i was debating on whether or not i should post this on tumblr but seeing as there haven’t been posts about this yet, here it is. i’m exposing my real location and nationality but it doesn’t matter.

if you have been active on twitter, you may already know #savemyanmar is trending. long story short, there has been a military coup. several nations have released statements but i want to share insight on what’s happening in the country.

memes about a coup have been circulating around for a couple days and when i slept at 2 am last night, we were still under the rule of the National League for Democracy (NLD). while they are not technically democratic, they are the closest we’ve got. when my mother woke up at 6 this morning, she was notified that the country was now under the rule of the military.

banks services are no longer available. wifi was cut at around 7-8. some people got wifi again earlier but many got it barely thirty minutes ago. this is bad for businesses especially ones that require international communications. additionally, international students like myself are experiencing anxiety; how do we pay for and attend classes if we’re not sure wifi is a given?

myanmar has a long, complicated history with military governments. the last time the military went into rule was in 1962 and only stopped in 2011, following the 2010 elections. there was a huge protest in 1988 lead by students that resulted in lots of death. during the military junta, resources like rice, water, oil, were scarce. the gist is military rule is bad for us.

all of my followers are not myanmar citizens, i’m sure but as part of the international community, please help us. here is a petition that you can sign (although i’m not sure if that can do much). there may be protests in front of myanmar embassies so look out for those. most of all, please help spread awareness. 

the people here are coping with dark humor, primarily in the form of memes but we don’t know how long this rule will last, even though the official statement said only a year. here’s something that pretty much sums up our coping mechanism:

kaeya loves the way you’re comfortable around him !! he sees it as you putting your trust in him, something he greatly appreciates. he wants you to know that you could rely on him when you need. he knows it isnt easy, so he’ll try his best to support you in his own ways

he makes a conscience effort to go easy on you whenever he gets the urges to rile you up, which is, unfortunately, often. he can read your body language well - if he notices you getting overly uncomfortable with the things he says or does he’ll immediately stop. in an effort to comfort you, he’ll reach out to stroke your hair before leaving a quick kiss on your forehead. he’d hate to be the reason of your discomfort

kaeya has no problem with stepping up for you whenever you need !! he tries his best to accompany you whenever you need to get outside. he’ll stay close by, making sure you know that he’s right by your side. if anyone were to be overly persistent with you he’d put himself forward to deal with the issue. he may not make his irritation outwardly noticeable, but he does scoff after the person leaves, mumbling under his breath in exasperation. he’ll get over it fairly quickly, though

he takes note of your triggers, whether you tell him about them upfront or not. he pays especially close attention to you when you aren’t in the comfort of your own home, wanting to ensure your comfort and safety. when something potentially triggering comes up he’ll steer you clear of it. better safe than sorry, he’d think.

if you ever do end up having a panic attack in his presence he’ll drop everything just to calm you down. he’d beat himself over it internally too; how long had you been feeling overwhelmed ? why didnt you let him know that you werent feeling well ? why didnt he catch on earlier ?

he’ll take you to a secluded area, guiding you with a gentle hand at the small of your back. he puts your hand over his chest, telling you to focus on him and to try to match your breathing with his. his voice drops to a honeyed tone; a voice meant to comfort rather than jest

if you ever end up doing something outside of your comfort zone he will let you know how proud he is of you !! he’s understanding of how difficult it can be for you, so he’d be openly supportive of even the smallest things

kaeya invites you out for drinks sometimes !! spending time at taverns is one of his favorite pastimes, he’d say that the wine tastes better when you’re there enjoying the drinks with him. he wont push you to join him, though, he just mentions you possibly coming along in a passing comment. he opens up the opportunity for you in case you ever feel like joining. regardless of whether or not you accept his invitation, he’ll respect your decision !!

I’ll make this short. Today a racist idiot burned our car completely. It can only be sold for scrap because the motor, brain and sensors are fried.

We’re a family of black latine immigrants. we did not get any stimulus checks. I was forced to drop out cause I can’t pay for college so I’m using my shop to sustain my family, and without a car this is just so, so much more difficult.

the concept of slow dancing never crossed chongyun’s mind until you mentioned it. he’d be a bit hesitant to go through with it but he’ll end up giving in with a little reassurance. he doesn't wanna mess up in front of you :(

when you first step up to guide him in the first few motions he’ll keep a small distance between your bodies as to not trigger his congenital positivity. he feels much more comfortable gradually leading into such intimate acts, so it’ll take him a moment to properly settle into your hold. his touches would be soft, all well thought out beforehand as a means to not risk sudden nerves on his part. the last thing he wanted would be to heat up in the middle of dancing.

his hand rests on your shoulder, a soothing coolness emanating from it. his opposite hand would take a hold of one of yours, cupping it gingerly.

chongyun gets flustered if he accidentally takes the wrong step, but he also takes it as something he can improve on if he puts in more effort !! after your first time slow dancing together he’ll come up to you asking to do it more often. he’d love for it to become a special thing between you and him. he’s a hard worker, so he’ll end up picking it up pretty fast. he feels fairly accomplished once he properly gets it down !!  he really cherishes being able to have moments like these with you. his condition limits a lot of what he does, but getting accustomed to being more affectionate with you makes him feel giddy inside; not that he’d outwardly let it show.

kaeya wouldn’t mind slow dancing with you if you ask !! he isn’t experienced, so he’ll trust you to take the lead. he wasn’t really the type to dance; work didnt call for it and he’d much rather sit back with a glass of wine at social events than dance with others. he has a hard time saying no to you though, seeing as though you have him wrapped around your finger. when you bring up the matter of slow dancing with him he’ll ask you to lead him in the dance before taking your hand in his.

he’ll start off confidently, sure he’ll be able to catch on and sweep you off your feet with his usual smoothness. but, to his embarrassment, he may accidentally take a few wrong steps and turns. he’ll laugh it off and say it was on purpose, though. after a few more minutes he’ll get into the rhythm. he’ll become more daring with his movements

he places his hand on your waist, tugging you closer and closer until your chest just about reaches his. he takes one of your hands in his, stroking the back of it with his thumb every now and then.

if you ever want to slow dance with him again he’ll easily give in. after a few more times he’ll become confident enough to twirl you !! with some consideration he’ll even let you twirl him if you want. he loves the romantic aspect of it all,, he may end up letting his playful persona slip just to warmly look at you and whisper sweet words into your ears

minor spoilers for kaeya’s background !!

the light of day was just starting to loom over mondstadt by the time kaeya started pulling his clothes on to attend to his usual tasks as cavalry captain. day after day he’d go out in the early hours of the morning only to return home well past sundown. it wasn’t easy, coming home countless nights with sore muscles and droopy eyes. even then, he’d still find it within himself to come back to you with open arms and an exhausted smile.

kaeya turned back towards your shared bed. you were now leaning in the direction of his side, a hand resting on the empty sheets of his side. a few weeks ago he might’ve considered spending a few more minutes in bed with you in hopes of being the first thing you wake up to. he pressed a soft kiss to your brow, turning on his heel to head out the door. he felt sorry to leave you behind yet again. lately it seemed as though he wasn't spending as much time with you as he should’ve been. it saddened him, but he figured that it couldnt be helped. kaeya had his own responsibilities, as did you.

with how busy he had been as of late, there was no time left to shower you in fleeting compliments. no time left to indulge in the warmth of your arms. no time left to simply be yours.

he should’ve known from the beginning. kaeya wasn’t in the position to love as carelessly as he had been. a knight of favonius, and a captain at that. not to mention his past shrouded in secrecy. everyone in mondstadt loved the kaeya they were familiar with; the kaeya he carefully crafted for them to see. telling white lies was second nature to him. telling them to you was no different. 

communication wasn’t his strong suit. he was too afraid to tell the truth of his past, too afraid to let you in, too afraid of what the future had in store for mondstadt. kaeya lived his life burdened by lie upon lie. he was too far in, there was no way he could just let go of the lies he'd fed you up until then. 

the last time he decided to be upfront about the truth, it ended with his relationship with his brother in shambles. he couldn’t bring himself to meet that same end with you. not yet, maybe not ever. would you feel betrayed ? hurt by the reality of your lover being a mere facade of the person hidden underneath ?

as much as he reveled in spending time with you, holding you, touching you, having you, kaeya was well aware of the inevitable end. he was a fool to fall so deeply in the first place. one moment he’d be brushing strands of your hair behind your ear, swooning at the way you’d react to his advances. the next he’d be damning himself for falling victim to your charms so seamlessly.

maybe it was his own selfish desires forcing him to stay in your hold. it was pathetic almost, the way he shamelessly indulged in the innocent love you’d offer, unaware of the burdens constantly gnawing away at the back of his mind. guilt consumed him every time he found himself easing you with a new set of lies.

someday he’d have to get away. kaeya wasn’t sure if it would be to save you or to save himself. surely nothing good would come out of stringing you along with false hope and sweet promises to be broken.

and yet, he’d still find himself enamored by you. a small part of him stayed bitter, knowing that the facade he put up for you was the same as he’d put up for everyone else. he found it rather interesting, the way he could bring people into the palm of his hand by the work of a few well articulated words.

he was corrupt from the inside out. he was well aware of it too. who was he to taint someone like you with such deceitfulness ? being with you was more than enough to make him sneer at his own cowardness. he was too secretive, too scared of consequences even with you by his side. you, the very person putting your trust in him even with him being unable to return the trust.

guilt seems to follow kaeya wherever he goes. it just might just be what brings him to finally push you way for once and for all.

venti loves taking you to places he thinks you’d have fun

he really enjoys going to festivals and gatherings and the like, so he’d drag you along with him whenever he feels like you two haven’t gone on a date in a while. he’s always enjoyed the excitement of these events; having you there to have fun with him made him look forward to any announcements he may happen to overhear in town. he gets cheeky whenever you seem to be genuinely happy with him, especially when he’s the cause of said happiness.

he also loves performing songs for you !! he’ll put together songs just for you “just because he felt like it” a lot of the time </3 there’ll be no warning, one moment he’ll be laughing by your side and the next he’ll be plucking his lyre, looking directly at you while singing his newly written lyrics.

venti has a thing for catching you off guard,, he’s too mischievous for his own good. his lightheartedness comes through particularly more during dates with you

kaeya plans both indoor and outdoor dates

he likes taking you to the beautiful places he’s come across while taking care of his duties. they often remind him of you, he just has to come back with you so he could experience the view with you by his side. he’s one to appreciate pretty sunsets too, probably thinks it would be romantic to watch the sunset with you

kaeya prides himself on being romantic. he’ll shower you in love and affection every moment he can get. whether or not you’re behind closed doors, he will take every opportunity he could to give you kisses and touches.

kaeya would also love to spend nights in with you. along with physical touch, his other major love language is quality time !! he doesnt get to spend as much time with you as he’d like to. he tries to make up for lost time whenever he does get to be with you. sometimes he’d rather keep you to himself, away from anyone else who could potentially garner your attention

diluc would much rather keep your dates private 

he feels much for comfortable when with you and you alone. when he’s with you he doesn’t feel the need to keep up his perfect image. spending one on one time with you makes him really happy !!

he’d set up elaborate dinners to enjoy with you at the winery. he makes sure to send everyone home early beforehand, wanting to do the planning himself. he’ll set up a candlelit homemade dinner. your time with him is usually pretty small, so he wants to use this time with you to catch up. he’ll listen intently to anything you had to talk about, from what you had for breakfast that day to what’s been stressing you out lately. he isn’t much of a talker but he’ll add in his own thoughts and comments occasionally.

diluc,, is a huge cuddler,, he’ll bring you back to bed to hold you soon after you’re done eating. he might even end up falling asleep with you in his arms. it’s moments like these where he feels most at peace

feeling your hand come up to stroke his hair had razor wrapped around your finger. it felt nice, comforting even, to have you touch him so gently. he indulged in the feeling of your fingers running through his hair.

he came closer, tempted to lay his head in your lap. the last time you allowed him left his chest feeling warm. your hand stayed on his head, urging him to settle into your lap. razor nuzzled in, wanting to stay as close to you as he could.

his hair was messy, as it usually was. you’d have to take some time to untangle the knots formed from staying out so long. he didn't mind at all - he’d give you all of his time if he could.

he sighs at the feeling of your nails lightly scratching at his scalp.

“feels... nice.” he curls up in your lap, feeling his eyes getting droopier by the second. how could they not, with the person he cherishes being touching him so soothingly ? he was sure he’d let you comb through his hair for as long as you’d like. taking a nap while you brushed your fingers through his hair wouldn’t hurt, would it ?

“i’m sleepy.” razor’s murmur was slightly muffled due to his face being stuffed into your clothing.

“go ahead and rest, then. i’ll be right here when you wake up.” a gentle smile comes to his face, happy to be lulled to sleep with you by his side.
