- is very secretive about his wounds - major or minor - and when you find out, he’s a terrible patient - he’ll go against a lot of your recommendations - from getting out of bed to going back to work - however, he sits very still when you’re cleaning/dressing them - his eyes search you, unable to grasp a spot - butterflies in your stomach - ‘you didn’t have to do this’ [matt] - ‘i know.. i still wanna’ [you] - usually he’ll be quiet beyond that - but sometimes the alcohol hits an especially sore spot - matt will let out a groan - his hand grabbing your knee/whatever limb is closest - he’ll squeeze the spot until your finished - if you’re cleaning a cut on his face he’ll look right at you - even if he can’t physically see you, he can see right through you - and his eyes are just downright beautiful - it makes you blush every time - ‘i hear your heart beat rising, is everything okay?’ [matt] - what you wanna say is absolutely not - ‘yeah, just worried about you is all’ [you] - ‘sounds like you’re lying’ [matt] - ‘you want me to finish this or not?’ [you] - he’ll usually resort to just smiling at you - which doesn’t help much - in short he’s the worst patient because he’s wildly attractive and constantly getting in trouble

You smile at the gravelly murmur, as his arms hook around your middle and tug you back. You wobble a little, planting your hands on bed to steady yourself. You glance down at your fallen shoes before you turn to look at Bruce, brows raising as a small smile curls your lips.

"Some of us have to work for a living, Mr. Wayne."

"Sounds awful."

"Mm, it is."

"Call out sick."

"Oh, please," You scooch back toward the edge of the bed, leaning over to slip your feet into your shoes. You glance down, squirming and scoffing, "Bruce," As he curls close to you, untucking your shirt and pressing a kiss to your side. You smile, glancing down at him and smoothing your fingers through his hair.

"You ought to go back to sleep," You warn, "All of your gallivanting is going to catch up with you if you don't."

"I don't gallivant," He mumbles.

"You sure as shit do something that keeps you out all night. I choose to believe that you're gallivanting. It helps me sleep while you're out and about."

Bruce doesn't answer for a moment. He just watches you tuck your shirt back in before you lean over again, fastening the buckles on the thin ankle straps. Before you can get up, Bruce takes hold of your hand. You watch as he presses a kiss to the back of your hand. You shouldn't let it happen, but he draws you down to curl against him.

"Bruce," You mumble almost prudishly, "I'm going to get wrinkled again."

Bruce just grunts, curling his arm around your waist and drawing you closer. You cuddle into his side as he peppers your jaw with kisses.

"You can be a little late," He murmurs, "Come back to bed."

You smile. "They're gonna fire me if I let you make me late again."

"Let 'em. I'll take care of you."

"I'm gonna need that in writing, Mr. Wayne."

"I'll get legal on it. Alfred can notarize it."

"Alfred's a notary?"

"Comes in handy more often than you think."

the way they speak so passionately about topics that interest them. their hands flying around in the air as they explain with such intent and love. when they all get shy and flustered, face flushed pink after given a complements.

the way their glasses get all foggy and their eyes go so hazy after making out. how breathy and whiny they become after just a few kisses. heart practically beating out of their chest at the sight of you in their lap, kissing down their neck.

the way their hands grasp onto any part of you as you start to pull away. staring into their eyes, fingers running through their hair while they plead and beg for something more. anything more than just the sweet kisses your leaving on their face.

“thought you said you hated valentine’s.” you crossed your arms, leaning against the doorway as you looked at dallas. his fist was clenching a bouquet of crumpled up pink roses against his side, averting your gaze.

“yeah, whatever man. johnny said i should give these ta’you or somethin’.” he thrusted the flowers in your direction, finally looking up at you as his thick brown eyebrows furrowed with deceit when he tried continuing his grumbles of lies.

you merely stepped down your steps, softly resting the door back on its hinges as you step in front of dally, whose eyes never leave your frame.

as you stood in front of him, you looked down at the flowers in his hand, taking notice of the purples and yellow bruises littering his knuckles. the bruises that you so carefully cleaned up the night he came home to you, pressing soft kisses to each one in between mutters of reassurance, which surely but slowly lead to you being sprawled out on the couch below dallas. no matter how much dallas thought it was cheesy, you loved to annoy him with your sappy words of encouragement because although he claimed to hate it, you never missed how the tips of his ears grew red.

“y’know, you didn’t have to—“

“i told ya, johnny told me to drop these off. ‘s not like i’d actually go to the store jus’ for flowers.” even as a ‘hardened’ criminal, he had never managed to convince you whenever he lied.

you know he’d never admit it. you know that you should be grateful for whatever he’s said to you, because it’s likely that he’d never say it again. dallas didn’t love like a normal man, he loved like dallas. and that was okay with you.

so instead, you just smiled at the sentiment as you grabbed the flowers delicately, careful so as to not ruin them.

looking up at him through your lashes, you admired dallas. you had to admit, this was a pretty big step for him. yeah, he would sling an arm over your shoulder lazily and walk around town with you in a protective sort of way, but even doing small gestures like gifting you flowers was different for him. it almost made him feel small, and you were proud of him for it.

“you gonna kiss me, or what?” he teased, tilting his head up and looking down at you with a glint of smugness in his eyes. you scoffed amusedly and shook your head, pulling on the lapel of his leather jacket as you slammed his lips on yours. you can tell he’s been picking at them again because of the shaky thin ridges that outlined the untainted skin on his lips as they moved on yours.

you could call dallas winston a lot of things. he was brash, he was a criminal, he was aggressive, he was violent.

but that didn’t matter to you, because you called dallas, ‘dal’. and when he was ‘dal’ he was no longer any of these names that fell the lips belonging to the judgmental eyes surrounding him. he was just dally, and that’s all that mattered to you.
