Ok so here the thing.

“Mancaves” as a concept are fantastic. A room. Of stuff. For hanging out. God-tier idea. It’s a wonderful safe place to just chill.

The issue? They’re gross. I attribute said grossness in part to the name: “Mancave.” Disgusting. Have we men truly devolved to a feral state? What are we, Neanderthals? Foolish. Not to mention, the very name “mancave” seems to exclude the bros that are actually hoes.

I believe, however, that we can change how they are. I believe that if we change the name of mancaves, we can change the mentality of what it should be. A great, welcoming place, but also a safe zone. What name best encapsulates the intended response? Easy.

Fungeons.

First of all, “fun” is in the name. This means it can be a great place to do whatever you want in this room, as long as it’s fun! Already god-tier. But also, the denotation of a dungeon adds so many layers of meaning. It can be a place of solitude to hide away like a medieval king in a fort. It can be a great kinky place for you and the bros/hoes. The simple changing of the name transforms the formerly disgusting, monolithic room into a great multipurpose room of incredible potential.

Also it’s a Wreck-It-Ralph reference, which makes everything better.

The Rise of Squawker: Review

This is my review of TROS and if ya don’t like it too bad.

So yeah it was kinda shit.

That’s about it.

There were things I liked. I didn’t like the concept, but Palpatine’s return was handled about as well as it was gonna be handled by J.J. Abrams. Like I said, still a bad concept, but a pretty good execution of said bad concept.

I HATED how it wrote off a lot of the events of TLJ like it didn’t happen. Wtf J.J. You may not LIKE what Rian did (there are definitely aspects of it that I don’t like), but it still happened and it’s still part of the lore. Don’t retcon because you’re grumpy about it.

And, shit, I guess I have no choice but to talk about...

I can’t deal with the psychological fit talking about that will send me into at the moment so imma just say I’m glad that that kiss can be easily edited out so I can show THAT version of the scene to my children. Not the monstrosity that was the original.

That’s all I feel like writing at the moment so I’ll come back later to edit this post with a full review.

Really important to note, this 4th of July.

For some reason this Fourth of July military spectacle is more upsetting than some other things. Perhaps it’s because the Soviet Union would have parades to show their military might on May Day.  America is so much more than tanks and planes. Fly-overs, the Blue Angels, military bands - we’ve had plenty of these in the past. I think it’s the thought of tanks that gets me. This is not going to be an occasion to show appreciation for those who serve- that would be fine - it’s going to be Trump’s show, not America’s. Sad, as Independence Day has always been a much loved American holiday.
