Luz achieved everything without having to lose anything.
There is two things that marked the conclusion of Luz's journey and resulted in contradicting much of what was established about her: the absence of sacrifice and when a conflict occurs it ends up being quickly resolved.
Since the first season, an expectation was given that Luz was not a character who was based on the archetype of 'The Chosen One', that the problems she would have to face could not be magically solved through conveniences and works of destiny - reflected in her personality in the first season, being naive about the reality of circumstances, basing life occurrences on the trajectory of a fictional plot, emphasized from the belief that 'magic comes from the heart' -, which gave her an eventual conflict that differs the protagonists who evolve with the protagonists who only arrive at the end of the story: the need to lose in order to win.
While the events of the first season were dedicated to establishing Luz's place in the Boiling Islands, the relationships she was introduced to, and her new discoveries, the second season, in theory, was supposed to present the difficulties and conflicts that Luz would have to face after having obtained so many additions to her life that required her to fight to keep it. Then came 'Yesterday's Lie', addressing the potential biggest conflict that the Luz would have to deal with: having to choose to remain in the Human Realm with her mother and give up all of her friends and loved ones in the Demon Realm.
Tumblr media
Luz was immediately exposed to the realization that there would not be a solution to all problems, that choices must be made and giving up what has been conquered to remain firm and could immediately put her on a level of undeniable maturity, having to deal with a psychological pressure that could only have its outcome achieved through attitudes with unpleasant consequences, however necessary. There were problems, there was a need to face them, and that made her human, including making her very much identified with the viewer when addressing the conflict of the need to make choices that would please some and hurt others. But then came the biggest and most serious decline in Luz's character development: the third season.
Up to that point in the show, Luz had not had to deal directly with the need to face conflicts and seek appropriate solutions; they were just released as an accumulation of problems and left in the expectation of receiving outcomes. Questions, not answers.
Then the conveniences and facilitations emerged: having to deal with choosing to stay with her mother or staying in the Boiling Isles? Don't worry, because Camila watched Luz's outburst video and changed her fear of not having her around (even though it was fueled by the literal loss of her husband, which would hardly make anyone capable of dealing with another family 'loss');
Tumblr media
not knowing how to confess very serious secrets and keep them hidden from her friends? Don't worry, when they find out everyone is simultaneously united in forgiving her and understanding her attitudes, a problem solved; the fear of ending up no longer having the confidence of her friends and loved ones? Don't worry, everyone continues to support Luz, regardless of any circumstances.
Tumblr media
There was no discussion, disagreement or simply demanding an explanation from Luz, instead everything was resolved with mutual and almost immediate understanding and the consensus that she was overloaded.
So, with 'For the Future' it was already established that the plot unfolded in order to benefit Luz on her journey towards a still slightly uncertain conclusion. The true nature of the problem came with 'Watching and Dreaming', precisely in Luz's death and how the whole development took her to a point that marks the absence of challenges to be faced by any protagonist: Deus ex machina.
Tumblr media
From that point on, nothing could stop Luz: she was given enough power to eliminate the greatest threat through an entity conveniently present at the right time, she managed to eliminate the problem with all her friends and loved ones being fine at the end and ready to restore the Boiling Isles.
In the end, all the fears and uncertainties that Luz had turned out to be entirely unnecessary given the fact that she achieved everything without having to face any consequences. Without the rest of the Titan, would there be no way for her to do magic anymore? In the literal last few minutes it showed that it would no longer be a problem thanks to yet another new solution; choose where to stay? Now she has free access to both the Human Realm and the Boiling Isles whenever she wants; all friends, family and girlfriend are with her, in oneness with each other and loving her unconditionally.
The Owl House ended, and Luz remained the same protagonist full of life, with the desire to learn about all the magic at the same time and managing to live her life both normally and being in her dreamed world of fantasy.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
The biggest problem with all this decline is the fact that Luz is no longer an identifiable character with the conflicts she should face.
Her trajectory was marked by a growing accumulation of difficulties and challenges to be faced, but they ended up being solved in favor of not giving her a conclusion that demonstrates that she has matured and learned lessons with her choices. Losses were not necessary, giving up achievements was not addressed and it was not even considered not having a life exactly as she would like, however it was necessary in the face of the circumstances that would move her to learn to live and remain firm.
Emphasizing that happy endings are equally worthy, however the case of Luz and especially of The Owl House ended up being a conclusion whose challenges did not truly make it deserved to obtain a completely happy ending and devoid of choices that would significantly affect the conclusion of the story in a way to have consequences.

Do you plan to change Christopher now that The Owl House is over?
Perfectly, anon. I definitely must do my part to devise an essentially more satisfying conclusion to the show. Christopher's rework will be like:
Christopher, as a character, pre-Watching and Dreaming: Everyone's emotional support, listening and receptive companion, the voice of reason and common sense, in short, a good friend, father and husband.
Christopher, as a character, post-Watching and Dreaming: “Time to put my self-taught psychology years to use to teach these people that they shouldn't become 'better' people for the sake of others and show them that they are people who must move their lives based on their own individual actions and new ways of thinking.”

We're in the same boat, comrade. Promptly pulling the heap of ideas and daydreams about my TOH AU out of the dusty box and finally going to give them the light of day for the next few months, all thanks to outrage.
Is TOH over? Yes. Am I gonna stop writing about it? Absolutely not. My fixation isn't done yet. Hell, I still think about SU and Infinty Train.

'Watching and Dreaming' was so “...I don't know what to say after seeing this.” that it literally brought me back from the Shadow Realm onto my Tumblr.

Why is Christopher an astronomer? It's actually an interesting profession, but it also seems kind of unusual.
Well, at first I agreed with that. Originally it wasn't in my plans, I imagined Christopher exercising a much simpler profession, but with reason to do it: A writer! That was it.
Luz's ambition to become a writer would not be because of her fascination with fiction and the concept that encompasses fantasy, but because of Christopher, her father, who, long before, introduced her to a new way of seeing the world. But I thought that wouldn't be enough for Christopher to fulfill his greatest ambition, which is to bring comfort and well-being to his family, despite being a deep passion he's felt for decades. Then, I remembered another fascination that he also has from the beginning: The Universe.
Contemplation of the Cosmos, feeling welcomed by the stars, the certainty of the uncertainties that inhabit the endless horizon and, of course, a profession that would give him the ability to support his family in total comfort, keeping the top priority.
Well, I can't say that Christopher fully appreciates the need to work towards understanding the Universe, attempts to decipher it, but he fulfills his obligations with determination because he knows it's worth it. So, in general, Christopher playing the role of astronomer is based on a passion he has had since childhood, taking advantage of the fact that it is a considerably privileged profession so that he can maintain comfort for Luz and Camila, exercising with due competence, despite not feeling particularly interested in the priorities needed of the office.
Again, all for the sake of those he loves.

About my The Owl House OC (and other relevant details)
Sounds crazy, right? Everything about this AU stemmed from a particular desire to provide Luz with emotional support, someone she could see herself with, other than her friends from the Boiling Islands or even Camila. So, to clarify the AU, I think it would be appropriate to introduce Christopher himself, as he is the biggest change there is from canon. So, here some probably obvious questions that I will already answer and which I believe will be able to further clarify the alternative plot.
Who is he, in more detail?
In addition to what has already been mentioned, as Luz's father and Camilla's husband, Christopher is also a considerably popular figure, being the astronomer of Gravesfield. Being a person of German origins, though not particularly interested in remembering his past stay in his former homeland. An intellectual and introspective man, although being the greatest source that originated Luz's eccentricity; the reason for this? Without revealing too many details, he hopes that Luz's childhood and growth as a person will in no way resemble what he had decades ago. Before the event of going to the Boiling Islands with Luz, see him in the Human Realm as an example of a father and husband: constantly dedicated and present emotionally and physically, both for Luz and Camila; Christopher's priorities are based precisely and solely on them, on providing total well-being for the life they have, on preserving the peaceful environment and keeping them always away from any animosities, frustrations or misfortunes of life; emotional support? Unconditional trust for any occasion? Never, ever thinking only of himself? These are some of the moods as a father and husband that are always present in Christopher's nature, among other traits that clarify how much Christopher never sees himself as a property, someone with whom they should think a lot about, but dedicate himself at every moment to preserving the absolute well-being of his family. Can it be considered worrying how little value he places on himself? Maybe, but he doesn't see it, he doesn't care about it, because his happiness is found in Luz and Camila, in always seeing them happy, satisfied and at peace, without exception.
What is his role in the plot?
I confess that I originally conceived of Christopher as an emotional support, however I still appreciate thinking of him in that way. How to summarize it? The voice of reason, the thought of common sense or the selfless companion? See him playing each role mentioned in the course of the plot. Since long before he even embarked with Luz for the Demon Realm, Christopher has been everyone's safe haven: for Luz, a figure of total and constant support, taking pride in always seeing her being who she truly is; for Camila, the affection that exudes how reliable and dedicated he is, always seeing her as an eternal admiration, someone who was always worth being by his side; to Eda, King, Amity, Willow, Gus, Lilith, Hooty and everyone else, a mature friend, someone easy to get along with as he is pleasant, calm and kind but equally capable of rolling up his sleeves to defend them with his bare hands. While he doesn't consider himself particularly valuable nor does he view himself with admiration, that's exactly how he views everyone else. That is, he plays an emotional role for everyone in the plot, while also charting his own path as an individual being, tainted by decades-long repression and the quest to let go of any past memories. He is, above all, a good friend.
Other additional details.
Pronouns: He/Him.
Height: 6' 1" (185 cm).
Age: 45 years old.
Sexuality: Straight ally.
Species: Human.
MBTI: INFJ-T.
Nationality: German.
What made him go to the Demon Realm: Despite being very much against his will, Christopher gave in and accepted the idea of Luz going to the camp, making himself available to take her, taking advantage of also having to go to a weeks conference accompanied by other astronomers. Then, events unfold similarly to canon, with Christopher still hesitant with the decision, but, like Luz, distracted by Owlbert's withdrawal, with both accompanying the palisman, being the beginning of the journey.
Final considerations? I definitely feel interested in bringing more content related to him and perhaps the rest of my OC's, but Christopher will certainly be a priority for , for that reason I chose not to reveal absolutely everything about him in this post, only the basics to present him as a character. I really like to think that, in the beginning, I created it with the one and only overarching purpose of just making everyone's lives better in the canon; there have been changes, new additions of information, others altered, but that certainly remains the main reason for having introduced him in The Owl House.

What's your favorite OC? Or if there is one that you are most dedicated to.
Certainly Christopher, considering the fact that I've been developing him since 2020, I believe that after a short time I was introduced to The Owl House, and since then he's become the one I've been dedicating myself to.
I even believe that was the moment that I most leveraged my interest in the conception of OC's to the point of even introducing some old ones into the plot of shows, books or any fictional work that arouses my interest.
By the way, noting how I initially introduced him into the plot of Owl House to make him an emotional and family support figure for Luz, but currently my own version of the show is in such a state that I will talk about it eventually, but I'm afraid there isn't time on this occasion.
Well, in a nutshell: I always love to write about this German man, astronomer and emotionally insufficient when it comes to valuing himself. But he is always a devoted and loving husband and father, also a good friend, so don't worry.

Your OCs seem pretty overpowered, do you have any Tiers for them?
Well, I never really thought about it, I just wrote it down and added some ability feats. But I believe the following list is pretty accurate considering their maximum potential:
All-Names: Tier-0 Boundless.
Caled Trevithick (Infinity Train): High 1-A: High Outerverse level.
Yellow King (The Owl House): High 3-A: High Universe level+
Christopher Noceda (The Owl House): 3-B: Multi-Galaxy level.
Alexander Lehnsherr (Arcane): High 4-C: Large Star level.
Erich Lehnsherr (Arcane): 4-C: Star level.
Otto Lehnsherr (Arcane): 5-B: Planet level+
Christoffer Lehnsherr (Arcane): High 6-A: Multi-Continent level.
Raymond Lehnsherr (Arcane): 10-A: Athlete level.
Also some OC's that I didn't get to mention before because they are still in development and with background not yet established, but it's worth mentioning them:
Omnes-Nigrum (She-ra ATPOP): High 3-A: High Universe level.
K'ristep'or (Elden Ring): 4-A: Multi-Solar System level.
Kristofferson (Amphibia): 5-B: Planet level.

Another one of those moments where I'm fine, but I suddenly remember how immensely frustrated I feel that I have absolutely no drawing skills and not even having a friend who could help me with this issue. Like, that would make so many things really a lot easier.

The development of my The Owl House AU is like:
2020: Okay, Camila seems to really care about Luz, but Luz seems to need a father figure as well. So I'll make Christopher that figure. He will be antagonistic to Camila in certain respects, for example, believing that under absolutely no circumstances should Luz repress her eccentric creativity. That's easy.
2023: Okay, so there's the All-Names, which is practically GOD, metaphorically and literally, a Tier-0 Boundless, which created the entire Owl House Universe, and the Yellow King, who created the Collectors (still need to decide whether or not I'm going to make it canonical), but whose presence doesn't interfere with any events because he already has an infinite number of Universes to manage, but also an infinite number of Universes that he doesn't give a shit about and just creates and lets them exist however they want. Until he decides to give a little importance for this specific version of the Owl House Universe and invades Christopher's subconscious after his “death”, making him star in some chapters in which he revisits his demons and torments from the past, while giving him new abilities with the Cosmic Glyphs on a reflective journey so he can find happiness in himself...That's easy.

This scene, it was this exact scene that just made me give up trying to look for any logic in the adoration that the fandom has for this ship. Reminding me how obnoxious Huntlow is and how convinced I am that the fandom sees Hunter and Willow as a couple just because they are visually adorable together, that's all.
Willow showing Hunter that picture of him and Flapjack only a few hours after he died has the same vibes as in Heartstopper when Imogen’s dog died and Nick brought his the next time they hung out

Still thinking about how there aren't any other reasons to explain how desperate Boscha appears to be wanting Amity by her side other than a pent-up affection.
Tumblr media
Like, “Girl, I know you've been wanting Amity to join you, but do you really need to go full yandere?”. As she implied that, despite the rest of the others leaving, if they were both together everything would be more than resolved. Amity literally left all possible evidence that she no longer wanted to be friends with Boscha, left for another realm for months, in the meantime Boscha became practically a female and school Belos, and when both, after all that, end up meeting again, Boscha acts as if Amity is the only essential piece missing from her. There is simply nothing and no one that convinces me that Boscha wouldn't want to be in Luz's shoes. By the way, what is this?
Tumblr media
Are you really that desperate to take a bite of that Blight?...I mean, I don't judge.
