry at you
after revealing the truth, that he might think of you as silly and
irresponsible but his eyes held no anger—only the honest perplexion. Although
he still did not understand your motives, he was willing to get to know them
and the weight of his gaze upon your shoulders proved that there was nothing
more he could wish for in that very moment, than to see the whole situation
through your eyes. Surprising, that is, considering the fact that the eerie
roars coming from the other side of the stone wall were still as close as

Celebrating Durin’s Day was always an event. Not just an event – through every celebration in Erebor was a huge thing so far – but it was the event of the year. The dwarves
spended months of preparations just
for this celebration, but they didn’t seemed to be too bothered by it. No. They
were excited. Excited to celebrate,
especially when The Lonely Mountain was reclaimed back and the Durin’s line
survived the battle of five armies.
Thorin was a great king, there was no doubt about it. It was
a two years of time since Erebor was reclaimed back, and even if nobody from
the Company didn’t insisted you to stay, you deep down knew they did it just so
you wouldn’t feel pressured and were ovejoyed when you said you’ll stay with
them. Why would you say no, anyways? They became a close family to you through
I love Safe & Sound it’s such a hauntingly beautiful song, I just looked up the lyrics for it and never realized how short it was before though. Like so much of that song is instrumental, it’s literally only four stanzas? idk if that’s the correct term for songs. Since there’s no Kiliel plot in this Kili didn’t get hit with the orc arrow as he did in the movie.
It had been months since you had fallen into Middle Earth and joined the Company of Thorin Oakenshield on their quest for Erebor. After months of hardship you had finally made it to the Lonely Mountain, Smaug was gone, the quest should have been complete. Unfortunately everything seemed to be burning down around you and the company. Thorin was overcome with dragon sickness, the elves and men of Laketown were gathering outside the barricaded gate preparing for war.
Now you sat on top of the wall closing Erebor off from the desolation, gazing out into the amassing armies keeping watch. There you began to sing a haunting song from your home world that seemed to fit your current situation a little too well for your liking.
Kili was wandering the massive halls he had spent his entire life hearing tales of. He found them so…empty, lonely. They seemed only ghosts of the stories his uncle had told him as a child. Though Thorin was now only a ghost of his former self as well, now that the dragon sickness had taken hold. He wondered if he would also succumb to the the sickness. His great grandfather had it, now his uncle, and his grandfather had gone mad as well. Madness seemed to run in the family.
As Kili contemplated his family’s apparent curse a haunting voice began to drift and echo through the halls. For a moment Kili wondered if this was the madness finally taking him. As he walked he recognized the voice. It was yours, the strange wonderful woman from another world. He had never heard you sing before, it was beautiful, hauntingly beautiful, or maybe that was just the song.
Come morning light You and I’ll be safe and sound
Don’t you dare look out your window Darling, everything’s on fire The war outside our door keeps raging on
The words were exactly what Kili had needed to hear as he followed your voice to you. “Beautiful. The-the song, not that you’re not-I…Sorry to startle you.” Kili stuttered through, upset with himself that he scared you and ended your song.
You had not been paying attention to anything inside the mountain. Your attentions focused on singing and the torches of the armies outside. When Kili spoke it was like being snapped out of a bad dream, greatly startling and making you jump out of your seat.
“Ah, no, it’s fine. I should have been paying more attention anyways. Good thing you found me and not King Thorin.” You sneered the word king, hating what the position had turned Thorin into. He was always stern, motivated, and tough but he was never cruel as he was now.
Kili smiled sadly at you then turned to look over the barren landscape. “I always thought he’d be above it…The gold sickness I mean…If he can get it what hope do I have.”
You walked next to Kili staring out across the landscape with him. “You’re not your uncle. Completely different personalities. You’re kind and funny and lighthearted, always cheering people up. You’ll be fine.”
“My uncle is that too…” You turned and raised an eyebrow at Kili making him chuckle. “Alright, maybe not light hearted. But you’ve never seen him when he is at home, relaxed with Fili and I. You have only seen him on a quest to reclaim his homeland. He can be funny, and kind, and always tried to make me feel better as a child…” Kili smiled fondly at the memories of his childhood, before his face dropped as he continued, “The sickness took all of that from him.”
You tentatively reached your hand out for his carefully taking it in your own. “I’m sorry. If there’s anything I can do…”
Kili squeezed your hand before nervously asking, “Would you be willing to keep singing. It was nice. Imagining being safe sounds…ideal at the moment.”
With a small smile you nodded your head leading him back to where you had been sitting earlier and began to sing.
“I remember tears streaming down your face When I said I’ll never let you go”
You sang long into the night staring out across the future battlefield with Kili’s hand held firmly within yours.
Summary: the company and you try and figure out why you are there
Pairing: none really a bit of platonic!Bilbo x reader, some Kili x reader, and some Fili x reader I guess and obviously the company x reader

“Do you think she’s dead?”
“No you idiot she’s breathing”
“Yeah well-……..shut up!”
“Will you two lads pipe down for a moment“
You flutter your eyes open and see all the men standing around you and the one know as Bilbo was kneeling next to you. The company was all fighting with each other except Gandalf, who was standing off to the side a bit, smoking his pipe looking at the group amused, and Bilbo who looked not so amused. He even looked a bit annoyed with them. Bilbo shook his head and picked back up a cloth and was going to dab it on your head but then noticed you were awake. “Oh! Miss (y/n) you’re awake!” The rest of the company stopped their ruckus and turned their attention back to you. “Are you feeling okay?” Bilbo questioned. You just nodded and went to sit up but felt a rush of pain in your head. You let out a slight whimper mixed with a groan. “Woah there lassie,” bofur said “you might want to rest ya head for a bit before getting up. That was a nasty wipe out.” You fall back to the ground and let Bilbo fuss over you as he takes care of your head. “And in the mean while you can tell us what just happened” Thorin spoke and you turned your head to see he was beside dwalin. What do they expectedly to say? I mean you were just as confused as them. If anything they should be telling you what happened. “I honestly don’t know what is going on anymore,” You sigh and bring your hands up to rub your eyes. The events of the day taking a toll on you. Then Gandalf walked up to the group and put his pipe away as he did so. “Well I think I can provide some helpful information on that subject” he smiled down at you before looking back to the group. “A good few decades ago a….friend….of mine told me a prophecy of a young woman,” then he gestured to you “from another world would be joining some sort of quest with me and a few others. Of course I had no idea what or who they were talking about at the time, nor did I know when.” The company got real quiet for a moment. You were so tired and did not understand half of what he had just said so you just asked the main question on your mind“hold on. Another world? So you are telling me that I managed to accidentally fall into a different dimension or reality or something and I’m suppose to go on a quest now?” You question the wizard. “And you remembered all that…just now?” Added Thorin. But Gandalf was already taking out his pipe again, seeming growing bored now of the topic, or he simply didn’t want to deal with it right now. “Oh. Yes. You see I have lived a very long life and things just happen to slip ones mind after a while.” And with that Gandalf smiled and sat back down on the ground. The company and you looked at him for a moment trying to process all that information. I mean it’s not everyday someone from a different world just so happens to fall into ones arms…literally. “Well,” started Balin “I think it’s been a long day for all of us and it’s high time we all rest for the night.” With that a few grunts and “ayes” followed. “What about miss (y/n)? Where will she sleep?” Ori spoke up, peaking out behind Nori and Dori. You turned towards said dwarf and found it sweet he was worried about you. Kili spoke up “Miss (y/n) can share a sleeping space with me” he flirted and you turn your head towards him. He was kneeling next to you and was sporting a mischievous smirk. You opened your mouth a bit and you’re face gave a deep blush. Kili smiled even more but it got wiped off his face when dwalin came up and gave him a hit on the head. “Kili” he growled. Then Fili bent down on the other side of you and said, “yeah Kili and besides she would much rather be with a dwarf that can actually protect her…like me.”Fili puffed out his chest a bit. Your face was now so warm as the blush on your face just kept growing. Now it was Balin who came up and hit Fili on the head. “That’s enough lads. The lass can use the extra sleeping roll and you two can go gather more fire wood.” Fili and Kili gave a small pout then set of in the woods.
“Here ya go lass,”Bofur bent down and handed you the extra bed roll. As you took it you looked at him and let out a soft thank you. He gave you a wink and stood back up. The dwarves dispersed of to do their own thing but Bilbo stayed behind for a moment.
“Is there anything you need?” He asked. His heart went out to you. A girl in a strange world with nothing but a riddle telling wizard to rely on for information. He sort of felt close to you already. With you both being new to this adventure thing. “Yeah actually. Earlier they mentioned they were dwarves. What did they mean by that?” Bilbo looked at you a bit puzzled. “Well.. it means they are dwarves..” You gave him a equally puzzled look. Then you just thought he was joking. So you lightly laughed and joked, “Right and then next you’ll tell me elves are real too, huh?” Bilbo was now even more confused, he couldn’t tell if you were messing with him or not. “Well yes they are” he said “in fact we might run into them a long the way.” You stopped smiling and looked around at the group and said “well if they are dwarves and I’m human why are they not shorter than me and why am I not taller than them?” Bilbo opened his mouth to speak but was interrupted by Gandalf. “My dear it seems that when you fell into middle earth you had grown shorter or perhaps humans in your world are merely shorter than humans in ours” you then asked another question, “also Mr. Gandalf why did I faint earlier?” he took a puff of smoke and spoke again. “Perhaps it was simply your body getting use to being in a different realm. You wouldn’t happen to have traveled to a different world before, have you?” You shook your head, “no I’m afraid I haven’t.” you and Bilbo looked back at each other. You took a moment to study him then asked “Mr. Baggins you are not a dwarf are you?” Bilbo shook his head let out a chuckle. “No no I’m not a dwarf I am a hobbit.” At this time you noticed Fili and Kili return with each holding a large amount of wood in their arms. You turn your attention back to Bilbo. “Hobbit?” What is a hobbit?” You question. “Er well a halfling or er shirefolk” he answered but it was clear to see you still didn’t quite understand yet. “Ah well” he continued, “I’ll answer more questions tomorrow, but as of right now we need to rest. You have had a long day and i can sense tomorrow is going to be even longer.” And the two of you stood up, undid and set up your bedrolls and laid down for the night. Bilbo and you were in the center of the company and closest to the fire. “Mr. Baggins,” You whispered and heard Bilbo give a hum as a response. “Thank you.” You say as a yawn followed. Bilbo smiled “of course.” And you both drifted off to sleep.
“ I don’t know if I trust this ‘(y/n)’ quite yet” Thorin says as he looks over at your sleeping form next to Bilbos. “Of course not uncle. You merely just met her,” laughed Kili. The rest of the company had fallen asleep minus Dwalin and Balin, who were on night watch, and Fili, Kili, and Thorin. “I like her” stated Fili simply. “You hardly know her” Kili argued. “That doesn’t mean I can’t like her” Fili fought back. “Both of ya stop it” Dwalin warned “or I’ll tell ya mother you two were the ones that broke her favorite axe while trying to see who could break a chain with it faster.” That silenced them for a while. Thorin and Balin let out a slight chuckle and turned to look at you. You rolled over in your sleep and seemed to mumble something. Balin sighed, “I do pity her, she is just a lost girl and has no clue where she is. I mean it’s a miracle she didn’t loose her mind and run of in the woods when Gandalf told her of the prophecy.” The others nodded and turned towards you as well. “Maybe tomorrow we can learn more about why she is here and where she has come from.” Thorin spoke as he stood then turned to Balin and Dwalin. “Keep a close eye on her she may be dangerous. We have no idea what her world is like or even what she is like” and with that he went of to bed and minutes later Fili and Kili followed. And so the company of Thorin oakenshield rested for the night. Having no clue what the rest of their adventures will hold.

Pairing: Modern(coffee shop)!Kili x reader Word Count: 2339 Warnings: lots of smoochin, a tiny bit of jealousy, so so so much tooth decaying fluff A/N: Seriously, not even joking, this is completely full of cliches but whatEVER. Honestly, it’s so cute it made me cry writing it. Also, remember how I said this would be updated weekly? I lied (unintentionally, but still). Happy reading, darlings <3
As the day went by, Kili almost completely forgot about you. Customers seemed ruder today, but he pushed through with the promise of seeing you at the end of the day. At 1:57, he heard the door open. “Hi welcome to– oh,” he said looking up. To his surprise, it was you, “You’re a little early.” “I just needed to come work on things for a little while, and thought I’d come here,” you replied with a shrug and a grin. “Well, what would you like?” “What’s the most caffeinated thing you’ve got?” “I like your style,” he smirked with a knowing look on his face, “One cold brew with an extra shot coming up!”
Summary: you fall into middle earth not so graceful and you meet the company
‘Welp I screwed up’ you thought as you walked out of the door and into the warm air. You just spent a weekend at one of your closest friends house and were now walking home. Yep. WALKING. You forgot that your car is absolutely totaled at the moment, so now you were walking 5 miles. yay. And to top it you had a very heavy backpack full of all the things you would need at a sleepover. Plus, your trusty knife that you took when you were walking alone.
Now the way you really screwed up is you forgot that your mom asked you if you could help her with this party she was throwing for your uncle and now you were an hour late and it would take you at least two more to get there. So she’s gonna be real mad when you show up and the party is basically over. You were so deep in thought that you barley noticed the wind picking up. Some leaves started to fall from the trees that were just not strong enough to hold on. “Huh,” you say to yourself “it wasn’t suppose to be windy at all today. But then again the weather people are never right.” You laugh a little to yourself and continue to walk. Then out of nowhere you started to feel a bit dizzy. You fall a little to the side and try to balance yourself but it does little to help. The ground starts to feel as if it’s caving in on itself. At this point your heart is racing and you are just trying to not face plant. “What the h- AHHHH“ you get cut off from you suddenly falling. Now you were really confused but you pushed the confusion out of the way because you were FALLING FROM THE SKY??? ‘When did I get so high?’ You thought in your head and scream at the top of your lungs. You say a quick prayer thinking it’s the end. You brace yourself as the ground comes closer and closer. But instead of smashing into the ground you are caught in two very strong arms.
You open your eyes and meet face to face with a very confused looking man. “Oh my- I’m so-what- I don’t-“ you try to speak but after all that your words just aren’t working for you right now. “That was quite the fall lassie” said the man. He looked to be probably the toughest person you have ever seen. Like wow this dude could chuck you across a football field. “Oh uh yeah- I um I yeah” you sputter out. Man your tounge just has a mind of its own at the moment. “How did you get up that high” asked another man, who had a very funky hat and a mustache, as your catcher put you on the ground. You took a sec to steady yourself and looked up to see that there were thirteen very strong looking men and a short one with very big hairy feet that stood out greatly. “I-I honestly don’t know one moment I’m walking home and- and the next I’m very dizzy and I’m fa-falling from the sky” you realize how crazy you sound but it looks like these men don’t really question you. You take another moment to study them and you can see that they are all dress extremely weird. They look like those mountain people you saw in some movie a long time ago. The next time you noticed is that they all have lots and lots of weapons. Then you notice you are now in the middle of the woods. But you know for a fact that your friend lives in a neighborhood and close to a town.
“I’m sorry but could you please tell me where I am?” You ask the man who caught you. He gave out a grunt and said “yer about a mile away from the town of Bree” okay what? Bree? You were pretty sure there was no town called Bree. “Bree? Where is that?” You question again. “You know you are asking a lot of questions for someone who hasn’t even told us your name” asked a very serious kingly man with very long black hair. oh shoot. He was right you absolutely forgot to tell them your name. “Oh right. Sorry. My name is (y/f/n) um (y/f/n) (y/l/n)” you say with a small wave. They all looked a bit puzzled. “Well that’s a strange name” said a man with a stubble and a bow across his chest. The blonde haired man with a braided mustache elbowed his side and said “Oh Kili! That’s rude! You don’t just tell people they have wierd names!” The man known as Kili gave a slight blush and mumbled a sorry. “It’s alright. I don’t mind” you giggle out, finding the interaction funny. Both of them smile and give a slight bow. “Fili and Kili at your service” they stated as they rose back up. Both of them sported a goofy grin, making you smile even more(even though you were very confused as to why they bowed to you and why they said they were at your service) “um thank you..” you say more as a question.
The two give a smile and then the man who caught you walked up with another man with a long white beard. “Dwalin,” said the man who caught you. “….and Balin” said the other. “At your service” you stood there (still very confused) and then said “and I to you.” Then short man with weird feet came up and said his name was Bilbo Baggin and one by one the rest of the group has introduced themselves to you. You found all their names were Fili, Kili, Thorin, Bilbo, Balin, Dwalin, Bifur, Bofur, Bombur, Oin, Gloin, Ori, Nori, and Dori. (You struggled a bit at remembering their names). After all the introductions were done a very much taller man with long grey robes and a staff rode over on a horse. “I have gathered all I need to the rest of the journey we can continue on now.” He said riding up and then he spotted you. “Who is this?” He asked and gave you a warm smile. You open your mouth to speak but then Thorin inturups, “She claims to be lost and her name is (y/full/n).” You look back and forth between the two and a moment later Gandalf smiles back down at you and asks “lost? Well where is it that you need to be?” You are fiddling with your hand as you are now starting to freak out a little bit. “Well I- well um I need to be in (your town name) but apparently I’m in be-Bree?” Gandalf gave you a confused look as did the rest of the men. “Well I’m sorry my dear but I don’t think that (your town name) is a place”
You shake your head slightly. “No-no I’m pretty sure it is because I live there” you then tell how you have to help your mother and how you are late enough as it is. Then out of nowhere the wind picks up again. “Oh no not again” you cry out. The company looks even more confused now. “What are you talking about?” Asks Bofur. “I-“ you try to get out but once again you start to sway and feel dizzy again. “I don’t know what’s happening” you get out before falling on the grounds
So I created a fall/Halloween themed prompt board since I love this time of year and want to do some themed writing. To send in a request just send me the number that corresponds with the request you want and the character you want that prompt to be done with. Any prompt crosssed off means I have gotten two requests for it already and don’t want to write a third. I will write you a x reader style one shot, themed around what you send in. I will write for characters in the Tolkien universe only. If any other writers want to use this prompt board feel free to reblog this post.
So, I don’t know how, or why, however this blog now has 100 followers. Thank you guys so much! I’m in shock and completely dumbfounded. Just shocked to the max. I didn’t plan on reaching this so i have nothing planned, but would you guys like a part 2 to Lessons in Pleasure? It’s my most requested and I wasn’t originally planning to, but I think it’s well deserved! I also added The Witcher to my requests. I recently fell back into the fandom for it due to the Netflix series. This won’t become a Witcher blog, promise. Another thing added was the ability to request character pairings, without the reader involved. Just ships. I hope everyone enjoys!
Also! If there are any suggestions please message me. I’m doing my best. I’m not quite sure where to go from here. And, if you feel in any way thrown off from a detail in a story, when it’s supposed to be neutral, don’t be afraid to message me. These stories are for everyone and although I have to get specific with certain things, if at any time I give a non-descript character a specific feature please tell me. I wanna be inclusive here.
