Me as a Food Technologist ng Bayan
My imagination is flooded with limitless possibilities by the size of the world, which is as enormous and inexplicable as the universe itself. When I look ahead for ten years, I picture myself as a successful food technologist working in the fascinating world of research and development labs, which has long been the subject of my dreams. The timeless ideal of 'honor before excellence' will continue to serve as my guiding principle as an iskolar ng Bayan, a proud scholar of the nation. Because having intellectual prowess is not enough, we also need to exhibit the characteristics of righteousness and integrity, understanding that true excellence is rooted in moral character.
Looking out towards the year 2033, I picture the Philippines which has experienced amazing expansion and development. With each passing year, our civilization will have accepted technological developments, observed the construction of new infrastructures, and experienced a steady march toward development. I want to increase my contribution to the nation by sharing my knowledge and experience in the academic field. By disseminating the knowledge gained from my field of study, I aspire to contribute significantly to societal growth and equip future generations to fully realize the potential of food technology and its effects on our shared well-being.

Why do we need good leaders?
The absolute necessity for effective governance rises in the complexity of our society, a ray of hope enlightening the way to peace and advancement. The pursuit of honest and just government officials transforms into a lifetime responsibility within our national ideals, an obligation we must fervently embrace. Lots of worries increase, casting dark corners on the people's hearts in the Philippines, where vivid hues of culture and diversity merge. The necessity for moral leaders is more urgent than ever during these difficult times.
We must continue to be consistent in our search for excellent leaders as we stand at the turning point of our social journey, guided by the compass of honesty and the unflinching dedication to justice. We can bring about the shift we want to see by using the combined power of our opinions and the influence of the votes that we cast. Let's create a story of development in the canvas of hope wherein the voices of the oppressed are amplified, uplifting them, and giving them a sense of comfort. Collectively, we will create an era where good governance and good leaders are not just a concept but a tangible reality, bringing solidarity, equity, and success to a country that hungers for them.
For me, good leaders should be:
Willing to hear our voices. It will help us feel that we are heard and that our concerns have a chance to be addressed. A good leader must have empathy as this can help them resolve societal issues.
Flexible to changes. Leaders must adapt to change as well. They should listen to the demands of the citizens and act accordingly to what is needed.
Responsible. Responsibility comes in many ways, leaders should be responsible in their actions as well as in doing their duties to the society.

Phasing out the stigma
Currently, mental health has become a global concern, influenced by various factors such as relationships, social status, career, and education. Recognizing its significance, we should prioritize our mental well-being. Personally, my mental health fluctuates, with some days bringing happiness and others filled with anxiety and mixed emotions. On a scale of 1 to 10, I would rate my current mental health at 5, although I find it difficult to fully comprehend due to the overwhelming confusion caused by my current circumstances and responsibilities. The pressure surrounding me feels suffocating at times.
To alleviate the stress and burden, I have developed coping mechanisms. I treat myself to good food, indulge in sweets, listen to my favorite music, watch series, spend time with friends, and occasionally make impulsive online purchases. Although these coping strategies may come at a cost, they provide relief and help reduce stress. Recognizing the importance of my mental health, I am determined to avoid jeopardizing it again, having experienced challenging periods in the past.
Promoting mental health awareness is an imperative cause that should be embraced worldwide. We must combat the stigma associated with mental illnesses and debunk misconceptions surrounding mental health. It is crucial to share our personal struggles with trusted individuals, as this can serve as an escape from the suffocating realm of anxiety and mental turmoil. By fostering understanding and empathy, we can create a supportive environment for those grappling with mental health challenges.

Love yourself first
Love appears as a multidimensional figure in the complexity of human existence, displaying its radiant beauty with a variety of expressions, emotions, feelings, and grief. It encompasses our family, friends, colleagues, and fellow individuals as it weaves its magical connections across  our existence. Love, the omnipresent force that unites us, is proof of the profound relationships that provide meaning to our life. And amid this beautiful connection, I stand as a devoted believer who understands that love finds its purest expression in God's heavenly presence.
Love continues, educating us with lessons and promoting strength. While love offers happiness and comfort it can also cause heartache, especially when someone we truly love becomes "the one that got away." It is a constant companion that leads us through tangled cables of feelings. It's important to accept the complexity of love and embrace relationships while admitting the pain of missed opportunities. Love is a masterpiece of transformation that teaches us that we are capable of receiving and giving love.
To my totga, I am writing this letter for you:
To my dearest Panda,
Hi! I hope you’re doing great. It has been years since we haven’t talked to each other due to some unfortunate circumstances but I am still grateful for all the happy days that we spent together. I still treasure those memories that we had together and still remember the new things that we tried to do together such as traveling to a far place and eating foods that we don’t have in our place. You were a good friend, loved one, and family. We had lots of up and downs in all the times that we spent together yet we surpassed those. It was just sad that we failed to surpass the last one. You taught me one of the most important values in life such as being humble, forgiving, kind, grateful, and faithful to God. Since I met you, I learned how to pray before I sleep and after I wake up in the morning. I felt like I became the “mini-you” at that time and I still practice those values these days. I felt like I became a kinder person after I met you and I think that that’s a good thing(haha). Meeting you made me realize the true meaning of love. The Corinthians type of love, the love that is patient, kind, does not envy, does not boast, the love that is not arrogant, and is not rude. You were living proof that love does not give up. I am sorry if I was the one who gave up and that made me regret a lot of things. It was like a fairytale ruined by the sad reality. Anyway, we still have to keep going. We still have to live our separate lives and seek happiness and success. Wherever you are, I hope you’re happy because we all deserve to be happy. Always remember that you will always have a special place in my heart. When we see each other again someday, I hope that that day will be happy. In another life, I hope that we are happy.
To the one that got away, thank you, till we meet again!
Sincerely,
KyKy
PS: Love is great, but don’t forget to love yourself first.

Adoring Flaws and Boosting Confidence
Concerns about appearance looms large in the complex canvas of selfhood, bringing hesitation and anxiety to the way we think. Even though I publicly state that I don't care about social norms, occasionally I feel uneasy. My skin's imperfections—pimples and acne—turn it into a self-conscious blank canvas. The pressure of societal expectations presses down on me as I examine my physique, conscious of every curve and flaw. The way I talk,  and the subtleties of my mannerisms all serve as sources of self-doubt. These fears are a result of the society we live in and are deeply ingrained in our minds. We live in a society where severe standards for bodies and appearances are set, dictating what we consider to be acceptable beauty. It is a constrained construct that keeps us imprisoned and ties our sense of self-worth to validation from others.
I embrace comfort in accepting my flaws and fearlessly allowing myself into the world when I'm facing anxiety. I am an array of flaws, with each scar and blemish telling a different tale of resiliency and development. I don't let society's limited perspective define me; instead, I create my own vision of beauty in an art piece that embraces individuality and self-acceptance.I break the boundaries of what society requires with steadfast confidence. I am proud of my entire self, including my distinctive voice and distinctive features. I reject conformity's chains because I am worth more than the limitations placed on me.
Therefore, let us reveal ourselves with confidence and accept imperfections because it is in our individuality that we discover true beauty. Let's take back our stories and reject the social constructs placed on us. Let's boost each other up and ourselves up as we gradually create a society that cherishes the diversity of people. Let us embrace our true selves and shine like the brightest star in the universe!PS: Listen to Beautiful by Christina Aguilera.

The Cultural Mosaic of South Cotabato in my Identity
My birthplace, Koronadal, South Cotabato, stands for me as a colorful fusion of cultures and values. Our society is a mix of T'bolis, B'laans, Ilonggos, Bisayas, and Tagalogs, like a simmering pot of diversity. We weave our stories and traditions together to create an exquisite weaving of heritage, synthesizing a kaleidoscope of traditions.
The T'boli people have a unique place of regard within a mosaic of cultures. They create the precious cloth known as T'nalak while secluded away on the captivating waters of Lake Sebu. This sacred fabric pays honor to the T'boli dream weavers by incorporating dreams into each of its individual strands. As dream weavers and creators of our own destinies, we too represent the spirit of our South Cotabateña roots when we wear the T'nalak.
Our culture is woven with dreams, which motivates us to pursue our ambitions with perseverance. Our spirits are woven with courage and determination, never hesitating to embark on the tough path leading to our goals. Every South Cotabateña embraces this ferocious ambition to create their own stories as a defining characteristic that has been passed down through the years.
A dormant stratovolcano known as Mt. Parker in Lake Holon lies beautifully amongst the artwork of dreams. Lake Holon which is home to quiet waters, represents the spirit of our individuals as well as our unwavering dedication to planet sustainability care. Its calm depths serve as a cultural symbol and are a testament to our constant commitment to protection and conservation. Given that we are innate caregivers who nurture and maintain the delicate balance of the environment around us, responsibility is built in our DNA.
I am proud to be a South Cotabateña, dressed in the colors of our culture. Every element of our culture, from the pulsating sounds of folk dances to the alluring tastes of regional food, tells a tale of resiliency, harmony, and compassion. I am a living example of the myriad cultures that coexist within me and represent the cultural diversity of South Cotabato. We, dreamers, rise in this land of aspirations and accountability as stewards of the planet and master weavers of our own destinies. Together, we create a colorful picture that pays homage to the past, changes the present, and creates a complex web of optimism regarding the future.

The Fashionable Voyage from Conformity to Self-Liberation
The webs of self-awareness in the yarn of individuality construct a story that distinguishes us from the group. Let's now travel on a personal voyage through my own experience. I'm from a conservative place where our sense of self was restricted by rules on appearance and dress. I followed the rules, dressing in jeans, sleeved shirts, and raven-black hair. We were taught that modest clothing protected us from outsiders' unwanted glances and advances. I knew, however, that inappropriate attention should never be attributable to what we were wearing.
But as soon as I set foot in this university in college, a world of emancipation opened up before my very eyes. a place where judgment was absent and clothing had no boundaries. I found the liberating world of aesthetic independence here, in this universe. I let go of the orthodoxy that said my hair must only be black and instead welcomed a variety of colors, adorning my crown with an artist's palette. Fashion evolved and became my inspiration to go to school every day.
I escaped the burden of conformity with each stylish outfit and stepped into unexplored fashion horizons. I was energized by the thrill of self-expression, which inspired me to bravely delve into the enormous world of fashion. What a revelation it was, too! I was able to finally breathe in the pure air of sincerity when the chains of society's standards were released from their hold.
I embraced every detail of my fashion identity in this newfound haven, experiencing the excitement of self-discovery. I experienced a sense of purpose and confidence beyond anything I had ever experienced before when I was dressed in clothes that reflected my deepest wishes. I loved being able to express myself without worrying about being criticized because I wasn't restricted by the outdated ideas that had previously kept me in check.
The days of unwanted catcalls and unjustified criticisms are long gone. I was able to celebrate my actual self right here, within the confines of this enlightened a place of safety. Stories of emancipation and empowerment were conveyed by the symphony of colors and textiles.
I found comfort and joy in this beautiful place. To boldly and proudly be who I am. A colorful tapestry made from genuine threads, where each stitch revealed my vibrant personality. I relished the freedom to embrace my genuine self and to savor the colorful splendor of personal expression because I was no longer bound by social restraints.

Why talk to yourself?
Talking to our own selves provides a special and priceless area for in-depth self-exploration and self-discovery, and it is a delightful and enriching way to communicate and reflect on oneself. It's like seeing through a kaleidoscope that is constantly changing and revealing new patterns and dimensions of who we are. Through this process, we can fully immerse ourselves in the vastness of our inner world, recognizing the exquisite splendor that exists inside, and acquiring a lasting understanding of our beliefs, feelings, and values. It offers a fresh viewpoint on who we truly are and cultivates a strong sense of gratitude for the personal development and transformation we have undergone over the course of our existence. By exploring this enormous universe inside us, we discover our genuine identities and appreciate the complex interactions between our conscious and unconscious realms.
Four reasons why we need to do self-talk:
First, to know your role and the essence of your existence. It will answer the question such as “Why do I exist?” and “Do I really matter in this world?”. Answering those will make you feel more relevant and more carefree to do what you want.
Second, to know what you like and what you don’t like. Ask yourself questions like: “Do I really like this, or am I doing this just for compliance?”, “What things make me happy? What things make me sad?”, those kinds of questions will make you know what will make you enjoy in this world.
Third, self-talk aids in defining your priorities and values. You can discover the key ideas and convictions that govern your life by having reflective talks with yourself. Such inquiries as "What do I truly value in life?" "What are my priorities?" and "What kind of person do I aspire to be?" are possible. With these questions, you can identify the values and principles that are important to you through self-reflection, which will help you in decision-making.
Fourth, self-talk helps people stay motivated and achieve their goals. You may increase your motivation, confidence, and resolve by talking to yourself in a supportive and powerful manner. You can be motivated to take action, endure in the face of difficulties, and keep your eyes on your goals by engaging in an internal conversation that affirms your strengths and reminds you of your objectives. Now, ask yourself, “What motivates me the most?”.
