This post has awaken something in me.

I've been thinking about Ford's shockingly poorly-timed "Grammar, Stanley" comment, and I've got a take on it I haven't seen go by:

Most folks I've seen think Ford's decision to pick on Stan's grammar comes from being coldly aloof and oblivious to Stan's mood. I think it's the opposite. I think he was keenly aware of the situation and too angry to think straight.

From the moment Ford was unfrozen, here's every single thing Stan said:

[coldly/sarcastically] Hey, good to see you too, bro. Now let's get outta here, huh?

Drawing a circle on the floor. Well, he's lost his mind.

You realize this is a bunch of hogwash, right? You really think some caveman graffiti is gonna stop that monster?

Whoa. Hey. I'm not the enemy here, people. Don't forget who literally created the end of the world.

Fine. Just do one thing. Say "thank you." [From Ford's perspective, Stan's holding the safety of the universe hostage to make him apologize, and in front of a bunch of other people who have just been dragged into their family mess]

I spent thirty years trying to bring you back into this dimension and you still haven't thanked me! You want me to shake your hand? Say "thank you."

Now, see. Between me and him, I'm not always the bad twin.

Every single thing out of Stan's mouth is either subtly snide, or a blatant insult. Ford's just been through literal torture, is trying to save the universe, already feels like this is all his fault, is trying to get his grumpy brother to cooperate—and he's just getting jab after jab after jab. He's called insane, stupid, the bad twin, the enemy, and he's forced to thank the man who just said all this.

By that point, Ford was probably as angry as Stan. He didn't care about his grammar; he wanted to knock his dentures out. A passive-aggressive swing at his grammar was Ford trying to restrain his seething rage while letting just a little of the pressure whistle out like a tea kettle. Sure, it was petty and very counter productive; but it wasn't out of nowhere. He couldn't get into it with Stan over the "bad twin" comment, so he aimed his snark at another part of the sentence.

This is a furious brother suppressing his urge to commit homicide by channeling it through his grade school know-it-all instincts. … and, in the process, accidentally inspiring the other furious brother to commit homicide.

(Plus picking on your brother's grammar during the apocalypse is such a deliberately annoying sibling thing to do.)

I was scrolling through my fic drafts when I remembered this AU I was masterfully crafting a few months ago. I'll probably never finish writing it so I drew it so I can share it here to see if anyone gets my vision.

Basically, after the Axolotl thing, Bill revives in the past Gravity Falls taking the form of a cyclops kitten, and he is NOT happy about it. Ford, who just arrived and is ecstatic about the anomalies, finds him and takes him with him, giving him a name and everything (even if he's an absolute nightmare of a pet, destroying everything he can and being agressive). Bill wants to recover his old form and power or at least quit being a dumb house cat, so he realizes he can manipulate Ford again and use his investigation to discover some way out. The problem? He´s lost his infinite knowledge and can´t even write any human language, so he'll struggle to communicate with Ford.

And that´s pretty much all I had thought for it back then. It didn't get very far lmao. I guess my intention was to kind of redeem Bill like this, as that's what Axolotl revived him for. But yeah, that was the idea. It was going to be a mostly comedic fic with some developing friendship (my fav thing to write). It's a pity I'm awful at consistency.

You ever think about Lute pining over Adam for Centuries without him noticing, giving him the most love-sick longing looks when he's not watching? And when he finally looks she's all like "SPAR WITH ME NOW" to hide it

That'd be super funny and awful for Lute. I mean, imagine crushing on a man who will fuck anything with a pussy (probably), but he decides it's YOU the one woman he sees solely as a friend. That's devastating, man. And I really like the idea of Lute being intense enough to intimidate Adam into sparring with her, thinking she was feeling violent but not realizing she was actually flustered.

I headcanon that Lute gained respect for Adam when she watched him fight for the first time. She probably was so impressed with a guy as undisciplined as him (unlike her) being so strong. I didn't think they sparred a lot cause exorcists are awful at defending themselves and that meant they practically never fought against each other to practice, but Lute was actually pretty good at it in her fight against Vaggie, so I think it's very possible that she learned defense just so she could fight Adam.

Kind of went off the rails there, but the idea of Lute at first crushing on him because of his power is also really cute to me for some reason.

You're onto something, OP.

We can assume things about why Lute hated Vaggie (like her sexuality or Adam's attention), but we have no idea why Adam did. I hope they clarify this, add depth to Vaggie's past with him and the exorcists. It'd be super interesting.

I mean, here he's not even sadistically smiling like he always does. He just seems angry. Maybe Vaggie lied to him about something important? Or is the little action of sparing a demon enough for him to feel betrayed? Betrayed on his cause, or the foundations of a future betrayal...

And Lute suddenly appearing and ripping her wings after just that? To me it looks like she already was looking for an excuse. She absolutely hated her. It was personal.

Something happened between them before this.

Definitely something I'd like to explore is how Vaggie sees Adam behave towards her versus Lute. Like I feel like Adam cares a lot for his soldiers ( they're his flock after all) and the main reason he even attacked the hotel was revenge for killing his girl.

However, I think he's limited to being only the soulless douche everyone expects him to be. It looks like he didn't abandon Vaggie for no reason....she got him MAD. Like he acts like she betrayed him like all the others.

It's definitely something you explore. Adam isn't a liar. He'll withhold the truth but he doesn't lie. He hates liars. So just in how he behaves shows that if he even THINKS you're turning your back on him, you're done for.

I definitely think each one takes after a specific bird. Adam would probably be a peacock. Lute is a goose 100%. They’re too violent not be her.

"Reason number 3: they might be related"

At first I kinda believed the theory about the exorcists being like his daughters, but then I realized how creepy that'd be since he calls Vaggie's (his supposed daughter) relationship hot and sexualizes her and her girlfriend, not mentioning that he calls them bitches and dumb sexual nicknames like DangerTits all the time, but that isn't as bad in comparison.

If they're related that way, it would be a bold decision to make in the show as it would add a layer of disgust that hasn't been touched for now (incestual abuse). I'm not going to say it's impossible but I really hope they don't 😅

Other ways they could be related. If they were humans at some point they're his descendants, but that's irrelevant for the ship tbh. Ooorrr, I have a lil theory here, the angels may have created them from Adam in a similar way they created Eve and that's why they're all women for some reason (??), tho they wouldn't be made to be his wives but his warriors. Honestly I think this makes the most sense, but we'll see what the show tells us in the 2nd season!

I love how comfortable Adam and Lute are around each other.

I mean, look at this

So they're casually together during the extermination, much like how friends gravitate towards each other when in an event even if they're not talking or doing anything, just because it feels easier than being alone. Or perhaps Lute flew closer because she saw the huge war machine approaching Adam and got a little worried.

Charlie and Vaggie are going to attack them, and look at what they do:

Despite being Adam the one closer to Vaggie, he doesn't move an inch. They don't say anything (besides the shit talk) and Adam doesn't even look at her, he expects Lute will take care of Vaggie with no order from him, even if he's closer.

Obviously Adam is confident and doesn't think Vaggie can hurt him at all, but he clearly trusts Lute to get her out of the way. He probably knows how bloodthirsty Lute is for Vaggie and lets her have her without a word, and Lute complies, again, without a word, leaving him to handle the strongest of the enemies at that moment (Charlie).

So in this second, Adam and Lute communicated in silence. Adam didn't move and trusted her to cut in even if it was him the one under attack, and finally Lute trusted him to handle Charlie so she could fight Vaggie, as she didn't seem worried at all of the possibility of Charlie coming to protect her girlfriend.

They're in harmony. They're just natural together.

He lets her grab him like this and is willing to listen to her. It's clear he respects her and deep down appreciates that she'll keep him from doing something stupid, even if he whines.

She also climbs him? Lol. (Look at how she holds onto his arm 🥹 she's super comfortable with touching him!)

They're always hyping each other up, like in their songs:

I honestly believe that they kinda make each other worse, that neither of them would be SO mean all the time if they didn't have the other: a companion who is always backing them up, who agrees on any crap that comes out of their mouth (Lute lets him talk shit about random women and nods, Adam goes along with Lute's homophobia despite seeming to not care that much about homosexuals).

Many portray Lute being a lot smarter than Adam, but I think they're both dumbasses. I mean, we laugh at Adam for saying he never made a mistake in his fucking life, but it was Lute who first stated angels don't make mistakes, somehow keeping a serious face. I think Lute seems smart because she's more quiet and cares about the rules, but she doesn't do logic very well either and can be impulsive too, as shown in the end of ep. 1.

They're probably each other's best/only friend, because they're just so unlikeable. And it makes sense they'd deeply care for one another. They care about that person that stands them and agrees with them and actually enjoys being with them. They're always seen together, hanging out even off duty. They clearly have a lot of fun.

I'll be honest. I ship GuitarSpear, I love it, but I don't know if I want it to be canon for 2 reasons:

1. Lute might be a lesbian.

She is so repulsed by homosexuals that it feels personal. Talking about how disgusting and blasphemous Charlie and Vaggie's love is, or how many cocks were in Angel's mouth and calling him a whore. She cares too much about it for it to not be personal, and I think it makes sense that she'd be a closet lesbian with a shit ton of internalized homophobia. She probably knew about Vaggie's sexuality and held a lot of resentment towards her before tearing off her wings. Maybe she was even attracted to her and was so repulsed about it that she redirected her self-hatred to Vaggie.

2. I think it could be better for Adam's character.

Let's just think about it. This character has a very distorted view of women, he has a fixation on them and hypersexualizes them. So the idea of this horny man, who always sees women with sex colored glasses, being good friends with a hot female below him in the hierarchy with no sexual or romantic interest whatsoever is nice to me. It'd work as sort of a redeeming quality in regards of his relationship with women, and I personally think this man is very redeemable. Let's hope he gets a second chance!

Still! All of this trust and comfort and team feelings can be read as romantic and I certainly wouldn't mind if it becomes canon! They could be the best villain couple!

Summarizing, these two are soulmates, end of the story. They're worse together, but also probably provide the other of a very needed company.

I have no clue if Adam will actually come back, but if he doesn't, I'll feel very bad for Lute. Yeah, yeah, she's an evil bitch, I don't care.
